Purpose-Driven NARpostles.

Note: There are no such thing as modern-day Apostles. Therefore, to expose the New Apostolic Reformation teachings on modern-day Apostles, we call them NARpostles.

With our involvement in the C3 and Hillsong cults, we have seen these leaders continually shed their snake-skin off their ministries to only grow a new snakeskin that reflects the latest fad sweeping the church.

Their timeline roughly worked like this:

(1980s) …. (1990s) … (2000s) … (2010)

[Click here to see key for above abbreviations]

Notice the pattern when they changed their heretical “skins”.

In the 1970s to the 1980s, Hillsong founder Frank Houston and C3 founder Phil Pringle were considered Apostles of the NAR (aka the New Order of the Latter Rain (NOLR)). Both claimed that they were taking the nations (and Sydney) for God. (This is all NAR dominion…

The Dangers of a Hardened Heart

Therefore, as the Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion, on the day of testing in the wilderness, where your fathers put me to the test and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was provoked with that generation, and said, ‘They always go astray in their heart; they have not known my ways.’ As I swore in my wrath, ‘They shall not enter my rest.’” Take care, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart, leading you to fall away from the living God.-Hebrews 3: 7-12

Over the years I have seen a lot of hardened hearts. This doesn’t pertain just to skeptics. Christians can succumb to the same problem. Obviously, when we talk about the heart, we are not literally saying somebody’s heart (that pumps blood) is hardened. What we are…

SBC Loses Nearly A Million Members

by Marsha West

According to Bud Ahlheim of Pulpit & Pen:

The Baptist Press just released the Annual Church Profile report for 2015. The article opens with the decidedly Scripture-oblivious words, “Southern Baptists may find cause for hope in the latest Annual Profile Report. The Southern Baptist Convention added more churches in 2015, due mostly to church planting efforts.”

Hillsong, Ronnie Floyd, Lecrae, Join Pope at Monumental Together 2016 Gathering

by Marsha West

Pope Francis is hoping to unite Christians in the “Next Great Awakening” at Together 2016. Jeff Maples and Brandon Hines of Pulpit & Pen have the story:

It has been thoroughly covered that the Together 2016 is hosting many questionable people liked by evangelicals, including Hillsong UNITED, Christine Caine, Kari Jobe, Kirk Franklin, the rapper “who happens to be Christian,” Lecrae, SBC President, Ronnie Floyd, Josh McDowell, Tedashii, Trip Lee, Ann Voskamp, and Matthew West. Since then, we have also learned that Matt Maher won’t be the only Roman Catholic these people are partnering with. Pope Francis has added himself to the lineup stating that he will speak to the people via video. Founder of PULSE, Nick Hall, who helped organize the event, said,

We are humbled and honored by his involvement and eager to share his message with the crowd that gathers at Together 2016…That His Holiness would choose to speak into this historic day is a testament to the urgency and the need for followers of Jesus to unite in prayer for our nation and our world.

The chart below makes me want to vomit.

Please look at it carefully. It is a chart of Google searches on the term “evangelism” in the United States from 2004 to the present.
As Google tells us, this type of information indicates where our interests lie.
We are not very interested in evangelism. Do we really care about the eternity of others?
It is a simple chart, but it speaks volumes. Here are seven lessons I gleaned from it.
We are steadily losing interest in evangelism over time. If you lose interest in something, you are certainly less likely to do it.

Church members are losing interest in evangelism. If the members of our churches are not interested in evangelism, our churches will become (or perhaps they are already) spiritual deserts with spiritual navel gazers.

Pastors and staff are losing interest in evangelism. Though that’s not in the graph per se, I have my own research that demonstrates this reality. I can’t recall ever seeing an evangelistic church without an evangelistic pastor.

American churches are among the worst in evangelism. Google uses an index to rank different geographical areas for a particular term. The highest score is given an index of 100. Ghana is the highest ranked in the work with a 100 index. Nigeria is second at 66, and Zimbabwe is third at 63. In fact, all of the highly ranked nations are in Africa. The American index score is a paltry 11.

Churches not doing evangelism will decline in health. Disobedience to the Great Commission is not the best approach to lead a church to health and growth. Google shows clearly why so many of our churches are doing poorly.

Church members are much more likely to criticize rather than evangelize. I call it “the great distraction.” I wish we could have a rule in churches that you can’t say anything critically until you have shared the gospel with someone. It would be a great source of church unity.

The evangelism problem begins with me. I probably share my faith a couple of times a month. That’s pathetic! I know God provides me more opportunities than that. I can fuss at you readers all day long, but I have my own sins and inadequacies that need God’s work.

Google Trends is an excellent statistical and analytical tool. But its data can be sobering and convicting.

As a rule, we in the American churches stink at evangelism.

And we wonder why our churches aren’t healthy.

Rewriting History: The Opening of HillsongChannel.

Brian Houston is not only a false teacher, he is a liar – and he knows it.

Brian Houston’s opening message for his HillsongChannel is absolute proof he knows what he is saying and teaching is both false and misleading.

According to Brian Houston, his success in starting the HillsongChannel is because Brian had:

  • an “untainted heritage”, “growing up in a Ministry family, and in a Ministry family, I was surrounded by the things of God and church life”
  • an “outrageous ability to dream”

This is simply untrue – and Brian Houston knows it. This article will demonstrate that Brian Houston deceived his international audiences with his rewriting of Hillsong history and his family’s legacy/heritage.

In our link, you can hear Brian speaking about himself with an exaggerated enthusiasm, comparing himself to Moses. Moses had a staff, Brian had a dream.

1. Moses lead God’s people and witnessed miracles along…

For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them

Possessing the Treasure

by Mike Ratliff

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them. (Ephesians 2:8-10 NASB)

As many of you know, I grew up as a Southern Baptist. After God saved me in 1986 I was a Southern Baptist until 2006 when our former church was overtaken by the Purpose Driven paradigm. I was bitter about that for a while. I and many of you found common ground having had our churches ripped away from us and in many cases finding it nearly impossible to find a good Biblical local church remaining in our area after the Seeker-Sensitive tsunamis had moved through devastating…
