Common Core Sited as Reason for Test Scores Plummeting Nationwide

Absolute Truth from the Word of God

Ever since Common Core Standards (CCS for the rest of this article) Cirriculum was  implemented in public schools in most states; there has been outrage by teachers, students and parents. As a teacher, I have found it interesting that teaching appears so hard. I once commented to a friend that I can teach falling off a car. Does that mean it’s not hard work? Of course it’s hard work. Being in school, daily, sharing and instructing, grading papers, guiding, and teaching both the basics and how to think for yourselves, is always an undergoing process. And I must add, that when I look back, remembering the road I went down to finally understand this concept of teaching to understanding, I realize it took years and experience, and I’m still learning and developing. Having said that, the understanding of what and how to teach is really not that difficult, but it takes time and energy, but if you strongly understand and believe what you’re doing, then good teachers find it a joy to teach. Basics, math, reading to understanding, writing in various forms and with good grammar, and so forth. If kids and teens can do these things, but moreso work hard and realize things for themselves, the education will tend to take care of itself. Something to think about.
