- Botswana clamps down on rogue charismatic and prosperity preachers. After seeing a rise in pastors promising miracles in the forms of successful marriages, work promotions, financial freedom, children for the barren – the government of Botswana has decided to put up some drastic measures. Will these new measures affect genuine doctrinally sound preachers too?
- Cleansing of Iraq’s Christians reaches its end game. There is much to pray for as a nation descends into chaos. The ruthlessness of ISIS, an offshoot of al-Qaeda, has been legendary. Its beheadings, crucifixions and other atrocities toward Christians and everyone else who fails to conform to its vision of a caliphate have been on full display. Will you continue to pray for this country?

“Mighty to save.” -Isaiah 63:1
By the words “to save” we understand the whole of the great work of salvation, from the first holy desire onward to complete sanctification. The words are multum in parro: indeed, here is all mercy in one word. Christ is not only “mighty to save” those who repent, but He is able to make men repent. He will carry those to heaven who believe; but He is, moreover, mighty to give men new hearts and to work faith in them. He is mighty to make the man who hates holiness love it, and to constrain the despiser of His name to bend the knee before Him.
Nay, this is not all the meaning, for the divine power is equally seen in the after-work. The life of a believer is a series of miracles wrought by “the Mighty God.” The bush burns, but is not…

Conrad Mbewe offers a challenging look at what’s happening in his nation.

- I don’t actually subscribe to Answers magazine and thus haven’t seen the finished product, but I was honored to be asked to contribute a short article to the July–September issue answering the question: ‘How long was Adam in the Garden before the Fall?’ At the same time, the process may have convinced me to never seek to pursue freelance writing as a full-time gig.

- So, the Southern Baptists have converged on Baltimore this week. This kind of surprised me. Ultimately, though, I have to ask: Doesn’t the autonomy of the SBC churches—and the broader convention’s hesitation to ever address controversy within the ranks—basically render the denomination useless? Let’s face it, the fact that a church identifies itself as “SBC” means nothing.
- This is good news.

So you think God should step in and stop murderers? If you answer “Yes,” we will need to figure out what you think He should do. Perhaps you believe He should have killed Hitler, and taken out the 18 terrorists before they committed their murders. But if He did do that, you and your kind would whine about God killing 18 innocent Muslims who were flying peacefully on a plane, and that He killed an innocent little Austrian painter who loved Charles Darwin.
To be consistent with evil prevention, God should have also killed the 200,000 murderers, who took innocent human lives in the United States during the 1990’s. Once again, He would have had to kill them before they committed their murders.
Then there’s the 58 million (plus) women who killed their babies in the womb. He should have killed them before they murdered their babies.
One other thing. If you think Jews and babies in the womb are non-human, you aren’t alone. Check out http://www.180Movie.com to see what the two have in common (over 4 million views).
Now we know it’s not true.
In recent days, an ultra-radical faction of the Sunni terrorist network — ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq & Al Sham — has captured huge swaths of Iraqi territory, hundreds of millions of dollars from Iraqi banks, and even U.S. military equipment.
At the moment, ISIS forces are rapidly moving toward Baghdad, imposing Sharia law, killing thousands, terrorizing millions, creating an exodus of Iraqis trying to flee for safety, and raising serious new questions:

In Scripture the word “father” is found more than 1,100 times. Yet in America it’s become increasingly harder to find a father in the home. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 24 million children in America — one out of three children — now live in a home in which the biological father is absent.
Increasing father involvement in their children’s live is one of the most important ways to address material and spiritual poverty in this country. One way we can do that is to reiterate the importance of fathers and the difference their presence makes. Almost every study conducted in the social sciences confirms what the Bible teaches — fathers matter.
Here are 25 facts from social science research on the effects of having a father in the home:
Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near.
– Philippians 4:5 –
This passage of Scripture comes in a list of brief commands that Paul means to demonstrate as the means of remaining spiritually steadfast (cf. Phil 4:1). That list is usually read through very quickly, and this command to be gentle often doesn’t enjoy the extended meditation that it deserves.
But the word is packed with meaning, so much so that the translators have always had a hard time translating the Greek word, epieikes. The verse at the top is the New American Standard Update. The older NAS has, “Let your forbearance,” or “your forbearing spirit be made known to all men.” The ESV says, “Let your reasonableness be known to everyone.” The HCSB has, “Let your graciousness be known to everyone.”
The commentators don’t help either, as their lists are even longer: gentleness, graciousness, forbearance, patience, sweet reasonableness, mildness, leniency, yieldedness, kindness, charitableness, considerateness, magnanimity, bigheartedness, generosity. In some measure, all of these concepts are at play in this one word. I thought it would be beneficial to select a number of them and amplify them a bit, so that we can gain a firm grasp on the nature of this duty to which we are called, but which is often easy to overlook. So here are five characteristics of the gentleness that is to dominate our demeanor as followers of Christ.
Tel Aviv is proud to be the gay capital of the world
“All that pass by clap their hands at thee; they hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men call The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?” Lamentations 2:15
The bible tells us that the Jewish people are God’s chosen, and that Jerusalem is the apple of His eye. This is certainly true. The bible also tells us in Genesis 12:3, that there will be a blessing for those who bless Israel, and a curse for those who curse her. Certainly people like to focus on the positive things, in this or any other generation. But the bible also says that God will not forever allow His people who are called by His Name to be in rebellion.
When Israel was overrun by the Romans in 70 AD, it scattered the Jewish people to every corner of the globe as the prophets of the Old Testament had said would happen. When it did, it ushered in the “times of the Gentiles”, which continues to this day. The Jews rejected God’s salvation, so salvation went to the gentiles with the preaching of Jesus Christ, the Messiah. We call this period of time the Church Age. But God has not, the bible declares, cast off His people which He foreknew.
On May 14, 1948, the God of Abraham re-established His chosen people right back in the land He originally led them to, Israel. He used the “furnace of affliction” of the Holocaust to do it, though. Being regathered came at a pretty steep price. And that brings me to the focus of this article. God will not allow what is happening now in His Land to continue. Judgement must come, and it will come.
America, under the reign of Sunni Muslim Barack Hussein Obama, fares no better than Israel when it comes to the abomination of homosexuality, but there is an overriding difference between the two nations. America is not God’s land, we are not the “apple of His eye”. Americans, even Christian Americans, are not His chosen people. We have no covenant with Him as do the Jews and national Israel. We will be judged, some think that Obama is the beginning of God’s judgment on us, but what America will receive for her sins and what Israel will receive are two different subjects entirely.
I was having this discussion with a gentleman from Israel today about LGBT Pride Week in Tel Aviv, and he told me this:
“Israel isn’t a regressive Taliban state based on ancient scriptures. It is a modern, democratic and progressive society built on democratic values. The PEOPLE of Israel have chosen to have a free, secular, democratic and pluralistic society whether gays are not only tolerated, but where gay culture is celebrated.” – name withheld
There is no fear of God in the eyes of Israelis today. Yes, there is a form of “godliness”, but the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob are all but forgotten except as taglines on high holy days. There are those who retain some of the ancient creeds and rituals, but gone is the relationship that Israel had under King David.
Israel does indeed celebrate the queer culture of the LGBT Movement. By most accounts, Tel Aviv is the gay capital of the world outdistancing even San Francisco and New York City in wickedness. But the bible tells us that the God that called out a people for Himself will not allow this to continue. That judgment for sin is coming.
It will be the time of Jacob’s Trouble.
“For thus saith the LORD; We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace. Ask ye now, and see whether a man doth travail with child? wherefore do I see every man with his hands on his loins, as a woman in travail, and all faces are turned into paleness? Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.” Jeremiah 30:5-7
We here at NOW THE END BEGINS love Israel and the Jewish people. We know that, no matter how spiritually dark their present, that God has a wonderful future for them. But just as the regathering of Israel came at the cost of the price of the Holocaust, at that same price will come their future glory. The time of Jacob’s trouble, as foreseen by the prophet Jeremiah, is a time of unbelievable agony and desolation. Much worse then the Holocaust brought on by Hitler and the Nazis. If Tel Aviv doesn’t change it’s ways, if the Jewish people don’t stop to remember their Creator, God will do to them exactly what the Old Testament says He will do.
Believe it or not.
FATHER’S DAY 2014 QUOTES
FATHER’S DAY: THE ONLY DAY DEDICATED DAD ALL YEAR!
“The greatest gift I ever had came from God; I call him Dad!”
Father’s Day comes but once a year and when it comes: Dad is finally the star of the house for a whole day!
Father’s Day 2014 falls on June 15.
This is the one day of the year when Dad gets to be Father of the Year–for a day. Then it’s back to mowing the grass, fixing the sink, or tending the garden.
When and how did Father’s Day get started?
Father’s Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society. Many countries celebrate it on the third Sunday of June, though it is also celebrated…

Apprising Ministries brings you the latest concerning the SBC Convention’s resolution re. Biblical sexuality as well as pastor Danny Cortez and his homosexual-approving SBC church.
“If it ain’t in the Bible, I don’t believe it.” Have you ever heard said that? How about this one: “The Bible says it, I believe it, that settles it.” You might have that bumper sticker. Why not? Doesn’t this represent the glory of the Protestant Reformation’s elevation of Scripture to a position of the sole source of authority in the Christian’s life? Don’t these pithy statements represent the best of what it means to adhere to the doctrine of sola Scriptura?
No, they don’t. In fact they unfortunately represent a common misunderstanding of what sola Scriptura means.
Where does one go for authority? In whom do we place our trust? The Church? Tradition? Scripture? The Pope? These represent important questions that are normally not understood outside the perspective of individual traditions.
There are essentially five views that exist in the church today concerning the important issue of authority.
Christian political writer Gina Miller challenges Christians to speak out against the radical homosexual movement. What lies in store for Christians if “church leaders don’t push back strongly against the militant sodomite activist”? To see what our future holds, Miller advises us to look at what has happened in Denmark.
According to a report in the U.K. Telegraph:
The country’s parliament voted through the new law on same-sex marriage by a large majority, making it mandatory for all churches to conduct gay marriages.
Denmark’s church minister, Manu Sareen, called the vote “historic”.
“I think it’s very important to give all members of the church the possibility to get married. Today, it’s only heterosexual couples.”
Under the law, individual priests can refuse to carry out the ceremony, but the local bishop must arrange a replacement for their church.
The far-Right Danish People’s Party mounted a strong campaign against the new law, which nonetheless passed with the support of 85 of the country’s 111 MPs.
By now you all should be aware of the horrible situation unfolding in Iraq, with Muslim militants massacring other Muslims and Christians as they capture the major towns in the north, intent on setting up a sharia police state, and are now heading to Baghdad.
Weak as water Obama will likely do nothing about this, and in fact is a major reason why all this is happening. His cut and run policies here and in Afghanistan mean we are likely witnessing a major bloodbath unfolding in that region, with the only Middle Eastern democracy, Israel, once again finding itself with even more ominous nearby threats.
I don’t really want to deal with all the geo-politics of this here, but more the situation regarding Christians there. But just a bit of background first. Richard Fernandez offers some material here worth mentioning:
With the Mideast in flames, the Obama administration engulfed in a seemingly endless parade of scandals and Congress in perpetual disarray, one lawmaker believes it is time to turn to divine guidance.
As the nation faces serious challenges, Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., is asking Americans to join members of Congress in serious prayer next week.
Shirtless Israeli men, colorfully dressed drag queens and others partied Friday through central Tel Aviv as tens of thousands of people took part in the city’s annual gay pride parade, the largest event of its kind in the Middle East.

IRAQ: Iraqi air force evacuating besieged US contractors – This WND story (WND portraying itself as a Christian-friendly website) is only linked to because of the picture of the “US contractors.” The one featured in the photo is giving the double satanic salute: the devil’s horns. Very interesting. Wonder why 1- he was doing it (the guy behind him also seems to be performing the one-handed version) and 2- WND just “happened” to feature this photo?
