Planned Parenthood’s Denialism Doesn’t Hold Water

Zwinglius Redivivus

The president of Planned Parenthood says her organization’s clinics never adjust the abortion procedure to better preserve fetal organs for medical research and the organization’s charges only cover the cost of transmission to researchers.

Planned Parenthood has come under congressional scrutiny after two stealthily recorded videos showed officials discussing how they provide aborted fetal organs for research.

Abortion opponents have characterized the videos as showing the illegal harvesting and selling of organs.

Planned Parenthood’s president, Cecile Richards, says the group has done nothing illegal and is the target of a political smear campaign.

Believing the disclaimer of someone who is the head of an organization that vacuums human infants from their mother’s womb makes as much sense as believing the fox in the henhouse with feathers in its teeth who protests that he has eaten nothing at all.  If you will murder, you will lie.

Donald Trump has consistently been outpolling all announced Republican presidential candidates despite a barrage of lies in the media about the busine

The 10 Biggest Media Lies About Donald Trump
Donald Trump has consistently been outpolling all announced Republican presidential candidates despite a barrage of lies in the media about the business mogul. Here’s a look at some of the more prominent untruths the media have reported about Trump:

Et Tu, Schu?
“Schumer is not a Shomer” were the words emblazoned on dozens of placards that were held by some of the 12,000 people who flooded Times Square last week to protest the “Death to America/Death to Israel” deal that Barack Obama and his cronies made on July 14th with––to this day, to this hour––a palpably belligerent, anti-Western, anti-Semitic Iran.

Obama Stopped Being a Christian American Upon Election to POTUS
January 20, 2009 was the date; the infamous date when the destroyer of the country called the United States of America began his crusade to kill off the hopes and dreams of as many citizens as possible, and as many symbols and patriotic sayings as he possibly could annihilate. If some took actual lives with his deadly thrusts, the happier he was and the more he enjoyed being the “Messiah” of doom.

Thanks to Donald Trump, the major media are being forced to cover the illegal immigration movement, such as the proliferation of “sanctuary cities” across the U.S. that attract criminal aliens, give them legal protection, and let them back out on the streets to commit more crimes. But the really taboo topic is how these sanctuary cities grew out of a movement started by the Catholic Church and other churches.

Rouhani mocks US claim that all options are still on the table; great work John Kerry

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Sunday called on Washington officials to stop using threatening language against Tehran, hitting back at comments by US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Rouhani’s statement, published by the semi-official Fars news agency, came after Kerry said Thursday that the military option remains on the table vis-a-vis Iran, in case it does not adhere to the agreement on its nuclear program reached with world powers earlier this month.

“The US should know that it has no other option but respecting Iran and showing modesty towards the country and saying the right thing,” Rouhani told a crowd in the western Iranian city of Sanandij on Sunday.

Kerry said in a Washington Post op-ed jointly written with Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz published Thursday that the nuclear deal “extends the time Iran would need to develop a nuclear weapon, provides strong verification measures that give us ample time to respond if Iran chooses that path, and takes none of our options off the table.”

“The table they are talking about has broken legs,” Rouhani retorted Sunday.

Tisha B’Av poll: Israelis believe Iran biggest threat to security of State of Israel

Jews in Israel and around the world are observing the Fast of the Ninth of Av Sunday, the date on which the destruction of the two ancient Temples in Jerusalem took place and on which the other great calamities of Jewish history are also marked.

The day is designated as a fast to mourn the destruction of the First and Second Temples, and the Jewish exile from the Land of Israel after the Bar Kokhba revolt against Roman rule in Judea was put down in 135CE.

In the shadow of the international agreement between Iran and leading world powers that was reached earlier this month on the Iranian nuclear program, a poll conducted for the Bible Lands Museum in Jerusalem by the TNS research group found that 42 percent of Israelis are concerned that the State of Israel may be destroyed and that the biggest perceived threat was an Iranian attack with a nuclear weapon.

As in the Days of Noah: Kenyan leaders didn’t want discussion of gay rights during Obama visit

In recent weeks, political leaders and church figures in Kenya made it clear they did not want to entertain any discussion of gay rights during President Obama’s visit to the African country.

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta said the issue would not be on the agenda; his deputy, William Ruto, recently called homosexuality “dirty” while a group of Kenyan elders threatened to throw rotten eggs at Obama if he dared to raise the issue.

But Obama dwelled at length on gay rights at Saturday’s news conference with Kenyatta, comparing discrimination against homosexuals with the U.S. history of slavery and warning that governments should not treat good, law-abiding citizens differently simply because of their sexual preference.

“I’m not equivocal on this. If somebody is a law-abiding citizen who’s going about their business or working in a job and obeying the traffic signs and doing all of the other things that good citizens are supposed to do and not harming anybody, the idea that they’re going to be abused because of who they love is just wrong,” Obama said.

“As an African American in the U.S., I am painfully aware of what happens when people are treated differently under the law.”

Kenyatta responded that gay rights in Kenya is a “non-issue”.

Kenyan president rebukes with Obama’s gay rights message

The Hill reports:

President Obama on Saturday made an personal plea for gay rights during his visit to Kenya, warning that “bad things happen” when countries discriminate against certain groups of people.

“As an African-American in the United States, I am painfully aware of the history of what happens when people are treated differently under the law,” Obama added during a joint press conference with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta. “I’m unequivocal on this.”

But Obama’s call for universal gay rights was quickly dismissed by Kenyatta, who described the issue as something “our culture, our society does not accept.”

Security Tight As Kenya Prepares To Welcome Barack Obama Back To Country Of His Birth

1991 Literary Agent Bio Says Barack Obama Was “Born in Kenya”

“But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: For 16 years, Obama’s birthplace was listed in a national literary review magazine as “Kenya”. Obama was well aware of this and never once requested that it be changed. A year prior to his running for president, this listing was suddenly changed with the editor saying it was a (16 year) “publishing error”.  Indeed, everywhere one looks into Obama’s background, we find sealed records, scrubbed websites, altered documents, deception and unanswered questions.

NAIROBI, Kenya — A massive security operation is in place to protect President Barack Obama during his visit to Kenya, which has been frequently targeted by al-Shabab militants based in neighboring Somalia. Ahead of Obama’s arrival Friday evening, large numbers of security forces patrolled in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. Several U.S. military aircraft were spotted flying around the city. There have also been significant military attacks on Islamic militant targets in Somalia in recent weeks.

barack-hussein-obama-literary-agent-lists-birthplace-as-kenya-africa-birther-traitor-liar-antichrist

For 16 years, Obama’s birthplace was listed in a national literary review magazine as “Kenya”. A year prior to his running for president, this listing was changed and the editor said it was a (16 year) “publishing error”.

Major Nairobi roads will be temporarily closed and authorities said the international airport will be closed at times coinciding with Obama’s landing and departure Sunday for Ethiopia. Safaricom, a mobile network operator, warned of disruptions while Obama is in Nairobi to meet entrepreneurs and hold talks with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.

What a lot of people forget is that from 1991 all the way up to 2007, Barack Hussein Obama’s birth country was listed as “Kenya, Africa”. A 1991 booklet published by the literary agency representing Barack Obama, had for 16 years listed “Kenya” as the country of Obama’s birth. In the booklet, his bio states, “Barack Obama, the first African-American president of the Harvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.” Apparently this same description was used to describe our president until 2007, right before his first presidential bid.

1991 Literary Agent Obama Bio Says He Was “Born in Kenya”:

Obviously, Barack Obama was not born in America, until 2007 Obama never himself claimed to be born here. He allowed his own agent listing calling Kenya his birthplace to go unchallenged and uncorrected for 16 years. Obama has illegally obtained the presidency through false means and there is no one anywhere in our nation with the guts to have him explain under oath about his literary bio with the “wrong facts”, and other discrepancies regarding where he was actually born. Facts like how he wound up with a Social Security number that matches someone born in Connecticut.

The president who campaigned for a more “open government” and “full disclosure” will not unseal his medical records, his school records, his birth records or his passport records. He will not release his Harvard records, his Columbia College records, or his Occidental College records—he will not even release his Columbia College thesis. All his legislative records from the Illinois State Senate are missing and he claims his scheduling records during those State Senate years are lost as well. In addition, no one can find his school records for the elite K-12 college prep school, Punahou School, he attended in Hawaii.

For example, Obama’s application to Punahou School – now mysteriously missing – would likely contain a birth certificate. And, according to attorney Gary Kreep, “his Occidental College records are important as they may show he attended there as a foreign exchange student.” Indeed, Obama used his Indonesian name “Barry Soetoro” while attending Occidental. Kreep has filed lawsuits challenging Obama’s eligibility to be president and as part of his lawsuit he requested Obama’s records from Occidental. However, Obama’s lawyers quickly moved to stop Occidental from honoring this request.

Furthermore, now that at least three document authentication experts have declared the scanned “Certificate of Live Birth” Obama’s campaign team gave to a pro-Obama website to be an obvious phony; we know that he is hiding something here as well. Over 49 separate law suits have been filed on the eligibility/birth certificate issue alone, with several of the suits making it all the way the United States Supreme Court, only to be denied a full hearing.

Indeed, everywhere one looks into Obama’s background, we find sealed records, scrubbed websites, altered documents, deception and unanswered questions. Can anyone imagine for a second if John McCain or George Bush had blocked access to his school, medical, and birth records? It would have been headlines in their case,  but as with everything else concerning Obama, the media has given him a pass on this.

Of all these marvels, the latest mystery and probably most perplexing is that of Obama’s social security number. It appears that Obama has multiple identities in term of possessing numerous social security numbers. Orly Taitz, an attorney who has filed numerous suits against Obama regarding his eligibility to serve as president, appears to have been the first to discover this. In her suit, representing a number of military officers who are refusing to serve under an ineligible commander in chief, she hired private investigator Neil Sankey to conduct research on Obama’s prior addresses and Social Society numbers. Using Intelius, Lexis Nexis, Choice Point and other public records, Sankey found around 25 Social Security numbers connected with Obama’s name.

Trail Of Aborted Baby Body Parts Leads Major Corporations To Cut Ties And Funding To Planned Parenthood

American Express and American Cancer Society: We No Longer Donate to Planned Parenthood

“And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.” Jeremiah 32:35 (KJV)

Americans are paying more attention to the dirty deeds at Planned Parenthood than ever before now that the abortion business has been caught twice selling the body parts of aborted babies. Included in that additional attention is a concern about corporate contributions by large companies and organizations to the abortion giant.

american-express-major-corporations-cutting-ties-funding-to-planned-parenthood

As LifeNews reported yesterday, three such companies have indicated they no longer donate to Planned Parenthood after they had been listed on both Planned Parenthood’s web site as corporate funders and pro-life lists of companies that support Planned Parenthood. Those included Coca-Cola, Xerox and Ford Motor Company.

Now, another company and a large nonprofit group are joining the list — saying they last donated to Planned Parenthood many years ago and no longer do so: American Express and the American Cancer Society.

Officials with both companies contacted the Daily Signal and told the publication about the cessation of donations to Planned Parenthood:

American Express: “American Express last contributed to two Planned Parenthood community projects more than fifteen years ago. One project provided services to teens such as computer workshops, job preparation, mentoring, recreation and counseling. The other supported adult volunteers working with at-risk adolescents in a local school district.”

The American Cancer Society: “The American Cancer Society does not fund grants to Planned Parenthood affiliates. We have previously funded a very limited number of cancer control grants to Planned Parenthood affiliates to implement cancer control programs, such as training clinic staff to screen patients for smoking, providing patients the benefits of quitting smoking, and referring patients to a toll-free smoking cessation helpline. These grants expired several years ago. The American Cancer Society does not fund—nor has it ever funded—abortion or contraceptive counseling.”

This latest development comes in the wake of two undercover videos that showed Planned Parenthood executives talking about the sale of fetal body parts. Planned Parenthood is facing both federal and state investigationsand the possibility of losing taxpayer funding.

Obama Breaks Promise To Not Use Obamacare For Taxpayer-Funded Abortions

SIGN THE PETITION! Congress Must De-Fund Planned Parenthood Immediately

Here’s what the other companies had to say:

* A representative from Coca-Cola confirmed for The Daily Signal the company does not contribute to Planned Parenthood, nor does it match employee contributions to the organization.

* “We are making sure that Ford Motor Company is not listed as a Planned Parenthood contributor on their website,” a representative from Ford told The Daily Signal. “In addition, we do not offer an employee match for charitable contributions,” the Ford representative said. It has been at least 10 years since Ford stopped matching employee gift contributions, the representative added.

* Similarly, Xerox was listed on the Planned Parenthood website and has said it also does not donate in any way. “We checked our files for the last 20 years and have no record of Xerox Corp. contributing to Planned Parenthood,” a representative from Xerox told The Daily Signal.

By Wednesday afternoon, Planned Parenthood had removed Xerox from its list of companies that match gifts to the organization. By Thursday morning, Planned Parenthood removed every company name listed as a donor. source

DOJ to Investigate Pro-life Group Behind Alarming Planned Parenthood Videos

Our upside down world . . .

The Obama administration proved it is willing to do anything to protect its relationship with Planned Parenthood. Instead of reacting like most people did to the disturbing footage of Planned Parenthood doctors casually discussing the harvesting of aborted babies’ organs, the White House shrugged.

Then they decided to target the pro-life group who dared to investigate the abortion giant.

This year, the ninth of Av falls on July 25 and I cannot help but think about the way that it might be remembered and added to the long list of catastrophes for the Jewish people.

We are in the midst of a global crisis with the Islamic Republic of Iran which is on the threshold of acquiring its own nuclear arsenal. The same Iran has recently and repeatedly vowed to destroy Israel and the United States.

Group Unveils 8 Foot High Statue Of Satan In Muslim Majority Detroit

A group unveiled an 8-foot-tall bronze statue featuring a goat-headed Satan in Detroit during a gathering that was billed as the “largest public satanic ceremony in history.”

“…but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.” Luke 25:53 (KJV)

EDITOR’S NOTE: It is no coincidence that Detroit, the American city with one of the largest Muslim populations, is now also home to the largest monument dedicated to Satan. I think the two go together quite nicely.

DETROIT – Last night the Satanic Temple Saturday’s private event was open only to people with tickets, which sold for $25 each. Invitations to “The Unveiling” summoned guests to prepare for “a night of chaos, noise, and debauchery… Come dance with the Devil and experience history in the making.” The event location was not announced publicly and was known only to those with tickets.

The group said the bronze Baphomet monument, which weighs about one ton and has never been seen before in public, “is not only an unparalleled artistic triumph, but stands as a testament to plurality and the power of collective action.” The statue, which backed by an inverted pentagram and flanked by statues of two young children gazing up at the creature, shows Satan with horns, hooves, wings and a beard.

The group went on to say the unveiling event “will serve as a call-to-arms from which we’ll kick off our largest fight to date in the name of individual rights to free exercise against self-serving theocrats.”

Photography was strictly prohibited at the 18-and-older event unless, of course, you’re a $75 VIP ticket holder. Those partygoers will have an exclusive opportunity to be photographed seated on the Baphomet monument. source

Obama lectures Kenyan president on gay rights

Posted: 26 Jul 2015 04:48 AM PDT

President Barack Obama on Saturday lectured Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta about his country’s gay rights record. “When you start treating people differently not because of any harm they are doing to anybody, but because they are different, that’s the path whereby freedoms begin to erode,” Obama said at a joint press conference with the Kenyan leader in Nairobi. “And bad things happen.”

Under Kenyan law, sexual activity between men is illegal and punishable with a maximum imprisonment of 14 years. Many Kenyan leaders had encouraged Obama not to discuss gay rights on his first trip to the country as President. But Obama equated legalized discrimination of gays to legalized racism in America. “And when a government gets in a habit of people treating people differently, those habits can spread,” Obama continued. “As an African-American, I am painfully aware of what happens when people are treated differently under the law.” MORE

Skipping church? Facial recognition software could be tracking you

Posted: 26 Jul 2015 04:43 AM PDT

Could Big Brother be coming to a church near you? One software company is now providing churches with facial recognition software to better track who shows up at their worship services. Manually tracking attendance is a chore for some churches, especially large ones that have multiple services and entrances. Now a company called Churchix provides facial recognition software, which captures someone’s face through a photo or video and then identifies it by comparing it with those in a database of photos. Now used by Facebook and dating apps and at traffic stoplights, the software is becoming more common in every day interactions.

Moshe Greenshpan, founder & CEO of the Israeli facial recognition company Skakash, said its subsidiary Face-Six’s clients include airports, law enforcement agencies and casinos. After an international church asked the company for a similar service, they decided to launch Churchix, a company designed to help churches specifically, in February. Greenshpan said about 40 churches have signed on, including eight in the United States, although he declined to name any of them. He also declined to say how much the churches pay for the software. He said the churches that use the software range in membership from 100 to 3,000. MORE

Satanic Temple to Unveil Goat-Headed Statue of the Devil in DetroitPosted: 26 Jul 2015 04:36 AM PDT

The Satanic Temple on Saturday unveiled an 8-foot-tall bronze statue of a goat-headed Devil in Detroit — and was called the “largest public satanic ceremony in history,” WWJ-TV reported. The unveiling was a private event at a location disclosed only to those holding $25 tickets, but once on site attendees are promised “a night of chaos, noise, and debauchery… Come dance with the Devil and experience history in the making,” WWJ added.

More from the station:

The group said the bronze Baphomet monument, which weighs about one ton and has never been seen before in public, “is not only an unparalleled artistic triumph, but stands as a testament to plurality and the power of collective action.” The statue, which backed by an inverted pentagram and flanked by statues of two young children gazing up at the creature, shows Satan with horns, hooves, wings and a beard. The group went on to say the unveiling event “will serve as a call-to-arms from which we’ll kick off our largest fight to date in the name of individual rights to free exercise against self-serving theocrats.” Minister Todd Sanders of Strictly Biblical Bible Teaching Ministries in Detroit told WWJ that Christians have no reason to fear. ‘Christian Homosexuals’ plot church’s transformationPosted: 26 Jul 2015 04:31 AM PDT

Christians considering how to respond to the Supreme Court’s creation of “same-sex marriage” face a challenge from within – those who call themselves “gay Christians” and contend the Bible does not condemn homosexual behavior. One of the most conspicuous figures in the movement is Matthew Vines, who has written a book arguing Scripture does not condemn same-sex sexual relationships. Vines has also produced a video presenting his evidence, “The Biblical Case in Support of Same-Sex Relationships,” which has accumulated 750,000 views.

Vines’ organization, The Reformation Project, explains it “exists to train Christians to support and affirm lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people.” And he recently boasted in Politico of the “embrace” he is finding at some churches. Vines believes the next step for Christian churches is determining the “kind of peace conservative Christians can make with the LGBT community” with the help of self-defined homosexual and transgender Christians. Europe to drop sanctions on Iranian terrorists and entities

Posted: 25 Jul 2015 12:43 PM PDT

Along with the Iran nuclear agreement, the European Union has agreed to remove sanctions on Iranian entities and individuals deeply involved in terrorism. Making matters significantly worse from the Israeli and European Jewish perspective is Europe’s decision to allow the Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution, or the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps as it usually called in the West, broad latitude to operate within the EU starting in 2023.

The EU delisting of IRGC military organizations and personnel is tantamount to a green light for Iran-sponsored terrorism. Likewise, the EU delisting of IRGC financial, engineering, construction, energy and transport sector entities amounts to European approval of the IRGC’s dominance in Iran’s economy, which equates to the continued repression of the Iranian people by a regime that just cashed in on temporarily deferring aspects of its nuclear program,” Ali Alfoneh, an expert on the Revolutionary Guard, and a fellow a the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, wrote. Discovery of Snake Fossil with four legs confirms Bible DepictionPosted: 25 Jul 2015 12:15 PM PDT

What’s the difference between a snake and a lizard? If you answered “legs,” you are now officially dead wrong. A snake fossil with four limbs each ending in five seemingly functional digits has been discovered, bringing with it a new theory as to how modern-day snakes evolved. The research was published today in the journal Science. The snake, aptly named Tetrapodophis amplectus, or grasping four-legged snake, was discovered in the Museum Solnhofen in Germany by paleobiologist David Martill of the University of Portsmouth, the UK, while on a field trip with students.

“The fossil was part of a larger exhibition of fossils from the Cretaceous period,” Martill said in a statement. “It was clear that no one had appreciated its importance, but when I saw it I knew it was an incredibly significant specimen.”The fossil was from Brazil and is around 110 million years old. And, although fossils of snakes have been found with legs before, the limbs in question were two useless hind legs. This is the first snake fossil discovered with four legs. MORE

Magnitude-5.1 earthquake jolts Pakistan’s capital and northwest, killing 3 peoplePosted: 25 Jul 2015 05:46 AM PDT

Authorities in Pakistan say an earthquake that jolted the country early this morning has killed three people. The U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude-5.1 quake rocked Islamabad and elsewhere in northwest Pakistan at 2 a.m. Saturday. The tremor was so strong that people came out of their homes and started reciting verses from the Quran.

Senior police officer Akhtar Hayat Khan said the roofs of three homes caved in because of the earthquake in a village on the outskirts of Abbottabad, killing three people. He said police did not receive any other reports about damage in the region. Pakistan and the Himalaya region, along an active continental plate boundary, is often hit by earthquakes. In September 2013, a magnitude-7.7 quake struck Pakistan’s Baluchistan province, killing at least 376 people. MORE

State of Kentucky Forbids Pastors Calling Homosexuality ‘Sinful’Posted: 24 Jul 2015 09:21 PM PDT

The state of Kentucky has begun imposing a religious test on volunteer pastor counselors in its youth division, insisting that they refrain from calling homosexuality “sinful” and dismissing those who cannot bend their religious faith to accommodate the state requirements. The policy was uncovered by Liberty Counsel, which has sent a letter to Bob Hayter, commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice, demanding that the state religious test be dropped and that a dismissed counselor be reinstated.

“Liberty Counsel writes regarding the blatantly unconstitutional revocation of volunteer prison minister status of ordained Christian minister David Wells, who has provided voluntary spiritual counseling and mentorship to juvenile inmates under the control of the Department of Juvenile Justice. … This revocation was issued by Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center on the basis of the April 4, 2014, DJJ Policy 912, which mandates full DJJ support of homosexuality and transvestism.

“With no evidence of any violation of DJJ policy on Mr. Wells’ part, his volunteer status was revoked by the Warren RJDC superintendent because he could not sign a state-mandated statement that homosexuality was not ‘sinful,’ among other things,” the letter said. The policy states that DJJ staff, volunteers and others “shall not imply or tell LGBTQI juveniles that they are abnormal, deviant, sinful or that they can or should change their sexual orientation or gender identity.” MORE

Spirit-Filled Pastor Miraculously Healed of Incurable CancerPosted: 24 Jul 2015 12:13 PM PDT

On April 5, 2014, Leon Freitag received a death sentence. He was diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma, an incurable cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. “The doctor told me to gather my family, because I had 12 to 18 months to live,” Freitag recounted. “According to the doctor, I had no hope of survival.” Freitag, who has served as superintendent of the North Dakota District Council of the Assemblies of God since 1999, had little time to absorb this life-changing news. He was in the midst of preparations for district council, which would begin two days later.

News of Freitag’s illness spread quickly in North Dakota, where Assemblies of God ministers and members are closely-knit like a family. What was going to happen to the soft-spoken, gentle spiritual leader who was known for his love for people and his passion for soul-winning? Would he live? Would he resign from office? Freitag responded to the news of his cancer by committing himself to live out his faith in front of the people he served. With tear-stained cheeks, he told the crowd at district council that he was believing God for a miracle. He intended to serve out the remaining year of his term, and he viewed his suffering as an object lesson for those around him. MORE

Kerry Warns Israel: Strike on Iran Would Be ‘Enormous Mistake’Posted: 24 Jul 2015 11:46 AM PDT

LESS THAN A DAY AFTER INDICATING IN A SENATE HEARING THAT THE IRAN NUCLEAR DEAL WOULD HAVE THE US DEFEND IRAN FROM ISRAEL, US SECRETARY OF STATE JOHN KERRY WARNED ISRAEL ON FRIDAY THAT A UNILATERAL STRIKE ON IRAN’S COVERT NUCLEAR PROGRAM WOULD BE A “HUGE MISTAKE.”

“And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.” Genesis 12:3

“That’d be an enormous mistake, a huge mistake with grave consequences for Israel and for the region, and I don’t think it’s necessary,” Kerry answered in an ominous answer. Just on Thursday he was asked in a Senate hearing about a clause in the deal requiring the West to train Iran to block sabotage attempts against its nuclear program.

Kerry refused to directly answer a question in the hearing as to whether the US would have to defend Iran from an Israeli cyber attack due to the deal, saying instead “I don’t see any way possible that we will be in conflict with Israel with respect to what we might want to do there, and I think we just have to wait until we get to that point.” Israeli concerns about the deal have continued to grow, particularly after it was revealed in the hearing that in classified sections of the deal the US agreed to let Iran test its own covert nuclear facilities where nuclear detonation tests have occurred. “My Last Day” — the Jesus Anime

9 powerful minutes of animation that begins with a thief behind bars watching the scourging of Jesus, and it ends with the thief dying next to Jesus, and waking to see Him in a beautiful place.

The dying thief: What was so great about his faith?

There are many acts of extraordinary faith in the Bible. The one that has impressed me the most concerns the dying thief on the cross. We could take the approach that he had nothing to lose, so he decided to cast his lot with Jesus. But this makes absolutely no sense of the text and the context.
In this conversion we have a specific fulfillment of Christ’s first words on the cross. No sooner had Christ spoken the words, “Father, forgive them,” had the Father answered that prayer by turning a once-reviling criminal into a Christ-glorifying saint. While the soon-to-be converted criminal was not directly responsible for Christ’s death, he nevertheless joined with those who were and was thus indirectly addressed when Christ asked for God to forgive “them.”
Christ, the sinless one, was numbered with or counted among the transgressors (Isa. 53:12; Luke 22:37), all of whom have a bigger problem than the day-to-day sins they commit. They hate Christ, the God-man. Anyone who has a master other than the Lord Jesus hates him (Lk. 16:13; Gal. 4:8). That these two criminals loathed him is clearly manifested during the crucifixion: “And the robbers who were crucified with him also reviled him in the same way” (Matt. 27:44).
When the criminal who was converted was doing his worst against Christ, Christ was doing his best for this criminal.
The conversion of the one criminal was most extraordinary and testifies to the power of Christ’s prayer and the grace of God. Why?
This criminal’s faith did not come at a time such as when Christ turned water into wine; or performed miracles, such as walking on water, opening the eyes of a blind man, or raising Lazarus from the dead. No! The criminal believed on the Messiah while he was hanging as one cursed upon a tree. The criminal trusted in and boldly defended the one whose disciples had abandoned him. Jesus was at his lowest when this criminal asked to be remembered in Christ’s kingdom.
When he was on the cross, did anyone publicly cry out, as John the Baptist did, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn. 1:29)? But this is essentially what the dying thief did. Little wonder, then, that Christ should promise him a place in his kingdom: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise” (Lk. 23:43).
The criminal acknowledged he was guilty; he acknowledged that Christ was not (“this man has done nothing wrong”); he feared God; but, and here is the key: the criminal did not merely want to be in a better place. He wanted to be with Christ in a better place: “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” (Lk. 23:42). The criminal believed “against all hope”.
Heaven is a better place because that is where Christ is. Everyone wants to go to heaven, but not everyone wants to go to Christ’s heaven. Not so with this criminal: he saw, with his eyes, Christ at his worst; but with the eyes of faith, he believed that Christ would soon be at his best, and so put his faith in a dying king.
Christ is always – always! – willing to save even the most miserable of sinners. A recognition of guilt (Lk. 23:40) and a confidence in him and not ourselves (Lk. 23:42) will always lead to the most assuring truth a sinner can receive: the Savior welcomes such into his paradise!
“One is saved, and we may not despair; the other is lost, and we may not presume.” Spurgeon

Taking a Minute before you Judge and Condemn

Therefore, let us take a minute before we judge and condemn. Let us listen well to our brothers. Let us evaluate our conclusions and see if we are rushing to judgment. Let us make sure we are not being legalists and condemning someone when they have not broken God’s Law. Let us not be weary of creativity. Let us not assume that merely because something is different it must be wrong. Let us sharpen and disciple one another, and let us be weary of errant and abusive discipline.

The Left Wants To End the Separation of Church and State

The push for gay marriage always included a significant portion of people who simply wanted fairness, as they saw it. But this fairness is not enough for the secular Left, which has become more honest about their ultimate goal: the eradication of religion’s place at the center of American public life. They will in the coming months and years seek to use the full power of the IRS to achieve this goal. Those who believe in civil liberty must stand against them, or risk an America where there are no churches and no charities but those the state deems fit to exist – exactly the America the Founders sought to prevent.

“The Righteous Mind” – Understanding Conservatives and Liberals

Another implication is that liberal prescriptions tend to be incredibly single-minded as compared to those of conservatives. Haidt uses the metaphor of a bee hive to illustrate. A liberal, finding a bee in the hive suffering from injustice, is motivated more or less exclusively by the desire to get justice for the bee. A conservative, being partially driven by the Care/Harm foundation, also desires to alleviate the injustice, but tries to find a solution that also contemplates the survival of the hive itself.

Southern Baptist Leader Russell Moore to Interview Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio at Evangelical Rally

According to Christian Headlines:

Russell Moore, head of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission, will interview Republican presidential candidate Jeb Bush in Nashville, Tenn., next month in front of a sold-out crowd of 13,000 evangelical pastors and leaders.

Moore will also interview Sen. Marco Rubio, a Floridian like Bush and now a GOP rival, by video during the Aug. 4 rally at the Bridgestone Arena.

But the unusual event is being seen as both a major effort by Bush to reach out to Christian conservatives — a key constituency Bush has sometimes struggled to win over — and by evangelicals to reassert their political influence during a time of landmark social change.

The True Saint Abhors All Sin

Sometimes I just need to be reminded about the seriousness of sin. And sometimes I just need to be reminded off the slipperiness of sin. Those reminders came this week through Charles Spurgeon and a sermon he preached on June 29, 1890.

Many men are violent against one sin; but the true saint abhors all sin. You are a teetotaler; I am very glad to hear it: you will not allow the sin of drunkenness to have dominion over you. But are you selfish and ungenerous? Have you learned habits of strict economy in regard to religious donations, so that you always give a penny where you ought to give a pound? What have you done? You have only changed your idols. You have dethroned one usurper to set up another.

If you were once profane and are now hypocritical, you have only changed iniquities. It is a very curious thing how one sin feeds on another: the death of profligacy may be the resurrection of greed; the flight of pride may be the advent of shameless folly. The man who was lewd, riotous, brawling and irreligious has killed those sins, and on their graves he has sown a handful of a poisonous weed called pride, and it flourishes amazingly.

It may be London pride, country pride, or English pride, or American pride; but it is rare stuff to grow, and to grow over the rotting carcasses of other sins. Unbelief may dethrone superstition, but its own reign may be no real improvement upon that of credulity [gullibility].

If you only throw down Baal to set up Ashteroth, what progress have you made towards God? Little does it signify [matter] which of the false gods is set up in the temple of Jehovah, for he hates them all. The right prayer is, “Let not any iniquity have dominion over me.”

Some sins are of respectable repute and other sins are disreputable among men; but to a child of God every sin is loathsome. Sins are all what Bunyan calls Diabolonians and not one of them must be suffered to live in the town of ManSoul. “Let not any iniquity have dominion over me.” I can see the throne set up within the heart of man. Who shall sit on it? It cannot be empty; who shall fill it? This sin, that sin, or the other? Nay, Lord, help me to keep every intruder out of it.

Whether he come as an angel of light, or in his true character as the devil, help me to treat every one as an enemy that would seek to supplant thee in thy dominion over me. Oh, that God may reign over us from morn to eve, through every day of every week of every year!

Standing Fast for Faith, Family and Freedom

As I have documented now in hundreds of articles and various books, the things we hold most near and dear are under ferocious attack. Christianity, marriage and family, and liberty are all being threatened big time. And one of the greatest threats is coming from the militant homosexual lobby.

They are relentless in their attempts to squash all three. Although small in number, they make up for it in loudness of voice, a compliant media, coercion, and a tireless commitment to win at all costs. Thus in their attempts to ram homosexual “marriage” down the throats of everyone else, they simply keep bashing away.

Um No, Adultery is Not Liberating

This is now my third article on that wretched and perverse cheating website known as Ashley Madison. You know the one I am talking about – these are the guys whose motto comes out of the very pits of hell: “Life is short. Have an affair.”

It is not my intention to keep bringing up this sleazeball outfit which has so much to answer for. But there is a reason for yet another article on all this. My first piece of five years ago discussed the American’s outfit move into Australia, and why that was such bad news: http://billmuehlenberg.com/2010/04/12/getting-rich-from-busting-up-marriages/

affair 5My piece of two days ago spoke of a hacker attack, where millions of “secret” affairs were threatened with public exposure. As I said, talk about a betrayal of trust on top of a betrayal of trust. Sort of serves them right: http://billmuehlenberg.com/2015/07/23/ashley-madison-your-sin-will-find-you-out/

The head of this outfit of course must perpetuate lies and deception to even try to get away with all this. For example, he claims that this is an acceptable and non-harmful thing to do, so just go for it. But that is pure baloney. As I wrote in my first article on Ashley Madison:

He says, “Having sex with a like-minded person is better than starting a relationship with a friend or someone in the workplace, or going on to singles sites or bars to meet people. No one has to get hurt this way.”
No one? Sorry Jack, but I am not buying this baloney. Cheating always hurts people. It hurts the one doing it, it hurts the one being cheated on, it hurts any children involved, and it hurts all of society. This clown is simply getting rich off the destruction of other people’s marriages.
And he is a stinking hypocrite to boot. He says that he is “a happily married man” with two children, and that his wife only reluctantly agreed to this business. So whether he is cheating or not, he is quite happy to encourage other couples to cheat.
Incredibly, he claims that “Cheaters still love their partners”. Sorry bub, but I am not buying that one either. Love is more than an emotion. It is a commitment to another person, willing them the highest good. That can never be achieved by breaking trust with them and cheating on them.
If you really love your spouse, you will not cheat on him or her. It is that simple. Cheating is a clear indication of lack of love. If a football player cheated, helping another team to win by throwing the game, could he still claim that he loves his team? I don’t think so.
This whole business is one ugly grubby attempt to make money off the misery of others.

And that is always going to be the reality. Adultery, cheating, affairs, etc., are always harmful, always hurtful, always damaging, and always exploitative. They are marriage busters pure and simple. There is no such thing as a victimless affair – everyone suffers, big time.

While more Christians should be getting into the act here condemning this great evil, it took a secular newspaper to do our job for us. I refer to a powerful article in the Daily Mail which spilled the beans on the hellishness of affairs. What a terrific service it has just performed by printing excerpts from stories by some of the many victims of affairs.

Here is part of what this much-needed article had to say:

The Daily Mail is reporting that many marriages and relationships have been permanently damaged by people using the website, which 1.2 million Britons have signed up to.
‘Horrendous’
Sarah, 34, from Surrey, was happily married for ten years and had a six-year-old son, James. But in January 2013, she discovered that her husband Rich had been having an affair for two years, arranged via the website. “I was shaking from head to foot. I felt physically sick. I didn’t know whether to cry, laugh or scream. It was horrendous.
‘Heart-broken’
“My stomach was in knots. I felt so angry and confused and utterly heart-broken, all at the same time”, she said. The couple divorced eight months later. Jackie, 50, from North Wales, also caught her husband Peter using the site.
‘Sickened’
“I had my suspicions he was cheating and thought I’d set up my own account on a few of these sites so I could have a look”, she said. “I was sickened to see his face pop up.”

Men whose wives and girlfriends have started affairs through the website have also spoken out.
‘Marriage ruined’
“This site destroyed my marriage of 20 years”, said Bob, 47. “It ruined my marriage and my self-esteem. It was awful.”

Jo Welch, from the support group ‘Women Scorned’, said that the number of messages they have received from people whose marriages have been wrecked because of spouses using this type of website has soared in recent years.
‘Suffering’
“It may have started in the U.S. but it’s a trend that is growing frighteningly quickly in Britain”, she said. “Websites like this are disgraceful. They break up families, causing so much pain and suffering — and we have to deal with the children and wives and husbands whose lives are destroyed at the click of a button”.
Harry Benson, Research Director at the Marriage Foundation, says such sites are “thoroughly unpleasant and misleading”.
‘Misery’
“They actively encourage people to look for an affair by making that option available”, he added. He said that to “facilitate” affairs is “trying to profit from unhappiness and turn it into misery”.
“To pretend that adultery is a good thing in an otherwise long-lasting, loyal relationship is utter nonsense.”
[Names reported in the Daily Mail were changed for legal reasons.]

Marriage is of course the most sacred trust and the most intimate and committed of relationships. To break this sacred covenant and run off looking for fresh meat is the height of unfaithfulness, treachery, perversion and unreliability. How many of these people pledged their allegiance and faithfulness to their spouse at some point in a public ceremony?

There is only one thing worse than this diabolical betrayal of trust. And that is those sick moral monsters who are getting rich by ruining the marriages and lives of others. Sin will always exist in this fallen world, but when it is egged on for profit, that is the height of evil.

As Jesus put it in Luke 17:1-3, “Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. So watch yourselves.”

Whose job is protecting the flock?
Jul 20, 2015 08:36 am | A. S.

There are a lot of trends impacting the visible church these days, from right and left wing dominionism to the name-it-and-claim-it prosperity “gospel,” and the social justice “gospel,” which are really not the Gospel at all.  Today we’re asking the Church: Whose job is it to protect the flock from these things? Does that role […]

There are NOT two Babylons but there are two harlots

In this final program on why Babylon, 60 miles south of Baghdad, will be the world headquarters for the coming Religious Reich. Brannon explains why there are two harlots in Revelation 17. Listen as he explains that the great harlot that sits on many waters in Revelation 17:1 is not Babylon as most Bible scholars and experts teach, but instead is a one-world, ecumenical religious system. The woman that rides the beast in Revelation 17:3-6 is not the great harlot yet but the city of Babylon. Only after the destruction of the ecumenical great harlot in Revelation 17:15, that was introduced in Revelation 17:1, does Babylon become the great harlot as described in Revelation 19:2.Thus there are two harlots. Without this understanding Revelation 17, 18 and 19 cannot be taught with a consistent hermeneutics. In fact, without the teaching of two harlots, many are incorrectly teaching Revelation 17 & 18. Brannon asked numerous prophecy experts and Bible scholars if they were aware that there are two harlots in Revelation 17 and they were not. Yet after explaining his discovery, they were in agreement that this was a crucial discovery in understanding Revelation 17, 18, and 19 in a proper and consistent context. Topic: Why does it matter? Revelation is the only book that promises a blessing to those that read it and seek to understand it and obey its instructions as described in Revelation 1:3. It matters to God. Topic: We take your calls. Listen to this episode of Worldview Weekend Radio with Brannon Howse by click here:

Encounter God’s Truth with Dr. John Whitcomb:
Guest speaker Ken Ham continues his message on “The Seven C’s of History” this week on “Encounter God’s Truth.” This is a series of seven key words each starting with the letter  C that give us a basis for understanding the major events of history, taking us from the original  Creation to the final “Consummation” of God’s plan at the return of Christ. That is consistent with the message that you hear us proclaim every week that God’s Word is true from the beginning to the end. Ken Ham is the president of Answers in Genesis, the Creation Museum and the Ark Encounter. We appreciate the generosity of Calvary Baptist Church in Watertown, Wisconsin, where Ken first presented this teaching, for allowing us to broadcast it. Wayne Shepherd, our host, then introduces our Bible teacher, Dr. John Whitcomb, who offers words of Scriptural clarity and hope for these desperate days. Thank you for listening to “Encounter God’s Truth” from Whitcomb Ministries!

Women with the Master with Susan Heck:
Are You Grieving the Spirit or Walking in the Spirit? My dear sister, are you breaking one of God’s commands by grieving the Spirit of God who dwells in you? Have you made Him sad by holding bitterness in your heart towards someone? Do you find yourself throwing fits of rage, speaking evil words while screaming and yelling at your kids or your husband? Have you wanted to murder someone, even if it was only in your thoughts? These are evil things that make the Spirit sorrowful. In our lesson from Ephesians 4:30-32, we are going to look at: The command to not grieve the Spirit, The sins that grieve the Spirit, and The signs of walking in the Spirit.

Steel on Steel with John Loeffler:
When the media and the politically correct elites give you their version of events, they want you to drink the semantic cyanide-laced Kool-Aid. In this week’s boralogue, John looks at micro-aggressions, the Confederate flagless General Lee car on the Dukes of Hazard, and Islamic terrorists who have nothing to do with Islam. The semantic cyanide Kool-Aid reveals itself in forcing everyone to think the same way and in the ridiculous contradiction that to promote tolerance you have to be intolerant toward those who disagree with you. Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair recently became chairman of the European Council on Tolerance and Reconciliation, a group that looks to monitor speech and behavior to promote a climate of tolerance. Samuel Westrop (www.gatestoneinstitute.org), Senior Fellow at the Gatestone Institute, joins us to discuss the group’s intolerant behavior toward those who dissent and how its mission statement favors censorship over freedom of expression. We transition from Europe to Latin America where the Pope finished a trip this week that included a speech on economics, a topic he admits to know very little about. Director of Research at the Acton Institute, Samuel Gregg (www.acton.org), examines the pontiffs comments against capitalism, shows how free market economies have historically been the most successful, and asks the question, If not capitalism, then what? Hint: no one has an answer. Christians are being persecuted around the world at an alarming rate. Juliana Taimoorazy (www.iraqichristianrelief.org), Founder and President of the Iraqi Christian Relief Council, exposes the long wait time for many displaced Christians to receive refugee status and recounts her organizations efforts to help those persecuted refugees by providing food, shelter, and education.

Crosstalk
Colin Gunn is an award winning writer, director, producer and an accomplished animator. His is a home school father of 7 children who produced a documentary field trip of a lifetime. Colin and his family travel across America in an old yellow school bus exploring the origins and social impact of public school education. Some people believe that the infiltration of ungodly philosophies in American education began with President Obama while others believe it began in the 1950’s or 1960’s. Colin, however, believes it began to occur already back in the 1800’s when there were individuals like Robert Owen and Horace Mann who desired a new type of utopian society. These individuals believed that man could be perfected through education and the result is that now we have this massive compulsory education system that is failing.

How to Make a Pro-Life Argument in Two Minutes or Less, Scott Klusendorf. This is a very helpful primer for those who want to defend their pro-life stance without appeal to Scripture. Arguments like this will be increasingly important in our society, since, “The Bible tells me so” doesn’t carry the same weight it once did. Plus, thinking through how to articulate biblical claims without direct appeal to Scripture is always a fruitful (albeit challenging) endeavor.

But the seven statements Edmondson lists here are a convenient way to translate leadership theory into leadership practice. Most leaders want to be encouraging, empowering, and challenging. These words give a tangible way of achieving that.

How Pixar Enchants Us and Moves Us, Michael Cavna, Washington Post. You an be pessimistic about Hollywood these days, but you’ve got to admit that Pixar shines as a creative beacon in the midst of banality. How do they keep doing it? Their secret is that they’re always trying to tell the truth. So regardless of the fantastic elements of the plot, the audience enters into Pixar’s world, feeling the story right along with them. It’s a beautiful thing.

Want to Get Stuff Done? Focus on Your FlowAndrea Ayres. Any article that paints e-mail as a villain is a friend of mine. But Ayres does more than just point out how distracting and counter-productive e-mail is. She shares about the secret sauce of productivity—the wonderful little zone known as “flow.”

After Domestic Violence, Who Should You Call First? Pastor or Police Officer? Justin Holcomb. The statistics about domestic violence suggest that it is not some fringe problem for particularly troubled couples; it’s an epidemic in the United States. But people in ministry are often ill-equipped to address it. One of the many thorny areas is the overlap between pastoral care and legal involvement. As a general rule, pastors are too reluctant and too slow to draw in law enforcement. Holcomb’s wisdom is much needed: yes, you should call the cops.

5 Things to Look for in a Church

First, that it be a church. The Reformers argued that there are three distinguishing marks of the church—the Word, sacraments, and discipline. That means your campus ministry isn’t the church; your podcasts are not the church; your family sitting around the table is not the church. But it also means that those institutions claiming to be the church that lack these things are not the church. If a church refuses to exercise discipline, excommunicating the unrepentant of gross and heinous sins, it’s not a church.

Second, that it be a body marked by repentance. If the marks of the church define its structure, repentance defines its heart. We are a people in need of God’s grace in Christ. We are not those who successfully found our way to God, but rather, those whom He has rescued, those He continues to rescue. If sin is seen as something behind us, not a continuing struggle, we’re missing it. A local church should be a group of men, women, and children acutely aware of their failures and weaknesses.

Third, that it be a body marked by joy. Given the above, the joy we speak of is the joy of our redemption, adoption, and the surety of the promises of God. Our joy isn’t in how good we’ve become, but in our being fully forgiven, how infinitely and immutably we are loved. While there is certainly a place in the church for careful theological parsing, that parsing should never be a mere intellectual exercise. Instead it should be the font of our joy. Zeal without knowledge is dangerous indeed. But knowledge without zeal is a sure sign that pride is gumming up the works.

Fourth, that it be a body with a passion for those yet outside the kingdom. Too often when we are rescued, when the gates of paradise open for us, we are content to close the door. The world is seen merely as either danger or wood, hay and stubble. Such once, however, were we. Insofar as we remember our rescue we ought be eager to see others rescued. If we aren’t telling other beggars where to find food, we show that we think ourselves the master of the feast rather than undeserving guests. This doesn’t mean, of course, that we design our worship services for those outside. Worship could rightly be understood as the family meal, where He feeds His children.

Finally, that it be a body. Too many churches resemble more a movie theater than a family meal. We’re together, and are having something of the same experience, but we aren’t truly together. Our eyes, our attention is fixed up front, and those around us do the same. A family meal, however, is something we all do together. We engage one another, indeed we delight in one another. This doesn’t mean, of course, that the first time you visit a given church you will feel immediately at home. But you should feel welcome, and you should be able to see the body sharing life together.

If you find this list disheartening, if you feel there is no such body near you, get to work. A good church is less something you find, more something you build. The work of the ministry, the call of the elders, is to equip the saints to do the work of the ministry. It’s not meant to be all on their shoulders.

Fighting Fear When Violence Strikes Close to Home

Angela Price:

I was going to a play date for the first time at my Muslim friend’s house. I’ve never felt afraid before, but today was different. What if I was wrong about her intentions?

It had been nearly one week after the horrible shooting in Chattanooga. Many here are asking the typical questions. Why did this happen? How could this happen? But those aren’t exactly the right questions when we remember our world is deeply fallen, captive to sin and death. This is a temporary place. Sin abounds and it’s only the grace of God that holds it back in each of us.

Who is capable of being a murderer? Any of us. We are all born with a sin nature. We all need a Savior to rescue us from that. We all need hope. We all need the gospel.

The Coming of the Age of Gibberish

Carl Trueman:

Every now and then I read something which seems to capture the spirit of the age. A friend recently forwarded me one such item, calling for the government to provide free menstrual pads and tampons to women. So far, so Old Left. I disagree with the conclusion but I do understand the argument. It is set forth with a logic that is clear and comprehensible. The author and I may differ in our politics but we speak the same language.

It was not, however, the main article which caught my eye. Rather it was the editor’s note at the start.

What If I Preach a Bad Sermon?

Brian Croft:

Every preacher has preached a bad sermon. If you think you haven’t, then you probably have preached a bunch of bad sermons. It will happen to all of us. Sometimes it won’t just be bad, but a disaster! When a sermon doesn’t go well, most of us get very discouraged and if the despair is great enough, it might cause us to question whether we should continue to preach at all. I bet no one can top the disaster of John Newton’s first sermon as he described it to a friend in a letter he wrote the next day.

07/25/15 Because You Prayed

READING: Isaiah 37-39: Psalm 76

TEXTS AND APPLICATION: Do you believe that prayer makes a difference? Isaiah 37-39 are filled with evidence that prayer matters.

First, King Hezekiah sent messengers to ask Isaiah to pray for the nation when they heard the Assyrians were coming. Hezekiah grieved in distress and sought God through the prophet. God heard the prayers, and He sent word that the king of Assyria would die by the sword (Isa. 37:7).

Isa. 37:3-4  They said to him [Isaiah], “This is what Hezekiah says: ‘Today is a day of distress, rebuke, and disgrace, for children have come to the point of birth, and there is no strength to deliver them. . . . Therefore offer a prayer for the surviving remnant.’”

Second, Hezekiah prayed to the Lord, and God assured him that the Assyrians would not win.

Isa. 37:14-15, 21-22  Then Hezekiah prayed to the Lord . . . . Then Isaiah son of Amoz sent a message to Hezekiah: “The Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Because you prayed to Me about Sennacherib king of Assyria, this is the word the Lord has spoken against him . . . ‘“

Third, Hezekiah prayed when he became ill (even to the point of near death), and God gave him additional life.

Isa. 38:2-4  Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord. . . . Then the word of the Lord came to Isaiah: “Go and tell Hezekiah that this is what the Lord God of your ancestor David says: I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Look, I am going to add 15 years to your life.”

Here’s what we learn from these texts: prayer to the true God really does make a difference. Hezekiah prayed about the enemy, and God spoke a word against the Assyrian king because Hezekiah had prayed. The Lord gave Hezekiah 15 more years because the king prayed. God heard his prayers — He is SO different from the false gods who had ears but could not hear.

PRAYER: The God to whom Isaiah and Hezekiah prayed is the same God to whom we pray. He is the eternal Creator, the only true God.  He hears. He responds. He works miracles. How can we not speak to Him? Pray today, and then pray some more. It matters.

When Shemitah, Blood Moons and the Messiah Meet

Apologetics and the progress of science Apologetics and the progress of science

Previously, I blogged about a few of the minimum requirements that a planet must satisfy in order to support complex life.

Here they are:

  • a solar system with a single massive Sun than can serve as a long-lived, stable source of energy
  • a terrestrial planet (non-gaseous)
  • the planet must be the right distance from the sun in order to preserve liquid water at the surface – if it’s too close, the water is burnt off in a runaway greenhouse effect, if it’s too far, the water is permanently frozen in a runaway glaciation
  • the planet has to be far enough from the star to avoid tidal locking and solar flares
  • the solar system must be placed at the right place in the galaxy – not too near dangerous radiation, but close enough to other stars to be able to absorb heavy elements after…

Hillsong Conference speakers supporting pagan Roman Catholicism

The scriptures say,

“[…] and remember all the commandments of the LORD, to do them, not to follow after your own heart and your own eyes, which you are inclined to whore after. So you shall remember and do all my commandments, and be holy to your God. I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt to be your God: I am the LORD your God.” Numbers 15:39-41 (Emphasis ours)

07Flag_RCCHillsong is a classic example of what idolatrous Israel looked like in the Old Testament. In similar fashion, Hillsong are following after their own hearts and their own eyes, which they have inclined to “whore after”. The result of this never ends well.

In departing from the Word of God, they are prone to wonder into paganism, which sadly, this article will examine. Which pagan religion is Hillsong whoring after? The answer is the pagan religion…

Yonggi Cho indoctrinating CGI board and Christians at Asia Conference with paganism

A website called ‘David Cho Evangelistic Mission’ reports on Asia Conference that was hosted by Kong Hee of City Harvest Church. The report states that “The 2nd Asia Conference and the 24th Church Growth International (CGI) Conference were held as a combined conference for five days at Singapore Expo Halls, from May 26-30.”

This article also reports on the fact that David Yonggi Cho is still indoctrinating the CGI board with his pagan teachings on the ‘Fourth Dimension’ (which we are still examining on this site).

These are the people who are on the CGI Board of Directors who would have attended the event. The people on this pastafia are heavily influential in spreading anti-Christian teachings and methods around the world. Important and very influential women in this list include popular frauds as C. Peter Wagner, Andrew Evans, Robert Schuller, Kong Hee, Phil Pringle, Jack Hayford, Richard Bernal, Marilyn Hickey, Ulf Ekman, Benny Hinn…

Will Creflo use his billion dollar gimmick to get his $65 million dollar jet?

The Christian Post earlier reported,

“After coming under heavy criticism for asking the public for $65 million dollars to purchase a luxury airplane for his ministry last month, popular televangelist and founder of World Changers Church International Creflo Dollar responded in spectacular defiance in a recent message to his church declaring: “If I want to believe God for a $65 million plane, you cannot stop me.”

Source: By Leonardo Blair, Christian Post, Creflo Dollar Slams Critics: ‘If I Want to Believe God for a $65 Million Plane, You Cannot Stop Me’, http://www.christianpost.com/news/creflo-dollar-slams-critics-if-i-want-to-believe-god-for-a-65-million-plane-you-cannot-stop-me-138010/, 22/04/2015. (Accessed 22/07/2015.)

Unless Christians actually stand up against this financial fraudster, Creflo will pull of this financial scam on his members, using evangelism as the means to get what he wants.

The media have also noticed Creflo Dollar’s new money making gimmick and have connected this gimmick to possibly getting his new million dollar jet.

The Christian Post reports,

GodLife: The Pressure to Have Sex and Be Attractive

Scripture:

“Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.” I Peter 3:3-4 (NLT)

From a young age, what were you taught to “be?” In many cultures, girls are taught how to be pleasing to men. This can cause a girl to stop focusing on God and get consumed with trying to catch a man’s attention through looks, actions and even sex.

How do you handle the pressure?
