There’s the makings of a crisis swirling in America’s oil-storage tanks, and the next few months will determine whether it’s a minor annoyance, or a major blow, to U.S. oil. The basic problem is that too much oil is being pumped, and not enough is being used up. America is running out of places to store all of the excess crude. That’s a problem, and it could send prices plummeting — some say to $20 a barrel or even lower.

TOP 5 RIGHT HOOKS

Iran Nuke Deal Harder and Harder for Josh Earnest to Justify

Josh Earnest ran damage control after Iran Ayatollah Ali Khomeini responded to hecklers by saying, “Of course, death to America,” during a public speech over the weekend. This prompted the Leftmedia to start asking hard questions about Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran. CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta asked Obama’s spokesman, “Do those comments give this White House any pause about moving forward with a nuclear deal with that country?” Earnest replied, “Those kinds of comments only underscore why it is so critically important that the United States and the international community succeed in preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” He continued, saying the only way to prevent an Iranian bomb is through negotiation. But Earnest fumbled when he said the Ayatollah’s comment was only “intended for a domestic political audience.” (What are some things Obama said only for the ears of people back home?) While the Obama administration flirts with a U.S. enemy, Israel’s intelligence has been spying on the proceedings and leaking information to Congress. It’s an act of self-preservation, which also gives to Congress information that Obama should have been providing all along.

Obama Still Thinks Yemen Strategy Is Sound

Despite pulling the last U.S. Special Forces from the country, the Obama administration stands behind its comments touting its foreign policy strategy in Yemen. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest defended his boss’ strategy, even in the face of growing unrest and the potential growth of ISIL in the nation. “The case that we have made is that Yemen did serve as a sort of template for the kind of strategy that we would employ to mitigate the threat from extremists around the world,” Earnest insisted. “In Yemen, the U.S. did on occasion take steps to remove some extremists from the battlefield. Those were steps that were carried out using U.S. capabilities, done in conjunction with the Yemeni central government and with national security forces inside that country. Ultimately our goal here is to build up the capacity of local countries so they can assume responsibility for their own security situation. That has the effect of stabilizing the country so extremists can’t use it to plot against the West.” Great idea on paper, but it hasn’t worked out too well in application. Yet Obama is sticking with the same strategy. More…

Iraqi Christians Suffer After Obama’s Withdrawal

CBS reported on the plight of Assyrian Christians during Sunday night’s “60 Minutes.” Correspondent Lara Logan interviewed Archbishop Bashar Warda, who said Christians in Iraq were safer under Saddam Hussein than they are under either the current Iraqi government or, obviously, the Islamic State. “I think American support was needed — needed forcefully” to maintain stability, Warda said. “You cannot leave the country like this and tell them, ‘Well, we’ve liberated you. We cannot do the job for you and we are walking away. This is your country, rule it.'” Furthermore, he added as if speaking directly to Americans, “This is not what you came for in 2003. The 4,000 sacrifices of the American soldiers was not meant to come to this day.” No, indeed, we didn’t spend enormous blood and treasure just for Barack Obama to throw up his hands and walk away to prove a political point. But that’s exactly what he did, and more than just U.S. national security suffered — real people with Christian roots that go back to the time of the apostles are threatened with extinction.

FEMA to Punish Climate Skeptics

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is cracking down on Republican governors who don’t agree on the supposed impacts of man-made global warming: Embrace the alarm and draft precautionary plans to combat “the challenges posed by climate change, such as more intense storms, frequent heavy precipitation, heat waves, drought, extreme flooding, and higher sea levels,” or prepare to have emergency funding withheld. Michael Bastasch of The Daily Caller says the sanctioning will begin in 2016, when FEMA “will start denying disaster funding to states that don’t incorporate global warming into their emergency preparedness plans.” Natural Resources Defense Council attorney Becky Hammer praised the policy amendment, asserting, “If a state has a climate denier governor that doesn’t want to accept a plan, that would risk mitigation work not getting done because of politics. The governor would be increasing the risk to citizens in that state.” The federal government is willing to block potentially life-saving disaster relief because of a politician’s personal views, yet leftists want to accuse Republicans of bringing politics into the debate? This is typical Orwellian guile: Adopt a viewpoint advocated by a fraudulent “scientific consensus,” or suffer the consequences. Also known as totalitarianism. More…

DOJ Calls Hunt for Hillary’s Email ‘Speculation’

Is it really too hard to ask Hillary Clinton and the government for the whole cannon of email relating to communication about Libya during her time as secretary of state? House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy said Congress only wants her emails dealing with the Benghazi incident. “We’re not interested in her private emails,” McCarthy said. “We’re not even interested in her emails regarding Russia and the ‘reset’ or Syria and Assad and the chemical weapons, only those pertaining to Benghazi.” The committee investigating the Benghazi attack know Hillary is hiding emails from them. “There are huge gaps” in the email record, according to Rep. Trey Gowdy. But the Department of Justice has taken up the cause of defending Hillary from the investigations. In a brief written by two DOJ lawyers, the department argues it has no duty to unearth the records — even when private citizens (in this case Freedom Watch) request the information. The DOJ opined about a request for the rest of Hillary’s email, “Plaintiff provides no basis, beyond sheer speculation, to believe that former Secretary Clinton withheld any work-related emails from those provided to the Department of State.” And again, the Obama administration once again tries to undermine transparency laws. How will the public learn if Hillary hid emails if there is no proof? See the vicious cycle? More…

RIGHT ANALYSIS

Running on Cruz Control

2015-03-24-474e660d_large.jpg

Sen. Ted Cruz announced his candidacy for the GOP presidential nomination early Monday morning, followed by a major speech at Liberty University. Cruz can lay claim to being first to take the primary field, and his challenge will be to show how a first-term senator with little in the way of legislative accomplishments can win in what will surely be a crowded GOP field. Will his inspiring message of Liberty be enough?

Using short videos, he sketched several of his agenda points and recited a brief biography. One video in Spanish appeals to Hispanic voters, many of whom are less than enthusiastic about his stand on illegal immigration. But this is a good strategy for Cruz, as the GOP certainly must appeal to Hispanics.

Many conservatives, particularly of the Tea Party strain, are thrilled about Cruz’s candidacy and avidly support his ideas. The videos relate his belief in hope, freedom and faith in God. His agenda includes repealing ObamaCare, dealing seriously with the national debt, stopping Barack Obama’s amnesty, ending IRS political harassment, instituting a flat tax, restoring the Constitution, confronting ISIL and Iran and repealing Common Core. Needless to say, it’s a solidly conservative platform.

Cruz’s key constituencies are the Tea Party, social conservatives and libertarians, pretty much in that order. Over the course of the primaries, he aims to raise $40-$50 million to build a coalition of these groups, and, along with other conservatives, challenge and defeat the presumed establishment candidate, Jeb Bush.

Yet The New York Times speculates that, even if Cruz were to have a spectacular run through the primaries, the chance of his ever gaining the establishment’s support would be slight. In fact, the establishment would pull out all the stops and outspend him heavily to torpedo his candidacy.

But Cruz has much to commend him. A graduate of Harvard Law School, liberal professor Alan Dershowitz described Cruz as “off-the-charts brilliant.” Cruz taught constitutional law at the University of Texas, where he cultivated his firm belief in the separation of powers. He argued in his thesis that the Framers included the Ninth and Tenth Amendments “as an explicit stop against an all-powerful state.”

Cruz has held several public offices, including ones at the Federal Trade Commission, at the Department of Justice and with the George W. Bush administration. After serving as solicitor general of Texas, Cruz ran for the U.S. Senate seat vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison in 2012. In that primary, he aligned with the Tea Party and pummeled establishment favorite David Dewhurst, earning the enmity of many of Dewhurst’s supporters. He also won the general election in a landslide.

A man of strong convictions, Cruz is not a typical politician. While in Iowa recently, he had the “gall” to criticize the ethanol mandate that is popular among far too many Iowa Republicans, and, thus, other presidential hopefuls. But that’s just one example of his firebrand approach.

Sometimes, however, his all-or-nothing approach is ill-advised. Case in point: He led the GOP into an avoidable box canyon on the fight over ObamaCare funding. His principles were admirable; his strategy was not. The episode won him the enmity of many in the Senate, including fellow Republicans. In fact, in April 2013, Foreign Policy magazine identified him as “The Most Hated Man in the Senate,” describing him as “the human equivalent of one of those flower-squirters that clowns wear on their lapels.” Of course, that title would win him even greater support among those who are fed up with Congress, and last time we checked that was a lot of people.

Running for president is a daunting task. Besides Cruz, seven other likely candidates are expected to formally announce their campaigns. For Cruz, that crowd along with carrying the ill will of many party elites make his candidacy an uphill battle. Never the shrinking violet, however, Cruz says, “If you want more of the same, there’ll be plenty to choose from, but if you want real conservative change and a proven record, I hope I can win your support.” We’ll have to wait and see if he can win it.

Police Reduce Rolling Stone’s Rape Story to Rubble

2015-03-24-2984cc7c.jpg
After Rolling Stone’s damage was done, that is

New details from the alleged University of Virginia rape case emerged Monday, and the results weren’t exactly what many mainstream journalistic outlets were hoping for.

Last November, Rolling Stone magazine featured an article on the supposed UVA rape case concerning a college student named “Jackie,” the alleged victim, and members of campus fraternity Phi Kappa Psi, the alleged gang of rapists. Shortly after Rolling Stone published the article, it retracted several of the claims reporter Sabrina Rubin Erdely put forth.

We noted at the time that Rolling Stone, in an attempt to support the narrative of a widespread “rape culture” on campuses around the county, was guilty of shoddy and reckless journalism. We hold fast to this assertion, and the Charlottesville Police Department agrees.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Police Chief Timothy Longo told reporters the Charlottesville Police Department was “not able to conclude, to any substantive degree, that an incident which is consistent with the facts contained [in] that article occurred at the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house, or any other house for that matter.”

Chief Longo noted that a time-stamped photo of the frat house where the alleged assault occurred revealed the house was practically empty at the time Jackie said the rape occurred. There was no party that night. Furthermore, Longo said his investigators had spoken with nine of the 11 members of the fraternity who were living at the house during the time of the incident, and none of them had any knowledge of the alleged assault or even who Jackie was.

To make things even sketchier, when Jackie came to police in the spring of 2014 to report a non-sexual assault, she provided details of the supposed 2012 rape. However, the details she provided to police were much different from those depicted by the Rolling Stone article. When the article was published, Jackie agreed to meet with police investigators, but, according to Reason’s Robby Soave, she “declined to give a statement or provide documents and was generally uncooperative.”

Chief Longo emphasized to reporters that despite lack of evidence from Jackie’s rape claim “the case is not closed by any stretch of the imagination.” He and his department are hoping someone will come forward soon with information related to the case. At this point there are no charges against Jackie for false statements. But the message is clearly that her story has little or no basis in fact.

Perhaps the most profound statement Chief Longo made is this: “Having police involvement in the early stages of an investigation is extremely, extremely important.” Ouch. Actually, that’s a nice way for the police chief to tell mainstream reporters (i.e. Rolling Stone) to stop reporting facts that aren’t facts.

Investigative journalism in this case and many others is dead. Why? Because it was more important for Erdely and Rolling Stone to perpetuate a (false) narrative about sexual assault on college campuses than it was to get the facts straight. While Rolling Stone magazine did apologize for making a wrong judgment in publishing the story, young men, a fraternity and an entire university were besmirched as a result.

In both police work and good reporting, it takes time to gather evidence, receive statements and get the facts right. Erdely spent time telling a good story, but the basics fell by the wayside. Yet Leftmedia outlets purposefully glamorized a story to draw attention to a particular phenomenon with the hopes of capturing a mesmerized audience. The cliché that “sex sells” is sad but true. Even in cases of alleged rape the facts are distorted in order to make a profit off of the individual(s) involved.

In a world full of false information, people want and deserve the truth. Truth never fears a challenge; yet too often mainstream news sources aren’t willing to be honest. It’s time they start, because anything less is a disservice to the American people.

TOP 5 RIGHT OPINION COLUMNS

OPINION IN BRIEF

President Theodore Roosevelt (1858-1919): “Unless a man is honest, we have no right to keep him in public life; it matters not how brilliant his capacity.”

Economist Stephen Moore: “This past summer major environmental groups gathered in Venezuela to solve leading environmental problems like global warming, concluding in the Margarita Declaration ‘The structural causes of climate change are linked to the current capitalist hegemonic system.’ In fact, the statement itself included the motto, ‘Changing the system, not the climate.’ So how is it delusional paranoia to believe that the climate change industry wants to shut down capitalism when the movement plainly states that this is their objective? And how can a movement be driven by science when its very agenda violates basic laws of economics? I am no scientist, but I am first in line in questioning the wisdom and motivation of a movement whose purpose is to steer the U.S. economy off a cliff toward financial ruin. Americans are also naturally skeptical that government can do anything to achieve the grandiose task of changing the weather of the planet — because the U.S. government can’t even do simple things like balance its budget, deliver the mail, or run a health care website. If global warming ever becomes a planetary threat, it will undoubtedly be solved by technological progress — not repressive government action — and this is dependent on the very free enterprise system the left wants to tear down.”

Columnist Ed Feulner: “Let’s say you were a financial adviser, and a family came to you with the following situation. They make the median family income in the United States — $52,000. But last year they spent $61,000. That’s right, $9,000 more than they’re making, and it all went on the family credit card. That’s bad enough, but then you find out they already have $311,000 in debt. Would you say they have a problem? I wish I could say this family was made up. Actually, this particular household isn’t real. But the ‘family’ in this scenario is the federal government, and the amounts at stake are in the billions, not the thousands. The ratio of overspending, however, is accurate. So is the fact that the money they’re being so careless with is our tax dollars. … Yet what does Congress normally do come budget time? Raises the debt ceiling. That’s government-speak for ‘get a higher credit card limit.’ Except you and I would have to go, hat in hand, to our credit card company and ask if they’ll raise it (even assuming it was a responsible thing to do). Not federal lawmakers. They just vote to raise the debt ceiling, and presto — problem solved. Well, not solved. Kicked down the road. That is what passes for ‘solved’ these days. But it shouldn’t. … So what’s your financial advice? Perhaps it’s time to let Congress know.”

Twitter satirist @hale_razor: “Barack Obama, while you were watching hoops all day, 8-seed Al Qaeda upset 1-seed America in the Yemeni regional.”

The Best Place To Live In The United States? Here Are 9 Maps To Consider

If you could live anywhere in America during the tumultuous years ahead, where would it be? This is a topic that is hotly debated, and the truth is that there is not a single right answer. If you have a very strong family support system where you are, it might not be right to try to move 2000 miles away and start a new life from scratch. And for many Americans, moving is out of the question in the short-term because they are completely and totally dependent on employment in their local areas. But in recent years we have seen an increasing number of Americans strategically relocate to another region of the country. They can see our society breaking down and they can see the storm clouds on the horizon and they want to do what they can to prepare themselves and their families for what is ahead. So is there a “best place to live” in the United States? Are there some areas that are preferable to others? The following are 9 maps to consider… (Read More…)

They Are Slowly Making Cash Illegal

The move to a cashless society won’t happen overnight. Instead, it is being implemented very slowly and systematically in a series of incremental steps. All over the planet, governments are starting to place restrictions on the use of cash for security reasons. As citizens, we are being told that this is being done to thwart criminals, terrorists, drug runners, money launderers and tax evaders. Other forms of payment are much easier for governments to track, and so they very much prefer them. But we are rapidly getting to the point where the use of cash is considered to be a “suspicious activity” all by itself. These days, if you pay a hotel bill with cash or if you pay for several hundred dollars worth of goods at a store with cash you are probably going to get looked at funny. You see, the truth is that we have already been trained to regard the use of large amounts of cash to be unusual. The next step will be to formally ban large cash transactions like France and other countries in Europe are already doing. (Read More….)

The McAvany Intel Memo

President Barrack Obama (America’s most anti-American president) has made it his mission to tell the world that the US isn’t special. He says he believes in American exceptionalism. But his definition of what makes America exceptional is laughable: “What makes us exceptional is not flouting international norms and the rule of law; it’s our willingness to affirm them through our actions.” Of course, his disdain for the rule of law makes this statement, which he made recently, even more laughable. He is actually the only US President ever to put down and denigrate the US in his international speeches.

And yet, he has no real foreign policy, he has no real relationships with any other foreign leaders, and he has no respect in other countries. There isn’t a Reagan-Thatcher or even a Bush-Blair coalition. As Peggy Noonan said (WSJ, 11/14/14), this is the loneliest president since Nixon: “But Nixon had one advantage that Obama does not: the high regard of the world’s leaders, who found his downfall tragic (such ruin over such a trifling matter) and befuddling (he didn’t keep political prisoners chained up in dungeons, as they did. Why such a fuss?). Nixon’s isolation didn’t end well.”

Neither will Obama’s. While Obama’s isolation and incompetence make him the brunt of many jokes here in the US, it is a clear sign of American weakness around the world. Without “the high regard of the world’s leaders,” Obama has made the US a target. Like all good competitors, the Russians and the Chinese have both identified America’s present weaknesses as a great opportunity for their own advancement. However, the attack isn’t a full frontal military assault. It’s more like the Chinese “death by a thousand cuts” strategy.

The endgame, as always, is world dominance, with a 21st century spin. The Chinese have been adopting many capitalistic values that were beneficial to their economic growth for decades, while keeping control with their version of communism.

Obama Left PM “With Impression US Will Abandon Israel At UN”

President Barack Obama’s supposed congratulatory call to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu last Thursday, two days after the Likud leader triumphed in Israel’s elections, was actually a bitter 30-minute conversation, Israel’s two main TV news stations reported Friday night. According to a Channel 10 read out on the call, indeed, Obama left Netanyahu with “the impression that he intends to abandon Israel at the UN.”………….. Click here for full story

Iran Endorses Nuclear EMP Attack On United States

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party scored a surprisingly comfortable win in Tuesday’s parliamentary elections, and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton says the vote was a “stinging defeat” for President Obama that will make Iran far more nervous and probably lead to more appeasement from the U.S. in nuclear negotiations………. What Is The Future Of Israel?

Israel is a tiny nation the size of New Jersey with only six million Jews, and it is trying to exist in an area where it is surrounded by 22 Arab nations with over 300 million people who are determined to destroy it. Israel is losing the war of world opinion – even among Christians | Worldview Weekend

The war that Israel keeps losing is the war of world opinion, the war for individual hearts and minds, and a war that is also being lost normally staunch supporters of Israel – the evangelical Christian community. There is a movement among the Christian community that is eroding support for Israel led by men like Brian McLaren, author of the book, “A New Kind of Christian”, Stephen Sizer, a pastor who has gained popularity by condemning Christian Zionism, and Former President Jimmy Carter, who accuses Israel of committing a holocaust against the Palestinians.

Not a Transitional Form | Worldview Weekend

Headlines are buzzing with news about the oldest known human in the fossil record. The specimen—half a lower jawbone with five teeth—was found in the Ledi-Geraru research area in Ethiopia and has been recently reported in the journal Science. This jaw was found in 2013 about 12 miles from where “Lucy” was originally discovered. Lucy, of course, is an extinct ape called Australopithecus afarensis, and evolutionists believe Lucy was an important step in human evolution.

Fox, CNN and MSNBC Agree: “We’re for Gay Rights” | Worldview Weekend

The “Code of Ethics” of the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) says that the media should “avoid conflicts of interest, real or perceived.” But on the issue of homosexual rights, the media, from the left to the right, have taken a side. This includes the Fox News Channel, which many conservatives had hoped would stay true to its word of being “Fair & Balanced,” on the issue of gay rights.

The Fox News Channel is joining CBS News and CNN as “silver” sponsors of the upcoming National Lesbian & Gay Journalists Association (NLGJA) 20th annual New York “Headlines & Headliners” fundraising event. Gold sponsors include ABC News and Comcast Universal, owner of NBC and MSNBC. Daytime talk-show host Meredith Vieira is the host of this year’s event.

The SPJ ethics code urges the media to “avoid political and other outside activities that may compromise integrity or impartiality, or may damage credibility.”

But apparently that ethical standard doesn’t apply to media involvement in the homosexual movement.

Meanwhile, the media-supported Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) is ecstatic that the ABC Family network show “The Fosters” has aired a kiss between two 13-year-old boys. The show features two lesbians as “parents” and includes a “transgender teen.”

Media sponsors of the 26th Annual GLAAD Media Awards include 21st Century Fox, the parent company of Fox News; Comcast/NBC Universal; Time Warner, parent of CNN; CBS Corporation; and Bloomberg.

Don’t expect the media to trumpet the news in any headlines or stories about their financial involvement in the homosexual movement. It is a secret that has to be kept hidden from the public because it constitutes a blatant violation of acceptable standards of journalistic behavior and media ethics.

Netanyahu never flip-flopped on the Palestinian state

The American left, of which the news media is a wholly-owned subsidiary, is having a nationwide hissy fit over the decision of Israeli voters to re-elect Benjamin Netanyahu as prime minister. This was not what Barack Obama wished! He wanted a left-wing prime minister who would roll over for his plan to give Iran what it wants in nuclear negotiations. Symptoms of the America We Deserve?

Only the Lord knows if they were truly saved in the first place.

I have never seen so much moral and spiritual confusion even among Christians. If we are not established in the Word of God and a preserving influence on culture, how can we expect it to improve?

Obama Now Demands Israel Give Up Their Land To Create A Palestinian State.

The White House on Monday bluntly warned Israel that its “occupation” of Palestinian land must end, dismissing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s efforts to take back controversial campaign pledges.

“Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.” Zechariah 12:3 (KJV)

It did not take long for the “other shoe” to drop, and Barry the Community Organizer has come out of the gate swinging hard for the fences on Team Lucifer. He has much wrath, for he knoweth his time is short. Amen.

Washington – In unusually tough language that underscores the fracture in relations between Washington and Israel, White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough said “an occupation that has lasted for almost 50 years must end.”

obama-demands-israel-give-up-land-to-create-palestinian-state-jerusalem

McDonough criticized Netanyahu’s pre-election pledge to block the creation of a Palestinian state — the supposed end goal of decades of fruitless peace talks — and he questioned Netanyahu’s efforts to undo the damage.

“We cannot simply pretend that those comments were never made, or that they don’t raise questions about the Prime Minister’s commitment to achieving peace through direct negotiations,” he said.

“The Palestinian people must have the right to live in and govern themselves in their own sovereign state,” he added.

And there you have it. We are now nearing the end of the race, and the horses of prophecy are about to round the clubhouse turn. Obama wants Jerusalem for the mythical Palestinian people, and he is going to take it.

The battle in the Middle East has always been about one thing, and will always be about one thing: Who owns Jerusalem?

Why is this of such tantamount importance? Because Jerusalem is where Messiah will return to when the Battle of Armageddon, foretold of by Ezekiel the Prophet, is waged in the valley of Megiddo. Jerusalem is where Messiah will establish His 1,000 reign of the whole earth on the Throne of David. Jerusalem is the “apple of God’s eye”, and soon will command the attention of the whole world.

It is almost time for events to begin. The bible tells us who will fight this battle, and more importantly, Who will win the battle.

Are you ready for what comes next?

John Hagee’s Ministry Responds to ‘Four Blood Moons’ Allegations

John Hagee's Ministry Responds to ‘Four Blood Moons’ AllegationsMegachurch pastor John Hagee is not the “discoverer” of the pattern of blood moons, according to news reports from WND. The Christian publication points to pastor Mark Blitz as the one who received the revelation and has sent a demand letter to Hagee. The letter asks for a public apology and re-edits for the film Four Blood Moons. “We asked for two reasonable actions in a legal demand letter: a re-editing of the “Four Blood Moons” movie to remove the offending quotation from Hagee in which he suggested he had discovered the phenomenon; a clear unequivocal public statement that Biltz had, indeed, discovered the blood moons anomaly,” said Joseph Farah, the publisher of Biltz’s book and the producer of the movie version, wrote in a Sunday column. “But, so far, Hagee’s representatives have declined even to discuss those demands. Instead, they have acted like the offended party, claiming WND and Biltz have mischaracterized the facts.” As proof of its case, WND offers excerpts from Blitz’s 2014 book, Blood Moons: Decoding the Imminent Heavenly Signs, of how he started researching the blood moons phenomenon in 2008: FULL REPORT

The earthquake struck at 1:51 a.m. local time – at a depth of 75 miles – about 30 miles southeast of Putre, near Chile’s border with Bolivia, according to the United States Geological Survey. Chile is one of the world’s most seismic countries and is prone to tsunamis because of the way the Nazca tectonic plate plunges beneath the South American plate, pushing the towering Andes cordillera ever higher. Volcanic alert raised for Mount Ngauruhoe after 40 year slumber

Volcanic alert raised for Mount Ngauruhoe after 40 year slumberNEW ZEALAND – GNS Science has increased the volcanic alert level for Mount Ngauruhoe after an increase in the number of earthquakes around the volcano. Duty volcanologist Art Jolly said the change at Ngauruhoe indicated the volcano had entered a state of minor volcanic unrest prompting the alert level to be lifted from zero to one. During the past three weeks there has been an increase in the number and magnitude of earthquakes recorded by the GeoNet seismographs around Mt Ngauruhoe. Swarms of earthquakes around Ngauruhoe have been recorded in the past, most recently in December 2014. Jolly said it was “more likely than not” the unrest would not result in an eruption in the short term. GNS Science would continue to monitor the volcano closely. Initial analysis indicates the earthquakes around the volcano were shallow, occurring at depths of less than about 5kms. The last major eruption at Ngauruhoe was in 1975, although earthquakes near the volcano are not unusual. FULL REPORT

Hundreds more starving sea lions continue to wash up on West Coast

Hundreds more starving sea lions continue to wash up on West CoastThe Sea Lion die-off is not letting up and According to Shawn Johnson, the director of veterinary science at Sausalito’s Marine Mammal Center, for the third year out of five, thousands of sea lion pups have beached themselves in an effort to survive. The sea lions are too young to be without their mothers and, as a result, are not able to fend for themselves in the water. After trying desperately to find food, the sea lions came ashore — nothing but skin and bones and a mass of internal parasites, and too weak to go on any longer. The pups are coming from their breeding grounds at the Channel Islands. The primary reason for the breeding grounds’ location is due to the seasonal swells of prey sardines, anchovies and more that the Pacific Ocean has historically brought to the shores of the islands. As the numbers of fish drop, the mothers of these sea lion pups must leave them to fend for themselves for longer periods of time as they seek to forage for food. The sea lions from the Channel Islands, a long chain of eight islands off the coast of Southern California, have resulted in over 1,100 rescues in February 2015 — an increase of more than five times the normal number. The pups are desperately trying to get out of the ocean and are being found on homeowners’ decks, inside flower pots, under fishing piers, on rocky cliffs, along inlets and in other unusual spots. ‘God Isn’t Done with America’: Ted Cruz Announces Candidacy for President of United States

‘God Isn’t Done with America': Ted Cruz Announces Candidacy for President of United StatesSpeaking during a convocation ceremony at Liberty University on Monday, Texas Senator Ted Cruz officially announced his candidacy for president of the United States. “God’s blessing has been on America from the very beginning of this nation, and I believe God isn’t done with America yet,” he said. “I believe in you. I believe in the power of millions of courageous conservatives rising up to reignite the promise of America, and that is why today I am announcing that I’m running for president of the United States.” Cruz, 44, the son of a North Texas pastor, shared about his faith during his speech, including his father’s Christian testimony. “When I was three, my father decided to leave my mother and me,” he said. “We were living in Calgary at the time. He got on a plane and he flew back to Texas, and he decided he didn’t want to be married anymore and he didn’t want to be a father to his three-year-old son.”  “And yet when he was in Houston, a friend, a colleague from the oil and gas business, invited him to a Bible study— invited him to Clay Road Baptist Church—and there my father gave his life to Jesus Christ,” Cruz continued. “And God transformed his heart. And he drove to the airport, he bought a plane ticket, and he flew back to be with my mother and me.” He then spoke of how his father’s relationship with Christ affected his own life. “There are people who wonder if faith is real,” Cruz said. “I can tell you, in my family there’s not a second of doubt, because were it not for the transformative love of Jesus Christ, I would have been saved and I would have been raised by a single mom without my father in the household.” FULL REPORT

Machines could replace half of jobs over next 20 years

Posted: 24 Mar 2015 07:32 AM PDT

Machines could replace half of jobs over next 20 yearsIs your job replaceable? Can it be replaced by a robot? According to a new report Robots and computer programs could almost wipe out human workers in jobs from cooks to truck drivers, a visiting researcher has warned. Driverless cars and even burger-flipping robots are among the technological advancements gunning for low-skilled jobs across dozens of industries. University of Oxford Associate Professor in machine learning Michael Osborne has examined the characteristics of 702 occupations in the US, predicting 47 per cent will be overtaken by computers in the next decade or two. Those most at-risk jobs are in accommodation and food services (87 per cent of workers at high risk of being replaced), transportation and warehousing (75 per cent) and real estate (67 per cent).  By contrast, only about 10 per cent of workers in the information sector, software developers and higher level management were at risk of automation. Professor Osborne said machines and computers still struggled with creativity, social intelligence and the manipulation of complex objects, making jobs with high requirements in these areas less vulnerable to robotisation. Will Cash soon be Illegal?

Will Cash soon be Illegal?
FULL REPORT

U.S. Confirms North Korea’s Nuclear Threat: Issues Alert After ISIS Releases Names of 100 Military Personnel As TargetsSome sobering reports are coming from International Business Times, who is reporting that the United States has confirmed that it is seized of North Korea’s threat of developing a submarine-launched ballistic missile. This was officially acknowledged by Adm. Cecil D. Haney, the top commander, while briefing the U.S Congress on Thursday about emerging threats including China’s multi-warhead missiles. According to Pentagon, the first flight test of North Korea’s KN-11 SLBM was held in February 2014. Haney said North Korea is continuing its advance in nuclear weapon capabilities and have “a miniaturised warhead capable of delivery by ballistic missile.” The February test was followed a land-based ejection test in November, from a static launcher at its Sinpo South Shipyard. Haney said the complex and dangerous global security environment is seeing nations around the world continue to execute long-term military modernisation programs including capabilities that pose an existential threat to the United States, adding that military forces of nations and groups are “improving across all domains.” In his prepared testimony, the Admiral endorsed reports that North Korea is working on a new underwater missile capability and has put to rest the skepticism whether the communist state had the technical expertise to build a missile capable of being fired from a submerged submarine. Why Greece is the lynchpin that could unleash economic collapse, domestic martial law and global war

Posted: 23 Mar 2015 07:22 PM PDT

Why Greece is the lynchpin that could unleash economic collapse, domestic martial law and global war According to a recent report from Natural News the actions of Greece, it turns out, could set off a chain reaction that leads directly to a Wall Street panic and the “bail-in” seizure of your savings accounts at your favorite hometown bank. It could also radically destabilize Eastern Europe, heightening the risk for conflict between Russia and Western European nations (including NATO members like the United States). To understand why this is, we first need to grasp the basics of European history. The average American, unfortunately, knows virtually nothing about European history. But that might be asking too much, since the average American also knows nothing about American history, either. Fortunately, this article is written for exceptional Americans who are far better informed than the average Joe.  Greece is bankrupt. Like all socialist states, it has “run out of other people’s money,” and in this case the “other people” are primarily the German people. Modern-day Germany is the economic miracle of Europe, having risen out of the ashes of World War II, defeated and shamed, to reclaim its role as the single most powerful nation in Europe. What Germany once commanded with its military might, it now commands with its economic miracle machine. FULL REPORT

US test-fires intercontinental missile in California RT News is reporting that An intercontinental ballistic missile was fired early Monday from a facility in California, the US Air Force announced, saying the tests were a message to the world about Washington’s nuclear capabilities. The Attack Of The Enemy On Churches

by Sandy Simpson, 3/10/15 ACT Logo 2

So much heresy is entering the churches these days. As you would suspect, sometimes it is due to a pastor attending a conference or reading a book and becoming diapraxed with unbiblical ideas. He then starts to weave those ideas into his messages and begins to invite speakers to the church who expound on those ideas. Then when confronted by someone in the church who has reservations about the new stuff being taught, they are told to not talk about it and just go along with the program. If that person does not they are ostracized, slander behind their back, and often told to leave (which is what they should do in any case). But my observation is that it is not only the pastor who causes unbiblical changes to influence a church. Often the pastor is blissfully unaware of influences coming into his church. They often come in through (1) the worship team (2) women’s groups (3) bookstore (4) children’s programs (5) interdenominational prayer efforts and (6) relief and mission organizations. If unchecked this type of infiltration is much more subtle and can become deeply rooted.

Pornography, cruelty, sadism, violence, and occultism leaped out at me from the pages. In less than five minutes, I had skimmed through all I could take. In this booklet tract, I want to give you a brief overview of what young people are being handed today in the form of books and literature. While much of this reading material is being touted as having value and virtue, the underlying sediment is anything but that.

Exposed: The False Faith Healing-Prosperity Gospel (Book)

by Danny J. Frigulti, 3/10/15

Author Danny Frigulti has spent more than 30 years reviewing “faith teachings.” This book exposes more than 100 false teachings found in worldwide faith healing and prosperity gospel ministries. False teachings about sickness, healing, faith, positive confession, quantum faith, money, inner healing, Isaiah 53:4-5, 1 Peter 2:24, creative visualization and what the blood of Christ’s atonement represents are refuted with Bible Scriptures. Also, some of these false teachings are shown to have an occult connection.

5 Reasons to Rejoice in Persecution

When I was growing up and still living with my parents, my family supported ministries based in the USSR, and on our fridge we had a big poster covered in photographs of Russian pastors who were imprisoned or endangered because of their faith. Every night in our devotions we would pray for one of them, that God would bless and protect him. Meanwhile we lived in middle-class suburbia in Toronto. We freely told our neighbors about Jesus, we went to church twice each Sunday, we read the Bible openly, and even went to Christian schools. It did not seem fair that we had it so easy.

And we still have it easy. It is still remarkably easy to be a Christian here in North America. We have never faced systemic persecution. We have laws that protect our freedom to worship and our freedom to believe what we believe.

That’s not to say, though, that we never suffer. We still do face scorn and mockery, and especially so as the culture around us proceeds farther and deeper into paganism. Though the burdens we bear are light compared to what some others have had to carry, they are burdens nonetheless. I was recently studying 1 Peter 4 and found 5 reasons that we can and should rejoice even now when we are persecuted, or even in that day when we face much greater persecution.

Cleansing and Conformity

Thou shouldest also know that the more a man sets himself to be receptive of divine influence, the happier he is: who most sets himself so, is the happiest. Now no man can reach this condition of receptivity except by conformity with God, which comes from submission to God. – Meister Eckhardt

The soul that agrees with God’s judgements will not drift any further. The moment we align our judgements with God’s, calling evil what he calls evil, our loves have again been aligned. The result of confession is cleansing and conformity.

The cleansing which takes place here is not the cleansing of our judicial guilt before God. That cleansing takes place the day we trust Christ for salvation and we are justified. Instead, we are practically cleansed in two ways.

5 Ways You Might Accidentally Be Blowing It

by Erin Davis | 3/24/15

You are an ambassador.

That sounds fancy doesn’t it? If you’re like me, “ambassador” conjures up images of foreign diplomats or representatives from a far away kingdom. But, I don’t think that’s exactly what the apostle Paul had in mind when he wrote these words.

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Cor. 5:20).

He repeated this same claim in Ephesians 6:20 by calling himself “an ambassador in chains.”

We represent Christ with every corner of our lives.

Paul’s point was that when we become a Christian, we also become a representative of Christ. Just like an ambassador represents his home country, we are representatives of who Christ is and what His is like to a world that does not know Him. You might have heard that described as being a “witness.” It simply means that who we are and how we live tells a story about Jesus.

I want to be the best ambassador of Christ possible. Don’t you? But it’s about more than just wearing a Christian t-shirt or going to church. We represent Christ with every corner of our lives. With that in mind, here are five mistakes I’ve made that have damaged my witness.

Was the Serpent right?

by Dan PhillipsGod told Adam, “of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” (Gen. 2:17). In response to the Serpent, Eve more or less quoted God: “We may eat of the fruit of the trees in the garden, but God said, ‘You shall not eat of the fruit of the tree that is in the midst of the garden, neither shall you touch it, lest you die'” (Gen. 3:2-3).

Satan flatly denied this threat: “You will not surely die” (Gen. 3:4).

Well, what happened? Eve ate, Adam ate. Did they die? We read, “she took of its fruit and ate” (v. 6) — are the next words, “and she died”? No; they are “and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate.” Oh. Okay; so are the next words, “and he died,” or “and they died”? No again; they are “Then the eyes of both were opened,” and so forth.

So… what happened? Did that bomb fizzle? Was the threat empty, or forestalled?

Or was the Serpent right?

A little later, a Christian campus organization in California has lost recognition from its university and been accused of “religious discrimination” for not allowing non-Christians to hold leadership positions in the group. It’s the kind of new normal we never thought we’d see a decade ago.”

Lifeway Pulls Heaven Tourism For Good…Still No Acknowledgement of Alex Malarkey – “his is not true, and no one believes it. The 2014 SBC meeting was nine months ago. Thom Rainer thumbed his nose at the Convention until a brave young man named Alex Malarkey wrote an open letter to Lifeway that became the biggest news story in the world on January 17 and put Rainer’s shame on the front page of publications from the New York Times to the Today Show (and basically everywhere on the right-hand graphic you see on this website). And as we revealed previously in emails between former Lifeway Trustee and world famous apologist, Justin Peters and Lifeway executives, Thom Rainer and Ed Stetzer, they continued to sell the book even though they knew that it was false and the boy had recanted. And to this day, by the way, Lifeway has not returned the young man’s letter or even acknowledged his existence.”

Q&A with a same-sex attracted pastor—Sam Allberry – “I recently moderated a Q&A with Sam Allberry where he fielded questions from me and from students (see above). Sam is a same-sex attracted Christian, and a faithful brother. I cannot overstate how grateful I am for his life and testimony. The Lord has raised him up for our time. Why is it so hard to talk to college-educated millenials about spiritual or moral issues?

WINTERY KNIGHT

Why is it hard to reason with students? Why is it hard to reason with students?

The first article today is from lesbian feminist Camille Paglia. She is a university professor, but liberal (in the classical sense) in her outlook.

An hour-long interview is posted at Reason, and there’s a transcript.

Camille says:

reason: Clarify what’s the difference between a legitimate gripe and whining?

Paglia: Well, in my point of view, no college administration should be taking any interest whatever in the social lives of the students. None! If a crime’s committed on campus, it should always be reported to the police. I absolutely do not agree with any committees investigating any charge of sexual assault. Either it’s a real crime, or it’s not a real crime. Get the hell out. So you get this expansion of the campus bureaucracy with this Stalinist oversight. But the students have been raised with helicopter parents. They want it. The students…

Obama told us that Yemen was a success of his foreign policy

WINTERY KNIGHT

The Wall Street Journal reports:

The Obama administration’s calculated gamble during the past three years in Yemen has crumbled in recent days, leaving the country on the brink of a civil war with U.S. troops involved in counterterror operations withdrawing amid intense fighting.

What happened in Yemen, according to descriptions by current and former officials and experts, was a miscalculation about the changes unleashed by the Arab Spring revolutions. It involved an overreliance by Washington on a promising new leader who ultimately was unable to hold off rival forces and tensions, they said.

As a result, a country President Barack Obama last year cited as a model of American counterterrorism success has now descended into chaos, with U.S. influence and drone strikes no match for at least four sides at war with one another.

“In many ways, this is all the Thanksgiving Dinner from hell,” said Jon Alterman, a former…

Will You Help Us Help You?

Unfathomable Grace

Christians, after we are declared holy following the substitutionary life and death of Jesus Christ, we are progressively made holy through the gracious work of Christ’s Holy Spirit. The work of Christ in our justification is complete; it is finished. However, the work of Christ in our sanctification continues. As believers, we are made right with God due to the “walking” and “calling” of Christ alone. We then continue to make progress in our experience of grace as we seek to “walk worthy of the calling to which we have been called.” (Ephesians 4:1)

So, how ought we respond to our calling? What does a worthy walk look like? Throughout Ephesians 4, Paul lists numerous characteristics of the worthy-walking Christian. Due to the grace of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, every believer is to be:

  • Wise
  • Teachable
  • Humble
  • Gentle
  • Patient
  • Loving
  • Peaceful
  • Kind
  • Forgiving
  • Industrious
  • Generous
  • Chaste
  • Pure and Honest in Speech
  • Connected to Christ’s Local Church
  • Less Devilish

Hating “Little” Sins

The Reformed Reader

While all sin is a transgression against God and his law, some sins are less heinous and vile than others.  For example, it is far worse if I would kill my neighbor’s beloved dog than if I would lie to him and say I liked the dog.  However, as Christians, we should detest all of our sins and repent of them all – not just the worst ones, but the “little” ones as well.  One question comes up: why should we hate the “little” sins in our hearts and lives?  Thomas Brooks gave some good answers to that question (I’ve edited them for length & grammar):

1) A holy man knows that little sins, if not prevented, will bring on greater sins.  David gives way to his wandering eye, and that led him to those scandalous sins for which God broke his bones, hid his face, and withdrew his…

What is a Zionist?

hipandthigh

owsjewsI once received a mass email from a politically conservative writer (who is a non-Christian as far as I know) asking for readers’ input answering the question: “What is a “Zionist.”

Typically I just glance over emails like those and delete them; but the subject matter is one I frequently encounter among both secular conservatives and evangelical Christians, so I thought I would respond to the writer’s inquiry.

What follows are my comments to him, slightly expanded and edited for my readership.

In our modern, politically correct world, “Zionist” has become something of a dirty word.  It’s like being called a “Nazi” or a “racist.”  The idea being that a “Zionist,” at least according to the university educated progressive leftist, “is any person who is unquestionably loyal to, and supports the Jewish state of Israel, in spite of the fact the Israeli government is cruel, bigoted, and openly persecutes the innocent non-Jews…

Israeli Arabs voted in higher numbers this time than in the last election. This is good news. Here’s why.

Arab turnout at the polls this year was much higher than last election, and this is a good thing. (photo credit: Al-Arabiya) Arab turnout at the polls this year was much higher than last election, and this is a good thing. (photo credit: Al-Arabiya)

(Central Israel) — Arab citizens of Israel turned out to the polls on March 17th in significantly higher numbers than in the previous election, according to research published today by the Jerusalem Post. Indeed, some 444,000 Israeli Arabs voted last week, compared to only 349,000 last time.

As a new citizen of Israel, I’m encouraged by this. Arabs are full-fledged citizens of the State of Israel. In this country, as in few others in the region, Arab citizens — along with Jewish citizens and all other citizens, regardless of their ethnicity or religion — have the legal right to vote and to be fully engaged in free and fair elections in every possible way.

This is good news. A democracy is healthier when everyone exercises their right not simply to vote…

40 Days to the Cross: Reflections from Great Thinkers (Week Five: Tuesday )

Tuesday

Day 30: What evidence has shattered many alternate theories to the resurrection?

Confession: Psalm 95:6–9

Come in, let us worship and bow down;

let us kneel before Yahweh, our maker.

For he is our God,

and we are the people of his pasture

and the sheep of his hand.

Today if you will hear his voice:

“Do not harden your heart as at Meribah,

as in the day of Massah in the wilderness,

when your ancestors tried me.

They put me to the test,

even though they had seen my work.”

Reading: Mark 14:32–42

And they came to a place named Gethsemane, and he said to his disciples, “Sit here while I pray.” And he took along Peter and James and John with him, and he began to be distressed and troubled. And he said to them, “My soul is deeply grieved, to the point of death. Remain here and stay awake.” And going forward a little he fell to the ground and began to pray that, if it were possible, the hour would pass from him. And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for you! Take away this cup from me! Yet not what I will, but what you will.” And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Were you not able to stay awake one hour? Stay awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak!” And again he went away and prayed, saying the same thing. And again he came and found them sleeping, for they could not keep their eyes open, and they did not know what to reply to him. And he came the third time and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? It is enough! The hour has come. Behold, the Son of Man is being betrayed into the hands of sinners. Get up, let us go! Behold, the one who is betraying me is approaching!”

Reflection

With eternal foresight, and with lifelong, fond intention, our glorious Saviour entered into His passion. “I come to do your will, O my God.” That will was that He—Jesus, the Son of Man, God of God, the Holy One—should pass through and feel, as if it were His own. He experienced the torment and the horror of all sin in expiation of the crimes of the whole world. “And He began to be exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death.” O Jesus, we bow down our hearts before your sacred heart, which, in the garden, alone, cried out to heaven with the agony God laid upon it. “See if there be any sorrow like unto His sorrow.” We adore that dear, submissive heart, burning with love for God and man, but wrung with anguish, sweating drops of blood.

—Bernard of Clairvaux

Saint Bernard on the Love of God

Response

Christ remained obedient to the Father in all things, even leading up to His death. Write a prayer of thanks for Christ’s obedient sacrifice in the space below.[1]

Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered

Possessing the Treasure

by Mike Ratliff

7 “ Blessed are those whose lawless deeds have been forgiven,
And whose sins have been covered.
8 “ Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord will not take into account.” (Romans 4:7-8 NASB)

The Church, the genuine Church that is, is made up of people whose sins have been forgiven by our merciful God. What is the basis for this forgiveness? Are these God has forgiven more worthy than those outside the Church? Let us look at the paradox of our Holy, Righteous, and Just God who proclaims that He will not forgive those who have sinned against Him, but who does show mercy to some.
