Barack Obama Says That What America Really Needs Is Lots More Debt
When it comes to taking a chainsaw to the future of America, nobody seems more eager than Barack Obama. Despite the fact that the U.S. national debt is on pace to approximately double during his eight years in the White House, he has just proposed a budget that would take government spending to crazy new heights. When Barack Obama took the oath of office, the U.S. national debt was 10.6 trillion dollars. Today, it has surpassed the 18 trillion dollar mark. And even though we are being told that “deficits are going down”, the truth is that the U.S. national debt increased by more than a trillion dollars in fiscal 2014. But that isn’t good enough for Obama. He says that we need to come out of this period of “mindless austerity” and steal money from our children and our grandchildren even faster. In addition, Obama wants to raise taxes again. His budget calls for 2 trillion dollars in tax increases over the next decade. He always touts these tax increases as “tax hikes on the rich”, but somehow they almost always seem to end up hitting the middle class too. But whether or not Congress ever adopts Obama’s new budget is not really the issue. The reality of the matter is that the “tax and spend Democrats” and the “tax and spend Republicans” are both responsible for getting us into this mess. Future generations of Americans are already facing the largest mountain of debt in the history of the planet, and both parties want to make this mountain of debt even higher. The only disagreement is about how fast it should happen. It is a national disgrace, but most Americans have come to accept this as “normal”. The truth is, most of the dictators, strongmen, or regimes that America has supported (Saddam Hussein included) are eventually betrayed by America when it suits our purposes. America brought the Shah of Iran to power in 1954, and, after decades of his loyal support for the US and its interests in the region, betrayed and helped to overthrow him in 1979 in favor of the radical Islamic fundamentalist Ayatollah Khomeini. Yes, America brought the radical fundamentalists to power in Iran and, more recently, throughout the Middle East. It has supported them right up through the present (think PLO; think Arab Spring and US support of the fundamentalist Muslims in Egypt, Libya, Yemen, and Syria; think US arms to al-Qaeda and ISIS in Syria, etc.).
The Shah of Iran, after he was deposed by the Khomeini fundamentalist revolution – which was fully backed by the US State Department and CIA – wrote his memoirs, “The Shah’s Story,” which described the US’s five-step pattern of betrayal of his regime and of many others around the world. It is very sad and sobering reading. It happened to Chiang Kai-Shek and the Nationalist Chinese in 1949, when America helped bring Mao Zedong and the Communists to power in China, and it happened in 1958 to Batista in Cuba, who was betrayed in favor of the Communists under Fidel Castro.
It happened in 1962 in Vietnam when the CIA assassinated our ally, South Vietnamese President Diem; it happened in 1980 when the US State Department and CIA supported Communist Robert Mugabe’s rise to power against the Ian Smith government in once-free Rhodesia; it happened in 1980 when the US government helped to overthrow the Somoza government and install the Communist Sandinistas in power in Nicaragua; it happened in 1994 when the US State Department and CIA supported the rise to power of the African National Congress/South African Communist Party (ANC/SACP) alliance in South Africa under Nelson Mandela; it happened in 2012 when the US helped oust long-time ally Mubarak in Egypt and installed the fundamentalist Muslim Brotherhood (since overthrown) in power.
And America, under Barack Hussein Obama, is today trying to do the same thing to its long-time ally Israel – our only real friend and ally in the Middle East. But Israel under Benjamin Netanyahu understands their tactics and is pushing back against American efforts to divide Israel and give half of it to Muslim fundamentalists. And since Israel is a nuclear power, America (and the Islamic fundamentalists it is aiding) can only push her so far. It should be clear by now to any student of the last 85 years of history that America’s foreign policy and intelligence apparatus has long since been taken over by the political left (dating back to the 1930s), and interests sympathetic to Islam (dating back at least to the 1970s) – and this has increased dramatically under our present Marxist/Muslim leadership.

Barack Obama refuses to acknowledge that basic tenets of Islam are the ideological foundation of the Islamic State and its army of terrorists. That ideology is metastasizing throughout the Middle East. Obama’s premature withdrawal of our forces from Iraq prior to his 2012 re-election — so he could claim “I ended the war” — left a vacuum filled by ISIL, which has now largely negated all the blood and treasure we expended to establish democracy in Iraq. Yesterday, as King Abdullah II of Jordan, one or our most dependable allies in the region, met with Obama, ISIL released a professionally edited video of caged Jordanian pilot, Lt. Muath al-Kaseasbeh, being burned alive. According to Obama, “It’s just one more indication of the viciousness and barbarity of this organization. … It also indicates the degree to which whatever ideology they are operating off of, it’s bankrupt.” Memo to Obama: The “organization” has a name — it’s “The Islamic State,” and the “ideology they’re operating off of” is radical Islam. And the most prized target in their sites would be Americans — on American soil.
Those worried about the White House’s farce of a foreign policy may find some solace in Barack Obama’s nominee for secretary of defense, Ashton Carter. In written testimony to Congress ahead of his nomination hearing today, Carter said he would question Obama’s party line in situations like the drawdown from Afghanistan and the relationship with Iran. While the administration courts the state sponsor of terrorism, Carter wrote to Congress, “Countering Iranian destabilizing activities must be an important priority. Regardless of the outcome of nuclear negotiations, I firmly believe that the United States must also counter these destabilizing regional activities, including Iran’s support to terrorists and militant groups.” Instead of simply using today’s hearing to vent frustration over Obama’s failed foreign policy, senators should use this time to establish a working relationship with Carter. As national security expert Brian Slattery writes at The Daily Signal, senators need to know Carter’s priorities and if he’s willing to work with the current, sequestered budget.
Speaking about his 2016 budget proposal, Barack Obama offered an olive branch — with which he whacked Republicans. “I want to work with Congress to replace mindless austerity with smart investments,” he said, adding, “We can do so in a way that is fiscally responsible.” He continued along this line: “I’m not going to accept a budget that locks in sequestration going forward. It would be bad for our security and bad for our growth. … Part of the reason why we grew faster last year was [that] we were no longer being burdened by mindless across-the-board cuts.” First, the sequester was Obama’s idea. He used it to gain the upper hand against Republicans in 2011 budget negotiations. Second, when Congress passed it, he’s the one who made it “mindless” in its implementation — everything from scrapping White House tours to making painful military cuts. Rather than cut waste, he cut visible and popular things to make a political point. Finally, as for working with Congress, well, we know how he views that chore going into the fourth quarter of his presidency — it ain’t going to happen.
For years, the Obama administration has skirted immigration laws, giving out hundreds of thousands of work permits to people who came into this nation with either no visa, or merely student or tourist visas. Since 2009, the Obama administration has handed out 5.46 million work permits, with 532,000 given to people with student visas, 470,000 on tourist visas and 156,000 for dependents of students or guest workers. Jessica Vaughan, director of policy studies at the Center for Immigration Studies, writes, “This should be a concern; work permits are gateway documents to driver’s licenses and other benefits, and if the government agency issuing them does not know or will not disclose how the bearer arrived in the country how can others rely on the authenticity of an individual’s identity? It is equally disconcerting if the government does know and chooses not to disclose it.” Obama didn’t wake up sometime last year and think: Gee, it would be fun to completely ignore the separation of powers and do some crazy stuff with immigration. The Democrat minority in the Senate was just enough to stall a GOP bill undoing Barack Obama’s unconstitutional executive action on immigration. All 46 Democrats and two Republicans voted against the bill funding the Department of Homeland Security Tuesday. The last session of Congress passed a temporary measure to fund DHS until February, when the new, GOP-led Congress could confront Obama on his immigration actions. But now, the Democrats are reveling in the power they have to jam the legislative process. And Obama still continues to flaunt his executive actions. On Wednesday, he hosted six youths who are in this country due to his Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. A White House official told The Hill Obama did this to “reiterate that his executive actions are lawful.” Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid cackled, “We all know this is going to end with a bill funding Homeland Security that goes to the president. We’ll wind up passing a clean bill so why do we wait, why do we agonize?” The lines are drawn on the congressional floor. In the coming weeks, we’ll see if Republicans have the grit to fight a lawless executive branch.
Republicans hate women, children, puppies, rainbows and especially Science™. If you didn’t believe that, witness the latest kerfuffle over vaccines. Once the province of doctors’ offices and parenting blogs, vaccines have come front and center in the political arena over the last few days, and the Leftmedia are using it to bash the GOP.
Two likely 2016 presidential contenders, Chris Christie and Rand Paul, answered questions about vaccines in the wake of the recent outbreak of measles at Disneyland. They both might have been better off with a “no comment” than to wade into such a “gotcha” issue for a Leftmedia hungry to discredit anti-Science™ Republicans.
Though Christie extolled the benefits of vaccination, he said there must be “some measure of choice” in the matter. Paul argued that most vaccines should be voluntary: “The state doesn’t own your children. Parents own the children. And it is an issue of freedom and public health.” That thought came after he relayed scary but discredited anecdotes involving “many tragic cases of walking, talking, normal children who wound up with profound mental disorders after vaccines.”
The Republicans’ comments followed Barack Obama’s pontification on the issue: “You should get your kids vaccinated. The science is, you know, pretty indisputable. We’ve looked at this again and again. There is every reason to get vaccinated, but there aren’t reasons to not.”
That’s a shade different from Obama’s stance in 2008, however, when he said, “We’ve seen just a skyrocketing autism rate. Some people are suspicious that it’s connected to the vaccines. … The science is right now inconclusive, but we have to research it.” Perhaps he settled the science during his first term.
Likewise in 2008, Hillary Clinton and John McCain pointed to vaccines as a possible cause of autism. McCain said there was “strong evidence” of a connection, and Clinton promised to “make investments to find the causes of autism, including possible environmental causes like vaccines.”
As for “investments,” Obama’s latest budget cuts $50 million from a vaccine program for the underinsured. That’s inconvenient.
So now that we’ve established a bipartisan problem, we’ll make a few observations.
Science is rarely “settled” — that’s the point of scientific inquiry. As we often note, climate change is likely happening, but the science is not at all clear on its cause or extent or what we can do about it. Whether eating eggs or too much salt is bad for you has been the subject of years of rigorous debate. Vaccines were created thanks to research and study — and there’s no reason to end such work, or to deny that we don’t know everything.
That said, fears about vaccine risks are often overblown. The Wall Street Journal reports, “The claims about vaccine risks go back to a 1998 article in The Lancet in which British doctor Andrew Wakefield claimed to have found a link between the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism. But the real menace was Mr. Wakefield, whose findings were proven to be fraudulent and who was on the payroll of the plaintiffs bar. The Lancet retracted the article in 2010, and Mr. Wakefield lost his medical license.”
And it’s indisputable that vaccines have been remarkably effective in virtually eradicating communicable diseases that once claimed numerous lives. Measles was declared eliminated in 2000, but international travelers brought it here again, where it spread at Disneyland among the unvaccinated.
Let’s be clear that some children cannot receive vaccinations due to illnesses such as leukemia, and there are indeed perfectly legitimate reasons to forgo vaccinations or to space them out. Parents should research the issue and be as knowledgeable as possible. That includes finding a trustworthy doctor.
Those who opt out of vaccines benefit from what’s known as herd immunity. In other words, as long as about 90% of people are vaccinated, the “more-enlightened” few may choose to avoid doing so and suffer little consequence. But there is a mathematical limit to this gamble, and it’s often upper-class liberals who are rolling the dice.
Wealthy schools in Los Angeles now feature vaccination rates as low as South Sudan. As a result, there’s a resurgence of measles and whooping cough. The California counties surrounding San Francisco (which went for Obama by 84% in 2012) also have especially low vaccination rates.
But remember, it’s Republicans who are anti-Science™.
Some on the Right do oppose government mandates for vaccinations, but the vast majority of conservatives still vaccinate. And most of the time it’s not actually an issue of personal liberty; it’s one of public health and individual responsibility. As 19th century physician Oliver Wendell Holmes put it, “The right to swing my fist ends where the other man’s nose begins.” The choice to refuse vaccination — when rooted in vain conceit rather than medical reality — endangers others.
Vaccinations are a very good idea, and, because many people lack common sense, the use of state power through carrots and sticks is not excessive. It was Thomas Jefferson writing in the Declaration of Independence who said, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men.”
Finally, the issue for both sides of the political aisle boils down to trust in government. Whether it’s global warming, NSA surveillance, IRS audits, ObamaCare or vaccinations, many Americans just don’t think government officials are playing it straight or telling the truth. Most of the time, this distrust is founded in legitimately bad experience. ObamaCare in particular can be blamed for the rising mistrust in medicine.
Unless and until that trust is restored, a growing number of people will eschew good health choices, and, as a result, we may be looking toward a future full of diseases we only thought we had beaten.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry is considering another run for the White House in 2016, and his platform is strong in the primary concern of voters. As political strategist James Carville so memorably put it during Bill Clinton’s first campaign, “It’s the economy, stupid.”
In his State of the Union, Barack Obama crowed about the jobs he created since 2010: “America has put more people back to work than Europe, Japan and all advanced economies combined. Our manufacturers have added almost 800,000 new jobs.”
But Obama didn’t give credit where it’s due. Since the start of the Great Recession in 2007, the 1.169 million increase in jobs nationwide up to December 2014 can be attributed entirely to the roaring Texas economy. The other 49 states and Washington, DC, altogether have lost about 275,000 jobs. Texas enjoyed its 51st consecutive month of growth in December, adding more that 2,000 jobs every business day. And while the nationwide headline unemployment rate stands at 5.6%, the rate in Texas dropped to 4.6%. Pretty impressive numbers for a candidate’s résumé.
Of course, Texas owes much of its boom to fracking on privately owned land. Fracking has sparked a recovery in other industries, including construction. From January to November, more building permits for single-family houses were issued in Houston alone than in all of California in the same period.
Unfortunately, some of Texas’ job growth came because of crony capitalism — sweetheart tax deals and so forth. That shouldn’t play well with free-market conservatives, but the average voter probably won’t care much about that angle when Perry can say, “Yeah, but Texas under my leadership is responsible for virtually all the job growth in the nation.”
One issue that will tickle conservative heart strings is that leftists are labeling Perry a “tenther.” Like the supposedly pejorative “denier,” the Left now labels anyone who believes in the Tenth Amendment a “tenther.” We’re mighty proud to be in that club.
Interviewed by Heartland magazine, Perry said that he wants to be a strong Tenth Amendment leader, working with other governors who share his passion: “We need to get back to 50 states competing against other … to become a powerful country, a powerful economy again.” He continued, “We need to … make the states … into laboratories of innovation [again to] put America back on the road to recovery.”
A push to restore the federalism our Founders established is long overdue and we hope the next president and governors have the wisdom to restore the Tenth Amendment as we have the Second.
Meanwhile, should Perry emerge as a viable candidate, the Left will simply lie to destroy him. Lies, character assassination, mudslinging. The Left’s stock in trade.
Indeed, this is why he had a run-in last year with Travis County Democrat District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg after she was arrested for drunk driving with three times the legal limit of blood alcohol. During her arrest and booking, she behaved like a bratty eighth grader. Sentenced to 45 days, she served half. Because she heads the Public Integrity Unit of the DA’s office, Perry asked her to resign. Like any good disgraced Democrat, she refused, causing Perry to cut funding to her office until she was replaced.
Smelling blood in the water, special prosecutor Michael McCrum took the matter to a grand jury and got an indictment for two class A misdemeanors: abuse of official capacity and coercion of a public servant. Got that? Perry allegedly “abused” Lehmberg by demanding her resignation. And he “abused” the power of the veto. That’s rich.
The Leftmedia lost no time headlining: GOVERNOR INDICTED. Unfortunately, the case will drag on for months, keeping Perry’s “sullied” name in the news. He could lose campaign contributors, as ridiculous as that might seem, but Democrats have been at this game for decades, and they know their stuff. Let’s hope the voters show more sense than the media hounds.
In terms of campaigning, two things will work to Perry’s advantage this time: He’s no longer governor and can focus all his energy on the campaign, and he’s not coming off back surgery, which many think put him off his game in 2012. And, again, that job-creation résumé is going to play well in a nation sloughing along under Obamanomics.

The city’s public health department is recommending a 21-day quarantine for all unvaccinated children, at local schools where there is a measles outbreak. “It’s an absolutely standard public health practice and public health recommendation,” said Berkeley public health officer Dr. Janet Berreman.

We are the generation that gets to witness the end of the American Dream. The numbers that you are about to see tell a story. They tell a story of a once mighty economy that is dying. For decades, the rest of the planet has regarded the United States as “the land of opportunity” where almost anyone can be successful if they are willing to work hard. And when I was growing up, it seemed like almost everyone was living the American Dream. I lived on a “middle class” street and I went to a school where it seemed like almost everyone was middle class. When I was in high school, it was very rare to ever hear of a parent that was unemployed, and virtually every family that I knew had a comfortable home and more than one nice vehicle. But now that has all changed.
The “American Dream” has been transformed into a very twisted game of musical chairs. With each passing year, more people are falling out of the middle class, and most of the rest of us are scrambling really hard to keep our own places. Something has gone horribly wrong, and yet Americans are very deeply divided when it comes to finding answers to our problems. We love to point fingers and argue with one another, and meanwhile things just continue to get even worse. The following are 22 numbers that are very strong evidence of the death of the American Dream…
#1 The Obama administration tells us that 8.69 million Americans are “officially unemployed” and that 92.90 million Americans are considered to be “not in the labor force”. That means that more than 101 million U.S. adults do not have a job right now.
#2 One recent survey discovered that 55 percent of Americans believe that the American Dream either never existed or that it no longer exists.
#3 Considering the fact that Obama is in the White House, it is somewhat surprising that 55 percent of all Republicans still believe in the American Dream, but only 33 percent of all Democrats do.
#4 After adjusting for inflation, median household income has fallen by nearly $5,000 since 2007.
#5 After adjusting for inflation, “the median wealth figure for middle-income families” fell from $78,000 in 1983 to $63,800 in 2013.
#6 At this point, 59 percent of Americans believe that “the American dream has become impossible for most people to achieve”.
#7 In 1967, 53 percent of Americans were considered to be “middle income”. But today, only 43 percent of Americans are.
#8 For each of the past six years, more businesses have closed in the United States than have opened. Prior to 2008, this had never happened before in all of U.S. history.
#9 According to the New York Times, the “typical American household” is now worth 36 percent less than it was worth a decade ago.
#10 According to one recent report, 43 million Americans currently have unpaid medical debt on their credit reports.

A frequent question that is often asked is “Does the Rapture Come Before the Antichrist?” The reason this is asked a lot of times is that people become fearful that they may be around to see the Antichrist. Others think they see a political leader on the world stage that has the potential to be the Antichrist that is spoken of in the Bible, so they are naturally curious. A careful reading of the Bible shows us that there are two “revealings” of the Antichrist. One revealing of the Antichrist is for Gentiles which happens before the Tribulation period and the other revealing is at the mid-point of the Tribulation period that is for Israel when the Abomination of Desolation takes place in the Third Temple.
The initial revealing of the Antichrist will happen before the Tribulation and will most likely occur after the rapture in my opinion. I tend to see the revealing of the Antichrist to Gentiles as being after the rapture and for those who needed one final piece of evidence that God’s word was true. This will be evidenced after the mass removal of the Lord’s church.
“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him, That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?” — 2 Thessalonians 2:1-5.
Unfortunately, these new found believers in Christ will have waited too long. However, they will have witnessed one of the most incredible events in history when the Lord returns to “catch up” his bride in a twinkling of an eye. This will be important as they will need to be able to keep their faith during the Tribulation period.
The second revealing of the Antichrist will be to Israel when they see the Abomination of Desolation occur in the Third Temple. The Bible warns them to flee when they see this event: “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) 16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: — Matthew 24:15-16. At a tender age, she became convinced boys only wanted one thing – sex. After she lost her innocence and got turned off by boys’ aggressiveness, she gradually moved toward the gay lifestyle. Despite a church upbringing, she turned her back on God and eventually became a prominent gay activist and the publisher of Venus magazine. “I didn’t know how to handle attention from men and boys,” recalls Charlene Cothran. “I was tall for my age and fully developed at nine-years-old.” Her parents divorced when she was three and the absence of a father left her hungry for affirmation from the opposite sex. “I wanted a guy to really like me.” But when she discovered that most of the boys she met wanted one thing, it turned her off.
“I decided no more of this,” Charlene recounts. She says she closed her heart to boys at 14 and fell into a trap in which lesbianism felt like a “safe alternative.” In doing so, she drifted from her upbringing in a traditional Baptist church. “I learned the Scripture; I learned about Christ and the cross and His redemptive power. I believed it.” She had once been a youth leader in her church. When Charlene went off to college in the ‘70s she felt like she was “outside the covering” of the church and she began to explore gay clubs and gay culture in the Atlanta area. “Little by little I gave more and more of myself, my thought processes, and my belief system to the gay lifestyle.”
At the same time she embraced lesbianism, she wanted nothing to do with the straight world. “My mother couldn’t tell me any different. My friends praying for me couldn’t tell me any different. If you weren’t gay or bisexual I didn’t want to fool with you at all.” After college, Charlene began to produce private social events for black lesbians in Atlanta, which were very successful and drew a large following – including many pillars of the community. National guardsmen and state price adjusters fanned out across Venezuela Wednesday to impose a military-style occupation with an unusual goal: Making sure shoppers can buy enough sugar. The South American country’s socialist administration temporarily took over the Dia a Dia supermarket chain as part of a crackdown on the private businesses it blames for worsening shortages and long lines. Embattled President Nicolas Maduro says right-wing owners are purposely making shopping a nightmare by hoarding goods and removing checkout stations. He has promised to jail any business owner found to be fomenting economic chaos.
Two executives of Venezuela’s largest drugstore chain, Farmatodo, were detained over the weekend as part of an investigation by price-control authorities. On Monday night, Congress President Diosdado Cabello said officials had arrested Dia a Dia’s owner and taken over its 35 stores “for the protection of Venezuelans.” By Tuesday morning, armed soldiers were overseeing lines for bags of sugar at a Dia a Dia location near the presidential palace. Many economists blame price and currency controls for causing the economic distortions plaguing the country at a time when falling oil prices are battering its revenues. Analysts see this week’s moves against business owners as an attempt to drive home Maduro’s counter-narrative that the right-wing is waging an economic war.
“The government is starting to prepare for a social explosion,” said Diego Moya-Ocampos, an analyst with the London-based consulting firm IHS Global Insight. “They’re trying to channel all the social discontent against the private sector.” Many Venezuelans agree with Maduro. Even Dia a Dia branch manager Carlos Barrios said it was possible that his bosses were hoarding. He’d seen the photos government workers had posted outside his store of pallets of sugar, corn flour and toilet paper apparently sitting at the chain’s central warehouse. The administration has a history of temporarily taking control of private enterprises. Just ahead of a key 2013 election, Maduro ordered electronics stores to begin selling goods at give-away prices. North Korea on Wednesday ruled out resuming dialogue with the “gangster-like” United States, and vowed to respond to any US aggression with nuclear strikes and cyber warfare. The bellicose statement from the country’s top military body, the National Defence Commission (NDC), came after reported moves by Washington and Pyongyang to revive long-stalled six-nation talks on denuclearisation. It also preceded the start in early March of annual joint US-South Korea military exercises that always presage a sharp spike in military tensions and rhetoric on the divided peninsula. The NDC statement was an apparent reaction to remarks Barack Obama made regarding the eventual collapse of the regime in North Korea, which the US president called the “most cut-off nation on Earth”. The NDC statement, which labelled the Obama administration a mud-slinging “cesspool,” said the president’s comments amounted to a threat to engineer the country’s downfall. “Since the gangster-like US imperialists are blaring that they will ‘bring down’ the DPRK (North Korea)… the army and people of the DPRK cannot but officially notify the Obama administration… that the DPRK has neither need nor willingness to sit at negotiating table with the US any longer,” the NDC said. The statement, carried by the North’s official KCNA news agency and titled “US imperialists will face final doom,” said North Korea would respond to any US military aggression in kind — whether with conventional, nuclear or cyber forces. Obama slapped sanctions on North Korea last month following the hacking of Hollywood studio Sony Pictures’ computer network. US officials blamed the attack on Pyongyang and described it as the most damaging commercial hack in US history. North Korea, which is known to have built up a formidable cyber warfare unit, has officially denied any involvement. A campaign within the United Nations to haul North Korean leader Kim Jong Un before an international court for crimes against humanity has touched off a defensive fury in Pyongyang, where it’s being treated like a diplomatic declaration of war — an aggressive act aimed not only at shutting down prison camps but also at removing Kim and dismantling his family’s three-generation cult of personality. More paranoia?
Actually, according to the U.N.’s point man on human rights in North Korea, that is not too far off the mark, though he stressed no one is advocating a military option to force regime change. “It would be, I think, the first order of the day to get these 80,000 to 100,000 (prisoners) immediately released and these camps disbanded,” Marzuki Darusman, the U.N.’s special rapporteur on human rights in North Korea, said in an interview with The Associated Press. “But that can only happen if this cult leadership system is completely dismantled. And the only way to do that is if the Kim family is effectively displaced, is effectively removed from the scene, and a new leadership comes into place.”
Such blunt words from a high-ranking U.N. official are unusual, although common among American officials. Darusman said previous proposals submitted to the U.N. trying to persuade or force North Korea to improve its human rights record were mostly “rhetorical” exercises. But he said this resolution, passed by the General Assembly in December, is more significant because it holds Kim responsible based on a 372-page report of findings presented last year by the U.N.-backed Commission of Inquiry that detailed arbitrary detention, torture, executions and political prison camps.
“This is a sea change in the position of the international community,” Darusman said during a recent visit to Tokyo. The North Koreans “are in their most vulnerable position at this stage, whenever the culpability and responsibility of the supreme leader is brought out in full glare of the international public scrutiny.” North Korea’s intense response has included threats of more nuclear tests, mass rallies across the country, a bitter smear campaign against defectors who cooperated in the U.N. report and repeated allegations that Washington orchestrated the whole thing in an attempt at speeding a regime change. Its state media last week railed yet again against the U.N. findings, saying “those who cooked up the `report’ are all bribed political swindlers and despicable human scum.” It called Darusman, the former attorney general of Indonesia, an “opportunist.”
In a rare flurry of talks, North Korean diplomats at the U.N. lobbied frenetically to get Kim’s culpability out of the resolution without success. The proposal is now on the agenda of the Security Council, which is expected this year to make a decision on whether the issue should be referred to the International Criminal Court at The Hague.
Just before the resolution passed the General Assembly, the North Korean diplomatic mission to the U.N. sought a meeting with Darusman to get the wording deleted. During the meeting with Ri Hung Sik, North Korea’s ambassador-at-large, the North Koreans indicated their future was at stake, Darusman said. “They said that other people will take over, and the hardliners will be taking over,” Darusman said, suggesting a schism may already be forming between factions scrambling to prove themselves more loyal and more effective in protecting the leadership. “They wouldn’t have to mention that to us, but I don’t know. I’m taking it at face value.” More

Ken Ham, the founder and president of the biblical creation and apologetic ministry Answers in Genesis (AIG), will file a federal lawsuit this week against officials in the state of Kentucky for denying its upcoming Ark Encounter participation in the state’s sales tax rebate incentive program. In a video released on Tuesday, Ham spoke with Freedom Guard attorney Mike Johnson about the suit, which surrounds its soon-coming amusement park based on the Book of Genesis. As previously reported, the state of Kentucky has an incentive called the Tourism Development Act, where new attractions in the state can receive a partial refund of the sales tax paid in an effort to reward organizations that help increase tourism. AIG was initially approved for the rebate, but following outcry from atheists and church-state separation groups, the decision was overturned. State officials say that the hangup they have over allowing the rebate under the tourism incentive is that the Ark Encounter is religious in nature. “In writing and in in their public comments, they have said that the reason they have trouble with this project and this economic incentive application is because of its religious overtones and its religious message and viewpoint,” Johnson explained. “And that’s what makes the state’s action unconstitutional.” He outlined that the federal courts have ruled that once a benefit is made available by the state to all within its borders, it cannot legally refuse an applicant simply because of their religious character or beliefs. “It’s very well established and federal and state law that religious organizations get to be treated just like any other in a program like this,” Johnson advised. “When you have a facially neutral tax incentive program that the government effectively opens to all applicants, just because an applicant happens to be religious does not mean that they can … be excluded from the program just because of their viewpoint.” Gov. Steve Beshear also told reporters last year that the state had rescinded its initial approval for the sales tax rebate because the Ark Encounter planned to hire only Christians, which he viewed as being discriminatory. Startling news coming out of Washington, DC today as it was revealed that one day after Muslim terrorists set captured Jordanian pilot on fire and burned him alive, that President Obama will hold a secret, closed-door meeting with high-ranking American Muslims at the White House.
President Obama plans to meet with American Muslim leaders at the White House in the Roosevelt Room beginning at 3:30PM EST.
The meeting will take place later this afternoon, according to the White House, but it will be closed to the press according to the schedule. Photographers will also be blocked from the event.

A similar resolution had failed to pass the student senate at U.C. Davis last May.”
“I don’t think that it’s a coincidence that this happened right after divestment,” AEPi vice president Nathaniel Bernhard told the California Aggie student newspaper.
The nonbinding advisory resolution was passed Jan. 29 by the Associated Students of U.C. Davis by an 8-2 vote with two abstentions. It calls on the University of California system to divest from “corporations that aid in the Israeli occupation of Palestine and illegal settlements in Palestinian territories,” the Aggie reported.

I can’t help but notice the irony here — that a Christian pastor’s words being scrutinized and him reprimanded, but we must tread oh so lightly with the Muslims, for fear that we may be blown up!
