In an instant, Chesapeake Energy Corp. will erase the equivalent of 1.1 billion barrels of oil from its books. Across the American shale patch, companies are being forced to square their reported oil reserves with hard economic reality. After lobbying for rules that let them claim their vast underground potential at the start of the boom, they must now acknowledge what their investors already know: many prospective wells would lose money with oil hovering below $40 a barrel.

“Slavery is such an atrocious debasement of human nature, that its very extirpation, if not performed with solicitous care, may sometimes open a source of serious evils.” —Benjamin Franklin, 1789
TOP RIGHT HOOKS
Wednesday marked the 150th anniversary of the ratification of the 13th Amendment, which banned slavery. Barack Obama observed the occasion, saying, “A hundred and fifty years proved the cure to be necessary but not sufficient. Progress proved halting, too often deferred. Newly freed slaves may have been liberated by the letter of the law, but their daily lives told another tale.” He’s right that systemic oppression has often been a part of America — indeed, the human experience. He called slavery “our nation’s original sin” and described all the ways the struggle against it has unfolded over the years. It should go without saying that slavery was (and is) a vile institution.
What Obama failed to mention, however, is his own party’s long history of guilt on the matter. The Democrats’ “Great Society” has done nothing but run up trillions in debt to continue poverty. As Mark Alexander wrote on the 50th anniversary of that travesty, “The human tragedy of LBJ’s soul-crushing ‘welfare’ programs is incalculable. A rapidly growing permanent underclass, one utterly dependent on the state for its day-to-day existence, now constitutes the Great Society.” By design, Democrats benefit politically from that dependence and permanent racial grievance. Also by design, the first black president has only made race relations worse.
Ironically, Obama also noted that former slaves “couldn’t protect themselves or their families from indignity or from violence.” That would be thanks in part to gun control. And that terrible circumstance remains today on Democrats’ urban poverty plantations, where gangs often rule the streets and the law-abiding are subject to severe gun restrictions to go along with high crime. Gun control began as a racist proposition, and it effectively remains one.
While our nation has sometimes fallen short of its own ideals (we are human, after all), rather than perpetually fomenting racial discontent we should remember that Liberty is colorblind and strive to achieve it in every arena.
Some put their trust in government programs. Others put their trust in super computers and their metadata. But there is only so much security the U.S. government can provide. During a hearing before the Senate Homeland and Governmental Affairs Committee, Deputy Assistant Commissioner at the Department of Homeland Security John Wagner said if Islamic State terrorists tried to enter the United States by crossing the border like jihadists did before the Paris attacks, only “some of them would have” been stopped by law enforcement. “Some of them would have been prevented from traveling here to begin with,” Wagner said. “It’s been reported some of them were identified to governments as being a national security risk already. There’s information we would have received from their travel details that we’re confidence we would have identified had they travelled to the U.S.”
This assessment comes on the heels of a Senate report that declared the U.S. borders were no hindrance to a violent jihadist who wants to do this country harm. But a jihadist doesn’t need to cross the border in order to attack America. On Wednesday, a Muslim 20-year-old man living in Minnesota was charged for trying to recruit dozens of people to support terrorist groups, one of them being the Islamic State. And despite countless calls of help from government officials to root out extremism, leaders in several Muslim communities are unwilling to do so. Contrary to what the Left may claim, the Second Amendment most definitely isn’t obsolete.
Last year, a Congressional Budget Office study found out what’s in ObamaCare. To summarize: “CBO estimates that the ACA will reduce the total number of hours worked, on net, by about 1.5 to 2 percent during the period from 2017 to 2024… The reduction in CBO’s projections of hours worked represents a decline in the number of full-time-equivalent workers of about 2.0 million in 2017, rising to about 2.5 million in 2024.” The Office has just updated those figures through 2025, and the outlook even bleaker. The new report says, “The labor force is projected to be about 2 million full-time-equivalent workers smaller in 2025 under the ACA than it would have been otherwise.” Furthermore, “[T]he estimated effect on the labor supply will be larger — a drop of 1.7 — if measured by the decline in total hours worked.” The report flags three specific reasons:
- “Health insurance coverage expansions — comprising exchange subsidies, rules governing health insurance, and an expansion of the Medicaid program — are together expected to reduce the labor supply by 0.65 percentage points.
- “The HI surtax is expected to reduce the labor supply by 0.12 percentage points.
- “Other major provisions — a penalty on larger employers that do not offer insurance coverage, an excise tax on certain high-premium insurance plans, and a penalty on certain individuals who do not obtain coverage — are together expected to reduce the labor supply by 0.10 percentage point.”
This should provide Republicans more ammo as they work to repeal the law. Obama, of course, would never repeal his own signature achievement. But evidence of its harmful effects is working against Barack Obama, and Republicans — assuming they don’t implode — have a good shot at taking the White House in 2017, at which point repeal is more attainable. The Hill reports, “Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) pledged last week, during his most significant speech to date, that he planned to roll out a replacement plan for the healthcare law next year.” If — and that’s a huge if — the GOP plays its cards right, we can be rid of this colossal failure as early as 2017. And the equivalent of two million full time jobs could be saved as a result.

FEATURED RIGHT ANALYSIS
By Arnold Ahlert
A damning email released by Judicial Watch (JW) puts another exclamation point on how far the Obama administration and Hillary Clinton have been willing to go to protect their respective reputations at the expense of the truth. At 7:19 p.m. ET, on Sept. 11, 2012 — only hours after the attack in Benghazi had begun — former Department of Defense Chief of Staff Jeremy Bash notified leadership at the State Department that “we have identified the forces that could move to Benghazi. They are spinning up as we speak.” Unfortunately, things were already “spinning up” at the White House.
The specific forces mentioned in the email were redacted by the Obama administration, which had the temerity to cite Exemption 5 of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), allowing it to withhold information based on the “Deliberative Process Privilege.”
The revelation stands in stark contrast to former Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta’s testimony before lawmakers in 2013: “Time, distance, the lack of an adequate warning, events that moved very quickly on the ground prevented a more immediate response.”
Former Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey echoed that assertion, insisting he stood by the assessment of an independent review board that concluded “interagency response was timely and appropriate, but there simply was not enough time, given the speed of the attacks, for armed U.S. military assets to have made a difference.”
Yet in a testy exchange with Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Dempsey insisted assets weren’t sent because the State Department didn’t request them. “So it’s the State Department’s fault,” McCain countered.
“I’m not blaming the State Department,” Dempsey responded. “I’m sure they had their own assessment.”
They did indeed. “State colleagues: I just tried you on the phone but you were all in with S,” Bash wrote, in an apparent reference to then-Secretary of State Clinton. “After consulting with General Dempsey, General Ham and the Joint Staff, we have identified the forces that could move to Benghazi. They are spinning up as we speak. They include a [REDACTED]. Assuming Principals agree to deploy these elements, we will ask State to procure the approval from host nation. Please advise how you wish to convey that approval to us [REDACTED]. Jeremy.”
The email arrived after the first attack at the consulate, but before the second attack at the the CIA annex. It was during the second attack when Navy SEALs Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were killed by mortar fire while engaging the attackers. That was seven hours after the State Department informed the White House — in writing — that the mission in Benghazi was under attack.
The revelation of Bash’s email appears to vindicate Benghazi whistleblower Gregory Hicks, deputy chief of mission of the U.S. embassy in Tripoli at the time of the attack. During his own testimony in 2013, Hicks claimed he was rebuffed by Washington when he requested a stronger response to the attack, noting that “if we had been able to scramble a fighter or aircraft or two over Benghazi as quickly as possible after the attack commenced, I believe there would not have been a mortar attack on the annex in the morning because I believe the Libyans would have split.”
Hicks also testified that a special-ops team in Tripoli was ready to drive to a C-130 aircraft to help those in Benghazi when their commander was ordered not to proceed. “He got a phone call from SOCAFRICA (Special Operations Command Africa) which said, you can’t go now, you don’t have authority to go now,” Hicks said. “They were told not to board the flight, so they missed it.”
Instead, an after-the-fact team of six security officials from Tripoli and a Libyan military unit were deployed only to recover the dead and wounded, and to evacuate U.S. personnel from Libya. U.S. personnel who were taken to an airport and flown out of Benghazi.
JW President Tom Fitton aptly describes the despicable nature of what Barack Obama once asserted is “most transparent administration in history.” “The Obama administration and Clinton officials hid this compelling Benghazi email for years,” Fitton stated. “The email makes readily apparent that the military was prepared to launch immediate assistance that could have made a difference, at least at the CIA Annex. The fact that the Obama Administration withheld this email for so long only worsens the scandal of Benghazi.”
Yet there is also the unmistakable odor of a bipartisan cover-up. According to Matt Wolking, spokesman for the House Select Committee on Benghazi, the Committee was fully aware of the email. “The Select Committee has obtained and reviewed tens of thousands of documents in the course of its thorough, fact-centered investigation into the Benghazi terrorist attacks, and this information will be detailed in the final report the Committee hopes to release within the next few months,” Wolking said. “While the Committee does not rush to release or comment on every document it uncovers, I can confirm that we obtained the unredacted version of this email last year, in addition to Jake Sullivan’s response.”
Really? Then why didn’t it come up during the eleven hours of Clinton’s testimony before the Committee? Wouldn’t it have been illuminating to hear Clinton’s version of why even Hicks’ modest request for a flyby was ignored? Wouldn’t it have been equally illuminating to know how Clinton, or any other State Department officials responsible for protecting Americans in harm’s way were able to determine that assets couldn’t get to the scene in time while the fighting was ongoing?
As recently as this past Sunday Clinton doubled-down on her infuriating mendacity, blaming the “fog of war” as the reason she blamed the attack on a film when she spoke to the families of the victims. At the same time, in an outburst of further brazenness, she insisted she never told family members a video was to blame for the attack. Hot Air’s Guy Benson notes the absurdity of such a claim: “This is a direct contradiction of very explicit memories shared on the record by multiple people who have far less incentive to lie than, say, a truth-challenged politician seeking power.”
A truth-challenged politician so used to fawning media coverage she apparently believes these sycophants will ignore corroborative accounts from several family members, and Clinton’s own assertion at Joint Base Andrews during the ceremonial return of the bodies of Sean Smith, Navy SEALS Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods and Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. That’s when she stated Americans have “seen rage and violence directed at American embassies over an awful Internet video that we had nothing to do with.”
As for Clinton’s fog of war assertion, it take tremendous gall to compare her disorientation to that which, for example, afflicted Navy SEALs who took out Osama bin Laden. Fog of war defined as a condition where an individual experiences a mental overload because the volume of the data received is greater than the speed at which the information can be processed.
In other words, Clinton is comparing sitting at a desk and speaking on the phone or sending emails with being in hostile territory and facing a potentially deadly conflict, while trying to take out the most wanted terrorist in the entire world. It doesn’t get more shameless than that.

OPINION IN BRIEF
Tony Perkins: “[W]e need to consider one of the unfortunate realities — in America and elsewhere — which is that the purpose of immigration has changed. It used to exist for people who wanted to come to America and assimilate. Now, in a dramatic shift from even our grandparents’ generation, the ‘sensitivity’ and ‘diversity’ doctrine of the modern age is suggesting that we create cultural enclaves, where outsiders come to our country and live as if they never left home. … What most people either don’t realize or willfully ignore is that only 16 percent of Islam is a religion — the rest is a combination of military, judicial, economic, and political system. Christianity, by comparison, isn’t a judicial or economic code — but a faith. So to suggest that we would be imposing some sort of religious test on Muslims is inaccurate. Sharia is not a religion in the context of the First Amendment. … The bottom line is this: the U.S. Constitution is an agreement between people about how they’ll be governed. What good is it if people immigrate to America with the sole purpose of undermining that contract? We shouldn’t be embarrassed to say that we oppose those who want to come to the United States to destroy it.”
Insight: “If the author of the Declaration of Independence were to utter such a sentiment today, the Post Office Department could exclude him from the mail, grand juries could indict him for sedition and criminal syndicalism, legislative committees could seize his private papers … and United States Senators would be clamoring for his deportation that he … should be sent back to live with the rest of the terrorists.” —Frank I. Cobb (1869-1923)
Observations: “Bernie Sanders isn’t running to become president. He’s running to become George McGovern — the icon that inspires a generation of activists after him. He’s not interested in the war on terror, national security, or foreign policy in general. He’s interested in that darn one percent and assuring people that the reason they don’t have enough money is because the ‘millyunahs and billyunahs,’ as he calls them, are somehow taking it from them.” —Jim Geraghty

Demo-gogues: “We betray the efforts of the past if we fail to push back against bigotry in all its forms. … Our freedom is bound up with the freedom of others, regardless of what they look like or where they come from or what their last name is or what faith they practice.” —Barack Obama

I don’t always agree with Charles Hugh Smith but I very often do. He is someone people who care about the economy and politics should read regularly.
Look, the American dream can’t happen with central banks acting the way they have and the federal government regulating the real, productive, private economy to death.

People start engaging with your post, information is being spread, everything is good. A few hours later, you come back from lunch and attempt to post again. But this time, a little box pops up and says this:
You’re temporarily restricted from joining and posting to groups until Tuesday at 4:22pm.
And there it is, you are blocked. There was no warning message, and no reason why your privileges were taken away. You start scratching your head in puzzlement, then it comes to you. The last story you posted was CATHOLIC CHURCH PAID $79 MILLION BY OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO FORCE MIGRANT INVASION, exposing how Obama pays the Catholic Church millions each year to force Muslim immigration to the United States. You start talking with some of your friends, and dozens and dozens of them have a very similar story. Well, the “mystery” has been solved in a post Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg put on his personal page just yesterday.
On his official Facebook page, Mark Zuckerberg declared his love and support for the 1.4 billion followers of the Prophet Mohammad around the word with this official statement:
“I want to add my voice in support of Muslims in our community and around the world. After the Paris attacks and hate this week, I can only imagine the fear Muslims feel that they will be persecuted for the actions of others. As a Jew, my parents taught me that we must stand up against attacks on all communities. Even if an attack isn’t against you today, in time attacks on freedom for anyone will hurt everyone. If you’re a Muslim in this community, as the leader of Facebook I want you to know that you are always welcome here and that we will fight to protect your rights and create a peaceful and safe environment for you.”
See? Everything does happen for a reason. Notice that his post does not mention his support for people of Arabic descent worldwide, only for the Muslims. Why is that important? Because you can be an Arab and also be a Christian or a follower of Judaism. But if you are a Muslim, that can only mean that your religion is Islam and you are a follower of the Prophet Mohammed. Being an Arab is a bloodline, like me being Dutch and Irish. Being a Muslim means your religion is Islam.
As the circle of real freedom, both online and in day-to-day life, continues to grow smaller and smaller, standing up for Biblical truth and the American way of life will come at an ever-escalating cost. But don’t stop, don’t quit, and don’t get discouraged. Jesus Christ is coming soon to gather his blood-bought body of believers up and out of here at the Rapture. Keep your eye on the Prize, keep looking up.
The war is real, the battle is hot, and the time is short. To the fight!
Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) released a new video featuring a former Guantanamo detainee, Ibrahim Qosi, who is also known as Sheikh Khubayb al Sudani
EDITOR’S NOTE: After Obama authorized the release of Ibrahim Qosi in 2012 in a plea deal, Qosi immediately returned to full-time terrorism by joining Al Qaeda in Yemen. Today, Ibrahim Qosi functions as one of the leaders of the Islamic terror group, actively plotting terror against the United States and targets around the world. He is just one of dozens of Islamic terrorists that the Obama administration have enabled to continue in their terror careers.
In July 2010, Qosi plead guilty to charges of conspiracy and material support for terrorism before a military commission. His plea was part of a deal in which he agreed to cooperate with prosecutors during his remaining time in US custody. Qosi was transferred to his home country of Sudan two years later, in July 2012.
Qosi joined AQAP in 2014 and became one of its leaders. Qosi and other AQAP commanders discussed their time waging jihad at length in the video, entitled “Guardians of Sharia.”
Islamic scholars ensure the “correctness” of the “jihadist project,” according to Qosi. And the war against America continues through “individual jihad,” which al Qaeda encourages from abroad. Here, Qosi referred to al Qaeda’s policy of encouraging attacks by individual adherents and smaller terror cells. Indeed, AQAP’s video celebrates jihadists who have acted in accordance with this call, such as the Kouachi brothers, who struck Charlie Hebdo’s offices in Paris earlier this year. The Kouachi brothers’ operation was sponsored by AQAP.
The al Qaeda veterans shown in the video emphasized the importance of following the advice of recognized jihadist ideologues. Although AQAP’s men do not mention the Islamic State by name, they clearly have Abu Bakr al Baghdadi’s group in mind. Al Qaeda has criticized the Islamic State for failing to follow the teachings of widely respected jihadist authorities, most of whom reject the legitimacy of Baghdadi’s self-declared “caliphate.”
Qosi’s appearance marks the first time he has starred in jihadist propaganda since he left Guantanamo. His personal relationship with Osama bin Laden and time in American detention make him an especially high-profile spokesman.
A leaked Joint Task Force Guantanamo (JTF-GTMO) threat assessment and other declassified files documented Qosi’s extensive al Qaeda dossier. In the threat assessment, dated Nov. 15, 2007, US intelligence analysts described Qosi as a “high” risk to the US and its allies.
“Detainee is an admitted veteran jihadist with combat experience beginning in 1990 and it is assessed he would engage in hostilities against US forces, if released,” JTF-GTMO found.
In 1990, Qosi met two al Qaeda members who recruited him for jihad in Afghanistan.
Qosi was then trained at al Qaeda’s al Farouq camp, which was the terror group’s primary training facility in pre-9/11 Afghanistan. In 1991, Osama bin Laden relocated to Sudan and Qosi followed. He worked as an accountant and treasurer for bin Laden’s front companies, a role he would continue to fill after al Qaeda moved back to Pakistan and Afghanistan in the mid-1990s.
JTF-GTMO found that after an attempt on bin Laden’s life in 1994, Qosi was chosen to be a member of the al Qaeda founder’s elite security detail. He was also picked to perform sensitive missions around that time.
For example, Qosi served as a courier and may have delivered funds to the terrorist cell responsible for the June 25, 1995 assassination attempt on Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Qosi relocated to Chechnya that same year, before returning to bin Laden’s side in Afghanistan some time in 1996 or 1997.
“From 1998 to 2001,” JTF-GTMO’s analysts wrote, Qosi “traveled back and forth between the front lines near Kabul and Kandahar to help with the fight against the Northern Alliance.”
In Dec. 2001, the Pakistanis captured Qosi as he fled the Battle of Tora Bora. He was detained as part of a group dubbed the “Dirty 30” by US intelligence officials. The “Dirty 30” included other members of bin Laden’s bodyguard unit, as well as Mohammed al Qahtani, the would-be 20th hijacker. Qahtani, who was slated to take part in the Sept. 11, 2001 hijackings, had been denied entry into the US just months before.
While detained at Guantanamo in 2003, Qosi was asked why he stayed true to bin Laden for so many years. According to JTF-GTMO, Qosi explained it was his “religious duty to defend Islam and fulfill the obligation of jihad and that the war between America and al Qaeda is a war between Islam and aggression of the infidels.”
Qosi made it clear in AQAP’s new production that he hasn’t changed his opinion in the twelve years since. source
Nativity Scene Not at Florida Capitol This Christmas, Only Festivus Pole
Posted: 10 Dec 2015 06:27 AM PST
A Florida-based Christian ministry has announced that they will not be placing a nativity scene at the capitol rotunda this Christmas season. Florida Prayer Network posted an open letter on Facebook Saturday explaining that, unlike past years, they will not put the manger scene at the capitol rotunda in Tallahassee. In previous years, the group’s display has led to counter-displays from atheist groups who oppose the presence of the nativity on government property. Pam Olsen, president of the network, wrote in the open letter that news of mass shootings and racial tensions in the country prompted her to want to avoid the annual debate over the display and the counter-displays.
“I truly want the message of Christ, the Son of God, born in a manger so long ago in Bethlehem, to be heard very clearly at this difficult time, instead of the dissension in the Capitol rotunda. This is not the year for that kind of debate in our rotunda,” wrote Olsen. “We pray that Christ’s message of hope and peace will be communicated in a much stronger way this year from Florida’s capitol, by us NOT placing the Nativity in the rotunda …” While deciding to not place the display, Olsen added that they still support those who want to place a manger scene and may do so again in the near future. |Atheists Call for ‘Bible-Free’ Hotel Rooms, Want Darwin’s ‘On the Origin of Species’ Instead
Posted: 10 Dec 2015 06:19 AM PST
The Freedom from Religion Foundation, America’s largest association of atheists and agnostics, began a campaign Monday to rid all hotel rooms of Bibles distributed by The Gideons International and replaced with copies of Charles Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species.” The Gideons International is well known worldwide for their work with hotels but according to their website, they predominantly share Scriptures in schools and colleges, prisons and jails, hospitals, and medical offices. The group is also an association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus through sharing personally and by providing Bibles and New Testaments.
In a release Monday, however, the FFRF charged that Gideons International was “exploiting hotels and motels to proselytize a captive audience,” and informed the American Hotel and Motel Association that they wanted the Bibles removed. The FFRF also sent letters to a number of companies, including Wyndham Worldwide, Intercontinental Hotel Groups (Holiday Inn), Choice Hotels International (Quality Inn), Hilton Worldwide, G6 Hospitality (Motel 6), Marriott International, Best Western, Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group (Radisson, Carlson, Country Inn) and Starwood Hotels and Resorts (Sheraton). “Those who must read the Bible every day will surely take precautions to travel with their own copies. The rest of us deserve a break from mindless evangelizing when we are on vacation,” wrote FFRF’s Co-Presidents Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor on behalf of the organization’s 23,000 non religious members. |How You Can Miss the Kingdom of God
Posted: 10 Dec 2015 05:52 AM PST
(Written By Lisa Great) When Jesus walked the earth declaring the kingdom of God was here, many missed the message, not because they did not see the signs, wonders and miracles; not because He was not a prolific orator; not because He did not highly value people; but because they wanted Him to come with a sword. Moses was not allowed into the promised land, not because he was not an effective shepherd; not because he missed spelled a word of the 10 Commandments; not because he didn’t know the way to the promised land; but because he struck the rock, he loved his sword. David was not allowed the build a house for the Lord, not because of his sin with killing Uriah; not because he took many wives and concubines; not because he slept with Bathsheba; but because he was a man of war and blood was on his hands.
Just as in the days of Jesus, the kingdom of God is here. We are in the middle of a major transition. That is why there is so much uncertainty among people, so many opposing viewpoints and so much confusion in the media and the church. We are living in the transition from one age to another, from one land to another, from one system to another. Many are confused. Many are revealing what is in their hearts. Many are not sure why what worked in the past is not working now. It is because we are in transition from one age to another age. There will be more ages and more transitions in the future; this is not the last transition, but this is a major transition. READ MORE

|Pamela Geller Claims Muslim Brotherhood Has Infiltrated The Government
Posted: 10 Dec 2015 05:44 AM PST
Columnist Pamela Geller insists Barack Obama has allowed “the infiltration of the Department of State, the Department of Defense, even 1600,” meaning the White House. When pressed on Breitbart News Daily by host Steve Bannon as to whether or not there was genuinely an “infiltration” of the government by the Muslim Brotherhood, “Unquestionably,” responded Geller. She also discussed Jihad in America and her most recent Breitbart news article contrasting the San Bernardino, massacre to the Garland, Texas attack which ended with no casualties other than the terrorists.
The similarities between the jihad attack on our American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) free speech event last May in Garland, Texas and the San Bernardino jihad slaughter are both striking and unnerving. Both events – our Muhammad Cartoon Contest and the San Bernardino Christmas party — offended Muslims. Both events violated the sharia: one was an art exhibit with depictions of Muhammad in art and literature over the past 1400 years, and the other celebrated a Christian holiday. Both deeply offensive to Muslims. The jihadis in both attacks trained at shooting ranges. The jihadis in both attacks were also “radicalized” long before they plotted and executed that jihad. |Sarah Palin endorses Trump’s Muslim ban: ‘He’s putting the good guys first’
Posted: 10 Dec 2015 05:40 AM PST
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has endorsed Donald Trump’s call for a ban on Muslims entering the U.S., claiming the Republican presidential front-runner is “committed to clobbering the bad guys, and putting the good guys first.” “Trump’s temporary ban proposal is in the context of doing all we can to force the Feds to acknowledge their lack of strategy to deal with terrorism,” Palin, the 2008 GOP candidate for vice president, wrote in a long-winded post on Facebook Wednesday.
Unlike dozens of Republican leaders who have questioned the constitutionality of the proposal and accused Trump of being “bigoted,” Palin claims it’s a “commonsense” measure that further demonstrates the billionaire’s “courage.” “A bold, non-politician candidate calls for a pause in this flawed bureaucratic program so it can be fixed, to make sure it doesn’t happen again. That’s common sense, which is why the media and spineless pundits attack it,” she wrote. READ MORE

Congress to Consider Easing Passage into U.S. for Immigrants
Posted: 10 Dec 2015 05:36 AM PST
Congress is set to vote on Thursday on what some have called an “unprecedented” right that would allow immigrants easier access to relocate to the United States, according to new legislation offered by a Democratic senator. The legislation, which is being offered by Sen. Patrick Leahy (D., Vt.) as an amendment to a larger bill governing nuclear safety, would prohibit the U.S. government from barring any individual from entering the country based on their religion.
The bill comes amid a fierce national debate about immigration to America, particularly for individuals coming from Muslim-majority nations. Critics of the Obama administration’s refugee plan, which would permit up to 10,000 Syrians into the country, maintain that there are not enough oversight measures in place to ensure that immigrants are not linked to terrorists or various terror organizations, such as the Islamic State. |Orthodox Rabbis Say Christianity a ‘Divine’ Gift to the World
Posted: 10 Dec 2015 05:31 AM PST
A group of Orthodox rabbis have issued a public statement calling Christianity a gift to the world. “We acknowledge that Christianity is neither an accident nor an error, but the willed divine outcome and gift to the nations,” read the statement published by the Center for Jewish-Christian Understanding and Cooperation in Israel. This comes after nearly two millennia of mutual hostility and alienation between Jews and Christians.
The statement, titled “To Do the Will of Our Father in Heaven: Toward a Partnership between Jews and Christians,” has been signed by more than two dozen Orthodox rabbis so far, including those from the U.S. and the chief rabbis of two European countries. It calls for cooperation between Jews and Christians to address the moral and religious challenges of our times. “We seek to do the will of our Father in Heaven by accepting the hand offered to us by our Christian brothers and sisters. Jews and Christians must work together as partners to address the moral challenges of our era,” the statement read. READ MORE

Police Recently Shut Down and Searched Three Mosques in Paris
Posted: 10 Dec 2015 05:26 AM PST
Kalashnikov ammunition and Islamic State propaganda was seized during multiple raids in France last week, following the closure of a mosque in the outskirts of Paris. The mosque, located in Lagny-sur-Marne or about 30km east of Paris, was shut down last Wednesday, according to the Agence France-Presse. It is the third mosque to be closed by French officials in the wake of last month’s Paris terror attacks. As as result of the raids, nine people were placed under house-arrest, while another 22 were barred from leaving the country.
In addition, another man, who was in possession of a revolver, was taken into police custody. Police say that man, who was a mosque leader, was also in possession of “extremist documents.” Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said the number of weapons seized since the terror attacks is staggering. “In 15 days we have seized one-third of the quantity of war-grade weapons that are normally seized in a year,” he said, according to Express UK. Our Time is Short
Read: Recommitting Your Life To God and Jesus Christ – Restoration and Forgiveness With God and Jesus Christ (Updated Version)
What is The Gospel?
God made everything out of nothing, including you and me. His main purpose in creation was to bring him pleasure.
The chief way in which we as humanity do this is through loving, obeying, and enjoying him perfectly.
Instead of this, we have sinned against our loving Creator and acted in high-handed rebellion.
God has vowed that he will righteously and lovingly judge sinners with eternal death.
But God, being merciful, loving, gracious, and just, sent his own son, Jesus Christ, in the likeness of man to live as a man; fulfilling his perfect requirements in the place of sinners; loving, obeying, and enjoying him perfectly.
And further, his son bore the eternal judgment of God upon the cross of Calvary, as he satisfied the eternal anger of God, standing in the place of sinners. God treated Jesus as a sinner, though he was perfectly sinless, that he might declare sinners as perfect.
This glorious transaction occurs as the sinner puts their faith (dependence, trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ as their substitute. God then charges Christ’s perfection to the sinner, and no longer views him as an enemy but instead an adopted son covered in the perfect righteousness of his son.
God furnished proof that this sacrifice was accepted by raising Jesus from the dead.
God will judge the world in righteousness and all of those who are not covered in the righteousness of Christ, depending on him for forgiveness, will be forced to stand on their own to bear the eternal anger of God.
Therefore, all must turn from sin and receive Christ Jesus as Lord.
There is no greater message to be heard than that which we call the gospel. But as important as that is, it is often given to massive distortions or over simplifications. People think they’re preaching the gospel to you when they tell you, ‘you can have a purpose to your life’, or that ‘you can have meaning to your life’, or that ‘you can have a personal relationship with Jesus.’ All of those things are true, and they’re all important, but they don’t get to the heart of the gospel.
The gospel is called the ‘good news’ because it addresses the most serious problem that you and I have as human beings, and that problem is simply this: God is holy and He is just, and I’m not. And at the end of my life, I’m going to stand before a just and holy God, and I’ll be judged. And I’ll be judged either on the basis of my own righteousness–or lack of it –or the righteousness of another. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus lived a life of perfect righteousness, of perfect obedience to God, not for His own well being but for His people. He has done for me what I couldn’t possibly do for myself. But not only has He lived that life of perfect obedience, He offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice to satisfy the justice and the righteousness of God.
The great misconception in our day is this: that God isn’t concerned to protect His own integrity. He’s a kind of wishy-washy deity, who just waves a wand of forgiveness over everybody. No. For God to forgive you is a very costly matter. It cost the sacrifice of His own Son. So valuable was that sacrifice that God pronounced it valuable by raising Him from the dead – so that Christ died for us, He was raised for our justification. So the gospel is something objective. It is the message of who Jesus is and what He did. And it also has a subjective dimension. How are the benefits of Jesus subjectively appropriated to us? How do I get it? The Bible makes it clear that we are justified not by our works, not by our efforts, not by our deeds, but by faith–and by faith alone. The only way you can receive the benefit of Christ’s life and death is by putting your trust in Him–and in Him alone. You do that, you’re declared just by God, you’re adopted into His family, you’re forgiven of all of your sins, and you have begun your pilgrimage for eternity.
If you picked up a hitchhiker (not that I recommend doing that) and he saw a Bible on your car seat and said, “I’ve heard about this thing called the Gospel – can you explain it to me before you drop me off in one minute up the street?” What would you say?
Can you explain the gospel in 30 seconds? In one minute? In five minutes?
Here’s one way I have found helpful. The five main components of the gospel can be remembered on 5 fingers of one hand. Here they are:
1) Jesus’ birth
2) Jesus’ life
3) Jesus’ death
4) Jesus’ resurrection
5) Jesus’ ascension
Obviously each point can be elaborated on depending on how much time you have. Here’s the short version:
1) Jesus’ birth – Jesus, God himself, the creator of the universe, the Messiah, became a human being – took on flesh, and was born of a virgin.
2) Jesus’ life – Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to his Father. Though he was tempted in every way as we are, he never once sinned.
3) Jesus’ death – on the cross, Jesus himself took all our sins and paid for them. God the father counted all our sins to Jesus as if he himself had personally committed them. Then Jesus bore God’s wrath towards sin – the punishment we deserved – as a substitute for us.
4) Jesus’ resurrection – within 3 days, Jesus rose physically from the dead, proving that his sacrifice for sins have been accepted by God, since the punishment for sin was death. Jesus was seen by numerous people after he rose including 500 at one time (1 Corinthians 15).
5) Jesus’ ascension – Jesus ascended physically into heaven where he reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords. And someday he will return to the earth.
That’s the gospel, the good news, and if we believe in Jesus Christ and this good news and call upon him he will save us from our sins and give us eternal life.
That’s a simple way to remember the gospel – five fingers. Even a child can do it. So ask God to give you opportunities to share his good news today.
Ready to start your new life with God?
Who do you think that I am?
With that brief question Jesus Christ confronted His followers with the most important issue they would ever face. He had spent much time with them and made some bold claims about His identity and authority. Now the time had come for them either to believe or deny His teachings.
Who do you say Jesus is? Your response to Him will determine not only your values and lifestyle, but your eternal destiny as well.
