Rouhani: Iran will continue to scale back nuclear deal commitments
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on…that his nation will continue to scale back from its nuclear deal commitments as it does not yet see “positive signals” from other countries… Rouhani was speaking in the Dushanbe summit…in…Tajikistan, the goal of the summit is to produce a declaration covering all the issues within the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) among all 27 nations represented.

Hong Kong extradition protests: Government suspends bill
The Hong Kong government has suspended its highly controversial plan to allow extraditions to mainland China, Chief Executive Carrie Lam has announced. She had previously refused to scrap the bill despite mass protests from Hong Kong residents. “I feel deep sorrow and regret that deficiencies in our work – and various other factors – have stirred up substantial controversies,” she said.

Venezuela crisis: Migrants dash to cross Peru border
Thousands of Venezuelans have rushed to cross into Peru in a bid to beat the introduction of tougher migration laws. Under new laws introduced on Saturday, Venezuelans need to have a passport and visa to enter Peru. Authorities say about 6,000 Venezuelans crossed from neighbouring Ecuador alone on Thursday, three times the daily average.

Gulf of Oman tanker attacks: Trump dismisses Iran denials
US President Donald Trump has dismissed Iran’s insistence it had no involvement with the attacks on two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman. Mr Trump cited footage that Washington says shows Iranian forces in a small boat taking an unexploded mine off the hull of one of the ships. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres said the truth needed to be “clearly established”.

Hackers That Took Down Saudi Oil Site Probing U.S. Power Grid
A group of hackers that shut down a Saudi Arabian oil and natural gas facility in 2017 is now targeting electric utilities, according to the cybersecurity company Dragos Inc. The group, Xenotime, has been probing utilities in the U.S. and Asia-Pacific regions since late 2018, Hanover, Maryland-based Dragos said in a blog post Friday. They’ve focused mostly on electronic control systems that manage the operations at industrial sites, Dragos said.

UK to send Royal Marines to Persian Gulf to protect British ships
The UK is to send 100 Royal Marines to the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf to protect British ships and other interests in the region, as the fallout from the attack on two tankers last week escalates, The Times reported. As the pressure increases after Norwegian and Japanese oil tankers were attacked last week, Britain has joined the US, Saudi Arabia and others in accusing Iran of carrying out the attacks.

IAI’s ELTA to introduce new Multi-System Multi-Mission Radar
Israel Aerospace Industries subsidiary ELTA Systems will announce the latest generation of its ELM-2084 MS-Multi-Mission Radar (Multi-Sensor MMR) at the Paris Air Show which opens outside the French capital on Monday.
