The Foundation

“It is of great importance to set a resolution, not to be shaken, never to tell an untruth. There is no vice so mean, so pitiful, so contemptible; and he who permits himself to tell a lie once, finds it much easier to do it a second and a third time, till at length it becomes habitual; he tells lies without attending to it, and truths without the world’s believing him. This falsehood of the tongue leads to that of the heart, and in time depraves all its good disposition.” —Thomas Jefferson (1785)

May God’s Underground Church in America Arise

Posted: 13 Jul 2018 06:38 AM PDT

May God’s Underground Church in America Arise(By Bert Farias) Someone recently asked me what I see for America and the church’s future. Right now, I am seeing the beginning and mushrooming of an evolution of sorts concerning both the nation and the church. Not everything is as it appears.  Here’s a powerful word from the Spirit of God that I’ve shared before: Do not look at the TV and larger media ministries to try to understand what I am doing in my body today. They have a part to play, but they are the visible to the eye veneer of the body that people see.

Those who are carnal and immature see the outward appearance and are impressed, thinking that these are the height of ministry and where the Spirit is concentrating today. But they are mistaken. See what I see, many small churches and ministries investing in relationships, walking in love, pouring their lives into each other; this is where the Spirit is moving today. There is a revolution taking place in my body, a revolution of relationships, discipleship, and love. This will affect whole communities and economies.” —John Fenn, Church Without Walls International. CONTINUE

Alabama Man Takes Over Church Pulpit and Pulls Out GunAn Alabama man who allegedly took over a church pulpit during a worship service Sunday, July 8, tried to pull out a gun before being tackled by congregation members, according to AP. The suspect, 34-year-old Thomas Zebulun Lewter, has been charged with making a terroristic threat at the church, says Limestone County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Stephen Young. “During the service, he approached the pulpit and announced that he was sorry he was going to have to do what he had to do,” says wife Kathryn Lewter, who filed for divorce last month. Since the incident, she has petitioned the court for protection from abuse. READ MORE

Extreme hot weather in UK producing plague of bloodsucking horse-fliesThe hot weather has seen populations of bloodsucking clegs – or horse-flies – reach Mediterranean levels.  The insects have sharp jaws and can cause a very painful bite. What makes them unusual is that, unlike midge bites, they cut into the skin rather than pierce it. Antibiotic Research UK (ANTRUK) has

warned that bites could result in painful swellings and the possibility of infections which might not be treatable with our existing antibiotics. The charity’s chief executive professor Colin Garner said: “It is entirely possible in 2018 that you can die of an insect bite, not just in some hot foreign clime, but here in Britain.” There is also a chance of infectious that may not respond to current antibiotics.
