I think Tozer is right. This leads me to think about how some people misunderstand the passage about us being ambassadors for Christ. I wrote a post some time ago about the historical nature of the Greek term for ambassadors is not what we think of ambassadors today; and definitely not one to compromise but to herald a policy of the King and the Kingdom. It’s found here: https://veritasdomain.wordpress.com/2016/08/14/characteristics-of-an-ambassador-of-christ-part-4-an-ambassador-is-one-who-is-willing-to-suffer/
