Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

—1 Chronicles 29:12-13

Actually, basic beliefs about the Person and the nature of God have changed so much that there are among us now men and women who find it easy to brag about the benefits they receive from God—without ever a thought or a desire to know the true meaning of worship!

I have immediate reactions to such an extreme misunderstanding of the true nature of a holy and sovereign God.

My first is that I believe the very last thing God desires is to have shallow-minded and worldly Christians bragging about Him.

My second is that it does not seem to be very well recognized that God’s highest desire is that every one of His believing children should so love and so adore Him that we are continuously in His presence, in Spirit and in truth.

That is to worship, indeed. WHT023-024

Lord, help me, in the midst of all the blessings You shower upon me, to keep my focus on the Giver and not on the gifts. Teach me to love and adore You in genuine worship. Amen. [1]

Man Doesn’t Care Who Wins, Just Happy He Won’t Have To See Political Ads For A While

ARLINGTON, VA—Local man Lenny Martin told pollsters Tuesday that he doesn’t care who wins any of the political races today, so long as he doesn’t have to see any more political ads or signs plastered all over his town for at least another year or so.

He also pledged his vote to the candidate with the fewest and least annoying commercials.

“I just looked through the list and chose the guys who weren’t interrupting my internet browsing and channel surfing every five minutes whining for votes,” he said in his exit poll. “I figure they must be pretty decent people if they weren’t talking about themselves all the time for the last six months.”

He takes a similar tack with his state’s propositions, voting for the ones that didn’t litter his neighborhood with signs non-stop for months on end. “Look, I assume that if you spend millions of dollars putting signs up to get me to vote for something, your proposition probably wasn’t all that good in the first place. Now, these proposals I’ve heard nothing about? The ones that never pestered me while I was watching football or listening to the morning traffic report? These I can get behind.”

At publishing time, Martin had settled into his couch only to see ads starting to run for the upcoming 2020 presidential race, causing him to cry out in anguish and cover himself in dust and ashes.

Paul Craig Roberts: What This Election Is Really About

Authored by Paul Craig Roberts,

I never cease to be amazed at the insouciance of Americans. Readers send me emails asking why I ever supported Trump when he was the Establishment’s candidate. If Trump was the Establishment’s candidate, why has the Establishment spent two years trying to destroy him?

The failure to put two and two together is extraordinary. Trump declared war on the Establishment throughout the presidential campaign and in his inaugural address.

As I wrote at the time, Trump vastly over-estimates the power of the president. He expected the Establishment, like his employees, to jump to his will, and he did not know Washington or who to appoint to support his goals. He has been totally defeated in his intention to normalize relations with Russia. Instead, we are faced with both Russia and China preparing for war.

In other words, the same outcome that Hillary would have achieved.

Trump has been so harassed by the Establishment that he is having trouble thinking straight. He was elected by “the deplorables” as the first non-Establishment candidate since when? You have to go back in history to find one. Perhaps Andrew Jackson. Jimmy Carter and Ronald Reagan were not the choice of the Democratic and Republican establishments, and the ruling establishments moved quickly to constrain both presidencies. The Democratic Establishment framed and removed both Carter’s budget director and chief of staff, depriving Carter of the kind of commitment he needed for his agenda. The Bush people that the Republican Establishment insisted be put in positions of power in the Reagan administration succeeded in blunting his reformist economic program and his determination to end the cold war. I fought both battles for Reagan, and I still have the bruises.

Trump is an outsider elected by “the deplorables” whose middle class jobs were offshored by America’s global corporations for the benefit only of the executives and large shareholders. A few people sold out the American middle class, which is shrinking away.

In the rest of the world, Trump’s true allies are the presidents of Venezuela, Bolivia, Nicaragua, the former president of Ecuador, and the former president of Honduras, who was overthrown by “America’s First Black President,” the consequences of which are the caravan moving toward the US border. The Establishment has succeeded in so confusing Trump that he has declared the Establishment’s war against the non-establishment leaders in Latin America.

So what is this midterm US election about?

It is about whether “the deplorables” have been brainwashed by the Establishment’s media whores and fail to support Trump in the House and Senate elections. If the Democrats, whose politics is Identity Politics, get the House and/or Senate, Trump will be completely impotent. The Establishment hopes to drive the lesson home to every future presidential candidate to never again appeal to the people over the vested interests of the Establishment.

In America democracy is a scam. The oligarchy rules, and the people, no matter how they suffer under the oligarch’s rule, must submit and accept. No more presidential candidates, please, who represent the people. This is the lesson that the Establishment hopes to teach the rabble in the midterm elections.

What should this election be about?

If America had an independent media, the election would be about the dangerous situation created by Washington that has caused two militarily powerful countries to prepare for war with the US. This is the most serious development of my lifetime. Everything President Reagan worked for has been overthrown for the material interests of the power and profit of the military/security complex.

If America had an independent media, the election would be about the American police state that, based on the 9/11 lie, the weapons of mass destruction lie, the use of chemical weapons lie, the Iranian nukes lie, the Russian invasion of Ukraine lie, was accepted by the insouciant Americans. Those responsible for these lies, which have caused massive war crimes, for which US administrations should be indicted, are feted and rich. The rest of us have experienced the loss of civil liberty and privacy. Any individual in the way of the police state is mowed down.

If America had an independent media, the election would be about the de-industrialization of the United States. Today, as this article makes clear – the offshoring of American manufacturing and industry has reduced the US military to dependence on Chinese suppliers.

And the Trump administration starts trouble with China!

If America had an independent media, the election would be about the 20 years of US and NATO/EU war crimes against Serbia, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, Pakistan, Syria, and Yemen, and US and NATO support for Israel’s war crimes against the remnants of the Palestinian people, and US and NATO/EU support for the neo-nazi regime established by the Obama regime in Ukraine to commit war crimes against the breakaway Russian provinces, the populations of which refuse to become victims of Washington’s overthrow of the democratic elected Ukrainian government and installation by “America’s first black president” of a neo-nazi regime.

If America had an independent media, the election would be about the orchastrated demonization of Iran. The completely stupid dope that Trump appointed Secretary of State just declared (the utter fool should not be permitted to open his mouth) that Washington was going to drive Iran into the ground unless the government agreed to behave like a normal state.

What does Pompeo mean by a “normal state.” He means a state that takes its marching orders from Washington. Iran has not invaded any country. The government in power is the continuation of the government that overthrew the Shah, a dictator imposed on Iran by Washington when Washington and London overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran.

What the despicable Pompeo is really saying is that Iran has to go, because Iran, like Syria, is in the way of Israel’s expansion into southern Lebanon, because Iran and Syria supply the Hezbollah militia, which has twice defeated Israeli invasions of southern Lebanon. The vaunted Israeli army is only good for murdering women and children in the disarmed Gaza ghetto.

If America had an independent media, someone would ask Pompeo precisely what Iran is doing that warrants Washington unilaterally, in the face of opposition of the European, Russian, and Chinese signatures to the Iran Nuclear Agreement, pulling out of the agreement and imposing sanctions that no other country on the planet, except Israel, supports?

But, of course, America has no independent media. It has a collection of whores known as NPR, Washington Post, New York Times, CNN, MSCBS, Fox News, etc.

Without an honest and independent media, there is no accountability of government. America has no honest and independent media. Therefore, in America there is no accountability of government.

“The deplorables” are faced with a dilemma. The president they elected has been overcome by the establishment and cannot represent them. Instead, Trump gives his supporters warmonger John Bolton as National Security Advisor and warmonger Pompeo as US Secretary of State. He might as well have appointed Adolf Hitler. In fact, Hitler was a more reasonable person.

So again, America is having an election in which nothing of any importance is discussed.

Unless the American people rise up in armed rebellion, they are finished as a free people, and, of course, they cannot rise up in armed rebellion. Not so much because the police and every agency of the government has been militarized as because Jewish cultural Marxism and the Democratic Party’s Identity Policics have the American people disorganized and at one another’s throats. Cultural Marxism and Identity Politics have divided the American population into victims and victimizers. The true victimizers and true victims are not part of the picture, which is a construction that serves ideological agendas. It is not the oligarchy that is the victimizer, but the Trump-voting white male. It is not the multi-billionaires, but the marginalized former manufacturing and industrial work force that is the source of oppression. This former work force is black and white, but the Democratic Party’s Identity Politics has blacks and whites at each other’s throats.

My conclusion is that America is doomed. The people, with few exceptions, are not smart enough to continue to exist. Perhaps the outcome of the elections today will change my mind. If the vote goes to the Establishment, all is lost.

Lawlessness – The Ideology of the Left and the God of this Fallen World — The Ignorant Fishermen Blog

One can sum up today’s Democratic party in one word, LAWLESSNESS! Lawlessness is the promotion and application of the rejection of sound moral absolutes; which were instilled into the creation by its ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS Creator (Gen. 1:1-31, Rom. 1:18-32). The Democratic leadership of today has fully embraced lawlessness and the base things of this fallen world (Rom. 1:18-32, 2 Tim. 3:1-7, 2 Thes. 2:10-12, Jude 1:7). These godless reprobates – in their godless rebellion – have sought to rename lawless and evil tendencies with euphemistic feel-good titles, while slandering and branding all those who uphold morality as evil! Almighty God spoke through the prophet Isaiah 2700 years ago and stated, “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” Dear friends, when the ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS Creator says, WOE unto an individual, that individual best very soberly realize that they are indeed in ETERNAL danger of Almighty God’s ETERNAL JUDGMENT (Rev. 20:11-15)!

One can sum up today’s Democratic party in one word, LAWLESSNESS! Lawlessness is the promotion and application of the rejection of sound moral absolutes; which were instilled into the creation by its ETERNAL RIGHTEOUS Creator.

Since 1992, all of the Frankfurt School’s wildest dreams have come to be!  Since 1992, all of Saul Alinsky’s tactics applied by the godless Left have produced its poisonous and destructive fruits upon America and its founding ideals; leaving this nation decimated and weakened, ready to implode! But, by the grace of Almighty God, Almighty God gave us a little space for national repentance and in His ETERNAL providential goodness spared us from the godless and lawless Hillary and America’s demise by allowing Donald Trump to be our nation’s president! Who would of ever conceive or comprehend what Donald Trump would do in just these last two years!?! Absolutely amazing in so many ways! Since the 2016 elections the Left has been on full parade for all to observe their godlessness, lawlessness, hate and destructive tendencies against President Trump, evangelicals, conservatism and simple moral absolutes. Since President Trump has undone much of President Obama’s lawless restraints, the economy and many moral goodnesses have abounded in just two years! Exposing and revealing just how evil and lawless the Lefts policies on America have been!

When you think of the American Left today, always equate lawlessness to their character; for indeed they are godless, lawless and demonic to the core.

When you think of the American Left today, always equate lawlessness to their character; for indeed they are godless, lawless and demonic to the core (Rom. 1:18-32, 2 Tim 3:1-7, Jude 1:10)! These have sold themselves, their souls and their followers to Saul Alinsky’s master and to the ways of their father (John 8:44, Eph. 2:1-2).

Today, the Democratic party and media have fully embraced lawlessness! Today the Democratic base and voter has fully embraced lawlessness and has reaped the horrific consequence thereof (Gal. 6:7). Wherever lawlessness and godlessness are found today you will ALWAYS find violence, licentiousness, broken families, poverty, disease, tyranny, ignorance, anarchy, psychological issues, drug addiction, abortion, murder, STD’s etc… for all such things are the fruit of a lawlessness existence (Gal. 6:7).

The majority of today’s Democrat voters and those of the Democratic base are liberal /progressives whose “reality and belief system” is rooted in the firm rejection of Almighty God and His ETERNAL RIGHTEOUSNESS, core moral absolutes and the practice of a sensual subjectivism, that view God ordained absolutes through the lawless prism of moral relativism and pluralism. These possess a fear of moral absolutes and believe that true freedom is to be free from any Divine instituted moral absolutes or laws that suppress their unbridled passions (Psalm 14:1-3, Isa 24:5, 2 Tim 3:1-7, Jude 1:10). They are lawless in their practice and hostile to any that impose a Divine reality or the adherence of moral absolutes (Rom. 1:28-32). Just as their father (i.e., the Devil), they follow his godless example to live a godless and lawless existence, always seeking the fruit of RIGHTEOUSNESS by lawless means (Isa. 5:20; 48:22; John 8:44; Gal 5:19-20).

They possess a fear of moral absolutes and believe that true freedom is to be free from any Divine instituted moral absolutes or laws that suppress their unbridled passions.

The Lord Jesus stated that, you shall know men by their fruits and by their actions (Matt. 7:16-20). It is simple enough to see that where ever the “virtues” of secular liberalism are promoted and exercised that poverty, disease, anarchy, crime, social chaos, the break down of the family unit, violence and horrific social devastation are to be found.

When one rejects and abandons the core moral building blocks for a health society for a godless delusion of lawlessness, expect to find social devastation and chaos (2 Tim. 3:1-7).

By applying these lawless solutions, these excel the rate of today’s social ills at EXPONENTIAL rates.

What is most alarming is how the very people that impose their delusional solutions and remedies upon the American people seek also to fix these ills of society by applying the very same logic that got us to this social catastrophic point in the first place. By applying these lawless solutions, these excel the rate of today’s social ills at  EXPONENTIAL rates. Today’s American social culture is at the extreme breaking point. The evidence is everywhere, yet the majority of American’s live in the apathetic delusion that all is well and that we will remain and prosper as times past. Wake up America, the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!

November 6 Dealing with Disunity

Stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel.

Philippians 1:27

Spiritual stability depends on mutual love, harmony, and peace between believers. Our lives are to be intertwined that we might support and sustain one other.

In today’s verse, we read that Paul wanted that kind of harmony in the Philippian church, but instead there was an intense disagreement between two women threatening the church’s life. Paul sought to keep sins such as partiality, criticism, bitterness, unforgiveness, and pride from spreading throughout the church.

To avoid such problems, it is necessary for believers to care and pray for each other. Mutual love produces the harmony that’s conducive to spiritual stability and reflects what the church is all about: supporting the weak, lifting the fallen, and restoring the broken.[1]

Woman Faints At Trump Rally As Tens Of Thousands Start To Sing ‘Amazing Grace’ And Pray For Her Recovery — Now The End Begins

As emergency workers made their way to the woman, President Trump said: “Take your time. Take your time. Relax.” After several minutes the audience broke into the hymn ‘Amazing Grace.’

During the presidential elections back in 2012, the Democratic National Party shocked the country by voting to remove all references to God from the party’s platform. They also refused to acknowledge Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. The country, excluding Liberals of course, was outraged over these actions, and eventually the DNC, through gritted teeth, was shamed back into restoring the references to God and Jerusalem.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8,9 (KJV)

Flash-forward to last night, and watch as the entire arena at President Trump’s rally in Missouri spontaneously began to sing the classic hymn ‘Amazing Grace’, praying for a woman who had fainted moments before, and was receiving medical attention from a doctor there. It took nearly 8 minutes for the doctor to give the all clear sign, and the vast multitude remained quiet and respectful the entire time.

There is not a better example I could give you of the difference between Conservatives and Liberals than that right there. How do you truly make America great again? By returning to God’s amazing grace and asking for His blessing, that’s how.

President Trump pauses speech as woman gets medical help, crowd spontaneously sings ‘Amazing Grace’

FROM FOX 2 ST. LOUIS: President Donald Trump says he’s hoping a supporter will be fine after a medical incident at his final rally ahead of Tuesday’s midterm election.

President Trump paused his stump speech for roughly eight minutes after being alerted to a medical emergency in the crowd of thousands.

As emergency workers made their way to the woman, Trump said: “Take your time. Take your time. Relax.” After several minutes the audience broke into the hymn ‘Amazing Grace.”

Resuming his speech after the supporter was taken out of the arena, Trump said of the singing, “That was beautiful.” He added: “Hopefully she’ll be OK.”

Medical emergencies are common at presidential rallies, where security requires attendees to be in place for hours ahead of time. READ MORE

Report: Priest pedophilia is on the rise — Watcher’s Lamp

(1) Catholic clergy mainly prey on boys: Whereas two-thirds of victims in U.S. sex abuse of minors are girls, the vast majority of clergy sex abuse victims — over 8 in 10 victims — were boys. As girls became more prevalent as altar servers, abusers of boys “responded to the presence of fewer younger boys primarily by turning to older boys, not to female victims.” Comparable reports in Germany indicate that up to 90% of abuse victims of Catholic clergy have been male, compared to about half of victims in Protestant or non-religious settings in that country.

(2) By comparing the share of homosexual Catholic priests with the incidence and victim gender of minor sex abuse victims by Catholic priests from 1950 to 2001, the study found a strong correlation between sexual abuse of minors and two factors:

(a) A disproportionate number of homosexual clergy:

The study found that the increase in the number of homosexual men in the priesthood is “almost perfectly” correlated with more overall abuse and more boys abused compared to girls. The correlation is 0.98, where a correlation of 1.0 is an absolute positive correlation. That means that the number of child victims increased at almost the same rate as the percentage of homosexual priests — the greater the percentage of homosexual priests, the greater the number of child, mainly male, victims. While the correlation was lower among victims under age 8, it was still strong, at 0.77. Researchers usually consider correlation association above 0.3 or 0.4 to be a strong effect.

However, in Sullins’ words, “Although over 8 in 10 of victims have been boys, the idea that the abuse is related to homosexual men in the priesthood has not been widely accepted by Church leaders.”

It is not the simple presence of homosexual men in the priesthood that is the correlative factor. Sullins said in a press conference on November 2 that “when homosexual men were represented in the priesthood at about the same rate as they were in the population, there was no measurable problem of child sex abuse. It was only when you had a preponderance of homosexual men.”

The percentage of homosexual men in the general population is estimated at 2%. Beginning in the 1950s, the percentage of homosexuals in the priesthood increased from 4% to 16% by the 1980s, eight times the percentage in the general population. From 1965 to 1995 an average of at least one in five priests ordained annually were homosexual, a concentration which drove the overall proportion of homosexual men in the priesthood up to 16%, or one in six priests, by the late 1990s. Dr. Sullins said, “When you get up to 16% of priests that are homosexual, and you’ve got eight times the proportion of homosexuals as you do in the general population, it’s as if the priesthood becomes a particularly welcoming and enabling and encouraging population for homosexual activity and behavior.

If the proportion of homosexual priests had remained at the 1950s level, at least 12,000 fewer children, mostly boys, would have suffered abuse.

(b) A homosexual subculture in seminaries:

The presence of homosexual subcultures in seminaries, as reported by priests considering their own seminary life, accounts for about half the incidence of abuse, but not among heterosexual men. Sullins said that homosexual subcultures encourage those who may have been attracted to male victims to act out more than would have been the case otherwise. Seminary candidates have reported about the problems this disproportion creates. Donald Cozzens’ 2000 book, The Changing Face of the Priesthood, has accounts of homosexual students being so prevalent at some seminaries that heterosexual men felt destabilized and disoriented and left.

Here Is Goldman’s Last Minute Pre-Election Status Check

With just hours left until the first midterm elections results are released, banks are rushing to get their last-minute previews in, with Goldman the latest to opine that the contest for control of the House majority looks fairly competitive, and repeating what everyone by now knows: Democrats appear more likely to win the majority than the Republicans are to hold it. Meanwhile, in the Senate the picture is flipped, as Democrats have a very narrow path to a majority but Republicans appear much more likely at this point to maintain control.

So for anyone still looking for a last minute pre-election status check and missed our “complete midterm elections guide“, here is what Goldman’s clients are reading right now, courtesy of the bank’s political economic Alec Phillips.

A Final Pre-Election Status Check

On November 6, all 435 members of the House and 35 Senate seats will be up for election. In addition, gubernatorial elections will be held in 36 states.

Over the last couple of weeks, the key barometers for public sentiment regarding the election have been relatively stable:

  • Generic ballot: The final generic ballot polling is averaging 7-8pp to the Democratic side. The Democratic share of the popular vote has historically underperformed the Democratic generic ballot vote share, and there has also typically been variation between popular vote share and seats won. That said, a generic ballot advantage of 7-8pp is likely to be sufficient to win at least a slim majority of House seats, in our view.
  • Enthusiasm gap: The ABC/Washington Post poll asks voters whether they are “certain to vote” or have already voted. Compared with the 2014 midterms the figures look good for Democrats: The share of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents who are “certain” to vote has increased by 11pp more than Republicans and Republican-leaning independents; the non-white share has increased by 15pp more, the young share (under 39) has increased by 14pp more than the senior share, and the self-described liberal share has increased by 18pp more than the self-described conservative share. In the final CNN poll, voters who are “very enthusiastic” about voting are 8pp more Democratic leaning than those who are “less enthusiastic” about voting.
  • Bottom-up House polling: Polling in individual House districts shows a more competitive landscape than top-down measures. While House race polling is unreliable, the results are broadly intuitive: among seats that analysts rank as “likely” to go to one party or the other, the party leads polling in those races by around 10pp in an average of polls; among “lean” seats the average polling margin is about 5pp in the expected direction, and among “toss-up” seats the average poll is roughly tied. Taking the average of recent polls for each individual race at face value, we find that Democrats would win a net 26 seats, just a few more than the 23 they need to win the majority. As shown in Exhibit 1, the Democratic advantage in the 23rd through 26th seat averages less than 1pp, suggesting that from a bottom-up perspective the outlook for the House is fairly uncertain.

  • Bottom-up Senate polling: Taken at face value, polling in the Senate implies both parties will emerge from Tuesday’s election with the same number of seats they have now (51 Republicans, 49 Democrats). In light of the large polling deficit Democrats face in North Dakota, the most plausible path to a majority would be to hold all other seats and win Arizona and Nevada plus either Tennessee or Texas. This suggests the marginal seat the Democrats would need to win the Senate majority is leaning around 5pp in the Republican direction at the moment.

  • Prediction markets: The odds on one widely followed platform, PredictIt, imply a 65% chance of a Democratic House majority but only a 16% chance of a Democratic majority in the Senate. These probabilities are roughly in line, we believe, with the consensus view among market participants.

Divided Congress Is the Base Case

A Democratic House and Republican Senate is the clear consensus view among market participants and political analysts. As such, we would not expect a substantial market reaction to this result. From a policy perspective, we would expect the following under a divided Congress outcome:

  • Taxes: We expect no major tax legislation under a divided Congress scenario. However, with no major policies due to expire in 2019 or 2020, this would have little effect on our baseline fiscal policy view that tax policy goes from growth-positive to growth-neutral by late 2019. It is likely in this scenario that the Democratic House would try to pass tax legislation that redistributes the 2017 tax cut toward lower income households while also reversing the limitation on the state and local tax deduction. However, it would be very unlikely to attain the 60 votes needed in the Senate in this scenario, if it even came up for a vote.
  • Spending: Under a divided Congress, we would expect Congress to approve discretionary caps for defense and non-defense spending for FY2020 and FY2021 that are roughly flat in real terms with the spending caps for 2019 that Congress approved earlier this year. This is the assumption underlying our fiscal projections.
  • Infrastructure: We expect that a major infrastructure program such as the President has proposed would be unlikely under any election scenario, though some funding could be diverted toward infrastructure out of other non-defense spending, as it was this year. While President Trump and congressional Democrats have both supported infrastructure programs, the details differ substantially and, more importantly, Democrats might not be motivated to reach an agreement with the White House prior to the 2020 presidential election.
  • Trade Policy: A Democratic House would be more likely than a Republican House to block the implementing legislation for the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), but we expect that the deal would eventually be approved. However, potential opposition could prompt President Trump to initiate the withdrawal process from the current NAFTA, forcing the House to choose between the new deal or none at all. In the absence of a legislative agenda in this environment, the White House would be more likely to pursue additional tariffs on imports from China, in our view (implementation of further tariffs by early 2019 is our base case).
  • Regulatory: Control of the House would have little direct impact on the regulatory agenda, since (1) it would likely be blocked in the Senate and (2) most regulatory changes under the Trump Administration have been carried out with existing authority and have not needed congressional approval. That said, it is likely that regulatory scrutiny of some regulated industries (health care, financial services) could increase through House committees.
  • Fiscal deadlines: Fiscal deadlines become riskier under a divided Congress. The next spending deadline is December 7, 2018 (before election results take effect) but this is likely to be pushed to either Q1 2019 or September 30, depending on what Congress decides after the election. Under a divided Congress, there will be a substantial risk of shutdown at the next spending deadline in 2019, though whether it happens will depend on the political environment at that point. The debt limit will be reinstated March 1, 2019 and we expect Congress will need to raise it by August. We note that the two most disruptive debt limit debates in recent memory, in 2011 and 2013, both occurred in a divided Congress.

A Republican Sweep Would Lead to More Fiscal Easing

While not widely expected, we believe many market participants view a Republican sweep as a real possibility. From a policy perspective, this outcome would differ in several respects from a divided Congress:

  • Taxes: If Republicans keep control of both chambers, we would expect another tax cut in the range of $60-70bn (0.3% of GDP) as a base case, though the size would depend on the size of Republican majorities in the House and Senate (larger majorities, particularly in the Senate, would likely make room for slightly larger tax cuts). Such legislation could pass via the reconciliation process with only 51 votes in the Senate, bypassing Democratic opposition.
  • Spending: Under a Republican Congress, the spending caps for FY2020 and FY2021 might be raised to a lower amount than under a divided or Democratic Congress, but we would not expect spending to be cut by the 5% the President has proposed, which would work out to around $65bn (0.3% of GDP). In this scenario, we would expect small nominal cuts of $15-30bn (0.1% of GDP) off of the FY2019 cap level.
  • Infrastructure: Compared to a divided or Democratic Congress, infrastructure would likely receive less legislative attention.
  • Trade Policy: USMCA passage would likely be easier in this scenario than under a divided Congress. The probability of a de-escalation of US-China trade tensions might also rise in this scenario, as the White House becomes more focused on the legislative agenda, such as passage of tax cuts, which would require the support of Republican members of Congress, including those who are concerned about the effect of retaliatory tariffs on US agriculture, among other industries.
  • Regulatory: The regulatory tone might be more industry-friendly under this scenario than in others, though the odds of enactment of any major deregulatory initiatives under this scenario would be low, in our view, as it would be unlikely to attain the 60 votes necessary to pass the Senate.
  • Fiscal deadlines: The spending and debt limit deadlines in 2019 would be somewhat less eventful under an all-Republican scenario, in our view. That said, growing deficits (we project a $1 trillion deficit in FY2019) and the need to secure bipartisan support for any spending extension might nevertheless make next year’s deadlines somewhat more eventful than they were over the last two years.

The Policy Consequences of a Democratic Sweep Would Be Similar to a Divided Congress

From a policy perspective, a Democratic House and Senate would be similar to a divided Congress in most respects, though there would be a few differences:

  • Taxes: Using the budget reconciliation process, Democrats could pass legislation reversing some of last year’s tax cuts. President Trump would likely veto but the process could increase uncertainty, particularly regarding the medium-term fate of the tax cuts after the 2020 presidential election.
  • Healthcare: President Trump and congressional Democrats have used similar rhetoric regarding drug pricing, but so far the Administration has not made substantial policy changes (though it has proposed some). Using the budget reconciliation process, a Democratic Congress would likely send legislation to the President’s desk that reduces spending on pharmaceutical and biotech products.
  • Infrastructure: An infrastructure package would become at least slightly more likely under a Democratic sweep than a divided Congress, but we would not expect a major package to be enacted.
  • Trade policy: The outlook would be similar to a divided Congress. A Democratic Senate would present less of a hurdle for passage of the USMCA than a Democratic House. Control of the Senate seems unlikely to alter the Administration’s stance on US-China trade.
  • Regulatory: Since 60 votes are necessary in the Senate for any regulatory legislation, a Democratic majority would not be sufficient for passage. That said, the Senate is responsible for confirming nominees for regulatory agencies, so replacing departing agency heads could become more difficult.
  • Fiscal deadlines: A Democratic Congress would likely have nearly as much difficulty agreeing on spending legislation or raising the debt limit as a divided Congress, in our view.

This Election Day, ‘I’m Voting to Support Liberty, Independence, and Freedom’

I am a woman, I’m a millennial, and I’m Hispanic.

I’m more than that, of course — but I mention this at the outset because of all the things I am, I am not a victim.

I am a strong-willed Hispanic woman with two college degrees, three amazing stepchildren, and a husband whom I adore and work with every day.

I am not a victim but rather something much bigger, an example of perseverance and steadfastness in a world where such things are in increasingly short supply.

Why do I say this? Because I was raised in part by a ruthless stepfather. My mother went through hard times, so I spent long stretches in those days with my grandparents. They were stable but also preoccupied with many things. Most days, I found myself utterly alone except for my unshakable faith.

I never knew my biological father.

When I was 14 I went to my uncle’s house to live. He was and is a fabulous man who I cannot thank enough for stepping up; but he was also a single older man with a life to live, too. So I was forced to navigate the emotional wreckage inside my family and myself for years. Thankfully my mother and I have now put the past where it belongs and look to a promising future.

Do I have bad days? Yes, we all do. The difference is those bad days do not define me. I define them by working hard and pushing forward toward the American dream.

When I go the polls to vote, I refuse to vote for those who try to find an inner victim in everyone. I refuse to support the idea that because the road is sometimes rough, you need the government to hold your hand.

Early on in my life, nobody held my hand — and guess what? I made it anyway because I believe in hard work and in holding myself accountable. I do not subscribe to the self-defeating point of view that every time the world deals you lousy cards, you need to go crawling on your knees begging for a handout from the government.

The only thing I need the government to do is stay out of the way and allow personal and economic freedom to flourish.

I believe in myself and I believe in America, a place where we all have the chance to rise above whatever circumstances or experiences we may have had.

The Democrat Party has been offering “free stuff” to people ever since I can remember, and frankly, I find it appalling and infuriating. On a more basic level, it appears as little more than a direct appeal for Democrats to buy votes from one group of people while paying the bill with money from other people.

I believe in myself and I believe in America, a place where we all have the chance to rise above whatever circumstances or experiences we may have had. I truly believe there is no such thing as inequality in America despite what most Democratic leaders try to peddle to the masses.

I hear people complaining all the time about how President Donald Trump is not “presidential.” They scream he has hurt people’s feelings or offended people by the things he says or tweets or whatever.

For me, it is refreshing to have someone who is fighting for my country, my family and me — every single day!

I will vote to support a fighter. I want someone on my side.

On this Election Day, I am voting to support the policies of liberty, independence and freedom.

In Michigan, I am voting for West Point graduate and combat veteran John James.

I’m also rejecting the ideology of victimhood and socialism put forth by gubernatorial candidate Gretchen Whitmer — and instead, I’m voting for pro-business, pro-Michigan, and pro-America Bill Schuette.

I will not think twice when it comes to voting for those who will support our president.

Please, sir, fight on!

At Star-Studded Rally, Trump Makes Closing Argument: ‘Stop Radical Resistance In Its Tracks’ — Christian Research Network

“Hannity said Trump is a man of his word: “Promises made, promises kept.” And Pirro, host of “Justice With Jeanine,” knocked out the crowd when she said: “If you like the American that he is making now, you’ve got to make sure you get out there tomorrow if you haven’t voted yet.”

(Joseph Curl – Daily Wire)  President Trump brought out the big guns in his final rally before Election Day as he made his closing argument, urging voters to “stop the radical resistance in its tracks” to prevent Democrats from undoing the gains he’s made in his first two years.

In a rally in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, talk radio host Rush Limbaugh emerged first, drawing cheers from thousands packed into an arena.

“We are a great nation at risk in a dangerous world,” Limbaugh said. “We are hanging by a thread. Do you realize, folks, there is nobody ― there’s some on the Republican side ― but for the most part there’s nobody who would do what Donald Trump has done, nobody who would buck the system? Who among anybody in politics, who could you have lobbed onto that would have this kind of chance to make America great again?”

Adam Schiff Vows to ‘Renew’ Russia Probe if Dems Flip the House — The Gateway Pundit

Leaker, liar and ranking member of the House Intel Committee, Adam Schiff (D-CA) said it would be his top priority to renew the Russia probe if the Democrats win the midterms.

If Democrats take control of the House, all of the work Chairman Nunes has done exposing the FISA abuses will be for nothing.

Rep. Adam Schiff will become Chairman of the House Intel Committee and he will harass the President and Republicans with Soviet style ‘show trials.’

Via the Los Angeles Times:

“We’re not taking anything for granted,” Schiff said, but laid out his priorities as the committee’s chair if control of the House flips. Reviving the investigation into Russia’s election meddling is at the top of the list, Schiff said, and also probing whether Russia has financial leverage over President Trump through his business interests.

“The president has sought to keep that off limits, but if that’s the leverage Russians pose that’s a real threat to our country,” Schiff told The Times.

Adam Schiff has already obstructed Chairman Nunes’ investigation into Spygate and FISA abuses by Obama’s FBI and DOJ.

Schiff hit Nunes with a 9 month long ethics investigation which ultimately slowed down the Committee’s investigation.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi also threatened to use subpoena power as a negotiating tool if the Dems flip the House.

God help us if these power hungry, lawless Democrats ever get into power again.

Go vote today–vote red all the way down the ticket!

Nancy Pelosi Promises Radical LGBTQ ‘Equality Act’ if Democrats Win House, While GOP Candidates Self-Censor on Homosexual Agenda

CHICAGO, Nov. 6, 2018 /Christian Newswire/ — The most dangerous legislation ever to come out of the revolutionary “gay” activist movement – the federal “Equality Act,” which proposes adding “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” as protected classes in the Civil Rights code – hangs in the balance as Americans go to the polls today.

Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) promised that if the Democrat Party wins back the House and she becomes Speaker Pelosi, a top priority will be passing the Equality Act, which now has 198 co-sponsors in the House, all but two of them Democrats.

Americans For Truth About Homosexuality (AFTAH.org) president Peter LaBarbera has renamed the Equality Act the “Criminalizing Christianity Act” and called it a “gay and transgender lawyers’ dream bill.” It would effectively criminalize traditional morality and undermine religious liberty by punishing Americans for living out their conscience on issues like unnatural homosexual “marriage” ceremonies and taxpayer funding of grotesque transsexual “sex-reassignment surgeries” (masquerading as “health care”).

In an excellent article summarizing the Equality Act, Heritage Foundation scholar Ryan Anderson writes, “By making ‘gender identity’ a protected class, the government would force Americans to embrace transgender ideology in a variety of settings…elevating “gender identity” to a protected class across our federal antidiscrimination laws could impose a nationwide transgender bathroom policy, a nationwide pronoun policy, a nationwide sex-reassignment health care mandate….”

[Anderson’s reference to a “pronoun policy” suggests government punishments for people who use “he” or “him” to describe biological males who purport to be “women,” like “Caitlyn” Jenner. In defiance of biology and DNA, LGBTQ activists insist that everyone use whatever pronoun and newfangled descriptors they demand to describe the gender-confused.]

LaBarbera warned that LGBTQ activists have mounted an unprecedented electoral effort on behalf of openly LGBTQ Democratic and pro-homosexual/trans-agenda candidates–with the Human Rights Campaign, the largest LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer) lobby organization, alone spending $26 million targeting six battleground states: Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Nevada.

And yet, “Republican candidates and conservative alternative media are mostly silent on the homosexual agenda, following the lead of the reflexively liberal ‘mainstream’ media, whose love of all things LGBTQ is eclipsed only by their hatred of Donald Trump,” he said.

LaBarbera said too many Republicans are petrified of the vocal LGBTQ Lobby, and offered two examples of the GOP’s curious silence on homosexual issues in the mid-terms:

Tying the Knot – My Top Choice for Premarital Counseling — Paul Tautges

This morning, I met with an engaged couple for the fourth of our eight sessions of premarital counseling. Again, I was reminded of why I switched to Rob Green’s guide, Tying the Knot: A Premarital Guide to a Strong & Lasting Marriage, a couple years ago. And why it is our church’s preferred resource.

As one who has been involved in Christian ministry for almost 30 years, I’ve seen my share of Christian marriages that were Christian in name only. At first glance they appear to be authentically Christian, but soon reveal that Jesus is not actually the center of them. Instead, the wife or husband is the center, as “emotional neediness” or “control freakishness” reign supreme in real life. Tying the Knot is aimed at shattering those self-centered imitations of Christian marriage. It’s not about affirming the modern notion that marriage is to help me be a better me. Instead, it’s all about placing and keeping Jesus at the center of life and marriage. For example, Green writes to the engaged couple in the first chapter:

Each of you was designed by God to love him first. When you function according to your purpose, you function at maximum capacity. But when Jesus is not at the center, you become like a pair of pliers trying to embed a nail in a piece of wood.

The book’s Table of Contents lives up to this call to place Jesus at the center of every part of marriage.

  • Chapter 1: Jesus Must Be the Center of Your Life (Yes, even before marriage)
  • Chapter 2: Love with Jesus at the Center
  • Chapter 3: Problem Solving with Jesus as the Center
  • Chapter 4: Roles and Expectations with Jesus as the Center
  • Chapter 5: Communication with Jesus as the Center
  • Chapter 6: Finances with Jesus as the Center
  • Chapter 8: Intimacy with Jesus as the Center

If you are looking for a sound resource for engaged couples to read and discuss, check out Tying the Knot. By the way, I’ve also recommended it to couples who have been married for some time, but need a refresher.

ONE THIRD Of American Catholic Bishops ‘Failed To Respond’ To Sex Abuse Allegations — But That May Not Be The Worst Part Of The Story — Christian Research Network

“As a result of what a civilian oversight official called a “common fraud,” misbehavior by bishops “flourished.” Bishops, the Globe and Inquirer say, routinely overlooked sexual abuse by their peers, ignored complaints of abuse brought to their attention, and in extreme cases like that of McCarrick, covered for each other.”

(Emily Zanotti – Daily Wire)  A shocking new report compiled by a team of journalists from both the Boston Globe and the Philadelphia Inquirer alleges that at least one in three living, American Catholic bishops has been accused of failing to respond appropriately to claims of sexual abuse brought to their attention.

The report, over the weekend, offers a disturbing look into a Church hierarchy that was supposed to have been reformed in 2002, after the Boston Globe revealed that the Archdiocese of Boston had either covered up — or simply ignored — dozens of allegations of sexual misconduct against Boston priests.

Although much has been done to alleviate the possibility of sexual misconduct at the parish level, almost nothing has been done to root out misconduct among the Church’s administration, and bishops have been allowed to escape both accountability and punishment.

“More than 130 U.S. bishops — or nearly one-third of those still living — have been accused during their careers of failing to adequately respond to sexual misconduct in their dioceses,” the reporters claim. “At least 15, including Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, the former archbishop of Washington who resigned in July, have themselves been accused of committing such abuse or harassment.” View article →

VIDEO: Illegal Electioneering Caught on Camera in Pennsylvania, Voter Told “Don’t Go Making a Fool of Yourself” After They Complained — The Gateway Pundit

A video posted to Twitter on Tuesday appears to show “VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRAT” signs posted on the doors of a poll location — which is illegal under Pennsylvania election laws.

It is illegal in Pennsylvania for campaign materials to be distributed or displayed within 10 feet of a polling place entrance. No campaigning is permitted within the polling place.

“THIS IS ELECTION TAMPERING. I was sent this video by a friend who wishes to remain anonymous, I have blurred the reflections to obscure their identity. The attendant told this person ‘Don’t go making a fool of yourself’, after they complained… THIS MUST GO VIRAL,” the popular Twitter user Carpe Donktum posted along with the video.

The person who took the video wanted to remain anonymous, but claims in screenshots of a Dischord chat provided to the Gateway Pundit that they were told “don’t go making a fool of yourself,” when they complained to a poll volunteer.

The voter stated that they own a business and want to remain anonymous to avoid retaliation. They also said that they have been attempting to report the violation, but the phone number has been busy.

The incident appears to have taken place in Ward 19 of Pennsylvania’s District 9. It is one of the reddest districts in the state.

Heavily Republican AZ District Turns Voters Away – Takes Their Name and Number and Says “We’ll Get Back to You” — The Gateway Pundit

Voters in a Republican district in Maricopa County in Arizona were turned away on Tuesday according to reports.

They were told to leave their name and number and they would get a call later?

This is a stunning report!

100 Percent Fed Up reported:

This morning, when the voting polls opened at the Queen Creek Library in the heavily Republican-leaning southeast valley of Maricopa County in AZ, voters were met with some surprising news— the only two printers designated for printing their ballots were both broken.

Jake Hoffman, the local Republican Party chairman, was notified by a voter, that between 150-200 voters were asked to write their names on a piece of scratch paper, along with their cell phone numbers, and wait for a text message or call that would inform them of when the ballot printers were functioning, so they could come back again to vote.

According to at least one voter, the voters were NOT being told of another location they could go to vote.

In addition to the issues with the only two printers available at the Queen Creek Library location, this morning, a half hour after the polls had already opened, Fontes tweeted a message to voters in the Gila Precinct, to let them know that they need to vote at another location, “due to building access issues”.

They just found out about this on the morning of the election?

Chaos At Polls As Voting Machines Malfunction; Frustrating Delays Plague Midterms

As Americans head out to cast their ballots in Tuesday’s midterm elections, reports have been rolling in across the country of broken voting machines, long wait times and incompetent poll workers.

Voters in Jersey City waited in a seemingly endless line for up to two hours after reports that only two voting booths were functional:

Officials have dispached additional poll workers and an extra voting machine:

New York voters arrived at the Bronx County Supreme Court House only to find an hour-long line and one out of five scanners working.

Gwinnett County, Georgia voters also experienced long lines due to glitching voting machines – which were abandoned for paper or provisional ballots. The machines were later fixed.

In Richland County, South Carolina, a calibration issue with “aging touch-screen machines” has resulted in mismarked ballots.

“If the calibration slips, you can touch it but the screen will select either above or below because of the calibration issue,” said Richland County Elections Director Rokey Suleman. Similar issues have been reported in Westmoreland County, PA.

Officials in other South Carolina precincts have reported voting machine issues, and are now handing out paper ballots to voters, according to The State newspaper.

In Florida, where Democratic Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum recently led Rep. Ron DeSantis by 7 points (via Correctbae), one woman reported long lines caused by more than half of the voting machines going down at a Miami precinct.

The same was reported at a Houston, Texas polling station:

In Brooklyn, voters stood outside in the rain as all voting machines were reported broken.
