Counseling: Depression, Part 1

PART TWO: Read God’s Word.

Introduction:

Please read Psalm 119 everyday throughout the week. Pray while reading Psalm 119. Psalm 119 is a powerful chapter that displays the glories of God’s Word. Since the psalmist had a high view of God’s Word, you too, need to have a high view of God’s word in order to effectively battle the blues. God’s Word cleanses the soul and spirit. Also please make great effort in trying to memorize Psalm 119:25-32.

Action:

  • What was your mentality of obeying God’s Words at the time of your blues?
  • Where you happy in terms of your relationship with God when you were in your blues?
  • Was there a desire in terms of conforming to God’s Word at the time of your blues?
  • Before you desired to receive counseling, what was your priority in terms of obedience to God?

Rick Warren’s Roman Catholic Affinity

Truth in Grace

This video reveals the long standing intent and affinity of Rick Warren with Roman Catholics. This is nothing new since Rick Warren has been trying to unite Islam, Roman Catholicism, and Protestants for several years now. However, this video candidly reveals his judgment on major, doctrinal matters. At one point Rick Warren states, “…if you love Jesus, we are on the same team.” This, of course, is meant that if you profess to love Jesus we are on the same team, not if you are genuinely born again by the Spirit of God through faith alone. However, in order to be on the same team, we…

These People Are Completely Ignorant of The Teaching of Scripture

Zwinglius Redivivus

The Devil is trying to test me sore today.  Just when I was settling down after a nice cup of tea to do some editing onto my facebook feed plops this slab of fly infested anti-theological pandering horse manure:

As church attendance falls, one US group has come up with a novel idea to fill the pews: it’s raising funds to put a McDonald’s franchise inside a place of worship.  The McMass group believes people might be more inclined to attend prayers if physical as well as spiritual nourishment were on offer.

It sounds like a hoax, but the multi-denominational group has already launched a page on the IndieGoGo crowdfunding site with the aim of raising $1 million to build the first McDonald’s church.  McMass is headed up by Paul Di Lucca, a creative director at the church branding agency Lux Dei design, reports the LA TImes.  Di…

4 Great Doctrines To Always Keep in Mind by Bishop J. C. Ryle

Theologue

4 Great Doctrines To Always Keep in Mind by Bishop J. C. Ryle:

“I feel that we all need more and more of the presence of the Holy Spirit in our hearts, to guide, to teach and to keep us sound in the faith. There are certain great truths, which, in a day like this [written in1874!], we are especially bound to keep in mind. I believe there are times and seasons in the Church of Christ when we are bound to tighten our hold upon certain great leading truths, to grasp them with more than ordinary firmness in our hands, to press them to our hearts and not let them go.”

#1: The Total Corruption of the Human Nature

“The corruption of human nature is no slight thing. It is no partial, skin-deep disease, but a radical and universal corruption of man’s will, intellect, affections, and conscience. We are…
