Dr. Birx Slams “Slicey & Dicey” Mainstream Media For Fixation On Trump’s ‘Sunlight’ Comments | ZeroHedge News

The MSM has slammed the White House and President Trump and its team of ‘expert’ scientists’, whom they’ve repeatedly tried to portray as valiant heroes working to protect the nation from the worst impulses of a president who doesn’t believe in science and germs and not shaking hands, or whatever.

Dr. Fauci is already adept at repudiating these rumors and narratives. And now, Dr.Birx has joined him. During an interview on Fox’s “Watters World” – and then again in an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN’s “State of the Union” –  Dr. Deborah Birx said that the media has been harming the public with its fixation on Trump’s incoherent, extemporaneous ramblings about cleaning products and light being possible vectors  for coronavirus treatments or cures.

One Fox, she said the press has a duty to transmit accurate and detailed reports to the people, but instead the MSM has fixated on Trump’s remarks instead of focusing on “the science and data” on display during the briefings.

“I think the media is very slicey and dicey about how they put sentences together in order to create headlines. …We know for millennials in other studies that some people may only read the headlines. And if there’s not a graphic, they’re not going to look any further than that.”

“And I think we have to be responsible about our headlines. I think often, the reporting maybe accurate in paragraph three, four, and five. But I’m not sure how many people actually get to paragraph three, four, and five,” she added.

“And I think the responsibility that the press has is to really ensure that the headlines reflect the science and data that is in their piece itself.”

She also defended the president and his remarks, saying he simply sometimes likes to “talk things through” out lout and on air, and that it bothers her that his remarks are still in the news cycle five days later.

“He likes to talk [new information] through out loud and really have that dialogue. And so that’s what dialogue he was having. I think he just saw the information at the time, immediately before the press conference. And he was still digesting that information,” Birx said.

“The president has always put health and safety first. I think you can see that in the way that he was supportive of slowing the spread guidelines — knew the impact that that would have on the economy, and knew clearly what impact it would have on the economy,” she added.

“Yet, he realized that the health and safety of Americans was his number one interest and responsibility.”

Later, during a Sunday appearance on CNN with Tapper, Dr. Birx again declined to criticize the president’s remarks, and kept trying to focus on the science and data, despite Tapper’s apparent desire to focus solely on Trump’s comments from five days ago.

She tried to keep the focus on the research, something we’ve also tried to do here and here.

Fresh air, sunlight and improvised face masks seemed to work a century ago; and they might help us now.

When new, virulent diseases emerge, such SARS and Covid-19, the race begins to find new vaccines and treatments for those affected. As the current crisis unfolds, governments are enforcing quarantine and isolation, and public gatherings are being discouraged. Health officials took the same approach 100 years ago, when influenza was spreading around the world. The results were mixed. But records from the 1918 pandemic suggest one technique for dealing with influenza — little-known today — was effective. Some hard-won experience from the greatest pandemic in recorded history could help us in the weeks and months ahead.

Put simply, medics found that severely ill flu patients nursed outdoors recovered better than those treated indoors. A combination of fresh air and sunlight seems to have prevented deaths among patients; and infections among medical staff. There is scientific support for this. Research shows that outdoor air is a natural disinfectant. Fresh air can kill the flu virus and other harmful germs. Equally, sunlight is germicidal and there is now evidence it can kill the flu virus.

Anybody who thinks CNN is performing a “public service” by keeping Trump’s comments in the news cycle should maybe take Dr. Birx’s remarks into consideration, instead of denouncing her as a traitor, as the Guardian seems intent on doing in its headline.

Rudy Giuliani and K. T. McFarland Reveal the Sinister Reason Why China Claims the Coronavirus Came Out of a Wet Market (Video) — The Gateway Pundit

China has a major reason for pushing the fake news story that the Wuhan coronavirus was created randomly in a wet market. 

Former New York Mayor and Trump supporter and Trump personal attorney, Rudy Giuliani interviewed former US Attorney Joe diGenova and his attorney wife and partner, Victoria Toensing, about corrupt Joe Biden’s activities in China and around the globe. 

At the 12:00 mark, Joe and Victoria state that the Bidens are more corrupt than the Clintons.  A very shocking statement, indeed.  The interview was excellent.

After Rudy interviewed Joe and Victoria, he brought in K. T. McFarland, who at the 30:00 minute mark, revealed why China continues to claim the China coronavirus came from a wet market:

One of the reasons that they keep insisting, despite mounting evidence that it came from a lab in Wuhan, they keep insisting, no, no, it came from a wet market, or maybe it was America who did it.  They cannot admit culpability for the following reason, if they do, then there’s a clause that they put into the Phase 1 US-China Trade Deal, where in essence in this trade deal it said we would lift sanctions, we would lift the tariffs on them and then they would buy a lot of agriculture and other goods from us.

But there’s a clause that’s in there, a get out of jail free clause, which says, however, if there is a natural occurring disaster, the two parties will renegotiate.  In other words, China doesn’t necessarily want to keep the terms of the deal.  And so it’s very important for everybody, for them, to say, well, it’s a naturally occurring disaster coming out of the wet lab.  It wasn’t China who did that.

So not only do they give themselves an out for the trade deal, that they were pressured into signing, but they also will give themselves an out if companies and countries and individuals, all come to the International Courts and try to sue China.

The Bidens are corrupt and China will do anything to get out of their trade deal with the US.  Their plan may just work out.  We will know in November.

The Portent

And the men marveled, saying, “What kind of a man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” (8:27)

Thaumazō (marveled) refers to extreme amazement and can carry the idea of portending. The men could not imagine what kind of a man Jesus was, that even the winds and the sea obey Him. Mark reports that, along with their great amazement, the men were also “very much afraid” (4:41). They were now more afraid of the one who had stilled the storm than they had been of the storm itself. Many of them had encountered dangerous storms, but none had encountered such supernatural power as Jesus here displayed.

After God had declared His great power and majesty, Job exclaimed, “I have heard of Thee by the hearing of the ear; but now my eye sees Thee; therefore I retract, and I repent in dust and ashes” (Job 42:5–6). When Isaiah “saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted, with the train of His robe filling the temple,” he declared, “Woe is me, for I am ruined! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts” (Isa. 6:1, 5). After Daniel beheld the Lord, he testified: “No strength was left in me, for my natural color turned to a deathly pallor, and I retained no strength. But I heard the sound of his words; and as soon as I heard the sound of his words, I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground” (Dan. 10:8–9). When Peter saw Jesus miraculously provide the great catch of fish, “he fell down at Jesus’ feet, saying, ‘Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, O Lord!’ ” (Luke 5:8). When Paul encountered the risen Christ on the Damascus road, “he fell to the ground.… And though his eyes were open, he could see nothing” (Acts 9:4, 8).

God’s majesty is so overwhelming that when He displays Himself in even a small part of His glory men cannot stand in His presence. These disciples suddenly realized that God was standing in the very boat with them, and they were terrified by His power and His holiness. On a similar and later occasion Peter walked on the water. But when the wind came up, he became afraid, and Jesus not only held up His faithless disciple but also caused the wind to stop. “And those who were in the boat worshiped Him, saying, ‘You are certainly God’s Son!’ ” (Matt. 14:29–33).

Isaac Watts wrote:

We sing the mighty power of God,

Who bade the mountains rise.

Who spread the flowing seas abroad,

And built the lofty skies.

We sing the wisdom that ordained

The sun to rule the day.

The moon shines full at His command,

And all the stars obey.

Lord, how Thy wonders are displayed

The same Christ who stilled the Sea of Galilee is the Christ who keeps every atom and every star in its orbit. He keeps the universe in balance and provides for each plant and animal. One day He is coming to restore the world that sin defiled, to make completely new the heavens and the earth. Even now He is the God who gives eternal life to those who trust in Him, and who will calm their every storm and give strength for their every tragedy.^[1]

27 Matthew’s use of “the men” here instead of “the disciples” is unusual, and has sometimes been taken to suggest that there were other people in the boat, perhaps a crew unconnected with Jesus and his group (like the crew of Jonah’s boat, whose awed reaction is related at Jonah 1:16) who as outsiders recognize something unique about Jesus. But nothing in the story suggests that there was anyone else in the boat, and the comments above on the size of fishing-boats suggest that this is unlikely; nor has Matthew mentioned the “other boats” of Mark 4:36. The awed reaction fits well with the disciples’ earlier panic and Jesus’ rebuke to them, and their designation as anthrōpoi, “human beings,” underlines the contrast between them and Jesus, who is thus seen as more than human. It is precisely as “human beings” that they must recognize a unique and non-human authority. Their rhetorical question must be understood in the light of the OT passages cited above, which make the control of winds and water the special and sole prerogative of God himself. It is enough at this stage that the question be posed. In due course it will be answered by the disciples themselves (14:33; 16:16), but already in the next pericope the answer will be provided from a very different source (8:29).^[2]

8:27 What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him? The disciples’ question that concludes the story of Jesus’ calming the storm is an important one for Matthew and his readers and hearers. It is the first time in the narrative that the question of Jesus’ identity has been raised explicitly since before his public ministry (1:1–4:16). The disciples have heard him teach and have seen him heal the sick. Now when they see his authority extending even over nature, they press to know what kind of man it is who stands before them. This question will guide the narrative in subsequent chapters, as Matthew highlights differing opinions of who Jesus might be (e.g., 11:2–3; 12:23; 14:1–2, 33; 15:22), culminating in Peter’s affirmation that Jesus is indeed God’s Messiah (16:16).^[3]

That the faith of these men was indeed strengthened appears from verse 27. The men were amazed and said, What kind of person is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him? I take it that the expression “the men” refers to the disciples in this boat. To be sure, “other boats” had left the shore at the same time (Mark 4:36). Also, after Jesus and his disciples landed, the miracle may well have become “the talk of the town.” But these matters are not in the present context. Here the antecedent of “men” is clearly “his disciples” (verse 23), “they” (verse 25), “them” and “men of little faith” (verse 26). These men are astonished. They begin to realize that Jesus is greater by far than they had previously imagined. He exercises control not only over audiences, sicknesses, and demons, but even over winds and waves.

It often happens that those who are most closely associated with a great or famous person are far less enthusiastic about him than are strangers, who eagerly imbibe glowing reports. The intimate friends are less outspoken in their praise, for the simple reason that they see not only the strong but also the weak points of the celebrity. When Jesus is the center of attention the story is different. The closer the association with him, the greater is also the admiration and the amazement. In this connection see N.T.C. on the Gospel according to John, Vol. I, pp. 3 and 4.

Much that is wrong on earth can be corrected. There are mothers who dry tears, repairmen who fix machines, surgeons who remove diseased tissues, counselors who solve family problems, etc. As to correcting the weather? People talk about it, to be sure. But it takes deity to change the weather. It is Jesus who commands the winds and the sea, and they obey him!^[4]

The mainstream media and governments are losing control of people all over the globe.  Humans are finally standing up for their rights to live not as slaves, but as free sovereign people capable of making their own decisions without rulers and elitists calling the shots.

Never before have we seen global tyranny at this scale. But, never before have we seen a mass uprising against governments and their propaganda outlets (the mainstream media) either.  As more and more people get off their knees and stand up for their basic human right to live freely, governments and the elitists that control them lose power. We are at that point where power will return to the people and the elitists will be the ones living in fear. All we have to do, is be free.

The mainstream media is going to continue its smear campaign against anyone who dares to believe they have the right to live freely so long as they aren’t harming others and take life’s risk upon themselves. But as fewer people tune in to listen to their propaganda, fewer people will be brainwashed by it. A lot of people have lost everything in the tyrannical liberty-crushing demands put upon them, and now that they have nothing to lose, they are finally realizing their rights don’t come from the government or elitists.

And no smear campaign by government lapdogs will stop people from waking up at this point. The media has been enslaving our minds so the government won’t have to enslave our bodies.  But it’s out now and in broad daylight and people have had enough. The veil has been lifted.

People are realizing that we own ourselves. And we are finally standing together to let the “masters” know that we are not their slaves. The quote in the movie, a Bug’s Life can be applied today with a simple change of words.

“It’s not about food. It’s about keeping those ants in line!”

We all know at this point, “it’s not about health. It’s about keeping those people in line!”

Take notice of the clips of this movie on YouTube.  The comments have been disabled, not by those posting the videos, but by YouTube.  It’s just another means to keep people “in line.”  They censor us, they brainwash us, and they expect us to obey their commands stay as their slaves. But people have had enough!

Mass civil disobedience, where people are going to cease to obey laws that control them is already happening. Governors who locked people in their homes and barked commands that some close their businesses will lose the power to dictate once enough people disobey, and that day is coming.  This horrific cycle of violence and slavery is ending and it’s panicking those who have had control of us for so long. “Fear the second wave.”

“Anti-government extremists.”

“We can’t reopen or people will die.”

Well, guess what? You don’t own us. And your fear-mongering is falling on deaf ears.

Humanity is finally moving in the right direction.  The last step is to just live.  Protesting is begging the master to let you be free.  Just live free. Don’t ask permission. Conduct your life as the free, sovereign human being you were born as, and let the ruling class panic. If you don’t buy their fear, they cannot control you. The fact that humans are finally realizing they had this power all along is incredible. Live your life your way! That’s the biggest middle finger we can give to any tyrant, whether it be a cop, a governor, a politician, an elitist, or anyone else who wants our compliance and enslavement.

Freedom is not negotiable and rights are not gifts from governments or others.  We all have the basic human right to be free and live our life the way we see fit.  As more people realize this, our power grows and the mainstream media’s fear campaign fails. After all, if there are no order followers, there are no orders.

It’s about time we all stand together and abolish the last shred of modern-day slavery! I will not sit back and allow anyone to continue life as a slave if I can help it! I might not be able to do much, but I can promote peace, liberty, and the abolishment of all forms of slavery.

Some say the pen is mightier than the sword, maybe that’s true, maybe it’s not.  But I am tired of being told I have to give up my rights to live free for a false sense of security. I will no longer be owned or commanded. This is MY life and I am peacefully choosing to be free.

EXCLUSIVE: China Coronavirus DID NOT Come from a Wuhan Wet Market – This Propaganda Comes From a China Disinformation Campaign — The Gateway Pundit

Respected media outlets like the Daily Mail and the Daily Caller and many others reported earlier that the China coronavirus started in a wet market in Wuhan. 

Today we provide evidence that these reports are most likely propaganda coming from the Chinese regime in an organized disinformation campaign.

Yaacov Apelbaum at the Illustrated Primer shared with The Gateway Pundit information that supports the fact that the entire Wuhan bat soup story is fake news.  Various claims that the virus started at a wet market in Wuhan are almost certainly false:

Three such illustrative examples are:

1. That the consumption of contaminated bat soup was potentially the origin of the coronavirus outbreak in Wuhan
2. That that Chinese were selling and even now continue to sell bats at various ‘Wet markets’
3. That there is no correlation between the Covid-19 virus and the virus specimens that were isolated from bats kept in the lab

It is interesting to note that all three of these topics are an integral part of the Chinese government’s propaganda that the Covid-19 virus originated in the wild where it accidentally jumped from infected bats to some intermediary host or directly to humans.

Based on a large body of evidence, these three claims can be shown to be decidedly false, most likely originally produced as a part of an organized disinformation campaign.

In spite of this, Yaacov points out that the Daily Mail has reported this story as recently as March but its origins appear to come from Turkish Intelligence with pictures coming from Indonesia:

The Daily Caller also recently shared this wet market story.

Yaacov has been able to tie the earliest stories of the coronavirus being caused from bat soup in a wet market in Wuhan to a Turkish Intel Twitter account (in French) by the name of Restitutor Orientis, no doubt helping China with this messaging:

The China coronavirus did not start from bat soup.  It is much more likely that the virus came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology where Dr. Shi was actively researching and experimenting with a coronavirus in a lab.

Dr. Shi is a world renowned virus researcher.  We have reported extensively on the “Bat Lady” as she is called.

We first mentioned China’s Dr. Shi Zhengli weeks ago on April 9th, long before other news publications.  About a week after our first post, Dr. Shi’s name was finally breaking into the mainstream media reports.  Professor Shi Zhengli was even discussed on Tucker Carlson’s show as well.

Chinese Doctor Shi Zhengli was part of a team that worked on a coronavirus project jointly with US doctors in 2014 before it was shut down by the DHS for being too risky.

After the US research project was shut down, Dr. Shi continued her coronavirus research in Wuhan, China.

After the work stopped in the US, the Chinese moved forward with the project and ran research and development in Wuhan at the Wuhan Virology Center. From Shi Zhengli’s papers and resume, it is clear that they successfully isolated the virus in the lab and were actively experimenting with species <-> specie transmission.

It’s also important to note that back in 2017 we had solid intelligence about a viral leak in a high security Chinese virology R&D center that resulted in the SARS virus getting out and killing people.

This information provides a basis that contradicts the theory that COVID-19 is a variant that just magically mutated in a bat in the wild and then jumped to a human when they ate bat soup.

What we don’t know is if the China coronavirus was released by accident or on purpose.

Rep. Devin Nunes, the former Chairman of the House Intelligence Community, joined Maria Bartiromo on Sunday Morning Futures earlier today.

During their discussion Rep. Nunes discussed the recent revelations on the Deep State assault on General Michael Flynn.

Rep. Devin Nunes: There’s a lot of new information that has come out of things that were redacted or kept classified by someone, I don’t know who, in both the Horowitz report and stuff now that is finally being declassified. And the real question here is, “Why was this stuff being classified? Why were the American people being kept in the dark and still being kept in the dark?” We finally just got to see the Fisa warrant that was used against Carter Page. There are still a lot of black marks OK in the Fisa report. We need everything declassified so that we can continue this investigation. Why is General Flynn important because on Friday night, thankfully Attorney General Barr appointed a US Attorney out of Missouri to look into what was going on in some of these investigations. And we don’t know what was submitted to the court on Friday evening but we believe that’s it’s possible exculpatory evidence that the government had on General Flynn… In reality you have the former head of the DIA (General Flynn) strung up here year after year after year in what was now likely we’re going to find out he was framed! Imagine that being framed by our own government by political operatives who don’t like you? And I think that’s what we’re going to find out.

That is a huge development!
Hopefully, justice will be served and the real criminals will see time behind bars where they belong.

Sen. Tom Cotton Confirms TGP Suspicions: If China Was “Going to Suffer an Economic Contraction, They Were Not Going to Allow the World to Prosper” — The Gateway Pundit

Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) joined Maria Bartiromo this morning on Sunday Morning Futures.  In his interview, Cotton stated at the following at the 3:00 mark on the Chinese Communist regime:

I believe the Chinese Communist leaders, when they were aware of those facts by mid-January, made the conscious decision not to explain to the world that it [the coronavirus] was transmissible between humans, not to shut down travel, not to ask for American or other kind international scientific help, but to allow this virus to escape its borders.

Because if they were going to suffer an economic contraction, they were not going to allow the world to prosper and China be the only country whose economy was declining.

We made a similar argument in a post on April 19th but we took it a step further and suggested this might be why the coronavirus was released:

It seems highly unlikely that a country would purposely do something like this that would kill its own people.  But the China Communist regime has a history of abusing and killing its own citizens.  So maybe it is not so far off as it would appear.  But if they did purposely release the virus, why would they do it?

The answer may be because China’s economy was collapsing.  This was the regime’s real hold over its people.  The country was growing economically and it was winning its economic war with the US.  Then came President Trump and in a matter of a couple of years, the feared nation turned into a paper tiger.

Steve Bannon talked about how China was at war with the USA a couple of years ago:

Well here’s the game and right now we are converging on a point and they understand this. We could take the whole thing down. We can take, the whole thing’s built on a house of sand…

If they [China] devalue their currency they are just going to flood more out. They got $3 trillion of reserves and trust me, in a New York second that thing would flood out in a second. That’s what their own people think about their economy. We’ve allowed these guys to push us around. We’ve allowed these guys to take the South China Sea…

This trade war is going to end in victory and what you’re going to see is a reorientation of the entire supply chain out of China…

Bannon was right and the pressure was on China.

By destroying the world economy they could hide their economic calamity and blame it on the coronavirus.  They were losing the economic war badly with Trump and they may have hit the panic button.

WE REPORTED EARLIER THE FOLLOWING 10 REASONS CHINA’S ECONOMY WAS IN TROUBLE:

1. China over built real estate at levels worse than the US in 2008.

We reported in May 2019 that China’s current situation is very similar to the situation in the US that caused the ‘Great Recession’ memorialized in the movie ‘The Big Short’.

China’s actions somewhat mirrored those in the US in 2008. As China grew, it invested in its infrastructure and in addition, it invested in large housing projects throughout the country. These efforts helped bolster China’s already fast growing economy.

The problem is that China over invested in these random properties all over China and these properties today remain empty.

(See below pictures of real estate projects in the middle of China. Seen firsthand in Hubei Province, the epicenter of the Wuhan virus, these complexes are massive but mostly empty.)

There simply are not enough people in the area where these massive complexes were built that make enough money to afford living in these communities. It appears that the Chinese communists’ misunderstanding of supply and demand economics may ultimately be their downfall.

2. Related to real estate crisis is the fact cash-to-short-term debt levels are reaching all time lows for real estate companies.

These many properties throughout China sit unoccupied, and there is a cost to this. Bloomberg reported in September 2018 –

Cash-to-short-term debt levels at more than 80 publicly traded real estate companies tracked by Bloomberg were 133 percent on average in the first half, the worst since the first six months of 2015 and down from 297 percent a year earlier. Almost a quarter of developers sport a ratio below 50 percent.

3. China long term debt is also on the rise.

In addition, Bloomberg noted:

But while business has been booming, developers have also been piling on the debt. Firms have been selling more bonds in the domestic market — and at the cheapest rates as investors shrug off default concerns. Those with dollar-denominated obligations, meanwhile, face higher borrowing costs as the U.S. Federal Reserves continues on its tightening path.

4. The amount of debt in China is massive and the amount is unknown.

The total amount of China debt is unknown with S&P estimating the amount not reported by local communities and banks being over $6 trillion:

China may be sitting on a hidden debt pile of as much as 40 trillion yuan ($6 trillion), concealed off-balance-sheet by the country’s local governments, according to research from S&P Global Ratings.

Many local governments in China raise debt and hold it off their balance sheet, in order to avoid lending limits imposed by central authorities. S&P says that this is a growing problem within the country, and that the amount of debt held this way has likely ballooned in recent years.

(Note in the US it is considered fraudulent to maintain off-balance sheet accounts – accounts for liabilities not showing in an entity’s financial statements.)

5. China’s default risk is huge.

The government may have to take over these debts as they become insolvent –

Not only is the level of hidden debt held by local governments in the world’s second largest economy rising, but so too is the risk of those debts being defaulted on. Much of the debt is held by so-called local government financing vehicles (LGFVs), and S&P reports that central government may be willing to let these vehicles file for bankruptcy in the future.

“Default risk of LGFVs is on the rise. China has opened up the possibility of insolvent LGFVs filing for bankruptcy, but managing the default aftermath is a formidable task for top leadership,” the report noted….

The country’s total non-financial sector debt, which includes household, corporate and government debt, will surge to almost 300% of GDP by 2022, up from 242% in 2016. Fears abound that if this debt pile continues to grow, a spectacular blow up could be imminent.

6. Companies are leaving China in swarms.

I personally spoke with one China CEO last year who I know who said that a fellow manufacturing CEO in China said the economy in China was “terrible”. I also spoke with another head of a manufacturing company in China and he moved his operations to Thailand. He said that there was no more room in Vietnam for his company at a reasonable cost because Vietnam was full as companies from China, so he and his manufacturing plant moved to Thailand.

These are only two instances but are an indication of the economy in China. The problem with this scenario is it provides China no ability to recover. It can only recover with business but the business is all leaving China. They can’t just continue to build and spend.

7. China incurred record corporate bond defaults in 2019.

Corporate bond debt defaults set a record in 2019:

The world’s second-biggest economy ended 2019 with record corporate bond defaults, a result of the slowest growth in nearly three decades. More than 150 onshore companies reneged on debt payments totaling about $19 billion. That was up from 120 companies and $17.6 billion in 2018.

8. China’s ratio of corporate debt to GDP jumped to 160% by the end of 2017.

Fitch, S&P Global and other rating agencies are now warning of more to come as financing dries up for private companies, worsened by the global trade war and a decade of debt-fueled growth coming due. China’s ratio of corporate debt to gross domestic product jumped to a record 160% by the end of 2017 from 101% 10 years earlier.

9. China’s GDP growth rate before the coronavirus was likely negative.

The BBC reported on official China figures from last month. China’s GDP growth is the lowest its been in nearly 30 years and some economists believe it may actually be negative growth.

10. The Wuhan coronavirus is a killer. It’s killing China’s economy!

There are many indications that the China economy is in peril. The coronavirus may have killed it. Can you imagine the US economy totally shut down for a month? That is exactly what is happening in China and Hong Kong now.

Hong Kong’s world class airport handled over 71 million passengers in 2019 which is around 200,000 passengers a day. According to the Hong Kong Immigration Department it’s now down to around 7,000 passengers a day. Hong Kong is not the only major airport in China seeing this pattern. The entire country is this way with almost no international flights going to and from China for the past month.

The streets and roads in some cities are closed down. The roads are empty. This all takes its toll on the economy.

To think that only a couple of years ago under the Obama Administration the world was saying that China was soon to pass the US in GDP and reports were that this may have already occurred.

China was falling fast and hard.  Perhaps they ignited the coronavirus as a last ditch effort to save face with their people at home and with countries abroad. 

Reading this it makes sense that China may have released the coronavirus intentionally.  If not intentionally, Senator Cotton confirms that once the coronavirus was released, China’s actions were economic based.

“It’s ’08 All Over Again” – Carl Icahn Warns Investors “Be Extremely Careful” | Zero Hedge

…the future is just too unpredictable for the S&P 500 to be trading at almost 20 times next 12m earnings estimates…

Some people are intentionally hoarding toilet paper; others are stockpiling hand sanitizers and masks; and the glut of oil around world grows concerningly higher day after day. But, while stock markets rebound by the most ever (after their fastest collapse ever), there is (at least) one billionaire investor who is not buying it and instead is hoarding something else in readiness for what comes next… 

In an insightful (and unusual for mainstream business media) interview with Bloomberg TV, Carl Icahn isn’t buying stocks right now. He’s hoarding cash, shorting commercial real estate and preparing for COVID-19 to wreak more havoc.

This is a time to be “extremely careful,” Icahn said in an interview Friday on Bloomberg Television.

The 84-year-old’s reasoning is simple – and terrifying for the average commission-raker and asset-gatherer – having traded through every stock-market crash since the Great Depression, the future is just too unpredictable for the S&P 500 to be trading at almost 20 times next 12m earnings estimates…

“You cannot really justify that multiple,” Icahn said.

“Short-term, you may have some big downdrafts.”

Unlike Boeing, IBM, and, the airlines, and cruise lines, the veteran investors hasn’t blown through his cash in recent years chasing dreams, he has instead been preparing and building cash positions – what he says he always keeps for “a stormy day.”

His thesis is straight forward – he disagrees with the market’s apparent belief that we will ‘return to normal’ sometime soon and everything that was will be again.

Having donated over $200 million to the medical school at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, the 1980s corporate raider says he has been talking to “some of the smartest guys in this area” and formed an opinion of the virus that doesn’t leave him optimistic.

He’s concerned about recurrences of infection and believes the economy will reopen in “spurts.”

“It’s not like turning on a spigot,” he said.

However, there are opportunities amid the carnage as Icahn took advantage of the recent collapse in crude oil prices with a secondary trade, as Bloomberg details:

Because refiner CVR constantly needs oil to supply its two refineries, Icahn realized he could use it to profit from the frenzy. He said he instructed the Sugar Land, Texas-based company to make space in its storage tanks and put in orders for 1 million to 2 million barrels at negative prices he doesn’t expect ever to see again.

We made some money on it,” Icahn said in an interview Friday with Bloomberg Television.

“We did get a fair amount.”

You’ll never see that again in history,” Icahn said.

But, while that opportunistic position was quickly taken advantage of, Icahn’s largest position is a multibillion bet he initiated in mid-2019 against the CMBX 6, an index of commercial real estate mortgage-backed securities that should be very familiar to ZeroHedge readers:

Back in March 2017, a bearish trade emerged which quickly gained popularity on Wall Street, and promptly received the moniker “The Next Big Short.” 

As we reported at the time, similar to the run-up to the housing debacle, a small number of bearish funds were positioning to profit from a “retail apocalypse” that could spur a wave of defaults. Their target: securities backed not by subprime mortgages, but by loans taken out by beleaguered mall and shopping center operators which had fallen victim to the Amazon juggernaut. And as bad news piled up for anchor chains like Macy’s and J.C. Penney, bearish bets against commercial mortgage-backed securities kept rising.

The trade was simple: shorting malls by going long default risk via CMBX 6 (BBB- or BB) or otherwise shorting the CMBS complex. For those who have not read our previous reports (here, here, here, here, here, here and here) on the second Big Short, here is a brief rundown via the Journal:

each side of the trade is speculating on the direction of an index, called CMBX 6, which tracks the value of 25 commercial-mortgage-backed securities, or CMBS. The index has grabbed investor attention because it has significant exposure to loans made in 2012 to malls that lately have been running into difficulties. Bulls profit when the index rises and shorts make money when it falls.

The various CMBX series are shown in the chart below, with the notorious CMBX 6 most notable for its substantial, 40% exposure to retail properties.

One of the firms that had put on the “Big Short 2” trade back in late 2016 was hedge fund Alder Hill Management – an outfit started by protégés of hedge-fund billionaire David Tepper – which ramped up wagers against the mall bonds. Alder Hill joined other traders which in early 2017 bought a net $985 million contracts that targeted the two riskiest types of CMBS.

“These malls are dying, and we see very limited prospect of a turnaround in performance,” said a January 2017 report from Alder Hill, which began shorting the securities.

“We expect 2017 to be a tipping point.”

Alas, Alder Hill was wrong, because while the deluge of retail bankruptcies…

… and mall vacancies accelerated since then, hitting an all time high in 2019…

…  not only was 2017 not a tipping point, but the trade failed to generate the kinds of desired mass defaults that the shorters were betting on, while the negative carry associated with the short hurt many of those who were hoping for quick riches.

One of them was investing legend Carl Icahn who as we reported last November, emerged as one of the big fans of the “Big Short 2“, although as even he found out, CMBX was a very painful short as it was not reflecting fundamentals, but merely the overall euphoria sweeping the market and record Fed bubble (very much like most other shorts in the past decade). The result was what we said four months ago was “tens if not hundreds of millions in losses so far” for the storied corporate raider.

That said, while Carl Icahn was far from shutting down his family office because one particular trade has gone against him, this trade put him on a collision course with two of the largest money managers, including Putnam Investments and AllianceBernstein, which for the past few years had a bullish view on malls and had taken the other side of the Big Short/CMBX trade, the WSJ reports. This face-off, in the words of Dan McNamara a principal at the NY-based MP Securitized Credit Partners, was “the biggest battle in the mortgage bond market today” adding that the showdown is the talk of this corner of the bond market, where more than $10 billion of potential profits are at stake on an obscure index.

However, as they say, good things come to those who wait, and are willing to shoulder big losses as they wait for a massive payoffs, and for the likes of Carl Icahn, McNamara and others who were short the CMBX, payday has just arrived.

That, in the parlance of our times, is what traders call a “jackpot.”

The epic crash in the CMBX 6 BBB (the junk-rated BB tranche has fallen 25% in the past fortnight) meant all those shorts who for years suffered the slings and stones of outrageous margin calls but held on to this “big short”, are about to get very rich (and in the case of Icahn, even richer) it has also means the pain is just starting for all those “superstar” funds on the other side of the trade who were long CMBX over the past few years, collecting pennies and clipping coupons in front of a P&L mauling steamroller.

One of them, as noted above, is mutual fund giant AllianceBernstein, which has suffered massive paper losses on the trade, amid soaring fears that the coronavirus pandemic is the straw on the camel’s back that will finally cripple US shopping malls whose debt is now expected to default en masse. 

According to the FT, more than two dozen funds managed by AllianceBernstein have sold over $4 billion worth of CMBX protection to the likes of Icahn. One among them is AllianceBernstein’s $29 billion American Income Portfolio, which is down 15% since the beginning of March, having written $1.9bn of protection on CMBX 6, while some of the group’s smaller funds have higher concentrations.

The trade reflected AB’s conviction that American malls are “evolving, not dying,” as the firm put it last October, in a paper entitled “The Real Story Behind the CMBX. 6: Debunking the Next ‘Big Short’” (reader can get some cheap laughs courtesy of Brian Philips, AB’s CRE Credit Research Director, at this link).

Hilariously, that paper quietly “disappeared” from AllianceBernstein’s website, but magically reappeared on Friday, shortly after the Financial Times asked about it.

“We definitely still like this,” said Gershon Distenfeld, AllianceBernstein’s co-head of fixed income. “You can expect this will be on the potential list of things we might buy [more of].”

Sure, quadruple down, why not. Meanwhile, one of America’s biggest mall operators, Simon Property Group, has closed all its US properties until March 29, and it is unclear not only when it will reopen but what viable tenants it will still have that are able and willing to pay rent. Good luck on the quadruple down – as Icahn notes of the “mall short” – the more the pandemic slows economic activity and drives consumers to shop online, the greater the chances that some of those loans will default.

“It’s ‘08 all over again,” Icahn said, likening the trade to wagers that paid off massively when subprime mortgage debt collapsed more than a decade ago.

In which case, as we noted at the very beginning, Icahn’s warning to investors to be “extremely careful” would seem very timely.

April 26 See God As He Really Is

1 John 3:2

When He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

When you see God as He really is, you will worship Him as He desires to be worshiped. When Moses saw God and worshiped Him, he ended up giving us the law. And when John saw God and fell down before him as dead, he got up and wrote the Book of Revelation, the great apocalyptic story of the New Testament. Worship is not a noun; it’s a verb. Worship is your whole life dedicated back to God.

Finally, when you see God as He really is, you will look forward to the day when you will be like Him. In the New Testament we are told that someday we shall be like Him because we will see Him as He is. On that day we will be holy in perfection. During a press conference on Wednesday, California emergency room doctors Dan Erickson and Artin Massihi of Accelerated Urgent Care told reporters that nationwide lockdown policies are not an appropriate reaction to what current data shows about the China-originated novel coronavirus, but are instead causing measurable public health issues, like spikes in domestic violence, sexual abuse, depression, and spreading fear to non-COVID-19 related would-be patients that are skipping out on vital health care.

“We understand microbiology, we understand immunology, and we want strong immune systems,” Dr. Erickson told reporters, rebuffing inconsistent shelter-in-place orders . “I don’t want to stay in my home and develop a weak immune system, and then come out and get a disease.”

Erickson noted that quarantining the healthy is like nothing he’s seen before. “We decided to keep people at home and isolate them, even though everything we’ve studied about quarantine, typically you quarantine the sick,” he explained. “When someone has measles you quarantine them. We’ve never seen the healthy, where you take those without disease and without symptoms and lock them in your home. So, some of these things from what we’ve studied from immunology and microbiology aren’t really meshing with what we know as people of scientific minds who read this stuff.”

E.R. doctors across the nation, from California, to Wisconsin, to New York, said Erickson, are seeing folks avoid critical lifesaving care out of fear.

“When I talk to E.R. physicians around the country, what’s happening?” he said. “Well, because COVID has become the focus, people with heart disease, people with cancer, hypertension, and various things that are critical are choosing not to come in based on fear. So what that’s doing is forcing the health care system to focus on COVID and not focus on a myriad of other things that are critical because we don’t have the staff there and the major complaint is fear.”

Meanwhile, he claimed, the fatality rate for COVID-19, which he said might be more contagious than the flu, is on-par with flu fatality rates, if not lower.

“In Kern County, we’ve tested 5,213 people and we have 340 positive COVID cases. Well, that’s 6.5 percent of the population. Which would indicate a widespread viral infection similar to the flu,” the doctor said. “So if you look at California, these numbers are from yesterday, we have 33,865 COVID cases out of a total of 280,900 total tested, that’s 12 percent of Californian’s were positive for COVID.”

“Well, we have 39.5 million people, if we just take a basic calculation and extrapolate that out, that equates to about 4.7 million cases throughout the state of California. Which means this thing is widespread, that’s the good news. We’ve seen 1,227 deaths in the state of California with a possible … prevalence of 4.7 million. That means you have a 0.03 chance of dying from COVID-19 in the state of California,” he continued, adding, “96% of people in California who get COVID recover.”

Dr. Massihi said the initial reaction to apply shelter-in-place two months ago, when all we could rely on was theoretical data, was likely the right call, but now that there is available real data, lockdown orders could create additional harm outside of COVID-19.

Dr. Erickson repeatedly called the initial models, which projected millions of COVID-19 deaths, “woefully inaccurate.” What they are seeing across the nation, and even in the rest of the world, however, is “millions of cases, small amount of death,” he reiterated multiple times.

This holds true even in New York, he argued. There are “19,410 deaths out of 19 million people which is a 0.1% chance of dying from COVID-19 in the state of New York, and they have a 92% recovery rate if you are diagnosed with COVID,” Dr. Erickson said.

Asked by a reporter if “social distancing” was key dropping our deaths relative to model predictions, Dr. Erickson highlighted Sweden and Norway: both Scandinavian countries, Sweden with lockdown and Norway without. There is no real difference between their death rates to indicate lockdown is warranted, he argued.

Lockdown orders have resulted in, for one thing, a community spike in child molestation, the doctor noted. “Molestation is increasing at a severe rate. We could go over multiple cases of children who have been molested due to angry family members who are intoxicated, who are home who have no paycheck,” he said. “These things last a lifetime … these are things that will follow these people and affect them in a negative fashion for their life and these are secondary effects from COVID.”

Spousal abuse, alcoholism, anxiety, depression, and suicide have also spiked in their community, Dr. Erickson said. “Education has dropped off, economic collapse, medical industry,” he added, “we’re all suffering because our staff isn’t here and we have no volume. These are all real things that I’m seeing every day. I don’t read about this stuff; I’m seeing it in my clinics. We have clinics from Fresno to San Diego and these things are spiking in our community. These things will affect people for a lifetime, not for a season. So let’s let’s make sure we’re clear on that.”

Dr. Erickson also noted that doctors across the country have felt pressured to include COVID on death reports. “It’s interesting, when I’m writing up my death report, I’m being pressured to add COVID,” Dr. Erickson said he’s heard doctors tell him. “Why is that? Why are we being pressured to add COVID? To maybe increase the numbers and make it look a little bit worse than it is? I think so.”

“So this is what I’m hearing from physicians I talked to in Wisconsin, New York, and everywhere,” he said.

Lockdown measures are wildly inconsistent, favoring big businesses, Dr. Erickson added. “So big businesses are open, little businesses are not? There’s no science behind that. As we’ve gone over, that is not science, there’s other factors in play that we don’t have time to go into, but it’s not science. I want to make that clear.”

Presently, 8 states do not have mandatory shelter-in-place lockdown orders. There infection and subsequent death rates are far less than the nations who do. 

There have been research studies, which are adjusted for population density per square mile and the conclusions are sitll the same. States and cities that have lockdowns fair no better than states and cities that have draconian lockdowns. 

The most severe lockdown rules, with dranconian consequnces, have the highest rates of infection, even on an adjusted population-per-square-mile density regression analysis. In LA, the mayor has donned his swastika armband and has forbidden people to go outside. LA has the most unreasonable and dramatic quarantine laws in America and yet they have the highest rate of infection per square mile. 

Carlson emphasized that these quarantine policies are about politicians thirst for absolute power. They have tasted blood, so to speak and they love it. 

It is safe to say that a Carlson retraction is coming, or he will be seeking employment elsewhere. 

In the following video, I produced this morning, I take Tucker Carlson’s arguments and compare them to a 6 point analysis of the deception being presented to the American people. First I want to be clear, I am not saying the virus is not deadly and I am not saying that it is not contagious. However, I am raising points that demonstrates how badly the American people are being misled. 

Here are the 6 points:

Expanding On Carlson’s Critique On Lockdowns-What He Did Not Say

The fallacy of the CDC and COVID-19 team diagnoses is omnipresent. As the CSS has pointed out before, the three phase approach to get a community out of lockdown is flawed because they have confabulated the figures related to CV-19 with an obvious piling on approach by counting “flu like symptoms”. This is deceptive and it is designed to increase the numbers in order to justify the lockdown. After all, is this about the flu or about COVID-19? Don’t say both, because we have never had a lockdown over the flu. Then there is the issue of “presumptive diagnoses”. This is where a doctor can presume that anything that when a death is not the product of a gun shot or a car accident, the cause of death is COVID-19. Even CDC documents, published here on the CSS, speak clearly to this point. What does the word “Presumptive” mean?  It means that one is engaging in speculation. Yet, these approaches are being allowed to confabulate the total data which is intentionally designed to exacerbate the totals as an execuse to keep up locked down. 

The box store hypocrisy is criminal. A small business owner cannot open his hardware shop, but the box stores operate with impunity. Have you been to an open Walmart or Costco lately? There is no real social distancing. People, without gloves handle the same objects and touch the same surfaces and we know that COVID-19 lives on different surfaces for varying lengths of time. It can accurately be said that if we apply the logic of the COVID-19 team to the box stores, they are indeed factories for the spread of COVID-19. Interestingly, a church could increase its number of services and maintain easily enforced social distancing and be much more safe than the box stores, however, they are discriminated against and a different set of rules are applied to Christians. This is not happening in Mosques, nor should it be. I am just pointing out the extreme hypocrisy that political prejudices that are in play and that have absolutely nothing to do with science. What’s good for the box store goose, is clearly not good enough for the Christian and small business gander in a case of rules for thee but not for me. 

Without question, the most draconian enforcements are happening in Democratic controlled municpalities and states. I have arrived at the conclusion that these Democrats are part of a strategy that will cause America to hate life and subsequently blame the Republicans and the cost will be enormous at election time. The Democrats, as it is self-evident, plan on erasing all Constitutional protections in their version of a Bolshevik Revolution. 

The Deep State and their puppet masters, the so-called gobalists, have their motive as well. As Ronald Reagan pointed out, “America is the last bastion of freedom”. The globalists need to take down the last bastion so they can install their New World Order, both politically and financially. As an American, you have a target on your back. Whether that target is made by an embedded terrorist (eg MS-13) or a Red Dawn invasion, or the CHICOMS, it does not matter. America, you have been targeted for political, economic and physical destruction. Americans should be added to the list of endangered species. 

I recently had a and discussion that I am not fully ready to discuss. However, I will soon be disclosing some very disturbing information about the Pentagon, specifically, and about the military in general. However, suffice it to say, that Jade Helm 16 is being played out right now in the deep recesses of power with regard to our military establishment. The primary damage was done to America when Obama fired almost 400 command officers and replaced them with “globalist thinkers”. 

Finally, it is important in warfare that one identify their primary enemy. From Representative Massie (R) to Ron Paul, and from a plethora of current events that a mass famine is coming across the planet. In fact, yesterday, the United Nations stated that a famine of “Biblical Proportions” is coming to the planet, the starvation danger is self-evident. If we do not immediately go back to work and produce and ship food, we are assuring ourselves that this famine is coming much sooner (perhaps weeks) rather than later. It will first come in the form of hyperinflation and then an absolute shortage. I cannot guarantee that an immediate return to work will stave off the starvation. However, there is a fundamental question that we need to ask. At the end of the day, which is more deadly for the human race, the COVID-19 virus or a mass famine of Biblical proportions? 

America we need to ask ourselves a question. Do we want to die on our acquiescing knees or on our feet? There is still time to decide, but the time to decide is now!

We need to secure the sound of marching feet. We need people of all backgrounds, conservative, liberal or ignorant to joint our coming civil disobedience. We must declare our independence and go back to work immediately. The globalist collaborators cannot throw all of us in jail and we own 430 million hand guns and we have 7 million veterans of fighting age. The time to defy this illegal lockdown of our country is now. Today, Shelley Luther is defying the shutdown of her Dallas business, the Salon a la Mode. America needs to join her. If you have a small business, you need to reopen today! If you know of a business that is “illegally” open today, we need patronize that store. As a country, if we have even the smallest chance of success of saving our country and our collective futures, civil disobedience must happen now. In a couple of weeks, it will be too late.

Secure — By His Grace

Isn’t it easy to make ourselves responsible for procuring and maintaining our salvation?  Something in us insists on taking at least a small portion of credit for our acceptance into heaven. Certainly, I spent years figuring out theological systems that allowed me to view myself as a contributor to my standing before God.

Thankfully, the Lord used His Word to convince me that He both initiated my salvation and will carry it to completion. He alone deserves all the glory.

This realization humbles us, which explains why so many of us fight against it. Surely, there must be some little way we cooperate with the Holy Spirit! Just a little? But no, Christ claims all the glory. His mercy takes us from start to finish.

Precisely because everything about our salvation emanates from His mercy and grace, we enjoy absolute security. Nothing can rob us of the security that He has bought us with His blood and therefore He will keep us for Himself. He will not permit anything — including ourselves — to interfere with His eternal purpose for us. We can rest secure in His grace.

Call to mind the needed succor sent at the critical moment: the right way chosen for you, instead of the wrong way you had chosen for yourself; the hurtful thing to which your heart so fondly clung, removed out of your path; the breathing-time granted, which your tried and struggling spirit just at the moment needed. Oh, has not Jesus stood at your side when you knew it not? Has not Infinite Love encircled every event with its everlasting arms, and gilded every cloud with its merciful lining? Oh, retrace your steps, and mark His footprint in each one! Thank Him for them all, and learn the needed lesson of leaning more simply on Jesus.

Preparing yourself for the study of God’s Word

Before we begin, if you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ (that is— you have trusted in Him for eternal life), it is important to prepare yourself to take-in God’s Word or participating in a Communion Service, so take a moment to name, cite or acknowledge your sins privately directly to God the Father. This will assure that you are in fellowship with God the Father and the Holy Spirit’s convicting ministry, also called the convincing ministry will then be able to teach you as the Holy Spirit is the real teacher and the pastor’s message is the vehicle the Holy Spirit uses to convince you what you are learning is true or not.

1 John 1:9, says—“If we confess [simply name, cite or acknowledge to God the Father] our sins [known sins], He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins [known sins] and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness [all unknown and forgotten sins];” NKJV (New King James Version); we call this REBOUND, read the full doctrine as to “why” we need to use 1 John 1:9 to grow spiritually. REBOUND

If you have never personally believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior (that is, believed in Him for eternal life), the issue for you is not to name your sins to God; the issue for you is to believe by faith alone in Jesus Christ alone for eternal life and you will be saved the very second you believe in Him:

John 6:47 says: “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me [Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” NKJV

Notice again what John 6:47 says, “he who believes in Me[Jesus Christ] has everlasting life.” It doesn’t say, “will have”; it says, “has.” Therefore, the very moment you believe Jesus Christ’s promise of everlasting life, you have it (it’s really just that simple), and it can never be lost or taken away from you (John 10:28-29). Furthermore, the gift of everlasting life (also called eternal life in scripture) is available to every human being; there are absolutely no exceptions.

John 3:14-18 says: “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” NKJV

Let us now bow our hearts and take a moment to prepare for learning God’s Word, if there is any known sin in your life, this is the time to just cite it privately to God the Father with your thoughts directed towards Him. With your head bowed and your eyes closed, you have total privacy in your mind and soul:

Sermon: God the Holy Spirit has protected us from self-destruction.

There is a subtle distraction to the communication of Bible doctrine as the number one priority in the believer’s life by what has been called the “Beyond Doctrine Movement.”

What should be done after a person believes on the Lord Jesus Christ and is ready to answer such questions as: After salvation, what?

We need to beware of not becoming like a Pharisee and then to try and legislate B.D. [bible doctrine] so much that we lose the life that God’s word and promises given to us as the recipients of grace and truth.

1Co 8:1 Now concerning things sacrificed to idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge makes arrogant, but love edifies.

In 1Co 8:1-6, we have a reference to a major problem that was apparent in the Churches at Corinth = the danger of having a little knowledge in the Christian life and thinking that you have a lot.

There is nothing wrong with having a little knowledge providing that you have the ability to control it rather than having “IT” control your life.

At first, it must have seemed to the disciples that they had no advantage over everyone else—and that our Lord would die and leave them alone.

The Jewish leaders who had been told they could not go where our Lord was going, were also not able to know that the disciples would be able to be with Jesus no matter where they would be later on.

Because of our Lord Jesus Christ we would return to God the Father, God the Holy Spirit, which would be made available, allowing every believer constant access to the Father and the Son.

This is another reason for all of us to trust and obey the Lord Jesus Christ because obedience to God comes from your love and trust toward our Lord and Savior.

We know that because God the Holy Spirit has protected us from self-destruction.

This is a sobering way of stating what our Lord said and it is also a direct reflection of our love for our Lord.

John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me; and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him.”

John 14:21 “He who has My commandments and keeps them is he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father, and I will love him, and [“we”] will disclose or reveal ourselves to Him.

The coming days would bring horrifying, then glorious, events, but our Lord would not be able to talk to His disciples during those times.

Before the disciples could understand any more, our Lord Jesus’ death and resurrection would have to take place.

The disciples’ understanding would be heightened by the coming of God the Holy Spirit, their true mentor.”

Notice that the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, would be sent as a representative of the Royal Family of God.

Not only is God the Holy Spirit a Counselor and a representative of the Royal Family of God, but He is also the one who created us to be Royal Ambassadors.

The Holy Spirit would continue our Lord’s teaching ministry by preparing us to be our Lord’s Bride of the future.

This is a part of the ministry of the Holy Spirit preparing the bride of Christ for her husband, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 5:14, the Word of God and the Spirit of God working together to make our Lord’s spiritual body a temple for the Bride and the Bridegroom.

Eph 5:14 “For this reason it ( It = a reference to Isa 51:17; 52:1; 60:1) says, “Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.”

If you are ignorant of doctrine how do you handle a problem which requires the doctrine you don’t have?

What source do you have for solving the problem?

If you start to operate on human viewpoint with regard to food offered to idols, or anything else, you’ve had it.

Instead of resolving the problem on the basis of Bible doctrine he resolves the problem on the basis of human prejudice.

Most of you by now recognize that Bible doctrine must be taught based on three major and basic principles.

The one we seem to use the most is the original language of the Hebrew and the Greek.

We need to be open and available to what God the Holy Spirit is saying to us.

1. Isagogics = Historical Setting

2. Categories = Systematic Theology

3. Exegesis = Original languages.

The richness of the passage that is set before us is found in the Greek noun nekros — which is correctly translated “death” but the issue is what kind of death is the Holy Spirit revealing to us?

Eph 5:14 “For this reason it (It is a reference to Isa 51:17; 52:1; 60:1) says, “Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.”

Key Word = the Greek noun nekros, and here is where the original language of nekros is in view because the word nekros is in the plural and it is really an adjective translated as a noun.

Eph 5:14 “For this reason it (O.T. = Old Testament) says, “Awake, sleeper [a command for believers to be on the alert and wake up from their slothfulness or sleeping ,

“And arise from the (other) dead ones (nekros = in the plural and is correctly translated = Arise from the other dead ones,

Or Arise from those believers who are also sleeping spiritually and looking for others to join them in their slothfulness and laziness.

We should arise from the other dead ones in last part of the verse which says “And Christ will shine on you.”

The challenge to produce divine good and Christian service which is acceptable to God is found in the vine and the branch metaphor of John 15:1-8.

Throughout this passage the apostle John uses the vine, the vinedresser and the branches as a metaphor to represent the relationship of the believer with the Lord Jesus Christ.

A metaphor is a figure of speech in which one thing is likened to another.

Here we have the vine and the branches used as a metaphor to represent the unity between the Lord Jesus Christ and the Church-age believer.

The vinedresser metaphor refers to God the Father as the author of the Predesigned Plan of God.

The vine metaphor refers to the humanity of Jesus during the dispensation of the Hypostatic Union.

Fruit through the branch is a symbol of the Church-age believer.

And the obvious principle; No fruit or production can be any better than the vine which produces it.

The vine metaphor emphasizes the fact that all precedence and all production of divine good in the Church-age comes from the vine – our Lord Jesus.

The branch is a metaphor for the Church-age believer.

“dead branches” representing dead works, or production skills minus Spiritual skills.

“Live branches” representing divine good, or Spiritual skills as the basis for production skills.

The branch that does not bear fruit refers to the believer who does not produce divine good.

Dead works is not fruit-bearing and is punishable or subject to divine discipline.

Verses 2 = God the Father removes and takes away all dead wood, dead branches, branches which produce dead works.

God the Father takes away or removes the dead works through disciplinary suffering in two categories: the law of volitional responsibility which produces a tremendous amount of self-induced misery and divine discipline.

Matt 7:17 “Every healthy tree produces good fruit. And every diseased tree produces worthless [degenerate, or evil] fruit.

Matt 7:18 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree produce good fruit.

Matt 7:19 every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”

1. The law of volitional responsibility which produces a tremendous amount of self-induced misery and divine discipline.

2. We also have the principle of pruning which is necessary to redistribute where the energy for divine production should go.

The branch that does bear fruit has to be pruned occasionally so that the Spiritual skills will increase and maximize.

Principle: Just as God provides divine discipline and punitive action for the non-fruit bearer, so God provides suffering for blessing for the fruit-bearer.

Verses 3-4 are the cleansing of the branches for production.

Verse three is salvation cleansing of the branches.

Nothing in your life before salvation should be a hindrance to your production of divine good.

John 15:4, verse four refers to post-salvation cleansing of the branches, which is in 1Jo 1:9.

The fact that “abide” is a command means that it is an experience after salvation and not a reference to positional sanctification.

We are never commanded to be in Union with Christ and this is a command to remain in fellowship with God through the use of 1Jo 1:9, so that divine good can be produced.

The branch in of John 15:2 is positional sanctification, but the branch commanded to abide in verses 4, is the believer mandated to experiential sanctification through the filling of the Holy Spirit.

“i in you” is the command for the believer to learn and metabolize Bible doctrine.

The vine has provided for us the precedent, the pattern, and the information necessary to produce divine good.

Spiritual skills = the filling of the Spirit;

Perception, metabolization, and application of doctrine;

And execution of the Predesigned Plan of God.

Our Lord had Spiritual skills for thirty years before he had three years of production in His ministry.

Abiding in this verse is a reference to the filling of the Spirit.

“in us” is cognition of Bible doctrine or having his mind alive in us.

These Spiritual skills are required before we can produce “much fruit.”

The phrase “do nothing” is dead works, or the function of production skills without Spiritual skills.

Principle – The production of divine good is a grace provision from God which meets God’s perfect standards.

God provides the means for fruit-bearing through the filling of the Holy Spirit, understanding of Bible doctrine, and through the attainment of Spiritual growth.
