TOP RIGHT HOOKS
After more than a year of waiting, Barack Obama this week unveiled the final iteration of the Clean Power Plan, the EPA’s biggest environmental regulation issued to date. According to EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy, the estimated annual cost by 2030 will be $8.4 billion. But as with all government estimates, that number largely omits a comprehensive examination of the economic toll. When it comes to Obama’s agenda, we’re usually talking figures in the trillions of dollars, and this particular regulation is no different. A Heritage Foundation study published last month found that, by 2030, the Clean Power Plan will result in “[a] loss of more than $2.5 trillion (inflation-adjusted) in aggregate gross domestic product (GDP).” On the one hand, you have McCarthy advertising $8.4 billion in annual costs — a relatively minor expense all things considered — while on the other hand, an independent study puts that figure at $2.5 trillion over the next 15 years. The disparity is huge, and it can’t be blamed on a rounding error. Nor is it right-wing think-tank conspiracy. Take ObamaCare, for instance. What was originally calculated by the Congressional Budget Office to cost American taxpayers less than $1 trillion over a decade ballooned to more than $2 trillion, according to new CBO figures. You’ll discover a familiar trend with any government program. That’s why the most important thing Republicans can do is put a stop to the Clean Power Plan before it truly gets started.
The clock is winding down until Congress will vote in September to either approve or reject the nuclear deal the Obama administration struck with Iran. But despite nearly everyone in Washington taking vacation a month before the vote, the horse race must go on, and the speculation on how each lawmaker will vote is running rampant. House Republicans say they have enough votes to defeat the deal. Meanwhile, the Senate may be a handful of votes away from having a veto-proof consensus against the deal. The decision may come down to the heir to Democrat Senate leadership and supporter of Israel Chuck Schumer. As for Barack Obama, he’s confident that his foreign policy legacy is in the bag — at least for now. He will read a speech from a teleprompter at American University later today advocating the deal — echoing a speech John F. Kennedy made in 1963 — and then jet off to Martha’s Vineyard for a two-week vacation. In doing so, Obama is overestimating his oratorical chops and underestimating the opposition to the deal. Obama wants everyone to believe that if Congress rejects the deal war will come — illustrated by the fact that those who supported the Iraq war want this “peace” deal squashed. But Obama sits thousands of miles away from the situation. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran would return to the negotiation table if this deal is rejected “because they need this deal.”
The Nation of Islam was founded in 1930, and is now a wealthy and well-known black organization. But just how far out in left field is the group? They’re drunk and in the bleachers. Even the leftist Southern Poverty Law Center, which specializes in identifying so-called hate groups — most of which just happen to be conservative, or at least neo-Nazi so they can pin it on conservatives — lists the Nation of Islam as a hate group. SPLC says, “[I]ts bizarre theology of innate black superiority over whites — a belief system vehemently and consistently rejected by mainstream Muslims — and the deeply racist, anti-Semitic and anti-gay rhetoric of its leaders, including top minister Louis Farrakhan, have earned the NOI a prominent position in the ranks of organized hate.”
In the latest quote for the file, Farrakhan recently told a crowd at Miami’s Mt. Zion Baptist Church, “I’m looking for 10,000 in the midst of a million. Ten thousand fearless men who say death is sweeter than continued life under tyranny. Death is sweeter than continuing to live and bury our children while the white folks give our killers hamburgers. Death is sweeter than watching us slaughter each other to the joy of a 400-year-old enemy. Death is sweeter. The Quran teaches persecution is worse than slaughter. Then it says retaliation is prescribed in matters of the slain. Retaliation is a prescription from God to calm the breasts of those whose children have been slain. So if the federal government won’t intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us; stalk them and kill them and let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling!”
He’s talking about the deaths of a few black men at the hands of white police officers. And it sure sounds like he’s inciting violence. Will the Justice Department of Barack Obama, himself a disciple of hate, look into this?
FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS
By Nate Jackson
While Planned Parenthood’s $500 million in annual taxpayer funding survived a Senate vote Monday, there was a silver lining. In 2007, eight Republicans supported funding PP; Monday, just one did — Sen. Mark Kirk of Illinois. And there are still seven unreleased videos from the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) to turn up the political pressure. The fifth one dropped Tuesday.
On Monday, U.S. District Judge William Orrick, who raised $230,000 for Barack Obama, extended a temporary restraining order against the release of some video material until the end of the month. National Abortion Federation and its members claim they will suffer harassment and possibly violence due to their part in the videos, and a hearing will take place Aug. 27 on a possible permanent injunction.
According to The Hill, “A lawyer representing The Center for Medical Progress said it would abide by Orrick’s order, noting the materials barred from release in the ruling represented ‘a small percentage’ of its overall collection.” The delay also happens to ensure the videos stay in the news even longer.
In related news, federal Judge B. Lynn Winmill threw out an Idaho law prohibiting undercover video of agricultural facilities by animal-rights activists on the grounds that “food and worker safety are matters of public concern.” Is that any less true of the hundreds of thousands of babies aborted each year by an organization hauling in half a billion in taxpayer dollars?
And, so, the fifth video (GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING).
It begins with PP President Cecile Richards insisting, “Planned Parenthood makes zero profit on any fetal tissue donations.”
But Melissa Farrell, director of research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, explains that harvesting provides a good “revenue stream” for PP, which “contributes so much to our bottom line.” She notes, “If we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, we can make it part of the budget that any dissections are ‘this,’ and splitting the specimens into different shipments is ‘this.’ It’s all just a matter of line items.”
In fact, she admitted, “[W]e deviate from our standard in order to” obtain intact specimens. Furthermore, “Some of our doctors in the past have projects and they’re collecting the specimens, so they do it in a way that they get the best specimens, so I know it can happen.”
Doesn’t sound like mere expense reimbursement, does it?
According to CMP, “The sale or purchase of human fetal tissue is a federal felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison or a fine of up to $500,000 (42 U.S.C. 289g-2). Federal law also requires that no alteration in the timing or method of abortion be done for the purposes of fetal tissue collection (42 U.S.C. 289g-1).”
It certainly seems clear from the video evidence that Planned Parenthood and other companies are engaged in illegal harvesting. Democrats in Congress will continue to look the other way and insist this is all about “women’s health,” but the truth is plain to see.
Finally, the video turns to the lab, where the undercover reporters ask for “fresh specimens” to determine their quality. A lab worker laughs, and says, “We had a really long day, and they’re all mixed up together in a bag.” She does manage to produce one of a set of 20-week-old twins (pulled from the freezer), and the technicians sort through lungs, intestines and limbs, while talking about how “organs come out really, really well — almost intact.”
If you aren’t appalled, you aren’t paying attention.
Project Lead David Daleiden elaborates on the significance: “This is now the fifth member of Planned Parenthood leadership discussing payments for aborted baby parts without any connection to actual costs of so-called tissue ‘donation.’ Planned Parenthood’s system-wide conspiracy to evade the law and make money off of aborted fetal tissue is now undeniable.” Daleiden continues, “Anyone who watches these videos knows that Planned Parenthood is engaged in barbaric practices and human rights abuses that must end. There is no reason for an organization that uses illegal abortion methods to sell baby parts and commit such atrocities against humanity to still receive over $500 million each year from taxpayers.”
Indeed, the videos reveal the banality of evil in a visceral way that the Left’s euphemisms deliberately attempt to obscure. It’s obvious that the Planned Parenthood workers know they’re dealing with something that’s at a minimum uncomfortable, because each videoed subject is at great pains to choose words carefully. And yet the technicians are calloused souls, who can laugh about body parts in a bag. There are seven more videos to go, and, if the pattern holds, they might be even worse.

OPINION IN BRIEF
Walter Williams: “The uninformed assumption made by judges, lawyers and academics is that but for the fact of racial and sex discrimination, we all would be distributed across occupations, educational backgrounds and other socio-economic characteristics according to our percentages in the population. Such a vision is absolute nonsense. … According to a recent study conducted by Bond University in Australia, sharks are nine times likelier to attack and kill men than they are women. Such a disproportionality leads to only one conclusion: Sharks are sexist. Another disturbing sex disparity is that despite the fact that men are 50 percent of the population and so are women, men are struck by lightning six times as often as women. Of those killed by lightning, 82 percent are men. I wonder what whoever is in charge of lightning has against men. Differences are seen by many as signs of inequality. Nobel laureate Milton Friedman put it best: ‘A society that puts equality before freedom will get neither. A society that puts freedom before equality will get a high degree of both.’ Equality in conjunction with the general rules of law is the only kind of equality conducive to liberty that can be secured without destroying liberty.”
Insight: “Most Americans aren’t the sort of citizens the Founding Fathers expected; they are contented serfs. Far from being active critics of government, they assume that its might makes it right.” —columnist Joseph Sobran (1946-2010)
Desperate to reframe the debate: “It’s a war on women’s health, it’s not about abortion. Planned Parenthood spends 97% of its dollars on non-abortion related services. … They serve 2.7 million people in America every year, 500,000 of those happen to be Hispanic. It is a very important health care organization, and this attack started from the day Planned Parenthood was founded in 1916, when the founder of Planned Parenthood was arrested for trying to distribute birth control to poor women. So it’s a constant battle here. I can’t believe in this century we are still battling against women’s health.” —Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA) (Planned Parenthood’s founder, Margaret Sanger, was a eugenicist — hardly someone to look up to.)
Alpha Jackass: “It’s our responsibility in the Senate to assure that American women have access to care. It’s our obligation to protect our wives, our sisters, our daughters, our granddaughters — protect them from the absurd policies of a Republican Party that’s lost its moral compass.” —Harry Reid on the GOP effort to defund Planned Parenthood
Demo-gogues: “I will defend Planned Parenthood. I think a lot of this attack, to be honest with you, comes from people who simply do not believe that a woman should have a right to control her own body. That’s the motive.” —Bernie Sanders, who added, “I have not seen the videos.” (The videos don’t exactly show a “woman’s body” being dissected in a petri dish and sold for spare parts, do they?)
And last… “Joe Biden was reported Friday seriously considering entering the race for the Democratic Party nomination for president. He doesn’t really need the job. After his term of office as vice president is over Joe Biden has a standing offer in Hollywood to play the villain in all the pepper spray commercials.” —Argus Hamilton

Planned Parenthood official: Abortion procedures, prices altered to meet demand
A fifth video has surfaced. Fox News has the report:
A Planned Parenthood executive admits in an undercover video that her doctors alter abortion procedures and she manipulates prices to accommodate specific fetal tissue harvesting requests — including delivering fully intact fetuses — though doing so may violate federal law.
In the nearly 16-minute, edited video, the fifth released by Center for Medical Progress, a woman identified as Melissa Farrell, director of research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, discusses pricing for specimens — ranging from intact fetuses to tissue and organs — for outside tissue procurement companies.
“Yeah, and so if we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, then we can make it part of the budget, that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this,” Farrell said. “I mean it’s all just a matter of line items.”
Japan heat wave intensifies – death toll surges to 55
Posted: 05 Aug 2015 07:53 AM PDT
The toll from Japan’s ongoing heat wave accelerated last week, boosting the year’s tally to 55 heat-related deaths and sending more than 11,000 to the hospital according to new government figures released Tuesday. According to Japan’s Fire and Disaster Management Agency, 25 people died from heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses nationwide during the week of July 27 through Aug. 2. It was by far the deadliest week so far this year in Japan, nearly equaling the death toll of 30 in the preceding three months combined.
The number of people sent to hospitals for heat-related illnesses also skyrocketed, reaching 11,637 when excluding the 25 deaths. This was more than double the figure for the same period in 2014. Since April 27, more than 35,000 people have been hospitalized due to hot weather in Japan. Of those, 855 have required at least three weeks of hospitalization due to the severity of their illness. The heat has spared no region of the country. Heat-related deaths have been reported in 29 of Japan’s 47 prefectures, and each of the 47 prefectures has reported at least 100 heat-related illnesses. And has had rodents running across his presidential podium while addressing reporters. His face has even been compared to the character of Satan the devil in “The Bible” TV miniseries.
And now, a mysterious flash during Barack Obama’s visit to his ancestral homeland of Kenya last month has some people wondering once again about the president’s ties to strange phenomena. The latest case involves video of Obama’s arrival July 24 in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi, posted by Kenya CitizenTV. As the president smiles and shakes hands with those greeting him at the airport after he descends from Air Force One, a strange image races across the screen from right to left, seemingly directly in front of Obama. |Monster Typhoon takes aim at Taiwan
Posted: 05 Aug 2015 07:12 AM PDT
Food, water, cots, generators and other federal emergency supplies were rushed Tuesday from Hawaii and Guam to help Saipan after Typhoon Soudelor blasted through the tiny U.S. island in the Western Pacific.
After hitting the island, the typhoon strengthened into the Earth’s most powerful storm of 2015 — equivalent to a Category 5 hurricane, with sustained winds of 180 mph — as it continued Monday across the Pacific Ocean. By Tuesday evening Soudelor was downgraded from a super typhoon with winds around 130 mph, and gusts of 161 mph — equal to a Category 4 storm, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center said. MORE

|FBI: Middle Eastern Men Intimidating Military Families In Colorado & Wyoming
Posted: 05 Aug 2015 07:05 AM PDT
An alert has been issued by the FBI to all law enforcement agencies in Colorado and Wyoming involving U.S. military families and concerns about who may be watching them. The alert says Middle Eastern men are approaching families of U.S. military members at their homes in Colorado and Wyoming.
It mentions Greeley and Cheyenne, Wyoming as the specific areas. In one case last May the wife of a military member was approached in front of her home by two Middle Eastern males. The men stated that she was the wife of a U.S. interrogator. When she denied their claims the men laughed. The two men left the area in a dark-colored, four-door sedan with two other Middle Eastern males in the vehicle. MORE

|Sydney Experiences Coldest spell in 26 years
Posted: 05 Aug 2015 06:48 AM PDT
Sydney notched its longest cold spell in 26 years and NSW had its frostiest July since 1997 after a series of strong cold fronts dragged unusually cool air over south-eastern Australia, the Bureau of Meteorology said. The city’s run of 11 consecutive nights with temperatures dipping below 8 degrees was Sydney’s longest such run since 1989, the bureau said in its monthly report.
For both mean and minimum temperatures, it was also the coolest July for the city since 2002. For NSW overall, the most significant snow event since at least October 2012 – which occurred in mid-July – helped lower mean temperatures to 0.2 degrees below average for the month – enough to make it the state’s coolest July in 18 years. |Strange Clouds Appear In Kentucky And Ohio
Posted: 05 Aug 2015 06:31 AM PDT
Spectacular images of undulatus asperatus clouds were captured on Monday in Kentucky and southern Ohio and shared on social media. Undulatus means wavy and asperatus translates as agitated or roughed, so the name is Latin for “agitated waves.”
Undulatus asperatus clouds are a rare formation that was proposed as a new category of cloud in 2009, according to the National Weather Service, and is likely to become the first cloud formation added since 1951 to the International Cloud Atlas of the World Meteorological Organization. In this case, these incredible images were seen while thunderstorms were in the area early Monday morning. MORE

|Archaeologists find the gate to Goliath’s hometown
Posted: 04 Aug 2015 01:35 PM PDT
An archaeological dig now in its 20th year has uncovered the entrance gate to Gath, the ancient Biblical city of the Philistines and onetime home of the giant Goliath. Before the king of Damascus destroyed it in 830 BCE, Gath was the largest city in the land for hundreds of years, reports the Jerusalem Post.
The Bible refers to the massive city gate itself, in the story of David’s escape from King Saul to the king of Gath. In addition to the city gate, scientists have also unearthed an “impressive fortification wall,” several buildings that include a temple and iron production facility, and what the Post calls the earliest “decipherable” Philistine inscription ever found—which contains two names similar to “Goliath.” MORE

|NTEB Article On Gay Choir Leader At Hillsong NYC Forces Response From Brian Houston
Posted: 04 Aug 2015 01:29 PM PDT
OUR STORY WENT VIRAL WITH HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF VIEWS OVER THE PAST 48 HOURS FROM ALL AROUND THE WORLD.
Two days ago, on August 2nd, NTEB published an article showing that as recently as January of 2015, Hillsong NYC Church had an openly-out gay church member, Josh Canfield, leading their worship choir, with his “fiance” Russ Kelly also singing in the choir. Josh Canfield, in an interview with Playbill.com, said this: ” I became truthful with my church. I’m a part of Hillsong NYC. I’m one of their choir directors. I also sing on their Worship team. They’ve been amazing as well. Nothing has changed there now that I’m completely out and with Reed. He sings in the choir as well.” Well, according to Brian Houston’s official statement released this morning, everything has changed.
Canfield’s story was published in multiple reputable sources like the New York Times and CNN, and as far as we could ascertain, there are no published statements to the contrary disputing Josh Canfield’s choir leadership. Our story went viral with hundreds of thousands of views over the past 48 hours from all around the world. Today, senior Pastor of Hillsong Church International, Brian Houston, issued his response to the rapidly escalating controversy. You may read the entire article in full here, and pertinent to our story, this is what he had to say on Hillsong and the LGBT Lifestyle: FULL REPORT

“Stalk them and kill them,” Farrakhan says, calling for 10,000 volunteers to kill whites
According to ChristianExaminer:
In a sermon reminiscent of the fiery rhetoric of an Islamic State preacher, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, now 82, said in Miami the time has come for 10,000 black volunteers to kill white Americans.
In the sermon at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Farrakhan said he was looking for “10,000 in the midst of the million … 10,000 fearless men who say death is sweeter than continued life under tyranny” to retaliate against white Americans because of their alleged oppression of black people.

Only Two Religions!
I don’t know if you know this but there are only two religions in the entire world.
You might say I’m nuts. There are hundreds if not thousands!
But there is one religion that likes to put on hundreds if not thousands of different masks on, and so ultimately there are only two: the religion of Human Achievement and the religion of Divine Accomplishment.
You see Islam, Mormonism, Buddhism, Catholicism, Judaism and every single religion that you have ever heard of, ultimately teaches some form of a works-based salvation. They say that you have to be a little more good than bad in order to make it to heaven. These religions encourage you to hand God a resume when you face Him one day. The resume will be filled with all your accomplishments. It will list everything you’ve done for other people, every penny you’ve given to charity and every good deed you’ve done. God will look over this resume and say, “Good job! You’ve made it into heaven”.
The problem is that if you were to enter into heaven because of a resume based on your accomplishments God would get no glory; you would be the one who gets all the praise. In fact, Ephesians 2:9 would say that salvation is not of works lest you should boast! Genesis chapter one shows us that God created the entire universe including you. Everything He created is designed to bring Him glory. The problem is that sin has entered the world, and from birth we all have replaced exalting God with exalting ourselves. Everything we do from birth is geared towards bringing us glory and bringing praise to ourselves. We all have a throne in our hearts that God should be sitting and reigning on, but instead we are born with ourselves sitting on it. We are so used to it we don’t even notice it to the point where we all think that our resumes are good enough to get us into heaven.
Of course we are going to think that we are good people! Of course my mom is going to tell me I’m a good person! But what does your Creator think? He says in Romans 3:23 that we all have sinned and fall short of His glory. He also says in Romans 6:23 that the wages of sin is death. So if we stand before God and start listing accomplishments or hand Him a resume we might as well slap Jesus in the face because God is going to look at the resume and say, “I killed my only Son because you were not good enough to get to me!”
And that’s where the only other religion comes in.
The religion of Divine Accomplishment. God saw your situation, and decided that since man was so sinful and could not save himself, that He would come Himself and take the form of a man. He humbled himself, spent nine months in a womb he created, grew up with every temptation you and I face every day, but without sinning. He then died on the cross for our sins, and then rose from the dead and defeated death. He made it possible for human beings to stand before God one day and not hand Him a resume and condemn themselves further, but rather, tell God that they deserve His wrath but have placed their faith and trust in the work that Jesus did on their behalf on the cross and through His resurrection.
You see we need someone to be a substitute for us because no matter how hard we try, we can never bridge the gap between God and us. And the substitute can’t be merely a human. It must be God Himself.
Do you see the difference between Christianity and every other religion?
The Greatest Story Ever Told
God’s goal in all of His creative and redemptive work is to bring glory to Himself (Isa 43:7; cf. Eph 1:6, 12, 14).
What is The Gospel?
“My Last Day” — the Jesus Anime
9 powerful minutes of animation that begins with a thief behind bars watching the scourging of Jesus, and it ends with the thief dying next to Jesus, and waking to see Him in a beautiful place.
The dying thief: What was so great about his faith?
There are many acts of extraordinary faith in the Bible. The one that has impressed me the most concerns the dying thief on the cross. We could take the approach that he had nothing to lose, so he decided to cast his lot with Jesus. But this makes absolutely no sense of the text and the context.
In this conversion we have a specific fulfillment of Christ’s first words on the cross. No sooner had Christ spoken the words, “Father, forgive them,” had the Father answered that prayer by turning a once-reviling criminal into a Christ-glorifying saint. While the soon-to-be converted criminal was not directly responsible for Christ’s death, he nevertheless joined with those who were and was thus indirectly addressed when Christ asked for God to forgive “them.”
Christ, the sinless one, was numbered with or counted among the transgressors (Isa. 53:12; Luke 22:37), all of whom have a bigger problem than the day-to-day sins they commit. They hate Christ, the God-man. Anyone who has a master other than the Lord Jesus hates him (Lk. 16:13; Gal. 4:8). That these two criminals loathed him is clearly manifested during the crucifixion: “And the robbers who were crucified with him also reviled him in the same way” (Matt. 27:44).
When the criminal who was converted was doing his worst against Christ, Christ was doing his best for this criminal.
The conversion of the one criminal was most extraordinary and testifies to the power of Christ’s prayer and the grace of God. Why?
This criminal’s faith did not come at a time such as when Christ turned water into wine; or performed miracles, such as walking on water, opening the eyes of a blind man, or raising Lazarus from the dead. No! The criminal believed on the Messiah while he was hanging as one cursed upon a tree. The criminal trusted in and boldly defended the one whose disciples had abandoned him. Jesus was at his lowest when this criminal asked to be remembered in Christ’s kingdom.
When he was on the cross, did anyone publicly cry out, as John the Baptist did, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (Jn. 1:29)? But this is essentially what the dying thief did. Little wonder, then, that Christ should promise him a place in his kingdom: “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise” (Lk. 23:43).
The criminal acknowledged he was guilty; he acknowledged that Christ was not (“this man has done nothing wrong”); he feared God; but, and here is the key: the criminal did not merely want to be in a better place. He wanted to be with Christ in a better place: “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” (Lk. 23:42). The criminal believed “against all hope”.
Heaven is a better place because that is where Christ is. Everyone wants to go to heaven, but not everyone wants to go to Christ’s heaven. Not so with this criminal: he saw, with his eyes, Christ at his worst; but with the eyes of faith, he believed that Christ would soon be at his best, and so put his faith in a dying king.
Christ is always – always! – willing to save even the most miserable of sinners. A recognition of guilt (Lk. 23:40) and a confidence in him and not ourselves (Lk. 23:42) will always lead to the most assuring truth a sinner can receive: the Savior welcomes such into his paradise!
