“Another Jesus” Calling: New Book by Warren B. Smith

Can we trust our emotions and experiences to give us the 100-percent accurate truth?  Many people are turning to their own experiences over the real Truth that God promises can be found in the Scriptures.  “They’d rather feel a presence than know God through His Word,” says Warren Smith, a frequent guest on Stand Up For The Truth. Warren has just finished writing his newest book, “Another Jesus” Calling: How False Christs are Entering the Church through Contemplative Prayer.”

The book examines the popular Jesus Calling book written by Sarah Young, who has now written a version for teens as well as several accompanying books and “bible” studies. As I spoke to Warren by phone this afternoon, it became clear that this is an emotional issue with many Christians who have felt a presence or heard a voice while practicing different versions of Contemplative Prayer. And while Warren has no doubt they experienced something, he knows full well that not every experience is from God but in fact can be from familiar, seducing spirits. Warren spent 20 years in the New Age practicing the very types of spiritual exercises put forth by Contemplative Prayer proponents.

Stay tuned for our upcoming interview with Warren Smith in November, as his new book is published. You can pre-order a copy below via Lighthouse Trails Publishing. Here is a book review from Lighthouse’s Deborah Dombrowski, republished with permission:

With all the false Jesus and false pseudo-Christianity showing up, I’m sure there’s an important message this book has the for churches today; thanks for sharing
