October 15 Discovering Your Life Message

Scripture reading: Psalm 119:1–8

Key verse: Psalm 119:57

You are my portion, O Lord;

I have said that I would keep Your words.

God builds a life message in a variety of ways. Never seek to have the same message that another believer has. Though you may gain many insightful lessons from those who are strong in their faith, your life is unique and special before God. He has a message for you that no one else can share.

That is why it is imperative to ask Him to give you a love for His Word. Studying His Word and committing yourself to prayer are sure ways to learn more about Him and develop spiritually. In times of meditation and worship, He reveals His desire and will in a mighty way. Nothing can so train you for life like the time you spend alone with Jesus.

This is where He can motivate you toward certain goals and aspirations. Many people long to know God’s will for their lives. They feel as though they do not have a life message, but God has one for them. The heavenly Father doesn’t overlook anyone.

The key to discovering your life message is spending time alone with Him. Doing this takes real discipline and determination. Realize there remains a battle for your thoughts, and the enemy to your soul is continually seeking to throw you off and discourage you. Stay on course, and you will soon have an effective life message to share with others.

Father, keep me on course with Your will and Your Word. Give me a life message that will touch the lives of others.[1]
