March 6 Christ in You

Scripture Reading: John 14:15–27

Key Verse: John 16:14

He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.

How does God Himself, whose immensity cannot be measured, reside in such frail bodies as ours? How does the transcendent Christ live in finite human temples?

We may not comprehend the vastness of this principle, yet the method by which God imparts His presence is plain and clear in the Scriptures: Christ lives in us through His indwelling Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit supernaturally brings the reality of Christ into our earthly frames.

As the third person of the Trinity, the Holy Spirit is just as much deity as the Father and the Son. He imparts the life of Christ to us through His residence in our lives.

The Holy Spirit reveals and shares with us all that Christ is. By making His home in us, He assures us of the presence and power of the risen Christ.

Because the Holy Spirit possesses all the attributes of deity and because He inhabits our mortal bodies, He is infinitely adequate to meet any of our needs. He is not a God far off but a God who is near.

The resurrected Christ is your sure and steadfast hope for all of life, a hope that is every believer’s to claim because of the indwelling ministry of the Holy Spirit.

Come, Holy Spirit, and do Your work. Reveal all that Christ is and wants to be to me. Give me assurance of His presence and power. Let the same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead work abundantly in me.[1]

March 6 Where Do You Go?

Scripture reading: 2 Corinthians 1:8–11

Key verse: 2 Corinthians 1:8

We do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of our trouble which came to us in Asia: that we were burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.

When the world feels as if it is caving in around you and there is nothing you can do to change your circumstances, where do you go to find strength and hope?

In 2 Corinthians 1:8, Paul told of being “burdened beyond measure, above strength, so that we despaired even of life.” Whatever he was facing, the thought of impending death was on his mind. Yet his hope did not rest in his human ability.

The Person he turned to was the only One who could administer peace to his heart and truth to his mind. Even though he despaired, he did not give up or give in to fears. He ran to Jesus: “In whom we trust that He will still deliver us” (2 Cor. 1:10).

From the world’s perspective, there are many places you can go to find comfort. But there is only one place you will find a hand to catch your tears and a heart to listen to your every longing. True peace comes only from God. Nothing is so great that God is not greater still.

Is there an urgency in your heart? Something that threatens your emotional well-being as well as your ability to perform in life? Take it to Jesus. Run to Him. He is your solid, unshakable Source of strength in cruel and hurtful times, One who is faithful and One who is true.

Heavenly Father, I run to You today. You are the One who is faithful and true. You are my unshakable Source of strength in difficult times.[1]

Alexander: The House Impeachment Subterfuge

The House Impeachment Subterfuge to Obstruct MAGA

Democrats’ “Hate Trump” Phase 2 plan — the impeachment obstruction of the MAGA agenda — is now underway.

“I suppose, indeed, that in public life, a man whose political principles have any decided character and who has energy enough to give them effect must always expect to encounter political hostility from those of adverse principles.” —Thomas Jefferson (1808)

Game on!

Democrat Party leaders are doing everything they can to derail Donald Trump’s successful “Make America Great Again” agenda and prevent any further success ahead of the 2020 election. Their win-at-all-costs tactics include seeding an economic recession by angling for impeachment, which will undermine all the economic confidence indexes.

Phase 1 of their plan was winning back the House on their “Hate Trump” platform — as they had and have nothing else to offer. Unfortunately, with the help of hundreds of millions of dollars of “in kind” advertising from their Leftmedia propagandists, they succeeded.

Phase 2 is setting Trump up for an inquisition and impeachment. Their angle of attack?

It likely won’t be Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller’s phony Russian collusion investigation, which was sparked by the fake Russian dossier funded by Hillary Clinton and her DNC hacks. That scheme was then promoted by her political sycophants, former FBI Director James Comey and other deep-state operatives who, in effect, attempted a coup d’etat to entrap Trump and expel him from office.

The fact that Comey, Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok, and other co-conspirators have yet to be indicted is an affront to Rule of Law.

Two years into the “collusion” charade, the Senate has concluded its bipartisan Trump/Russia investigation and determined that there’s not a shred of evidence to support the Clinton/DoJ claims.

So House Democrats will now conduct their own post-Mueller “collusion” investigation, continuing what House Speaker Nancy Pelosi defined as a “Wrap-Up Smear” tactic against Trump. It will include accusations of obstruction and campaign-finance violations, the latter fitting neatly into their “stolen election” narrative. Their “kitchen sink” approach will also find plenty of other things to “investigate” as fodder for corruption and impeachment charges.

Riding the publicity wave of House testimony by Trump’s disgraced former lawyer, Michael Cohen, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-NY) launched the second phase of the Demo impeachment smear tactic. This week, Nadler issued “document requests” to 81 people and entities in Trump’s campaign, family, and business orbits. Most of those inquiries are an effort to keep the Russian collusion conspiracy alive, while others are aimed at opening up other pathways to impeachment — or at least endless speculation and media chatter about it.

Three other House Democrats are colluding with Nadler to form a four-pronged attack: Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff, Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings, and Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Eliot Engel (D-NY) simultaneously announced their investigations into Trump’s alleged collusion with Vladimir Putin.

Never mind that Special Prosecutor Mueller, whose investigation will likely soon conclude without evidence of Russian collusion, has already exhaustively probed this matter with far greater reach and resources than these House committees have. But this is not about, and never has been about, “collusion.”

Nadler outlined their impeachment strategy: “We must protect and respect the work of Special Counsel Mueller, but we cannot rely on others to do the investigative work for us. We have sent these document requests in order to begin building the public record. We do not now have the evidence all sorted out and everything to do an impeachment. Before you impeach somebody, you have to persuade the American public that it ought to happen.”

Nadler’s actions come just two weeks after billionaire Tom Steyer, a charter member of the Archenemies of Liberty club, held an impeachment rally in Nadler’s New York district. “The Special Counsel’s office and the Southern District of New York are aware that we are taking these steps,” said Nadler. “We will act quickly to gather this information, assess the evidence, and follow the facts where they lead with full transparency with the American people.”

They will not “act quickly.” They will not “follow the facts.” And this is most assuredly not about “full transparency with the American people.”

House members will haggle over their “findings” for the next year, until it’s politically expedient for a simple majority vote on impeachment. If they get that far, the case would then go to trial in the GOP-controlled Senate for a lot more theatrical Demo handwringing before it dies there ahead of the 2020 election.

Trump responded: “They realize the only Collusion with Russia was done by crooked Hillary Clinton and the Democrats. Nadler, Schiff and the Demo heads of the Committees have gone stone cold CRAZY — 81 letters sent to innocent people to harass them. They won’t get ANYTHING done for our Country! The greatest overreach in the history of our Country. The Dems are obstructing justice and will not get anything done. A big, fat, fishing expedition desperately in search of a crime, when in fact the real crime is what the Dems are doing, and have done!”

He added, “I cooperate all the time with everybody. It’s a political hoax. There’s no collusion. There’s no anything.”

White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders declared: “The American people deserve a Congress that works with the President to address serious issues like immigration, healthcare, and infrastructure. The Democrats are more interested in pathetic political games and catering to a radical, leftist base than on producing results for our citizens. Chairman Nadler and his fellow Democrats have embarked on this fishing expedition because they are terrified that their two-year false narrative of ‘Russia collusion’ is crumbling. The Democrats are not after the truth, they are after the President.”

Even former Obama strategist David Axelrod cautioned: “Maybe I’m missing something, but the hazard of an omnibus document demand by House judiciary … the wide-ranging nature of it too easily plays into the ‘witch-hunt’ meme.”

Political analyst Conrad Black notes that Nadler’s ruse won’t succeed: “As the abysmal, shaming failure of the Russian-collusion fraud reveals itself in the run-up to the production of the Mueller report, the president’s accusers, without even a subliminal hint of embarrassment, regret, or belated moderation, lower their sights. … Every conceivable epithet and charge has been hurled at Trump, and there is almost nothing to any of it. We’re only 20 months from the next election and the Democrats, with no show-stopper to disqualify Trump, are scrambling to the left like lemmings to mount a radical alternative to the incumbent. … The Democrats have had their long turn at mudslinging. Now professionally and discreetly, it is time to unearth the real scandal from the last election.”

Former federal prosecutor Joe DiGenova offered some advice to everyone on Nadler’s list: “This is a perjury trap. It is not a legitimate investigation; it’s a fishing expedition. They are trying to get people up there to make them look bad so they can try to make the president look bad. … This is a fraud … designed to smear people as witnesses and it is designed to perjury trap them and make phony referrals to the Justice Department. … No one should talk to this committee. Everyone should take the Fifth and if everyone takes the Fifth, the American people will understand that this isn’t a legitimate investigation. It’s political theater and disgraceful conduct approved of by the Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.”

Fully ignored by the Leftmedia and yet fully ensnared within the Democrats’ political crossfire are the American people, whose jobs and income prospects will fall victim to the Demos’ politically induced recession — the direct result of having thrown economic confidence and prosperity under the bus in order to attack a sitting U.S. president.

As Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham (R-SC) concluded, “[Democrats] want Trump to lose more than they want the country to win.”

National Review’s Jim Geraghty concurred with a cautionary note: “If the economy goes into recession in 2019, President Trump may well relish having the Democratic-controlled House to blame. It’s unlikely that House Democrats will have much ability to influence U.S. economic policy, other than blocking any new initiatives from the Trump administration. But the timing for them would be pretty bad — they step into the new majority and the economy suddenly slows on their watch.”

As I noted in 2017, shortly after Trump took office, “The day he arrived in DC, he dropped a bomb on the status quo in Congress and its special interests. He dropped a bomb on the regulatory behemoths and their bureaucratic bottlenecks. He dropped a bomb on the trade and national security institutions and alliances that failed miserably over the previous eight years. And he dropped a bomb on all the pundits and mainstream media outlets.”

Consequently, the Democrats have been focused on a single all-consuming agenda item: a return to power over the American people.

And make no mistake, the current crop of socialist Democrats will stop at nothing. Like generations of socialists before them, they’re fully willing to crush American workers and families — the “Forgotten Man,” including many of their own constituents — in their relentless pursuit to restore their power.

Recall that as Nancy Pelosi took the speaker’s gavel in January, Trump declared, “As I have stated many times, if the Democrats take over the House or Senate, there will be disruption to the financial markets. We won the Senate, they won the House.”

But the Democrats’ failure to retake the Senate does not lessen their threat to our nation’s economy.

Relentlessly attacking Trump and blocking his administration’s MAGA agenda may well get Democrats the recession they’re hoping for ahead of the 2020 elections. If that happens, tens of millions of American workers and their families will be its casualties.

Fox News’ Judge Napolitano sides with Trump on Dem mega-probe: it’s ‘almost literally a witch hunt’

(Image: screenshot)

The following article, Fox News’ Judge Napolitano sides with Trump on Dem mega-probe: it’s ‘almost literally a witch hunt’, was first published on Conservative News Today.

Andrew Napolitano agreed with President Donald Trump that Democrats “looking for anything they can find” on him are engaged in what is “almost literally a witch hunt.”

The Fox News senior judicial analyst spoke with Charles Payne, who was filling in for Neil Cavuto on “Your World” Tuesday, weighing in on Democrats’ latest attack on Trump.

Payne felt the sprawling investigation launched Monday by Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., the House Judiciary Committee chairman, targeting even the president’s family, seems like Democrats are “going down any particular rabbit hole and searching for anything in a man’s past that perhaps had nothing to do with the job he’s in right now.”

Napolitano agreed, noting that “the president can do very little about this” as the committee has the “tools” to execute the investigation. Document requests were issued to over 80 individuals and entities with no specific target, other than Trump himself, in mind.

“It’s not specific what Jerry Nadler is looking for, and the president is right,” Napolitano said.

“This is almost literally a witch hunt. They’re looking for anything they can find,” he added, noting that Trump’s tax returns will also be requested. “What do they need his tax returns for? To embarrass him, to humiliate him, to taunt him, to drive him crazy, because that’s what they think their base wants them to do.”

Payne asked about the significance of calls for impeachment by Rep. Maxine Waters in light of Nadler’s probe. The California Democrat has consistently called for Trump to be impeached and tweeted again on Monday that it is “the only answer.”

Obstruction of justice reality show: Firing Comey, sending coded messages to Manafort & others that he has the power to pardon; lying abt Trump Tower meeting; threatening Cohen’s in-laws; attempting to destroy Mueller. What more do we need to know? Impeachment is the only answer

— Maxine Waters (@RepMaxineWaters) March 5, 2019

Napolitano called out Nadler’s investigation as “highly political” but said the congressman along with other Democrats are being more careful by saying “impeachment is off the table until there is broad bipartisan support for it.”

“They’re not crazy, they may want to drive him nuts but if they start impeachment and there is not broad bipartisan support for it, it will explode in their faces,” he said.

Waters “apparently doesn’t feel that way” and is “ready to start the impeachment investigation tomorrow,” he added.

The California congresswoman continued her impeachment rants in other tweets firing up her supporters.

Lying Trump, so you said you did nothing to force security clearance for Kushner, huh? Who do you think will believe that lie? Must give you credit. You are the boldest, most daring liar I’ve ever heard of. A pox on all your houses.

— Maxine Waters (@RepMaxineWaters) March 5, 2019

For the faint of heart, who’ve been waiting for every “t” to be crossed and every “i” to be dotted, now is the time to demonstrate your patriotism. Support impeachment!

Trump slammed Democrats as “stone cold CRAZY” in a tweet Tuesday.

Blasting the “presidential harassment” he is being subjected to, Trump called Nadler’s investigation the “greatest overreach in the history of our country.”

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 5, 2019

Twitter users backed Napolitano’s remarks about the “witch hunt” against the president, vowing Democrats will pay in 2020.

How about a GoFundMe to pay for a group of lawyers to investigate them for any wrong doing? Shouldn’t take much.

Why is there nothing we can do to stop the waste of time and money for witch hunts? How is this legal?

A Psalm for the Betrayed and Abused: Psalm 55

Guest Post by Pastor Pat Quinn

It is a glorious truth that Scripture speaks relevantly, personally, and powerfully to the whole range of modern struggles and issues (2 Peter 1:3-4). This includes all forms of personal betrayal and abuse: physical, emotional, and sexual. As people created in the image of the God who speaks (Genesis 1; John 1:1-3), we have been created to have a voice. Diane Langberg says:

“To be in the image of God is to have a voice and speak that voice out into the world. Anything that distorts the voice of God results in the destruction of person….Oppression, cruelty, violence, and …sexual abuse…silence the voice of the one created in the image of the God who speaks.”[i]

One beautiful gift God has given victims of abuse is the book of Psalms. The psalms give us God-inspired words to give voice to our anguish and to hope in God. This is a significant part of healing and restoration.

In looking at Psalm 55 we’re going to tag team with David and the Son of David (whose inner psychology is supremely expressed in the psalms) to see how God’s Word speaks to and speaks for those abused. While both men and women, boys and girls, are victims of abuse, we will primarily address women victims in this blog.

Psalm 55 gives victims of abuse God-given words to:

Approach God Confidently and Cry Out Honestly: Psalm 55:1-3

David asks God to “Give ear to my prayer,” and “Hide not yourself from my plea for mercy!”

This is tragically the opposite of what many victims of abuse experience. People don’t pay attention or listen to their cries for help and they feel they must hide their experience. Many survivors therefore experience great anxiety and terror and continually wrestle with recurring thoughts, memories, and feelings. David models bringing this whole complex of pain to God, confident that he hears and cares.

Courageously Face and Give Voice to Their Agony, Weakness, and Desperation: Psalm 55:4-8

David’s words capture something of the overwhelming effects of abuse: “anguish,” “terrors,” “fear and trembling,” “horror.” This is consistent with the struggle with anxiety, depression, PTSD, pervasive guilt and shame, hypervigilance and hypersensitivity, panic attacks, relational problems, and helplessness many women survivors deal with.

Notice also David’s strong desire to escape and find a hiding place—“Oh that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.” Survivors are often tempted to withdraw socially and relationally or to seek other false refuges in order to protect themselves. God understands this desire for a safe place and offers himself as refuge.

Realistically Assess Evil and Openly Express the Desire for Justice: Psalm 55:9-11, 15, 23

David’s strong words remove euphemistic language about abuse. He describes “violence and strife,” “iniquity and trouble,” “oppression and fraud,” and “blood and treachery.” This reveals the horror of oppression and abuse.

Since many victims of abuse feel shamefully but unjustly responsible for what happened, it is often very difficult for them to call out the evil for what it is and allow themselves to feel a desire for just retribution. David calls for God to “destroy” and “divide their tongues” and “cast them down into the pit.” David’s strong language reveals a good instinct—to see evil punished by God.

Counselors will need to help victims filter the desire for retribution through the gospel, but also to remind them that every sin will be paid for, either on the cross or in hell: judgment for the unrepentant abuser; mercy for the repentant abuser who turns to Christ in faith (James 2:13).

Engage with the Reality and Pain of Betrayal: Psalm 55:12-14, 20-21

The pain of abuse (especially sexual) is often compounded by the fact that it is usually committed by someone known to the victim: a relative, neighbor, “friend,” or someone in a position of authority, like a teacher or clergyman. David expresses this betrayal poignantly when he writes, “He stretched out his hand…he violated his covenant. His speech was as smooth as butter, yet war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, yet they were drawn swords.”

David knew that agony of betrayal, as did his greater Son, the Lord Jesus Christ (Mark 14:18; Luke 22:48). David gives his heartbroken words to express the pain of betrayal and Jesus gives his sympathetic comfort to the betrayed (Hebrews 4:15-16).

Partner with God in Prayer for Restoration: Psalm 55:16-19

Verse 16 turns a spiritual corner in David’s heart with a small but significant word: “but.”All his honest engaging, lamenting, and pleading have connected David with God in such a way that he is able to say, “But I call to God, and the LORD will save me.”

Spirit-empowered faith has touched the living God and a confident hope has emerged. What an encouragement to survivors of abuse:  honest persistent prayer to God in the agonizing aftermath of abuse can give birth to a holy refusal to be defined and paralyzed by the abuse as well as a humble confidence that God will redeem and restore.

Turn Outward and Minister to Others: Psalm 55:22

In verse 22 David turns from his own concerns to address all who have suffered under the hands of others: “Cast your burden on the LORD and he will sustain you.” Turning outward to pray for or speak to other sufferers is a beautiful sign of God’s redemption and healing.

God never wastes any suffering but uses it for his glory and the good of others! Paul elaborates on this in 2 Corinthians:

  • “If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation” (2 Corinthians 1:6).
  • “So death is at work in us, but life in you” (2 Corinthians 4:12).
  • “My grace is sufficient for you, my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9a).
  • “For we also are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God: (2 Corinthians 13:4b).

Physical, emotional, and sexual abuse are tragically common realities for many women. Only God offers a realistic yet radiant hope for survivors of abuse. No quick fixes but something far better: the redemption and restoration that comes through the One who bore all abuse, shame, helplessness, and hopelessness.

“Surely He has borne our griefs (sicknesses, weaknesses, and distresses)

and carried our sorrows and pains”

(Isaiah 53:4a, AMP).

Border Crisis at ‘Breaking Point’ as Unauthorized Migrant Entries Hit 12-Year High: ‘Full-Fledged Emergency’

The situation at the U.S.-Mexico border has reached a “breaking point” as immigrants coming into the U.S. illegally hit a 12-year high in February.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the number of immigrants trying to cross at the U.S.-Mexico border illegally reached a high since 2007, with 76,103 total apprehensions.

Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen M. Nielsen slammed the politics and policies surrounding open borders as the reason the American people are being “failed.”

“Our broken system endures, and the ongoing humanitarian and security crisis at our Southwest Border leaves many minors and families at extreme risk of being exploited by traffickers, human smugglers, gangs, and other nefarious actors seeking to profit at their expense. Activist courts, congressional inaction, and criminals intent on breaking our laws stand in the way of confronting illegal and uncontrolled migration threatening our safety and security.”

“What was a crisis, is now a full-fledged emergency,” Nielsen said, adding, “This cannot be a partisan issue.”

Nielsen suggested the law enforcement at the border is demanding the continued construction of a wall along the southern border, for laws to be strengthened, and for the proper tools and resources.

The rise of apprehensions at the southern border more than doubled in February from the following year, jumping from 36,751 apprehensions in February 2018 to 76,103 in February 2019.

Photo provided by the DHS

Immigration at the southern border also saw a spike in the number of groups trying to cross illegally into the U.S. with 70 large groups of 100 or more individuals attempting to cross in the fiscal year 2019, compared to 13 large groups the previous year, according to the DHS.

Check out the statistics provided by the DHS below:

  • In the fiscal year 2018, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) made more than 1,500 human trafficking arrests – 97 percent of them for sex-trafficking.
  • Last year, ICE officers removed more than 10,000 known or suspected gang members already in our country illegally.
  • In the last two years alone, ICE officers have arrested 266,000 aliens with criminal records including those convicted of nearly 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 homicides.
  • 20,000 children were illegally smuggled into the U.S. during December 2018, alone.

The 12-year high comes at a time that President Donald Trump is pushing for a national emergency declaration on the southern border in hopes of receiving more funding to construct physical barriers, but he’s being hit with criticism from leaders in both the Democrat and Republican Party as many seek to block his emergency declaration.

Nielsen: ‘Illegal Immigration Is Simply Spiraling Out of Control’ — National Review

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen testifies before a House Homeland Security Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., March 6, 2019. (Joshua Roberts/Reuters)

Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen on Wednesday warned lawmakers that the recent surge in illegal immigration at the southern border could overwhelm U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents if they are not provided additional resources.

“In February, we saw a 30 percent jump over the previous month, with agents apprehending or encountering nearly 75,000 aliens,” Nielsen told the House Committee on Homeland Security. “This is an 80 percent increase over the same time last year. And I can report today that CBP is forecasting the problem will get even worse this spring as the weather warms up.”

“We want to strengthen legal immigration and welcome more individuals through a merit-based system that enhances our economic vitality and the vibrancy of our diverse nation. We also will continue to uphold our humanitarian ideals,” she said. “But illegal immigration is simply spiraling out of control and threatening public safety and national security.”

Nielsen’s testimony came just hours after the Trump administration released a report that details a significant rise in the number of illegal immigrants being apprehended at the southern border. Since the beginning of the fiscal year, CPB has apprehended 268,000 such immigrants at the border, an average of nearly 2,000 per day and the highest rate since 2007.

In addition to raising alarms about the general increase in attempted border crossings, Nielsen told lawmakers that an surge in unaccompanied children and family units arriving at the border poses its own unique problem, as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) lacks the resources to detain families together for long periods of time while they await their asylum hearings.

“Over 60 percent of the current flow are family units and unaccompanied alien children, and 60 percent are non-Mexican,” she said, likely referencing the provision in U.S. immigration law that requires that asylum-seekers native to non-contiguous countries must be allowed to remain in the U.S. while their asylum applications are adjudicated.

According to the data released Wednesday, the number of family units arriving at the border has increased 338 percent since the previous fiscal year while the number of unaccompanied minors rose by 58 percent.

Nielsen spoke as Congress is preparing to pass legislation to block President Trump’s declaration of a national emergency, which was designed to re-appropriate $5.7 billion in additional border-security funding for the construction of Trump’s long-promised border wall. She warned lawmakers that if additional resources are not allocated, U.S. national security will be thoroughly compromised.

“Our capacity is already severely strained, but these increases will overwhelm the system entirely,” Nielsen said. “This is not a ‘manufactured’ crisis. This is truly an emergency.”

Vaccine skeptics under siege | Michelle Malkin

Watch out. Capitol Hill and Silicon Valley have locked their sights on the next targets of a frightening free speech-squelching purge: independent citizens who dare to raise questions online about the safety and efficacy of vaccines.

I’m vaccinated. My children are up to date. There’s no dispute that vaccines have saved untold lives. But over the years, I’ve voiced my concerns about vaccine claims and government coercion in my newspaper columns and blog posts. These concerns include my objections to Gardasil mandates for schoolchildren in Texas and California; schools’ threatening parents with jail time for refusing chickenpox shots for their kids; ineffectiveness of the flu vaccine; contamination issues at vaccine plants abroad; lack of data on vaccines’ long-term and synergistic effects on children; and pharma-funded politicians’ financial conflicts of interest.

In 2004, I recounted my family’s firsthand experience with bully doctors who balked at even the mildest questioning of the wisdom of the newborn hepatitis B immunization. When my husband and I asked if we could simply delay this particular shot, as the vaccine is for a virus that is contracted mostly through intravenous drug use and sexual contact, my son’s pediatrician angrily kicked us out of her practice.

Does this informed skepticism make me and other like-minded parents public health menaces, as the World Health Organization has proclaimed? Are we “sociopaths,” as a journalist at The Atlantic once sneered? Apparently so.

At a Senate hearing on Tuesday, Washington state’s public health secretary, John Wiesman, demanded that the feds launch a national campaign to counter “anti-vaccine” groups that are spreading what he condemned as “false information.” Weisman called for increased funding from the Centers for Disease Control to combat opponents of the state’s push to prevent parents from opting their children out of immunizations for personal or philosophical reasons. Health officials have blamed vaccine critics’ social media influence for recent measles outbreaks. So Wiesman further urged Twitter, Facebook and Google to “use whatever mechanism they have available to stop promoting pseudoscience.”

Let’s be clear: Misinformation of all kinds abounds on the internet. The world’s most influential “mainstream” media websites and celebrity social media accounts, for example, recklessly fanned the flames of the recent Covington Catholic High School and Jussie Smollett hate crime hoaxes. No one in Washington has called for the boycott of The Washington Post or TMZ over their false and misleading stories. But for some reason (hint: pharmaceutical big business), politicians and government bureaucrats are now hell-bent on deplatforming any and all dissenters who challenge mandatory vaccine regimens.

Under pressure from Rep. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., Amazon pulled the documentaries “Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe,” “Man Made Epidemic” and “Shoot ’em Up: The Truth About Vaccines” from its Prime Video streaming service. Last week, Google-owned YouTube moved to demonetize “anti-vaccine” channels, tweak algorithms to suppress vaccine “conspiracy” videos and combat “vaccine hesitancy.” Pinterest blocks users from using the search terms “vaccine,” “vaccinations” and “anti-vax,” no matter the quality of the results. Facebook plans to downgrade vaccine skeptics’ content on newsfeeds, recommended user groups and ads.

Is there junk science on the “anti-vaccine” side? Sure. But you can’t address this issue without also addressing the problem with physicians and public health flacks who are unwilling to discuss the full risks of vaccines as well as their benefits; pro-vaccination groups that provide incorrect information about vaccines’ duration of protection; physicians who refuse to care for children who are not “fully” vaccinated; and the comparative risk-benefit ratios of different vaccines.

As for efficacy, consider this new data: A recent whooping cough outbreak at the private Harvard-Westlake School in Los Angeles last week resulted in 30 students contracting the illness, all of whom were vaccinated. Of 18 unvaccinated students, none caught the disease. Will pointing this out on my Facebook and Twitter accounts bring down the Silicon Valley ban hammer?

Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who happens to be a physician and parent himself, was the lone voice of dissent at the Senate hearing this week. While acknowledging that the benefits of vaccines generally outweigh their risks, he noted the plain truth that “it is wrong to say there are no risks to vaccines.” He added that over $4 billion has been paid by the federal Vaccine Injury Compensation Program for adults and children who have been injured or died as a result of receiving federally recommended childhood vaccines.

Is it unacceptable fearmongering to raise that point? How about to share information on vaccine manufacturers’ astonishing exemption from product liability? Or to point parents to new research findings on brain injuries caused by vaccines, which can be found at VaccinePapers.org? Or to link them to a recent statement by the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, which “strongly opposes federal interference in medical decisions, including mandated vaccines.”

When it comes to protecting our children, skepticism is always the best medicine. We need more free speech, not less. Those who seek to suppress debate and discussion in the name of the “public good” are the true health threats.

Indoctrination: ‘Coexist’ With Lies and False Teachings? — Stand Up For The Truth

Government education in America kicked God, prayer, the Bible, and the Ten Commandments out of public schools over fifty years ago leaving a massive spiritual void. The doors were then flung open to Atheism, evolution, Humanism, witchcraft, Islam, Liberalism, sexual promiscuity, the LGBTQ agenda, and recently, Buddhism.

Our tax dollars now support the teaching of an ABC curriculum: Anything But Christ. All the religions in the world cannot possibly be true, but in a secular culture influenced by postmodernism, people don’t want to hear there is only one way to God. But if you’re sincerely seeking truth, I suggest you take a look at Jesus before trying everything else.

But many people prefer the coexist philosophy even though world religions contradict each other. The coexist slogan was actually created to oppose Christianity, and demand that we keep our beliefs to ourselves. Public schools follow this philosophy and insist we conform and tolerate all behavior as well as other religious claims.

Just last year, middle school students were asked to write the Islamic declaration of faith known as the “shahada,” which pledges allegiance to the prophet Muhammad and the Muslim god, Allah.

And now, the American Center for Law and Justice has received complaints from parents in eleven states so far about the growing practice of teachers incorporating Buddhism-based mindfulness practices into everyday curriculum of elementary school age children…

“Some students are required to participate in as many as three meditation or mindfulness sessions each school day. Most of the programs include audio recordings encouraging children to empty their minds or watch their thoughts float away on a cloud. Others encourage children to be one with the universe; …several teachers, upon learning of the undisputable religious connection between mindfulness and Buddhism, have ceased using the curriculum and practicing mindfulness in their classrooms.”

…Jesus said He is the Truth, and compelling evidence is available supporting the Bible as being reliable, accurate, and true.

But there’s a problem: recent Barna Group research shows nearly 60% of Americans agree with the philosophy:

“Many religions can lead to eternal life; there is no ‘one true religion.’

Like it or not, it all comes down to what we believe about Jesus. And what about other belief systems? Who do other religions say Jesus is?

  • Bahai teaches that Jesus was a messenger, a manifestation of God; that heaven and hell are not real, there is no Trinity, and all the different religions are part of one single plan by God.
  • Buddhists say Jesus was just an enlightened man, that we will be reincarnated, and we can work our way to salvation or higher consciousness. There is an eight-fold plan to enlightenment, and a few goals of Buddhism include avoiding the extremes of pain and pleasure, and to eradicate worldly desires.
  • Christian Science rejects Jesus’ sacrifice and teaches that sin doesn’t exist so there’s no need for a savior. God is referred to as “the Father-Mother,” known as the Divine Mind, having no personhood or personality…

March 6, 2019 Afternoon Verse Of The Day

9. For with thee is the fountain of life. The Psalmist here confirms the doctrine of the preceding verse, the knowledge of which is so profitable that no words can adequately express it. As the ungodly profane even the best of God’s gifts by their wicked abuse of them, unless we observe the distinction which I have stated, it were better for us to perish a hundred times of hunger, than to be fed abundantly by the goodness of God. The ungodly do not acknowledge that it is in God they live, move, and have their being, but rather imagine that they are sustained by their own power; and, accordingly, David, on the contrary, here affirms from the experience of the godly, and as it were in their name, that the fountain of life is in God. By this he means, that there is not a drop of life to be found without him, or which flows not from his grace. The metaphor of light, in the last clause of the verse, is tacitly most emphatic, denoting that men are altogether destitute of light, except in so far as the Lord shines upon them. If this is true of the light of this life, how shall we be able to behold the light of the heavenly world, unless the Spirit of God enlighten us? for we must maintain that the measure of understanding with which men are by nature endued is such, that “the light shineth in darkness, but the darkness comprehendeth it not,” (John 1:5;) and that men are enlightened only by a supernatural gift. But it is the godly alone who perceive that they derive their light from God, and that, without it, they would continue, as it were, buried and smothered in darkness.[1]

The fountain of life (v. 9)

Here is another marvellous manifestation of mercy: God is the source of all that his people need for the challenges of life. From his limitless supply flows a never-ending stream of strength, wisdom and guidance.

He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater;

He sendeth more strength when the labours increase.

To added afflictions, He addeth his mercy;

To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.

His love has no limit; His grace has no measure;

His pow’r has no boundary known unto men.

For out of His infinite riches in Jesus,

He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again!

(Annie Johnson Flint).

The light (v. 9)

Yet another expression or manifestation of the mercy of God is his light or truth. As we look into God’s Word of truth, we discover the truths we most urgently need.[2]

36:9 In Christ is the fountain or source of life. “In Him was life, and the life was the light of men” (John 1:4). In that light we see light. Just as natural light reveals things in their true form, so the light of God enables us to see things as He does. It enables us to form correct estimates of spiritual realities, of the world, of others, and of ourselves.

Corot, the great landscape painter once said, “When I find myself in one of Nature’s beautiful places, I grow angry with my pictures.” Pleased with them in his studio, the artist was humbled in sight of Nature’s glory. Judging ourselves in the light of the world, we may easily find grounds for personal satisfaction; but to judge ourselves in the light of the Lord, to measure ourselves by the Divine standard, is to put our pride to shame. (Choice Gleanings)[3]

36:9 — For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we see light.

God offers the only real life there is. When we give ourselves to Him and walk in the light He provides us, in His Word and by His Spirit, we begin to see more and more how we can enjoy life to the fullest.[4]

36:9 In Your light we see light. It is likely that this phraseology bears both literal and figurative significance, i.e., God is the source of physical life and also of spiritual life. The Lord is the Source and Sustainer of all light and life.[5]

36:9 The fountain of life is a source for all that refreshes and sustains life; cf. Prov. 10:11; 13:14; 14:27; 16:22. To see light is an idiom for “experience life” (e.g., Job 33:28; Ps. 49:19; in Isa. 9:2 it is light that shines into darkness), and this depends on God’s light that illuminates the world for his people.[6]

36:9 the fountain of life A symbol of renewal and vitality, this is a common term in Proverbs (Prov 13:14; 14:27; 16:22).[7]

36:9 fountain of life. God is the source of all life. The doctrine of eternal life is more fully revealed in the New Testament (e.g., Matt. 22:31, 32; Luke 23:42, 43; John 3:16; Rev. 21:3–7; 22:3–5). See “Resurrection and Glorification” at 1 Cor. 15:21.[8]

36:9 Wellspring of life is used elsewhere to describe the Lord as the source of life (Jr 2:13; 17:13). Light can refer to truth (43:3) or salvation (27:1). The combination of life and light is particularly significant in John’s Gospel and is applied to Jesus Christ (Jn 1:4; 8:12).[9]
