President Obama will send Congress the outline for legislation to give him new authority to use military force against Islamic State extremists, touching off a debate on the U.S. role in the Middle East for years to come.

First lady Michelle Obama says that the new school lunch standards that mandate servings of fruit and vegetables and limit the amount of sodium, sugar and fat will eventually become accepted as the norm by school kids. “We’re really thinking about the kids who are kindergartners today. If all they know are whole grains and vegetables, by the time they’re graduating from high school, this will be their norm; they won’t know anything different.”

Bobby Jindal on Monday attacked Common Core, the national education standards supported by likely presidential rival Jeb Bush, as “a top-down, factory based approach” to schooling. “I think that repealing Common Core is very important. Let’s allow the parents to make the best decision for their sons and daughters. … We need to take power away from the federal government.”

Ukrainian troops began a new offensive and their main eastern headquarters suffered a rocket attack before European diplomats gathered in Belarus for a peace summit to stem 10 months of bloodshed.

Russia is in good company, with five peers in double-digit inflation territory. Argentina probably will have about 22.5 percent inflation this year, and Ukraine is headed for 17.5 percent price growth. Egypt and Ghana also sit in the two-digit club, with 10.6 percent and 13.2 percent estimates, respectively. All are dwarfed by Venezuela’s 72.3 percent projected price growth in 2015.

If You Listen Carefully, The Bankers Are Actually Telling Us What Is Going To Happen Next

Are we on the verge of a major worldwide economic downturn? Well, if recent warnings from prominent bankers all over the world are to be believed, that may be precisely what we are facing in the months ahead. As you will read about below, the big banks are warning that the price of oil could soon drop as low as 20 dollars a barrel, that a Greek exit from the eurozone could push the EUR/USD down to 0.90, and that the global economy could shrink by more than 2 trillion dollars in 2015. Most of the time, very few people ever actually read the things that the big banks write for their clients. But in recent months, a lot of these bankers are issuing such ominous warnings that you would think that they have started to write for The Economic Collapse Blog. Of course we have seen this happen before. Just before the financial crisis of 2008, a lot of people at the big banks started to get spooked, and now we are beginning to see an atmosphere of fear spread on Wall Street once again. Nobody is quite sure what is going to happen next, but an increasing number of experts are starting to agree that it won’t be good. (Read More….)

America’s Colleges Have Become Political Correctness Indoctrination Centers

Most parents assume that when they send their kids to college that they will receive training which will prepare them for a lifetime of employment. Sadly, the truth is that very little time is actually spent imparting practical skills to students at most of America’s colleges. Instead, an extraordinary amount of classroom time is spent telling students what they should think and what they should believe. At this point, most institutions of “higher learning” in this country have been transformed into political correctness indoctrination centers. There is a reason why college towns have a reputation for being extremely liberal. The truth is that they are bastions for “progressive” thought. Each and every day, millions of young adults all across America are literally being systematically brainwashed. In case you are wondering, I know what I am talking about. I spent eight years getting three degrees at public universities. And it doesn’t even really matter what area of the country you attend school. The “education” that students are receiving at schools in very liberal states is virtually the same as the “education” that students are receiving at schools in very conservative states. Our young adults represent the future of this nation, and they are receiving a level of indoctrination that is so comprehensive that it would make Joseph Goebbels proud. (Read More…)

Paris Attack Just a Random Shooting, Says Obama

Not only does Barack Obama refuse to admit that ISIL and its ilk are driven by Islamic ideology, he can’t even say that the group has a hit list. After an Islamic militant captured shoppers in a Jewish market in Paris, killing four Jews, Obama basically likened it to a group of gangsters roughing up Katz Deli in New York City. In an interview with Vox, Obama said, “It is entirely legitimate for the American people to be deeply concerned when you’ve got a bunch of violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris. … It is right and appropriate for us to be vigilant and aggressive in trying to deal with that — the same way a big city mayor’s got to cut the crime rate down if he wants that city to thrive.” But combatting Islamic extremism isn’t the same as keeping the peace as the Italian Mafia and Russian thugs battle over who gets to collect trash and distribute cocaine. Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer asserted, “The reason [Obama] doesn’t have a strategy [to fight radical Islam] is because he thinks there is no need for a strategy because it is random violence.” Either Obama is deluding himself, or he brought political obfuscation to the next level. ‘Settled Science’ and Data Tampering

Arctic sea ice was supposed to have melted by now. Polar bears extinct. Sea levels at devastating highs. Civilization on the cusp of socioeconomic disaster. Alarmists’ predictions never materialize, but doom is looming, they assure us. Interestingly, the diabolical Leftmedia never question the various narratives, but when it comes to evidence of scientific fraud they act like it’s simply part of the process necessary to narrow down the preconceived day of Climate Armageddon. The federal government is actively manipulating global temperature data to fit the narrative, which London Telegraph writer Christopher Booker reminds us “is the biggest science scandal ever.” In fact, he notes, “When future generations look back on the global-warming scare of the past 30 years, nothing will shock them more than the extent to which the official temperature records — on which the entire panic ultimately rested — were systematically ‘adjusted’ to show the Earth as having warmed much more than the actual data justified.” The science is “settled,” the Left lectures. So long as you ignore massive collusion and fraud.

The Myth of the One-in-Five Statistic Grows

As Mark Twain observed, there are lies, damned lies and statistics. Barack Obama dished out all of it in a PSA about sexual violence that ran during the Grammy Awards. He claimed, “Right now, nearly one in five women in America has been a victim of rape or attempted rape. And more than one in four women has experienced some form of domestic violence.” The lie works because it’s repeated — often. So for the viewers who just wanted to witness Sam Smith sweeping Grammy win after Grammy win, the statistic sounded true. Last summer, commentator George Will questioned the one-in-five statistic of rape on college campuses, arguing it was so inflated and didn’t make any logical sense that it was only good as government propaganda. Furthermore, Washington Examiner commentator Ashe Schow notes that Obama not only repeated a suspect statistic, but he stretched the truth even further. The statistic was traditionally used by progressives to talk about rape on college campuses. But then Obama went and applied it to all women in the United States. After all, he’s got a “war on women” to maintain. More…

House GOP Works on Life-at-Conception Bill

In the wake of the House debacle over the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, a group of 50 Republicans is working an another bill to establish life at conception. Rep. Alex Mooney (R-WV) explains, “There are thousands of unborn babies who need us to fight tirelessly on the issue of human life. I cannot think of a more important role for a benevolent society than to offer protection for the right to life of the most vulnerable among us.” Republicans see an opening in none other than the reasoning behind the majority opinion in Roe v. Wade. Justice Harry Blackmon wrote, “If this suggestion of personhood is established, the appellant’s case [i.e., “Roe”], of course, collapses, for the fetus’ right to life is then guaranteed specifically by the [Fourteenth] Amendment.” It’s guaranteed Barack Obama will veto the bill, but it’s worth putting our representatives on the record regarding the clear science of when life begins. If Democrats claim to be the Party of Science™, this shouldn’t be a difficult question.

Hotline for Illegals, Not So Much for Vets

The Department of Homeland Security set up a hotline for people who believe their rights have been violated. Illegal aliens who believe so, that is. In the wake of Barack Obama’s amnesty, U.S. Customs and Border Protection advised illegals to “please tell us about your experience” if they feel they’ve been treated “contrary to the new DHS enforcement priorities.” Shawn Moran, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council, says it’s an insult: “Instead of supporting our agents, this administration has decided it is more important to find new ways to solicit complaints and invite ridicule against them.” Meanwhile, compare that “customer service” to the treatment of veterans. There are hundreds of thousands of veterans awaiting help from the Department of Veterans Affairs in a variety of ways, from home-loan assistance to disability benefits to health care. Veterans quickly became far too familiar with the incredible lack of responsiveness by the VA. It is a near impossibility to actually reach a human being at the VA by telephone, and, if you ever do, good luck getting anything useful out of them. To see such shameful treatment of our veterans while Obama’s administration is placing funds into a program designed to assist people here illegally is beyond appalling. More…

Projecting Weakness Won’t Bring Peace

For the first time since 2010, Barack Obama has released an updated National Security Strategy (NSS), an overview of threats to U.S. national security and establish a strategy for mitigating those threats. Not surprisingly, Obama’s NSS fails to identify several real threats or set a good course for maintaining security.

Anyone who has been remotely paying attention to world events knows there are several legitimate national security threats. One is the rise of the Islamic State, which continues to slaughter innocents and create major instability in the Middle East.

While the NSS identifies the Islamic State as a threat, Obama still fails to identify Islamic extremism and Islamic terrorism as a threat to the United States and the rest of the free world. Instead, the word “Islamic” is replaced by the word “violent.” Nowhere in the document can it be seen that violent extremism is perpetrated at the hands of Islamists.

Nile Gardiner of The Heritage Foundation notes, “The document steadfastly refuses to identify the ideological nature of the foe the United States is confronting, a brutal and vicious adversary that has made huge gains in Iraq and Syria under Obama’s watch. … Nor does the document outline a concrete strategy for defeating Islamist terrorism, from Iraq to Nigeria and Pakistan to Yemen.”

Releasing this NSS without acknowledging radical Islam as a threat isn’t naïve — it’s absurd. Why can’t Obama for once call our enemies what they are? We have heard him call ISIL “the JV team,” hail Islam as the “Religion of Peace™,” and insists that the Islamic terrorist attacks in Paris were just random shootings. Moreover, he still insists pulling our troops out of Iraq was the right thing to do even though it left a vacuum for the Islamic State to fill, and therefore negated almost everything for which our troops bled and died.

And now that we’ve left, Obama will reportedly seek an authorization for the use of military force against ISIL.

Meanwhile, a second threat is Iran — that is, a nuclear-armed Iran. The NSS mentions the ongoing negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program and the administration’s goal of reaching a nuclear accord. Why is Obama so adamant about helping Iran acquire nuclear capabilities even though the nation’s leadership vowed to destroy Israel and the United States?

While the commander in chief appeases Iran, Houthi rebels, a terrorist militia in Yemen reportedly backed by Iran, have essentially taken over the Yemeni government. Soft diplomacy doesn’t work when dealing with radical Islamists.

Furthermore, Thomas Donnelly of The Weekly Standard writes, “[T]he most revealing section is that which asserts the administration’s determination to ‘lead with a long-term perspective.'” If leading by long-term perspective means waiting until the next president takes office to battle our real enemies, then Obama is well on his way because the new strategy doesn’t clearly define who our enemy is.

So far, Obama’s diplomatic efforts have failed. All the while, he has downsized the military in the face of growing threats. Our military remains technologically superior, albeit with a smaller force.

To make matters worse, veteran journalist Bob Woodward claims several of our top commanders complain “there is no strategy” and that they are being “micromanaged” by people in the White House — including National Security Advisor Susan Rice. Yep, the same Susan Rice involved in the Benghazi talking points fiasco. If this is the case, then it’s no wonder our top commanders are unclear on Obama’s strategy.

Overall, the new NSS dismisses radical Islam as a threat and aims to tolerate a nuclear powered Iran. Instead of following Ronald Reagan’s proven strategy of peace through strength, Obama has decided that our nation will follow his strategy of peace through weakness. So far, it hasn’t worked. But it seems he will continue on this path until we elect a president who knows that our greatest national security threat isn’t the changing climate.

Is Hillary Really Inevitable?

It looks as if Hillary Clinton is going to wait until summer to formally announce her inevitable presidential campaign. Her team originally looked at April as a jumping off point, but is now waiting until July. Team Hillary will use this time to work on assembling staff (and keeping them from resigning) and developing her platform. Because she hasn’t had enough time to finish that homework.

Unlike the Republican presidential field, which is well populated and already out on the trail, Clinton is facing little opposition among Democrats. She can afford to take her time in making her announcement. The only serious name that keeps coming up as a challenger is Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). (We know, we left Joe Biden off the “serious name” list.) Despite a growing attempt to draft Warren, she has remained relatively silent on the matter.

The danger Clinton faces with a dearth of challengers is that her nomination will look more like a coronation. That’s what she and her supporters expected in 2008, but we all know how that turned out.

Iowa Democrat activist Anne Kinzel says, “The hacks think Hillary is entitled to be president. I think she is one of those people who has lost the sense of why they are in politics.” That sentiment seems to be spreading.

Former Obama adviser David Axelrod told USA Today that Clinton has to project a fresh message about where she wants to take the country: “I think she has to approach the campaign like a challenger, not like a front-runner — like an insurgent.” Odd advice for a woman who has been plotting a White House run since at least 2000, and perhaps 1993 if you consider that whole “co-presidency” thing her and Bill had going on.

Clinton’s operation, whenever it kicks in, will not leave anything to chance. Fundraising, public appearances and media relations will all be well orchestrated. It’s Clinton’s truckloads of political baggage that will be the problem.

One interesting tidbit that recently surfaced thanks to Axelrod’s upcoming memoir was Clinton’s plan to get John Edwards out of the 2008 race by offering him the attorney general slot in exchange for his endorsement. This was before Edwards’ career went up in smoke thanks to his own scumbag behavior. He cheated on his wife while she was dying of cancer, fathered an illegitimate child and lied about it, and then used campaign funds to support his mistress and cover it all up. Yeah, he would’ve made a great AG.

We can’t be sure how Clinton would have handled the Edwards debacle when it did blow up, and it would have sooner or later. There’s little doubt the Leftmedia will circle the wagons rather than ask Clinton about her 2008 plans for Edwards. After all, it doesn’t exactly burnish her credentials as a champion of women’s causes — especially after she stood by her man, Bill, for little other reason than vain ambition. But at this point, what difference does it make, right?

Columnist Arnold Ahlert: “Right now there is more than $1 trillion dollars of outstanding student debt, with each student from the class of 2013 amassing an average of $28,400. The current default rate has fallen to 13.7 percent from 14.7 percent the previous year, but the Obama administration was still forced to raise its estimated cost for student loans by $22 billion. Why? Because the Obama administration is rigging the payback system. ‘The government is on pace to forgive billions of dollars more in student loans than previously thought as droves of borrowers enroll in federal repayment plans,’ the Wall Street Journal reports. The additional $22 billion is needed ‘due to plans that peg monthly student-loan payments to borrowers’ income and permit balances to be forgiven in as little as 10 years.’ That’s not a repayment plan. It’s nothing more than welfare, ultimately backed up by the taxpayer. Why the taxpayer? Because universities themselves have no skin in the game. They get paid in full, no matter how many students default on their loans. And that’s because the Obama administration nationalized the student loan program in 2010 — as part of ObamaCare, no less. So what do universities who have no worries about the bottom line do? Pay professors more. Hire legions of worthless ‘diversity’ specialists that now inhabit the bureaucracies of campuses across the nation. Build more expensive and fancier campus facilities designed to attract more students — all of which contribute to tuition costs that are completely out of control.”

Columnist Burt Prelutsky: “[I]f those who follow Islam are as peace-loving as those who are Christians, why is it that so many senseless murders are accompanied by shouts of ‘Allah Akbar!’ and so rarely by anyone referencing Jesus Christ? Furthermore, if those shouting ‘Allah Akbar’ as they mow down, behead and crucify infidels aren’t — as Obama and other liberals insist — true Muslims, how is it the pinheads are always so quick to label those who kill abortionists true Christians? And if we’re all the same under our skins, how it is that only the Islamics regard rape and the aforementioned crucifixions and beheadings, as a natural instrument of warfare? For that matter, how is it that some of us regard dogs as members of our family while others, who are allegedly our civilized equals, regard them as merely an optional source of protein? No matter what the adolescent ‘Kumbaya’ crowd says, there are savages who would be right at home in the eighth century all around the planet. They are as different in every way that matters from us as we are from a field of cow pies. And I, for one, say: ‘Viva la difference!'”

US Media Blackout: Italian Courts Rule Vaccines Cause Autism

Posted: 10 Feb 2015 07:59 AM PST

US Media Blackout: Italian Courts Rule Vaccines Cause AutismOn September 23, 2014, an Italian court in Milan award compensation to a boy for vaccine-induced autism.  (See the Italian document here.)  A childhood vaccine against six childhood diseases caused the boy’s permanent autism and brain damage.  While the Italian press has devoted considerable attention to this decision and its public health implications, the U.S. press has been silent.

Like the U.S., Italy has a national vaccine injury compensation program to give some financial support to those people who are injured by compulsory and recommended vaccinations. The Italian infant plaintiff received three doses of GlaxoSmithKline’s Infanrix Hexa, a hexavalent vaccine administered in the first year of life.  These doses occurred from March to October 2006. The vaccine is to protect children from polio, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B, pertussis and Haemophilus influenza type B.  In addition to these antigens, however, the vaccine then contained thimerosal, the mercury-containing preservative, aluminum, an adjuvant, as well as other toxic ingredients.  The child regressed into autism shortly after receiving the three doses.  When the parents presented their claim for compensation first to the Ministry of Health, as they were required to do, the Ministry rejected it.  Therefore, the family sued the Ministry in a court of general jurisdiction, an option which does not exist in the same form in the U.S.

Based on expert medical testimony, the court concluded that the child more likely than not suffered autism and brain damage because of the neurotoxic mercury, aluminum and his particular susceptibility from a genetic mutation.  The Court also noted that Infanrix Hexa contained thimerosal, now banned in Italy because of its neurotoxicity, “in concentrations greatly exceeding the maximum recommended levels for infants weighing only a few kilograms.”

Presiding Judge Nicola Di Leo considered another piece of damning evidence: a 1271-page confidential GlaxoSmithKline report (now available on the Internet).   This industry document provided ample evidence of adverse events from the vaccine, including five known cases of autism resulting from the vaccine’s administration during its clinical trials (see table at page 626, excerpt below). America Hell-Bent on War: 80-Year-Old Analyst Has Never Been More AfraidPosted: 10 Feb 2015 07:53 AM PST

America Hell-Bent on War: 80-Year-Old Analyst Has Never Been More Afraid“I’m 80 years old. I was never scared throughout the Cold War years. I’m very scared now.” That is what Stephen Lendman, a Research Associate for the Centre for Research on Globalization told Sputnik in an exclusive interview regarding recent developments related to the military conflict in Ukraine. As the Normandy Four are set to meet in Minsk on Wednesday to discuss possible ways out of the deteriorating military conflict in eastern Ukraine, Stephen Lendman forecasts that the US won’t drop its idea of waging a full-size war in the region. Washington under the Democrats or Republicans wants war, not peace, he said. “In the post-9/11 era alone, not a single day of peace has followed. Multiple US direct and proxy wars rage. US Special Forces (trained killers) operate covertly and overtly in over 130 countries disruptively.”

He says that “Merkel and Hollande (Germany and France) are bedrock US-dominated NATO members.” “Ignore what they say publicly; follow what they do,” he advised. “Throughout the Ukrainian crisis, they haven’t gone their own way against Washington…nor has Britain’s David Cameron.” “I’m sure Merkel and Hollande tried to get Putin to largely bend to Washington’s will; in other words, [they] do nothing to stop its chokehold on Ukraine, including NATO forces encroaching on Russia’s borders.” America maintains an empire of bases in over 150 countries, he added, noting that Russia and China are increasingly surrounded by US bases, which he called “so-called defensive missiles for an offense target: their heartlands.” Washington wants all sovereign independent governments eliminated, Lendman stated. “Replaced by pro-Western stooge ones. America’s ultimate aim is unchallenged global dominance; it’s willing to wage wars to achieve its objectives.”The political analyst said that wars are hugely profitable. “The US-banker led war lobby demands them. Peace is anathema. Putin is right: Russia has been targeted for centuries, more than ever now since Hitler’s Barbarossa campaign.”

Regarding the role the US left for Russia, Lendman forecast the following. Washington wants to plunder Russia’s resources,” he said. “Exploit its people. Balkanize the country like Yugoslavia for easier control.” “America ousted Ukraine’s legitimate government,” in “the most brazen European coup since Mussolini’s 1922 march on Rome. Neo-Nazi thugs run things”, Lendman said of the 2014 Maidan events, calling the post-Maidan government there mob rule. “War policy is made in Washington.” “CIA, FBI and US Special Forces infest Kiev: Top US officials like Joe Biden, John Kerry, Victoria Nuland and John Brennan show up to deliver marching orders.” “Kiev is a hotbed of fascist, militant gangsterism, murdering its own citizens in Donbas [for] wanting only democratic rights free from Kiev-style tyranny.” More

Invasion Imminent: Jordan Stations “Thousands” Of Troops On Iraq BorderPosted: 10 Feb 2015 06:59 AM PST

Invasion Imminent: Jordan Stations "Thousands" Of Troops On Iraq BorderBREAKING NEWS – Jordan announced it has deployed “thousands” of ground troops to its border with Iraq as it ramps up a campaign against ISIS militants, two Jordanian government officials told NBC News on Tuesday. As NBC reports, the troops were sent to prevent the infiltration of ISIS fighters into Jordan and as a show of force, according to the sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. In other words, what would formerly have been seen as an overt act of territorial incursion, or as it is also known, a sovereign invasion, is now interpreted as a defensive act, one seeking to “prevent” infiltration by the same ISIS, that only exists due to US intervention in Syria in 2013.

Jordan’s King Abdullah last week threatened to make ISIS pay for the death of Muath al-Kasasbeh’s after video of the military pilot’s murder emerged. He vowed to wage a “harsh” war against ISIS “because this terrorist organization is not only fighting us, but also fighting Islam and its pure values.” Abdullah also pledged to hit ISIS militants “hard in the very center of their strongholds.” One wonders why the need for the land grab, pardon, defensive incursion, when as previously reported, Jordan has already unleashed up to 20 missions per day by Jordanian jets targeting the militant group’s positions in Syria.  “We are determined to wipe them from the face of the Earth,” Maj. Gen. Mansour al-Jobour told NBC News on Sunday, citing the need for “revenge” after al-Kasabeh’s killing. That much is clear. The question is what else is Jordan “determined” to do once it has military boots on the ground first in Iraq and soon, inevitably, in Syria which as a reminder, is what this is all about. More

Meteorologists Warns of “Defcon 1″ Snow Storm Headed to New England!Posted: 10 Feb 2015 06:52 AM PST

Meteorologists Warns of "Defcon 1" Snow Storm Headed to New England!I have officially run out of ways to discuss and describe this winter. By now you have likely been hit with a thousand different numbers and graphs.
Top 10 snowiest winter. Two top 10 storms in the last three weeks. Snowiest February on record. . . yadda yadda yadda. . . the beat goes on and on.
The history books are literally being rewritten over the last 3 weeks. I find it incredible to think that just 20 days ago we had just 5” of snow for the season and now we are completely and utterly buried. We are dumping snow in “snow farms” and in the Atlantic Ocean. Day and night dump trucks are hauling snow out of the city and yet we just cannot keep up. More than once I have woken up and wondered if the last few weeks had really happened. I mean really? More snow in 17 days than in any 20, 30 or 40 day stretch in history? More snow in 17 days than we get in a full season and a half? What is more believable, that or the Patriots winning their fourth Super Bowl thanks to a rookie most of us have never heard of making a miraculous interception with seconds to go from the 1 yard line? You could have told me this whole story three weeks ago and I would have said you are nuts. Well, 6 feet of snow later and one Patriots parade through the streets of what looked like Alaska and what do you know. . . miracles do happen. Records are made to be broken. Or should I say shattered, annihilated, destroyed… We have clearly passed the fun and pretty stages of snowfall here in Southern New England. We have also blown right through the disruptive and downright annoying level as well. We are reaching DEFCON 1 in a hurry. Your grandparents can no longer tell you any stories about how high the snowbanks were “in their day” or tell you that “you have never seen a real winter”. You are now living it. We are in THAT story. We are the lead to the national news. It isn’t in Buffalo or North Dakota, it is right here, in our backyards. And unfortunately there is more to the story… More

Jewish and Gentile Apostolic Ministries Unite in the One New Man

Posted: 10 Feb 2015 06:42 AM PST

Jewish and Gentile Apostolic Ministries Unite in the One New ManRecently in the city of Nazareth, Israel, where Yeshua/Jesus started His ministry, two of the more prominent apostolic ministries in the body of Messiah/Christ met to sign a significant document on the reconnection between Jew and Gentile in the Spirit. As the last days approach us, it is evident that if there were more healing between the two groups—especially from within the church—that there would be greater understanding and more tolerance of the roles between Jew and Gentile in the body. The meeting between Che Ahn from Harvest International Ministries and Dan Juster and Eitan Shiskoff from Tikkun International Ministries took a huge step in that direction and helps to recognize many of the issues from our past and present that keep the two groups divided—to help foster greater love and unity in the family of God.

HIM Ministries is one of the largest-growing church groups in the world with associations with over 30,000 churches and ministries. HIM has a significant focus on releasing church ministry back into the five-fold and is experiencing tremendous growth in this area. Tikkun International Ministries with its apostolic leadership fully established in the land of Israel is associated to numerous Messianic Congregations in the United States, as well as in many other parts of the world and is seeking to broaden its messianic appeal by working with the local churches throughout the Nations.

The meeting was put together by author Grant Berry of Reconnecting Ministries. He recently introduced his latest book on the reconnection (The Ezekiel Generation published by Destiny Image), and also writes for Charisma News’ Standing With Israel section. Berry is associated to both apostolic groups and recently felt a directive from the Holy Spirit to help bring them together to more fully recognize the great significance of this spiritual reconnection between Jew and Gentile in the body. One of the great challenges of the one new man teaching that Yeshua/Jesus brought about through the cross and resurrection (Eph. 2:14-22) is that there are numerous interpretations of it in the church and messianic bodies, and many in the family of God hold rigidly to their differing theologies. Astonishing 1968 Prophecy by 90-Year-Old Woman

Posted: 10 Feb 2015 06:35 AM PST

Astonishing 1968 Prophecy by 90-Year-Old WomanAn old woman of 90 from Valdres in Norway had a vision from God in 1968. The evangelist Emanuel Minos had meetings (services) where she lived. He had the opportunity to meet her, and she told him what she had seen. He wrote it down, but thought it to be so unintelligible that he put it in a drawer. Now, almost 30 years later, he understands he has to share the vision with others.

The woman from Valdres was a very alert, reliable, awake and credible Christian, with a good reputation among all who knew her. This is what she saw:

“I saw the time just before the coming of Jesus and the outbreak of the Third World War. I saw the events with my natural eyes. I saw the world like a kind of a globe and saw Europe, land by land. I saw Scandinavia. I saw Norway. I saw certain things that would take place just before the return of Jesus, and just before the last calamity happens, a calamity the likes of which we have never before experienced.

She mentioned four waves:

1. “First before Jesus comes and before the Third World War breaks out, there will be a ‘détente’ like we have never had before. There will be peace between the super powers in the east and the west, and there will be a long peace. (Remember, that this was in 1968 when the cold war was at its highest. —E. Minos) In this period of peace there will be disarmament in many countries, also in Norway and we are not prepared when it (the war) comes. The Third World War will begin in a way no one would have anticipated—and from an unexpected place.

2. “A lukewarmness without parallel will take hold of the Christians, a falling away from true, living Christianity. Christians will not be open for penetrating preaching. They will not, like in earlier times, want to hear of sin and grace, law and gospel, repentance and restoration. There will come a substitute instead: prosperity (happiness) Christianity.

“The important thing will be to have success, to be something; to have material things, things that God never promised us in this way. Churches and prayer houses will be emptier and emptier. Instead of the preaching we have been used to for generations—like, to take your cross up and follow Jesus—entertainment, art and culture will invade the churches where there should have been gatherings for repentance and revival. This will increase markedly just before the return of Jesus.

3. “There will be a moral disintegration that old Norway has never experienced the likes of. People will live together like married without being married. (I do not believe the concept ‘co-habitor’? existed in 1968. —E. Minos.) Much uncleanness before marriage, and much infidelity in marriage will become the natural (the common), and it will be justified from every angle. It will even enter Christian circles and we pet it—even sin against nature. Just before Jesus’ return there will be TV programs like we have never experienced. (TV had just arrived in Norway in 1968. —E. Minos)

“TV will be filled with such horrible violence that it teaches people to murder and destroy each other, and it will be unsafe in our streets. People will copy what they see. There will not be only one ‘station’ on TV, it will be filled with ‘stations.’ (She did not know the word ‘channel’ which we use today. Therefore she called them stations. —E. Minos.) TV will be just like the radio where we have many ‘stations,’ and it will be filled with violence. People will use it for entertainment. We will see terrible scenes of murder and destruction one of the other, and this will spread in society. Sex scenes will also be shown on the screen, the most intimate things that takes place in a marriage.” (I protested and said, “We have a paragraph that forbids this kind of thing.” —E. Minos.) It will happen, and you will see it. All we have had before will be broken down, and the most indecent things will pass before our eyes.

4. “People from poor countries will stream to Europe. (In 1968 there was no such thing as immigration. —E. Minos.) They will also come to Scandinavia and Norway. There will be so many of them that people will begin to dislike them and become hard with them. They will be treated like the Jews before the Second World War. Then the full measure of our sins will have been reached (I protested at the issue of immigration. I did not understand it at the time. —E. Minos.)

The tears streamed from the old woman’s eyes down her cheeks. “I will not see it, but you will. Then suddenly, Jesus will come and the Third World War breaks out. It will be a short war.” (She saw it in the vision.)

“All that I have seen of war before is only child’s play compared to this one, and it will be ended with a nuclear atom bomb. The air will be so polluted that one cannot draw one’s breath. It will cover several continents, America, Japan, Australia and the wealthy nations. The water will be ruined (contaminated?). We can no longer till the soil. The result will be that only a remnant will remain. The remnant in the wealthy countries will try to flee to the poor countries, but they will be as hard on us as we were on them. More

What Caused this Mysterious Ring in Antarctica?Posted: 10 Feb 2015 06:29 AM PST

What Caused this Mysterious Ring in Antarctica?Ever since its discovery was announced earlier this year, the 3 km-wide ring structure discovered on the of Antarctica has been a source of significant interest and speculation. Initially, the discovery was seen as little more than a happy accident that occurred during a survey of East Antarctica by a WEGAS (West-East Gondwana Amalgamation and its Separation) team from the Alfred Wegener Institute.

However, after the team was interviewed by the Brussels-based International Polar Foundation, news of the find and its possible implication spread like wildfire. Initial theories for the possible origin of the ring indicated that it could be the result of the impact of a large meteor. However, since the news broke, team leader Olaf Eisen has offered an alternative explanation: that the ring structure is in fact the result of other ice-shelf processes.

As Eisen indicated in a new entry on the AWI Ice Blog: “Doug MacAyeal, glaciologist from the University of Chicago, put forward the suggestion that the ring structure could be an ice doline.” Ice dolines are round sinkholes that are caused by a pool of melt water formed within the shelf ice. They are formed by the caving in of ice sheets or glaciers, much in the same way that sinkholes form over caves.

“If the melt water drains suddenly,” he wrote, “like it often does, the surface of the glacier is destabilised and does collapse, forming a round crater. Ice depressions like this have been observed in Greenland and on ice shelves of the Antarctic Peninsula since the 1930s.”

However, in glaciers, these cavities form much more rapidly, as the meltwater created by temperature variations causes englacial lakes or water pockets to from which then drains through the ice sheet. Such dolines have been observed for decades, particularly in Greenland and the Antarctic Peninsula where the ice melts during the summertime.

Initial analysis of satellite images appear to confirm this, as they indicate that the feature could have been present before the supposed impact took place around 25 years ago. In addition, relying on data from Google Maps and Google Earth, the WEGAS (West-East Gondwana Amalgamation and its Separation) team observed that the 3 km ring is accompanied by other, smaller rings. Russia Vows Swift Retaliation if the U.S Arms Ukraine!

Russia Vows Swift Retaliation if the U.S Arms Ukraine! Despite President Obama’s claim on Monday that he has not yet made a decision about supplying defensive weapons to the Ukrainian army, which is battling Russia-backed separatists who want an independent region within that country, the Russian media is full of predictions. They’re warning of the terrible impact further U.S. involvement in the conflict might have. Quoting a member of the Russian Defense Ministry’s public advisory board who requested anonymity, The Moscow Times reported Monday that if the U.S. supplied arms to Ukraine, it would be viewed as an act of war. That action would not only increase the tension in the region, it would also force the Kremlin to “respond asymmetrically against Washington or its allies on other fronts,” the publication reported.  Evgeny Buzhinsky, a former lieutenant general in the Russian Army who is now at the Moscow-based PIR Center, told the publication, “Russia would reasonably consider the U.S. to be a direct participant in the conflict.” Also on Monday, the government-owned news agency ITAR-TASS reported that Vitaly Churkin, Russia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, said, “We see major pressure on the issue in the United States, especially in Congress.” “If the U.S., following a request from the Ukrainian government, starts supplying weapons to Kiev, it will violate a number of international documents,” Churkin said. “The U.S. has repeatedly chosen a graded approach to rules of international law.” The government news agency also quoted Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, as calling the U.S. position a bluff. “It is just a kind of poker bidding up, it is a bluff, an attempt to press Putin to be more tractable,” Bortnik reportedly said.  Will the U.S. supply arms to Ukraine? “Of course not,” Bortnik told TASS. “It might trigger an arms race bound to end up in Ukraine’s complete military defeat.” Bortnik and his organization, it should be noted, are difficult to find in news archives, except in stories published by Russia’s government-friendly media. The Obama administration’s position on arming Ukraine is actually still far from clear. While Obama held open the possibility during Monday’s joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, who arrived in Washington, D.C. Sunday evening, he was also dismissive of the Ukrainian army’s ability to effectively counter a “determined” Russian advance. U.S. aid, Obama suggested, would be aimed at raising the costs to Russia of further aggression, not actually preventing it entirely. More

Does Iran signal ‘End Time Prophecies? Christian apologist thinks soPosted: 10 Feb 2015 06:15 AM PST

Does Iran signal 'End Time Prophecies? Christian apologist thinks soWhile Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may not have been able to convince US President Barack Obama that Iran poses an existential threat to Israel, he does have at least one person who shares his viewpoint. Christian apologist Don Stewart believes that the New Testament suggests that Iran, together with Russia, poses a major threat not only to Israel, but to the United States as well. The Christian Post quoted Stewart as saying that Ezekiel 38 contains a prophecy in which Persia (modern day Iran), and Rosh, apparently Russia, have a military alliance in “the last days.” Stewart argued that Iran, as Shi’ites, believe that they “are divinely ordained” to have nuclear weapons. Netanyahu may not believe in “the Rapture” or the prophecies in the New Testament, but in Stewart, he has found a partner in his fears of Iran. Stewart for his part, however, thinks that it is prophecy being fulfilled rather than something that can be stopped by further sanctions or the threat of military action. “It’s like we are seeing foreshocks of a powerful earthquake that is ready to happen. The prophetic events are like dominoes closely stacked together. When the first domino falls, the others will fall in short order.” The Jerusalem Post

Mark Levin: Obama ‘Is Building the Iranian Islamo-nazi Caliphate’

Posted: 10 Feb 2015 06:07 AM PST

Mark Levin: Obama ‘Is Building the Iranian Islamo-nazi Caliphate’While innocent people are being slaughtered in the Middle East and Africa by Islamist radicals, not unlike when the Jews were being rounded up and killed by the Nazis, President Barack Obama is “barely” responding and is instead negotiating with Iran and “building the Iranian Islamo-nazi caliphate,” said best-selling author and nationally syndicated conservative talk radio host Mark Levin.

Levin further said that the pressure is on to “destroy” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu because he was invited to speak before Congress by Republican leader John Boehner and, in his remarks, “might offend the Islamo-nazi regime in Tehran” and “offend Obama.”

“The way Marx put it is you have to destroy the existing society,” said Levin on his radio program on Feb. 5. “So, Obama looks at the Middle East and he says, look, just because Republican and Democrat presidents in the past, Republican and Democrat Congresses in the past have conducted themselves pretty much the same way doesn’t mean I’m going to.” “You know what Obama’s doing today?” said Levin. “He is building the Iranian Islamo-nazi caliphate. And I’ve been talking about this forever.”

A caliphate is an Islamic government that, in general, rules over large swaths of territory. The Islamic State, for instance, wants to impose a caliphate throughout the Middle East and destroy the state of Israel. Ultimately, their goal and that of millions of Muslims, is to establish a global caliphate: Islamic governments across Europe, Africa, the Far East and even the United States and Canada.

“It’s not just ISIS, although that would be bad enough,” said Levin. “We have competing crusades going on. And I don’t care about the Christian Crusade! Were not going to debate that today. What the heck does that have to do with anything? So now we’re supposed to chase history, and explain why there was a Christian Crusade? I’ve explained this before. The Christians rose up after hundreds of years of having enough of the Muslims.”

“Meanwhile, while Obama takes us into academic land, and wrongly so, people are being slaughtered,” Levin continued. “It would be as if FDR gave a speech to the nation, becoming aware of the rounding up of Jews, the beginning of the driving them into the concentration camps, slaughtering them in ovens and gas chambers and he wants to have a chat — about what? — German history. Jewish history.” More

Gallup CEO: I May ‘Suddenly Disappear’ for Telling Truth About Obama Unemployment Rate

Just about a week ago, the CEO of the Gallup polling firm, boldly stated that the White House was lying about the “real” unemployment rate.

He made his claim quite clear after displaying a chart which showed that the numbers are not reflecting people who have given up looking for work. He claimed that there were other factors that were skewing the WH official unemployment rate as well.

But on Sunday, the head of the well known polling firm backpedaled on his claim.

“Jim Clifton, the Chairman and CEO of Gallup, recently told CNBC that he was worried he might “suddenly disappear” if he disputed the accuracy of what the U.S. government is reporting as unemployed Americans, Wall Street on Parade reported.”

“I think that the number that comes out of BLS [Bureau of Labor Statistics] and the Department of Labor is very, very accurate. I need to make that very, very clear so that I don’t suddenly disappear. I need to make it home tonight.”

His appearance on CNBC came days after he claimed the official unemployment rate being trumpeted by the White House, Wall Street and the media is a “big lie.”

“None of them will tell you this: If you, a family member or anyone is unemployed and has subsequently given up on finding a job — if you are so hopelessly out of work that you’ve stopped looking over the past four weeks — the Department of Labor doesn’t count you as unemployed,” the venerable firm’s chief executive officer and chairman last week wrote in his blog.

Right now, as many as 30 million Americans are either out of work or severely underemployed. Trust me, the vast majority of them aren’t throwing parties to toast ‘falling’ unemployment.”

The McAvany Intel Memo

[Continuing last week’s discussion of the US’s tendency to betray its allies over time.]

For decades (1953-1980), Yugoslavia was run by a strongman/dictator – Marshal Tito. There were always warring factions in the Balkans (think Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Herzegovina, Slovenia, etc.) but Tito kept the disparate factions apart and when necessary cracked some heads or shot a few thousand troublemakers to maintain the peace and stability – which he did from 1953 until his death in 1980. But when Tito died, the stability he had maintained through brute force disappeared overnight, the seven states of Bosnia, Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Herzegovina, Slovenia, etc. broke out in wars, and the next two decades saw non-stop violence, conflict, and upheaval. Tito had kept a lid on all of that, and when he departed, all hell broke loose.

Fast-forward to 2003 in Iraq: Fundamentalist Shiites ruled in Iran (from the 1979 US betrayal of the Shah forward). They had launched an eight-year war (1980-1988) against Iraq, which was headed by Saddam Hussein, an ally of the US who was armed by America. That war (after the loss of over a million lives on both sides) ended up in a stalemate. But, it was well established that Saddam Hussein and Iraq were the buffer that could stop the spread of radical Shiite fundamentalism out of Iran and across the entire Middle East.

Saddam Hussein was a secular Sunni Muslim (a strongman/dictator much like Marshal Tito in Yugoslavia) who ruled over disparate factions in Iraq. Iraq was/is made up of three major factions divided along religious lines: Shiites – 60% of the population – mostly in Southern Iraq; Sunnis – 20% of the population – mostly in Central Iraq; and Kurds – 20% of the population – mostly in Northern Iraq (also known as Kurdistan). These factions were always at odds with each other, but Iraq’s strongman (Saddam Hussein) kept them apart from each other – using brutal strong arm tactics as Tito had done in Yugoslavia to keep those factions from blowing up the country and going to war with each other – as is happening now.

Though Saddam was from the minority Sunnis (i.e., a minority in Iraq but a majority throughout the Middle East and globally) the Sunnis were the efficient technocrats, administrators, and military leaders. The Shiites were the less educated, more fundamentalist Muslims and more sympathetic to their Shiite co-religionists in Iran. The Kurds (to the north) are more moderate, more pro-western, and have long desired an independent Kurdistan (i.e., their own country). Not only did Saddam keep the opposing factions apart – thereby insuring stability, but Iraq under Saddam was a secular Muslim state (as opposed to a Fundamentalist Muslim state operated under Sharia law – such as Iran and as Obama is trying to establish now in Egypt, Syria, and Libya).

There was always a minority of radical fundamentalists in both the Sunni and Shiite groups, but they were kept well under control in Saddam’s secular Iraq. In fact, under Saddam Hussein, there was more freedom of religion than almost anywhere in the Muslim Middle East. Indeed, under Saddam Hussein, Christians were allowed to hold Easter services on national television and Christian churches flourished in Iraq – free to worship God openly as they saw fit without government interference. Today, in Shiite-controlled Iraq, Christian churches can no longer function openly, and Christians are being martyred for their faith by the hundreds. (This is also happening in Syria, where the fundamentalist insurgents Obama is supporting are butchering Christians by the thousands.) [This was written before the current ISIS offensive caused some changes in US Policy, but obviously and accurately describes the anti-Christian actions of the fanatic Muslim rebels in Syria.]

Gallup CEO On The Big Lie on Unemployment | Worldview Weekend

Jim Clifton, the Chairman and CEO of Gallup, says that the percentage of Americans that are employed full-time has been hovering near record lows since the end of the last recession. But most Americans don’t realize this because the official unemployment numbers are extremely misleading. In fact, Clifton says that the official 5.6 percent unemployment rate is a “big lie”. Gallup regularly tracks the percentage of U.S. adults that are employed for 30 or more hours per week, and it is currently at 44.2 percent. It has been hovering between 42 percent and 45 percent since the end of 2009. This is extremely low. As I discussed the other day, there are 8.69 million Americans that are considered to be “officially unemployed” at this point. But there are another 92.90 million Americans that are considered to be “not in the labor force”. Millions upon millions of those Americans would work if they could. Overall, there are 101 million U.S. adults that do not have a job right now. But you won’t hear that number being discussed by the mainstream media, because it would make Barack Obama look really bad.

Ex-Muslim Imam Writes Open Letter To Obama Rebuking Him On History Of Islam

Because of Muhammad’s example, Muslims have justifiably wiped out 270 million non-Muslims in their endeavors to establish the world Islamic government their prophet viciously commands.

Dr. Mark Christian, founder of Global Faith Institute, knows Islamic history too well, being an apostate from the Muslim faith himself. Having experienced the true nature of Islam firsthand as a devout Imam, Dr. Christian penned a fiery open letter to the American leader, that includes a blunt history lesson in the unchanging goal of ancient Islam. Here is his letter to President Obama:

President Obama… I realize you thought you were brave and courageous when you defamed Christianity by equating the Crusades and the Inquisition with the present-day barbarism of Islam, but I wonder if your “courage” goes so far as to blame Muslims for the Islamic conquests? Do you have the guts to tell them that in the name of Allah, they invaded nations, practiced ethnic and cultural cleansing, going so far as to erase the very history of conquered lands. Can you tell them that they changed languages and names, enslaved millions and killed an unknowable number of innocent souls simply because they worshiped God, and not “Allah?”. I think not. You know Christians will bow their heads and pray for you whereas Muslims will simply take your head and celebrate.

ISIS is not animated by the usual “reaction to oppression” narrative the Left trots out as an excuse for every instance of horrible behavior, whether that behavior is rioting in Ferguson, Missouri or the systematic slaughter of all those opposed to your ideology.

ISIS is animated entirely by Islam. The manner in which they kill – prescribed and outlined in the Koran. The way they make war – prescribed and outlined in the Koran. The way they treat prisoners – also prescribed and outlined in the Koran.

You see, the problem isn’t a “radical interpretation of Islam,” the problem is the belief in Islam that Mohammed was the “perfect man,” and as such, worthy of emulation in all things.

Until Islam can recognize that their “perfect man” wasn’t perfect, and both did and ordered horrible things to be done – certainly things that have no place in a modern world – then there will always be an ISIS. There will always be those who dedicate their lives to imitating the man who spawned the greatest killing machine in known history…Islam.

Mike Konrad, the pen name of a colleague at American Thinker, has done the math for us in a remarkably cogent piece that deserved far more attention than it received when first published in early 2014.

The President drew a moral equivalence argument at this year’s National Prayer Breakfast between the predation of Islam and the actions of Christians during the Crusades and the Inquisition. The President is not uneducated. He is surely aware of the speciousness of that argument, yet still proffered it as a back-handed justification of the profane brutality of ISIS and other Islamic supremacist groups.

When we think of genocide, the names that spring to mind are Hitler, Stalin and Pol Pot. Of course Mao and his utopian fantasies deserve a place alongside the other luminaries of human devastation; millions suffered and died because of these men.

But, when one looks a bit deeper we discover that when it comes to dealing death, the aforementioned dictators are mere peddlers compared to Islam. People forget that the Islamic conquests began 400 years before the Crusades, which were largely a response to Islamic aggression…

Why do you hate me so much?

As we experience an unprecedented level of hatred and hostility towards Christians today, we find ourselves asking continually, “Why do you hate us so much?”

Politicians, judges, journalists, producers, educators, and many others are sympathetic to, and tolerant of, every kind of false religion and every kind of perversity, except when it comes to Christian teaching and values. Then the sharpest knives are out.

And we ask again, “Why do you hate us so much?”

We pay our taxes, we pray for our leaders, we give generously to charities, we volunteer in local schools and community projects, we love and educate our children, we feed the homeless, we send millions of dollars and thousands of people abroad to help needy nations, and make many other positive contributions to society and the world.

What have you done?
So why do you keep lining up against us and lining up with those who do little or nothing for society or the needy? You love the new atheists, the philosophers, authors, and comedians who launch vile diatribes against Christians and their God. Why doesn’t someone somewhere ask these elite men and women, who have devoted their lives to destroying Christianity, “What have you ever done for the poor? How much money and time do you devote to your neighbors, your community, the poor at home and abroad?”

And yet, it’s us you hate? Why?

R C Sproul supplies the best explanation for this seemingly irrational enmity in chapter 4 of The Holiness of God. He gives two examples, first the Peter Principle and then the Curve-Breaker.

Why the Crusades & Inquisition don’t belong in a discussion of Christianity

And why it doesn’t matter what Obama said…

The Battle of Ager Sanguinis, medieval miniature

On February 5, 2015 Obama gave an address at the National Prayer Breakfast. He said of people who seek to “hijack religious for their own murderous ends”,

“Lest we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.”

There was enormous outcry over Obama’s likening of Christianity to terrorist Muslims. There have been many Op-Ed pieces, reaction articles, and blogs published over it.

Even reformed pastor-blogger Tim Challies linked to Professor of Medieval History Thomas Madden’s piece, in which Madden said both the Crusades and the Inquisition

“were initiated by popes, the unquestioned leaders of Western Christianity.”

Kings and popes. Professor Madden set forth a response placing the Crusades in historical context as part of Christianity. Madden said the first Crusade was called in 1095 by Pope Urban II. Remember, Tim Challies linked to the piece in his daily A La Carte segment.

Russell Moore, president of the Southern Baptist Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission said Obama’s words were “an unfortunate attempt at a wrongheaded moral comparison,” He continued, “The evil actions that he mentioned were clearly outside the moral parameters of Christianity itself.”

That’s because the evil actions that happened in the Crusades and the Inquisition were not part of Christianity at all. In a CNN interview discussing Obama’s remarks, Russell Moore took issue with Obama’s statement solely on the front of its moral equivalency, saying it was wrong to compare ISIS with Christianity, and it would be the same as if Roosevelt had stood up and said “Pearl Harbor was a day that will live in infamy, except let’s remember we surprised the British at Yorktown too.”

A 19th-century depiction of Galileo before the Holy Office, by Joseph-Nicolas Robert-Fleury

All of this is moot. Wrong. Of no consequence. It. does. not. matter. Why? Of the reactions I’ve read from both political leaders and religious leaders, none have stated the obvious. The Crusades and the Inquisition were Catholic events. The Catholic popes started them and Catholics carried them out.

Catholics are not Christians. The First Crusade was Papal response to Muslim aggression, especially the first crusade which sought to retake Jerusalem from Muslim hands. The First Crusade was followed by the Second to the Ninth Crusades. In all cases, the Catholic popes’ thrust was to forcibly defend against Muslim invasion. The Catholic popes have the Inquisition on their hands also.

Catholics follow a false god and their doctrine is not the saving doctrine of Jesus’ Christianity.

Catholic dogma is not of Jesus and is in fact of satan, just as the Muslim dogma is.

The worst comparison Obama made in his speech was not Christianity to ISIS, but Catholicism to Christianity. If people would take issue with THAT, it would really be doing something for the name of Jesus.

A Presidential Blunder: My Response to Obama’s Address at the National Prayer Breakfast

President Barack Obama’s address at the National Prayer Breakfast on February 5, 2015 has reverberated through the corridors of the world and provoked shock and dismay in numerous quarters. Even a professor at the University of London commented on his shallow understanding of the Crusades. I hesitated to write anything on the subject because it would drag me into politics or into a sobering critique of Islam. I am not sure that at a time like this either distraction would be wise, so let me keep it to the minimum.

Ravi Zacharias castigates President Obama’s reference to the Crusades

Hijacking Christianity to Defend Islam

by Frank Turek

President Obama has hijacked Christianity in an attempt to defend Islam. At the National Prayer breakfast Thursday, he said, “There is a tendency in us, a sinful tendency, that can pervert and distort our faith.” And that there will always be people willing to “hijack religion for their own murderous ends.” So we shouldn’t “get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place—remember that during the Crusades and the Inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ.”

Yes, people have done terrible deeds in the name of Christ, but they were against the teachings of Christ. Some of the Crusaders committed atrocities that couldn’t be more contrary to the teachings of Christ. They were the ones who “hijacked” a religion, Christianity, by disobeying what Christ taught.

But contrary to the president’s assertions, this is not the case with Islam. Islam is not being “hijacked”—it is being obeyed. The terrorists are following the teachings of the Qur’an and the example of Muhammad.

What Were the Crusades? Busting Some Myths

by Lenny Esposito

Just what were the Crusades? In his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast yesterday, President Obama likened the evil savagery that ISIS has been perpetrating in the name of Islam to Christianity and the Crusades. First, it makes no sense to with a wave of one’s rhetorical hand dismiss one evil because of another. In logic, that is known as the tu quoque (Latin for “you too!”) fallacy. Yet, there is another problem with the president’s comparison: it’s based on a very common, very popular, but very wrong misconception about what the Crusades were about and what actually happened historically.

I want to take a moment to play myth-buster and show why the modern assumptions are very much backwards and why the Crusades are not parallel with the ISIS killings we read in the headlines today.

Katy Perry: God Told You What?

by Bill Muehlenberg

I would like to begin this piece by informing you that God spoke to me. Yes he did, and this is what he told me: “Bill I want you to know that adultery is just peachy.” And this is not the first time he has spoken to me and reassured me that what I am doing is right.

In the past, he has also told me this:
-“Bill I want you to know that murder is just peachy.”
-“Bill I want you to know that theft is just peachy.”
-“Bill I want you to know that lying is just peachy.”
-“Bill I want you to know that homosexuality is just peachy.”

OK, I better make a quick confession here: God actually did not tell me this things. It would be impossible for God to tell me such things because it is impossible for God to lie. It is impossible for God to cease being holy, righteous and pure. So of course he would ever tell anyone to do anything contrary to who he is and what he has revealed to us in his Word.

So if you ever here someone telling you that God told them to sin or break his commandments or do something which violates his character, you better avoid that person like the plague. Well, sadly, it seems that this very thing has just happened with pop princess Katy Perry. As one report states:

In his recent blog essay, Dr. R. Albert Mohler, Jr. responds to recent comments made by President Obama at the National Prayer Breakfast. Mohler writes:

“And yet, at virtually every turn, President Obama and his administration remain determined not to mention Islam in any negative light, and even to redefine some acts of terror committed in the name of Islam as ‘workplace violence.’ His refusal to acknowledge the worldview of those who declare themselves to be our enemies is neither intellectually honest nor safe. It is a theological disaster, but it is a foreign policy disaster as well.”

Does the Existence of Evil Prove or Disprove God?

Thomistic Bent

Many have used the existence of evil in the world to try to argue that an all-powerful, all-good God does not exist. The line of reasoning usually goes something like this:

1. If there is an all-powerful and all-good God then no evil exists.
2. Evil exists.
3. Therefore an all-powerful and wholly good God does not exist.

Sometimes another conclusion is added:

4. If a God does exist that allows evil, he would not be worthy of worship.

Few people will actually deny premise 2. Although such atheists as Richard Dawkins tell us that the universe has no evil nor good, they turn right around and call religion evil. The focus is instead on premise one, arguing that an all-powerful and all-good God would not allow evil such as we witness regularly in the world. The practical, everyday conclusion by many is:

1a. Since evil exists, God must not…

The Cripplegate: The Early Church & the Deity of Christ (Reprise)

crown_2Did the early church believe in the deity of Christ?

Ask your average Muslim, Unitarian, Jehovah’s Witness, or just about any non-Christian skeptic who has read (or watched) The Da Vinci Code, and they’ll try to convince you the answer is no. From such sources we are told that the deity of Christ was a doctrine invented centuries after Jesus’ death — a result of pagan influences on the church in the fourth century when the Roman Empire adopted Christianity as its official religion.

Emperor Constantine, in particular, is blamed for being the guy who promoted Jesus to the level of deity, a feat of cosmic proportions that he managed to pull off at the Council of Nicaea in 325. As Dan Brown put it (through the lips of one of his literary characters): “Jesus’ establishment as ‘the Son of God’ was officially proposed and voted on by the Council of Nicaea. . . . By officially endorsing Jesus as the Son of God, Constantine turned Jesus into a deity who existed beyond the scope of the human world, an entity whose power was unchallengeable” (The Da Vinci Code, 253).

So how can believers answer such allegations?

Twenty Ways to Answer A Fool [12]

bigbroDoes Christianity model authoritarian organizations?

I continue once again considering the list of 20 Reasons to Abandon Christianity compiled by blues guitar playing, Christ-hating anarchist, Chaz Bufe.

Thankfully, he provides us another short point that will require a short response:

14. Christianity models hierarchical, authoritarian organization. Christianity is perhaps the ultimate top-down enterprise. In its simplest form, it consists of God on top, its “servants,” the clergy, next down, and the great unwashed masses at the bottom, with those above issuing, in turn, thou-shalts and thou-shalt-nots backed by the threat of eternal damnation. But a great many Christian sects go far beyond this, having several layers of management and bureaucracy. Catholicism is perhaps the most extreme example of this with its laity, monks, nuns, priests, monsignors, bishops, archbishops, cardinals, and popes, all giving and taking orders in an almost military manner. This type of organization cannot but accustom those in its…

The Significance of Sin (Carson)

The Reformed Reader

Fallen: A Theology of Sin (Theology in Community) Don Carson’s contribution to the book, Fallen: A Theology of Sin, is an excellent piece in which he talks about the significance of sin in Scripture and life.  Near the beginning of the essay he says,

“There can be no agreement as to what salvation is unless there is agreement as to that from which salvation rescues us.  The problem and the solution hang together: the one explicates the other.  It is impossible to gain a deep grasp of what the cross achieves without plunging into a deep grasp of what sin is; conversely, to augment one’s understanding of the cross is to augment one’s understanding of sin.”

Carson goes on in the article to lay out and explain some theological structures that are shaped by what the Bible teaches about sin – and that therefore shape our understanding of sin.  Here they are:

1) Sin is tied to passages…
