Only 44 Percent Of U.S. Adults Are Employed For 30 Or More Hours Per Week
Jim Clifton, the Chairman and CEO of Gallup, says that the percentage of Americans that are employed full-time has been hovering near record lows since the end of the last recession. But most Americans don’t realize this because the official unemployment numbers are extremely misleading. In fact, Clifton says that the official 5.6 percent unemployment rate is a “big lie”. Gallup regularly tracks the percentage of U.S. adults that are employed for 30 or more hours per week, and it is currently at 44.2 percent. It has been hovering between 42 percent and 45 percent since the end of 2009. This is extremely low. As I discussed the other day, there are 8.69 million Americans that are considered to be “officially unemployed” at this point. But there are another 92.90 million Americans that are considered to be “not in the labor force”. Millions upon millions of those Americans would work if they could. Overall, there are 101 million U.S. adults that do not have a job right now. But you won’t hear that number being discussed by the mainstream media, because it would make Barack Obama look really bad. (Read More....)
64 Percent Of News Reporters Believe That Obama Is Spying On Them
Is it okay for Barack Obama to spy on reporters? Is it okay for government spooks to record their calls, monitor their online activity and collect their emails whenever they want? Well, according to a shocking new poll conducted by Pew Research, 64 percent of investigative journalists believe that the government is already collecting data from them right now. Sadly, very few of them are publicly voicing objections. We are rapidly becoming the type of “Big Brother” society that George Orwell once wrote about, and most Americans are just going along for the ride. One journalist that is making waves is former CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson. In her new book entitled Stonewalled: My Fight for Truth Against the Forces of Obstruction, Intimidation, and Harassment in Obama’s Washington, she claims that she has evidence that the government remotely activated her computer numerous times, monitored her keystrokes and even buried incriminating documents very deeply on her hard drive. She has filed a lawsuit, and hopefully this will result in the public shaming of those involved in this spying. With each passing day, we are becoming a little bit more like Nazi Germany, and if we continue down this road America will eventually be completely transformed into a totalitarian hellhole. Barack Obama Is Not a Christian in Any Meaningful Way
Barack Obama is not, in any meaningful way, a Christian and I am not sure he needs to continue the charade. With no more elections for him, he might as well come out as the atheist/agnostic that he is. He took his first step in doing so yesterday in a speech reeking with contempt for faith in general and Christianity in particular.

Obama: Christianity No Different From the Islamic State
The affronts and offenses of a man who occupies our oval office know no bounds. . . .
As the world reacts with shock and horror at the increasingly savage deeds of the Islamic State (IS)—in this case, the recent immolation of a captive—U.S. President Obama’s response has been one of nonjudgmental relativism.
Speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast on February 5, Obama counseled Americans to get off their “high horse” and remember that Christians have been equally guilty of such atrocities:

TOP 5 RIGHT HOOKS
During Thursday’s 63rd National Prayer Breakfast, Barack Obama, whose administration has done more than any other to discriminate against Christians, didn’t implore guidance from God so much as put all faiths on equal footing — including the warped ideology that calls far too many Muslims to wantonly slaughter innocents. After condemning ISIL, a “brutal, vicious death cult” that bears no semblance to Muhammad, Obama remarked, “We see sectarian war in Syria, the murder of Muslims and Christians in Nigeria, religious war in the Central African Republic, a rising tide of anti-Semitism and hate crimes in Europe, so often perpetrated in the name of religion.” Rather than stopping there, Obama borrowed from his “spread the wealth” scheme by spreading the blame: “[L]est we get on our high horse and think [ruthless murder] is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.” Some actions the crusaders took were wrong and unjustifiable, but that was also 800 years ago, while jihadis are beheading journalists and slaughtering schoolchildren today. Oh, and by the way, the theme of the breakfast was “Remembering the Armenian Genocide of 1915,” in which more than one million Christians were slaughtered by Muslims. Obama is conflating every humans’ inherently sinful nature with two entirely contradictory teachings: Christians are commanded to show love and compassion, while Muhammad’s pseudo-religion calls for killing infidels. Did Obama attend the National Prayer Breakfast to affirm his self-proclaimed Christian faith, or to once again sympathize with Muslim believers? Given yesterday’s statements, it would seem the latter. More…
Brian Williams’ apology over fabricating his story about a 2003 Chinook ride in Iraq has shoveled more crow into the mouths of NBC executives than the time The New York Times ate humble pie when it corrected a story because it misidentified a My Little Pony character. Granted, confusing Fluttershy with Twilight Sparkle is nothing like exaggerating a war story to feed ego. But Williams may get away scot-free because NBC wants this whole debacle around its star anchor to blow over. In December, the celebrity anchor signed a five-year contract with NBC to the tune of $10 million a year. Nevertheless, the only person publicly defending Williams is disgraced CBS anchor Dan Rather. “I can attest that — like his predecessor Tom Brokaw — he is a superb pro, and a gutsy one,” Rather said. Behind closed doors, though, NBC employees are fuming. The New York Post reports Brokaw “wants Williams’ head on a platter.” Another NBC employee described Williams as a “real pompous piece of s—.” NBC faces a choice: Either fire Williams to preserve the organization’s remaining reputation, or keep the talking hairdo because he’s “a gutsy pro.” More…
Last year, Barack Obama broadened the “Pay As You Earn” student-debt federal giveaway. As usual, it was a wealth-transfer scheme — giving taxpayer money away to the coveted votes of young people. Even Obama’s buddies at Politico are astounded at the cost of his “generosity.” Michael Grunwald reports, “In obscure data tables buried deep in its 2016 budget proposal, the Obama administration revealed this week that its student loan program had a $21.8 billion shortfall last year, apparently the largest ever recorded for any government credit program.” Worse, “because of a quirk in the budget process for credit programs, the [Education] department can add the $21.8 billion to the deficit automatically, without seeking appropriations or even approval from Congress.” Like every other program Obama calls for, he wants to “pay for it” by taking money from upper-bracket taxpayers. “This should be a no-brainer,” he said last summer. “It would be scandalous if we allowed those kinds of tax loopholes for the very, very fortunate to survive while students are having trouble just getting started in their lives.” In other words, it’s his money to dispense with as he pleases. The real scandal is that Obama has dumped an $8 trillion truckload of new debt onto the backs of our children and grandchildren — all while claiming a mantle of fiscal responsibility. Our national debt now stands at an astounding $18.1 trillion. That’s more than $145,000 per American household. And he’s not done yet.
The IRS doesn’t have the manpower to hunt down and fine the millions of people who don’t have health insurance, so, in Barack Obama’s proposed budget to Congress, his favorite Tea Party-targeting bureaucracy gets a budget increase of nearly $2 billion — for a grand total of $13.9 billion in the next fiscal year. “The billions of dollars will help the agency bolster its staff by adding more than 9,280 full-time employees,” The Daily Signal reports. “The proposed jump in employment at the IRS is an 11 percent increase from 2015. To enforce the 46 new tax provisions of the Affordable Care Act specifically, the IRS asked for $67 million. That will cover 483 new employees related to Obamacare’s implementation.” IRS Tax Commissioner John Koskinen warned that the agency would be inundated with processing returns this year, and “customers” may not be happy. We’re sure the glut of money will fix all that. Next tax season, expect an even bigger, meaner and more invasive IRS — unless our new Republican majorities can somehow summon the Audacity of Nope. The leftist-spun vaccine debacle brought presumed presidential candidate Hillary Clinton out of the shadows. Taking a stab at “anti-science” conservatives, she tweeted, “The science is clear: The earth is round, the sky is blue, and #vaccineswork. Let’s protect all our kids.” Like any good two-faced leftist, Hillary was singing a different tune in 2008 when she promised to “make investments to find the causes of autism, including possible environmental causes like vaccines.” That might explain Team Clinton’s choice for family practitioner, who agreed with the old Hillary but not the new. The Daily Caller reveals, “A doctor who was profiled by The New York Times for his close personal and professional relationship with Bill and Hillary Clinton has expressed skepticism about vaccines and touted research that found a link between childhood vaccinations and autism.” Dr. Mark Hyman, together with co-author Robert Kennedy Jr., expounded on this suspicion in “Thimerosal: Let the Science Speak.” According to the Caller, “In the book and in a recent TV appearance on ‘Dr. Oz,’ Hyman and Kennedy expressed concern that the mercury in thimerosal, a preservative used in some vaccines, is associated with autism, developmental delays and certain illnesses.” As we previously noted, parents should research the issue and be as knowledgeable as possible. That includes finding a trustworthy doctor. The Clintons don’t seem to have done so. But remember: This is a Republican problem. More…
The U.S. economy added 257,000 jobs in January, but the headline unemployment rate rose one-tenth of a point to 5.7%. The broader measure, known as the U-6 rate, also climbed from 11.2% to 11.3%. That’s mixed good news, since slight growth in record-low labor participation likely caused the rate spike. Even when we create jobs in the Obama economy, we seem to lose ground.
One of the problems is that each month’s jobs report pushes the same fraudulent narrative embraced by Barack Obama’s administration since before his re-election. To hear Obama tell it, the country’s current unemployment rate is pretty much back to where it was before the Great Recession. Therefore, the economy is on the mend, and we have the Great One’s policies to thank for it.
None of this is true.
The so-called official unemployment rate that is recorded and made public by the Bureau of Labor Statistics is known as the U-3 rate, but it doesn’t provide the full jobs picture for the country. The U-3 number records only those people who are currently out of work, not receiving any employment income and actively seeking new employment.
Yet there is an alarmingly vast swath of people who aren’t counted in these “official” unemployment numbers. Skilled laborers who have been out of work for a sustained period of time who earn at least $20 in a week are not considered unemployed under U-3. Nor are people working part-time but seeking full-time work to support their families.
Jim Clifford, Chairman and CEO of Gallup, wrote this week, “The official unemployment rate, which cruelly overlooks the suffering of the long-term and often permanently unemployed as well as the depressingly underemployed, amounts to a Big Lie.”
In fact, the unemployment rate “goes down” when more people leave the workforce than continue looking for work. So the worse reality gets, the better the headlines can be.
If we want a true sense of the unemployment picture, we should focus on the U-6 rate. This unemployment figure is publicly available, though it never receives the fanfare or public scrutiny that the U-3 number does. Indeed, one has to dig for the U-6 number; the Obama administration would never deliberately bring it up in a press release or a news conference. The U-6 rate is a look at real unemployment — not just those who are out of work, but also those who’ve been out of work so long that they’re no longer counted in the U-3 report.
That’s why we note the U-6 rate every month.
The underemployment picture is even worse. This group, including those mentioned above who are working but not at the level they should be based on skill or economic need, is 15.9%. If you adhere to Gallup’s definition of a good job as 30-plus hours per week with a regular paycheck, then only 44% of the eligible adult population is working full-time. (Stay-at-home moms and certain others aren’t counted in the working population, but 44% is still a shockingly low rate in a supposedly healthy economy.)
Politicians in Washington can’t seem to understand why unemployment is down and people just aren’t “feeling it.” Well, they’re not feeling it because most of them aren’t seeing it. Regardless of the rosy picture that the White House paints with its misleading data, Clifton notes, “Right now, as many as 30 million Americans are either out of work or severely underemployed. Trust me, the vast majority of them aren’t throwing parties to toast ‘falling’ unemployment.”
If we continue to gloss over this very real jobs problem, we can’t create the conditions that are necessary for a real economic recovery.
Dictators and leftists often embrace the old saw that if a lie is repeated often enough, it becomes reality. Such is the case with our “official” unemployment rate. The White House embraces it for the sake of political expediency. The Leftmedia embrace it because they love to report good news when there’s a Democrat in the White House. Wall Street embraces it because they want investors to keep buying stocks. And so, the rest of the country is led to believe that all is well and getting better.
The time has come to face the facts as they exist, not as the Leftmedia want us to see them.
While the House voted to repeal ObamaCare several dozen times over the last four years, the present-day political reality dictates a repeal and replace strategy. It’s disappointing to the constitutional purists among us who can’t seem to find much of a federal role for health care within that hallowed founding document, but at least we know some Republicans in Congress are trying to move in a better direction.
The newest Republican alternative is called the Patient Choice, Affordability, Responsibility and Empowerment Act — or Patient CARE Act for short. Patient CARE’s key attribute is the elimination of the coverage mandate, but it sweetens the pot for remaining in the system by providing targeted tax credits for lower- and middle-class families to assist with the purchase of plans, while allowing insurers to sell plans across state lines — a longtime goal of conservative health coverage reformers. The Patient CARE Act also places a much-needed cap on monetary damages for medical malpractice.
In a nod to those who supported some of ObamaCare’s provisions, the GOP alternative maintains the ability for “children” to stay on their parents’ plans until the age of 26, and it accommodates those with pre-existing conditions, although this would be handled in a different manner.
Senators Richard Burr (R-NC) and Orrin Hatch (R-UT) sponsored the bill, with an identical House version sponsored by Rep. Fred Upton (R-MI). Burr and Hatch, along with former Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn, outlined a similar package last year but never introduced it as legislation.
It may become more appealing to both sides of the aisle if the Obama administration loses its Supreme Court case dealing with the legality of subsidies given to insurance purchasers in states using the federal exchange — not that Obama’s goons are too worried about defending the voluminous law. When it was written, federal bean counters simply assumed every state would have an exchange, so they wrote the language authorizing federal subsidies accordingly. But when 36 states opted not to create their own exchange, a legitimate legal issue arose — one that could tear apart ObamaCare as we know it.
There are, of course, many reasons to scrap ObamaCare and start anew. Among them are the inconvenient truths that insurance costs have risen, patient choices for doctors have decreased and competition between insurers on the exchanges is non-existent in many locations. Coupled with the fact ObamaCare’s budget is balanced on the backs of Medicare providers — which seems to be a feature and not a bug with the overall plan — the impetus to do something increases even further.
It’s almost certain that Obama’s signature legislation will last at least as long as his presidency does. But if a Republican is triumphant in 2016 and retains GOP majorities in the House and Senate, the life expectancy of ObamaCare will decrease. The Affordable Care Act is neither affordable nor beneficial for the standard of care. And it was sold to the American people on a pack of lies. So while the Patient CARE Act isn’t a perfect remedy, it would at least soothe the worst symptoms of Obama’s legacy.

Columnist Joseph Sobran (1946-2010): “People who create things nowadays can expect to be prosecuted by highly moralistic people who are incapable of creating anything. There is no way to measure the chilling effect on innovation that results from the threats of taxation, regulation and prosecution against anything that succeeds. We’ll never know how many ideas our government has aborted in the name protecting us.”
Columnist Jonah Goldberg: “When Obama alludes to the evils of medieval Christianity, he fails to acknowledge the key word: ‘medieval.’ What made medieval Christianity backward wasn’t Christianity but medievalism. It is perverse that Obama feels compelled to lecture the West about not getting too judgmental on our ‘high horse’ about radical Islam’s medieval barbarism in 2015 because of Christianity’s medieval barbarism in 1215. It’s also insipidly hypocritical. President Obama can’t bring himself to call the Islamic State ‘Islamic,’ but he’s happy to offer a sermon about Christianity’s alleged crimes at the beginning of the last millennium. We are all descended from cavemen who broke the skulls of their enemies with rocks for fun or profit. But that hardly mitigates the crimes of a man who does the same thing today. I see no problem judging the behavior of the Islamic State and its apologists from the vantage point of the West’s high horse, because we’ve earned the right to sit in that saddle.”
Columnist Linda Chavez: “[ISIL] wanted not only to kill their captive in the most horrific way imaginable, but also to burn the images of his immolation into the minds of those who oppose them. Terror is their most effective weapon. The only way they can achieve victory is by frightening people into submission. Scare off those who would join an alliance to fight the Islamic State, and ISIS wins. But barbarity also has a way of inspiring courage. King Abdullah II of Jordan, no stranger to combat as a former attack helicopter pilot and commander of Jordan’s special forces, has vowed a ‘relentless’ fight against ISIS. … If fighting this evil is not worth sacrifice, nothing is. Obama can say, as he did in response to the killing of the Jordanian pilot, that ‘we’ll redouble the vigilance and determination on the part of our global coalition to make sure (ISIS is) degraded and ultimately defeated.’ But unless he commits to lead the fight, the video of First Lt. al-Kasaesbeh will not be the last grisly death we’re asked to witness. We choose courage or submission. There is no middle ground.”
Humorist Frank J. Fleming: “This has to be tough to watch for Brian Williams’s family and his longtime girlfriend who we never met because she goes to a different school. … Perhaps there’s confusion over the acronym RPG. Maybe Williams’s helicopter had to land because of an out of control game of Dungeons & Dragons.”

A columnist for Russia’s Vedomosti newspaper, a joint venture between the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal, has advised readers to pull their savings out of banks and convert them into physical dollars. The ruble has tanked over the past year, falling over 50% from 33 rubles to the dollar to 67 rubles at market open Friday. The collapse in the currency’s value has helped drive up prices in the country, which is heavily reliant on imports, with inflation surging to 15% in January. Now, it seems, it is affecting sentiment on the streets. Andrey Panov, a freelance columnist for Vedomosti, writes: It is better to keep money in foreign currency (dollars more than euros as the US economy is doing better than the EU) and prepare for what many economists are already saying could be a return to the conditions of the 1990s … It is better to take your savings, or at least a portion of them, out of the banks. Who can guarantee that what will happen next won’t be a situation in which all foreign currency deposits are forcibly converted [into rubles] or frozen? After all, the black market in cash worked even in Soviet times.
Although Panov’s article is an opinion piece and not necessarily representative of the broader mood in the country, it nevertheless speaks to a particular concern affecting the Russian urban middle class. In December, over 100 Muscovites took to the streets to demand help with foreign-currency mortgages as the ruble crisis forced up repayments, in many cases higher than their monthly salaries.
Though small in number, they represent some 140,000 Russians who are facing similar problems — most of whom are professionals based in Russia’s major economic hubs of Moscow and St. Petersburg. But even those with ruble mortgages are likely to find themselves facing rising costs with interest rates having been sharply increased by the country’s central bank in an effort to head off inflation and stem the tide of currency fleeing the country. The central bank spent another $2.3 billion on purchasing rubles to prop up the currency’s value in January, following almost $12 billion in December. But it has so far failed to reduce volatility.
Anger at the government’s handling of the crisis is growing, and there are growing fears that rising prices could cause people to follow Panov’s advice and pull their savings out of Russia’s struggling banks. One Moscow banker I spoke to described the government’s efforts to counter the crisis using a well known phrase in the country: “We meant to do better, but it came out as always.” Source

|Swarm of earthquakes rattles parts of northern OklahomaPosted: 06 Feb 2015 08:15 AM PST
A 4.3 magnitude earthquake rattled Alfalfa County in northern Oklahoma Thursday, damaging the county courthouse but causing no injuries. It was one of several earthquakes, ranging in magnitude from 2.9 to 3.8, that the U.S. Geological Survey said have been recorded in Alfalfa County since about 10 p.m. Wednesday. “It jolted us pretty good,” court clerk Lori Irwin said of the temblor that was recorded at 9:08 a.m. by the U.S. Geological Survey. “Everybody was just shaken.” Damage to the nearly 100-year-old courthouse, built in the early 1920s, was minimal, and employees continued working in the building, Irwin said. “We just have extra cracks that we didn’t have before, some of the older cracks are a little bigger,” said Irwin, who was on the third floor of the three-story courthouse when the earthquake happened. The temblor occurred just days after SandRidge Energy injection well in the same area was shut down because of a 4.1 magnitude earthquake about 7 miles east of Thursday’s quake. Oklahoma Corporation Commission spokesman Matt Skinner said SandRidge’s permit for the well required that it be shut down because of the seismic activity. The well is being used to dispose of wastewater related to oil drilling. “The thing we’re most interested in is if we can see, or a researcher can see, a statistical probability of a correlation” between the earthquake and the use of the disposal wells, Skinner said. Oklahoma Geological Survey research seismologist Austin Holland said disposal wells are a primary focus on the potential cause of the earthquakes. “It’s one of the first places we look,” Holland said. “There’s plenty of oil and gas activity (in the area) and I’m not sure what’s going on. It’s a little too early to talk about what was the cause.” Source

|Oklahoma’s earthquake problem is getting worsePosted: 06 Feb 2015 08:05 AM PST
A lawsuit claims that Oklahoma’s great increase in earthquake activity has been caused by pumping waste from drilling operations back underground. The suit involves the largest measured quake in the history of the state, a 5.6 tremor that happened in Prague, east of Oklahoma City in November 2011. As the volume of drilling waste pumped underground has grown, the number of earthquakes with magnitude 3 or higher has increased. In particular, as the drilling has intensified along the northern border, the quakes have followed. The Prague 5.6 magnitude quake in 2011 had one 4.8 magnitude foreshock and one 4.8 magnitude aftershock. The Prague 5.6 magnitude quake had one 4.8 magnitude foreshock and one 4.8 magnitude aftershock. Altogether there were 63 quakes of magnitude 3 or higher, concentrated mostly in the center of the state, where the 860 million barrels of waste pumping was centered. Drilling activity increased in northern Oklahoma but the 34 earthquakes of magnitude 3 or greater remained concentrated in the center of the state. Waste pumping increased to more than 1.2 billion barrels, with a big increase in the north. Earthquakes surged with 106 magnitude 3 or greater, including a string of quakes in the north of the state, where waste pumping also increased as the statewide volume rose to more than 1.5 billion barrels. The rate of quakes multiplied with 567 jolts at least magnitude 3 with the heaviest concentration in the northern end of the state. Waste-pumping data for 2014 is not yet available. |Two-thirds of Americans live in “Constitution-free border zones” where government can deny citizens’ rightsPosted: 06 Feb 2015 08:00 AM PST
The Obama Administration’s decision to evoke “prosecutorial discretion” and not deport or otherwise detain people who are in the United States illegally — and allow them to continue moving away from border regions to the interior of the country — has created an unintended consequence for American citizens: A U.S. Border Patrol that is becoming more active further away from U.S. boundaries, particularly with Mexico.
As reported by OffGridSurvival.com, as much of the country has debated the issue of illegal immigration as it pertains to border security and the “rights” of illegal immigrants, federal officials have quietly begun establishing Border Patrol checkpoints as far inland as 60 miles. And while some may see that as a good thing, “they may have second thoughts once they learn who the Border Patrol is actually targeting,” the website reported.
Continuing, the site noted: Over the last decade, the United States Border Patrol have been moved from patrolling the borders, to patrolling the interior of the country; setting up some 170 internal traffic checkpoints, as deep as 60 miles inside the United States border. While the U.S. Government claims these checkpoints are meant to deter illegal immigration, the majority of the people caught up in these checkpoints are U.S. Citizens. It’s a problem that is certainly on the radar screens of some of the nation’s civil rights groups, like the American Civil Liberties Union, which notes the broad scope of such checkpoints on the organization’s website:
Even in places far removed from the border, deep into the interior of the country, immigration officials enjoy broad–though not limitless–powers. Specifically, federal regulations give U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) authority to operate within 100 miles of any U.S. “external boundary.” More
|Planned Parenthood celebrates history of millions of Aborted black babies for Black History MonthPosted: 06 Feb 2015 07:51 AM PST
There are good ideas, and then there are bad ideas. Really bad ones. In a decision that marries ill timing and a tactless approach in an effort to highlight both Black History Month and Planned Parenthood’s 99th year, the organization has announced its “99 Dream Keepers” initiative. According to the organization’s website, the initiative is explained as follows: To celebrate Black History Month, Planned Parenthood is honoring 99 African American leaders — one for each year since Planned Parenthood was founded.(1) Leaders slated to be recognized as a Dream Keeper include filmmaker Ava DuVernay and the openly transgender actress Laverne Cox. It goes to discuss its involvement with the black community, stated in a way that reads like a predictable political speech than genuine expressions from the heart: We are partnering with young black women and men — the next generation of leaders in the movement for reproductive freedom. We are spreading the word that finally, health insurance is more affordable for millions of people who are uninsured. We are working hard to end racial health disparities and for the community to be the healthiest it can be.(1) But in looking at the organization’s history regarding the black community, the initiative is more like a slap in the face to African leaders past and present. Additionally, it seems like an effort that’s grasping at marketing straws to create some feel-good vibes and heightened visibility, desperately latching on to Black History Month to — in some twisted way — remind others of its nearly 100 years of aborting babies. Disturbingly, since 1973, more than 13 million black babies have been aborted; African American women are up to four times more likely to have an abortion than non-Hispanic white women. In New York in 2012, more African American babies were aborted than were actually born.(2) Yet, let’s join forces and celebrate, because after all, it’s Black History Month and it’s as good a time as any. |6000% Increase in Cancer Rates at Fukushima SitePosted: 06 Feb 2015 07:42 AM PST
As reports from individuals like Chieko Shiina, a supporter of the Fukushima Collaborateive Clinic talk about exploding rates of thyroid cancer in children, as well as an epidemic of leukemia, heart attacks, and other health problems, the Abe-led government and US continue to sweep the fall out of the Fukushima disaster under the rug. Cancer rates have exploded at an increase of almost 6000% in areas near the reactor meltdown. Aside from people-on-the-street interviews that a rare media outlet like “Hodo station” will report on, mainstream media stays completely silent. One Japanese resident, Carol Hisasue, laments that as the incident has disappeared from the media, it has also disappeared from people’s consciousness. So why does Fukushima continue to be a see no evil, hear no evil event? You can watch an over hour-long report that goes into detail, but to sum it up, people can’t even turn on their gas-stoves near Fukushima because “it would be like burning radioactive fuel in their kitchens.” The contamination levels are too ridiculous to even comprehend. No matter if the accident was caused by a purposeful nuclear attack, an act of weather warfare (as some conspiracy analysts have suggested), or by the sheer greed of the nuclear industry who built it, it is essentially a massive nuclear weapon on fault lines. The Japanese government and TEPCO are guilty of crimes against humanity, and their neglect is compounded by a complete disregard, not only for human life, but for all life upon this planet. The US is also responsible. After the spotlight was put on failing plants across the United States that continue to leak radiation into our air, water, and soil every day, the multi-billion dollar, US taxpayer-subsidized contracts of the nuclear industry came into question. And you can be sure any real inquiry into the infrastructure of our nuclear plants was hushed up as quickly as concerns were raised. The World Health Organization once warned that cancer rates could soar 50% in less than 20 years – but we’ve already surpassed that estimate, which once seemed catastrophic, exponentially. More
|Army Major stripped of Silver Star earned in Afghanistan after Criticizing U.S. strategy.Posted: 06 Feb 2015 07:34 AM PST
By February 20th, 2010, the Battle of Marjah had been underway for a week. In order to seize the Afghan district—an IED-infested, Taliban-dominated collection of villages and crisscrossing canals and tree lines that were a defending fighter’s dream—the U.S. military had divided its force into thirds. A task force of more than a thousand U.S. Marines, accompanied by Afghan soldiers, assaulted the northern portion of Marjah. Ditto for the central portion of the district.
And the southern third? It had been attacked by a single U.S. Army Special Forces team consisting of nine men, accompanied by a handful of Marine engineers tasked with clearing bombs from the roads and a few hundred Afghan troops that were more of a babysitting case than true partners. Such a light American footprint on at least part of the battlefield would “put an Afghan face” on the operation, as the lingo went at the time.
As the Special Forces soldiers wore Afghan Army uniforms, the Taliban concluded that there were virtually no Americans on their southern flank. The fighting there was intense. Having secured a defensive position in the heart of the Balakino Bazaar (picture the Bakara market in the film Black Hawk Down, but more impoverished) the Special Forces team, led by a captain named Matt Golsteyn, repeatedly attempted to expand their footprint, but regularly met fierce resistance. On the 20th, one of the team’s assaults into Taliban territory took a turn for the worse. An Afghan soldier was wounded and a vehicle got stuck in the mud as insurgents raked the coalition formation with gunfire.
Under heavy fire, Golsteyn, as Dan Lamothe of the Washington Post summarized this week, “ran about 150 meters to the trapped MRAP to retrieve a powerful 84mm Carl Gustav recoilless rifle, an anti-tank weapon. While moving under gunfire, he coordinated a medical evacuation for the wounded Afghan soldier and then opened fire with the Carl Gustav.”
Running through the open despite the fact that the Taliban had successfully pinned down the rest of his men, Golsteyn looked like he “was alone fighting 30 enemy fighters out in the poppy fields.” He then coordinated airstrikes from F/A-18 Hornets and a drone, silencing the enemy. The battle lasted four hours. For his actions, Golsteyn was awarded the Silver Star, and was told that the medal would likely be upgraded to the Distinguished Service Cross (the Army’s equivalent of the Navy Cross, and second only to the Medal of Honor) after review by the Secretary of the Army. I can confirm that this was true because I was present at the ceremony where Golsteyn received his Silver Star, and personally overheard Lieutenant General John Mulholland, then the commander of the Army’s Special Operation’s Command, say that an upgrade was under consideration. |U.S denies Jordan request for drones against ISISPosted: 06 Feb 2015 07:28 AM PST
The Obama administration this year turned down a request from Jordan for Predator spy drones that would help it locate targets in the war against the Islamic State. The refusal, disclosed by a House Armed Services Committee member, has gained attention since Jordan has emerged as a critical player in a U.S.-led coalition to destroy the Islamist terrorist group in the days after it released a video of its execution by fire of a captured Jordanian military pilot. Jordan retaliated Thursday with F-16 airstrikes on the Syrian town of Raqqa and is vowing a relentless war against the Islamic State, also known as ISIL and ISIS. Members of Congress are calling on the White House to approve a list of weapons for King Abdullah II, a strong U.S. ally. Rep. Duncan Hunter, California Republican, sent a letter Thursday asking President Obama to approve the transfer of the Predator’s unarmed export version for surveillance missions. “The decision to deny the license request should be reversed immediately,” Mr. Hunter wrote. “Doing so will provide Jordan critical mission capability in the fight against the Islamic State and ensure Jordan is given every advantage. “Jordan has made requests for specific resources, including ammunition,” Mr. Hunter said. “Given our mutual interests, and our strong relationship, it’s absolutely critical that we provide Jordan the support needed to defeat the Islamic State.” Jordan borders Iraq and Syria, where the Islamic State controls wide stretches of territory, including key Iraqi cities in the north and west. “Jordan is uniquely positioned to support and perhaps lead the fight against the Islamic State, and it’s now our obligation to offer Jordan our full support in this effort,” Mr. Hunter said. American Predators are playing a large role in a U.S.-dominated air campaign, firing Hellfire missiles as well as conducting sustained surveillance over Islamic State strongholds. Jordan is not the only world hot spot where the Obama administration has turned down allies’ requests for weapons. More
|Hollande and Merkel fly to Russia for crisis talks amid growing fears of ‘Total War’Posted: 05 Feb 2015 08:59 PM PST
BREAKING NEWS – The leaders of Germany and France abruptly announced a summit with the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, in Moscow on Friday in response to overtures from the Kremlin, raising hopes of a breakthrough in the year-old Ukraine conflict. The sudden and unusual decision by the chancellor, Angela Merkel, and the president, François Hollande, to travel to Moscow, with the French leader talking of decisions of war and peace, increased the stakes in the crisis while also raising suspicions that the Kremlin was seeking to split Europe and the US. Putin was said to have made “initiatives” to the European leaders in recent days. Merkel and Hollande met the Ukrainian president, Petro Poroshenko, in Kiev on Thursday evening but left without making any comment. Ukraine’s foreign minister, Pavlo Klimkin, said on Twitter that the leaders had discussed “steps so that the Minsk agreement can start working”. A ceasefire signed in Minsk in September froze the frontlines at their positions at the time, but never held. Friday’s visit will be Merkel’s first trip to Russia since the outbreak of violence in eastern Ukraine, which has now cost more than 5,000 lives. The increase in diplomatic efforts came as the US secretary of state, John Kerry, also met Poroshenko and other top officials in Kiev. At a joint news conference with Ukraine’s prime minister, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Kerry sounded lukewarm about Merkel and Hollande’s visit. He said Putin had sent “a couple of ideas” to France and Germany, and the pair had come up with a counter-proposal, but he did not give details. Kerry also said the US wanted a diplomatic solution but was reviewing all options including “the possibility of providing defensive systems to Ukraine”. EU diplomats and officials said that growing US talk of arming Ukraine was pushing the Russians and Europeans towards a diplomatic deal, with both sides keen to avoid weapons deliveries but also to keep the US on the sidelines of the diplomacy. Still More On The Body And The Bride
Q. Is the Body of Christ the same as the Bride of Christ? It seems in Philippians 3:10-11 that Paul makes a distinction between the two words for “resurrection” found in both verse 10 and 11. Could there be a “taking out of” that first resurrection of the Body to create the Bride? Another thought: when God created a bride for Adam, He took her “out of” his body.
Waiting Upon The Lord
Q. Would you please tell me what it means to wait upon the Lord” Thanks.
A Sequel To The Bible
Q. In the 1000 year reign of Christ, do you think there will be a sequel to the Bible to prepare us for eternity. I can’ t imagine what eternity would be like if time is a creation of God. Jesus said in John’s gospel that there is more to know but we can not bear it now. I know that one reason for the millennial reign is to prove that man is still sinful even without Satan’s influence. Perhaps the real reason for the literal 1000 year reign of Christ is to bring him glory, which is long overdue.
