NOVEMBER 30 GOD ALWAYS HAS A PURPOSE

Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

—Isaiah 43:7

God never acts without purpose—never. People act without purpose. I feel that a great deal of what we do in the church today is purposeless. But God never acts without a purpose. Intellect is an attribute of the deity. God has intellect and this means that God thinks; and so God never does anything without an intelligent purpose. Nothing in this world is without meaning.

God put the universe together with a purpose and there isn’t a single useless thing anywhere; not any spare parts; everything fits into everything else. God made it like that….

Now, these plain people of whom I speak believe that God created things for a purpose. He created the flowers, for instance, to be beautiful; He created birds to sing; He created the trees to bear fruit and the beasts to feed and clothe mankind. And in so saying, these people affirm what the Holy Scriptures and Moses and the prophets and the apostles and saints since the world began have all said. God made man for a purpose and that purpose is given by the catechism; the answer is, “To glorify God and to enjoy Him forever.” God made us to be worshipers. That was the purpose of God in bringing us into the world. WMJ001-003

Lord, may I never forget that You brought me into the world that I might be a worshiper. May I joyfully worship You every day of my existence on this earth. Amen. [1]

So it is fitting that Pilate would be the one to pronounce death upon the innocent Jesus of Nazareth.

Listener Comments and Questions

Friday is your show! Mike and David cover questions and comments from our listeners. Here are some of the questions, comments, and topics that Stand Up for the Truth listeners want to discuss today:

Is the Bible clear on Christians tithing and giving?
Doesn’t President Trump promote violence just as much as the radicals on the Left?
Hyper-grace is becoming a cancer in the church, leading to ‘seeker-sensitive’ Christianity
How long should a church allow unrepentant sinners to remain in their congregation?
Eternal security: Hebrews 6 dilemma – can a true believer lose his or her salvation? What’s a balanced perspective?
Andy Stanley, Rob Bell, Jim Wallis, and a few other heretics
Writing from Canada, there are few voices here standing for the true faith, please pray for our leaders!
Weak, watered-down teachings in most modern American churches – how can we break this pattern?

When Adults Eat Baby Food

How would you feel if friends invited you to their home for dinner and when you sat down to eat they served jars of Gerber’s baby food? Would you feel awkward, embarrassed or maybe even offended? But too many churches today are practically doing this with God’s Word! Let’s look at this from God’s perspective as written in the Book of Hebrews: God has given us great principles and depths of wisdom in His Word and believers are instructed to move on to maturity in Christ, so how might He feel when instead of getting to the solid “meat” of His Word we keep drinking milk or eating baby food?

Pastor Mike Abendroth of No Compromise Radio joins us this morning to look at some challenging and controversial verses in Hebrews 5 and 6. In our final segment this morning we look at a heart-breaking story of a six year old boy trapped in gender confusion because his mother insists he is actually a girl and dresses him that way, but when he visits his father he wants to dress like and be called a boy.

Is Israel Being Set Up for Invasion?

The Bible teaches that Israel will be invaded one day and many will lose their lives as Satan makes one final effort to discredit God’s promises to His chosen people. Most of the world will probably support this invasion because they are being deceived into thinking Israel is the problem or even the evil bully while her neighboring Muslim nations are victims of Israeli “oppression.”

Gary Kah of Hope for the World just returned from a trip to Israel, during which thousands of rockets were shot into Israel by the Palestinians and our secular media ignored it. Why is it when these attacks happen, all we ever see on the “news” is when Israel retaliates to protect itself? They show pictures of children caught up in the violence and try to convince us Israel wants to kill innocent women and children. We also talk with Gary about events around the world that point to a coming one world government—Globalism—and the sinister plans of Globalist Politicians in our own nation to undermine President Trump’s Nationalist agenda.

The Dangers of Emotion and Feelings Ruling Our Thought Process

When our emotions and feelings rule our minds and hearts we could be headed into dangerous waters. Logic, knowledge and common sense are put on the back-burner, and we risk thoughts and behaviors that can be very damaging to us and others. Dave Wager of Nicolet Bible Institute joins us this morning to discuss how we take our thoughts captive in Jesus Christ so we can avoid mistakes we might make when emotions and feelings rule our thought process and decision making.

The Obsession With Finding Extraterrestrial Life

The U.S. spend billions of dollars every year on space exploration and the search for extraterrestrial life. Hollywood produces and people watch film after film suggesting we are not alone in the universe. There’s something fascinating about the unknown. But scientists, a majority of whom are atheists, hoping to validate their theory of life on other planets, need only look to God’s Word.

Jay Seegert of the Starting Point Project is today’s guest, here to discuss our obsession with alien life, and how we answer skeptics who use this argument: “If God created man then who created God?”

In our final segment, Mike and David look at backlash a Christian Church in Canada is receiving for exercising biblical church discipline on a member who has admitted she is a lesbian.

November 30 The God of Peace

The God of peace will be with you.

Philippians 4:9

The apostle Paul often referred to the Lord as the God of peace. In Romans he said, “Now the God of peace be with you all” (15:33). In 2 Corinthians he wrote, “The God of love and peace will be with you”(13:11). And to the Thessalonian believers he said, may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way” (2 Thess. 3:16).

Today’s verse emphasizes the fact that God’s character is peace. He is the origin and giver of peace. When we have godly attitudes, thoughts, and actions, the peace of God and the God of peace will guard us. His peace provides comfort, tranquility, quietness, and confidence in the midst of any trial you may face.[1]

This ‘n’ That for November 30, 2018 — Do Not Be Surprised…

  • We are adopted as sons, and that’s important.
  • This would be such a fun gift for a book lover!
  • Well, even a broken clock is right twice a day.
  • I feel like this isn’t a warning we should have to be issuing. Gross.
  • A warning for my fellow tea drinkers. Of course, if you’re drinking these mass produced teas, then we need to talk.
  • “Theology is a noble subject of study for women.”
  • Cults and their inner workings are strangely and sadly interesting.
This is the season when we are expected to be happy; and my heart’s desire is, that in the highest and best sense, you who are believers may be “merry.” Mary’s heart was merry within her; but here was the mark of her joy, it was all holy merriment, it was every drop of it sacred mirth. It was not such merriment as worldlings will revel in to-day and to-morrow, but such merriment as the angels have around the throne, where they sing, “Glory to God in the highest…” —Charles Spurgeon
