Second Planned Parenthood Video: Price Negotiations

2015-07-16-29a2a84f_large.jpg

There is now a second undercover video (filmed in February 2015) revealing Planned Parenthood’s evil baby-organ harvesting schemes. After learning last week that the nation’s largest abortion mill is trafficking baby parts, this time we see Dr. Mary Gatter, president of the Planned Parenthood Medical Directors’ Council, haggling over the price of those “specimens.” But don’t worry, she say cavalierly, “patients don’t get anything, of course.” She also insists, “We’re not in it for the money,” though, she adds, “it has to be big enough that it makes it worthwhile for me.” And she later jokes of the price arrangement, “I want a Lamborghini.” Gatter mostly downplays the price because, she said, “We don’t want to be in a position of being accused of selling tissue and stuff like that” — even though that’s exactly what they’re doing. And Gatter was cognizant of the “specious little argument” they’d have to make to patients, who are “signing something and we’re signing something that’s saying, ‘We’re not changing anything with the way we’re managing you just because you agreed to give tissue.'” Because it’s illegal to change the abortion procedure to what she calls a “less crunchy technique” in order to harvest body parts.

The ghoulish nature of the people running Planned Parenthood is horrifying but it isn’t surprising. After all, they’re killing children and using every euphemism in the book to excuse it. With such a total lack of moral compass, why wouldn’t they take it to the next level? We suppose it’s only a matter of time before we get another “apology” for Gatter’s “tone.”

Obama Still Hasn’t Lowered the Flag for Chattanooga Marines

Five days after an Islamic radical murdered five unarmed U.S. Armed Forces personnel in Chattanooga, Barack Obama has yet to lower the White House flag to half-staff to pay his respects. Symbols are important, and Obama isn’t ignorant of that. In fact, he recently treated the White House itself as a billboard for his political agenda by lighting it up in rainbow colors after the Supreme Court’s ruling on same-sex marriage. Perhaps he’s been too busy reviewing the case for allowing transexuals to serve openly in the military to remember that lowering the flag would be appropriate. Military.com reports, “Obama has issued presidential proclamations that lowered flags at federal facilities and military bases after many mass shootings, including attacks at the Washington Navy Yard, Fort Hood in Texas, and Sandy Hook elementary in Connecticut.” But not Chattanooga. Why?

Ignoring Cuba’s Present Doesn’t Fix Its Past

With another ugly notch in his belt of foreign policy legacy, Barack Obama’s Bay of Pigs has come to fruition: The U.S. and Cuba opened embassies and established official diplomatic ties for the first time in 54 years. Agence France-Press declared the move means “eliminating one of the last vestiges of the Cold War,” and Obama spokesman Josh Earnest pontificated that it’s “yet another demonstration that we don’t have to be imprisoned by the past.” But officially recognizing and glad-handing the brutal dictatorship of the Castro brothers by no means eliminates any vestiges of the Cold War; it only ignores them (see also, ending the war in Iraq versus winning it). Furthermore, the Cuban people remain “imprisoned by the past” — namely, by a totalitarian and communist government. Marco Rubio, the son of Cuban immigrants and a GOP presidential candidate, declared he would end diplomatic relations with “anti-American communist tyranny.” But Republicans weren’t the only objectors. Sen. Robert Menendez, Democrat from New Jersey and likewise the son of Cuban immigrants, blasted Obama at December’s initial announcement, saying, “President Obama’s actions have vindicated the brutal behavior of the Cuban government.” The only step remaining is granting the Castros’ demand that Obama “dismantle” the longstanding U.S. embargo against Cuba. That will require congressional approval, though — unless Obama decides it doesn’t.

Spin Machine Goes Full Cycle for Iran Deal

2015-07-20-8c9e297d_large.jpg

The Barack Obama Lipstick-on-a-Pig Tour kicked into high gear this week, as he and his various minions set about praising the recently signed Iran nuclear deal. Using his standard false dichotomy shtick, Obama claimed the only options for preventing a nuclear Iran are his deal or war, thus attempting to frame the recent deal as the only palatable outcome.

Secretary of State John Kerry attempted an even greater slight of hand, claiming the Iran deal was done in “the same way that Ronald Reagan negotiated with the Soviet Union.” He conveniently forgets, however, that Reagan walked out of the Reykjavik talks in 1986 rather than give away his missile defense program to Mikhail Gorbachev and the Soviets.

But UN Ambassador Samantha Power gets our nod for Absurdity of the Week. She claimed, “If Iran … abides by the commitments that it agreed to in this deal … then it will find the international community and the United States willing to provide a path out of isolation and toward greater engagement. We hope Iran’s government will chose that path.”

Apparently she didn’t get the memo from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei: “Our policy regarding the arrogant U.S. government will not change. We don’t have any negotiations or deal with the U.S. on different issues in the world or the region. Whether [the deal is] ratified or not, we will not give up on our friends in the region.” Khamenei was referring of course to “friends” Bashar al-Assad, Hezbollah, the various Shiite militias that are the defacto Iraqi Army, and the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

Translation: “Thanks for the deal. Death to America!”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, echoing Winston Churchill, continued warning the world of what to expect in the future: “[The deal] may block or delay Iran’s path to one or two bombs for the next few years, assuming they don’t cheat, but [it] paves their way to many, many bombs after a decade or so because they become a threshold state with full international legitimacy.”

Robert Satloff, executive director of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, notes correctly that the deal “maps Iran’s emergence as a regional power, with the full blessing — even support — of the United States and the international community.” Satloff also points out a crucial problem with the so-called “snap-back” sanctions provision of the deal: It grandfathers in any deals signed before the UN re-imposes sanctions.

Speaking of the UN, Obama couldn’t wait to take this deal to the UN Security Council, where it won unanimous approval on Monday. This allows Obama to frame a potential congressional rejection, however unlikely, as an act that would isolate the United States from its negotiating partners. In addition to the damage done to our national security by accepting this deal, Obama has thus laid the groundwork for a future president who will have to damage our international standing by withdrawing from the deal.

This is exactly why any binding deal with Iran should have followed the formal treaty process laid out in the Constitution. But Obama knew he wouldn’t have 67 senators supporting the final deal, considering how much he gave up for so little in return, so his plan has always been to race across the finish line before Congress could stop him.

OPINION IN BRIEF

Stephen Moore: “The U.S. economy — especially the private sector — is structurally very healthy. That wasn’t the case on the eve of the great financial meltdown of 2008 when American companies and households were leveraged up to their eyebrows. … The stunning improvement in business and family balance sheets is arguably the most impressive and underreported characteristic of this U.S. recovery. … At a time when private sector debt burdens have flattened out and even fallen, the government debt has soared frighteningly from $8 trillion to $16 trillion. If there is a fundamental structural weakness in the economy holding back growth, this is it. … The private sector should be borrowing more, but in a responsible way, to finance future growth, and the government should be tightening its belt and borrowing much, much less. In other words, it’s time for government austerity and private sector expansion.”

SHORT CUTS

“No man is entitled to the blessings of freedom unless he be vigilant in its preservation.” —General Douglas MacArthur

Trust but don’t bother verifying: “[Iran is] not allowed to [transfer money to Hezbollah]. … There’s a UN resolution that specifically applies to them not being allowed to transfer to Hezbollah. They are specifically not allowed under another UN resolution to transfer to the Shi’a militia in Iraq.” —John Kerry insisting we should trust Iran on its $150 billion in sanctions relief

Non Compos Mentis: “I’m a religious person. I go to church. Do I do things that are wrong? I guess so. … If I do something wrong, I try to do something right. I don’t bring God into that picture. … When we go in church and I drink the little wine, which is about the only wine I drink, and I eat the little cracker — I guess that’s a form of asking forgiveness.” —Donald Trump who claims he just “speaks the truth”

Mixed up: “I wouldn’t say I’m African-American, but I would say I’m black, and there’s a difference in those terms. … I just feel like I didn’t mislead anybody; I didn’t deceive anybody.” —Rachel Dolezal, the white former NAACP chief in Spokane

“Donald Trump’s campaign has raised about $100,000 in donations during the second quarter. Which raises an important question: Who is giving Donald Trump money? That’s like giving your money to a pile of money.” —Jimmy Fallon

Why Israel Is Going To Bomb Iran

Israeli Fighter Jets - Public DomainThanks to Barack Obama, it is only a matter of time before Israel feels forced to conduct a massive military strike against Iran’s nuclear program.  When that happens, Iran will strike back, and hundreds if not thousands of missiles will rain down on Israel.  This exchange will likely spark a major regional war in the Middle East, and that could end up plunging the entire planet into chaos.  If Barack Obama was attempting to prevent such a scenario from playing out, he failed miserably.  Personally, I think that the deal that was just made with Iran is absolutely horrible.  Perhaps you disagree.  Perhaps you believe that it is the greatest piece of diplomacy of all time.  But it doesn’t really matter what any of us think.  If this deal was going to work, it had to be strong enough to convince Israel that Iran’s pursuit of nuclear weapons has been completely stopped.  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has sworn that he will never, ever let Iran get a nuclear weapon, and he has pledged to use military force if necessary.  So what Barack Obama needed was a deal that would calm Israeli nerves while satisfying the Iranians at the same time.  Such a deal may have theoretically been impossible, but that is what it was going to take to prevent war.  Instead, Obama has made a deal which has utterly horrified the Israeli government.  Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu even called it “a license to kill“.  So now the odds that war will happen have gone way up, but Barack Obama is too busy congratulating himself to notice. 4 Things That Are Happening Today That Indicate That A Deflationary Financial Collapse Is Imminent

four asphalt - public domain
When financial markets crash, they do not do so in a vacuum.  There are always patterns, signs and indicators that tell us that something is about to happen.  In this article, I am going to share with you four patterns that are happening right now that also happened just prior to the great financial crisis of 2008.  These four signs are very strong evidence that a deflationary financial collapse is right around the corner.  Instead of the hyperinflationary crisis that so many have warned about, what we are about to experience is a collapse in asset prices, a massive credit crunch and a brief period of absolutely crippling deflation.  The response by national governments and global central banks to this horrific financial crisis will cause tremendous inflation down the road, but that comes later.  What comes first is a crisis that will initially look a lot like 2008, but will ultimately prove to be much worse.  The following are 4 things that are happening right now that indicate that a deflationary financial collapse is imminent… (Read More….)

Shock Poll: 51% of U.S. Muslims Want Sharia; 25% Okay with Violence Against Americans

But aren’t 99% of Muslims peace loving? What happened to that?

The Center for Security Policy released a poll Tuesday that should give all Americans pause. The results show that a startling number of American Muslims, our fellow citizens, agree that violence is a legitimate response to those who insult Islam. A full majority of 51% “agreed that “Muslims in America should have the choice of being governed according to shariah.”

1938 and 2015: Only the names are different – Prager

Dennis Prager targets Obama for ‘his appeasement of the greatest evil of our time’

We are reliving 1938. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain went to Munich to negotiate with Adolf Hitler. He left believing Hitler’s promises of peace in exchange for Germany being allowed to annex large parts of Czechoslovakia. Upon returning to England, Chamberlain announced, “Peace for our time.”

The American and European negotiations with Iran have so precisely mirrored 1938 that you have to wonder how anyone could not see it.

Heaven’s Timing and the Nuclear Deal with Iran

The Three Weeks are a mourning period that the Jewish people observe each year for the destruction of the Holy Temples in Jerusalem. The period starts on the 17th of the Hebrew month of Tammuz and ends on the 9th of the Hebrew month of Av and always falls in the summer. The 9th day of Av, which this year is July 26, is called Tisha B’Av and is the saddest day in the Jewish calendar. It was the day that both Holy Temples were set on fire.

ObamaDeal: U.S. to Protect Iran from Israeli Attack

The consequences to America are unthinkable. Economic crash or worse? — OTM

“ObamaDeal” explicitly states that the United States and the other P5+1 powers can help Iran deflect and even “respond” to sabotage and nuclear threats to its nuclear sites.

The damming evidence that ObamaDeal directly allows Western powers to help Iran to protect its nuclear sites, and possibly even to stage a counter-attack on the source of the threat, is stated in Annex III of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

As Obama Pushes Nuclear Deal, Iran Says ‘We Will Trample America’

A senior Iranian cleric delivered Friday prayers in Tehran while standing behind a podium that declared, “We Will Trample Upon America,” according to photos released by Iran’s state-controlled media.

Iranian cleric Ayatollah Mohammad Ali Movahedi Kermani, who was handpicked by the Islamic Republic’s supreme leader to deliver the prayers, delivered a message of hostility toward the United States in the first official remarks since a final nuclear deal was signed between Iran and world powers in Vienna last week.

Friday prayers are known for being officially sanctioned by the state and a sign of the supreme leader’s thinking on various issues. Analysts who spoke to the Washington Free Beacon about the anti-American tone of last week’s prayers said it is a sign Tehran believes it bested the United States in the talks.

“The slogans of the Iranian nation on Al-Quds Day show what [Iran’s] position is,” said the Middle East Media Research Institute. “The slogans ‘Death to Israel’ and ‘Death to America’ have resounded throughout the country, and are not limited to Tehran and the other large cities. The entire country is under the umbrella of this great movement [of ‘Death to America’].”

The nuclear accord has already been subjected to much criticism by lawmakers and experts who maintain that Iran will be permitted to keep its core nuclear structure in tact while receiving billions of dollars in economic sanctions relief.

The deal also lifts international bans of Iran’s ballistic missile program, as well as restrictions on its ability to purchase conventional military arms on the open market. Iran’s defense minister on Monday said the deal also will prohibit all foreigners from inspecting Iran’s “defensive and missile capabilities” at sensitive military sites.

“Missile-related issues have never been on agenda of the nuclear talks and the Islamic system will resolutely implement its programs in this field,” Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan was quoted as saying on Monday following a meeting with Iran’s defense ministry.

U.S. officials are being deceptive when they claim that international inspectors will have full access to Iran’s key military sites, Dehqan said.

“The U.S. officials make boastful remarks and imagine that they can impose anything on the Iranian nation because they lack a proper knowledge of the Iranian nation,” he was quoted as saying.

Dehqan went on to claim that Americans must “realize that they are not the world’s super power and no one recognizes them as such any longer.” Michael Rubin, a former Pentagon adviser and expert on rogue regimes, said that the official remarks by Iranian officials and clerics are meant to mock the Obama administration.

Supreme Leader Ali “Khamenei is toying with Obama right now, humiliating him, but Obama is too self-absorbed to realize it,” Rubin said. “The best analogy to this would be if Roosevelt made peace with Hirohito who gave a speech under the banner ‘We will bomb Pearl Harbor anyway.’”

There’s a reason why Obama doesn’t want Congress to see the agreement,” Rubin added. “That is because to examine the agreement is to recognize that it’s more an unconditional surrender than an arms control agreement.” source

History Repeats Itself With Iran’s Nuclear Deal

“That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.” Ecclesiastes 3:15 (KJV)

In 1938, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain gave his famous “Peace In Our Time” speech, jubilantly waving a signed promise from Adolf Hitler not to invade Poland. Just a few months later, WWII began with Germany’s invasion of Poland.

In 1994, US President Bill Clinton bragged that paperwork had been signed guaranteeing that North Korea would not obtain nuclear weapons. Within just a few short years, North Korea became a nuclear power.

In 2015, US President Barack Obama gushed to the press that a deal had just been signed preventing the terror-state of Iran from obtaining the ability to manufacture nuclear weapons. With history as a guide, Obama’s deal is a guarantee that Iran will go nuclear, and sooner rather than later.

More children living in poverty now than during recession

Posted: 21 Jul 2015 07:11 AM PDT

A higher percentage of children live in poverty now than did during the Great Recession, according to a new report from the Annie E. Casey Foundation released Tuesday. About 22% of children in the U.S. lived below the poverty line in 2013, compared with 18% in 2008, the foundation’s 2015 Kids Count Data Book reported. In 2013, the U.S. Department of Human and Health Service’s official poverty line was $23,624 for a family with two adults and two children.

“The fact that it’s happening is disturbing on lots of levels,” said Laura Speer, the associate director for policy reform and advocacy at the Casey Foundation, a non-profit based in Baltimore. “Those kids often don’t have the access to the things they need to thrive.” The foundation says its mission is to help low-income children in the U.S. by providing grants and advocating for policies that promote economic opportunity. Federal Agency Rules LGBT Workplace Discrimination Is Illegal

Posted: 21 Jul 2015 07:05 AM PDT

Neither federal law nor what’s on the books in more than half the states — including Pennsylvania — includes specific protections for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender workers. But the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has decided the “sex” part of the employment discrimination ban based on “race, color, religion, sex, and national origin” in the Civil Rights Act of 1964 covers it.

But the issue isn’t settled. The move, announced without fanfare this past week by the EEOC, is persuasive but not binding on federal courts. “The Third Circuit Court of Appeals back in 2001 ruled that sexual orientation is not covered under this federal anti-discrimination statute,” explains Eric Meyer, law partner with Dilworth Paxson’s labor and employment practice in Philadelphia. “So this EEOC decision does nothing to change that. But it may be persuasive to encourage the Third Circuit going forward to change their mind.” MORE

Lake Mead reaches another record low as water apocalypse nears for Las Vegas, a city living in denial

Posted: 21 Jul 2015 06:48 AM PDT

The severe droughts affecting the western United States are approaching apocalyptic proportions as the water level of Lake Mead – America’s largest capacity reservoir – has reached the lowest point in its history. Lake Mead, which was formed when the Hoover Dam was built, supplies water to around 40 million people and is also a crucial agricultural resource in the region. Humans, livestock and crops in Arizona, California, Nevada and even northern Mexico depend on water from Lake Mead (and the Colorado River which feeds it) for power, drinking water and irrigation.

Major metropolitan areas including Las Vegas and Phoenix also rely heavily on Lake Mead water. The water levels have just dropped (as of this writing on April 30, 2015) below 1,080 feet – that’s lower than last year’s record low level of 1080.19 feet. What makes this even scarier is the fact that last year’s record low occurred in August – this year the record has been broken before the end of April and predictions are that the levels will continue to drop another seven feet by the end of June. Franklin Graham: ‘We should stop all immigration of Muslims to the U.S.’

Posted: 21 Jul 2015 05:40 AM PDT

Evangelist Franklin Graham said Muslims must be barred from entering the United States, in light of what he purports to be the growing “threat” of Islam evidenced by the recent fatal shootings in Chattanooga, Tennessee. In the wake of last week’s tragedy that claimed the lives of five service members, the son of celebrated evangelist, the Rev. Billy Graham, said Friday that America needs to bring an end to the immigration of Muslims to the U.S.
Franklin Graham posted to his Facebook page that those deaths are the result of “a radical Muslim whose family was allowed to immigrate to this country from Kuwait.”

“We are under attack by Muslims at home and abroad. We should stop all immigration of Muslims to the U.S. until this threat with Islam has been settled,” he continued. “Every Muslim that comes into this country has the potential to be radicalized — and they do their killing to honor their religion and Muhammad. During World War 2, we didn’t allow Japanese to immigrate to America, nor did we allow Germans. Why are we allowing Muslims now? Do you agree? Let your Congressman know that we’ve got to put a stop to this and close the flood gates. Pray for the men and women who serve this nation in uniform, that God would protect them,” Mr. Graham said. Magnitude 4.0 Earthquake Shakes San Francisco Bay Area

Posted: 21 Jul 2015 05:30 AM PDT

BREAKING NEWS – Authorities say a magnitude 4.1 earthquake rattled the San Francisco Bay Area in California, but no injuries or property damage was immediately reported. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake hit shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. The quake, with a depth of about 7 miles, was centered about a mile north of Fremont, which is located about 35 miles southeast of San Francisco.

The Fremont Police Department told The Associated Press that there have been no reports of damage or injuries. The quake comes about 11 months after a magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck the region in late August 2014. It was the largest quake to hit Northern California in a quarter-century. That quake killed one woman and injured hundreds of other people while causing about $400 million in property damage in Napa Valley. MORE

Underwater volcano erupts off the coast of Taiwan

Posted: 20 Jul 2015 08:41 PM PDT

Stunning footage has revealed a rare underwater ‘volcano’ erupting off the coast of Taiwan. As the drone flies over the around Kueishantao Island, off the coast of Taiwan’s Gueishan Island, beautiful bubble plumes can be seen surfacing as volcanic vents erupt underwater. The video was captured by marine scientist Mario Lebrato, 29, from Spain. Mario, who works at the University of Kiel in Germany, said: ‘We were diving to obtain volcanic sulphur, [but] shot an aerial video to explore the area.

‘Will there be a new eruption soon? Only time will tell.’ Kueishantao Island, reaches 1315ft (401m) above sea level at its peak, and is the southernmost of five small volcanic islands off the north-east coast of Taiwan. The island is also known as ‘Turtle Mountain Island’ thanks to its profile as seen from some points on mainland Taiwan. Historical accounts during the time of King Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1775-1795 AD) documented the Guieshan mountain splitting open with a blood-red lava flow. Today, Kueishantao displays vigorous active submarine fumaroles and solfataras that discolor seawater over wide areas. A fumarole is an opening in a planet’s crust, usually close to a volcano, which emits steam and gases such as carbon dioxide, sulphur dioxide, hydrogen chloride, and hydrogen sulphide. A solfataras is a volcanic vent emitting sulphurous gases and water vapour or sometimes hot mud. MORE

El Nino intensifying, could rival strongest in recorded history

Posted: 20 Jul 2015 08:28 PM PDT

The present El Nino event, on the cusp of attaining “strong” intensity, has a chance to become the most powerful on record. The event — defined by the expanding, deepening pool of warmer-than-normal ocean water in the tropical Pacific — has steadily grown stronger since the spring. The presence of a strong El Nino almost ensures that 2015 will become the warmest on record for Earth and will have ripple effects on weather patterns all over the world.

A strong El Nino event would likely lead to enhanced rainfall in California this fall and winter, a quieter than normal Atlantic hurricane season, a warmer than normal winter over large parts of the U.S., and a very active hurricane and typhoon season in the Pacific. Some of these El Nino-related effects have already manifested themselves and, over the U.S., will become particularly apparent by the fall and winter. California So Desperate For Water They Are Turning To Magic, Spiritualism And Witches To Find It.

Posted: 20 Jul 2015 03:29 PM PDT

WITH NEARLY 50 PERCENT OF THE STATE IN “EXCEPTIONAL DROUGHT,” CALIFORNIANS ARE INCREASINGLY TURNING TO SPIRITUAL METHODS AND EVEN MAGIC IN THEIR DESPERATION TO BRING AN END TO THE DRY SPELL.

“A drought is upon her waters; and they shall be dried up: for it is the land of graven images, and they are mad upon their idols.” Jeremiah 50:38

Vern Tassey doesn’t advertise. He’s never even had a business card. But here in California’s Central Valley, word has gotten around that he’s a man with “the gift,” and Tassey, a plainspoken, 76-year-old grandfather, has never been busier. Farmers call him day and night — some from as far away as the outskirts of San Francisco and even across the state line in Nevada. They ask, sometimes even beg, him to come to their land. “Name your price,” one told him. But Tassey has so far declined. What he does has never been about money, he says, and he prefers to work closer to home.

Tassey is what is known as a “water witch,” or a dowser — someone who uses little more than intuition and a rod or a stick to locate underground sources of water. It’s an ancient art that dates back at least to the 1500s — though some dowsers have argued the origins are even earlier, pointing to what they say is Biblical evidence of Moses using a rod to summon water. In California, farmers have been “witching the land” for decades — though the practitioners of this obscure ritual have never been as high profile or as in demand as during the last year. MORE

South African Student Leader Under Investigation for Facebook Comment Opposing ‘Gay Marriage’

“We are institutionalizing and normalizing sin! Sin. May God have mercy on us,” she wrote earlier this month. Pae said that after she posted the status, those who disagreed began threatening her and posting homosexual pornography on her page. She states that her office was also vandalized, as the Scriptures she had displayed in the room were torn down and replaced with signs that read “Get out of here.” MORE

“My Last Day” — the Jesus Anime

9 powerful minutes of animation that begins with a thief behind bars watching the scourging of Jesus, and it ends with the thief dying next to Jesus, and waking to see Him in a beautiful place.

The dying thief: What was so great about his faith?

There are many acts of extraordinary faith in the Bible. The one that has impressed me the most concerns the dying thief on the cross. We could take the approach that he had nothing to lose, so he decided to cast his lot with Jesus. But this makes absolutely no sense of the text and the context.
In this conversion we have a specific fulfillment of Christ’s first words on the cross. No sooner had Christ spoken the words, “Father, forgive them,” had the Father answered that prayer by turning a once-reviling criminal into a Christ-glorifying saint. While the soon-to-be converted criminal was not directly responsible for Christ’s death, he nevertheless joined with those who were and was thus indirectly addressed when Christ asked for God to forgive “them.”
Christ, the sinless one, was numbered with or counted among the transgressors (Isa. 53:12; Luke 22:37), all of whom have a bigger problem than the day-to-day sins they commit. They hate Christ, the God-man. Anyone who has a master other than the Lord Jesus hates him (Lk. 16:13; Gal. 4:8). That these two criminals loathed him is clearly manifested during the crucifixion: “And the robbers who were crucified with him also reviled him in the same way” (Matt. 27:44).
When the criminal who was converted was doing his worst against Christ, Christ was doing his best for this criminal.
The conversion of the one criminal was most extraordinary and testifies to the power of Christ’s prayer and the grace of God. Why?
This criminal’s faith did not come at a time such as when Christ turned water into wine; or performed miracles, such as walking on water, opening the eyes of a blind man, or raising Lazarus from the dead. No! The criminal believed on the Messiah while he was hanging as one cursed upon a tree. The criminal trusted in and boldly defended the one whose disciples had abandoned him. Jesus was at his lowest when this criminal asked to be remembered in Christ’s kingdom.
When he was on the cross, did anyone publicly cry out, as John the Baptist did, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn. 1:29)? But this is essentially what the dying thief did. Little wonder, then, that Christ should promise him a place in his kingdom: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise” (Lk. 23:43).
The criminal acknowledged he was guilty; he acknowledged that Christ was not (“this man has done nothing wrong”); he feared God; but, and here is the key: the criminal did not merely want to be in a better place. He wanted to be with Christ in a better place: “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” (Lk. 23:42). The criminal believed “against all hope”.
Heaven is a better place because that is where Christ is. Everyone wants to go to heaven, but not everyone wants to go to Christ’s heaven. Not so with this criminal: he saw, with his eyes, Christ at his worst; but with the eyes of faith, he believed that Christ would soon be at his best, and so put his faith in a dying king.
Christ is always – always! – willing to save even the most miserable of sinners. A recognition of guilt (Lk. 23:40) and a confidence in him and not ourselves (Lk. 23:42) will always lead to the most assuring truth a sinner can receive: the Savior welcomes such into his paradise!
“One is saved, and we may not despair; the other is lost, and we may not presume.” Spurgeon

“It’s about marriage equality,” Collier told the Associated Press. “You can’t have this without polygamy.” A county civil litigator Kevin Gillen said he was reviewing Montana’s bigamy laws and expected to send a formal response to Collier by this week.”

Christian News Network reports that an ISIS-connected gunman shot and killed four U.S. marines at two separate Tennessee military facilities on Thursday, before being fatally wounded by police. The shootings were carried out within two hours of each other and are believed to have been committed by the same gunman, who has been identified as […]

Congress Calls for Probe Over Planned Parenthood Trafficked Body Parts

Jul 16, 2015 03:41 pm | A. Spreeman

Get this: Federal law PROHIBITS the sale of body parts of aborted babies. But experts say the law is so narrow and weak that Planned Parenthood may still be technically in compliance. Huh?  At least some are outraged enough to do something about it. But wait – where are the Democrats? [insert chirping of crickets] […]

(Christian News Network) Media outlets that asserted that the owners of a Christian bakery in Oregon were not ordered to pay damages for refusing to bake a cake for a lesbian’s same-sex ceremony, but were rather punished for “publishing” the women’s addresses, are retracting their claims and apologizing for disseminating inaccurate information. A Reformation The Church Doesn’t Need: Answering Revisionist Pro-gay Theology

NY Times Op-Ed Makes the Case for Legal Polygamy based on Obergefell

As the idea of legal gay marriage has grown more popular, the public by-and-large remains resistant to legal polygamous marriage. And that is why gay marriage supporters have until now tried to discount the slippery slope argument that the one leads to the other. They didn’t want public opinion to turn against gay marriage out of a fear of polygamous marriage.

But now that gay marriage is the law of the land, they don’t have to worry about that anymore. And so today The New York Times has published an op-ed making the case for polygamy. And it does so by appealing to the logic of Obergefell v. Hodges. William Baude writes,

NOW that the dust is settling from the Supreme Court’s decision in Obergefell v. Hodges, which recognized a right to same-sex marriage, there are new questions. In particular, could the decision presage a constitutional right to plural marriage? If there is no magic power in opposite sexes when it comes to marriage, is there any magic power in the number two?…

Justice Anthony M. Kennedy’s majority opinion in Obergefell did not focus primarily on the issue of sexual orientation. Instead, its main focus was on a “fundamental right to marry” — a right that he said could not be limited to rigid historical definitions or left to the legislative process. That right was about autonomy and fulfillment, about child rearing and the social order. By those lights, groups of adults who have profound polyamorous attachments and wish to build families and join the community have a strong claim to a right to marry…

So the real force of the polygamy question is a lesson in humility. We should not assume that our judges have all the answers. And we should not assume we have them either. Instead we should recognize that once we abandon the rigid constraints of history, we cannot be sure that we know where the future will take us.

This is not the last we will hear of these kinds of arguments. Now that the genie is out of the bottle, there will be no getting him back in.

More Smoking-Gun Evidence of the Evil of Planned Parenthood #defundpp

Just to be clear, Planned Parenthood has argued that everything it has done is legal. Planned Parenthood is not disputing the most damnable aspects of this video–that their services include killing babies in utero and receiving payment to cover the cost of distributing baby body parts for research. Those are the facts that are undisputed and that shock the conscience. The latest undercover video is more evidence of the whole bloody business (see above).

We need this video to be disseminated far and wide. People need to know what Planned Parenthood is—the kind of place where the dismemberment of live human beings is discussed casually over lunch. That a place like this even exists is a scandal. That what it does is legal is an even bigger scandal. That American taxpayers subsidize this scandal at a rate of $1.4 million dollars per day is damning.

We can be thankful that House Majority Leader John Boehner has called for a Congressional investigation of Planned Parenthood. Hopefully this will finally lead to defunding this barbarous organization. But as a people, we need more than that—nothing short of repentance in sackcloth and ashes.

The primary outrage is not the trafficking of body parts—as unseemly and immoral as that is. The primary outrage is the killing of unborn human beings.

We are not talking about lab rats here. We are talking about people. People are being dismembered and killed in utero. The trafficking of their body parts serves to highlight the prior offense—killing innocent people. That is what Planned Parenthood does every day.

In their annual report, Planned Parenthood said they ended the lives of 327,653 unborn children in the span of one year. That means that Planned Parenthood kills about 900 people per day. If that doesn’t shock the conscience, then nothing will.

“I Want a Lamborghini”: Second Expose’ Released After Planned Parenthood Denies Selling Baby Organs

According to Christian News Network:

Days after the president of Planned Parenthood released a video statement denying that the organization makes any profit from selling the organs of aborted babies, a second undercover video has been released showing another top director joking that she would like enough to buy a Lamborghini.

“I want to be really clear: The allegation that Planned Parenthood profits in any way from tissue donation is not true,” Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards claimed in a video on Thursday, emphasizing the word “any.”

But on Tuesday, The Center for Medical Progress released a second undercover video, this time with abortionist Mary Gatter, the president of Planned Parenthood’s Medical Directors Council. The Center for Medical Progress again posed as a fetal tissue procurement company, and asked Gatter what kind of compensation she would expect for intact organs.

Next target in same-sex marriage battle: Christian schools’ tax exempt status

ChristianExaminer reports:

Christian schools and other non-profit religious organizations opposed to same-sex marriage are in danger of losing their tax-exempt status if Congress fails to act and stop the IRS, according to a coalition of 15 state attorneys general who say the Obama administration’s top lawyer conceded the point during Supreme Court oral arguments this year.

West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, a Republican, led the coalition in writing a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.) and Speaker of the House John Boehner (R.-Ohio), saying religious freedom is at stake.

“As the chief legal officers of our States, were are concerned that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) may deny tax-exempt status to religious organizations following the decision of the Supreme Court of the United States in Obergefell v. Hodges,” the coalition wrote.

Noah’s story, will it become our story?
by Mike Oppenheimer, 7/6/15 Let Us Reason

Matt 24:38-39 “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,” and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” Noah’s story is one of separation as he kept himself and his family from the defections and corruption of the society he lived in. He gave a testimony to all those who would ask about the boat he was building, not doubt being mocked as it was being built. The people watching him do this year after year for their whole lives until it was completed.

Christian Colleges Falling Deeper into Apostasy As They Cave in to Supreme Court Ruling
by Lighthouse Trails, 7/9/15 LT Publishing

Quick to jump on the band wagon for accepting the homosexual lifestyle is Baylor University, (the largest Baptist university in the world). According to a July 8th 2015 Time magazine article titled “This University Has Dropped Its Ban on ‘Homosexual Acts,'”  Baylor “dropped a prohibition on ‘homosexual acts’ from its sexual conduct policy”this past May. But Baylor is not the only one. A Christianity Today article, dated July 8th 2015, titled “Hope College and Belmont to Offer Benefits to Same-Sex Spouses” explains how Belmont University (in TN) and Hope College (MI) are “extending benefits to same-sex spouses of employees after last month’s Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage nationwide.” By the  way, you can be sure Christianity Today isn’t too upset about these changes-they’ve been promoting the emerging church and contemplative spirituality for a long time. Wheaton College has already headed down this path showing acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle, and many others will follow suit. And remember, those colleges are training the next generation of pastors and church leaders so the affects will undoubtedly be remarkable. It appears it is too late to stop the tide of what is happening to Christian colleges. But at Lighthouse Trails, we will continue to send out a warning to parents and grandparents to keep their kids out of these schools and try to find ones that are in a fast-diminishing group of biblically based colleges. At the very least, we hope parents and grandparents will make sure their college-age kids and grandkids are well equipped to live in a world that rejects Christ and in a church that ignores spiritual deception.

Southern Baptist pastor Rick Warren will be a part of the ecumenical and interfaith gathering this September where Pope Francis himself is expected to appear. In the Catholic Herald piece we learn that the most important thing that can happen at the week long congress is conversion so that “families can become a force of change for good.” Obviously the conversion they’re referring to is placing their faith in Roman Catholicism. So it’s doubtful that the purveyor of pragmatism, Rick Warren, will share the true gospel of Jesus Christ during his speech, as that would certainly be viewed as divisive. But we shall see. The Catholic Herald’s report begins: More than 1.5 million people are expected for the Mass with Pope Francis in Philadelphia this September, said organisers of the next World Meeting of Families. A high-level delegation from Philadelphia, led by Archbishop Charles J Chaput, was in Rome as of Monday to meet Vatican officials, review some of the planning and promote the week-long congress.

Bruce Jenner, Gay Marriage, and Planned Parenthood: The Self-Deification of a Nation

Blogger for The Cripplegate, Mike Riccardi, believes that the issues American’s are being forced to deal with–transgrenderism, homosexualism and the destruction of marriage, and abortion–“all stem from the same polluted fountain out of which even the first sin flowed: self-deification. Satan tempted Adam and Eve to rebel against God in the Garden by holding out to them the deceitful promise that they would become like God in their rebellion. And it seems plain to me that our society is absolutely intoxicated with the very same prospect. They want to be God.”

Riccardi begins his piece by bringing us back to the beginning…when America was comprised of a highly “moral and religious people.”

The last few months have been emotionally tiring for Christians in America.

Though many debate whether the United States was ever a “Christian nation,” there can be no denying that a Christian worldview and biblical principles were fundamental in the formation of this country. Indeed, the founding fathers understood this even as they crafted the charter documents of our government. Thomas Jefferson wrote that the “inalienable rights” of “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness,” which mark the ideals of every American, are endowed to us by our Creator. John Adams wrote, “We have no government, armed with power, capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.

Persia, Prophecy, Pulpits and Pews

By Terry James

This is why study of Bible prophecy is not just important, but absolutely critical. The majority of pastors and teachers in churches—and I’m referring to those churches that preach the Gospel and are led by those who are born again believers—deliberately avoid even a cursory mention of prophecy found in God’s word. They are willfully ignorant. They keep their parishioners in the pews dumbed down by their neglect.

The Fullness of the Gentiles

John N. Darby, did not ‘create’ dispensationalism as a system of thought as he is often accused of doing. The idea that God moved men through different ages or stages, was a concept held by many long before Darby came along. What John N. Darby did do, was codify this thought into an organized theological movement that centered it’s foundation on a return to the literal, historical, grammatical, understanding of ALL Scripture. The Reformers may have made a positive step in the right direction three centuries earlier, but fell short in part, because they did not include ALL Scripture. Thus, they carried over Roman Catholic eschatology with them. (Baggage fraught with error).

Exiles in Our Own Land

Jan Markell’s guests, White House correspondent Bill Koenig and Dr. Robert Jeffress, say Christians are now exiles in our own land. God-fearing Bible believing Christians understand the seriousness of our sinful times but others can’t and won’t. The three conclude that God is waking us up and shaking us up so that the church will start looking up. It is growing unspeakably dark so that we will loosen our grip on this earth. The greatest separation of church and state is the forthcoming Rapture. We carry Jeffress’ book, “Countdown to the Apocalypse” and it is found here. Red heifers in Israel prompt 3rd Temple speculation

The altar and sacred vessels have been reconstructed. The architectural plans are being drawn up. Now a group is taking another step toward fulfilling the biblical prophecy of a restored Temple by raising a group of red heifers in the land of Israel.

And evangelical Christian leaders are divided about what it means if the Third Temple, prophesied to play a key role in the end times, can actually be constructed in Jerusalem.

5 Chilling Societal Developments Since Same-Sex Marriage Ruling

The end-time scenario prior to the Return of our Lord can be described as both gory and glory. According to Scripture, it will be a season that is not merely bad but mad. This is the meaning of the term “perilous” in 2 Timothy 3:1 describing this tumultuous period. This is also why the Old Testament closes with the prophecy signaling these twin aspects of the close of the age: “the great and terrible day of the Lord” (Mal. 4:5).

I am persuaded we have entered this scary season. We’re seeing the beginning of the great “falling away” (2 Thess.2:3) scripture warns about. Jesus prophesied about how difficult these days will be when He said, “If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive” (Mt.24:22).

The Planned Parenthood fiasco: a few questions only we would ask

by Dan Phillips

I take it you’re all familiar with the Planned Parenthood should-be PR nightmare. (If not, you could for instance check out Denny Burk‘s site, such as here and here and here.)

I won’t add to or rehash all that. I just have a few observations presented as questions.

  1. Have pro-aborts shifted the threshold of abortability from viability to marketability?
  2. If what Planned Parenthood is selling is sold as human parts, then what was it that they killed?
  3. Given Planned Parenthood’s presence in the body-marketing industry, should it be renamed “Planned Igorhood“?
  4. Or, since (A) the still-heard rationalization for abortion is “It’s her body,” and (B) Planned Parenthood is marketing the part of “her body” that they extracted, so that (C) Planned Parenthood, by its “logic” (?!) is selling women’s bodies, should they be renamed “Planned Pimphood“?
  5. Since they are selling these poor victims as humans (even intact, God grant us repentance) does that signal a shift? That is, abortion was always premised on “It’s not a human being until it’s  born.” Is it now, “It’s not a human being until it’s born…or aborted?”

Ponder those, and feel free to share profligately.

Notesee here, for a Biblical study regarding abortion.

Are You a Superstitious Calvinist?

Are You a Superstitious Calvinist?John Calvin uses a surprising term to describe our neglect of the doctrine of God’s providence in the course of our everyday lives. He calls it superstition.

Superstitious people wrongly attribute supernatural power to things that do not actually possess that power: a black cat, a broken mirror, a ladder overhead, salt thrown over your shoulder, the chalk of the third base line.

But what does superstition have to do with providence? The classical Reformed view of providence teaches that God is in ultimate control of everything in the universe, including the free choices and actions (good and bad) of all people. If this understanding is correct, it is superstitious to think and feel and act as though other human beings possess ultimate causality in what they do. We’re ascribing God’s role to them.

But isn’t this how we often think, feel, and act — even those of us who are Calvinists? We live as though the people who hurt and harm us are writing their own damaging scripts rather than fulfilling the sovereign plan of God.

Seeing the Bad Fruit of Superstition

In his Institutes of the Christian Religion, Calvin exposes the bad fruit of our superstition:

We are superstitiously timid, I say, if whenever creatures threaten us or forcibly terrorize us we become as fearful as if they had some intrinsic power to harm us, or might wound us inadvertently and accidently, or there were not enough help in God against their harmful acts. (1.XVI.3)

Our superstition makes us timid and afraid. Early in my pastoral ministry, one woman with influence in the congregation was regularly critical of my preaching and leadership. Even her occasional affirmations were backhanded put-downs; she once complimented one my sermons by saying it was much better than another sub-par sermon I had recently given.

Over time, I developed a prickly sensitivity toward her. I realize now I was being superstitious, ascribing to her a power she didn’t actually possess, forgetting God’s sovereignty over the words she spoke and his intention to work something good in my life through them. I didn’t need to fear what she said. As Calvin says, “there is no erratic power, or action, or motion in creatures, but . . . they are governed by God’s secret plan in such a way that nothing happens except what is knowingly and willingly decreed by him.” The fruit of my failure to live in light of this knowledge was fear.

Symptoms of a Superstitious Calvinist

Calvin’s use of the category of superstition isn’t perfect. It could wrongly be interpreted to imply that humans have no real agency. But I think it’s a helpful way of expressing a widespread problem. Many of us are superstitious Calvinists. We believe in God’s exhaustive, meticulous providence, but in our actual experience of daily life, we don’t live from that conviction. Our superstition makes us into:

1. Avoiders of People

Superstitious people avoid black cats, broken mirrors, ladders, and Friday the 13th . Superstitious Calvinists avoid people who intimidate us with their words and actions.

2. Manipulators of People

Superstitious people manipulate salt by throwing it over their shoulders and wood by knocking on it. Superstitious Calvinists try to manipulate people. We do what we think necessary to make them happy with us. We stroke their egos or avoid saying hard things. Why? We’re ascribing too much power to them.

3. Worshipers of People

Superstitious people give credit to the stars, to their lucky rabbit’s foot, to their four-leaf clover, or to the horseshoe over their door. Superstitious Calvinists give too much thanks and credit to other people (sometimes themselves) when things go well, and not enough credit to God.

The problem is that we’re called to minister to the very people of whom we’re superstitious. It’s as though a man superstitious of broken mirrors was sent to work in a mirror factory. How well is that going to work out?

Savoring the Good Fruit of God’s Providence

Conquering our superstition through meditation upon the truth of God’s providence brings wonderful fruit. The Heidelberg Catechism asks, “What advantage comes from acknowledging God’s creation and providence?” And answers:

We learn that we are to be patient in adversity, grateful in the midst of blessing, and to trust our faithful God and Father for the future, assured that no creature shall separate us from his love, since all creatures are so completely in his hand that without his will they cannot even move.

Belief in God’s providence makes us comprehensively thankful because everything that happens becomes a reason for saying thanks. Some years ago, our family went to the lake for a swim, all of us in bad moods and out of sorts. As we pulled into a drive-thru for coffee, we discovered that a friend was in front of us in line. We surprised her by paying for her order, and that changed the mood of our entire family for the rest of the day.

Did God arrange that? If I believed in anything other than the classical view of God’s providence, I wouldn’t be sure. She was there of her own free choice. But believing as I do in God’s meticulous providence, I recognize that her presence in line ahead of us was God’s grace to grumpy people. So, I thank him for it.

An Example of Calvin Killing Superstition

Belief in God’s providence also gives us strength and confidence in life and ministry. John Calvin didn’t just write about the benefits of God’s providence, he actually experienced those benefits.

Calvin and his former friend Sebastian Castellio engaged in a serious theological dispute in the 1500s. In 1558, Calvin published his book Concerning the Secret Providence of God (his third response to Castellio). In his open letter response to Calvin, Castellio viciously mocked him. He said Calvin’s books were ‘weak and ineffective’ because his reasoning was ‘obscure and crude.’

Castellio ended his letter with this jab: “I hope that you might not be angry on account of this letter. If you are just and true, it will not seem fearful. First, it is in fact to your advantage that you might be admonished by it, and second, if you understand (as you say) that all things happen by necessity, you must also believe that this letter was written by me necessarily.” Ouch!

At the very end of his response to Castellio, Calvin says,

Concerning the final cavil you throw out, that I am not to be angry at your insults if I believe your writing was necessary — for me this is truly a serious and efficacious exhortation to endurance . . .

Calvin goes on to recall the example of King David, who believed that God’s secret providence governed the curses and insults of his enemy Shimei, and therefore did not take personal vengeance upon Shimei. Calvin writes, “No man will ever bear the insults of the Devil and the wicked with calm moderation unless he turns his thoughts from them and toward God alone.”

Away with superstition! As we develop a deeper appreciation of the providence of God, I pray we’ll know the comforting, empowering, and liberating activity of God’s fatherly hand in every event of our lives.

What is The Gospel?

INTRODUCTION

Brian Houston has been publicly exposed by both Christian pastors as a heretic and as a false teacher by even the secular media. Sadly, people insist on calling Brian Houston a teacher in spite of him financially ripping off people through his false tithe doctrine. This is a key mark of a Prosperity cult leader. And sure enough, Brian Houston preaches the false Prosperity Jesus, the false Prosperity Gospel and many other false Prosperity Doctines (see his books You Need More Money, You Can Change the Future, Get A Life, For This Cause, For This I Was Born, How To Live A Blessed Life; and also see Brian Houston’s father’s book, The Release of the Human Spirit).

According to scripture, Brian Houston is not a Christian. This is because he continually throws people “into confusion” and is…

Reaping a Cold Prayer Life

Unfathomable Grace

You who are in Christ Jesus, you need not fear the wrath of God. All your sins have been paid for; there is no judicial debt left of you to cover. Jesus has paid it all. You are free from the condemnation of the just Judge.

However, the Heavenly Father promises to discipline all his children, and oft times he allows his discipline to be the sad consequences of your sinful decisions. Yes, you are free in Jesus Christ, but you are not free to sin and avoid the consequences which result from your evil decisions and actions. Yes, sometimes God shows mercy, but quite often he will lovingly allow you to reap that which you have sown.  And quite often, one of your sad “reapings” will be a cold prayer life.

So why does God not seem near? Why does your prayer life seem stagnant? There may be numerous reasons:

Perhaps the lack of communion and perceived distance between…

GodLife: What is Sexual Immorality?

Scripture:

“Carefully determine what pleases the Lord.” Ephesians 5:10

God created sex to be a beautiful gift. In Genesis 2, God says it was not good for man to be alone so God created the perfect partner, a woman, so they could become one flesh. The chapter closes with the statement, “they were both naked and felt no shame.” Sex creates a unique relationship that involves physical, emotional and mental unity and completion.

If sex is blessed by God, what makes it immoral?

EEOC just unilaterally decrees LGBTQs a CRA protected class under federal employment law. Get ready religious organizations.

thereformedmind

Constitutional designs, democratic processes, legislative procedures, state politics, elections, the rule of law, we are told are too risky, too slow, and not even necessary to advance social movements and revolutions. Just use the courts. But why? Using the courts to create rights and make law is so outdated. With the ever expanding unilateral powers of the executive, this is a lot easier, cheaper, and quicker: bureaucratic fiat.

You might recall during the oral argument before the supreme court, Obama’s Attorney General tried to relieve the fears of Justice Alito.  Alito was concerned if they ruled in favor of same-sex marriage, it would mean that they are making gays and lesbians out to be a protected class in the same way racial minorities and women are.  This would mean that openly gay employees even at religious institutions would be protected (and the principle of religious freedom and/or separation of church…

The Malignancy of Sin

AbbasGirlMe

Cancer! It’s a dreaded word, a word that often invokes a sense of despair and sometimes even hopelessness.

Another term for cancer is malignancy. Medically, the word malignant describes a tumor of potentially unlimited growth that expands locally into adjoining tissue by invasion and systemically by metastasizing into other areas of the body. Left alone, a malignancy tends to infiltrate and metastasize throughout the entire body and will eventually cause death. No wonder cancer and malignant are such dreaded words.

Sin is a spiritual and moral malignancy. Left unchecked, it can spread throughout our entire inner being and contaminate every area of our lives. Even worse, it often will “metastasize” from us into the lives of other believers around us. None of us lives on a spiritual or social island. Our attitudes, words, and actions, and oftentimes even our private unspoken thoughts, tend to have an effect on those around us.

The application of our justification

Possessing the Treasure

by Mike Ratliff

1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 5:1 translated from the NA28 Greek text)

In this post we will look at Romans 4:13-5:1 which is the application of the theology that Paul presents in Romans 3:20-31, which could be summarized with the statement, “By works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight since through the law come knowledge of sin, but the righteousness of God is manifest through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe.” I must interject something my brethren. In these times of doctrinal uncertainty and rampant apostasy in the visible church it is imperative that we who are truly in Christ know what we believe and why…

Should Men Find a Wife? Theophrastus on Marriage

Zwinglius Redivivus

Theophrastus has this to say on the matter….  buckle your seatbelts:

A wise man therefore must not take a wife. For in the first place his study of philosophy will be hindered, and it is impossible for anyone to attend to his books and his wife. Matrons want many things, costly dresses, gold, jewels, great outlay, maid-servants, all kinds of furniture, litters and gilded coaches.

Then come curtain-lectures the livelong night: she complains that one lady goes out better dressed than she: that another is looked up to by all: ‘I am a poor despised nobody at the ladies’ assemblies.’ ‘Why did you ogle that creature next door?’ ‘Why were you talking to the maid?’ ‘What did you bring from the market?’ ‘I am not allowed to have a single friend, or companion.’ She suspects that her husband’s love goes the same way as her hate. There may be in…

REQUEST OR COMMAND?

AbbasGirlMe

You are my friends if you do what I command you. (JOHN 15: 14)

Under the reign of grace, is the moral will of God (considered as a whole) a request or a command? The word request connotes desire; whereas the word command connotes authority to require. Response to a desire is optional; response to a command is not. So when Jesus said we love Him by obeying His commands, was He using the word command as we ordinarily understand it, or was He using it as an expression of God’s desire? In the realm of grace, does the moral will of God express the desire of God as to how He would like us to live, or does it express the requirement of God as to how we are to live?

Some people readily say God desires that we be holy, but God does not require that we be holy…

Truth says, “Examine me,” while tolerance says, “Leave me alone.”

Possessing the Treasure

by Mike Ratliff

10 The brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea, and when they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews. 11 Now these were more noble- minded than those in Thessalonica, for they received the word with great eagerness, examining the Scriptures daily to see whether these things were so. (Acts 17:10-11 NASB)

We live in an age in which tolerance is demanded, but those who disagree are quickly and swiftly met with heavy-handed intolerance from those very same people demanding tolerance. Of course, for what are they demanding tolerance? Isn’t it the very things that our Lord God calls sin such as homosexuality, bestiality, adultery, murder of the unborn, et cetera? Since the Christian is called by God Himself to use His Word alone as the source for truth then we must do so without compromise. This being so, those who…

Dear World- Westboro IS NOT Baptist AND IS NOT Church

Zwinglius Redivivus

The despicable acts of the cult known as ‘Westboro Baptist Church’ are not representative of Baptists of any sort.  Baptists don’t call on God to slaughter people.  Baptists don’t despise people simply because they have different views or practices.  Baptists believe things that they hold important but having once been a persecuted despised minority they are aware of the harm the horror of hate can bring to bear and so do not themselves practice any sort of coerciveness.

The Westboro NOT Baptist NOT Church (not even Christian) cult may show up in Chattanooga to protest the funerals of those who were murdered there, but who does such a thing but those inspired themselves by hell itself?

Baptists neither hate homosexuals nor service men and women.  Quite the contrary.  Baptists take seriously the call of God to love even those with whom we have scant common ground but our humanity.

Westboro…

Planned Butcherhood Apologizes for the ‘Tone’ of its Employee…

Zwinglius Redivivus

The president of the abortion giant Planned Parenthood released a video on Thursday in which she apologized for the “tone” of one the organization’s top directors in an undercover video regarding the harvesting and sale of the organs of aborted babies.

“Our top priority is the compassionate care that we provide. In the video, one of our staff members speaks in a way that does not reflect that compassion. This is unacceptable, and I personally apologize for the staff member’s tone and statements,” Cecile Richards said in her two-minute statement. “As always, if there is any aspect of our work that can be strengthened, we want to know about it, and we take swift action to address it.”

As previously reported, a video released this week by the Center for Medical Progress provided undercover footage of abortionist Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s senior director of medical services, speaking…

Resource: What is the Evangelical Industrial Complex (EIC)?

INTRODUCTION

Chris Rosebrough from Fighting for the Faith coined the phrase ‘Evangelical Industrial Complex‘ to describe the current phenomena emerging from the fascist ‘Leadership Network’ founded by Bob Buford.

Buford’s ideas drawn are from the dangerous fascist visionary leadership philosophies from Peter Drucker and are the major paradigms behind the EIC. (Click here for more details.)

Evangelical Industrial Complex EIC Image: From ‘Camp on This’

The idea of the EIC is anti-Christian, unethical and something that Christ himself opposes. While organisations may be ignorant of what they are involved in, this is a system that is naturally hell-bent on elevating the ways of men and attempting to eliminate Christ and His Church (because men’s reputation is at stake).

“Jesus entered the temple and began to drive out those who were selling, saying to them, “It is written, ‘AND MY HOUSE SHALL BE A HOUSE OF PRAYER,’ but you have made it a ROBBERS’ DEN.” And He was…
