April 24 Where Your Victory Was Won

scripture reading: Luke 23:26–46
key verse: Romans 11:36

For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

The cross of Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of God’s plan for salvation through the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son. That is why the Lord Jesus Christ cried, “It is finished!” (John 19:30) as He drew His final breath on Golgotha. Prophecy was fulfilled; redemption was accomplished.

Also the Cross is the keystone for individual destiny and deliverance. Your eternal state rests on your acceptance or rejection of God’s redemptive work on Calvary. There your sins were forgiven because God’s Son was sacrificed in your stead and on your behalf.

There your sin nature was judged and rendered powerless; and your archenemy, Satan, was defeated. God dealt with the old person by crucifying it with Christ so that you may enjoy a new quality of life.

You experience the transforming power of the Cross when your faith is anchored in its truth. By faith in Jesus, you are saved from eternal death and delivered from sin’s domain. You overcome all obstacles, all barriers, all habits, all circumstances, by total reliance on the conquering Christ who shattered sin’s penalty and power on Calvary. Christ’s cross secured it all.

Hallelujah! Victory is mine through the Cross. O God, I anchor my faith in its truth. I rely on its power to overcome all obstacles, barriers, habits, and circumstances in my life.[1]
