Read: Recommitting Your Life To God and Jesus Christ – Restoration and Forgiveness With God and Jesus Christ (Updated Version)

What is The Gospel?

God made everything out of nothing, including you and me. His main purpose in creation was to bring him pleasure.

The chief way in which we as humanity do this is through loving, obeying, and enjoying him perfectly.

Instead of this, we have sinned against our loving Creator and acted in high-handed rebellion.

God has vowed that he will righteously and lovingly judge sinners with eternal death.

But God, being merciful, loving, gracious, and just, sent his own son, Jesus Christ, in the likeness of man to live as a man; fulfilling his perfect requirements in the place of sinners; loving, obeying, and enjoying him perfectly.

And further, his son bore the eternal judgment of God upon the cross of Calvary, as he satisfied the eternal anger of God, standing in the place of sinners. God treated Jesus as a sinner, though he was perfectly sinless, that he might declare sinners as perfect.

This glorious transaction occurs as the sinner puts their faith (dependence, trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ as their substitute. God then charges Christ’s perfection to the sinner, and no longer views him as an enemy but instead an adopted son covered in the perfect righteousness of his son.

God furnished proof that this sacrifice was accepted by raising Jesus from the dead.

God will judge the world in righteousness and all of those who are not covered in the righteousness of Christ, depending on him for forgiveness, will be forced to stand on their own to bear the eternal anger of God.

Therefore, all must turn from sin and receive Christ Jesus as Lord.

What Is the Gospel?

There is no greater message to be heard than that which we call the gospel. But as important as that is, it is often given to massive distortions or over simplifications. People think they’re preaching the gospel to you when they tell you, ‘you can have a purpose to your life’, or that ‘you can have meaning to your life’, or that ‘you can have a personal relationship with Jesus.’ All of those things are true, and they’re all important, but they don’t get to the heart of the gospel.

The gospel is called the ‘good news’ because it addresses the most serious problem that you and I have as human beings, and that problem is simply this: God is holy and He is just, and I’m not. And at the end of my life, I’m going to stand before a just and holy God, and I’ll be judged. And I’ll be judged either on the basis of my own righteousness–or lack of it –or the righteousness of another. The good news of the gospel is that Jesus lived a life of perfect righteousness, of perfect obedience to God, not for His own well being but for His people. He has done for me what I couldn’t possibly do for myself. But not only has He lived that life of perfect obedience, He offered Himself as a perfect sacrifice to satisfy the justice and the righteousness of God.

The great misconception in our day is this: that God isn’t concerned to protect His own integrity. He’s a kind of wishy-washy deity, who just waves a wand of forgiveness over everybody. No. For God to forgive you is a very costly matter. It cost the sacrifice of His own Son. So valuable was that sacrifice that God pronounced it valuable by raising Him from the dead – so that Christ died for us, He was raised for our justification. So the gospel is something objective. It is the message of who Jesus is and what He did. And it also has a subjective dimension. How are the benefits of Jesus subjectively appropriated to us? How do I get it? The Bible makes it clear that we are justified not by our works, not by our efforts, not by our deeds, but by faith–and by faith alone. The only way you can receive the benefit of Christ’s life and death is by putting your trust in Him–and in Him alone. You do that, you’re declared just by God, you’re adopted into His family, you’re forgiven of all of your sins, and you have begun your pilgrimage for eternity.

The Gospel In A Nutshell

Now, with regard to this rule of faith—that we may from this point acknowledge what it is which we defend—it is, you must know, that which prescribes the belief that there is one only God, and that He is none other than the Creator of the world, who produced all things out of nothing through His own Word, first of all sent forth; that this Word is called His Son, and, under the name of God, was seen “in diverse manners” by the patriarchs, heard at all times in the prophets, at last brought down by the Spirit and Power of the Father into the Virgin Mary, was made flesh in her womb, and, being born of her, went forth as Jesus Christ; thenceforth He preached the new law and the new promise of the kingdom of heaven, worked miracles; having been crucified, He rose again the third day; (then) having ascended into the heavens, He sat at the right hand of the Father; sent instead of Himself the Power of the Holy Ghost to lead such as believe; will come with glory to take the saints to the enjoyment of everlasting life and of the heavenly promises, and to condemn the wicked to everlasting fire, after the resurrection of both these classes shall have happened, together with the restoration of their flesh. This rule, as it will be proved, was taught by Christ, and raises amongst ourselves no other questions than those which heresies introduce, and which make men heretics.

Tertullian, “On Prescription Against Heretics,” Chapter XIIl

Ravi Zacharias explains the gospel in two minutes:

The Gospel on 5 Fingers

Can you explain the gospel in 30 seconds? In one minute? In five minutes? Here’s one way I have found helpful. The five main components of the gospel can be remembered on 5 fingers of one hand. Here they are:

1) Jesus’ birth
2) Jesus’ life
3) Jesus’ death
4) Jesus’ resurrection
5) Jesus’ ascension

Obviously each point can be elaborated on depending on how much time you have. Here’s the short version:

1) Jesus’ birth – Jesus, God himself, the creator of the universe, the Messiah, became a human being – took on flesh, and was born of a virgin.

2) Jesus’ life – Jesus lived a life of perfect obedience to his Father. Though he was tempted in every way as we are, he never once sinned.

3) Jesus’ death – on the cross, Jesus himself took all our sins and paid for them. God the father counted all our sins to Jesus as if he himself had personally committed them. Then Jesus bore God’s wrath towards sin – the punishment we deserved – as a substitute for us.

4) Jesus’ resurrection – within 3 days, Jesus rose physically from the dead, proving that his sacrifice for sins have been accepted by God, since the punishment for sin was death. Jesus was seen by numerous people after he rose including 500 at one time (1 Corinthians 15).

5) Jesus’ ascension – Jesus ascended physically into heaven where he reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords. And someday he will return to the earth.

That’s the gospel, the good news, and if we believe in Jesus Christ and this good news and call upon him he will save us from our sins and give us eternal life.

That’s a simple way to remember the gospel – five fingers. Even a child can do it. So ask God to give you opportunities to share his good news today.

Ready to start your new life with God?

Who do you think that I am?

With that brief question Jesus Christ confronted His followers with the most important issue they would ever face. He had spent much time with them and made some bold claims about His identity and authority. Now the time had come for them either to believe or deny His teachings.

Who do you say Jesus is? Your response to Him will determine not only your values and lifestyle, but your eternal destiny as well.

The Perseverance (Security) of the Saints

Notice all the Scripture references!

It is not just a handful of texts that teach the perseverance of the saints: the entire gospel sustains and confirms it. The Father has chosen them before the foundation of the world (Eph. 1:4), ordained them to eternal life (Acts 13:48), to be conformed to the image of his Son (Rom. 8:29). This election stands (Rom. 9:11; Heb. 6:17) and in due time carries with it the calling and justification and glorification (Rom. 8:30). Christ, in whom all the promises of God are Yes and Amen (2 Cor. 1:20), died for those who were given him by the Father (John 17:6, 12) in order that he might give them eternal life and not lose a single one of them (6:40; 17:2); he therefore gives them eternal life and they will never be lost in all eternity; no one will snatch them out of his hand (6:39; 10:28).

The Holy Spirit who regenerates them remains eternally with them (14:16) and seals them for the day of redemption (Eph. 1:13; 4:30). The covenant of grace is firm and confirmed with an oath (Heb. 6:16–18; 13:20), unbreakable like a marriage (Eph. 5:31–32), like a testament (Heb. 9:17), and by virtue of that covenant, God calls his elect. He inscribes the law upon their inmost being, puts his fear in their heart (Heb. 8:10; 10:14ff.), will not let them be tempted beyond their strength (1 Cor. 10:13), confirms and completes the good work he has begun in them (1 Cor. 1:9; Phil. 1:6), and keeps them for the return of Christ to receive the heavenly inheritance (1 Thess. 5:23; 2 Thess. 3:3; 1 Pet. 1:4–5).

In his intercession before the Father, Christ acts in such a way that their faith may not fail (Luke 22:32), that in the world they may be kept from the evil one (John 17:11, 20), that they may be saved for all times (Heb. 7:20), that their sins will be forgiven them (1 John 2:1), and that they may all be where he is to behold his glory (John 17:24). The benefits of Christ, which the Holy Spirit imparts to them, are all irrevocable (Rom. 11:29). Those who are called are also glorified (8:30). Those who are adopted as children are heirs of eternal life (8:17; Gal. 4:7). Those who believe have eternal life already here and now (John 3:16). That life itself, being eternal, cannot be lost. It cannot die since it cannot sin (1 John 3:9). Faith is a firm ground (Heb. 11:1), hope is an anchor (6:19) and does not disappoint us (Rom. 5:5), and love never ends (1 Cor. 13:8).

Churches Looking More Like the World: Do Pastors Fear Persecution?

Absolute Truth from the Word of God

hireling

(John 10:11-13)   Words of our Lord Jesus

“I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.  The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.”

The early church

Just as the Lord hand picked His Apostles, so does He call men whom He has chosen to shepherd His flock. This is the way which God protects His own. He wishes no “hireling” to be in a position of authority over His little ones.

The first century church met in secret; small gatherings as to not call attention to themselves. They knew that the evil one was seeking to destroy and scatter them. And when these gatherings…

Baptist, Methodist, Episcopalian and Presbyterian Clergy Participate in Rally for Abortion

Two pro-abortion Reverends, Dr. Alethea Smith-Withers and Harry Knox, wrote an article arguing that people of faith should not oppose abortion: “Decisions about reproduction are morally complex,” they wrote. “And clergy do not always use Bible verses as political weapons — a misrepresentation too often promoted in the media. The wisdom found in our faith traditions is rich, nuanced, and rarely absolute. Here is the good news: Most people of faith in the United States support access to compassionate abortion care.”

Many Judeo-Christian leaders speak out against abortion, but the few who advocate for abortion often are the ones who get the most media attention.

On Monday in Kentucky, pro-abortion clergy held a rally at the State Capitol to advocate for abortion and other issues, the State-Journal reports. The event was called the Higher Ground Moral Day of Action, and it was held in conjunction with other rallies nation-wide.

Led by clergy, the event highlighted the upcoming election and called on candidates and elected officials to uphold “the most sacred moral principles of our faith and constitutional values.” These included “the economic liberation of all people; ensuring every child receives access to quality education; healthcare access for all; criminal justice reform; and ensuring historically marginalized communities have equal protection under the law,” according to the declaration.

Among other issues, the declaration called for the defense of abortion as “health care” and a woman’s “right.” In this way, the declaration omitted unborn babies from its call to stand against “systemic racism, classism, poverty, xenophobia, and any attempt to promote hate towards any members of the human family.”

About 100 people attended the Kentucky rally, including Baptists, Methodists, Episcopalians, Jews and Presbyterians, according to the report. While abortion was mentioned, the state rally focused more on criminal justice reform, marriage and gender issues. Similar events were held in about 30 other cities on Monday, the report states.

It is vital for Christians to know God’s Word

Possessing the Treasure

By keeping it according to Your word.

Tony Evans & Spiritual Warfare: Demon Busting With A Less Than Sovereign God

Bud Ahlheim of Pulpit & Pen reviews celebrity pastor Tony Evans’ book “Prayers for Victory and Spiritual Warfare.” Evans is the father of another celebrity, women’s Bible study teacher, speaker and author Priscilla Shirer.  From Ahlheim’s report we learn some troubling things about Pastor Evans’ theology.  Ahlheim shows that Evans’ teaching on spiritual warfare is decidedly unbiblical.  For example, his understanding of spiritual warfare includes binding, losing and rebuking demons.  “He also instructs readers on praying ‘hedges of protection’ and declaring the removal of curses as well as the imbuing of blessing by our words.  Elsewhere Evans has suggested an eye-brow raising affinity for beliefs drawn directly from Word-Faith, positive confession teachings.”  All of this is right out of the New Apostolic Reformation playbook.

So now to Bud Alheim’s book review…

Bill Johnson and Bethel Church

Due to the need for continuous reference to this man and his organization, this post is a “one-stop shopping” place for collecting links to articles about Bill Johnson and his staff or other associated persons, as well as the associated “ministry” band “Jesus Culture.”  (“JC” member false teacher Kim Walker-Smith is also Bethel’s “worship leader” and/or “worship pastor.”)   This man and his organization are spiritually dangerous to the body of Christ, and one of the top most aberrational churches in America.  The following links are copied from previous posts, and may not necessarily be in chronological order.  (I will continue to add to this page as I come across more articles.)

Bill Johnson claims that God does not cause illness, and He never chooses not to heal!
A Review of Bill Johnson’s book, When Heaven Invades the Earth.
Bill Johnson helped restore false teacher/prophet Todd Bentley to “ministry.”
Did you know that God gave every believer the same power to heal that Jesus has?  That is another lie told by Bill Johnson.  I really wish those like Bill, who preach such healing powers, would spend their lives in hospitals and cure the many patients.  Or go to Africa and cure people of Ebola.  They don’t do so because they are fake-healers.
Bill Johnson and Bethel Redding are part of the New Apostolic Reformation movement.
A brief summary of all of Bill Johnson’s teachings.  Nothing less than cultic.
Bill Johnson and his associate “pastor” Kris Vallotton want the mantle of heretic William Branham!
They can walk on water or walk through walls!  Scripture twisting with a vengeance.
And let’s not forget the “glory clouds” at Bethel.
More proof that Bethel Church is not about God or Jesus, but about the devil and all the distractions away from the true Faith.  Oh, but you can get Bill Johnson’s “Revival Collection” sermons on thumb drive for the bargain-basement price of $400!  On top of this, Johnson’s cult followers are incensed that this stuff has been exposed and reported!
Bad fruit from Bethel Church.
Then there are young people from Bethel church demonstrating why Johnson is such a false teacher.  The entire video is interesting, as Christians are warning people coming to Benny Hinn’s goat-pen. But at about the 45 minute mark the group from Bethel begin their false teaching, condemning the Christians for exposing a false teacher/heretic!
The cultic nature of Bethel Church.
Bill Johnson, Bethel Church and the Kundalini Spirit and other false spirituality.
More proof that Bethel Redding is not a place where the real Faith is celebrated, or the real Christ is worshipped. (Just to make a point from the title of the article, he’s canceling “debts” not “death.”)
Christianity Today Astray has an interesting article about Bethel Redding.
Bethel’s youth leader said that Jesus asked him for forgiveness?!?
False prophetess Heidi Baker gives “impartations” at Bethel.
Heidi Baker is a frequent teacher at Bethel, and her “prophecies” get really bizarre.
Bethel has a Holy Spirit fire tunnel — and the false teaching just keeps on growing there, along with false “prophetess” Heidi Baker’s lies and impartations. It is getting less and less rare to see such absurdly unbiblical and demonic nonsense at Bethel.
Heretic Patricia King got a “prophetic word” from the Lord, and Beni Johnson thought it was so good that she shared it with the Bethel Redding congregation.  False teaching spread by false teachers — go figure!  This article shows Beni sharing it, along with other examples of King’s false teachings.
Bethel Redding has in the past claimed that angel feathers have been found in their assembly.  I don’t know if they still find them, but this article shows some of foolish false teachings there.
A new false teaching has come from Bill Johnson’s apostate Bethel Church in California: SOZO – “a psycho-spiritual deliverance and inner healing methodology” (as noted by The Berean Call).  You’ve got to read this one to believe it.
This site has a lot of thorough examination of Bethel and SOZO.
Bethel Redding – Bill Johnson’s circus of aberrant and unbiblical teaching held a healing conference.  (Be sure to examine the many links at the bottom of the article which expose the false teachings of Bethel Redding.)
Bethel Music is just as dangerous as its origin.
This article includes an introduction to just who “Jesus Culture” is and what their beliefs are.
Here is a wee bit more about “Jesus Culture” and the false teaching behind them.  Ken Silva had two very interesting articles which I highly recommend.  First, he highlights Jesus Culture’s Kim Walker-Smith and her false teachings about her encounter with God and Jesus.  The other article examines the connection between Jesus Culture, their church home of Bill Johnson’s Bethel, and rank heretic and false prophet Cindy Jacobs.
JESUS CULTURE—OF BETHEL CHURCH—AND PRACTICING RAISING THE DEAD.  This article discusses Bethel, Jesus Culture, and associate pastor Kris Vallotton, exposing occultism, claims of prophetic office, false teaching, poor hermeneutics, etc.
A video — 1 hr 10 min long — exposing the theology of Jesus Culture: occultism, slain in the spirit, spiritual drunkenness, holy laughter, false signs and wonders, etc.
Jesus Culture’s Kim Walker-Smith claims to have seen God.
Additional information about Johnson and Jesus Culture, and including highlighting false prophetesses Patricia King and Cindy Jacobs and their association with Bethel.
This video demonstrates some of the occultic ideas Jesus Culture professes, including getting an imparting of the Spirit from dead people – they pray to “release the anointing of God” from the corpse of a dead man (“grave sucking”). They claim to know that God is healing someone as they speak – not just once, but at least twice in the video.  This group is dangerous to non-discerning Christians; and they are “more dangerous than bad politics.”  And don’t forget that they are a ministry of Bill Johnson’s church, which, again, demonstrates the nature of the false teaching HE propagates.

This is How the Homosexual Activists “Debate” – And This is How Democracy Dies

What debate? What democracy?

When Mark Steyn was last in Australia I of course paid close attention to what he had to say and took copious notes. One thing I recorded that especially stood out was this thought: “The Left does not want to win the debate, it wants to shut down the debate.”

That is as accurate as you can get. And I know this from firsthand experience. I have been to numerous public meetings on topics such as marriage and family either as a speaker or a listener which the radical leftists and the homosexual activists sought to shut down, disrupt, and/or turn into mayhem.

I have more than once even had to run the gauntlet, and be personally escorted into a venue by a line of police who had to keep the raging and hate-filled militants away from us. I have personally experienced being jostled and shoved by the angry activists, had things thrown at me, and abused me with all manner of foul and despicable language – all because I dared to think differently than what their agenda allows.

democracyDemocracy and freedom of speech obviously mean nothing to these leftists. They insist on their way or the highway. They do not seek debate and dialogue – they seek domination and despotism. And the irony of all this should not be lost on any of us:

-The group that shouts the most about tolerance is the least tolerant.
-The group that shouts the most about love is the least loving.
-The group that shouts the most about acceptance is the least accepting.
-The group that shouts the most about diversity is the least diverse.
-The group that shouts the most about inclusion is the least inclusive.
-The group that shouts the most about bigotry is the most bigoted.
-The group that shouts the most about hate is the most hateful.

Consider just the most recent appalling example of this. A meeting I and some others have been invited to to discuss marriage and family has had to be cancelled and relocated. Why? Because the tolerance brigade again has shown its true colours. Here is how one news report has covered this:

A ferocious campaign against Christian groups planning to meet on same-sex marriage has forced them to cancel the event at a major hotel next week, amid claims of physical threats from marriage-equality advocates.
The Accor Hotels group confirmed late yesterday that the function had been abandoned after a social media storm triggered phone calls that “rattled” employees and left the company concerned about the safety of staff and guests.
In the first test of the “civil” debate promised for a plebiscite on gay marriage, advocates for the “yes” case were being blamed last night for the kind of “hate speech” that Bill Shorten and others have claimed would come from the “no” case.
A spokeswoman for the Mercure Sydney Airport Hotel said the campaign by marriage-equality advocates had forced the company to close the hotel’s Facebook page, sparked phone calls that disturbed hotel staff and escalated the problem to the company’s headquarters. “We’ve conducted an objective review regarding the safety and security of our hotel guests and staff,” she said. “Following this review the event will no longer take place next week.”
The four Christian groups booked the hotel conference room for Tuesday to prepare for a “no” campaign in the potential plebiscite, even though Labor and the Greens appear certain to block the “people’s vote” legislation in the Senate. About 100 people were expected to attend from the Sydney Anglicans, Sydney Catholics, the Marriage Alliance and the Australian Christian Lobby.
Gay news website SameSame.com.au alerted readers to the event. Activist Pauline Pantsdown urged followers to stop the “dangerous, predatory” ACL. “Are children safe at Mercure and Accor hotels?” one post said. One follower declared it “utterly horrifying” that Accor would host the Christian groups while another accused the hotel of supporting the “hateful, deceitful and extreme” ACL.

Sadly the hotel chain caved in to the nasty threats of the activists. That of course will simply embolden the militants to keep this up in the future. They know that if they simply make their ugly, militant threats loud enough they can close down debate whenever and wherever it seeks to take place. That my friends is how democracies perish. That is how we crush freedom. That is how the police state emerges.

Before the back down by the hotel it was bombarded by the militants with nasty anti-democracy attacks. Activist Pauline Pantsdown put it this way: “It’s time to call out the ACL for the dangerous fringe group that they are. Racist groups don’t get to hold events in reputable hotels, and neither should the ACL.”

And after the cancelation the homosexual militants were ecstatic knowing they had once again managed to trash democracy and trample on freedom of speech. Trans activist Stephanie McCarthy gloated: “Perhaps the ACL could relocate to the Sydney Airport departure lounge where they can fly off to Texas where they belong.”

Feel the lurve. On the other side, a few comments from those greatly concerned about marriage, children and society are worth offering here: Columnist Miranda Devine said, “Vicious, violent and intolerant. Proof, if you needed it, that the bigotry comes from same sex marriage activists.”

And ACL boss Lyle Shelton stated, “If this is what happens to Australians who support marriage now, what will it be like if the law ever does change?” Yes quite right. We see the jackboots of rainbow tyranny clearly on display all the time here in Australia, and sham homosexual marriage has not even been legalised yet.

Just imagine how bad things will get when it does. But we don’t have to imagine – we already know perfectly well how bad things can get. In my 2014 book Dangerous Relations I documented around 170 cases of people losing their jobs, being fined, and even jailed for daring to disagree with the homosexual agenda and their attempt to destroy marriage by redefining it.

If the activists can smash democracy and stifle freedom of assembly and freedom of speech so easily now, you had better be prepared for the real oppression of Big Brother coercive utopianism when it comes following any change to the Marriage Act.

You have been warned.

Code Orange: Joyce Meyer and The Sleight-of-Hand of Experientialism

As the Heresy Olympics continue to rack up the medals of audaciousness at Elevation Church’s Code Orange Revival hosted by Steven Furtick, one of the speakers lined up to pontificate was Joyce Meyer.Joyce Meyer has spoken at Elevation Church in the recent past. In February of 2014, she spoke a carefully crafted sermon of erroneous proportions, called How You Finish. Not surprisingly Meyer is back again with another equally ill-fated message. This time, she is not only addressing just the Elevation Church crowd but everyone who is attending the Code Orange Revival and its various venues of dispersion.

As in customary fashion, Joyce Meyer delivered once again an inaccurate hermeneutical portrayal of the Word of God in this year’s Code Orange Revival event. Joyce Meyer spoke this past Monday, September 12th, 2016 for just over 60 minutes. It was during this “conversion” (I do not dare call what she spoke a sermon) in which I noticed several particular difficulties with her message. For a more detailed examination of the problems with Joyce Meyer’s message at this Code Orange Revival, please listen to the sermon review that I did over at The Cross†Roads Radio Show entitled “Experientialism of Joyce Meyer at The Code Orange Revival.”  In this review, I take a blow-by-blow look at the many errors plaguing Joyce Meyer’s presentation of late.

Since there are so many problems with what Joyce Meyer said at this event, I want to narrow down the scope of this blog post.  I would like to bring to your attention the overarching problematic theme of Joyce Meyer’s presentation at this year’s Code Orange Revival.  Joyce Meyer is exquisite at manipulating the crowd and playing with the enthusiasm and energy that she can stir up with her antidotal storytelling techniques.  It is this very ability that allows her to perform what I call “the heresy two-step.”

The heresy two-step is quite simple to perform and is more commonplace than most people realize.  All one needs to do to complete this sleight-of-hand is merely mix truth with a little bit of error. The formula of mixing truth with error is an essential practice among false teachers and those who want to deceive the body of Christ.

Joyce Meyer has used this two-step method in her presentation at this year’s Code Orange Revival event to gain the confidence of her audience. She achieves this sleight-of-hand by putting people at ease with the use of jokes and stories verse the use of actual Scripture to relay her message. When people’s guards are down, and they feel comfortable listening to the presenter, it is easy for that person to slip in a nugget of Scripture, usually done in an out of context fashion. For example, Meyer wait’s almost twelve minutes before quoting one line of Scripture. Then when she finally does give the audience scripture, it’s a twisted application of Matthew 21:18 from the Amplified Version of the Bible.

Meyer goes one step further in this sleight-of-hand two-step maneuver. She adds the promotion of experientialism. It is this use of experimentalism that becomes the main underlying themes in Meyer’s conversation. It’s the over-emphasis on the need for one’s experiences to dictate the validity of a person’s faith or even if they are a Christian or not.

Now, I am not saying that a person’s past experiences are not relevant in one’s walk with the Lord. Nor, do I deny that one’s experiences play an essential role in how a person comes to a proper understand of our Lord and Savior.

However, the problem comes in when an over-emphasis on experiences supersedes our identity of who we are in Christ.  This reversing of experiences over the Word of God, our identity in Christ and how we identify as Christians in the faith through Christ alone sets up a false dichotomy.  This misunderstanding of who we are in Christ by overrating our experiences verse what Scripture tells us who we are in Christ can lead to a dangerous outcome of a false conversion based on experientialism and not on Christ.  Sadly, a sleight-of-hand mixture of storytelling and experientialism that determines one’s Christianity was what those who listened to Joyce Meyer “preach” on Monday at the Code Orange Revival were forced to accept as a biblical message.

Andy Stanley’s Relentless Attack on Christianity and Covering His Tracks

Excellent post on Andy Stanley from Pulpit & Pen contributor, Jeff Maples:

“We’ve covered several stories on the notoriously unorthodox pastor at Northpoint Community Church, Andy Stanley. Everything from denying the Scriptural foundation of Christianity to referring to people at small churches as “stinkin’ selfish.” Stanley has made up his mind–he’s discovered a new and better Christianity, and it doesn’t rely on the Bible. He’s going to reach people, teach people, and preach to people, his fresh and new version of mere-Christianity and he’s going to do away with the old and outdated system of sound biblical doctrine, orthodox creeds, and historic confessions and teachings that the Church was built on. And nobody is going to stand in his way.

Pulpit & Pen and Polemics Report have both had telephone conversations with the staff at Northpoint, and Northpoint’s attorneys. While we–little nobodies–are doing what we can to contend for the…

Former CHC fund manager: “I was brainwashed”

You cannot separate the anti-Christian theology and cult-like system of Kong Hee’s City Harvest Church with Brian Houston’s Hillsong, David Yonggi Cho’s Yoido-Full Gospel Church, Phil Pringle’s C3 Church and Peter Wagner’s New Apostolic Reformation.

Their theology teaches that leaders at the top of these pyramid schemes see and hear directly from God. To question them is to question God. To not obey them is to directly disobey God’s direction.

Recently, former CHC fund manager, Chew Eng Han confessed at court that he was brainwashed under the leadership of Kong Hee.

Six AccusedSix accused: Chew Eng Han confesses he was brainwashed.

We have seen this abusive theology first hand at Hillsong and C3. It is a breakthrough to see Chew Eng Han come to this conclusion himself. Please pray for Chew Eng Han as he seeks professional help in detoxing from this false type of Christianity. Pray for him to hold fast…
