The LORD himself goes before you … he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.
(Deuteronomy 31:8, NIV)
This year you’re going to walk a prepared path! God has your next twelve months planned out. Ask Him, and He’ll reveal it to you a day at a time (sometimes hourly). David said, “You chart the path ahead of me … every moment You know where I am. You know what I am going to say before I even say it. You both precede me and follow me and place Your hand of blessing on my head” (Psalms 139:2–5, TLB).
Take some time today to get alone with God. You’ll be glad you did! As you face this year, you need to know that the one who fed and clothed His children in the wilderness for forty years and never missed a day will watch over you every night as you sleep and meet you every morning when you awake. Nothing will come up this year that He can’t handle. For you “Happy New Year” isn’t a wish—it’s a guarantee! Do what David said, “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass” (Psalms 37:5). You’ll be able to sing:
Great is Thy faithfulness; Great is Thy faithfulness;
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed thy hand hath provided,
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!
He’ll be with you every day of this year!
