I’m no fan of Trump. I’ve not pretended or suggested otherwise anytime. I do, however, find myself a bit uncomfortable with efforts to find him using various terms 4 or 5 decades back. To be honest I’ve never thought digging through someone’s trash down to the 20-30 year ago level to find dirt on them was very appropriate; not even when it comes to Trump.
Holding a 60 year old responsible for the failures of a 30 year old hardly seems wise. Being angry at a 90 year old for the deeds of a 15 year old seems more than a little unfair. Back 5-10 years, sure. But 30, 40, 50? It just seems shady.
But maybe I’ve been influenced by Jesus and Morgan Freeman. Jesus, who reminds us that we live only in the now. And Morgan, who delivered the best of all speeches in a film when he delivered his parole board hearing speech in ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ –
