White House Coronavirus Task Force Briefing – 5:00pm Livestream (Rose Garden)… — The Last Refuge

Unfortunately, with President Trump effectively communicating the latest information on the federal efforts to mitigate COVID-19, more corporate U.S. resistance media have decided not to carry the live broadcasts from the White House task force briefings.

Today at 5:00pm ET the White House will hold a briefing for the public and media on the latest mitigation efforts against the coronavirus. [Livestream Links Below]

Transwomen Rape Female Prison Officers — That is, men posing as women rape women.  Brought to you by the Left — including the “Christian” Left.

NY Times Admits to Changing Sexual Assault Story at Request of Biden Campaign — I’m definitely not surprised that they did it, but I’m slightly surprised that they admitted it.

Hmm, Children are Thriving Being Home With Their Mothers — I hope this is one of the long-lasting things from the virus.  Kids need to spend more time with parents.  These results may be anecdotal at this stage but I think a lot of parents will be motivated to make changes when they see how much being at home reduces kids’ anxiety.

Wuhan Coronavirus Fat Shames — I’ve seen more news on the virus than I’ve wanted to, yet haven’t seen mentions about the high lifestyle-related comorbidities.

You don’t catch diabetes from a handshake. To acknowledge personal lifestyle choices and cultural differences is the ultimate blasphemy of progressive doctrine. Imagine if, instead of spending millions of the rapidly-depleting state budget on a ‘COVID-19 racial disparity task force’, as kooky Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer announced this week, she frankly told the public it all comes down to personal lifestyle choices — eat well and exercise and you’ll probably survive the next one.

As reports of blatant racism against black people surface in China, we eagerly await a response from the NBA — They’ll ignore this because they care about money more than racism.

Virus-Panicked Liberal Gun Buyers Are Getting Angry When They Discover Their Own Gun Control Laws — Great story, and not just for the irony. This could be one of those profound long-term impacts that will come from this pandemic: A fairly significant amount of people rethinking their views on guns – and perhaps more!  Hopefully lots of people are re-thinking their stereotypes about guns, gun owners and gun laws.  This should be a great campaign issue for Republicans.

More than a dozen of these buyers (men and women) actually thought that since they filled out and signed everything, they could just walk out and go home with the firearm. Several actually said they saw how easy it was to buy a gun on TV and why did they have to fill out all these forms. The majority of these first timers lost their minds when we went through the Ammo Law requirements. Most used language not normally heard, even in a gun range. We pointed out that since no one working here voted for these laws, then maybe they might know someone who did. And, maybe they should go back and talk to those people and tell them to re-think their position on firearms – we were trying to be nice.

We tried to look at just who the new firearm purchasers were and we believe that more than 60% of these individuals were first time buyers. I can’t describe the amount of fear in my staff as we had the buyers show proof of safe handling as part of the purchase process as required by law. You have never seen so many barrels pointed at sales staff and other customers. It was truly frightening. We had to keep stopping the process to give quick safety lessons. We are adding many more basic classes in the coming weeks and encouraged these buyers to please attend. We hope they do.

Students demand fee reduction after university goes online over coronavirus — This is great!  I heard there are even lawsuits out there over this.  Hopefully the students will realize that with the massive endowments these universities have  they could easily provide refunds, but the schools are only commies with other people’s money.  The schools didn’t really care about them.

But here’s the best part: If the schools argue that online classes provide the same experience, then why go to the campuses at all and waste all that money?  Just learn from home!  Then you can avoid all their politically correct nonsense and rules and just learn.

No One Organizes A Mob — Great points. Technology is accelerating how quickly people will give up freedoms, health and money out of fear.

What is ballot harvesting?  I can’t believe this we’re even talking about this.  Pure fraud.  Anyone pushing it is full of malice.

China Impressed By Michigan Governor’s Totalitarian Policies — The Babylon Bee

BEIJING—In a candid speech Tuesday, President Xi Jinping stated he was “pretty impressed” by Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s handling of the coronavirus outbreak, specifically praising her totalitarian policies.

China’s dictator said he was actually a little jealous he hadn’t thought of some of her ideas himself.

“She has some pretty great ideas — stopping people from gathering together even with their families, ordering people not to buy seeds — they can’t even plant their own food now! We hadn’t even thought of some of these innovative approaches,” the Communist president said. “We’re always looking for more ways to oppress people, and we were really inspired by Whitmer’s approach.”

“Not bad, Gretchen.”

Other dictators across the world also chimed in with words of support and affirmation for Whitmer’s policies, from North Korean ruler Kim Jong Un to Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei.

The Chinese government quickly offered Governor Whitmer a consulting position with the Communist Party of China, which she readily accepted.

Casting Crowns, Franklin Graham Teaming Up With Anti-Trinitarian, T.D. Jakes and Bethel Cultists for “Hope” Event — Reformation Charlotte

It should never really surprise us anymore to see the endless compromise that takes place in the Church. The number of false teachers and false converts clearly outweighs the true in all of Christendom — and that doesn’t even count the Roman Catholic Church. Nonetheless, Satan and Democrats never let a good crisis go to waste and this time, the coronavirus is creating a melting pot of all kinds of “Christian” speakers and music artists.

In a silly online conference event coming up Sunday night, April 19, a host of people you’d never think you’d see together are joining up for “Hope Rising” in order to raise money for COVID-19 and to bring the hope of Jesus, one can only guess, to a bunch of people in their homes.

Featured in this line-up are big names like Franklin Graham, Newsboys, For King and Country, Kirk Cameron, and more… but wait, they’re joining up with anti-Trinitarians like T.D. Jakes and extreme charismatic cultists out of Bethel Redding like Cody Carnes for this. And they want your money.

Man Assures Wife He Will Get Around To Fixing The Leaky Faucet During The Next Global Pandemic — The Babylon Bee

CHRISTOWN, GA—Local man Timothy Anderson assured his wife, Staci, that he would get around to fixing the leaky faucet during the next once-in-a-lifetime pandemic that shuts down the economy and forces everyone to stay in their homes indefinitely.

“The next time the government shuts everything down, honey, I promise I’ll dig out my toolbox and get right on it,” he said as he plopped down on the couch for some Red Dead Redemption 2. “I’m just really busy right now. I could really use another one of these pandemic things to give me the time to take care of basic household maintenance.”

“Just as soon as another cataclysmic outbreak occurs, I’m on it.”

Later on, Anderson confided in reporters that he sometimes feels Staci is being really unreasonable. “I mean, just because I’m home all day doing nothing doesn’t mean I have all the time in the world to do some easy household repairs,” he said. “I love her and everything, but sometimes she can be a little over-the-top. What’s next? Am I supposed to change the year-old oil in the car? It’s like, lay off me a little bit.”

“There’s always the next pandemic.”

More Government Officials Calling For Common-Sense Religion Control — The Babylon Bee

U.S.—More government officials across the country are calling for common-sense religion control.

The officials insist they don’t want to ban religion entirely —  they just want some basic, common-sense laws to regulate it. From background checks to licensing requirements and forced church closures, state officials everywhere are leading the charge to implement much-needed regulations on the practice of religion.

“It’s past time that we begin implementing basic, common-sense laws against potentially problematic religions,” said Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear. “Nobody’s coming for your religion — we just want some safe and sane restrictions on it.”

“If we save even one life, it’s worth it.”

Measures proposed by many state legislatures and governors include the following:

  • Background checks on purchases of holy books
  • Age restrictions before religious teaching can be given
  • Limit to number of theology books one can own
  • Pastoral licensing
  • Bans on high-capacity church buildings
  • Stringent restrictions on concealed Bible carry
  • A 10-day waiting period after you click on a sermon on YouTube

God and Illness — Wretched

Episode 2669-

Bad things don’t happen TO us, they happen FOR us – do you truly believe that? We know that God uses both good and bad things to help us to grow, but that can be hard to remember in the midst of suffering. This episode is an encouraging reminder of God’s sovereignty and goodness – even when you’re dealing with illness or other trials.

Practical Bible Study: Where to Begin — The Master’s Seminary Blog

Stage 1: Context

Location! Location! Location! If you’ve ever consulted a real estate agent about the first step in finding a home, you’ve heard this refrain. You don’t begin with square footage or the number of bedrooms, although those are crucial parts of the discussion. You begin by identifying the area on the map in which you want to live.

The study of the Bible is no different. When digging deeper into the meaning of a biblical text, the first order of business is to remember the refrain, Context! Context! Context!1 From the Latin terms con (meaning “together”) and textus(meaning “woven”), the word context refers to the surrounding elements into which a given text was woven by its author.

These surrounding elements are essential for giving the text its meaning and purpose. For example, think of the biblical text you want to study as a pocket that has been sown into an article of clothing. The meaning of that piece of material comes from its connection to the rest of the garment. Moreover, the way in which that piece of material has been connected will determine its usage—whether it is a front pocket on a pair of jeans to hold your keys, a shirt pocket to hold one of those nerdy pen protectors, or an inside pocket on a jacket to keep your passport safe from pickpocketers. If you came across that piece of material detached from its article of clothing, you would scarce know what to do with it. It is the rest of the garment that gives that piece of material meaning.

The same is true for any given statement of Scripture. For instance, take Jesus’ words in Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three have gathered in my name, I am there in their midst.” These words have been invoked countless times over the past weeks in response to the social distancing measures prescribed by the government in response to the COVID-19 epidemic. Even though we can’t meet as usual with our local church, we can be encouraged by the promise of Jesus’ presence even when we meet at home in a group as small as two. But is this the proper use of Jesus’ words in Matthew 18:20? No. His words have been detached from their context—a context that actually refers to Jesus’ instruction concerning church discipline! True is the saying, “A text without a context becomes a pretext.”

It is helpful to recognize that a text’s surrounding elements can be grouped into two categories—one of which is unwritten and the other of which is written. The first category refers to historical context, to that non-written dimension of elements like the geography, culture, and specific circumstances of the writer and his immediate audience. The second category refers to literary context, to that textual dimension that includes the immediate and larger context of the writer’s written work and even the antecedent Scripture to which the writer may refer. Both categories of context are important, and the student of Scripture must get a handle on these elements before he endeavors to dig deep into the text itself. How does this look in practice?

1. Discover the text’s historical context.

The goal of this step is to become acquainted with the world of the writer and his audience. It considers such things as: the identity of the writer; the place and time at which he wrote his text; the identity of the recipient(s); and the practical circumstance that precipitated the writing.

This step arises out of the reality that any given text of Scripture was recorded in response to an historical need for the word of God. In other words, it’s important first to understand that the texts were situational before we begin to consider the implications of their transcendence. We must grasp that they were timely before we can properly delight in their timelessness. It is this reality that gives the texts of Scripture the quality of clarity. They were God’s response to real needs, whether it was the need of the people of Israel as they prepared to enter the Promised Land (the book of Deuteronomy), the need of Jews returning from exile to repent of their complacency toward God’s law (the prophecy of Malachi), the need of a believing Roman official for accuracy concerning the life of Christ (the Gospel of Luke), or the need of seven local churches facing the challenges of stagnation, false teaching, and persecution (the book of Revelation). The goal is to begin with this context in the forefront of one’s mind—to read the text from the perspective of the original writer and his immediate audience.

How is this accomplished? Begin by reading the entire biblical book which contains the text you desire to study. The books of Scripture often provide significant historical details missed by students who dive immediately into the exegesis of the text. Next, review the “Introduction” to this book of Scripture in a study Bible, such as The MacArthur Study Bible or the ESV Study Bible. These introductions provide concise and accessible summaries about authorship, recipient, date, location, and occasion. Third, make the effort to access several of the best commentaries that contain introductory chapters dedicated to these background issues. This extra effort in background study will yield dividends later in the process.

2. Survey the text’s revelatory context.

Consider what parts of Scripture had already been delivered prior to the writing of the book in which your text is found. It is possible that this previous revelation is being assumed by the writer of your text, and so should be assumed by you as a reader as well.

For example, if you desire to dig deep into Daniel’s prayer recorded in Daniel 9, you’ll need to recognize that Daniel’s prayer was built upon his own study of the antecedent prophecies of Jeremiah—particularly Jeremiah’s prophecies of the “seventy years” (compare Dan. 9:2 with Jer. 25:11–12; 29:10). Consequently, you’ll need to begin there, where Daniel began. Or, if your goal is to understand Paul’s teaching on the Day of the Lord according to 1 Thessalonians 5:1–11, you’ll need first to trace the development of this concept chronologically in the Scriptures from its beginning in the Old Testament prophets. Otherwise, you’ll construct an understanding of the Day of the Lord in a vacuum—a vacuum which the apostle Paul did not share.

This step accounts for the progressive nature of special revelation. By recognizing where a text is located in the historical flow of divine revelation helps you identify the backdrop which gives a particular text meaning. This can be done through a quick step of consulting a chart listing all the books of the Bible and their assumed dates of composition (some books can be dated more accurately than others). A better and longer-term approach is to practice daily Bible reading chronologically—that is, reading through the books of Scripture according to their date of composition rather than according to the order in which they appear in our English Bibles.

3. Recognize the text’s book context.

This step identifies the scarlet thread that ties the biblical book together. It locates the foundation which supports and connects all the parts of the book from 1:1 to its end. In a word, it answers the question, Why was this book written?

Repeated reading of the book is fundamental to this step. In some cases, this repeated reading will uncover direct statements which indicate the writer’s overall purpose. These direct statements may occur at the beginning of a work (e.g., Jude 3), in the middle (e.g., 1 Tim. 3:15–16), or at the end (e.g., John 20:30–31). In other cases, this repeated reading will uncover recurring words or phrases which indirectly reveal the writer’s purpose. For example, Moses’ repetitive use of the phrase “these are the generations of” indicate that his purpose in writing the book of Genesis was to provide an account of origins (see Gen. 2:4; 6:9; 10:1; 11:10, 27; 25:12; 36:1, 9; 37:2).

At other times, a biblical book’s purpose will be more difficult to recognize. This is not a literary defect, but an intentional effort on the part of the writer to elicit careful consideration. After considering various clues (the chief exhortations in didactic books, the focus of narratives and their arrangement in historical books, etc.), you can find answers, once again, in the book introductions of a study Bible and in the introductory sections of good commentaries. The reader who thinks he knows the purpose of the biblical book, but cannot state it clearly in his own words, is most likely mistaken. A reader who successfully understands a biblical book’s central argument will be able to state it in a concise statement: “The purpose of this book is . . . .” Ultimately, the better you understand this book context, the better prepared you will be to interpret its contents.

4. Discern the text’s structural context.

The goal of this step is to detect the most prominent features of the book’s literary structure. It requires viewing the book as if under an x-ray machine, so that any given text can be appropriately placed within the book’s literary skeleton—not merely in terms of chapter and verse location, but in terms of the book’s flow of argument.

Once again, repeated readings and surveys of the book are important in order to identify its main sections. You must look for crucial transitions in the writer’s thought, transitions which may be biographical, historical, geographical, logical, or theological in nature. As you read, begin to construct a working outline. This outline should be general at first, focused on the areas where major transitions occur (e.g., Eph. 4:1–3 serving as the transition from Paul’s indicatives in chapters 1–3 to his imperatives in chapters 4–6). But as you read in progressively greater detail, add depth to your outline. Then, consult the outlines provided in the appropriate book introduction in a study Bible and your select commentaries to review the accuracy of your own findings.

This outline provides a crucial interpretive map for handling your text later in the process. Once you begin the careful work of exegesis, you will encounter moments where decisive interpretive decisions are necessary. Crucial to success will be your ability to connect the decisions you make to the emphasis the writer is making in the particular section in which your text is found.

5. Identify the text’s immediate context.

The breadth of contextual analysis was broadest in the first step. Since then the focus has progressively narrowed. Now, in this final step, the focus is most restricted. It is turned upon the paragraph that precedes the text you aim to study, and the paragraph that follows it. Spend time acquainting yourself with the contents of these paragraphs by repeated, careful reading.

Bernard Ramm provides a helpful illustration to explain the importance of these entry- and exit-paragraphs:

The material before the passage is the radar which guides the approach, and the following material is the radar of the leaving. And if we can track the material approaching and leaving the particular passage, we have the framework in which the passage is to be understood.2

Indeed, the importance of this immediate context cannot be overemphasized. This writer has heard numerous sermons over the years by students who have made assertions in their expositions which clearly exposed their ignorance of the surrounding paragraphs. This context is no less mandatory for sound Bible interpretation than the radar which guides a plane’s landing or departure.

Every interpreter must recognize that the more he interprets apart from context,
the more he interprets according to convenience

The need here is not a better understanding of one’s own context, or even of the context of another contemporary reader! Indeed, we hear all too often today that the best way to minimize the influence of one’s own bias is to read the text of Scripture through the experience of the other sex, from the perspective of a different culture, or with the lens of a different skin color. These are all beside the point. The need of the hour is to learn to interpret the biblical text in its biblical context. Anything else will lead to a pretext for error.

[This article is the first of a four-part series summarizing a sound approach to Bible study.]

[1] But someone might counter, “Shouldn’t prayer be the first order of business in Bible study?” Yes, and no. Prayer is not only the first order of business, but the second, and third, and fourth—all the way to the end. Because prayer must permeate the entire process of Bible study, it is best not to consign it to a specific step.

Indifference to Doctrine — The Aquila Report

We live in a culture that often promotes indifference, and many churches have subscribed to this indifference because, they argue, doctrine is difficult, doctrine isn’t attractional, and doctrine divides. It’s true—doctrine does divide true Christians from false Christians.

The proper study of doctrine is not easy. It takes time, a lot of hard work, and much prayer. For those reasons, many people don’t study doctrine. Others don’t study doctrine because they think it is just for professionals, and even some pastors don’t study doctrine because they think it is just for scholars. Still, there are others who don’t study doctrine because they are indifferent to it. They are content with being fed milk and knowing only the basics of the faith, but they are largely apathetic to pursuing the doctrinal meat of the faith.

I find it hard to tolerate this kind of indifference in myself and in other Christians. Indifference when it comes to what we believe is deplorable, for how can we be indifferent to those vital truths that can save or damn our souls? As one Puritan pastor said, “Indifference is the mother of heresy.” If we become indifferent about doctrine, we will soon become indifferent about Scripture and eventually indifferent about God.

UPDATE: US NIH Awarded Wuhan Lab that Studied Bat Coronavirus a $3.7 Million US Grant — AFTER WARNINGS ABOUT THEIR RISKY TESTS — The Gateway Pundit

As early as 2018 US State Department officials warned about safety risks at the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab on scientists conducting risky tests with the bat coronavirus.

US officials made several trips to the Wuhan laboratory.

Despite the warnings the US National Institute of Health (NIH) awarded a $3.7 million grant to the Wuhan lab studying the bat virus.  This was after State Department warned about the risky tests going on in the lab.

This is unbelievable!

The deadly China coronavirus that started in China sometime in late 2019 has now circled the globe.  Evidence suggests that the coronavirus didn’t come naturally.  We still don’t know whether the deadly virus was leaked intentionally or if it was an accident.
But we do know that the Chinese did attempt to market a cure for the coronavirus to the world in January after the virus began to spread.
According to the report from Wuhan the coronavirus came from either the Wuhan Center for Disease Control and Prevention or Wuhan Institute of Virology in Wuhan, China.

These reports linking bats to the coronavirus started making the rounds back in January. A research paper published in the Wuhan Centre for Disease Control and Prevention determined the source of the coronavirus is a laboratory near the Seafood Market in Wuhan.

On Monday The Gateway Pundit reported that the China coronavirus has connections to former leader of the Chinese Communist Party, Jiang Zemin. For starters, Jiang is the grandfather of Jiang Zhicheng,  who has a controlling interest in WuXi AppTec, which controls Fosun Pharma.

Chart via  Yaacov Apelbaum

And now we know that US officials took several trips to Wuhan and the NIH under Dr. Fauci gave the China Wuhan lab a nearly $4 million grant.

Via Lou Dobbs Tonight:

FOX News reported:

A Chinese laboratory at the center of new theories about how the coronavirus pandemic started was the subject of multiple urgent warnings inside the U.S. State Department two years ago, according to a new report.

U.S. Embassy officials warned in January 2018 about inadequate safety at the Wuhan Institute of Virology lab and passed on information about scientists conducting risky research on coronavirus from bats, The Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Those cables have renewed speculation inside the U.S. government about whether Wuhan-based labs were the source of the novel coronavirus, although no firm connection has been established. The theory, however, has gained traction in recent days.

The United Kingdom has said that the idea that the virus, which has turned into a full-blown global pandemic, was leaked from a Wuhan lab is “no longer being discounted.”

Say No To the Corona Alarmists – And Shonky Statistics — CultureWatch

The actual corona numbers offer us a different picture than what the alarmists are giving us:

OK, it is time for my daily dose of reality regarding the corona crisis. It has become necessary to try to offset some of the panic-mongering, fear-mongering, and just plain hype surrounding COVID-19. Yes it is a real problem requiring real solutions, but constantly running with Chicken Little and It’s the End of the World scenarios helps no one.

So let me once again try to take a dispassionate look at the numbers. Of course numbers alone do not tell us everything, and the numbers have to be interpreted. But still, I much prefer dealing with the ACTUAL numbers instead of speculating on unknowns, and relying on dubious modelling and guesstimates. So here are some recent hard figures.

Globally

Let me say at the outset that these numbers of course keep changing – so by the time you read this piece they will have already altered somewhat. And I am making use of the stats and figures as found at the worldometers site: http://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

As to global figures, we have this:

-Global cases: 2 million (yes I have rounded off this number)
-Global deaths: 126,708
-Global recoveries: 478,932

America

-US cases: 613,886
-US deaths: 26,047
-US recoveries: 38,820

But bear in mind what I said in an earlier piece about inaccuracies in the numbers (eg, including those who die WITH corona in figures on those who die FROM corona, etc): billmuehlenberg.com/2020/04/10/corona-the-numbers-and-some-hard-questions/

In this regard, what Cheryl Chumley recently wrote about how “ridiculously low” the coronavirus case and death counts are in the US is worth repeating here:

Johns Hopkins University of Medicine’s Coronavirus Resource Center, as of April 13 at 7:02 a.m., reported 557,590 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in the United States and 22,109 deaths due to COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus. The current population of the United States, according to WorldOMeters.info, is just over 330 million.

Do the math. That means 0.17 percent of America’s population has been infected by the coronavirus. That means 0.007 percent of America’s population has died from the coronavirus — we think.

As Johns Hopkins also notes: It all depends on the testing. “With more testing, more people with milder cases are identified. This lowers the case-fatality ratio,” the site reported. That means the number of positive coronavirus cases will increase as testing increases — but very likely, the number of coronavirus fatalities will drop at the same time. And by logical extension — that means the number of recovery cases will hike, as well. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2020/apr/14/coronavirus-case-and-death-counts-in-us-ridiculous/

And a lengthy article by Jonathan Tepper is also worth taking a look at. Let me offer just a snippet from it:

Given the extreme differences in how the virus affects the young and the old, it is worth asking if a countrywide lockdown is the right policy. If hospitals and retirement homes are one of the main transmission vectors and the disease and the virus overwhelmingly affects the very old and sick who have multiple existing conditions, shutting the entire economy will not solve the problem.

Policy measures so far have been indiscriminate, shutting entire economies. Little has been done to make sure that people are isolating, rather than visiting hospitals. Doctors and nurses still lack proper protective equipment, and many hospitals are still mixing Covid-19 patients with those who are not infected. Until we properly diagnose the problem facing us, we will not emerge from this crisis. The virus will continue to spread, and economies will collapse.

What benefit can come from banning jogging in parks or children playing in a playground as is happening in the United States and many European countries? How could it make sense to close schools if children are barely affected and they will develop immunity if exposed? How can such a sledgehammer approach work if over half of all cases can be traced to hospitals and retirement homes? The policies responses in most countries are not targeted, fail to tackle the source of the crisis and will do little to contain future outbreaks. Millions of citizens are paying for this calamitous misunderstanding with their livelihoods. medium.com/@tepper_jonathan/ground-zero-when-the-cure-is-worse-than-the-disease-3c513d91393d

Lastly, a piece by Dr John Lee entitled “To understand COVID we need evidence, skepticism — and vigorous debate” is also worth quoting from. He concludes:

It’s not hard to understand why?politicians felt obliged to act by the distressing pictures of COVID-19 patients that were beamed around the world, combined with what we were being told about worst-case scenarios. But the fact that so many governments have jumped together, taking extraordinary actions based?on modeling and prediction,?is not a testament to the validity of those models. It is instead evidence of is what can happen when the?emergence of a new virus interacts with science and politics in the multimedia age.?And how difficult it can be, in times of panic,?to stop and think.

It is time for us to return, critically and calmly, to a rounded?and robust?scientific debate that generates a range of views about the severity and significance of this virus. And for our politicians to weigh these differing views extremely carefully against the clear and manifest harms of lockdown. It is for ministers, not scientists, to decide whether, in the light of changing evidence and understanding, what has been done is in any sense proportionate, and how to take us forward. spectator.us/understand-covid-need-evidence-skepticism-vigorous-debate

Much more can be said here – such as how bad China and WHO have been in all this, with WHO basically being a puppet of the Chinese Communist Party. But on this we have some good news: President Trump has just said he will cut funding to it: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-announces-funding-to-world-health-organization-who-halted

And the Australian Prime Minister Morrison is looking into this matter as well: http://www.skynews.com.au/details/_6149242481001

Australia

Speaking of Australia, it is quiz time: How many Australians are there? How many have died of corona? We SHOULD know the answers to both, but if you don’t, here they are:

-Australia has 25,437,796 people.
-Australia has 61 people who thus far have died to coronavirus.

You can work out the percentages. Yet the entire nation is in lockdown with countless people unemployed and businesses destroyed, and draconian policing infringing on basic liberties. How very easy it is for the state to completely shut down an entire nation.

Let me look a bit more at some of the actual figures here for Australia:

Australian confirmed corona cases

-So far we have had 6416 confirmed cases of corona infection in Australia.
-On March 22 we had the peak number of cases – 537 – and they have been falling ever since.
-March 29 was the next worst day, with 528 new cases.
-On April 2 we had 266 new cases.
-On April 12 we had 10 new cases.
-On April 13 we had 46 new cases.
-On April 14 we had 41 new cases.
-The curve, in others words, seems to have clearly been flattened.

Australian deaths attributed to corona

It is often said that there is a lag time between detected cases and any deaths that may occur – often a period of one to two weeks is mentioned. If so, then we can look at actual Australian deaths thus far.

-We had one death – our first – on March 1.
-In two months we have had 61 deaths – that averages to one death a day.
-The worst day in Australia was April 6 with 8 deaths.
-On April 12 we had 3 new deaths.
-On April 13 we had 2 new deaths.
-On April 14 we had 0 new deaths.
-The curve, in others words, seems to have clearly been flattened.

Australian recovery rate

-So far there have been 3598 recoveries.
-On April 14 the rate of recovery was 98.33 per cent.

I have been urging folks to look at the charts here for a few weeks now. A quick look at them will tell us all we need to know about the corona crisis in Australia: http://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/australia/

Despite these very low numbers, already because of the nationwide lockdown some 1 million Australians are out of work. And the IMF says that the Australian economy has shrunk by nearly 7 per cent – the worst since the Great Depression. And all this because of a national shutdown based on 61 deaths so far. How many will die from suicide and other factors related to loss of jobs and a ruined economy? All deaths matter here, not just some.

Conclusion

All of these hard numbers, as I said, do require interpretation, And yes, I am fully aware that in a situation like this we have to be cautious about using phrases like, “if current trends continue…”  Things of course can and will change, and plenty of variables – some now unknown to us – can come into play. So we need to be careful here with the figures.

So I am not making firm conclusions. But the truth seems to be this: in Australia and some other countries the curve-flattening and levelling has been going on for some time now. That is good news, and it needs to be shared far and wide, if for no other reason, than to offset all the corona alarmism that is out there.

WARNING: China wants to emerge #1 in world from Coronavirus Crisis — Capstone Report

China Expert talks about Bioweapon research in China

China is not America’s friend. That’s the lesson nobody but a handful seemed to understand in March 2020—until the Coronavirus COVID-19 Pandemic revealed China put China first. One of the leading voices warning about China’s threat to the West is Michael Pillsbury. Pillsbury appeared on today’s Lou Dobbs’ Show and provided critical new details about the origin of the outbreak.

Also, in a Machiavellian maneuver, China is trying to exploit the coronavirus Pandemic to weaken America.

“We are underestimating China’s competitive drive to surpass us,” Pillsbury told Dobbs. “Lou, what they want to come out of this coronavirus crisis is to be number one in the world.”

Pillsbury explained that too many in America’s Political and Business Elite are guided by wishful thinking about China. They believe China wants to reform and is a friend. China’s conduct shows otherwise.

Pillsbury’s 2014 book The Hundred-Year Marathon detailed China’s goal—to knock the US from its position as the global hegemon and replace America. China’s goals would weaken freedom and make the world much less safe. The book is excellent. If you haven’t read it, get it.

But back to the Dobbs interview.

Pillsbury provides some critical details about the funny business happening at China’s virology lab in Wuhan. Pillsbury said Chinese researchers were adding “gain of function” to viruses extracted from bats.

“In theory, this is extremely dangerous,” Pillsbury said. “Why would the United States fund her to do this?”

Adding to the growing questions about the virus is the fact that the “Wet Market” in Wuhan is probably not the epicenter of the outbreak.

“This may have a different origin,” Pillsbury said. “The mystery is getting deeper.”

Pillsbury explains much more in the video clip. You should watch it. He details how lab accidents happen—even happening in the US at the CDC, where a test went wrong in Atlanta.

Also, watch the video to see Pillsbury’s discussion about China’s bioweapons philosophy—what is called the “Seventh Domain of War” by Chinese generals. A Chinese general even shows up in some of the virology lab’s research, according to Pillsbury. Watch the interview.

Big Tech and State Governors Begin Initiating COVID-19 Tracking App… — The Last Refuge

An interesting share from [It’s5O’ClockSomewhere] that outlines what will likely become the standard COVID-19 compliance request from many state offices. It appears this is a voluntary registration; however, in the era of fear and alarm it doesn’t take long for businesses and stakeholders to evaluate their interests and require participation.

This is not an endorsement, not even close, CTH is sharing information because several weeks ago we began to outline the likely direction a new era of monitoring was going.  This is the Big Tech system that Comrade Scott Adams has been advocating for.  Obviously there are layers-upon-layers of privacy concerns.  An internal email shared below:

If you are not already doing so, I highly recommend downloading the Care 19 App.  It is being recommended by Governor Noem (South Dakota) and Governor Burgum (North Dakota).

It tracks where you’ve been so that if you do get diagnosed with COVID-19 the Department of Health can quickly identify who may need to be notified that they have been exposed. Once there are enough subscribers the system will be able to notify you directly if you may have been exposed and need to monitor for symptoms.

The app is currently only available for iPhones but will be available soon (next week) for Android devices. For more information, or to download the *app, please visit: https://covid.sd.gov/care19app.aspx.

*Note that in order for the app to be most effective you must go into your settings after downloading the app and adjust your location services so that the app can monitor your whereabouts at all times. This is another way that each of you can play a part in helping our communities combat this virus.

I would strongly urge people to start thinking about this now.  Think about the pros-and-cons of this type of registration and tracking system. Keep in mind that all electronic metadata is also absorbed by massive U.S. intelligence networks.  That electronic metadata lies at the heart of material available for surveillance exploitation.

Once this ‘mobile health registry’ and tracking system, a pandora’s box of sorts, is open; and many will argue it has already been opened; it will be impossible to reverse the course.

State influence agent, Comrade Adams, helps to correct wrong-thinking.

The state will never force you to share your health records. However, if you wish to remove yourself from voluntary home confinement, access rights, and unlock your social privileges, it is likely you will be encouraged to join a health registry via your voluntary cell phone/transponder provider.

The Ministry would never force your compliance. You may choose to remain external to the Federated United State System (FUSS). You may also choose not to participate in the employment network, state services, access to civil transit, large entertainment gatherings, parks and restaurants. Nothing is mandated. Relax comrades, the Ministry is sensitive to your previous rights as we initiate our new, safer, society.

The COVID Compliance Ministry appreciates good citizens who voluntarily participate in the registry.

We reward good citizenship status with enhanced credits allowing access to a safe COVID Compliant Society. A safer society; where the odds will always be in your favor.

Cernovich’s Documentary on the Media Breaks iTunes Top 10 After Being Censored By Amazon — The Gateway Pundit

Mike Cernovich’s hit documentary “Hoaxed: Everything They Told You Is a Lie” has broke into the top 10 independent films in the iTunes store after being censored by Amazon.

The powerful film is a hard hitting and in-depth look at the “fake news” phenomenon and corporate media.

Hoaxed was removed from Amazon entirely last week, even for users who had previously purchased digital copies, but is now the #8 independent film for the week of April 12 according to AP.

TRENDING: Video of the Day: One Day After Arguing With President Trump, CBS Reporter Paula Reid Has to be Told Four Times to Leave Coronavirus Survivor Meeting

When you attempt to purchase the film on Amazon, users get a message saying “Our agreements with the content provider don’t allow purchases of this title at this time.”

Cernovich maintains that Amazon has all rights to sell and distribute it and that he has not received any communication from the platform.

As news about the censorship broke, the Streisand Effect began and the film trended on Twitter.

“Amazon allows films about child rapists and serial killers while canning Hoaxed. Is it fair to say that Amazon endorses every film it allows to remain on the platform considering it banned a media documentary with bipartisan appeal? Many will think so,” Cernovich told the Gateway Pundit at the time.

Responding to an upset user, Amazon Help tweeted that they “understand the frustration regarding ‘Hoaxed’ not being available on Prime Video, and apologize for the experience. Our selection changes from time to time. We value customer feedback to help us improve and will pass your interest along.”

When The American Economy Reopens, It Will Be Inside Of A Vast Permanent Network Of Digital Surveillance, Contact Tracing And Tracking — Now The End Begins

Adm. Brett Giroir, the assistant secretary for health (ASH), told Breitbart News exclusively on Tuesday that the federal government is developing a broad-based effort consisting of wide-scale testing, surveillance, and contact tracing to be able to control the spread of coronavirus once the president makes the decision to reopen America.

We have been telling you this the whole time, and by now it should be quite apparent, the America you knew before the coronavirus lockdown is not coming back. We told you how the coronavirus pandemic, or more accurately called the Plannedemic, was a real virus being used to bring in the New World Order. Not just in America, but in every nation around the world. America will reopen for business, no worries about that, but don’t bother locking the barn door when it does, the cow is already gone.

The new America will be a ‘brave, new world’ where the world-wide web that was planted back in 1994 will be used to track our every movement. Contact tracing, as draconian as that sounds, will only be the beginning, prepare for tracking on every level starting with your phones and mobile devices.

The New World Order is here, the old life you knew forever gone, prepare yourself accordingly.

Adm. Brett Giroir Details Public Health Infrastructure to Reopen America: ‘Surveillance, Testing, Contact Tracing’

FROM BREITBART NEWS: Giroir is a four-star admiral in the United States Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS), the federal uniformed service of the Public Health Service, and as ASH, a top adviser to the secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS). He is a member of President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence’s White House Coronavirus Task Force and has emerged as the so-called “testing czar.” In that role, Giroir is charged with the logistics of scaling up U.S. efforts to test for coronavirus from about 100,000 when he took over the effort just a few weeks ago to now more than 3 million tests completed as he told Breitbart News on Tuesday.

“Over 3 million as of today,” Giroir told Breitbart News, referring to various diagnostic tests that have been completed testing whether an American has an active coronavirus infection. In the hotspots throughout the United States, Giroir added, the U.S. is leading the world in not just the testing total but also testing per capita—far ahead of places like South Korea and elsewhere worldwide that have been lauded on testing.

The next stages of combating the outbreak, he explained, will be preparing for the reopening of the country with a multi-pronged public health infrastructure approach including surveillance, expanded testing, and contact tracing, but also an expanded hospital capacity as well as wide-scale serological testing.

Giroir said that to reopen the country there needs to be a number of logistical public health structures in place that the administration is racing to get together as quickly as possible while the disease’s spread levels off. They include surveillance—or monitoring through existing structures that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) uses for other diseases to make sure the government is on top of any emerging potential hotspots before they break out big like right now—as well as expanded testing and contact tracing systems.

Giroir also explained how contact tracing works through the CDC in partnership with state and local health officials.

“Contact tracing is for every person who’s positive the CDC says on average there are probably five close contacts that they have interacted with,” Giroir said. “So the idea is to identify and call those people—and this done by local public health officials. Some of those people will need to be tested, and then isolated. If they’re positive or at-risk, we need to keep them chilled away until we determine if they’ve been infected or haven’t been infected and can go back. That’s the idea of contact tracing. You have a person who’s sick, they test positive, you then trace those near contacts who could if infected spread the virus independent of that person. That’s a very, very important component.” READ MORE

Niall McCrae: The Wet Market Source for the Coronavirus Was a Lie that the Mainstream Media Lapped Up — The Gateway Pundit

So far so good, as an exercise in crisis management by the totalitarian Chinese Communist Party. The disastrous pandemic of the Wuhan coronavirus is a major challenge for Beijing, possibly bringing the dramatic rise of China as an economic power to an abrupt halt, and shattering its modernising image. Searching questions will be asked of why the regime silenced doctors who raised the alert in December 2019, why human-to-human transmission was denied until mid-January, and why it opposed international travel restrictions. However, the CCP knows that the West will be too busy dealing with the economic carnage to conduct an urgent and comprehensive inquiry.

The official story of the viral source has hardly been queried by Western media or politicians. The blame is on backward folk who eat freshly-killed bats, among other creatures, at a traditional market. Yet as these markets exist throughout China, few have asked why the coronavirus erupted in Wuhan, or whether it is simply coincidence that this city has two institutes engaged in coronavirus research.

As with any major adverse event, conspiracy theories abound. But the true story of the origin of the pandemic has not been told. If there is any conspiracy, it is the attempted cover-up by the Chinese authorities. The likelihood is Covid-19 began not in a humble market but in a highly-sophisticated research laboratory.

A prolific researcher at Wuhan Institute of Virology is Shi Zhengli, known as ‘Bat Woman’. In 2015 Zhengli was one of the authors of a scientific report in the journal Nature Medicine, titled ‘SARS-like cluster of circulating bat coronaviruses shows potential for human emergence’. This study combined a coronavirus from bats with a SARS-like pathogen in mice. Some virologists expressed concern, Simon Wain-Hobson of the Pasteur Institute in Paris warning that ‘if the virus escaped, nobody could predict the trajectory’. With this synthetic coronavirus, Zhengli and associates showed the pathway for transmission from bats to human beings.

Contrary to the accepted narrative, bats are not sold at the market in Wuhan. Those widely-shared videos of people eating vampire bat soup were not filmed in Wuhan, or indeed in China, but in Indonesia. The Covid-19 coronavirus is derived from the horseshoe bat, which researchers take from caves a thousand miles south of Wuhan. Furthermore, in a study of 41 early cases of Covid-19 published in the Lancet, 17 had no history of exposure to this market, indicating that the outbreak had another source.

A scientific paper by South China University of Technology, now deleted, stated that ‘the killer coronavirus probably originated from a laboratory in Wuhan’. Bats are sharp-clawed creatures and the mechanical gripper is often splattered with blood and urine, potentially infecting a careless worker. ‘Patient Zero’ could have been research graduate Huang Yanking, whose research papers were removed from the institute’s website. Zhengli vehemently denied rumours of the virus coming from her laboratory, but she could be acting on orders. The stakes are high, and anyone who fails to toe the party line risks disappearance.

Covid-19 is highly similar to a SARS-like bat coronavirus previously discovered by the Nanjing Military Research Institute. In an Epoch Times documentary, molecular biologist Judy A Mikowitz doubted that Covid-19 was transmitted directly from bats: ‘I certainly believe that the 100% amino acid similarity says it can’t possibly be a natural mutation. It almost certainly is a recombination event that was laboratory driven’.

While ‘Bat Woman’ appears to have been muzzled, in February Chen Wei, the top biochemical weapon expert in China, and a major general in the People’s Liberation Army, took over as head of the supposedly biosecure laboratory in Wuhan. A specialist in genetic engineering of vaccines, Wei led a team that developed a vaccine against ebola, saving countless lives. However, this appointment raised suspicions of military involvement in the viral research. Dany Shoham, a former Israeli military intelligence officer who studies Chinese biological warfare, suggested that Wuhan Institute of Virology is linked to Beijing’s covert bio-weapons programme.

A secretive state leaves much to speculation. But it seems that the mainstream media are preparing for the terrible truth. The Guardian is tentatively asking whether Covid-19 originated somewhere other than a bat stall, with a recent article citing molecular biologist Richard H Ebright’s remark that a laboratory leak cannot be ruled out.

Like the Chernobyl disaster, when the totalitarian USSR desperately tried to hide the horror by clamping down on experts and witnesses while minimizing the risk to citizens over a vast area, the CCP was more concerned with propaganda and censorship than preventing the spread of the virus. This would be bad enough if Covid-19 was caused by misfortune in a poorly regulated market. But it would be a much more serious indictment if the deadly germ was created by Chinese scientists. And if so, why?

God, Man and Corona — CultureWatch

The New York Governor needs to reconsider his anti-God rhetoric:

A recent arrogant outburst by an American political leader reminds me of the words of Jesus to another political leader. In John 19:10-11 we find this exchange between Pontius Pilate and Jesus: “Then Pilate said, ‘Do you not answer me? Do you not know that I have power to nail you to a cross, or to let you go free?’ Jesus said, ‘You would have no power over me if God did not give you power. So then, the man who gave me up to you has done something worse than you’.”

Jesus made it pretty clear to this mere human leader that all power ultimately derives from God, and any power that we might have is a gift from him, so we better exercise it wisely and humbly. But politicians and leaders for millennia have foolishly thought that they are the source of their own power and authority.

And we still have arrogant leaders who think they are the masters of their destiny, and accountable to no one. Consider a recent press conference given by New York Governor Andrew Cuomo on Easter Monday. In his 25-minute talk, followed by a 20-minute Q&A session, he said a number of things – some unremarkable, but a few quite extraordinary.

As to the lowering corona numbers in New York City he said this during the Q&A session (near the 38-minute mark):

I’m not confident that the worst is over. I said if you look at the numbers, 18,000, 18,000, 18,000, 18,000, 18,000, the numbers suggest a plateauing, slight increase, but a plateauing, which is what the experts have talked about. That’s what the numbers say. I also say whatever those numbers say is a direct result of what we do. I’ve said if we do something stupid, you will see those numbers go right back up tomorrow, period. The worst can be over, and it is over unless we do something reckless. And you can turn those numbers on two or three days of reckless behavior. It’s like being on a diet, right? You get on the scale every morning. “I lost five pounds. I lost five pounds. I’ve lost five pounds.” Oh, you’re declaring that you have lost five pounds forever. No, I lose self-discipline today and I go home and I eat like a horse. And I’ll get on that scale, it’s going to give me a different number tomorrow. It is directly a result of what you do today.

But then he went on to say this:

The number is down, because we brought the number down. God did not do that. Faith did not do that. Destiny did not do that. A lot of pain and suffering did that. And that’s why we lost five pounds, because we went out every day and we exercise and we burned more calories than we ate. That’s how it works. It’s math. And if you don’t continue to do that, you’re going to see that number go back up. And that will be a tragedy if that number goes back up. http://www.rev.com/blog/transcripts/governor-andrew-cuomo-new-york-coronavirus-briefing-transcript-april-13

Hmm, in the midst of a deadly epidemic, I would not be throwing out such sacrilegious comments – certainly not on Easter Monday. A little humility on his part, and a little respect for all the New Yorkers – and Americans – who do believe in God would be in order here – not smart-aleck remarks.

Now more than ever we need to seek God and his help. Sure, we must do our part, but there is nothing amiss in prayer and faith in such times. But some folks are still happy to hate on God and to score cheap misotheist points. This is all the more remarkable given that early on in his news conference he said this:

Number of deaths is 671. Not as bad as it has been in the past, but basically flat. And basically flat at a horrific level of pain and grief and sorrow. This is 671 people who passed away on Easter Sunday. For me, I’m Catholic. Easter Sunday is the high Holy day in many ways. And one of the high Holy days, and to have this happen over this weekend is really, really especially tragic. And they are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Hmm, so much for his supposed faith. So much for his Catholicism. When you say God has nothing to do with help and relief in a time of crisis, you are a pretty lousy advertisement for any faith you might proclaim to have. Atheists are always happy to make such remarks – but why someone claiming to be religious?

And he is simply quite foolish and quite wrong in what he said anyway. No biblical Christian makes this false distinction: they know that God acts, and we are to act. It is not either-or, but both-and. In so many areas we have genuine cooperation going on. So with corona we take sensible measures in health and safety, and we also seek the help of God.

Yes it can get complex – it is the very old discussion of how God’s sovereignty and human freedom work together. The Bible makes it crystal clear that both do indeed work together. Thus we are quite right to emphasise divine sovereignty. But we are also quite right to emphasise human responsibility.

We must push both of these biblical truths -simultaneously. Needless to say, I have written often on this topic. See one such piece here: billmuehlenberg.com/2017/01/18/theology-gods-sovereignty/

Both truths are repeatedly stated in Scripture. And often in the very same verse we will find both things clearly stated. There are many hundreds of biblical texts we can appeal to here. Since I have just finished reading through 1 &2 Samuel again, let me just share some verses I found there which demonstrate this truth:

1 Samuel 2:25 His sons, however, did not listen to their father’s rebuke, for it was the Lord’s will to put them to death.

1 Samuel 10:6, 9 The Spirit of the Lord will come powerfully upon you, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person…. As Saul turned to leave Samuel, God changed Saul’s heart

1 Samuel 10:26 And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and there went with him a band of men, whose hearts God had touched.

1 Samuel 11:7 Then the terror of the Lord fell on the people, and they came out together as one.

1 Samuel 14:15 Then panic struck the whole army—those in the camp and field, and those in the outposts and raiding parties—and the ground shook. It was a panic sent by God.

1 Samuel 26:12 So David took the spear and water jug near Saul’s head, and they left. No one saw or knew about it, nor did anyone wake up. They were all sleeping, because the Lord had put them into a deep sleep.

1 Samuel 26:19 Now let my lord the king listen to his servant’s words. If the Lord has incited you against me, then may he accept an offering. If, however, people have done it, may they be cursed before the Lord!

2 Samuel 5:19-20 And David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you give them into my hand?” And the Lord said to David, “Go up, for I will certainly give the Philistines into your hand.” And David came to Baal-perazim, and David defeated them there.

2 Samuel 5:24-25 And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, then rouse yourself, for then the Lord has gone out before you to strike down the army of the Philistines.” And David did as the Lord commanded him, and struck down the Philistines from Geba to Gezer.

2 Samuel 15:31 Now David had been told, “Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom.” So David prayed, “Lord, turn Ahithophel’s counsel into foolishness.”

2 Samuel 16:10 But the king said, “What does this have to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? If he is cursing because the Lord said to him, ‘Curse David,’ who can ask, ‘Why do you do this?’”

2 Samuel 17:14 Absalom and all the men of Israel said, “The advice of Hushai the Arkite is better than that of Ahithophel.” For the Lord had determined to frustrate the good advice of Ahithophel in order to bring disaster on Absalom.

2 Samuel 24:1, 10 Again the anger of the Lord burned against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, “Go and take a census of Israel and Judah.” … David was conscience-stricken after he had counted the fighting men, and he said to the Lord, “I have sinned greatly in what I have done. Now, Lord, I beg you, take away the guilt of your servant. I have done a very foolish thing.”

The Bible is full of such texts. And then we could mention all the passages which speak about God bringing upon a people – or taking away from a people – disease, plagues, pestilence, famine and so on. I list some of these verses here: billmuehlenberg.com/2015/09/13/on-mecca-and-natural-disasters/

So what we have here is a human leader full of pride and hubris who refuses to acknowledge God – even while claiming to be religious – and doing so on the most sacred period of the Christian calendar. Hmm, we better pray for this man. The Bible also records episodes where arrogant leaders who refuse to acknowledge God and bow down to him are brought low by the Almighty.

Why does what God said to Belshazzar through Daniel in Daniel 5:18-21 come to mind here?

O king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father kingship and greatness and glory and majesty. And because of the greatness that he gave him, all peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him. Whom he would, he killed, and whom he would, he kept alive; whom he would, he raised up, and whom he would, he humbled. But when his heart was lifted up and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was brought down from his kingly throne, and his glory was taken from him. He was driven from among the children of mankind, and his mind was made like that of a beast, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys. He was fed grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, until he knew that the Most High God rules the kingdom of mankind and sets over it whom he will.

April 14th The D. L. Moody Year Book

He that heareth My word, and believeth on Him that sent Me, hath everlasting life.—John 5:24.

A MAN once prayed for me that I might obtain eternal life at last. I could not have said “Amen” to that. I obtained eternal life over forty years ago, when I was converted. What is the “gift of God,” if it is not eternal life? And what makes the gospel such good news? Is it not that it offers eternal life to every poor sinner who will take it?[1]
