Kerry Furious at Abbas and Netanyahu for Denying Him Peace Process Prize
Obama and Kerry have said numerous times that they only would suggest conditions for two states but that it was up to the Palestinian Authority and Israel to want them. Now that both sides don’t want them, Kerry cannot forgive them.

The Democratic Party Is A Death Cult
I am so sick of these progressive Democrats waiting to pounce on death and exploit it to their advantage. It takes a special kind of person to do it, to see something awful unfolding on television and think, “How can I use this to my advantage?” That’s the modern American left, and it has to be destroyed.

The Outrage Over Shooting a Newspaper
All I did was put seven bullet holes in a New York Times editorial from top to bottom. I guess I should again point out that I wasn’t going for a grouping, but top to bottom coverage. In any event, the left seems more outraged by me putting bullet holes in a newspaper than they are terrorists shooting up a place in California.

4 Reasons Why Falling Oil Prices Are Worse Than You Think
Falling oil prices have a sweeping impact on the domestic economy, for both better and worse. No one is going to complain about paying less for gasoline at the pump and some businesses love the lower cost of oil. But the fall of oil isn’t good for everyone.

JPMorgan Warns Of “Eye-Catching” 76% Probability Of Recession
Just days ago Citi pronounced, much to the chagrin of the status-quo-hugging Fed faithful, that given the turn in corporate profits (and concerns over margin sustainability) that the chance of a recession in the US had risen to 65% (and on that basis had a bearish outlook for US equities). Now, as other major sell-side shops jump on the equity un-bullish narrative, JPMorgan’s Michael Feroli warns that in the past, a low unemployment rate, rising compensation, falling margins, and elevated durables investment have historically signaled an elevated risk that an expansion is nearing its end… and puts the probability of a US recession within 3 years at 76%.

No, Mr. President, the NRA is not to blame: Chris Cox
Just when we think that politics can’t sink any lower, President Obama once again proves us wrong by politicizing the tragedy in San Bernardino before the facts were even known. What we do know is that the American people are heartbroken by these horrific crimes — and despite what the president would have us believe — America’s law-abiding gun owners are heartbroken by these horrific crimes as well. At the same time, we are sick and tired of this president suggesting the men and women of the National Rifle Association are somehow to blame.

How Russia is smashing the Turkish game in Syria
Daesh stolen oil can’t flow through Damascus-controlled territory. Can’t flow though Shiite-dominated Iraq. Can’t go east to Iran. It’s Turkey or nothing. Turkey is the easternmost arm of NATO. The US and NATO “support” Turkey. So a case can be made that the US and NATO ultimately support Daesh. What’s certain is that illegal Daesh oil and illegal KRG oil fit the same pattern; energy interests by the usual suspects playing a very long game.

‘Incursion’: Baghdad demands Turkey withdraw ‘training’ troops from northern Iraq

Did Turkey Just Invade Iraq To Protect Erdogan’s ISIS Oil Smuggling Routes? (What is really going on?)

Syrian war cc

The American people need to pay close attention to what is happening in Syria. There is a lot more going on there than just terrorism, civil war, and ISIS. If we are going to put our people in harms way, yet again, we should know why we are really there. Is it to fight ISIS? Is it to depose Assad? Is it to support “moderate” rebels? Is it to put a check on Putin? Is it to protect Turkish revenue streams?

Jesus’ Values Are in All Faiths, Obama Says at Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony; Sings ‘Jingle Bells’ and No Christian Songs

During Thursday’s White House National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, President Barack Obama suggested  the teachings of Jesus Christ are reflected in all faiths.

Obama, who was accompanied by his family, called Americans and the world to share the “spirit of compassion,” adding, “That’s the message of the child whose birth families like mine celebrate on Christmas — a prince born in a stable who taught us that we should love our neighbors as ourselves; and that we are our brothers’ keeper and our sisters’ keepers; that we should feed the hungry, visit the sick, welcome the stranger.

“These are the lessons of Jesus Christ,” Obama declared. “But they’re also the bedrock values of all faiths — values to be cherished and embraced not only during the holidays, but to be practiced in our daily lives.”

After the lighting of the tree, CNN reported that Obama and actress Reese Witherspoon led the assembled in singing “Jingle Bells.” Miss Piggy made an appearance, praising first lady Michelle Obama for her “Let’s Move” fitness campaign.

In Washington, Ya’alon warns: Iranian arms industry will mass-produce weapons for terrorists

DEFENSE MINISTER Moshe Ya’alon shakes hands with US National Security Adviser Susan Rice at the Saban Forum in Washington as Haim Saban (center) looks on. (photo credit:ARIEL HERMONI / DEFENSE MINISTRY)

Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon has issued a stark warning about a post-nuclear deal regional reality in which Iran’s weapons industry will receive a significant cash boost from sanctions relief to mass produce advanced arms for Iranian proxies, chief among them Hezbollah.

Speaking in Washington on Thursday to US Senators John McCain and Jack Reed from the Senate Armed Services Committee, and later with senators from the Committee on Foreign Relations, the defense minister said, “The Iranian weapon industry is very serious, and very advanced.

“It is not stopping in its attempts to develop advanced weapons that threaten not only Israel, but also other regional states and beyond the region. Now, thanks to the large quantity of money that will begin flowing to it after the lifting of the sanctions, it will begin manufacturing much more high-quality weapons, and will arm terrorist organizations in the region, particularly Hezbollah, Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad.”

Will We Hear Obama Say The Words ‘Islamic Terrorism’ In Sunday Night’s Speech?

The day before Thanksgiving, President Obama reassured Americans there was “no specific and credible intelligence indicating a plot on the homeland. He was very, very wrong.

Every time there is an Islamic terror attack anywhere in the world but especially in America, Donald Trump’s poll numbers shoot through the roof. “I’m gonna get people jobs and I’m going to protect people. And that’s why whenever there’s a tragedy, everything goes up, my numbers go way up because we have no strength in this country, we have weak, sad politicians,” the billionaire businessman said after the Paris terror attacks. Democrats are very aware that they are quickly losing control of the narrative as Trump continues his unchecked path towards the presidency in 2016.

Donald Trump On Radical Islamic Terrorism:

Donald Trump’s predictions on Islamic terror attacks in America have been right on the money every time. Watch this video to hear what every presidential candidate’s views on Islamic terror should be.

Because of the Trump juggernaut, Democrat decision makers are insisting that Obama step out and make a speech to calm America’s frayed nerves, which he is planning on doing on Sunday, December 6th. Whatever volume of words his teleprompter-powered diatribe will contain, you can be nearly 100% certain that Obama will not utter the words “Islamic terrorism”. The day before Thanksgiving, President Obama reassured Americans there was “no specific and credible intelligence indicating a plot on the homeland.” Seven days later came an explosion of gunfire and the deadliest terrorist attack in America since Sept. 11, 2001. The White House then announced that Mr. Obama would address the nation on Sunday night about the nature of the terrorist threat and steps the administration is taking to protect the United States.

Trump On Obama & Terrorism: There’s Something Going On With Him That We Don’t Know About

Check out Trump’s statements on Obama refusal to use the term “Islamic terrorism” starting around minute 8:30. But watch this thing all the way through, is very enlightening.

Ha! Obviously, Obama’s anti-terrorism plans, since they steadfastly refuse to call it what it is, Islamic, are a resolute failure and the end result is that Americans are dying. Not only that, if our current head-in-the-sand approach is not changed, more Americans will die because Obama and the Librocrats are pathetically unable to do what is necessary to keep us safe in our homeland.

Tomorrow at 8pm ET, @POTUS will address the nation on the threat of terrorism and keeping the American people safe → https://t.co/b68B45RuKg

— The White House (@WhiteHouse) December 5, 2015

//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js

So should you tune into the Obama Comedy Hour Sunday night, just remember one thing. 21 Americans are now dead because Barack Hussein Obama cannot utter the words “Islamic terrorism”, and there is nothing funny about that.

Obama Apologizing to the World for US on Climate Is Ridiculous

The Daily Signal reports:

President Obama’s opening remarks at the Paris climate agreement were effectively an apology for industrial progress. At the kickoff of the talks Obama remarked, “I’ve come here personally, as the leader of the world’s largest economy and the second-largest emitter to say that the United States of America not only recognizes our role in creating this problem, we embrace our responsibility to do something about it.”

Obama should not be apologizing for the economic growth that dramatically improved Americans’ and much of the world’s quality of life. Instead, the president should apologize for pushing costly and ineffective climate policies that will make us worse off and trap the world’s poorest citizens in poverty.

DAYS OF LOT- Big business picks side in fight for LGBT protections

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 09:26 PM PST

Believers in traditional marriage and biblical guidelines on sexuality are worried about the erosion of religious freedom because of a new threat they now are facing in the state of Indiana. One hundred fifty businesses have joined forces to lobby the state for a law guaranteeing LGBT workers new protections. “Indiana Competes” claims it wants “legislation that guarantees all individuals receive fair treatment in the workplace, in housing, and in businesses and government services throughout the state of Indiana.”

However, pro-family activists say changes to Indiana’s Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) that were forced through in April after intensive lobbying by pro-homosexual activists  already prohibit small business owners from using religious beliefs as a way to avoid providing services to a homosexual wedding or similar event. New legislation, pro-family advocates fear, would simply provide more tools for those looking to persecute those who believe in traditional morality. Micah Clark of the American Family Association of Indiana told the Indianapolis Star the push for new legislation was “divisive” and played into a “false narrative” about supposed discrimination against LGBT workers. Messianic San Bernardino victim was ‘gentile’ supporter of Israel

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 09:17 PM PST

While America puzzles over the mass shooting in San Bernardino, California, many American Jews are puzzling over an additional element: the religious identity of victim Nicholas Thalasinos. Pictured on his Facebook page wearing a scarf-style tallit prayer shawl, Thalasinos, who was killed along with 13 others in Wednesday’s shooting at a center for people with disabilities, has been variously identified in media reports as a Jew, a Zionist and, in some cases, a messianic Jew.

Just two weeks ago, Thalasinos reportedly got into a heated argument about the nature of Islam with co-worker Syed Farook, whom authorities said perpetrated the horrific San Bernardino attack along with his wife, Tashfeen Malik. Investigators announced Friday that they were treating the attack as a terrorist act motivated by Islamic extremism. Both husband and wife were Muslim, and authorities said Malik had pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in a Facebook post. FULL REPORT

FBI Neglect of San Bernardino Crime Scene Fits a Pattern

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 09:09 PM PST

The shocking sight of journalists storming into the apartment of the San Bernardino terrorists, less than 48 hours after the attack, was apparently allowed by the FBI, which handed the apartment back over to the landlord, who let the media in with a crowbar. CNN had a reporter on the scene, but its own analyst Harry Houck was shocked, calling it a “screw-up.” While the journalists’ behavior was disturbing, it fit a pattern: the Obama administration is careless about, or is reluctant to find, evidence of terrorism.

For example, the government has done almost nothing with the treasure trove of intelligence information it recovered during the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound in May 2011. Stephen F. Hayes of the Weekly Standard has waged a lonely battle to force the government to take the intelligence seriously–intelligence that could disrupt terror networks and prevent future attacks around the world. “They haven’t done anything close to a full exploitation,” perhaps only 10%, he quoted one analyst in May 2015. Democrats visit mosque to show solidarity After Mass Shooting

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 08:55 PM PST

Democratic lawmakers visited a mosque on Friday to show solidarity with Muslims in the wake of rising anti-Islamic rhetoric. They also showed resistance to any attempts by Republicans to restrict Syrian refugees from entering the country. Rep. Don Beyer, D-Va., and Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, D-D.C., attended prayer service at a Northern Virginia mosque on Friday. The visit was in response to try and tamp down rising anti-Islamic rhetoric, but comes at a time when Congress is beginning negotiations on how to fund the government.

Republicans have floated the idea of inserting language into the omnibus government spending package to block Syrian refugees. The bill must be passed by Dec. 11, when the government runs out of money, but Beyer pushed back against calls from Republicans to tighten refugee restrictions. READ MORE

Earth has lost a third of arable land in past 40 years

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 08:51 PM PST

The world has lost a third of its arable land due to erosion or pollution in the past 40 years, with potentially disastrous consequences as global demand for food soars, scientists have warned. New research has calculated that nearly 33% of the world’s adequate or high-quality food-producing land has been lost at a rate that far outstrips the pace of natural processes to replace diminished soil.

The University of Sheffield’s Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures, which undertook the study by analysing various pieces of research published over the past decade, said the loss was “catastrophic” and the trend close to being irretrievable without major changes to agricultural practices. Posted: 05 Dec 2015 08:20 PM PST

Early Thursday morning, southern Italy woke up to see this remarkable display — Mount Etna, Sicily’s tallest peak and active volcano, was erupting after two years of silence. The sky glowed red above Sicily, seen above from Calabria, Italy’s most southern region. The skies were cloudless on Thursday morning and Mount Etna was capped in white snow. Scientists say it was among the most violent eruptions from the volcano in the past two decades. The intense eruption exploded from Etna’s Voragine crater, and lofted ash 10,000 feet into the sky. The whole thing lasted less than an hour, according to Italy’s national institute of volcanology. The lava fountain reached heights of close to a mile.

High level winds from the southwest pushed ash over villages in Sicily and southern Italy, which was seen clearly on infrared satellite images. Numerous lightning bolts were also captured in the billowing ash cloud, which can sometimes happen in the most intense eruptions: Lightning in volcanic eruptions is caused by the same reason it occurs in thunderstorms — negative and positive charges separate in the atmosphere, and lightning is what restores the charges to balance. But why the charge separation occurs in volcanic eruptions in the first place is still not well-understood. FULL REPORT

RISE OF ISIS WOMEN: 10 of 71 recruits arrested in U.S. are female

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 08:10 PM PST

Ten out of 71 recruits for the Islamic State terror group arrested in the U.S. since 2014 are women, according to a new report which demonstrates that the role of women in the extremist group’s ranks is increasing.  Since March 2014, 71 individuals have been charged with Islamic State-related activities, 56 were arrested in 2015 alone, a record number of terrorism-related arrests for any year since 9/11 according to the report from George Washington University’s Program on Extremism.

Although a majority of Islamic State recruits and supporters tend to be male, an alarming number of women are joining the extremist group and helping to carry out its jihadist agenda.  Researchers identified 300 American and/or U.S.-based Islamic State sympathizers who use social media to radicalize new recruits. About one third of those accounts were operated by women, according to the report. READ MORE

Obama silent after FBI calls San Bernardino terrorism; LOOK what he did yesterday instead

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 08:04 PM PST

(Allen B West)We should know by now how our president reacts to certain tragedies that shock the very heart and soul of our nation — that nation he supposedly leads. Understandably (sarcasm intended) the president has a busy fundraising schedule to keep, as he did immediately following the murder of four Americans in Benghazi and the deaths of nine in Charleston, South Carolina, for example. He believes the show must go on, as he showed us right after the five U.S. servicemen were gunned down in Chattanooga, Tennessee — when he headed to New York for a broadway show.

And, of course, the only way one keeps a decent swing is to remain faithful to the golf course, as he showed us after addressing the nation in the wake of the Islamic State’s brutally beheaded American James Foley, when he jumped right back onto the golf course just minutes later.Well, at least in the case of James Foley’s death, the president addressed the nation and acknowledged a significant national tragedy. Which is what he DIDN’T do yesterday after the FBI confirmed our worst fears that indeed Wednesday’s massacre in San Bernardino appears to be an act of terrorism on U.S. soil. READ MORE

BREAKING NEWS- Middle Eastern Men Arrested Near Mexican Border with Steel Cylinders

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 07:47 AM PST

Five young Middle Eastern men were apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol this week in an Arizona town situated about 30 miles from the Mexican border, law enforcement and other sources told Judicial Watch. Border Patrol agents spotted the men crossing a ranch property in the vicinity of Amado, which is located about 35 miles south of Tucson and has a population of 275. Two of the Middle Eastern men were carrying stainless steel cylinders in backpacks, JW’s sources say, alarming Border Patrol officials enough to call the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for backup. A multitude of federal agents descended on the property and the two men carrying the cylinders were believed to be taken into custody by the FBI.

Only three of the men’s names were entered in the Border Patrol’s E3 reporting system, which is used by the agency to track apprehensions, detention hearings and removals of illegal immigrants. E3 also collects and transmits biographic and biometric data including fingerprints for identification and verification of individuals encountered at the border. The other two men were listed as “unknown subjects,” which is unheard of, according to a JW federal law enforcement source. “In all my years I’ve never seen that before,” a veteran federal law enforcement agent told JW. Baffled Obama says San Bernardino Shooting motive is a “Mystery”

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 07:34 AM PST

It is now official that the San Bernardino Shooting was an “Act of Terrorism”, after the FBI has even came out and declared this case to be just that! However the White House and Obama still remains silent on calling this “Terrorism”!  Obama lamented it is ‘just too easy’ for mass shootings to occur in America as he called for a new push on gun control in the wake of the San Bernardino attack.  The White House acknowledges it is too early to confirm a motive for the mass killing that left 14 dead and 21 wounded but insists it underlines the need for reform. ‘It is possible that this is terrorist-related, but we don’t know, it’s also possible that this was workplace-related,’ Obama told reporters on Thursday in the Oval Office.
‘We do know the two individuals who were killed were equipped with weapons and appeared to have access to additional weaponry at their homes.  ‘But we don’t know why they did it. We don’t know, at this point, the extend of their plans, we do not know their motivations.’ ‘I do think as the investigation moves forward, it’s going to be important for all of us, including our legislatures, to see what we can do to make sure that when individuals decide that they want to do somebody harm, we’re making it a little harder for them to do it.  ‘Because right now, it’s just too easy,’ he added. US Attorney General Tells Muslims To Call Her If Their Children Are ‘Bullied’ in School

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 07:26 AM PST

(Breitbart) Attorney General Loretta Lynch urged Muslim parents to contact both the justice department and the education department if they think their children are being “bullied” in school. “We’ve seen this for a number of years, we saw it a lot in the New York area [after 9/11], unfortunately, where there would be a backlash against the Muslim community in general,” she claimed at a Thursday fundraiser dinner for an Islamic advocacy group, Muslim Advocates. In response to Lynch’s address, conservative host Rush Limbaugh said on his radio show Friday:

Don’t bother with the principal! You know, education’s a local thing. But now all of a sudden, if your child is bullied and you are a Muslim, you are to call the Department of Justice in Washington and ask for the attorney general… Now, if you happen to be Jewish and your kids are bullied, don’t bother calling. If you happen to be Christian, if you happen to be Hindu, if you happen to be Tutsi or Hutu or whatever, don’t bother calling. If your kids are bullied, that doesn’t matter. Only Muslims are permitted to call… “Here is the attorney general claiming, promising to prosecute anybody who engages in anti-Muslim speech,” Limbaugh said. Trump refuses to rule out dividing Jerusalem

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 07:22 AM PST

The billionaire Republican frontrunner for president, Donald Trump, attempted to woo Jewish voters Thursday but raised concerns by leaving open the option of dividing Jerusalem, and likewise raised eyebrows playing up old Jewish stereotypes. “I’m leaving for Israel in a very short period of time,” he told the Jewish Republican Coalition in Washington DC during a campaign stop in which he sought to burnish his Jewish ties. His daughter Ivanka converted to Judaism upon her marriage, as a result is no longer reachable on Shabbat he joked.

But despite warm applause and laughter, the tycoon was booed when he refused to call Jerusalem the undivided capital of Israel, saying he first wanted to meet Binyamin Netanyahu. Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, Trump’s competitors, said earlier at the Jewish Republican Coalition on Thursday that they would move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, in a starkly different approach to the 3,000-year-old capital of the Jewish people. Thousands Gather to Declare San Bernardino a City for God

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 07:17 AM PST

(Charisma) In the midst of “prayer-shaming” and calls that “God is not fixing this,” thousands gathered at the 66ers stadium and churches around the country to proclaim San Bernardino for God.   The shooting by a married couple, which has yet to be determined as workplace violence or domestic terrorism—left 14 dead and 17 injured. But the death toll isn’t deterring church leaders.  Thousands gathered at the San Manuel stadium, home of the 66ers, Thursday night to pray for and remember the victims of the massacre.

“Our community has been put in unfamiliar territory because of this terrible tragedy. We know that our ballpark is a community gathering place and that is what we need now,” 66ers General Manager Joe Hudson said in a statement. “We need somewhere that all of us can come together and grieve for the senseless loss of life and assault on our home.” FULL REPORT

Donald Trump Says ‘Something going on with Obama that we don’t know about’

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 07:13 AM PST

(Los Angeles TimesPresident Obama’s refusal to use the term “radical Islamic terrorism” indicates that “there is something going on with him that we don’t know about,” Republican front-runner Donald Trump said Thursday, an ominous comment that echoed Trump’s history of questioning Obama’s birthplace and airing of false claims that he practices Islam.

The comment, delivered at a forum of Republican Jewish fundraisers and activists in Washington, was made in response to the rampage in San Bernardino. It was one of several remarks and themes in Trump’s improvised speech on Thursday that showed his ability to make provocative statements that would likely land other presidential candidates in trouble, but seem routine in the context of Trump’s campaign. The speech by Trump, the real estate magnate, was also notable for touching on Jewish stereotypes – with references to money and negotiating skills — that drew rebukes from some Jewish conservatives on Twitter but were received with some laughter from the audience. White House Assures the Nation ‘We’re Not at War with Islam’

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 07:09 AM PST

At the White House, Press Secretary Josh Earnest praised moderate Muslims around the world, telling Americans that the United States is not at war with Islam. “The president has been disturbed by a lot of the political rhetoric that we’ve seen,” Earnest said, although he added that Obama was confident that the majority of Americans would not target Muslims as a result of acts of terror. Earnest made his remarks after he was questioned by White House reporters asking why the president refused to use the term “radical Islamic terrorism.”

“It has been instrumental to our efforts against groups like al-Qaeda and ISIS and other terrorist organizations to make clear that the United States is at war with those organizations but we’re not at war with Islam,” he said. “We’re not at war with Muslims around the world.” He called the actions of moderate Muslims around the world “instrumental” to the fight against violent extremist terror organizations and praised “patriotic American Muslims” who served in the military. Glenn Beck has strong words for Obama’s “Global Warming” Gospel

Posted: 05 Dec 2015 07:05 AM PST

For six hours yesterday, a politically correct cover up took place following the despicable mass shooting in San Bernardino. For the first hour, we were told the masked gunmen — two or three of them — were white, dressed in military fatigues. The media didn’t know the exact number of assailants, but they knew, even with masks on, they were white. One source tried to tie the location of the shooting to Planned Parenthood, but when that didn’t pan out, it was good enough to report the location of the nearest Planned Parenthood — only a mile and a half away from the actual crime scene, the Inland Regional Center, which serves developmentally disabled individuals.

Once the name of the primary shooter — Syed Rizwan Farook — was released, CNN didn’t use it for two hours. The truth, revealed in off-the-record police statements, presents a much different story. The shooting was identified as Islamic terrorism within the first hour, and the FBI was involved almost from the beginning. “They were telling us after they had the name and address of Syed Farook, they didn’t think this was Islamic,” Glenn said during The Glenn Beck Program Thursday morning. “They weren’t sure this was terror. The state and the media has bent over backwards to protect, not the Muslim, but the Islamist.” READ MORE

Our Time is Short

Read: Recommitting Your Life To God and Jesus Christ – Restoration and Forgiveness With God and Jesus Christ (Updated Version)

What is The Gospel?

God made everything out of nothing, including you and me. His main purpose in creation was to bring him pleasure.

The chief way in which we as humanity do this is through loving, obeying, and enjoying him perfectly.

Instead of this, we have sinned against our loving Creator and acted in high-handed rebellion.

God has vowed that he will righteously and lovingly judge sinners with eternal death.

But God, being merciful, loving, gracious, and just, sent his own son, Jesus Christ, in the likeness of man to live as a man; fulfilling his perfect requirements in the place of sinners; loving, obeying, and enjoying him perfectly.

And further, his son bore the eternal judgment of God upon the cross of Calvary, as he satisfied the eternal anger of God, standing in the place of sinners. God treated Jesus as a sinner, though he was perfectly sinless, that he might declare sinners as perfect.

This glorious transaction occurs as the sinner puts their faith (dependence, trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ as their substitute. God then charges Christ’s perfection to the sinner, and no longer views him as an enemy but instead an adopted son covered in the perfect righteousness of his son.

God furnished proof that this sacrifice was accepted by raising Jesus from the dead.

God will judge the world in righteousness and all of those who are not covered in the righteousness of Christ, depending on him for forgiveness, will be forced to stand on their own to bear the eternal anger of God.

Therefore, all must turn from sin and receive Christ Jesus as Lord.

What Is the Gospel?

There is no greater message to be heard than that which we call the gospel. But as important as that is, it is often given to massive distortions or over simplifications. People think they’re preaching the gospel to you when they tell you, ‘you can have a purpose to your life’, or that ‘you can have meaning to your life’, or that ‘you can have a personal relationship with Jesus.’ All of those things are true, and they’re all important, but they don’t get to the heart of the gospel.

The gospel is called the ‘good news’ because it addresses the most serious problem that you and I have as human beings, and that problem is simply this: God is holy and He is just, and I’m not. And at the end of my life, I’m going to stand before a just and holy God, and I’ll be judged. And I’ll be judged either on the basis of my own righteousness–or lack of it –or the righteousness of another. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus lived a life of perfect righteousness, of perfect obedience to God, not for His own well being but for His people. He has done for me what I couldn’t possibly do for myself. But not only has He lived that life of perfect obedience, He offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice to satisfy the justice and the righteousness of God.

The great misconception in our day is this: that God isn’t concerned to protect His own integrity. He’s a kind of wishy-washy deity, who just waves a wand of forgiveness over everybody. No. For God to forgive you is a very costly matter. It cost the sacrifice of His own Son. So valuable was that sacrifice that God pronounced it valuable by raising Him from the dead – so that Christ died for us, He was raised for our justification. So the gospel is something objective. It is the message of who Jesus is and what He did. And it also has a subjective dimension. How are the benefits of Jesus subjectively appropriated to us? How do I get it? The Bible makes it clear that we are justified not by our works, not by our efforts, not by our deeds, but by faith–and by faith alone. The only way you can receive the benefit of Christ’s life and death is by putting your trust in Him–and in Him alone. You do that, you’re declared just by God, you’re adopted into His family, you’re forgiven of all of your sins, and you have begun your pilgrimage for eternity.

The Gospel on 5 Fingers

If you picked up a hitchhiker (not that I recommend doing that) and he saw a Bible on your car seat and said, “I’ve heard about this thing called the Gospel – can you explain it to me before you drop me off in one minute up the street?” What would you say?

Can you explain the gospel in 30 seconds? In one minute? In five minutes?

Here’s one way I have found helpful. The five main components of the gospel can be remembered on 5 fingers of one hand. Here they are:

1) Jesus’ birth
2) Jesus’ life
3) Jesus’ death
4) Jesus’ resurrection
5) Jesus’ ascension

Obviously each point can be elaborated on depending on how much time you have. Here’s the short version:

1) Jesus’ birth – Jesus, God himself, the creator of the universe, the Messiah, became a human being – took on flesh, and was born of a virgin.

2) Jesus’ life – Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to his Father. Though he was tempted in every way as we are, he never once sinned.

3) Jesus’ death – on the cross, Jesus himself took all our sins and paid for them. God the father counted all our sins to Jesus as if he himself had personally committed them. Then Jesus bore God’s wrath towards sin – the punishment we deserved – as a substitute for us.

4) Jesus’ resurrection – within 3 days, Jesus rose physically from the dead, proving that his sacrifice for sins have been accepted by God, since the punishment for sin was death. Jesus was seen by numerous people after he rose including 500 at one time (1 Corinthians 15).

5) Jesus’ ascension – Jesus ascended physically into heaven where he reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords. And someday he will return to the earth.

That’s the gospel, the good news, and if we believe in Jesus Christ and this good news and call upon him he will save us from our sins and give us eternal life.

That’s a simple way to remember the gospel – five fingers. Even a child can do it. So ask God to give you opportunities to share his good news today.

Ready to start your new life with God?

Who do you think that I am?

With that brief question Jesus Christ confronted His followers with the most important issue they would ever face. He had spent much time with them and made some bold claims about His identity and authority. Now the time had come for them either to believe or deny His teachings.

Who do you say Jesus is? Your response to Him will determine not only your values and lifestyle, but your eternal destiny as well.

Two presidential contenders discussed threat of Apocalyptic Islam at Republican Jewish Coalition forum last week. That’s significant. Here’s why.

Cruz-RubioSantorum-Huckabee2(Washington, D.C.) — Americans are increasingly on edge when it comes to personal and national security. They see the Mideast on fire. They see growing terror on our streets. No wonder they are looking for a President who truly understands the nature and magnitude of the threats we are facing and has the courage, knowledge and experience to keep Americans and our allies safe.

Last week — in the wake of the Paris attacks — only underscored the urgency. Minutes before a young Muslim wife and mother helped her husband unleash a terror rampage in San Bernardino on Wednesday, she pledged her loyalty to Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the emir of the Islamic State. She and her husband were later shot and killed by police after an intense manhunt. On Saturday, ISIS leaders publicly announced that Syed Rizwan Farook, 28, and Tashfeen Malik, 29, were “soldiers” of the Islamic State and responsible for the deadliest act of terrorism on U.S. soil since 9/11/01,

Why are Christians allowed to eat shellfish but not allowed to have sex before marriage?

WINTERY KNIGHT

I have a key that will unlock a puzzling mystery I have a key that will unlock a puzzling mystery

Here’s a wonderful article from Peter Saunders.

The challenge:

An argument frequently advanced by those attempting to defend homosexual practice is that Christians ‘cherry pick’ the commands in the Bible – that is, they chose to emphasise some commands while ignoring others.

The Old Testament may forbid homosexual acts (Leviticus 18:2; 20:13) but it also forbids eating seafood without fins and scales (Leviticus 11:9-12; Deuteronomy 14:9, 10).

So how can Christians then justify upholding laws on sexual morality whilst at the same time ignoring the food laws from the very same books of the Bible? Why may they eat shellfish but not be allowed to have sex outside marriage? Isn’t this inconsistent and hypocritical?

The solution is that God enters into “covenants” with his people, and the terms of those covenants change.

Especially dietary laws:

GodLife: Being Thankful When Family Disappoints You

Scripture:

“Giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20

God knows we often grumble and complain so he reminds us throughout scripture to give thanks. When we focus on the things we lack, we can forget to appreciate what we have. God wants us to give thanks for everything! How can we be thankful for our spouse, children and parents when they don’t meet our expectations?

Islam From a Religious, Prophetic and Law Enforcement Prospective

Islam is touted by our government, media and government school system as a “religion of peace”.  And many Christian leaders buy this story line hook,, line and sinker–and never take the time to see what the Bible has to say about the world’s fastest growing “religion”–one that is promoting terrorism in every corner of the […]

San Bernardino: CNN Asks Widow If Her Christian Husband Provoked Terror Attack

If you’ve ever wondered just how low leftwing CNN is willing to stoop in its never-ending quest to smear Christians as bigots, the video below should help answer that question. Using a series of snide and leading questions, just one day after her husband was murdered by Islamic terrorist Syed Farook,  CNN’s Gary Tuchman attempted to get the widow of Nicholas Thalasinos to indict her own husband as a Christian, anti-Muslim bigot.

Ben Carson Says Rapture Isn’t Biblical, Hell Not a Physical Place

GOP 2016 presidential candidate neurosurgeon Ben Carson shot down as unbiblical a widely held belief among Evangelicals that there will be a rapture. He also said he doesn’t believe Hell is a physical place.

The rapture is described in 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 and 1 Corinthians 15:50-54, according to gotquestions.org. The theory posits that believers who have died will have their bodies resurrected and, along with believers who are still living, will meet the Lord in the air. The rapture is expected to happen in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.

SBC Boyce College Prof Says Roman Catholic, Rubio, Saved

It’s become very apparent in recent months that the Evangelical Intelligentsia (EI) has chosen their candidate in the 2015 Republican primary, and it’s not an evangelical. We wrote about this earlier in the week in a previous post. There are a number of reasons why the EI does not care for the most conservative evangelical candidate, Senator Ted Cruz.

We can live lives of holiness and righteousness in response to the gospel and by the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit, but unless you are the sinless Savior, you cannot live a life of perfect obedience to God the Father and you cannot die as an atoning sacrifice for sinners. Only Jesus Christ can—and did—do that. That is the gospel, and if mere men could “live that out” then why did we need a Savior in the first place?

W4YW: Pro-Life Rhetoric, Sentimental Lies, & “Thoughts and Prayers”

Wisdom For Your Weekend: your weekly installment of things we’ve been reading (and watching) around the web.

Book Review of the Week

The Plausibility Problem: The Church and Same-Sex Attraction, Ed Shaw. Reviewed by Tim Challies. We need more books like Shaw’s, that tackle the experience of same-sex attraction as something for the entire church to grapple with—not just those who experience it. It centers on 9 myths that the church too often perpetrate when ministering to those with same-sex attraction. The issue, as Shaw and Challies both point out, is about much more than homosexuality. This is about what it means to be a family and be the church. We’ve got a lot to learn. This book helps us get there.

Articles of the Week

Loving Our Pro-Choice Neighbors in Word and Deed, Karen Swallow Prior. A very helpful distinction here. We can—and, indeed, must—speak out about the atrocities of elective abortion in our country. But there’s a world of difference between speaking the truth to power and being intentionally inflammatory. We can’t just stand on Christian convictions. We’ve got to hold those convictions in a Christ-like manner.

Seven Sentimental Lies You Might Believe, Matt Reagan. For some reason, cliché nonsense like this tends to increase during the Christmas season (we’re looking at you, Hallmark). Chances are you’ll quickly see through the lies of some of these…but others will sound hauntingly similar to things you’ve said recently. Don’t be duped by the sentimental sweetness of the spirit of the age. Sweet things can kill you, too.

A Complementarian Manifesto Against Domestic Abuse, Jason Meyer. There is a growing list of articles that can most accurately be categorized in the vein of shouldn’t-need-to-be-said-but-really-does-need-to-be-said. Count this among them. For too long complementarians (those who believe in gender roles within the church and the home) have, in practice if not in outright doctrine, encouraged a diminished view of women. Meyer takes a stand: complementarians, be clear that abuse has no place.

Is Prayer “Enough” After a Tragedy Like San Bernardino? Emma Green. One of the consequences of the frenetic pace of social media is that we clamor to respond right away to nearly every current event. But our right away response may not be our complete response. For many, the idea of “offering prayers and sympathy” after tragic shootings is naïve. We don’t need prayers, we need action! But as Green points out, this belies a foolish and narrow view of something incredibly powerful—prayer.

On The Lighter Side

Ellen Loves Scaring Her Guests, TheEllenShow. Some old gags are classics for a reason. And jumping out to startle people may be one of the best. As you watch and laugh, keep in mind that these are only funny because it’s not you. (Also note: Ellen enjoys explicitly talking about fear right before they get scared. She’s so meta.)

Wisdom For Your Weekend is presented to you by Chris Pappalardo, with occasional guidance from J.D. Greear. This is our attempt to reflect Proverbs 9:9: “Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.”

This Week in Calvinism – December 4, 2015

  • A member of a Pentacostal theology group on Facebook asks:

One problem with both arminianism and Calvinism is that one believes a loving God created man knowing most would burn in the lake of fire and the other believes he chooses people to burn eternally on the lake of fire. BUT what if the torment wasn’t eternal? What if the JWs are right on that? What if it is the destruction of the being?

Or what if the Calvinists are right about compatibilism?

  • Devin Logan of Newsmax lists three ways in which Calvinism has influenced American capitalism: 1) success as an indicator of character, 2) capitalist work ethic, and 3) mass incarceration. I’m surprised he didn’t mention burning heretics at the stake.
  • Plunge your mind into the ocean of God’s sovereignty.
  • Four steps toward joy in repentance.
  • Quiet time doesn’t earn God’s grace.
  • In a follow-up comment to his article about confronting the lunatic fringe of evangelicalism, Roger Olson clarifies that he does not “consider Calvinists our evangelical lunatic fringe.” Whew! What a relief!

Andy Crouch’s response to prayer shaming:

It is unrealistic, and arguably cruel, to ask for fresh words in the moment that we are confronted with suffering and loss, let alone horror and evil. Every human being, in these moments, falls back on liturgies—patterns of language and behavior learned long before that get us through the worst moments in our lives. There is no need to come up with a new thought or new words when you stand in the receiving line at a funeral home; it is entirely fine to say, “I am so sorry for your loss,” even though the family will have heard those words a hundred times before. What matters is not your words, which cannot possibly rise to the demands of the occasion, but your presence and your empathy.

The Most Essential Life Skill: Teachability

David Murray:

There’s one characteristic that separates the successful from the unsuccessful in every walk of life: teachability.

Those who are teachable, and remain so, usually succeed. The unteachable usually fail. I’ve seen that in business, I’ve seen it in the ministry, I’ve seen it among students, and I’ve seen it in my children.

No matter how much talent and gifting we have, if we are, or become, unteachable, we will never reach anywhere near our full potential in our careers, our callings, or our relationships.

Spiritual AIDS: The Church’s #1 Problem

If I were to ask you what you think is the largest problem facing the church in America, what would your response be? Well that exact question was asked at this year’s Ligonier Fall Conference. Seasoned pastor of 46 years, John MacArthur answered unequivocally.

“A lack of biblical discernment. The church basically suffers from spiritual AIDS. It could die of a thousand heresies because its immune system is so totally deficient”

John MacArthur(2015 Ligonier Fall Conference)

Is this an accurate assessment of the state of the church in America? I would say so. All you have to do is look at the best seller so called “Christian” book today. It is none other than Sarah Young’s book Jesus Calling, whose total sales worldwide has reached 14 million.

“After many years of writing her own words in her prayer journal, missionary Sarah Young decided to be more attentive to the Savior’s voice and begin listening for what He was saying. So with pen in hand, she embarked on a journey that forever changed her—and many others around the world. In these powerful pages are the words and Scriptures Jesus lovingly laid on her heart. Words of reassurance, comfort, and hope. Words that have made her increasingly aware of His presence and allowed her to enjoy His peace.”

Thomas Nelson, Publisher of Jesus Calling

In other words, this is beyond your normal journaling where you may be writing your Bible reading notes or personal prayer requests. This is going off to a place with simply paper and pen in hand to receive direct revelation from God outside of Scripture. Sarah Young herself admits to this in the introduction to her book.

“I began to wonder if I … could receive messages during my times of communing with God. I had been writing in prayer journals for years, but that was one-way communication: I did all the talking. I knew that God communicated with me through the Bible, but I yearned for more. Increasingly, I wanted to hear what God had to say to me personally on a given day.”

Sarah Young

I her own words, Sarah yearned for more than God communicating to her through the Bible. And people have boughten in to her, hook, line and sinker. Why? Spiritual AIDS. The Church in America dying from the heresy that God speaks to individuals outside of the Bible.

In the Appendix of his 2007 book The Truth War(ironically published by Thomas Nelson), John MacArthur highlights some reasons why there is a lack of biblical discernment.

  1. The rise of extreme tolerance – The church is reluctant to take a definitive stand on any issue.
  2. A refusal to shun the world – The church is preoccupied with image and influence.
  3. A failure to interpret Scripture accurately.
  4. A lack of spiritual maturity.

In light of the spiritual AIDS, the lack of biblical discernment, that is so prevalent in the church today, what is the solution?

“To proclaim the truth and to support the truth through Scripture and reason, this is the greatest need of the church.”

John MacArthur(2015 Ligonier Fall Conference)

May the true Church, consisting of true followers of Christ, who love His Word, return to a biblical discerment, for only then will she be cured of spiritual AIDS and build her immune system so as not to succumb to the heresies of the day, such as Jesus Calling!

“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment

Philippians 1:9

5 principles of gospel stewardship for Christmas and beyond

There cannot be a surer rule, nor a stronger exhortation to the observance of it, than when we are taught that all the endowments which we possess are divine deposits entrusted to us for the very purpose of being distributed for the good of our neighbor.” — John Calvin

Even if you haven’t looked at a calendar in weeks, it’s hard to miss the signs of the start of the Christmas season. Stores dropped their pumpkins and other Halloween themed paraphernalia into their boxes November 1 and replaced them with Christmas trees and garland. The 24/7 Christmas music stations have already begun their rotation of the same 25 Christmas classics. The malls will get progressively more crowded and it won’t be long until our mailboxes are full of Christmas cards from long-lost relatives and friends.

A somewhat less welcome intruder in the mailbox begins showing up around Thanksgiving: the annual year-end solicitation letters. Some of the causes these letters represent are near and dear to our hearts while others are decidedly less so (begging the question of how we even got on their mailing list in the first place).

Though the glut of letters may be intimidating, the reality is that many of these non-profits make roughly 60% of their overall fundraising budget in December alone. Without those funds, many of these worthy causes would simply not exist. Much good can and has been done from the monies received from these year-end solicitations. However, for a gospel-minded believer with only limited resources, the question quickly arises – “how much and to which cause should I send my hard-earned money?”

Thankfully, the Bible has much to say about how we should think about the resources he has given us and the word the Bible uses to describe the appropriate relationship we should have to all our things is that of a “steward.” While a biblical concept of stewardship refers to more than just how we spend our money (it encompasses our time, our bodies, children, talents, etc.), a biblical concept of stewardship is absolutely critical to our understanding of how we should rightly handle the God-given resources he has charged us to care for. With that in mind, here are five biblical principles of gospel-stewardship that should help you as you consider where to invest your money this December (and beyond!).

1. Everything is God’s

From the first pages of Scripture, we are presented with a world that is completely and totally God’s. It is not, and never has been, our world to do with simply as we please. In Genesis 2 Adam is placed in the garden and given the responsibility to “work it and keep it.” The garden was not his, but he was given the privilege and responsibility of tending it and benefitting from its produce.

Though Adam sinned and much has changed since that day, Scripture is still clear that, “The Earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof, the world and those who dwell therin” (Ps. 24:1). All we now have, our money, our friends, our time, even our very bodies were given to us for a time to do with as he pleases.

In the Parable of the Talents, Jesus tells the story of a, “man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted to them his property” (Matt. 25:14). The man going on a journey is Jesus, and we are the servants. Everything we have is his property which he has entrusted to us. Our houses, our jobs, our bank accounts, even our children do not belong to us. They are God’s and he has entrusted them to us for a time.

It is easy to pay lip-service to this concept, but it is much more difficult to operate on a regular basis in light of this reality. It is difficult to say with Paul, “I have counted everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ” (Phil. 3:8).

2. Unequal distribution of resources is part of God’s design

The Parable of the Talents continues with, “To one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one, to each according to his ability. Then he went away” (Matt. 25:15). Much can be gleaned from this one short verse, but what is clear is God intentionally doles out his “talents” unequally.

Talents, here, can be applied to physical resources, natural abilities, spiritual gifts, or anything else that comes to us from God. Even a cursory glance at the world tells us that he gives more to some than he does to others. A quick glance at the world around us is all we need to affirm this basic biblical principle.

I remember meeting what ended up being a close college friend for the first time. In what seemed like a day divinely orchestrated to display my deficiency, I was confronted with the fact that he was not just smarter than me, he was a far better athlete, and to top it all, he was musically gifted. I hated him instantly.

Over time the Lord helped me overcome my small-minded, selfishness, and see that inequality is part of his design. It’s not inherently unjust for some to have more talents, money, etc., than others. As his servants, we are to receive humbly what he has given us, not begrudging those who have more or disdaining those who have less. As Paul writes, “What do you have that you did not receive? If then you received it, why do you boast?” (1 Cor. 4:7) We must remember that God is the source of this inequality. However, what we do with these resources can be just or unjust.

3. Gifts are given for his glory and the good of others

On multiple occasions, Paul referred to himself as a steward of God’s grace. “This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God” (1 Cor. 4:1) and again, “For this reason I, Paul, a prisoner for Jesus Christ on behalf of you Gentiles–assuming that you have heard of the stewardship of God’s grace that was given me for you” (Eph. 3:1-2). Paul recognized the incredible gift of grace he had been given in the gospel and felt a deep and profound sense of responsibility. This drove him to say, “For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” (1 Cor. 9:16)

Paul knew that along with his gifts came an incredible responsibility. He was, as it says in the next verse, “entrusted with a stewardship” for the good of his fellow man and the glory of God. Peter makes the same point in 1 Peter when he encourages the churches in Asia Minor, “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace” (1 Peter 4:10).

As this passage should make clear, every resource given to us was not given simply and completely for our benefit. A blessing received is intended to bless others also. A helpful analogy to understand how Paul and Peter speak of gifts and abilities as distributed within the church is that of tools in building a house. A variety of tools—hammers, nails, saws, tape measures, levels, etc. —were handed out in the church. Our tendency is to polish each of our tools all the while showing them off to those around, when Jesus meant us to take those tools and get busy building his house.

4. Faithfulness is the key

Speaking of himself, Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 4:2, “Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.” The goal for a steward is not notoriety, or wealth, or success, or any other earthly measure of success that glorifies the recipient of the gift above the giver. The goal of a steward is to be found faithful and trustworthy by the one who made him a steward.

Returning again to the Parable of the Talents, upon the master’s return the servants are judged based on the “talents” they were given. The first two servants come bringing their talents and the additional talents that they had acquired in his absence. Each steward receives the same commendation from the master upon presenting their talents, “Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter the joy of your master” (Matt. 25:23).

That one returned with five additional talents and the other with two didn’t seem to bother the master. The point is each servant did as much as they could with what they had been given. Notice too that each servant only returned as many talents as they have been given. The one with five didn’t return with six, just with five, and the master was pleased. The master knew the limits of each servant and judged the return based on the talents he had given that individual servant, not another servant.

This is comforting because there is only one Billy Graham, Bill Gates, Bill Clinton, or Billy Joel.  We won’t be judged based on the skills, abilities, opportunities, and resources that these men had. Faithfulness for you doesn’t look like faithfulness for these men. God alone knows the gifts, talents, resources, and opportunities he has given us and he alone can determine whether we are a “good and faithful servant”. Pray that you will be found faithful.

5. What we do with our resources here will echo for eternity

This is one of the most important and misunderstood principles of stewardship in the broader evangelical culture. How we steward our resources here, on this earth, in the time and space he has allotted us, has eternal impact. What we do with the resources he has given us can be used to bring people from darkness to light, from bondage to freedom, from God’s wrath to his favor.

In the process, Scripture is clear we also store up for ourselves treasures in heaven. However, the point of our faithfulness is not that we may get a five-fold, ten-fold, or even 100-fold return on our monetary investment in this life. Any theology or philosophy that emphasizes the earthly, monetary payback as the sole motivation for giving now is hopelessly anti-Christian.

The New Testament is clear and consistent in its message: “Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal” (Matt. 6:20).

The decisions, investments, and actions we take here and now within our short, fragile lives can have an impact on the kingdom of God that will echo for eternity. What an incredible privilege!

5 People to Look Out For at Bible Study: A Response

THINKAPOLOGETICS.COM

This clip is quite funny. The sad thing is that I have run into many of these types of responses in my own life. What about you? Let’s look at a few of them:

  1. “New Testament Nate” and “Feel Good Frank” would benefit from our post called Are Christians Naively Marcionite in Their Theology and Practice?
  2. “Moralistic Megan” would benefit from some historical apologetics and a much deeper understanding of who Jesus really is. He is not just a moral teacher. See our post: Handling an Objection: “I love the moral teachings of Jesus but I don’t think He is divine.”
  3. “Oblivious Olivia” needs to read  Clay Jones on the Canaanites topic here. As far as Jesus not being nice, she needs to remember Jesus isn’t Barney.
  4. “Scientific Sam” needs to read the 100 or more responses to David Hume’s arguments.

Faith, belief, understanding, and virtue

Possessing the Treasure

by Mike Ratliff

1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:1-3 NASB)

There is such a thing as Biblical unity and then there is false unity.  True Biblical unity is, of course, rooted in the Word of God, while false unity is rooted in the world’s wisdom applied to Christianized thinking. Those professing Christians seeking unity with Islam and other religions, for instance, make their cause sound very noble, but true Biblical unity can only be based on one truth, “the unanimous agreement concerning the unique revelation of God through Jesus Christ” not human reason, or experience. In fact, professing Christians pursuing this…
