Melania Trump Talks Candidly About Her Marriage, Infidelity in Rare Solo Interview — Faithwire

First lady Melania Trump, rarely the subject of an independent interview, is expected to speak candidly in an interview airing Friday about her marriage, President Donald Trump’s alleged infidelity, the #MeToo movement and the infamous “I don’t care” jacket that made headlines around the world.

While most of Melania Trump’s answers have not been released, ABC News did publish a promotional clip, featuring Tom Llamas, a weekend anchor and chief national affairs correspondent for “World News Tonight,” asking the first lady a series of tough questions.

In one clip posted online Wednesday morning, Llamas asked Melania Trump for her thoughts on the #MeToo movement and whether she believes women who claim to have endured sexual abuse of some kind should be trusted.

“I support the women,” the first lady told Llamas, “and they need to be heard. We need to support them and also men, not just women.”

Melania Trump, whose husband has been accused of sexual misconduct, said there needs to be “really hard evidence” to back up claims of sexual assault because “sometimes the media goes too far, and the way they portray some stories, it’s not correct.”

The former supermodel also told the ABC News anchor that the “most surprising thing” about her role as first lady has been the number of humanitarian organizations that have refused to work with her because of  the president’s politics.

“I feel they’re choosing the politics over helpings others,” Melania Trump said, declining to spotlight any organizations in particular because she doesn’t “want to put them out in front of the world.”

The solo interview, “Being Melania: The First Lady,” airs Friday at 10 p.m. ET on ABC News.
