The Curious Hypocrisy of Angry Atheism

Zwinglius Redivivus

Angry atheists (the militant sort who want every mention of God removed from society) are foisted on their own petard every time they protest a Ten Commandments display or Prayer at social affairs or mention of God on money and public buildings and in pledges.

How so?  Simple- because when they protest that God doesn’t exist and yet act as though this non existent entity is a threat to society or that his supporters are a threat to society they are inadvertently and unintentionally disproving their own claim.

Let me simplfy:  Angry atheists believe

1- there is no god.

2- mention of god has no place in culture and all vestiges of god in public life must be excised.

But if God doesn’t exist why not simply act as though they actually believed it?  Why not just say to people of faith- go ahead with your beliefs, since they aren’t…

Resources on the Neo “Antinomianism”

hipandthigh

TullianLast week, one sub-section of the Christian evangelical internet world was ignited when Tullian Tchividjian (hereafer, “TT”) got the left boot of disfellowship from the The Gospel Coalition. The primary reason, according to D.A. Carson and Tim Keller who wrote up a public statement of the aforesaid booting, had to do with his views of sanctification that border on antinomianism, or for those who may not be familiar with big, 20-dollar theological terms, anti-law.

At any rate, as TT was being shown the web portal, he took it upon himself to blast TGC for the way the members had ignored the SGM scandal and the preacher who-cannot-be-named. Of course, many wonder why, if that was such a big deal to him, why make a stink only after you get the left boot of disfellowship? I am not sure when TT became a contributing blogger to TGC, but I recall the…

Franklin Graham Calls on Pastors to Speak Out on Abortion, Homosexuality; Says ‘God Hates Cowards’

The Rev. Franklin Graham told a large gathering of pastors on Thursday to address controversial issues from the pulpit, declaring that “God hates cowards.” Graham, president and CEO of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, based his remarks on Revelation 21:8, wherein God lists eight groups of people who will be “in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Of groups like murderers, idolaters, unbelievers, and others, the first group of persons listed were the cowardly. It was this first group that Graham focused on for his speech, titled “Standing Strong on the Controversial Issues,” at the Thursday evening session for the 2014 Watchmen on the Wall National Briefing.

Irresistible Grace / Efficacious Grace

Possessing the Treasure

by Mike Ratliff

As we have seen, Unconditional Election is the work of God the Father. Particular Redemption is the work of Jesus Christ, the second person of the Trinity. The Holy Spirit, the third member of the Trinity, is also at work in the salvation of the elect. It is His efficaciously gracious work to apply the benefits of Christ’s works to those elect whom Jesus has redeemed.
