10 Things That Every American Should Know About Donald Trump’s Plan To Save The U.S. Economy

donald-trump-speech-voa-public-domainCan Donald Trump turn the U.S. economy around?  This week Trump unveiled details of his new economic plan, and the mainstream media is having a field day criticizing it.  But the truth is that we simply cannot afford to stay on the same path that Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the Democrats have us on right now.  Millions of jobs are being shipped out of the country, the middle class is dying, poverty is exploding, millions of children in America don’t have enough food, and our reckless spending has created the biggest debt bubble in the history of the planet.  Something must be done or else we will continue to steamroll toward economic oblivion.  So is Donald Trump the man for the hour? Lights Begin To Dim For Dems As They Watch Hillary Poll Numbers Worsen By The Day

Hillary Clinton’s once formidable lead over Donald Trump in national and battleground polls is evaporating.

Donald Trump has pulled into the lead in Florida and Ohio, two crucial states where he has trailed Clinton for most of the race, and several states that once looked out of reach for Trump — Colorado and Virginia, among them — suddenly appear competitive.

One survey showed Trump swinging to a lead in Nevada, a state that President Obama carried with ease during both of his presidential campaigns. And a poll of Iowa, which has only gone for the GOP nominee once in the last seven elections, found Trump ahead by 8 points.

The swing in national polls is equally dramatic.

While Clinton led Trump by an average of 7.6 percentage points one month ago, her advantage is now down to a meager 1.8 percent, according to the RealClearPolitics average.

Showing the Crowd at Donald Trump Rally in Laconia, NH 9/15/16

The crowds are only growing larger at Trump rallies.

“No question there’s a movement toward Trump right now,” said Monmouth University pollster Patrick Murray. “When the media is focused on one candidate over the other, it’s generally negative. The media has been focused on Clinton and her health, and Trump smartly did not try to steal the limelight from her.”

The shift in the polls comes amid a brutal stretch for Clinton, who started last weekend by lumping half of Trump’s supporters into a “basket of deplorables” and then suffered a dramatic health scare while leaving a 9/11 memorial in New York City, only to later reveal a pneumonia diagnosis.

While the Clinton campaign has showed no public signs of panic, it is bringing the party’s heavy artillery to Ohio, dispatching Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) to campaign in the state.

How big are Trump rallies? See for yourself who the choice of the people is:

Democrats can take comfort in the Electoral College map, which gives Trump a narrow path to the necessary 270 votes. To win, he will likely have to pick off a blue state like New Hampshire or Pennsylvania, where he is still behind.

Yet the race is unquestionably moving into toss-up territory as Trump and Clinton prepare for a momentous debate on Sept. 26.

“The first debate is pivotal for Clinton if she’s going to arrest this drip and recover,” said Geoffrey Skelley, a polling analyst for University of Virginia’s Center for Politics. “If she doesn’t, then this race stays on a knife’s edge. It’s gone from being unlikely that Trump could win, to a slightly uphill climb for him.”

A CBS News-New York Times poll released Thursday found Trump and Clinton locked at 42 percent support nationally.

Only 43 percent of Clinton’s supporters say they’re excited about casting a ballot for her, compared to 50 percent of Trump’s supporters who are excited to vote for him. More than a third of young voters — a diverse group that leans left and formed a key part of the Obama coalition — are supporting a third-party alternative over Clinton.

Election handicappers are taking a wait-and-see approach before declaring a fundamental shift in the race, believing it’s still likelier that Clinton will win enough battleground states to take the White House.

Trump’s Army: Always Huge Crowds at Rallies

Forecasting models from the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics and Frontloading HQ still show Clinton with a significant Electoral College advantage. U.Va.’s model has Clinton running the table on the battleground states to win 348 electoral votes, which would be slightly better than Obama’s showing against Republican Mitt Romney in 2012.

But FiveThirtyEight’s forecasting model, run by data guru Nate Silver, finds Clinton’s likelihood of victory has plummeted from nearly 90 percent in August to 61 percent.

In the FiveThirtyEight forecast, Clinton ekes out a popular vote victory by 2.3 points and earns 290 electoral votes, compared to 246 for Trump. That’s a deficit that can be closed by moving two battleground states from Clinton’s column into Trump’s.

“I still think Clinton has a slight advantage,” said GOP pollster David Winston. “But it has definitely tightened up; this race is extremely volatile.” Republicans have seen this movie before and are skeptical.

Now let’s compare the size of a Trump rally to the actual size of a Hillary rally:

This week, conservative commentator Noah Rothman tweeted out a bevy of headlines from October of 2012 declaring that Romney had seized momentum and opened up a lead over Obama in the battleground states.

On Election Day, Obama out-performed the polls on the strength of his superior get-out-the-vote effort. He coasted to reelection, winning every battleground state except for one.

Democrats will once again have the advantage in money and ground game in 2016. But pollsters caution that there is no analogue for the 2016 race.

Analysts have never had to handicap a race with two candidates as historically unpopular as Trump and Clinton. There are still an unusual number of undecided voters, and interest in the third-party candidates remains a wild card.

Nigel Farage: Clinton is in for a big shock

Former U.K. Independence Party leader Nigel Farage on Hillary Clinton’s comments about Trump supporters.

Those variables have pollsters struggling to forecast turnout, and importantly, the likely make-up of the electorate. The uncertainty has fueled debate over polling methodologies as outlets have turned from sampling registered voters to screening respondents for those they believe are likeliest to vote.

“The incredible negatives these candidates have makes it very difficult to determine what a likely voter looks like,” said Winston, the GOP pollster. Earlier in the cycle, Clinton outperformed Trump among likely voters. Now, the pendulum has swung in favor of Trump.

In the Monmouth University survey of Nevada that showed Trump ahead by 2 points, pollster Murray said he screened out a significant number of Hispanics — who presumably would have supported Clinton — because they answered questions in a way that indicated they were less likely to vote.

A Bloomberg poll of Ohio that found Trump ahead by 5 points among likely voters put the electorate at 43 percent Republican and only 36 percent Democratic.

“Our party breakdown differs from other polls, but resembles what happened in Ohio in 2004,” pollster Ann Selzer, one of the nation’s best pollsters, told Bloomberg. “It is very difficult to say today who will and who will not show up to vote on Election Day. Our poll suggests more Republicans than Democrats would do that in an Ohio election held today.”

Pollsters don’t know whether minority voters and college-educated whites will turn out for Clinton because they fear a Trump presidency. They doubt the third-party candidates will pull their current level of support, but are unsure if those voters will stay home or move to a major party candidate. And they don’t know if Trump’s enthusiasm advantage is enough to overcome the Democratic turnout machine.

“It’s hard to know what the polls mean right now because the vast majority are motivated to vote against the other candidate,” Murray said. “We’ve never had a situation like this. It’s unprecedented. You can’t compare it to anything in modern times.” source

Our Time is Short

Read: Recommitting Your Life To God and Jesus Christ – Restoration and Forgiveness With God and Jesus Christ (Updated Version)

What is The Gospel?

God made everything out of nothing, including you and me. His main purpose in creation was to bring him pleasure.

The chief way in which we as humanity do this is through loving, obeying, and enjoying him perfectly.

Instead of this, we have sinned against our loving Creator and acted in high-handed rebellion.

God has vowed that he will righteously and lovingly judge sinners with eternal death.

But God, being merciful, loving, gracious, and just, sent his own son, Jesus Christ, in the likeness of man to live as a man; fulfilling his perfect requirements in the place of sinners; loving, obeying, and enjoying him perfectly.

And further, his son bore the eternal judgment of God upon the cross of Calvary, as he satisfied the eternal anger of God, standing in the place of sinners. God treated Jesus as a sinner, though he was perfectly sinless, that he might declare sinners as perfect.

This glorious transaction occurs as the sinner puts their faith (dependence, trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ as their substitute. God then charges Christ’s perfection to the sinner, and no longer views him as an enemy but instead an adopted son covered in the perfect righteousness of his son.

God furnished proof that this sacrifice was accepted by raising Jesus from the dead.

God will judge the world in righteousness and all of those who are not covered in the righteousness of Christ, depending on him for forgiveness, will be forced to stand on their own to bear the eternal anger of God.

Therefore, all must turn from sin and receive Christ Jesus as Lord.

What Is the Gospel?

There is no greater message to be heard than that which we call the gospel. But as important as that is, it is often given to massive distortions or over simplifications. People think they’re preaching the gospel to you when they tell you, ‘you can have a purpose to your life’, or that ‘you can have meaning to your life’, or that ‘you can have a personal relationship with Jesus.’ All of those things are true, and they’re all important, but they don’t get to the heart of the gospel.

The gospel is called the ‘good news’ because it addresses the most serious problem that you and I have as human beings, and that problem is simply this: God is holy and He is just, and I’m not. And at the end of my life, I’m going to stand before a just and holy God, and I’ll be judged. And I’ll be judged either on the basis of my own righteousness–or lack of it –or the righteousness of another. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus lived a life of perfect righteousness, of perfect obedience to God, not for His own well being but for His people. He has done for me what I couldn’t possibly do for myself. But not only has He lived that life of perfect obedience, He offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice to satisfy the justice and the righteousness of God.

The great misconception in our day is this: that God isn’t concerned to protect His own integrity. He’s a kind of wishy-washy deity, who just waves a wand of forgiveness over everybody. No. For God to forgive you is a very costly matter. It cost the sacrifice of His own Son. So valuable was that sacrifice that God pronounced it valuable by raising Him from the dead – so that Christ died for us, He was raised for our justification. So the gospel is something objective. It is the message of who Jesus is and what He did. And it also has a subjective dimension. How are the benefits of Jesus subjectively appropriated to us? How do I get it? The Bible makes it clear that we are justified not by our works, not by our efforts, not by our deeds, but by faith–and by faith alone. The only way you can receive the benefit of Christ’s life and death is by putting your trust in Him–and in Him alone. You do that, you’re declared just by God, you’re adopted into His family, you’re forgiven of all of your sins, and you have begun your pilgrimage for eternity.

The Gospel In A Nutshell

Now, with regard to this rule of faith—that we may from this point acknowledge what it is which we defend—it is, you must know, that which prescribes the belief that there is one only God, and that He is none other than the Creator of the world, who produced all things out of nothing through His own Word, first of all sent forth; that this Word is called His Son, and, under the name of God, was seen “in diverse manners” by the patriarchs, heard at all times in the prophets, at last brought down by the Spirit and Power of the Father into the Virgin Mary, was made flesh in her womb, and, being born of her, went forth as Jesus Christ; thenceforth He preached the new law and the new promise of the kingdom of heaven, worked miracles; having been crucified, He rose again the third day; (then) having ascended into the heavens, He sat at the right hand of the Father; sent instead of Himself the Power of the Holy Ghost to lead such as believe; will come with glory to take the saints to the enjoyment of everlasting life and of the heavenly promises, and to condemn the wicked to everlasting fire, after the resurrection of both these classes shall have happened, together with the restoration of their flesh. This rule, as it will be proved, was taught by Christ, and raises amongst ourselves no other questions than those which heresies introduce, and which make men heretics.

Tertullian, “On Prescription Against Heretics,” Chapter XIIl

Ravi Zacharias explains the gospel in two minutes:

The Gospel on 5 Fingers

Can you explain the gospel in 30 seconds? In one minute? In five minutes? Here’s one way I have found helpful. The five main components of the gospel can be remembered on 5 fingers of one hand. Here they are:

1) Jesus’ birth
2) Jesus’ life
3) Jesus’ death
4) Jesus’ resurrection
5) Jesus’ ascension

Obviously each point can be elaborated on depending on how much time you have. Here’s the short version:

1) Jesus’ birth – Jesus, God himself, the creator of the universe, the Messiah, became a human being – took on flesh, and was born of a virgin.

2) Jesus’ life – Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to his Father. Though he was tempted in every way as we are, he never once sinned.

3) Jesus’ death – on the cross, Jesus himself took all our sins and paid for them. God the father counted all our sins to Jesus as if he himself had personally committed them. Then Jesus bore God’s wrath towards sin – the punishment we deserved – as a substitute for us.

4) Jesus’ resurrection – within 3 days, Jesus rose physically from the dead, proving that his sacrifice for sins have been accepted by God, since the punishment for sin was death. Jesus was seen by numerous people after he rose including 500 at one time (1 Corinthians 15).

5) Jesus’ ascension – Jesus ascended physically into heaven where he reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords. And someday he will return to the earth.

That’s the gospel, the good news, and if we believe in Jesus Christ and this good news and call upon him he will save us from our sins and give us eternal life.

That’s a simple way to remember the gospel – five fingers. Even a child can do it. So ask God to give you opportunities to share his good news today.

Ready to start your new life with God?

Who do you think that I am?

With that brief question Jesus Christ confronted His followers with the most important issue they would ever face. He had spent much time with them and made some bold claims about His identity and authority. Now the time had come for them either to believe or deny His teachings.

Who do you say Jesus is? Your response to Him will determine not only your values and lifestyle, but your eternal destiny as well.

The Perseverance (Security) of the Saints

Notice all the Scripture references!

It is not just a handful of texts that teach the perseverance of the saints: the entire gospel sustains and confirms it. The Father has chosen them before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:4), ordained them to eternal life (Acts 13:48), to be conformed to the image of his Son (Rom. 8:29). This election stands (Rom. 9:11; Heb. 6:17) and in due time carries with it the calling and justification and glorification (Rom. 8:30). Christ, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen (2 Cor. 1:20), died for those who were given him by the Father (John 17:6, 12) in order that he might give them eternal life and not lose a single one of them (6:40; 17:2); he therefore gives them eternal life and they will never be lost in all eternity; no one will snatch them out of his hand (6:39; 10:28).

The Holy Spirit who regenerates them remains eternally with them (14:16) and seals them for the day of redemption (Eph. 1:13; 4:30). The covenant of grace is firm and confirmed with an oath (Heb. 6:16–18; 13:20), unbreakable like a marriage (Eph. 5:31–32), like a testament (Heb. 9:17), and by virtue of that covenant, God calls his elect. He inscribes the law upon their inmost being, puts his fear in their heart (Heb. 8:10; 10:14ff.), will not let them be tempted beyond their strength (1 Cor. 10:13), confirms and completes the good work he has begun in them (1 Cor. 1:9; Phil. 1:6), and keeps them for the return of Christ to receive the heavenly inheritance (1 Thess. 5:23; 2 Thess. 3:3; 1 Pet. 1:4–5).

In his intercession before the Father, Christ acts in such a way that their faith may not fail (Luke 22:32), that in the world they may be kept from the evil one (John 17:11, 20), that they may be saved for all times (Heb. 7:20), that their sins will be forgiven them (1 John 2:1), and that they may all be where he is to behold his glory (John 17:24). The benefits of Christ, which the Holy Spirit imparts to them, are all irrevocable (Rom. 11:29). Those who are called are also glorified (8:30). Those who are adopted as children are heirs of eternal life (8:17; Gal. 4:7). Those who believe have eternal life already here and now (John 3:16). That life itself, being eternal, cannot be lost. It cannot die since it cannot sin (1 John 3:9). Faith is a firm ground (Heb. 11:1), hope is an anchor (6:19) and does not disappoint us (Rom. 5:5), and love never ends (1 Cor. 13:8).

DISCERNMENT: Christians Without It Are Easy Prey for the Devil

Absolute Truth from the Word of God

It would probably take at least 4 or 5 articles to speak about the great wave of apostasy which has swept over the church in the past few years.  I will focus on one area of deception which is ever growing; and ever being received as truth. The danger of Ecumenism may be the greatest threat to followers of Christ than any other in the history of the Church.

The Refomation

Martin Luther was by no means a perfect man. But God did use him to expose the false teachings of the Catholic Church, and brought forth the Protestant Reformation.  He brought to light the false “works based” salvation offered by the Roman Catholics. He clearly showed that this belief was errant and in direct conflict with the Word of God.

Unraveling Hillary’s Religion

The Dangerous Spirituality of the Woman Who Would be President

Hillary had already fallen victim to one of religious liberalism’s most crucial failures. She was likely never warned of the Bible’s sobering words concerning following false “gods.” Modern liberals avoid such teaching as they replace the sufficiency of Christ with universal inclusion. But regardless of how sincere, when one chooses from the various deceptions found in the politically correct religious smorgasbord today, the truth still remains that Jesus is the only way, that all paths are not equal, and that the accompanying experiences are not from God.

Discernment Ministry – A Biblical Defense

From Berean Research:

DiscernersThere is no shortage of critics in the evangelical community who oppose those of us involved in what is called an online discernment ministry (ODM).  Our well-meaning brethren often take “discerners” to task for reporting on false teachers and apostate movements within the visible Church.  Moreover, we are chastised for being too focused on negative things, or being judgmental, hurtful, even hateful. Worse, some of us have lost friendships with those who complain that they’re tired of reading about wolf sightings.  Some go so far as to say that ODM is not biblical.

Pastor Gary Gilley of Southern View Chapel wrote about this issue back in 2009 where he stated:

Despite the clear mandate given throughout the Scriptures concerning the necessity for biblical discernment and critique, most continue to be critical of the whole concept.  Ironically, those who preach most tenaciously the need for tolerance are themselves intolerant of those who seek to faithfully follow God’s directives in this matter.

Pastor Gilley offers a biblical defense for the role of ODM in the Church.

Love Wins – A Polemical Review

Love Wins is a book by sub-Christian Mystic, Rob Bell. The book widely is believed to have led to Bell’s departure from evangelicalism. After writing the book and leaving his church, Bell now focuses on surfing, poetry, and mysticism.

Heresies present within the book include (please click the links to find out more):

Love Wins has been denounced by almost every evangelical leader of reputable doctrinal soundness, and for good reason. The following are some of their reviews.

Tim Challies

If Love Wins accurately represents Bell’s views on heaven and hell (at least if our understanding of the book accurately represents his views on heaven and hell), it reveals him as a proponent of a kind of Christian Universalism. He would deny the label as he tends to deny any label. But if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, well, you know how it goes (source link).

Matt Slick

Sure, people want to hear about the love of God.  Who doesn’t?  But that is not all that God is.  He’s also righteous, holy, and just, and people will be judged for their sin and we Christians should be busy presenting the saving gospel to everyone.  What Rob Bell does in his book is reconstruct God into a more palatable version that will make people feel good not only about the Divine Holy One but also about their own destiny…

This is an extremely dangerous teaching since atheists, and other unbelievers, who hear this message can be lulled into a false sense of security and not worry about receiving Christ in this life – because they are being taught they will have a chance to do so in the next…

To me it is obvious.  Bell is not a competent theologian and he should not be writing books that deal with serious theological issues.  Reading through his work is an exercise in frustration and heartache, especially when you realize how many people are being influenced by his liberal, unbiblical teaching about hell and universal salvation.  Sure, the message sounds good, but it isn’t biblically true.

John MacArthur

In fact, the most surprising thing about Love Wins is not the position Rob Bell takes, but the fact that so many people seem genuinely caught off guard and unaccountably confused by it. The record of Bell’s own words makes it clear that this latest book of his is little more than a distillation of things he has been saying all along. He abandoned Jesus’ teaching years ago in favor of a different religion—one more in keeping with his personal preferences. He is pointing people toward the broad way that leads to destruction.

Heresies: Universalism

Universalism (Universalism) is the doctrinal heresy that all people will be redeemed to God, and that all people will saved eternally. The term itself developed in 1820 in association with the Christian Universalist ‘Church’ that was founded a few decades before. Not all Universalists are a part of that denomination, however.

Along with denying the human occupancy of hell, Universalists typically refer to the “brotherhood of mankind” and that God is father to the entire world.

This heresy has effected many denominations,Christian churches, and sub-christian sects including Quakers, Methodists, Primitive Baptists, many especially liberal denominations and the Roman Catholic Church (although none of those groups embrace universalism in the majority or in their official teachings).

Whereas it is exceedingly difficult to find any organized church, other than the Universalist Church, that holds to Universalism in their confession, many groups are “practicing Universalists,” meaning that many practitioners of their faith act upon the supposition that people are not facing judgment in hell without a belief in the Gospel. The most notable of these include the Roman Catholic Church, as Pope Francis and other notable leaders of the sect have made statements that are flatly and plainly Universalist.

Modern proponents of Universalism are few and far between, but the most notable is Christian Mystic, Rob Bell.

Heresies: Annihilationism

Annihilationism, sometimes called “destructionism” or “extinctionism” is the theological proposition that there is no “hell” awaiting the unbeliever, at least not that can be defined as “eternal conscience torment” (which is the Biblical, historic and orthodox understanding of hell. Sometimes the heresy takes the form of “conditional immortality,” which teaches that only the redeemed will live eternally.

Those holding to this heretical doctrine assert that terms like “perish,” “be destroyed,” or “death” to demand a decisive end and completed action, meaning that they will perish but only for a time. This is in contrast to the heresy of Universalism, which teaches that all will ultimately be redeemed and live in Heaven eternally.

Groups adopting the heresy include Seventh Day Adventists and the Seventh Day Church of God (the Salem Conference).

Notable individual advocates of this heresy have included Clark Pinnock, Harold Camping, Edward Fudge, Greg Boyd and Ellen G. White. Proponents who are still alive include blogger and podcaster, Chris Date.

Four Blood Moons – A Polemical Review

Heresies Present Within this Book

Dual Covenant Theology

Many respected scholars and evangelical leaders and polemicists have spoken out about the flatly unbiblical, mystic and astrological teachings of this book.

Tim Challies

Hagee misuses Scripture. Hagee routinely misuses Scripture as he draws out his prophecies. He appears to read the Bible literally or metaphorically entirely on the basis of whether doing so suits his purposes. He approaches the Bible with his mind made up and then goes looking for proof of his assertion. Not surprisingly, he finds it wherever he needs to find it.

Hagee reads history conveniently. Four Blood Moons reminds me of the infamous book The Bible Code in its ability to predict the past and complete inability to say anything meaningful about the future. Hagee picks and chooses the historical events he will pronounce as significant while simply ignoring the ones that do not fit his point. He does not say, for example, that three of the four eclipses in this tetrad will not even be visible from Jerusalem, rather an odd fact if they are meant as a sign to and about Jerusalem. (An excellent article at AiG explains more about the lunar calendar and the occurrence of eclipses.)

Hagee writes as an American for Americans. It is always strange to read books like this from my Canadian perspective. Hagee believes America is a special nation in God’s eyes. But why is this true of America and not Canada, or Switzerland, or Vietnam? Why is it America that needs to heed these warnings and not any other nation? Though the gospel is for all nations, tribes and tongues, this is a book by and for Americans.

Hagee is not clear on the Messiah and the Jewish people. Hagee has a great admiration—envy even—for the Jewish people. His admiration is so pronounced that he appears to deny their need of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. The most cruel and false love of all would be to assure Jews that they are saved by virtue of their Christ-less faith. Yet Hagee seems to do just this, extolling Jewish faith and practice and refusing every opportunity to call Jewish people to turn to the Messiah who has already come. If he actually does believe they ought to turn to Christ, he does not make this at all clear (source link).

The wisdom of God hidden in a mystery

Possessing the Treasure

by Mike Ratliff

6 Now we do speak wisdom among the mature, but not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are perishing. 7 Instead we speak the wisdom of God, hidden in a mystery, that God determined before the ages for our glory. 8 None of the rulers of this age understood it. If they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 1 Corinthians 2:6-8 (NET)

When we are pressured in our circumstances to compromise and respond via the flesh, i.e. the way of the world, we are actually employing worldly wisdom. That wisdom says to, “Look out for number one!” It says to, “Never allow yourself to be taken advantage of.” It says to, “If attacked, respond in kind.” When Christians react this way then they are actually utilizing values that are part of a system that does…
