“But the mild voice of reason, pleading the cause of an enlarged and permanent interest, is but too often drowned, before public bodies as well as individuals, by the clamors of an impatient avidity for immediate and immoderate gain.” —James Madison, Federalist No. 42, 1788
TOP RIGHT HOOKS
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry announced his second presidential bid today. Perry’s claim to fame is simple: jobs. Between 2007 and 2013, Texas created 1.5 million jobs while the rest of the nation lost 400,000. (What was that about Barack Obama’s recovery?) In 2014, Texas created a record 457,900 jobs. During his entire tenure, the Lone Star State was responsible for more than a third of America’s jobs. Even so — and with a current downturn in the oil industry slowing Texas’ growth — Perry has made a concerted effort to expand his appeal beyond the economy. His generally successful 14-year tenure as governor of a large state should push him toward the top of the field, but he’ll have to overcome two things: A phony indictment that amounts to charges of governing while Republican, and first impressions from the 2012 campaign. The latter could be harder, as his infamous “oops” moment in one of the last cycle’s debates may have defined him too well. Naturally, he’s trying to redeem himself from a bumbling 2012 run, which he blames on ill preparation and the aftereffects of major back surgery. One person who thinks he can do it is Matt Rhoades, Mitt Romney’s campaign manager. “Gov. Perry has worked hard and done the right things to reposition himself for a run in 2016,” Rhoades said. “I believe his candidacy will have a major impact on the primary and voters will give him a second chance.” America is all about second chances, right?
In yet another advancement for the Second Amendment, the Texas legislature passed a bill May 30 allowing concealed handgun carry on the state’s college and university campuses. The bill has compromises, though, as it allows state schools to create supposed gun-free zones, and it gives private schools the option of forbidding guns on their campuses — like most other private businesses have the right to do. Texas Gov. Greg Abbot said he would sign the bill, making Texas one of 10 states that allow firearms on college campuses. But by the way some people are talking, you’d think the Lone Star State proposed some radical idea. Baylor University professor Lynn W. Tatum said, “The perception in academia will be that Texas is a free-fire zone with yokels in the classrooms packing heat.” The underlying assumption is that college students are not mature enough to strap on a gun every morning. It’s part of the condescending attitude that although they are legal adults, old enough to vote and be drafted into the military (where they carry guns, by the way), college students are still not recognized as fully adult. Besides, with all the focus on campus rape, Texas did well to remember that an armed society is a polite society.
It’s not just Bruce Jenner the culture wants to validate. The Guardian reports on a girl who wanted to dress up as Darth Vader for her eighth birthday, but “she was devastated to see that the outfit was listed as a ‘boys’ costume.'” Instead of leaving it alone, the mom and daughter wrote Disney to complain. A week later, they got a reply: “The description for this costume has now been amended as we understand that all our little Jedis enjoy Star Wars.” In fact, all the costumes on the site — from Disney Princess dresses to Iron Man suits — had been modified to read “for kids” instead of boys or girls. The Guardian’s Laura Bates opines, “We can take hope from this and the string of other incidents where companies have listened to young people’s concerns about gender stereotyping.” Yeah, that’s called biology. We all know that sometimes children like to dress up as whatever their favorite character may be, regardless of gender, but that’s all in good fun. This nonsense only solidifies possible gender confusion. And the episode calls to mind one of Darth Vader’s more famous lines: “I am your father.” We suppose Luke only reacted so negatively to the gender stereotyping.

FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS
By Allyne Caan
Less than one month before the deadline to reach a final nuclear deal with Iran, things are going swimmingly. Or not.
Despite Barack Obama’s announcement that Iran’s nuclear program has been “frozen” during the past 18 months of negotiations, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said in its latest report that Iran’s stockpile of nuclear fuel has actually grown by about 20% during that time. And according to the Center for Security Policy’s Fred Fleitz, were Iran to enrich this uranium to weapons grade, it would be enough to make at least nine nuclear weapons. How comforting.
The New York Times reported that two potential reasons for the growth are “technical” difficulties preventing Iran from converting some of the uranium into fuel rods for reactors and attempts to gain an “edge” in the event negotiations fail. According to Fleitz, though, it’s what the Times didn’t report that is more troublesome: namely, “serious concerns … that Tehran may be trying to get the international community to allow it to have more centrifuges in a final nuclear agreement by manipulating the output of centrifuges it is currently operating to make them appear less efficient.”
Responding to the Times article, State Department spokesperson Marie Harf said the administration was “quite frankly perplexed.” Yes, you read that right. Perplexed. For an administration that has a habit of learning about everything from the “same news reports” that inform the rest of America, this is hardly surprising. Still, “perplexed” is not the adjective most Americans want to hear from the commander in chief’s subordinates when it comes to Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons. But according to Harf, it’s “absurd” to think the State Department didn’t know about the increase in Iran’s nuclear stockpiles because those numbers go up and down, and, as long as they end up at the right spot, we’re ok. So although reports of the increase are true, they’re “totally inaccurate” Tsk. Tsk. Whatever were we thinking?
Not to worry, though. There is a plan. Six world powers — the U.S., Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China — have supposedly figured out a way to re-impose sanctions on Iran if the state sponsor of terrorism violates the terms of any agreement, which would be shocking, really, given that Iran never breaks its promises. As Reuters reports, any suspected breaches of the agreement would be considered by these super six, as well as — wait for it — Iran, and the group would come up with a non-binding opinion. Binding or not, does anyone really believe Russia and China would call out their pal Iran on violations? It’s the proverbial fox guarding the henhouse.
So, as the days wind down to the June 30 deadline, Iran has amassed fissile material in its nuclear stockpile, China and Russia are set to help play police, and the administration is “perplexed.”
What could top this except Obama’s declaration that a military option is off the table? “I can, I think, demonstrate, not based on any hope, but on facts and evidence and analysis, that the best way to prevent Iran from having a nuclear weapon is a verifiable tough agreement,” Obama said. “A military solution will not fix it. Even if the United States participates, it would temporarily slow down an Iranian nuclear program but it will not eliminate it.”
Meanwhile, back in 2013 he had pledged, “I’ve said before and I will repeat that we take no options off the table, including military options, in terms of making sure that we do not have nuclear weapons in Iran that would destabilize the region and potentially threaten the United States of America.” Apparently, sidling up to Iran has weakened Obama’s rhetorical resolve.
Few actually want to invade Iran, of course, but there’s nothing like exchanging “speak softly and carry a big stick” for “here, take my stick, fill it with weapons-grade uranium and launch it back at me while I promise to do nothing but talk loudly.”
With Iran’s sights set on Israel and four Americans hostages still held in Iranian prisons, Obama’s JV leadership is putting America and the world at risk.

OPINION IN BRIEF
Victor Davis Hanson: “Academics in the West may preach past U.S. sins to impressionable 18-year-old students. But refugees from Latin America assume that once they cross the border into the U.S., they will have freedoms, legal protections, compassionate social services — and respect — of the sort that is impossible at home. Millions have decided that it is far better to be immigrants of illegal status in America than native-born citizens inside Mexico. What, then, explains the magnetic attraction of the often-criticized West? Add up the right to free expression, human rights, religious tolerance, constitutional government, an independent judiciary, separation of church and state, free-market economics and the protection of private property — and everyday life becomes simply far better. There is one final irony. The richer, freer and more technologically pampering that life becomes for self-critical native Westerners, the whinier they become — as if their West is not good because it is not perfect.”

Non Compos Mentis: “[I]f the Supreme Court were to throw the health care system in this country into utter chaos, there would be no easy solution for solving that problem because it would likely require an act of Congress in order to address that situation.” —Josh Earnest (It would have been nice if this administration had thought twice about throwing the system into chaos to begin with.)

A military training exercise that included explosions at a disused school building in Michigan has stunned residents who say they were given virtually no notice that the operation would be conducted in their city. “I was standing there, and all of a sudden, boom!” Jean Glenn of Flint, Michigan, told WNEM-TV. “I mean it was loud. It blew up the whole sky or whatever, it was like four or five big bangs,” said Annette Humphrey. It turns out the city had approved the training.
But many people are on edge this summer because of the looming Jade Helm 15 military exercises that will extend across several states and multiple jurisdictions. The U.S. military has told WND that to allay fears and minimize concerns officials have met with local governments and briefed them. And they say it’s a combination of “inaccurate” information and “personal agendas” that is whipping up fears. But it appears the message isn’t getting across, since a recent poll showed nearly half of voters are concerned Washington “will use U.S. military training operations to impose greater control over some states.” FULL REPORT

U.S. Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-N.Y., has introduced a bill that would force gun owners to have liability insurance or face fines of up to $10,000. According to Maloney. the Firearms Risk Protection Act would curb so-called “gun violence,” much like car insurance has lowered vehicle fatalities, she said, because gun owners would be more careful.
In a statement to the Hill, Maloney said: “We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns. The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.”
Maloney said auto insurance carriers incentivize drivers to take precautions to reduce accidents, but no such incentives exist for firearm owners. She wants to change that. “An insurance requirement would allow the free market to encourage cautious behavior and help save lives,” she said. “Adequate liability coverage would also ensure that the victims of gun violence are fairly compensated when crimes or accidents occur.” FULL REPORT

A dead oarfish, a mysterious and serpent-like creature that swims deep below the ocean’s surface, has washed up on a Southern California island and a university biologist will study the remains, officials said on Wednesday. Amy Catalano said she and a co-worker at the Catalina Island Conservancy were conducting a bird survey on Monday and standing on a bluff when they spotted the long body of the creature on the island’s shore below.
“It was amazing, it felt like a movie prop, it looked make-believe almost,” she said. Oarfish are of interest to scientists because they live in a largely unknown ecosystem of the oceanic mesopelagic zone, the part of the ocean that is about 660 to 3,280 feet (200 to 1,000 meters) below the surface.
This oarfish measured about 13.5 feet (4.1 meters) long, said Catalano, a conservation coordinator who said she believes the fish had washed ashore only minutes before the discovery. The serpent-like creatures can grow to be more than 20 feet (6 meters) long, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. FULL REPORT

Hurricane Blanca strengthened to a category 4 storm off Mexico’s Pacific coast on Wednesday and was expected to bear down on tourist resorts at the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. Blanca, the second hurricane to form off Mexico’s Pacific coast this year, was about 465 miles (748 km) south of the major port of Manzanillo, with maximum sustained winds of 140 miles per hour (225 kmh), the Miami-based NHC said.
The storm was stationary but is forecast to strengthen slightly over the next 24 hours, then start moving toward the north-northwest on Thursday, the NHC said. Luis Felipe Puente, head of Mexico’s civil protection agency, said authorities in the Pacific states of Oaxaca, Guerrero, Michoacan, Colima, Jalisco, Nayarit, Sinaloa, Sonora, Baja California Sur and Baja California were taking preventative measures in anticipation of any impact from the hurricane. Details have just emerged of the complicated life of the nine-year-old, who was conceived by donor insemination. At age three her two “mothers” split up – with the non-biological mum moving in with a female-to-male transsexual. The daughter stayed with the new couple but, when they separated around two years ago, the transsexual decided he wanted contact with the confused girl, leading to a court case.
In a written ruling Judge Clifford Bellamy, who sits in Leicester, said: “The girl’s story is an example of the different ways in which modern family life is formed. “Modern family life can be complicated.” Both mothers, as well as the sperm donor father – who was in a relationship with a man when the girl was born – objected to the transsexual having contact.
In the case, in which none of the parties can be identified, Judge Bellamy heard the girl referred to the transsexual as “dad”. The judge was also told the transsexual had “played a part” in caring for her. But he also heard the non-biological mother had been concerned about aspects of the girl’s behaviour when she was living with the transsexual. He ruled the girl already engaged with a “range of adults” and allowing the transsexual’s application could have a “damaging effect” on her welfare. FULL REPORT

Leaders of religious schools who believe in traditional marriage said Wednesday they must be shielded from government retaliation if gay marriage is nationalized. Our views about human sexuality, marriage and religious liberty “are deeply rooted in biblical revelation and thousands of years of Judeo-Christian tradition,” Samuel W. “Dub” Oliver, president of Union University in Jackson, Tenn., told a Capitol Hill press conference led by Sen. Mike Lee. “We will not jettison these convictions for any tax benefit,” Mr. Oliver said.
However, there is growing concern that if gay marriage is legalized nationwide, government will punish religious schools and institutions that uphold only “natural” marriage, Mr. Oliver and other religious leaders said, listing federal tax-exempt status, Pell grants for students, federal broadcasting licenses, and school certifications and accreditations as potential targets.
Mr. Lee, a Utah Republican, said he is preparing a new marriage-and-religious-freedom bill to prevent the federal government from taking “adverse” actions against any person or institution that holds the religious belief that marriage is between a man and a woman. FULL REPORT

The Pentagon now believes that at least 51 labs in 17 states, the District of Columbia and three countries may have mistakenly received live anthrax from U.S. military stocks. Senior Pentagon officials expect the numbers to increase as additional testing of anthrax lots continues and stress that there is no risk to the general public because the concentrations of anthrax involved are too low to affect an average person.
“We expect this number may rise because the scope of the investigation is going on and we will update these numbers daily until all of the investigation is complete,” Deputy Defense Secretary Robert Work said at a Pentagon briefing. Work said 400 lots of irradiated anthrax stored at four U.S. military facilities are being tested to see whether they contain any live anthrax. Four of those lots, from the Army’s Dugway Proving Ground in Utah, have been found to contain a mix of live and inactivated anthrax. FULL REPORT

Economist Martin Armstrong warns that the financial elite are plotting to abolish cash but are wary of the public becoming aware of the plan because it could cause bank runs. A meeting to discuss the move towards eliminating physical currency took place at the luxury Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park hotel in London recently during which Kenneth Rogoff of Harvard University and Willem Buiter, the Chief Economist at Citigroup, gave presentations. According to Armstrong, “The lack of press coverage was deliberate, and intended to avoid sending panic to the people, which would lead to a massive bank run if people understood what these guys are discussing.”
The last time the issue of bank runs really hit the headlines was back in October 2013, when U.S. banks began, “Stocking cash machines with extra funds to satisfy any consumer panic in the days before a possible default.” Armstrong, who is known for successfully predicting the 1987 Black Monday crash as well as the 1998 Russian financial collapse, accuses the likes of Buiter and Rogoff of planning to usher in a new era of “economic totalitarianism” by banning cash under the justification of eliminating organized crime, tax evasion and the drug trade. However, the move, which is designed to force people to keep credit in banks, will also end “all privacy for individuals,” says Armstrong. FULL REPORT

BREAKING NEWS – Just as we were expecting, after a series of dormant volcanoes showed activity in Arizona, Utah, and California —- now another noteworthy earthquake has occurred off the shores of Oregon. We should also make note on the location of these Oregon earthquakes. The swarm of large earthquakes which is currently occurring off the shores of Oregon (West coast US) falls at the undersea “Cleft volcanic complex”.
The undersea Cleft Volcanic field is located at the South tip of the Juan De Fuca fault zone (South of the newly erupting Axial Seamount volcano by 100 miles… and 4 miles from the nearest undersea volcanic cone). FULL REPORT

ISIS Fighter Who ‘Enjoyed’ Killing Christians Wants to Follow Jesus After Dreaming of Man in White Who Told Him ‘You Are Killing My People’
It has become a common occurrence over the years for Muslims in the Middle East who have converted to Christianity to claim to have been compelled to do so after dreaming of a person who they believe is Jesus Christ. Now, one militant belonging to the brutal Islamic State that has massacred Christians has converted to his victims’ religion after dreaming of “a man in white” with a startling message, according to one missionary’s account.

Depravity, delusion, and destruction–Signs of post-Christian America
“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin condemns any people.” (Prov. 14:34 NIV)
America is no longer a righteous people seeking God. We are instead a nation guilty of rampant sin, including homosexuality – the one sin that, when generally accepted as normal by society, indicates a nation is about to be destroyed. Overall, we are a nation of depravity, delusion, and soon destruction. These signs indicate we are now a post-Christian.
Explaining Agenda 21
If we’re living in the latter days of the latter days, and I believe we are, then Satan should be in high gear getting ready for his world takeover. Whether we have two days, two years or twenty years before the Rapture of the Saints, a simple review of national and world events should uncover Satan’s latter day tactics of his run-up to power.
Agenda 21 is a world agenda that is directly affecting your life, liberty and pursuit of happiness…yet few have even heard of the phrase.
Agenda 21, in a nutshell, is a United Nations program promoting socialist goals that attack U.S. constitutionally protected freedoms and liberties.
Ecumenism at its worst . . .
In the Heartland of the United States, along the banks of the Missouri River, lies the city of Omaha, Nebraska, where there is currently underway an experiment in interfaith dialogue and coexistence: the Tri-Faith Initiative. The goal of the Tri-Faith Initiative is to have a synagogue, a mosque, and a church located on a common piece of land, each with its own separate building; the Tri-Faith hopes to later add a fourth building as a shared Tri-Faith Center. The location for this venture is 35 acres in the Sterling Ridge development in Omaha. The religious partners are Temple Israel, the American Muslim Institute (formerly the American Institute of Islamic Studies and Culture), and Countryside Community Church, the new Christian partner.
Has Caitlyn Jenner Become The Most Popular Woman In America?
Of course not everyone is thrilled with Caitlyn Jenner. Some have compared what is happening to the “final days” of the Roman Empire. Others consider all of this to be strikingly similar to the great wickedness of the last days described in the Scriptures.
But for Jenner and her fans, this is what they want. According to Jenner, she is now “living my true self”…
Scientists Push for Rights for Plants, But It’s Okay to Kill Babies in Abortions
We are in the evil “days of Noah” . . .
Plants, say the authors, are highly responsive, attuned to gravity, grains of sand, sunlight, starlight, the footfalls of tiny insects and to slow rhythms outside our range. They are subtle, aware, strategic beings whose lives involve an environmental sensitivity very distant from the simple flower and seed factories of popular imagination.
Levin on Bruce ‘Caitlyn’ Jenner, America: ‘We Are Losing the Culture’
“We are losing the culture, there’s no question about it. We are losing our traditions; we’re losing our customs; we’re losing our civil institutions — people, even on our favorite cable network — but everywhere, congratulating Bruce ‘Caitlyn’ Jenner for having the courage to do whatever it is that he’s doing. Really? Courage?” Levin challenged.
