House Republicans are proposing to cut $5.5 trillion in U.S. government spending and balance the budget in nine years by cutting Medicaid and food stamps and partially privatizing Medicare.
House Republicans will try to ease their party’s tension over a tight Pentagon spending cap by budgeting at least $90 billion for a special war-funding account that isn’t subject to the limit.
Unlike other congressional committees, the one investigating the deadly 2012 attack in Libya doesn’t have a spending cap. It’s authorized to spend “such sums as may be necessary” to carry out its duties. The tally: $1,795,017 from the time the panel began work in May through the end of 2014. More than three-fourths of the total went to compensate staff.

Is this any way to run a nascent presidential campaign? It took Hillary Clinton three days to challenge the story that her “personal” emails were deleted without anyone even reading them. Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill released a statement claiming that when they said keyword searches were used to determine which emails to keep it wasn’t the only method they employed. “[I]n wanting the public to understand how robust of a search was conducted, the fact sheet laid out several examples of the methods used by the reviewers to double and triple check they were capturing everything,” he said. “It was not meant to be taken as a list of every approach performed to ensure thoroughness. Those subsequent steps were in addition to reading them all, not in lieu of reading them all. (No different than our explaining such terms were used but not listing every search term used.) We simply took for granted that reading every single email came across as the most important, fundamental and exhaustive step that was performed. The fact sheet should have been clearer every email was read, which we are doing now.” They assumed everyone would trust Hillary’s judgment. But, as the saying goes, you know what you get when you assume… More…
George W. Bush decided that the Office of Administration was exempt from Freedom of Information Act requests, despite the office having abided by the law for 30 years. Barack Obama’s administration has continued the Bush administration’s practice, and, in fact, the White House just made the policy official. USA Today notes, “[T]he timing of the move raised eyebrows among transparency advocates, coming on National Freedom of Information Day and during a national debate over the preservation of Obama administration records. It’s also Sunshine Week, an effort by news organizations and watchdog groups to highlight issues of government transparency.” Not only that, but the Office of Administration handles White House record keeping, including email, making the timing especially ironic during a firestorm surrounding Hillary Clinton’s corrupt email practices. So, once again, it’s plain that The Most Transparent Administration in History™ is about as see-through as a brick wall. More…
Congressional Republicans certainly have their work cut out for them. Today, the House Committee on the Budget, headed by Dr. Tom Price of Georgia, released its proposed budget that sets forth a Republican agenda for how the federal purse is to be spent. The budget, steeped in the fiscal influence of Rep. Paul Ryan, cuts spending by $5.1 trillion and slashes additional debt in 10 years. ObamaCare would be repealed and the caps on defense spending would be lifted. But such a proposal could be controversial even among Republicans because it pits war hawks like Sen. John McCain, who vehemently opposed the sequestration of defense spending, against Republicans who prioritize a tight fiscal policy in all quarters. Last month’s fight to fund the Department of Homeland Security while defunding Barack Obama’s executive actions on immigration showed that congressional Republicans face a double enemy — fratricidal infighting and an authoritarian executive. But a budget is a worthy goal (exactly why Harry Reid blocked one for so many years), and we’re glad to see the Republican majority finally starting to lead. More…
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush isn’t likely to win over many grassroots conservatives with his stance on immigration. But he knows that and isn’t even bothering to try. He sounded off on what to do with illegals already in the country, saying, “It’s easy to say, ‘Well, anything you propose is amnesty,’ but that’s not a plan. That’s a sentiment; that’s not a plan. I think the best plan, the most realistic plan — the grown-up plan, if you will — is once you control the border and you’re confident it’s not going to be another magnet, is to say, ‘Let’s let these folks achieve earned legal status where they work, where they come out of the shadows.'” He’s right in that dealing with illegals already here is the most difficult part of immigration reform, and there are few, if any, satisfactory plans to do so. We’ll give Bush marks for consistency, but he would do far better to try to win converts than to belittle as children those on his own side who disagree with his approach. That’s what leftists do.
It’s just going to be that much harder to get some authentic Seattle salmon. Due to the city’s minimum wage hike that’s set to slam the city April 1 (April Fools!), Seattle restaurants are closing because they can’t pay workers the $15 an hour minimum wage. Seattle Magazine reports, “Washington Restaurant Association’s [Anthony] Anton puts it this way: ‘It’s not a political problem; it’s a math problem.’ He estimates that a common budget breakdown among sustaining Seattle restaurants so far has been the following: 36 percent of funds are devoted to labor, 30 percent to food costs and 30 percent go to everything else (all other operational costs). The remaining 4 percent has been the profit margin, and as a result, in a $700,000 restaurant, he estimates that the average restaurateur in Seattle has been making $28,000 a year.” While restaurants are not the economic lifeblood of any city, a city without good food is tasteless. This is a tangible example of what’s happening to Seattle’s economy with a government-mandated wage. More…

Check out If Reagan Were Still President….
The Justice Department recently announced plans to crack down on campaign finance coordination between candidates and outside groups. Not satisfied with the job the Federal Election Commission is doing to keep candidates from leveraging independent political groups, Justice said it will investigate such cases and “aggressively pursue coordination offenses at every appropriate opportunity.”
The Wall Street Journal explains, “Under federal law, a campaign expenditure is illegally coordinated when it meets certain tests for content and conduct. The content of an ad must either advocate for a candidate or mention the candidate by name in the 60 days before a general election. The conduct amounts to illegal coordination if there is material involvement or substantial discussion between a [political action committee] and a candidate regarding that election-related content.”
Proving coordination can be difficult, but starting an investigation can be alarmingly easy. All that’s needed is an allegation that two people talked who shouldn’t have — then government lawyers can come in and comb through files, computer drives and bank accounts with the full power of the FBI behind them.
Is there really a rash of corrupt coordination taking place between political candidates and PACs? What kind of widespread corruption would warrant the Justice Department taking such sweeping actions? “The opportunity to commit crime has increased dramatically,” said DOJ spokesman Peter Carr. Oh, the opportunity. But what about actual crime?
Well, the total number of such cases DOJ opened since the Supreme Court’s Citizens United ruling on campaign finance has plummeted, as has the total amount of fines collected. According to the DOJ’s statist mindset, that could only mean missed opportunities to shakedown political opponents.
GOP members of the FEC claim the lower number of investigations indicates people are following the rules, though Democrat members believe Republicans must be getting away with something. You can imagine which side the DOJ will come down on.
Richard Pilger, head of the DOJ’s Election Crimes Branch, supports pursuing coordination investigations. The outcome of an FEC investigation could lead to fines or even jail time.
Incidentally, Pilger was the DOJ official who in 2010 reached out to the IRS’s Lois Lerner — remember her? — about prosecuting nonprofits that engaged in fraud on their tax returns. Lerner ended up sharing protected taxpayer data on a number of nonprofit groups — coincidentally, all of them supported conservative causes. Talk about coordination.
In fact, Barack Obama’s 2012 election victory could largely be attributable to the IRS’s targeting of his political opponents.
Lerner’s activity and the DOJ’s open-ended persecution of political groups are both far bigger threats to free political speech than any phone call or backroom meeting between a candidate and a PAC. The government, whether it’s through the IRS or the Justice Department, bullies organizations into silence by tangling them in bureaucratic red tape, threatening jail or fines, or simply gumming up the works with extended investigations. And it’s no coincidence that a vast majority of these organizations fall on the opposite side of the political spectrum than the White House, Lerner or Pilger. The Left hates free political speech coming from the Right. And leftists will use any available tool to silence it.
|Reid’s black eye|
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) announced that the Senate will not vote on Barack Obama’s nomination of Loretta Lynch to take over Eric Holder’s position as attorney general until Democrats start cooperating on a human trafficking bill. Your move, Harry Reid.
Senate Democrats are furious over some of the language included in the trafficking bill, claiming they didn’t know it contained the Hyde Amendment, which stipulates the bill may contain no federal funding for abortions. So far, they’ve blocked a vote on it.
They didn’t know it contained this language? That’s a bit absurd considering that the trafficking bill contains the same language that was part of the legislation from the beginning. Furthermore, the Hyde Amendment has been a common addition to spending bills since 1976. Perhaps Democrats decided to read the bill this time — a novel idea for them.
Senate Minority Leader Reid gave his two cents, blustering, “Any attempt to hold a confirmation vote hostage because of this abortion provision is a sham.”
So says the man who spent his entire time as majority leader holding House legislation hostage.
John Cornyn (R-TX) noted, “When we offered them an opportunity to offer an amendment to change [the abortion language], they said: ‘No, we don’t want an amendment. We don’t want to change it by a vote of the Senate. We just want to block the bill.'”
The fact Democrats will not vote for a trafficking bill simply because it includes language blocking federal funding for abortion — language they helped pass before — reveals how twisted their minds are when it comes to the issue of life. Just as revealing of their warped thinking is that they are more concerned about voting on the Lynch nomination than they are about trafficking or protecting life.
And the street doesn’t run both ways. If Republicans were to block a bill on trafficking for any reason, Democrats and their Leftmedia lemmings would quickly label them “pro-trafficking.”
National Review’s Joel Gehrke writes, “[This is] the same tactic that Democrats used to kill the Department of Homeland Security appropriations bill in order to avoid taking a vote on House-passed language targeting President Obama’s executive orders on immigration with a tweak: Democrats allowed the debate on human trafficking to begin, but they won’t offer an amendment during the debate to get rid of language they oppose.” Yet somehow they continue to get away with painting Republicans as the party of “no.”
McConnell is playing his cards right this time. And if he stands firm by holding off the vote on Loretta Lynch until Democrats cooperate and pass the human trafficking bill, then Republicans will have finally stood on principle against Democrats. If McConnell succeeds, then one has to ask, why in the world didn’t he use it on the DHS/executive amnesty bill?

Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965): “The price of greatness is responsibility.”
Columnist Arnold Ahlert: “Anyone still remember the left’s apoplexy when they discovered Richard Nixon had an enemies list? Last week, I named three people I suspected might be on Barack Obama’s equally contemptible equivalent. They were Hillary Clinton, Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. One week later that educated guess is looking like a stone cold winner. … Hillary flounders, Menendez squirms and Netanyahu’s fate may have been sealed by Obama’s campaign allies. And the see-no-Obama-evil American media maintains its calculated disinterest because they are as invested in Obama’s deal with Iran — and the self-aggrandizing nonsense about achieving a ‘historical legacy’ that accompanies it — as the Obama administration itself is. … They will do whatever they want, by any means necessary, and they dare anyone to stop them. Those who try will undoubtedly make themselves as targetable as Clinton, Menendez and Netanyahu. That’s because Barack Obama … is Richard Nixon. On steroids.”
Columnist Michael Barone: “The president has made it clear he won’t submit any agreement [with Iran] to Congress for approval, and his spokesmen have made feints at suggesting he would seek approval, in the hopes of some measure of permanence, by the United Nations Security Council. He is evidently ready to acquiesce to an expansion of Iranian power in the Middle East and a green light for Iran to obtain a bomb in 10 years, on the assumption that the character of the regime has changed sufficiently to render it tolerable. Neither Saudi Arabia and other Arab neighbors nor Israel considers that desirable. Neither do most of members of Congress or, to judge from polls, most American voters. This is not the first time a Congress has been at odds with a president’s foreign policy and has tried to push back. That was the case in back in 2007 and 2008, when most members of the Democratic Congress opposed George W. Bush’s surge strategy in Iraq, which contrary to their predictions, succeeded. Barack Obama threw that victory away and now seems complacent about Iran’s advances beyond its borders. Telling Iran’s leaders that most in Congress and most Americans disagree and that an agreement may not last is just highlighting what should be obvious.”

Another victory has been claimed by an atheists as reports indicate that a Texas principal who quotes Scripture over the intercom during the morning announcements will no longer do so after a prominent atheist activist group sent a letter of complaint about the matter. As previously reported, according to KETK-TV, an anonymous student at White Oak High School recently contacted atheist blogger Hemant Mehta after recording Principal Dan Noll quoting from the Bible during the announcements. The practice reportedly goes back to the 1970’s according to former alumni. “He who leads upright along an evil path will fall into his own trap, but the blameless will receive a good inheritance,” Noll read from the book of Proverbs in one of the announcements. “The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.” Mehta then contacted the Wisconsin-based Freedom from Religion Foundation (FFRF) about the matter, which in turn sent a letter to the district, asking that it order Noll to cease and desist the practice. |US Intel Report Drops Iran From Terror Threat ListPosted: 17 Mar 2015 06:42 AM PDT
Would you be shocked if you found out that the United States Intel dropped Iran from their “Terror List” Threat? Well according to a new reort from Truth Revolt The most recent unclassified version of the Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US Intelligence Communities removed Iran and its proxy group Hezbollah from the list of terror threats. The report, published Feb 26, 2015, was delivered to the US Senate by National Intelligence director James Clapper. Despite Iran and Hezbollah being included for years as terror threats, the unclassified report conspicuously dropped them from its list amid the administration’s ongoing negotiations with Iran. The assessment cited Iran’s efforts to combat Sunni extremists, most notably those affiliated with the Islamic State, and the nation’s “intentions” to “dampen sectarianism, build responsive partners, and deescalate tensions with Saudi Arabia.” The Iran-funded Shiite Lebanese terror organization Hezbollah has been working against ISIS in Syria and Iraq, The report did warn, however, that some Iranian security leaders were “pursuing policies with negative secondary consequences for regional stability and potentially for Iran” and the nation’s aggressive support of Shia communities was “fueling growing fears and sectarian responses.” FULL REPORT

|Fukushima Radiation Found in Sample of Green Tea from JapanPosted: 17 Mar 2015 06:36 AM PDT
So just how disastrous is the results of the Fukushima disaster in 2011? Well according to a report four years after the multiple explosions and melt-downs at Fukushima, it seems the scary stories have only just begun to surface. Given that Japan’s authoritarian regime of Shinzo Abe has cracked down on the information flow from Fukushima with a repressive state secrets act, we cannot know for certain what’s happening at the site. We do know that 300 tons of radioactive water have been pouring into the Pacific every day. And that spent fuel rods are littered around the site. Tokyo Electric power may or may not have brought down all the fuel rods from Unit Four, but many hundreds almost certainly remain suspended in the air over Units One, Two and Three. We also know that Abe is pushing refugees to move back into the Fukushima region. Thyroid damage rates—including cancer—have skyrocketed among children in the region. Radiation “hot spots” have been found as far away as Tokyo. According to scientific sources, more than 30 times as much radioactive Cesium was released at Fukushima as was created at the bombing of Hiroshima. Some of those isotopes turned up in at least 15 tuna caught off the coast of California. But soon after Fukushima, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration stopped testing Pacific fish for radiation. The FDA has never fully explained why. FULL REPORT

|Church of England Pastor Welcomes Muslim Prayer ServicePosted: 17 Mar 2015 06:22 AM PDT
Churches around the World are continuing to compromise and worship at the altar of Baal! And a report coming out of England is yet another example of this! A Church of England vicar has come under fire for allowing a Muslim prayer service to be held in his church. Rev. Canon Giles Goddard joined in the “Inclusive Mosque” event at St John’s church, Waterloo, by reading part of Psalm 139 and giving thanks to “the God that we love, Allah.” The service included a traditional Islamic call to prayer, and was attended by dozens of Muslims. Rev. Goddard defended the move, saying: “We are offering a place for people to pray so it made absolutely perfect sense.” He claimed: “It is the same God, we share a tradition.” But evangelical C of E ministers have warned that the service is an affront to Christians around the world who are suffering for their faith. Rev. Robin Weekes, minister of Emmanuel Wimbledon, noted, “It is offensive to Christians who believe that there is only one God, who is the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. “And it is especially offensive to those who are being persecuted around the world for their faith in the uniqueness of Jesus Christ.” The Rev. Stephen Kuhrt, vicar of Christ Church, New Malden, said, “the vicar of St John’s Waterloo has done something that is completely illegal, which is to allow an Islamic service to be held in his church and then he has participated as well.” FULL REPORT

|EU calls for tracking computers in all vehicles to monitor, regulate travelPosted: 17 Mar 2015 06:16 AM PDT
The controlling surveillance state is deepening, prying further into people’s lives like a chisel carving its way through skin and bone. Governments have become opportunistic control freaks, centralizing their micromanagement powers whenever possible. Now the European Union is rolling out plans to monitor travel on all European roads, tracking drivers’ mileages and time traveled per vehicle. This controlling scheme is not for surveillance alone; it’s essentially a plan to tax every driver for the for the distance they travel on European roads. Could you imagine being taxed for every quarter-mile you drive? A senior European politician is doing just that, calling on all European vehicles to be installed with road-pricing systems. This would include mandatory installation of a computer that would track how long one has driven on European roads and how far. This plan would serve as a built-in tax, harmonizing all road toll charges across the EU. The plan would end road-side tollss and replace them with time-tracking and/or distance-tracking toll micromanagement systems. One of the plan’s advocates, Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc, is also trying to make the computer system as efficient as possible. She said that the EU travel regulations will put “a burden on car drivers” while becoming an “obstacle to their mobility.” FULL REPORT

|Thousands of geese fall from sky in IdahoPosted: 17 Mar 2015 06:10 AM PDT
Reports indicate that Avian cholera is suspected in the deaths of at least 2,000 snow geese that fell dead from the sky in Idaho while migrating to nesting grounds on the northern coast of Alaska, wildlife managers said Monday. Dozens of Idaho Department of Fish and Game workers and volunteers at the weekend retrieved and incinerated carcasses of snow geese found near bodies of water and a wildlife management area in the eastern part of the state, said agency spokesman Gregg Losinski. Avian cholera is believed to be the culprit in the deaths mostly because of the way the birds died, he said. “Basically, they just fell out of the sky,” said Losinski. He said biologists were awaiting results from a state wildlife lab to confirm the birds died of the highly contagious disease, which is caused by bacteria that can survive in soil and water for up to four months. According to experts Humans face a small risk of contracting the disease but the more immediate threat is to wildlife in the vicinity of contaminated carcasses, Losinski said. About 20 bald eagles were seen near areas where snow geese carcasses littered the ground but a lengthy incubation period makes it unclear if the eagles were infected and would carry the ailment elsewhere, said Losinski. |Holy Altar constructed for 3rd Jewish TemplePosted: 17 Mar 2015 05:17 AM PDT
Huge news is surfacing regarding Bible Prophecy as we are receiving reports out of Jerusalem this week that the Altar of the Lord has been reconstructed by the Temple Institute. The Institute, based in the Old City of Jerusalem, announced it has finished building an altar that is essentially “ready for use” in sacrificial services. The altar is the most ambitious project to date toward the goal of rebuilding the Jewish Temple. The massive outdoor altar, which took several years to build, can be operational at little more than a moment’s notice, reported the Israeli magazine Matzav Haruach. The altar is the last major component needed for the long-obstructed sacrifices to resume in a future Jewish temple. Ultra-Orthodox Jews pray daily for its reconstruction atop the holy hill known as Mount Moriah or the Temple Mount. Bible scholars say the rebuilding of the ancient temple is predicted throughout scripture, starting with Daniel’s vision in Daniel 9:27. Jesus echoed Daniel’s warning about an abomination standing in “the holy place” in the last days in Matthew 24:15, followed by the Apostle John’s vision of the Temple in Revelation 11:1-2. Paul mentioned it in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4. Most people don’t realize the temple had two altars — the altar of burnt offering and the altar of incense. The largest was the altar of burnt offering, placed in the outer court of the priests. Designing and building it to exact biblical specifications required quite an undertaking. FULL REPORT

Japanese Vice Defense Minister Kenji Harada characterized the security situation in East Asia as increasingly “severe” and warned that tensions with China over control of Japan’s Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea have reached menacing proportions. “It is extremely dangerous,” Harada said in an interview of China’s attempts to enforce an air defense zone covering the islands located west of Okinawa. Dubbing the Japan military buildup “integrated mobile defense,” Harada said, “we have to respond to the situation seamlessly and very readily.” Chinese ships and aircraft have stepped up intrusions into airspace and waters around the islands since the air defense zone was set up in 2013 covering the islands. Netanyahu Issues Prophetic Warning That “Jerusalem Will Be Divided” If Likud Loses Election
PM Netanyahu, speaking one last time before tomorrow’s election, is urging nationalists to vote Likud, saying that a left wing government in Israel will retreat along every front.
“I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.” Joel 3:2 (KJV)
Jerusalem, Israel – Ahead of tonight’s major nationalist rally in Tel Aviv, and just two days before general elections, Prime Minister and Likud party leader Binyamin Netanyahu spoke exclusively in English to Arutz Sheva, and appealed to right-wing voters to cast their ballots for Likud – saying only his party could prevent the establishment of a leftist government which would be essentially controlled by outside powers.

Netanyahu went on to say:
“We could ignite a great religious war against a billion Muslims,” by changing things, he warned. “I stand up for Israel, the Temple Mount is very dear to me… but I wouldn’t change the status quo and create a religious war.”
“I’m careful, I’m responsible. I’m an ardent Jewish patriot, I’m a Zionist, I’m a proud Jew – but I also have the responsibility as prime minister to do the right thing for the State of Israel and the continuation of the Jewish people.”
If Likud wins the elections, Netanyahu pledged to form “a nationalist government that is stable, and not a divided government in which the likes of Tzipi and Lapid undermine our position.”
“A nationalist government begins with a Likud victory,” he said.

Sen. Tom Cotton’s Bold, Brave Move With The Letter To Iran
This NTEB Feature Story was contributed by Terry James, of Rapture Ready
Sen. Tom Cotton and the other patriots are accused of being traitors by exposing President Obama’s “bad deal,” as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it in his speech to Congress on Tuesday, March 3.
EDITOR’S NOTE: Sen. Tom Cotton and 46 other GOP Senators did a bold, brave thing by exposing Obama’s duplicity to Iran’s leaders in the current Iran nuclear talks. Now they are branded being branded as “traitors” by the Liberal Left. It would seem that Anti-Americanism is the new patriotism in the Obama era.
Normally, I don’t like to get overly involved in the specifics of congressional matters. However, these courageous congressmen who are taking the full vitriol of liberal Democrats, mainstream press and liberal, pajama-boy social media types need to know that they are supported in what is perhaps the most dangerous threat the world has faced since the Cuban missile crisis –if Iran gets nuclear weapons and the capability to deliver them (which, they apparently already have).
God is in Control, but He expects us to make His Voice heard, especially in these crucial days involving Israel, I believe.
My own newspaper in Little Rock apparently refuses to print the following opinion piece I sent them, but instead printed many articles in opposition to Tom Cotton’s and the others’ letters opposing the terrible deal being made with Iran. This, despite Arkansas, in the mid-term elections, demonstrating that it is the most conservative state in the union. Thus, I know the paper has received an overwhelming number of op-ed pieces favoring the courageous senators, but has refused to print them.
We can reach many more than that one newspaper as Christians, as long as we are allowed access to Internet.
Thanks and Blessings,
Tom Cotton—Our Very Own Profile in Courage
John F. Kennedy, should he be suddenly allowed amongst the living, would have a tough time recognizing the party he once headed—the—in my view—now perverted party his brother, Ted, left in his wake.
The president who faced down Nikita Khrushchev during the missile crisis of October 1962, would, I’m convinced, be appalled at members in the Democrat Party calling “traitorous” patriots who would oppose America’s bitter enemies. That is what Democrats and their leftist, wooly-minded, blogging, sycophants are calling congressional leaders who copied the Iranian terrorist regime on a letter saying those congressmen would not support a go-ahead deal, allowing development of nuclear weapons with the Iranian leadership, blood-vowed to wipe both Israel and the U.S. off the globe.
Arkansas’ own newly elected senator, Tom Cotton—the senator who initiated the letter, joined by 46 other congressional members—is being subjected to every invective possible, magnified in its fervor a thousand times over by mainstream news and entertainment media. Cotton and the other patriots are accused of being traitors by exposing President Obama’s “bad deal,” as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called it in his speech to Congress on Tuesday, March 3.
The Democrats doing the name-calling in high-pitched squealing, like the proverbial stuck pig, conveniently forget the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and John Kerry going to some of the world’s worst tyrants, in person, to try to thwart efforts of President George W. Bush. They conveniently forget JFK’s own brother, Edward M. Kennedy, back in the days of the Reagan Administration, going to the Soviet Union, in person, to assure then Premiere Yuri Andropov that he and the Democrat leadership would find ways to govern Ronald Reagan and his opposition to the Soviet regime’s designs on the rest of the world.
John F. Kennedy, if his most famous literary work was in truth his patriotic thought process manifested, would, I have little doubt, consider for inclusion Senator Tom Cotton in his work Profiles in Courage.
I hope every Arkansan who is in touch with reality (and the fact that we are perhaps the most politically conservative state in the union shows most are in touch with reality) will recognize Tom Cotton and the others who joined him for the courage and wisdom they have shown in the face of political and media hatreds those patriots have only begun to experience.
