November 19 Communion with God

scripture reading: Psalm 95
key verses: Psalm 95:1–2

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord!
Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation.
Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving;
Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms.

The Word of God gives you the basis for knowing and worshiping God, clearing away the obstacles of ignorance, apathy, and error. But when you take what you have learned about God in the Scriptures and pour your heart out through prayer, worship is fully realized on this terrestrial ball.

When you pray with your lips and your heart, you magnify God. Worship is not a subject for a textbook but the outpouring of your dependence on and love for Jesus Christ. Do not let prayer become a list. Do not let prayer drift into repetition. Do not let prayer be just a discipline.

Allow your prayer life to be a living channel of worship, telling God how much you think of Him. He wants the glory that is due His name, and your prayerful worship ascribes His worth. Prayer intimately enters the throne room of God, allowing you to exalt and glorify your Savior. Prayer links heaven and earth. When you pray, always begin with “Hallowed be Your name,” and all else will fit into place. Worship is first in heaven and on earth, and communion with God is its highest expression.

Dear Lord, Your name is hallowed! Intimate communion with You is my goal. Transform my prayer life into a living channel of worship.[1]
