What Do China And North Korea Think About One Another? It’s Not Good
China has a complicated relationship with North Korea, which simultaneously serves as both a strategic asset and a liability. However, it has become more the latter than the former in recent years. Break Your Sexual Stronghold With This Freeing Choice

(By Dr. Doug Weiss) I’m going to get a little theological for a moment to explain where your healing and freedom is and why. I want to share with you a revelation that helped me make sense of why I needed to confess to another person to be made free. This is why “just Jesus and I” wasn’t working, and why I couldn’t get free earlier in my life. After Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead, he visited earth a few times. He was on the road to Damascus with two men, then with ten disciples, then with eleven disciples, and then with 500 of his followers (1 Cor. 15). Now, Jesus was with 500 people prior to the medicine era. Surely there was an opportunity to heal, but there’s not one recording of the resurrected Christ doing any healing.

However, turn to the last page in the gospels and you’ll find yourself in the book of Acts, and healing is happening everywhere (Acts 3:1-10). Amazing healing miracles happened through the apostles and other believers in Jesus. Why? The healing power of Jesus transferred from the head of Christ to the body of Christ. If you wanted healing or recovery, it was (and is) found inside other believers. I had been ignorantly going to the head of Jesus for what he places in his body. CONTINUE

WAR DRUMS: US Preparing to Put Nuclear Bombers Back on 24-Hour Alert

“This is yet one more step in ensuring that we’re prepared,” Gen. David Goldfein, Air Force chief of staff, said in an interview during his six-day tour of Barksdale and other U.S. Air Force bases that support the nuclear mission. “I look at it more as not planning for any specific event, but more for the reality of the global situation we find ourselves in and how we ensure we’re prepared going forward.” READ MORE

Giant sandal-shaped stone artifacts puzzle archaeologists in Israel

Posted: 22 Oct 2017 06:09 PM PDT

They are being referred to in some circles as “the footprints of God.” But, though they a phenomenal archaeological discovery, they are actually ancient man-made stone structures, possibly dating back to the time of Joshua and the entry of the children of Israel into the Promised Land after their 40-year Exodus journey from Egypt. Found just to the east of the Jordan River, these six sandal-shaped rock structures – one bigger than two football fields in length and 228-feet wide – are getting attention, not

just from archaeologists, but increasingly from the Israeli public.  Perhaps the most famous of these sites is one found on Mount Ebal. Its unique feature is a massive altar found in the center measuring about 23 feet by 30 feet in size and a story high. Charred animal bones and ash were found in and around the altar. Adam Zertal, the archaeologist who discovered the site, believes this is the altar Joshua created when Israel first entered the Promised Land. He believes he may be the one mentioned in the Bible (Joshua 8:30). READ MORE

Could Kim Jong-un unleash killer plague in shock biowarfare attack?

North Korea is feared to be preparing for World War 3 by weaponizing the Black Death for use in a biological warfare attack. A chilling new report claims Kim Jong-un‘s regime could unleash the plague, cholera and other diseases across the US and South Korea. The document, by Harvard University’s Belfer Centre, says Pyongyang may use missiles, drones or planes to spread the deadly viruses. And it warns preparation against the devastating threat of biological warfare is “urgent and necessary”.

North Korea is thought to already have 13 pathogens in its weaponry, the researchers said, including anthrax, smallpox and yellow fever. And scientists are feared to be weaponizing the viruses in top-secret labs across the war-crazed rogue state. The report states: “While nuclear programs can be monitored by the number of nuclear tests and the success of missile tests, weaponizing and cultivating pathogens can stay invisible behind closed doors. READ MORE

The supersonic bombers, which cost more than a quarter of a billion each, flew low over Seoul Air Base for eight minutes.  The brazen show of force follows weeks of bellicose rhetoric from Kim and Trump, who threatened to “totally destroy” North Korea if force to do so.

Trump is amassing warships in the region, including aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan, amid fears Kim may test another nuclear weapon or ballistic missile.  US war drills were ramped up this week as warships fired a barrage of shells into the sky during joint exercises with South Korea.  Today Trump showcased his air capability, with his bombers conducting air-to-surface missile firing drills before appearing at the airshow in Seoul.  READ MORE

Germany Begins Full Censorship Of Social Media Outlets

Posted: 21 Oct 2017 05:54 PM PDT

A new German law introducing state censorship on social media platforms came into effect on October 1, 2017. The new law requires social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, to censor their users on behalf of the German state. Social media companies are obliged to delete or block any online “criminal offenses” such as libel, slander, defamation or incitement, within 24 hours of receipt of a user complaint — regardless of whether or the content is accurate or not. Social media companies

receive seven days for more complicated cases. If they fail to do so, the German government can fine them up to 50 million euros for failing to comply with the law. This state censorship makes free speech subject to the arbitrary decisions of corporate entities that are likely to censor more than absolutely necessary, rather than risk a crushing fine. When employees of social media companies are appointed as the state’s private thought police and given the power to shape the form of current political and cultural discourse by deciding who shall be allowed to speak and what to say, READ MORE

A new app available in North Carolina will ship birth control to minors

There’s a new controversy brewing.over an app that gives online access to birth control, even to pre-teen girls. Monique Green said she was shocked to learn her teenage girls could receive birth control without a parent’s consent. “She had the right to tell them and not tell me and so that really made me say ‘wow,’” said Green. It’s called Nurx. It doesn’t cost anything to use. You just answer some medical question

inside the app and provide payment by credit card. Nurx employee Maryam Fikri says they are only trying to help young women. “Despite the current political landscape, we are providing another option to make it easier and more affordable and more convenient to access contraception,” said Fikri. Even someone as young as 12 can be considered for contraceptives. Monique Green wanted to check it out herself. READ MORE

Millennials are ditching religion for witchcraft and astrology

When Coco Layne, a Brooklyn-based producer, meets someone new these days, the first question that comes up in conversation isn’t “Where do you live?” or “What do you do?” but “What’s your sign?” “So many millennials read their horoscopes every day and believe them,” Layne, who is involved in a number of nonreligious spiritual practices, said. “It is a good reference point to identify and place people in the world.” Interest in spirituality has been booming in recent years while interest in religion

plummets, especially among millennials. The majority of Americans now believe it is not necessary to believe in God to have good morals, a study from Pew Research Center released Wednesday found. The percentage of people between the ages of 18 and 29 who “never doubt existence of God” fell from 81% in 2007 to 67% in 2012. Meanwhile, more than half of young adults in the U.S. believe astrology is a science. compared to less than 8% of the Chinese public. The psychic services industry — READ MORE

Could North Korea Launch Cyber Attack Against US Defense Ships?

Posted: 21 Oct 2017 05:34 PM PDT

North Korea could launch a deadly missile attack on the US with the help of sophisticated hackers who could disable Trump’s heralded defense system, a cybersecurity expert has warned. Matt Morris, vice president of NexDefense, told Express.co.uk hackers from North Korea, Russia and China are now capable of adjusting US Navy ships’ GPS, sending them on a collision course with other vessels.

As well as causing confusion and chaos on board, these hacking attacks could have a far deadlier result if a ship boasting anti-missile systems was targeted. If done quickly enough, these ships could be moved from key locations, leaving North Korea with an open shot at enemy states. Mr Morris said: “These ships depend pretty heavily on GPS. The GPS was essentially telling them they were on course when in fact they were in a completely different location. READ MORE

Communities on edge after latest massive earthquake on “Ring of Fire”

Communities across Indonesia, Vanuatu and southwestern Japan are on edge after more rumblings from the earthquake and volcano hotbed dubbed the Ring of Fire. An earthquake struck Japan on Wednesday and was quickly followed by the latest eruption of Mount Sinabung in Indonesia – the latest incident in a worrying increase of seismic activity in the volatile region.

The 6.1 magnitude quake struck off Japan’s Ryukyu Islands at around 6pm local time, according to the United States Geological Survey. Early reports suggested there were no damage or casualties but the shaking was reported on inhabited islands nearest to the epicentre. The tremors come just days after the Shinmoedake volcano in southwestern Japan started erupting for the first time in about six years. READ MORE

Typhoon Lan to strike Japan with 50-mile wide eye!

Typhoon Lan, a storm with an eye 50 miles wide, is expected to lash parts of Japan with intense wind and rain, the country’s meteorological office has warned. Currently, west of Okinawa, the typhoon is traveling north towards mainland Japan. According to forecasts by the Japan Meteorological Agency, the “large” storm will barrel across the nation on Sunday before subsiding on October 23. NASA imagery

reveals the huge scale of the typhoon, with pictures taken by the Suomi NPP satellite revealing powerful thunderstorms swirling around an eye 50 nautical miles in diameter. The US space agency stated that on October 20, Lan’s wind speed reached a whopping 115 miles per hour. It clarified in a later tweet that the weather system has not been designated a “superstorm”. READ MORE

Air Force could recall up to 1,000 retired pilots after Executive Order by Trump

Posted: 21 Oct 2017 05:15 PM PDT

The Air Force could recall up to 1,000 retired pilots after President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at addressing what the Pentagon has described as an “acute shortage of pilots.” The order, which Trump signed Friday, amends an emergency declaration signed by George W. Bush after the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks. Under current law, the Air Force is limited to recalling just 25 pilots. The order signed by Trump temporarily removes that cap for all branches of the military. A Pentagon spokesman,

Navy Cmdr. Gary Ross, said in a statement that the Air Force is currently “short approximately 1,500 pilots of its requirements.” “We anticipate that the Secretary of Defense will delegate the authority to the Secretary of the Air Force to recall up to 1,000 retired pilots for up to 3 years,” Ross said. “The pilot supply shortage is a national level challenge that could have adverse effects on all aspects of both the government and commercial aviation sectors for years to come.” READ MORE

Christian Baker May Be Forced To Bake Cake For Satan

As you see, the birthday cake in question is to celebrate the birthday of Lucifer, or as they (sic) are also known Satan who was born as Satan when he was cast from heaven by God.” The email also asks for an “upside down cross, under the head of Lucifer.” The Daily Signal says that Phillips has told the media outlet and others that his Christian beliefs do not allow him to make cakes which celebrate same-sex unions and those that include themes of witchcraft and graphic sexuality. READ MORE

Man attempted suicide ‘went to HELL and was told to change by Jesus’

ATTENTION: The following views expressed in this testimony does not necessarily reflect those of End Time Headlines

A man who attempted suicide claims he saw hell and was told to clean up his life or “this is where you will spend eternity”. Matthew Devalle has died twice within his lifetime – once when he was 12 in a swimming accident, and decades later when he attempted to take his own life. The first experience came in his youth where Mr Devalle attempted to swim the length of a pool underwater, where he accidentally inhaled and died. In an interview with ABC television, Mr Devalle said: “The instant I took a breath underwater, a white light engulfed me. I was completely happy to be in this place, and I just wanted more. And out of the middle of the light came an individual, just a beautiful creature. “There was Jesus Christ, and he grabbed me by the wrist and said you’ve got to go back. Then I woke up on the side of the pool.” READ MORE

Should Christians Celebrate Halloween? Question Spawns Heated Debate

Posted: 21 Oct 2017 06:02 AM PDT

(Reported By Billy Hallowell) Should Christians celebrate Halloween? That’s a controversial question with the power to spark intense debate among the faithful. After all, some see the holiday as rooted in evil, inappropriate and simply unworthy of being celebrated by believers. Others, though, have no qualms about partaking in the more fun-filled and benign aspects. Pastor Mark Driscoll, formerly of Mars Hill Church, recently tackled this question in a video he uploaded to his website. Driscoll primarily argued that, rather than immediately jumping to a “yes” or “no” response, it’s essential for believers to turn to prayer for guidance on how to

observe holidays like Halloween, as The Christian Post reported. “These are the three options – receive, reject, or redeem,” he argued. “You may be wanting me to tell you ‘yes’ or ‘no,’ but I really think this is something to study through, to pray through.”Of his own experience, Driscoll said he and his wife initially rejected Halloween, though he said they eventually moved into the “redeem” stage, encouraging Christians to ask themselves how they can stay faithful to their beliefs while still loving people as they observe certain calendar events. READ MORE

Australian Churches Vandalized by Same-Sex ‘Marriage’ Supporters

Posted: 21 Oct 2017 05:58 AM PDT

Christians who hold a biblical view of marriage are “bigots” and should be ‘crucified’, according to same-sex marriage supporters who vandalized churches in Australia. Last week, two churches in Melbourne were daubed with graffiti including a Nazi swastika. It is the latest in a string of reports of abuse suffered by marriage supporters in the country. In recent weeks, a mother received death threats and a Christian lost her job simply for expressing opposition to the redefinition of marriage.

Pastor Drew Mellor of Glen Waverley Anglican Church said the graffiti left older parishioners fearing for their safety. Following the incident, the church released a lengthy statement outlining their belief in a biblical view on marriage – that it is the union of one man and one woman. And David O’ Brien, Senior Pastor of Waverley Baptist Church (the other church that was vandalized), said the incident was “disturbing and concerning”. READ MORE

What is The Gospel?

Who Do You Think That I Am?

Selected Scriptures

Code: A335

With that brief question Jesus Christ confronted His followers with the most important issue they would ever face. He had spent much time with them and made some bold claims about His identity and authority. Now the time had come for them either to believe or deny His teachings.

Who do you say Jesus is? Your response to Him will determine not only your values and lifestyle, but your eternal destiny as well.

Consider what the Bible says about Him:

While Jesus was on earth there was much confusion about who He was. Some thought He was a wise man or a great prophet. Others thought He was a madman. Still others couldn’t decide or didn’t care. But Jesus said, “I and the Father are one” (John 10:30). That means He claimed to be nothing less than God in human flesh.

Many people today don’t understand that Jesus claimed to be God. They’re content to think of Him as little more than a great moral teacher. But even His enemies understood His claims to deity. That’s why they tried to stone Him to death (John 5:18; 10:33) and eventually had Him crucified (John 19:7).

C.S. Lewis observed, “You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come up with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to” (Mere Christianity [Macmillan, 1952], pp. 40-41).

If the biblical claims of Jesus are true, He is God!

God is absolutely and perfectly holy (Isaiah 6:3), therefore He cannot commit or approve of evil (James 1:13).

As God, Jesus embodied every element of God’s character. Colossians 2:9 says, “In Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form.” He was perfectly holy (Hebrews 4:15). Even His enemies couldn’t prove any accusation against Him (John 8:46)

God requires holiness of us as well. First Peter 1:16 says, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”

Our failure to obey God—to be holy—places us in danger of eternal punishment (2 Thessalonians 1:9). The truth is, we cannot obey Him because we have neither the desire nor the ability to do so. We are by nature rebellious toward God (Ephesians 2:1-3). The Bible calls our rebellion “sin.” According to Scripture, everyone is guilty of sin: “There is no man who does not sin” (1 Kings 8:46). “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). And we are incapable of changing our sinful condition. Jeremiah 13:23 says, “Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Neither can you do good who are accustomed to doing evil.”

That doesn’t mean we’re incapable of performing acts of human kindness. We might even be involved in various religious or humanitarian activities. But we’re utterly incapable of understanding, loving, or pleasing God on our own. The Bible says, “There is none righteous, not even one; there is none who understands, there is none who seeks for God; all have turned aside, together they have become useless; there is none who does good, there is not even one” (Romans 3:10-12).

God’s holiness and justice demand that all sin be punished by death: “The soul who sins will die” (Ezekiel 18:4). That’s hard for us to understand because we tend to evaluate sin on a relative scale, assuming some sins are less serious than others. However, the Bible teaches that all acts of sin are the result of sinful thinking and evil desires. That’s why simply changing our patterns of behavior can’t solve our sin problem or eliminate its consequences. We need to be changed inwardly so our thinking and desires are holy

Jesus is the only one who can forgive and transform us, thereby delivering us from the power and penalty of sin: “There is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Even though God’s justice demands death for sin, His love has provided a Savior, who paid the penalty and died for sinners: “Christ … died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God” (1 Peter 3:18). Christ’s death satisfied the demands of God’s justice, thereby enabling Him to forgive and save those who place their faith in Him (Romans 3:26). John 3:16 says, “God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.” He alone is “our great God and Savior” (Titus 2:13).

Some people think it doesn’t matter what you believe as long as you’re sincere. But without a valid object your faith is useless

If you take poison—thinking it’s medicine—all the faith in the world won’t restore your life. Similarly, if Jesus is the only source of salvation, and you’re trusting in anyone or anything else for your salvation, your faith is useless.

Many people assume there are many paths to God and that each religion represents an aspect of truth. But Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me” (John 14:6). He didn’t claim to be one of many equally legitimate paths to God, or the way to God for His day only. He claimed to be the only way to God—then and forever.

Contemporary thinking says man is the product of evolution. But the Bible says we were created by a personal God to love, serve, and enjoy endless fellowship with Him

The New Testament reveals it was Jesus Himself who created everything (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16). Therefore He also owns and rules everything (Psalm 103:19). That means He has authority over our lives and we owe Him absolute allegiance, obedience, and worship.

Romans 10:9 says, “If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.” Confessing Jesus as Lord means humbly submitting to His authority (Philippians 2:10-11). Believing that God has raised Him from the dead involves trusting in the historical fact of His resurrection—the pinnacle of Christian faith and the way the Father affirmed the deity and authority of the Son (Romans 1:4; Acts 17:30-31).

True faith is always accompanied by repentance from sin. Repentance is more than simply being sorry for sin. It is agreeing with God that you are sinful, confessing your sins to Him, and making a conscious choice to turn from sin and pursue holiness (Isaiah 55:7). Jesus said, “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments” (John 14:15); and “If you abide in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine” (John 8:31).

It isn’t enough to believe certain facts about Christ. Even Satan and his demons believe in the true God (James 2:19), but they don’t love and obey Him. Their faith is not genuine. True saving faith always responds in obedience (Ephesians 2:10).

Jesus is the sovereign Lord. When you obey Him you are acknowledging His lordship and submitting to His authority. That doesn’t mean your obedience will always be perfect, but that is your goal. There is no area of your life that you withhold from Him.

All who reject Jesus as their Lord and Savior will one day face Him as their Judge: “God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead” (Acts 17:30-31).

Second Thessalonians 1:7-9 says, “The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. And these will pay the penalty of eternal destruction, away from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power.”

Who does the Bible say Jesus is? The living God, the Holy One, the Savior, the only valid object of saving faith, the sovereign Lord, and the righteous Judge.

Who do you say Jesus is? That is the inescapable question. He alone can redeem you—free you from the power and penalty of sin. He alone can transform you, restore you to fellowship with God, and give your life eternal purpose. Will you repent and believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior?

How The Elite Dominate The World

How The Elite Dominate The World – Part 1: Debt As A Tool Of Enslavement

Throughout human history, those in the ruling class have found various ways to force those under them to work for their economic benefit.  But in our day and age, we are willingly enslaving ourselves.  The borrower is the servant of the lender, and there has never been more debt in our world than there is right now.  According to the Institute of International Finance, global debt has hit the 217 trillion dollar mark, although other estimates would put this number far higher.  Of course everyone knows that our planet is drowning in debt, but most people never stop to consider who owns all of this debt.  This unprecedented debt bubble represents that greatest transfer of wealth in human history, and those that are being enriched are the extremely wealthy elitists at the very, very top of the food chain. (Read More…)

How The Elite Dominate The World – Part 2: 99.9% Of The Global Population Lives In A Country With A Central Bank

Even though the nations of the world are very deeply divided on almost everything else, somehow virtually all of them have been convinced that central banking is the way to go.  Today, less than 0.1% of the population of the world lives in a country that does not have a central bank.  Do you think that there is any possible way that this is a coincidence?  And it is also not a coincidence that we are now facing the greatest debt bubble in the history of the world.  In Part I of this series, I discussed the fact that total global debt has reached 217 trillion dollars.  Once you understand that central banks are designed to create endless debt, and once you understand that 99.9% of the global population lives in a country that has a central bank, then it finally makes sense why we have accumulated so much debt.  The elite of the world use debt as a tool of enslavement, and central banking has allowed them to literally enslave the entire planet. (Read More…)

How The Elite Dominate The World – Part 3: 90% Of What You Watch On Television Is Controlled By Just 6 Giant Corporations

How much is your view of the world shaped by what you see on television?  On average, Americans spend more than 150 hours watching television every month, and it is called “programming” for a reason.  If you allow anyone to pour ideas and information into your mind for five hours a day, it is going to change how you look at reality.  Everyone has an agenda, and every single news program, television show and movie is trying to alter your views.  Sadly, our society has become absolutely addicted to media, and the mainstream media is completely dominated by the elite.  In fact, about 90 percent of the programming that comes through your television is controlled by just 6 gigantic media corporations.  Most of us are willingly plugging ourselves into this “propaganda matrix” that is completely dominated by the elite for several hours each day, and that gives them an enormous amount of power over the rest of us. (Read More…)

How The Elite Dominate The World – Part 4: They Buy Politicians, And Incumbents Almost Always Win

Once we wake up to how the game is being played, then we will have a real shot at changing things.  For decades, the elite have been pulling the strings behind the scenes in both major political parties.  That is why nothing has ever seemed to change very much no matter which party has been in power.  The agenda of the elite has always seemed to march forward, and ordinary people like us have always been frustrated that we can’t seem to make a difference.  But now a shift seems to be taking place.  Donald Trump took on the establishment in both major parties, and he miraculously won the presidency.  Down in Alabama, the elite spent more than 30 million dollars to defeat Roy Moore, and he still defeated Luther Strange.  A political awakening is taking place, and I can’t wait to see what happens during the mid-term elections in 2018. John MacArthur on the Reformation and the Word of God

Code: B171023

This month marks the five hundredth anniversary of Martin Luther nailing his Ninety-Five Theses to the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany—an event commonly cited as the flash point of the Protestant Reformation. Believers around the world are celebrating the legacies of Luther and the other Reformers, who worked to recover the true gospel from the dogma and tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.

But how had the gospel of Christ been obscured for so long? How did the Roman Catholic Church gain and maintain such spiritual dominance over people? And how did the light of God’s truth finally break through such pervasive darkness?

We put those questions to John MacArthur. Here’s what he had to say:

We rightly credit men like Luther, Zwingli, Calvin, and Knox for their roles in recovering and proclaiming the truth of God’s Word. But the power of the Catholic Church was stifled by Scripture itself, as God’s people came face-to-face with the truth of His Word. The pope and the priesthood, along with Catholic dogma and tradition, were exposed as untrustworthy and unbiblical intermediaries between God and man. In the light of God’s Word, their satanic lies were laid bare.

Today, we worship and serve in the long line of faithful believers who held to the authority, inerrancy, and sufficiency of Scripture. This line includes the heroes of church history who helped recover the gospel of salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. If not for the work of those faithful servants, we might still be living under the dark dominion of Catholic lies today.

More on that next time.

To Defeat Your Sin, Look at Jesus

Strategies abound for dealing with sin.

There are mountains of books to help us develop habits to stop lying, beat various addictions, control our thoughts, grow in generosity, or develop contentedness. A quick Google search will reveal list upon list of verses about sexual purity, anger, worry, unbelief, idolatry, business ethics—any area you can think of where Christians struggle to live the way God call us to live.

By all means, read the books and memorize the verses. Many of them have been extremely helpful to large numbers of people. Bad habits do indeed need to be replaced with good ones. I’m not anti-strategy.

What we need to recognize, however, is that all these books and verses, and any other helpful tools, are just that—tools. They are not a cure. You will not suddenly cease to be tempted by porn just because you read Every Man’s Battle. You can memorize every verse in the Bible about financial responsibility and still be addicted to gambling. And those struggling with homosexuality cannot just “pray the gay away.”

Ultimately, focusing on sin will not rid you of it. It is Jesus Christ who saves, not books, tools, or strategies. No matter how deeply you understand the nature of your sin, you cannot rescue yourself from its power.

Jesus Changes Lives

The good news of the gospel is that Jesus changes lives. It’s a statement of unbelief to say you can’t stop or that you can’t change. It’s true that you can’t change yourself. But “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

As new creations, we’re not to manage our sin, but to cease from it: “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires” (Romans 13:14). We don’t focus on our sin as if we can defeat it through the right strategic approach. Instead, we focus on the One who has already done all that is necessary for its defeat and our redemption.

Christian, know what you are forgiven for, but most of all love the One who forgives you.
Click To Tweet

Jesus isn’t satisfied with simply eradicating this or that particular sin—he demands our whole lives. He didn’t die and rise from the dead just to save you from pornography or gambling or your bad temper. It is too easy for us to think and act as if a homosexual would be just fine if only they were straight, but that isn’t what the Bible says. Sin runs deeper than mere actions. All mankind is opposed to God and needs the redeeming power of the blood of Christ and his reconciling peace.

Love Motivates Holiness

Christian, know what you are forgiven for, but most of all love the One who forgives you. The Bible tells us we have forgiveness of sin through him. Jesus said whoever has been forgiven much loves much (Luke 7:47). We need to be aware of our sin, but not for its own sake; instead, awareness of sin drives us to repentance, to holiness, and to love the One who forgave us:

Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! (Romans 7:24-25)

…let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:1b-2, NASB)

But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13-14)

The Goal Is Jesus

If you are focused on your sin, you will run as one being chased. You will always be looking over your shoulder, and you may be overtaken. To win the race, focus on the goal—but the goal isn’t defeating your sin. The goal is Jesus Christ, who has already defeated it.

So cast yourself upon Jesus. Be conscious and deliberate about following and worshipping him in all things. Ask for his help. Pray without ceasing. Pursue him wholeheartedly in everything you do, for it is he, not you, who conquers sin.

Why millennials are ditching religion for witchcraft and astrology

From Berean Research:

In our White Paper Sorcery – Occult, we advise:

The Bible details the occult practices that are expressly forbidden by God. He banned sorcery then and He bans it now. Moreover, those who practice these sorts of things are an abomination – detestable. In the case of the Israelites all charms for diseases, all amulets or spells to prevent evil, fortune-telling (looking into the future), contacting the dead – any of the magic arts were considered wicked.

It matters not what others do, what does matter is what God says:

There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the LORD. And because of these abominations the LORD your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the LORD your God, for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the LORD your God has not allowed you to do this (Deuteronomy 18:10-14). (emphases added)

While interest in religion is waning, witchcraft and astrology are becoming more and more normalized, especially among millennials.  Kari Paul’s article appears in MarketWatch.

When Coco Layne, a Brooklyn-based producer, meets someone new these days, the first question that comes up in conversation isn’t “Where do you live?” or “What do you do?” but “What’s your sign?”

“So many millennials read their horoscopes every day and believe them,” Layne, who is involved in a number of nonreligious spiritual practices, said. “It is a good reference point to identify and place people in the world.”

Hollywood’s Plunge into the Bottomless Pit

We cannot log into our electronic media without seeing the face of film producer Harvey Weinstein on almost every news site; likewise, that chubby face is all over TV news stations and magazine covers. The photo of Weinstein, unshaven for several days with a diabolical look in his eyes, is everywhere. Why? Because the Hellywood (not a typo) mogul has been accused by a growing number of actresses and models of everything from sexual harassment to rape. Most of you are aware of the crimes this man allegedly committed so I won’t rehash it here. Those who haven’t heard the story can do a Google search. But before you dig in, take an antacid.

One last thing before I get to my point. According to reports, pretty much everyone in Hellywood was aware of Weinstein’s, now admitted to, reprehensible treatment of women and chose not to out him. Victims didn’t spill the beans because attorneys on Harvey’s payroll paid them big bucks for their silence. Oh to be filthy rich, a powerful studio executive, and recipient of an Academy Award!

Now to my point. For several years I’ve exposed the ways in which the Hellywood elites sexualize tweens and teens (articles below). Back in 2011 I wrote a piece entitled “Tinseltown’s on a mission to sexualize young girls” that came to mind when Harvey Weinstein became the big story. I realized that, although it was written six years ago, it contains information that is pertinent today. So rather than writing a new piece on Tinseltown, I’m re-posting a chunk of my old piece with minor changes. The re-post has nothing to do with the disgraced Hellywood producer. It’s not even about the entertainment industry’s plunge into the bottomless pit.  No. I’m going to address the collateral damage that invariably occurs when a nation loses its moral compass. Who suffers? You guessed it. Children. Not knowing any better, kids dive right into the pit with their heroes.

I’ll begin from the beginning:

Wholesome teen star “Hannah Montana”

By Marsha West

There are some disturbing things going on right under parents’ noses.  Their daughters are being sexualized by Hollywood elites who would sell their soul to the devil (perhaps they have) to make a buck and/or to win a coveted Oscar, Emmy, or Golden Globe award.  Life is so about them!

This will come as no surprise to anyone: The Parents TV Council (PTC) report entitled “Sexualized Teen Girls: Tinsel Town’s New Target” provides proof that many in the media have their sights set on young girls for the purpose of sexualizing them.

Have these people completely lost their moral compass?  Have they no shame?  Yes and no.  They are immoral, shameless, child exploiters who could care less who they hurt as long as the ratings remain high and they receive that big paycheck.  And, quite honestly, in our wicked, depraved, immoral culture, sex sells.

These are the major findings in PTC’s 2011 report:

  • Underage female characters are shown participating in a higher percentage of sexual depictions compared to adults (47% and 29% respectively)
  • Only 5% of the underage female characters communicated any form of dislike for being sexualized (excluding scenes depicting healthy sexuality).
  • Out of all the sexualized female characters depicted in the underage and young adult category for the entire database, 86% were presented as only being of high school age.
  • Seventy-five percent of shows that included sexualized underage female characters were shows that did not have an “S” descriptor to warn parents about the sexual content
  • Based upon a definition established by the American Psychological Association of “healthy” vs. “unhealthy” sexuality, the study findings show that 93% of the sexual incidents involving underage female characters occurred within a context that qualified as “unhealthy.”
  • The data revealed that 98% of the sexual incidents involving underage female characters occurred outside of any form of a committed relationship.
  • The data show that 73% of the underage sexualized incidents were presented in a humorous manner or as a punch line to a joke.

Here’s what struck me: 93% of the sexual incidents involving underage female characters occurred within a context that the APA would qualify as unhealthy. What is wrong with film makers?  Oh I remember — they have no souls.

“The results from this report show Tinseltown’s eagerness to not only objectify and fetishize young girls, but to sexualize them in such a way that real teens are led to believe their sole value comes from their sexuality. This report is less about the shocking numbers that detail the sickness of early sexualization in our entertainment culture, and more about the generation of young girls who are being told how society expects them to behave.” [Bold mine.]

Miley now.

I’m reminded of Miley Cyrus’ appalling behavior. Young Miley went from a teeny bopper role model to teen vixen overnight. Recently we saw Miss Cyrus on a YouTube.com video inhaling Silvia from a bong. Silvia is a legal mild hallucinogenic drug that can produce visions. This is not about Miley, though. It’s about all young girls. According to PTC:

“Storylines on the most popular shows among teens are sending the message to our daughters that being sexualized isn’t just acceptable, it should be sought after. It is outrageous that TV executives have made it their business to profit off of programs that depict teen girls blissfully being sexualized by casual partners and only showing disapproval for being sexualized five percent of the time.”

As a result of becoming sexualized at a young age a large number of teens are having casual sex.  What many of them are unaware of is that sleeping around can be hazardous to one’s health. Those who have sex with multiple partners are far more likely to contract a deadly disease such as HIV/AIDS, human papillomavirus (genital warts or HPV), genital herpes, chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphilis.  Information on how to prevent diseases can be obtained on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.  Some preventative measures recommended by the CDC are:  Abstain from sexual activity; use a condom; long-term monogamous relationships.

The only way to prevent disease is by abstaining from sexual relations.  Using a condom for protection does not provide100% effectiveness against some STDs.  This may explain why 25% of American teenage girls ages 14-19 have at least one STD.  Many teens are unaware that there is no treatment or cure for HPV.

How ironic that the entertainment industry sexualizes young people and then turns around and advises them to practice safe sex!  Is the liberal Hollywood elite so ignorant that they don’t understand that the so-called safetymeasures aren’t safe?

And we wonder why we have an STD epidemic in this country.  Hello!

The truth is, Tinseltown does not give a hoot that sexualizing young girls impacts their emotional development.  Will someone please give them the memo that:

“In February 2007, the American Psychological Association released a report on the sexualization of girls which found that girls’ exposure to hyper-sexualized media content negatively impacts their cognitive and emotional development; was strongly associated with eating disorders, low self-esteem and depression; fewer girls pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics; and diminished sexual health.”

“We have ample evidence to conclude that sexualization has negative effects in a variety of domains, including cognitive functioning, physical and mental health, and healthy sexual development,” said Dr Eileen Zurbriggen, Chair of the APA Task Force.

“The consequences of the sexualization of girls in media today are very real and are likely to be a negative influence on girls’ healthy development.”

Does that not make your blood boil?  Where are the women’s rights groups on this terrible news?  Specifically, where is the National Organization for Women (NOW)?  They are the self-styled defenders of the female gender, are they not?  We now know that exposing girls to sex at a young age is psychologically damaging.  Feelings of shame, anxiety and depression result.  Depression hurts!  Eating disorders destroy lives!  Yet NOW is MIA.

It seems clear that radical feminists only care about our daughters when it comes to ensuring their “right” to abort an unwanted pre-born baby.

You may be wondering if the hyper-sexualization of our culture affects males.  The answer is…

“It’s not just our daughters that are being affected by these images. Boys and adult men are also learning to value women only for their sex appeal, leading to increased incidents of sexual harassment, sexual violence, and increased demand for child pornography.”

Just for the record, Christians will have to stand before a holy God and explain why they stood by and did nothing while our children were used and abused by people who do the work of Satan in tempting others to sin.  Jesus warned:

“But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea” (Mat 18:6).

Clarke’s commentary on the Bible explains what this means:

“It would be better for him to have died before he had committed the sin. To injure, or to cause to sin, the feeblest Christian, will be regarded by Christ as a most serious offence, and will be punished accordingly.”

Bottom line: God punishes sin.  Adults who exploit or injure children emotionally or physically will face His wrath.

For over four decades children have been saturated with Tinseltown’s liberal propaganda while most parents and grandparents said nary a word.  Today many of the movies and TV programs kids watch are infecting their minds with the far left’s ideology of moral relativism and political correctness, and so-called conservative parents don’t bat an eye.  Why?  The sort of stuff kids fill their minds with helps form their worldview!

Clearly our country is experiencing an assault against conservative values and principles.  The cat is out of the bag….the Left is doing everything in their power to transform people’s minds. They want to radically and unrecognizably transform America!

The transformation of America is a topic for another time, so I’ll move on.

Those who wish to save our children from those who are filling their minds with toxic garbage must be willing to turn back the clock to a time when America still had a moral compass — when young women were valued for more than just their bodies.  There’s no other choice.   It’s do, or die.

One more point and then I’ll move on.  Sadly, many entertainment executives, advertisers, and high paid actors continue to push the envelope.  It seems these degenerates won’t be satisfied until our younger generation is wallowing in unbridled hedonism.  And they’ll continue pushing the envelope until conservative people of faith man-up and put a stop to it.

October 23, 2017: Verse of the day

The Lord’s Covenant of Peace

25 “I will make with them a covenant of peace and banish wild beasts from the land, so that they may dwell securely in the wilderness and sleep in the woods. 26 And I will make them and the places all around my hill a blessing, and I will send down the showers in their season; they shall be showers of blessing. 27 And the trees of the field shall yield their fruit, and the earth shall yield its increase, and they shall be secure in their land. And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I break the bars of their yoke, and deliver them from the hand of those who enslaved them. 28 They shall no more be a prey to the nations, nor shall the beasts of the land devour them. They shall dwell securely, and none shall make them afraid. 29 And I will provide for them renowned plantations so that they shall no more be consumed with hunger in the land, and no longer suffer the reproach of the nations. 30 And they shall know that I am the Lord their God with them, and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Lord God. 31 And you are my sheep, human sheep of my pasture, and I am your God, declares the Lord God.” [1]

34:25–31 / Many have also seen this glowing description of restoration after the exile as a later expansion to the text. The language is awkward (note, e.g., the repeated recognition formulae, vv. 27, 30), suggesting that Ezekiel or an editor has revised and expanded this passage (and all of vv. 11–31).

The terms and imagery in this passage are priestly, as we would expect from either the prophet or his priestly editors. Verse 25 describes God’s covenant with Israel as a covenant of peace (see also 37:26, and Isa. 54:10, likely influenced by the use of this expression in Ezekiel)—the expression that also refers to the covenant of eternal priesthood the Lord made with Phineas at BaalPeor (Num. 25:12). God’s new covenant with Israel will be eternal and unbreakable, unlike the first (see the discussion of 16:59–63). The imagery of the restoration in verses 25–31 is likewise priestly, drawn from the promises in the Holiness Code regarding the life God intends for Israel in the land (Lev. 26:3–13; Odell, Ezekiel, p. 429). So, God will banish wild beasts from the land, so that one may lie down anywhere, even in the desert or in the forests, and be safe (vv. 25, 28; compare Lev. 26:6, and see the Additional Note on 14:15). They will be safe from foreign nations (vv. 27–29; compare Lev. 26:6–8). God will send showers in season; there will be showers of blessing (v. 26; compare Lev. 26:4), yielding abundant crops (vv. 27, 29; compare Lev. 26:4–5). Most of all, however, the Lord says, “they will know that I, the Lord their God, am with them and that they, the house of Israel, are my people, declares the Sovereign Lord” (v. 30; see also v. 26, and compare Lev. 26:11–12). This promise of divine presence, bringing life and fruitfulness, will be an important feature of the third vision of the Lord’s Glory, the climax of these oracles of hope (see 43:7a; 47:1–12). Whether Ezekiel or his editors penned verses 25–31, the message is consistent with the vision of the entire book.[2]

25–30 The covenant formula used in v 24aα triggers a fresh development, which is also meant as an interpretative unfolding of “my sheep,” a key term in the first two oracles, and so as a reassuring delineation of Yahweh’s commitment to them. The relationship is now set to a different tune, the blessings of Lev 26:4–13 (see the table in Baltzer, Ezechiel 156–157). It is not difficult to trace a very close connection with it, especially 26:4–6, 13. Yet the borrowing is not slavish but creative. The blessings are relayed via a double, parallel scheme of banished dangers relating to wild animals, famine and the nations respectively. The expanded recognition formula of vv 27b–28aα has been inspired by the self-introduction formula of Lev 26:13, with the old Exodus achievement reapplied to future liberation in a manner reminiscent of v 13a earlier. There is thus a sensitivity to the previous material in this chapter: the danger of being eaten by beasts corresponds to the metaphor of vv 5, 8 and the provision of fertility to the good pasture of vv 14, 18, while sheep imagery lingers in v 25b (cf. Mic 5:3[4]b). The accent on political and psychological inferiority to other nations, while in the first case echoing Lev 26 and interpreting the “prey” metaphor of vv 8, 22, also sympathetically responds to keenly felt exilic (and post-exilic) concerns. The prophetic assurance is that Yahweh was able and willing to resolve these and the other problems. The double presentation of promises of Yahweh’s sufficiency is set in a covenantal framework, in vv 25aα and 30. As the latter verse implies, the realization of covenant blessings would bring with them a proof of the bond between Yahweh and his people.

31 In a summarizing climax to the unit, readers are warmly (“you,” “your”) reminded of the pervading metaphor by an echo of the phrase “the sheep that I tend” from Jer 23:1, part of the passage that underlies vv 2–16. They are reminded too of the precious reality behind the metaphor, the covenant bond between them and Yahweh, in a recapitulating echo of vv 24a and 30.[3]

34:25–31 The security and prosperity of God’s flock during the future reign of Christ are described here. Under a covenant of peace (v. 25) there shall be showers of blessing (v. 26) and a garden of renown (v. 29).

The ideal form of government is a beneficent, absolute monarchy with Christ as King.[4]

34:25 covenant of peace. Refers to the New Covenant of Jer 31:31–34 (cf. 37:26) in full operation during the millennial kingdom. harmful beasts. This refers to actual animals that will be tamed in the kingdom, see Is 11:6–9; 35:9 and Hos 2:18.

34:26 My hill. A reference to Jerusalem and Zion in particular, where the Jews will come to worship the Lord. showers of blessing. Cf. the “times of refreshing” in Ac 3:19, 20, when the curses of Dt 28:15–68 are lifted.

34:27 The faithfulness of the Land is also indicated in Am 9:13.

34:28, 29 no longer be a prey. God will stop other nations from subjugating the people of Israel.

34:30 I … their God. An oft-repeated OT theme (cf. Ge 17:7, 8). This speaks of the ultimate salvation of Israel as in Ro 11:25–27.[5]

34:25–31 The covenant of peace announced in v. 25 extends the renewal of life from the human community to the natural world. These effects also come in tandem with the messianic age in Isa. 11:1–9. Covenant curses have been prominent until this point, but the covenant also entailed blessings (cf. Lev. 26:4–6; Deut. 28:8–14). They shall be showers of blessing refers not only to literal rain but also to abundant blessings from God. Ezekiel 34:31 returns explicitly to the pastoral metaphor to draw the threads of the chapter together.[6]

34:25–31 Restoration of Israel’s relationship with Yahweh brings the covenant blessings promised in Lev 26:3–13. Ezekiel has skillfully reworked the blessings from Lev 26:3–13 into a future picture of hope for Israel.

34:29 the insult of the nations A reversal of Yahweh’s prior judgment. See Ezek 22:4 and note.

34:31 my flock, the flock of my pasture. You are my people Ties the oracle of blessing and restoration back to the metaphor of the sheep and shepherd from vv. 1–24.[7]

34:25 covenant of peace. The verses that follow spell out what this covenant entails. It includes safety and agricultural bounty in the land. The imagery is of paradise restored.

securely. Wild animals were a constant danger (Lev. 26:6; Deut. 33:20; Judg. 14:5, 6; 1 Sam. 17:34–37; 1 Kin. 13:24–28; 20:36; 2 Kin. 2:24; 17:25, 26; Ps. 7:2; 10:9; 17:12; Prov. 28:15; Is. 31:4; Jer. 5:6; Lam. 3:10; Hos. 13:8; Amos 3:4, 8, 12; 5:19; Mic. 5:8; cf. Is. 11:6–9; 65:25).

34:26 a blessing. Agricultural prosperity is a common theme in Old Testament portrayals of the blessed future of God’s people (vv. 25–29); see note 28:26.

34:30 And they shall know. See note 6:7.

with them … my people. The essence of God’s covenant with Israel was that the Lord would be their God, and they would be His people (11:20; 36:28; Ex. 6:7; Lev. 26:12; Deut. 7:6; 14:2; 27:9; 29:13; Ps. 50:7; Is. 51:22; Jer. 7:23; 11:4; 30:22; Joel 2:27).[8]

34:25–29 The new age of the “one shepherd” (v. 23) will be governed by a “covenant of peace” which God will enact through Him. Isaiah envisioned the same covenant (Is. 11:1–10). Note especially in v. 27 the mention of Israel’s safety “in their land.” If such a lucid statement can be allegorized, as it is by amillennialists, then words have no dependable meaning at all. Actually the prophecy is to be interpreted literally. The themes in this promissory passage are more fully developed in the oracles that follow in chs. 35–39.[9]

34:25–31 The exiles were encouraged through this promise of a covenant of peace (37:26–28; 38:11–13; 39:25–29; Is. 54:10), which was characterized by these promises: (1) security from foreign aggressor nations, the wild beasts; (2) showers of blessing, meaning productivity and prosperity; and, (3) the certainty that the Lord is Israel’s God and desires reunion with His people and a lasting relationship built on a new covenant (Jer. 31:31–34; Heb. 8:6).[10]
