May 19 Life-Changing Moments With God

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity.

Holy God, You will cleanse me from all my iniquity by which I have sinned against You, and You will pardon all my iniquities by which I have sinned and by which I have transgressed against You. Then You will sprinkle clean water on me, and I shall be clean; You will cleanse me from all my filthiness and from all my idols.

Unless I am born of water and the Spirit, I cannot enter Your kingdom, Lord God. If the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse my conscience from dead works to serve You, the living God?

You saved us for Your name’s sake, that You might make Your mighty power known. Not unto me, O Lord, not unto me, but to Your name give glory, because of Your mercy, and because of Your truth.

Looking at You in all Your purity and holiness enables me to see my sin more clearly, Lord God, and prompts me to praise You for the forgiveness You graciously extend me.

May—19 The Poor Man’s Evening Portion

And the Lord said, I have pardoned according to thy word. But as truly as I live, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.—Num. 14:20, 21.

My soul! ponder over this solemn scripture, and observe how truly awful Jehovah is, even in his mercies. Well may it be said to the people of God, “Rejoice with trembling.” This was a memorable moment in the history of Israel, when the spies returned from searching the promised land. The evil report which the greater number brought back, in denying God’s faithfulness, is most solemnly recorded; and the carcasses falling in the wilderness, most awfully set forth the divine judgment. And what is unbelief but the same, aggravated, if possible, to a ten thousand times greater degree of guilt, in denying and disbelieving the record which God hath given of his Son? The apostle saith, “it is making God a liar,” (1 John 5:10); and John the Baptist confirms the same; and adds a dreadful event, which must inevitably follow: “He that believeth not, shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth upon him.” (John 3:36.) And do observe, my soul, how Jehovah engageth to manifest and fulfil his glory. He confirms it with the most solemn asseveration: “As truly as I live, saith the Lord, all the earth shall be filled with the glory of the Lord.” And what is the glory of the Lord, but God manifested in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ? Here all the glory of Jehovah centres. In Jesus all is proclaimed; and in the dispensation of the fulness of times, the one great object of all things in the kingdoms of nature, providence, grace, and glory, is “to gather together in one all things in Christ.” What sayest thou, my soul, to these things? Art thou now gathered to Christ, to whom, as to the glorious Shiloh, the gathering of the people shall be? Is he that is the Father’s glory, thy glory; is the Father’s beloved, thy beloved; the Father’s chosen, thy chosen? Surely, if so, it must undeniably follow, that God is already glorified in thy view, and in thine heart; if the glory of the Lord Jehovah, which is to fill the earth, hath, in the person of his dear Son, filled thy soul and affections, and is formed in thine heart “the hope of glory.” Oh! for increasing evidences of this love of God, and glory of the Lord, to be shed abroad in my heart, “to give me the light and knowledge of God in the face of Jesus Christ!”[1]

May 19 Streams in the Desert

And it came to pass, before he had done speaking … and he said, Blessed be Jehovah … who hath not forsaken his lovingkindness and his truth.” (Gen. 24:15, 27.)

EVERY right prayer is answered before the prayer itself is finished—before we have “done speaking.” This is because God has pledged His Word to us that whatsoever we ask in Christ’s name (that is, in oneness with Christ and His will) and in faith, shall be done.

As God’s Word cannot fail, whenever we meet those simple conditions in prayer, the answer to our prayer has been granted and completed in Heaven as we pray, even though its showing forth on earth may not occur until long afterward.

So it is well to close every prayer with praise to God for the answer that He has already granted; He who never forsakes His loving-kindness and His truth. (See Daniel 9:20––27 and 10:12.)—Messages for the Morning Watch.

When we believe for a blessing, we must take the attitude of faith; and begin to act and pray as if we had the blessing. We must treat God as if He had given us our request. We must lean our weight over upon Him for the thing that we have claimed, and just take it for granted that He gives it, and is going to continue to give it. This is the attitude of trust.

When the wife is married, she at once falls into a new attitude, and acts in accordance with the fact; and so when we take Christ as our Savior, as our Sanctifier, as our Healer, or as our Deliverer, He expects us to fall into the attitude of recognizing Him in the capacity that we have claimed, and expect Him to be to us all that we have trusted Him for.—Selected.

“The thing I ask when God doth bid me pray,

Begins in that same act to come my way.”[1]

May 19.—Morning. [Or October 4.]
“He shall sustain thee.”

Psalm 55

THIS Psalm most dearly describes David’s condition when he had fled far away into the wilderness to escape from his son. He bitterly bewails the treachery of Ahithophel, and prophesies his doom; but his Psalm ends with most faithful and cheerful advice, which we shall all do well to follow.

Give ear to my prayer, O God; and hide not thyself from my supplication.

Attend unto me, and hear me: I mourn in my complaint, and make a noise;

Because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked: for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.

My heart is sore pained within me: and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.

Fearfulness and trembling are come upon me, and horror hath overwhelmed me.

And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove! for then would I fly away, and be at rest.

Lo, then would I wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah.

I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest

Destroy, O Lord, and divide their tongues: for I have seen violence and strife in the city.

10 Day and night they go about it upon the walls thereof: mischief also and sorrow are in the midst of it.

11 Wickedness is in the midst thereof: deceit and guile depart not from her streets.

12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him:

13 But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, arid mine acquaintance.

14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.

15 Let death seize upon them, and let them go down quick into hell: for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.

16 As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.

17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

18 He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.

19 God shall hear, and afflict them, even he that abideth of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God.

20 He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.

21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.

22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.

Let us dwell a moment upon the twenty-second verse, “Thy burden,” or what thy God lays upon thee, lay thou it “upon the Lord.” His wisdom casts it on thee, it is thy wisdom to cast it on him. He gives thee thy portion of suffering, accept it with cheerful resignation, and then take it back to him with assured confidence. “He shall sustain thee.” He who ordains the burden will also ordain strength. Thy bread shall be given thee, thy waters shall be sure. Abundant nourishment shall fit thee to bear all thy labours and trials. “As thy days so shall thy strength be.” “He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.” He may move like the boughs of a tree in the tempest, but shall never be moved like the tree torn up by the roots. He stands firm who stands in God. Many would destroy the saints, but God has not suffered them to perish, and he never will. Like pillars, the godly stand “stedfast, unmoveable,” to the glory of the Great Architect.

God shall preserve my soul from fear,

Or shield me when afraid;

Ten thousand angels must appear,

If he command their aid.

I cast my burdens on the Lord,

The Lord sustains them all;

My courage rests upon his word,

That saints shall never fall.

May 19.—Evening. [Or October 5.]
“Behold how he loved him.”

WHILE the great battle was raging in the wood, the aged king was anxiously watching for news.

2 Samuel 18:24–33

24 And David sat between the two gates: and the watchman went up to the roof over the gate unto the wall, and lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold a man running alone.

25 And the watchman cried, and told the king. And the king said, If he be alone, there is tidings in his mouth. (If there were many men running they would probably be fugitives from the fight, but one would naturally be a herald from the camp.)

26, 27 And the watchman called unto the porter, and said, Behold another man running alone. And the king said, He also bringeth tidings. And the watchman said, Me thinketh the running of the foremost is like the running of Ahimaaz the son of Zadok. And the king said, He is a good man, and cometh with good tidings. (It is a great mercy when this can be said of the son of a priest. So it ought always to be, but so it is not always.)

28 And Ahimaaz called, and said unto the king, All is well. And he fell down to the earth upon his face before the king, and said, Blessed be the Lord thy God, which hath delivered up the men that lifted up their hand against my lord the king.

29 And the king said, Is the young man Absalom safe? (There was the tender point in the father’s heart. If there be such love in an earthly father, how much greater is the affection of our heavenly Father! Surely he takes no delight in the death of any, but had rather that they should turn unto him and live.) And Ahimaaz answered, When Joab sent the king’s servant, and me thy servant, I saw a great tumult, but I knew not what it was. (He had learned to hold his tongue. He was in no haste to grieve the king.)

30, 31 And the king said unto him, Turn aside and stand here. And he turned aside, and stood still. And, behold, Cushi came; and Cushi said, Tidings, my lord the king: for the Lord hath avenged thee this day of all them that rose up against thee.

32 And the king said unto Cushi, Is the young man Absalom safe? And Cushi answered, The enemies of my lord the king, and all that rise against thee to do thee hurt, be as that young man is. (The honest Ethiopian told his black news as fairly as he could, but a dagger went to the father’s heart as he heard it.)

33 ¶ And the king was much moved, and went up to the chamber over the gate, and wept: and as he went, thus he said, O my son Absalom, my son, my son Absalom! would God I had died for thee, O Absalom, my son, my son! (Herein was love—great, vehement, passionate; but the love of Jesus to us was greater still; for he did not say, “Would God I had died for you,” but he has actually died that we might live. Oh love, amazing and incomprehensible! David weeping is a spectacle of love, but Jesus dying is more wonderful still!)

2 Samuel 19:2, 4–8

And the victory that day was turned into mourning unto all the people: for the people heard say that day how the king was grieved for his son.

But the king covered his face, and the king cried with a loud voice, O my son Absalom, O Absalom, my son, my son!

5, 6 And Joab came into the house to the king, and said, Thou hast shamed this day the faces of all thy servants, in that thou lovest thine enemies, and hatest thy friends. For this day I perceive, that if Absalom had lived, and all we had died this day, then it had pleased thee well.

Now therefore arise, go forth, and speak comfortably unto thy servants: for I swear by the Lord, if thou go not forth, there will not tarry one with thee this night: and that will be worse unto thee than all the evil that befel thee from thy youth until now. (Joab was probably right, but his manner was rough and unfeeling. It is always well to speak gently, even when we are required to be firm.)

Then the king arose, and sat in the gate. And they told unto all the people, saying, Behold, the king doth sit in the gate. And all the people came before the king: for Israel had fled every man to his tent. (Thus a good end was answered by Joab’s harsh interference. Good men follow sound advice, even when it is wrongly presented: we must not act foolishly because our adviser speaks uncourteously.)[1]

How Could a Sovereign, Good God Allow Suffering? — The Master’s Seminary Blog

The sovereignty of God is a challenging truth to grasp. It is difficult to accept the reality that God has ordained and arranged every moment of our lives, including those filled with pain and suffering. When we think of the sovereignty of God, our tendency is to remove all responsibility and obligation from man, but the Bible doesn’t allow for such thinking (Rom. 9:19–20). How does this work? The Bible is clear: God does not passively allow things to happen, but instead actively ordains them for His own sovereign purposes.[1]

This is a conversation that has often brought into question the goodness of God. It raises uncomfortable questions. Yet it is helpful to ask these questions not just of each other, but of our faithful brothers and sisters throughout church history. One Puritan, in particular, can help us here. Puritan Thomas Watson looks to Romans 8:28 to help. He sees this verse as a window into the workings of God—that “God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose” (Rom. 8:28).

In a chapter entitled “The worst things work for good to the godly,” Watson writes:

Do not mistake me; I do not say that of their own nature the worst things are themselves good, for they are a fruit of the curse; but though they are naturally evil, yet the wise over-ruling hand of God . . . has so tempered them, that they all work in a harmonious manner for the good of the universe.

In other words, every evil in this world is still thoroughly evil. Watson is not saying evil somehow is no longer evil. Bombings are evil. Cancer is evil. Pandemics are evil. We weep over these things. But even in the darkest and most dumbfounding moments, God is sovereignly working—so that even the most evil acts must finally, in the end, serve to advance His sovereign plan in the universe.

In Genesis, Joseph experienced years and years of evil. He was sold into slavery, falsely accused, abandoned, forgotten, mistreated, and demeaned. But at the end of his life, he tells his brothers: “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result” (Gen. 50:20, italics mine). Notice the word meant. If most of us were writing this, we might say, “You meant evil against me, but God allowed it for good.” But Joseph did not say that. If God means (i.e. intends, plans, purposes) for these things to happen, and He doesn’t just regrettably allow them, what is His purpose for intending them? How can good possibly come from evil? What are God’s designs in ordaining the existence of evil? What does such evil produce in the soul of a slave of Christ?

God orders and designs our lives in such a way that makes us the most like His Son and brings His name the most glory. Thomas Watson provides just a glimpse into how this works:

Sin and evil work for good, because they are designed by God to teach us what’s in our own hearts.

Watson writes: “God makes us know affliction, that we may better know our selves.” In other words, affliction helps us to see that our biggest problem is not outside of us, but within us. It brings things out of us that ease and peace just never would.

God designs our days to show us just how desperately we need Him

Sin and evil work for good, because they conform us to Christ.

Watson writes, “God’s rod is a pencil to draw Christ’s image more lively upon us. It is good that there should be symmetry and proportion between the Head and the members.” In other words, the goal of God in affliction is not to change our circumstances, but to change us through our circumstances—into the image of His Son.

Sin and evil work for good, because they are God’s means of loosening our hearts from the world.

When you dig away the earth from the root of a tree,
it is to loosen the tree from the earth; so God digs away
our earthly comforts to loosen our hearts from the earth

~ Thomas Watson

We see this in our lives, don’t we? Affliction always has the effect of weaning us from lesser pleasures and fixing our affections on endless ones.

Watson helps us to understand that the doctrine of God’s sovereignty is not cold and loveless, but is instead the loving prescriptions of a Great Physician. He explains:

God is a skillful Physician. He knows what is best . . . . He has trials for the strong and cordials for the weak. God is a faithful Physician, and therefore will turn all to the best. If God does not give you that which you like—He will give you that which you need. A physician does not so much study to please the taste of the patient—as to cure his disease. We complain that very sore trials lie upon us; let us remember God is our Physician, therefore He labors rather to heal us—than humor us. God’s dealings with His children, though they are sharp—yet they are safe, and in order to cure; “that he might do you good in the latter end.” (Deut. 8:16)

The reason for our trials, according to Watson, is not merely that God threw up His hands and allowed them, but that as our Physician, He graciously prescribed and ordered them to rid us of the lingering corruption in our hearts.

Trials are the sovereign medication
that mold us into the image of Christ

There is not a moment nor mile on this earth that does not rest in the sovereign hand of God. Thus we can trust that He knows our pain, and even more, that our suffering is not meaningless. He is a kind, loving doctor—curing the infirmities of our hearts. Sometimes medicine and procedures are painful, but they are always done for a good reason. God is working for our good: “For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison” (2 Cor. 4:17).

Bill Gates Explains That The Covid Vaccine Will Use Experimental Technology And Permanently Alter Your DNA | DC Clothesline

“Currently, there are no RNA vaccines approved for human use.” ~Wikipedia

Rather than instruct people on how to improve their overall health or boost their immunity with healthy foods, quality supplements, and physical activity, the powers-that-be are telling the world that the only way to survive the Coronavirus crisis is to rush the development of a vaccine and then inject every human being on the planet.

The U.S. government along with major cities like Chicago are already moving forward with plans to use government resources and the military to distribute hundreds of millions of doses of vaccines to Americans by the end of the year.

At the forefront of this conversation is Bill Gates, who has emerged somehow as the world’s leading expert on pandemics and vaccines. Through his foundation he supports the WHO and the development of new vaccines, and is currently backing a number of pharmaceutical companies as they race to invent the product that will save the world from Covid-19.

Typically, the process of developing, testing and mass producing vaccines takes years, but thanks to newly emerging, experimental technology, Gates hopes to be able to vaccine “7 billion healthy people” in record time.

A new generation of vaccines is emerging as we speak. At present there are no DNA and RNA vaccines approved for human use, but as Gates says in the following post from his personal blog, the time for trying these out on everyone has come. In the following comment he explains the difference between traditional vaccines and DNA/RNA vaccines, which, again, have never been approved for human use:

“Vaccines circumvent this whole process by teaching your body how to defeat a pathogen without ever getting sick. The two most common types—and the ones you’re probably most familiar with—are inactivated and live vaccines. Inactivated vaccines contain pathogens that have been killed. Live vaccines, on the other hand, are made of living pathogens that have been weakened (or “attenuated”). They’re highly effective but more prone to side effects than their inactivated counterparts.

Inactivated and live vaccines are what we consider “traditional” approaches. There are a number of COVID-19 vaccine candidates of both types, and for good reason: they’re well-established. We know how to test and manufacture them.

The downside is that they’re time-consuming to make. There’s a ton of material in each dose of a vaccine. Most of that material is biological, which means you have to grow it. That takes time, unfortunately.

That’s why I’m particularly excited by two new approaches that some of the candidates are taking: RNA and DNA vaccines. If one of these new approaches pans out, we’ll likely be able to get vaccines out to the whole world much faster. (For the sake of simplicity, I’m only going to explain RNA vaccines. DNA vaccines are similar, just with a different type of genetic material and method of administration.)

Our foundation—both through our own funding and through CEPI—has been supporting the development of an RNA vaccine platform for nearly a decade. We were planning to use it to make vaccines for diseases that affect the poor like malaria, but now it’s looking like one of the most promising options for COVID. The first candidate to start human trials was an RNA vaccine created by a company called Moderna.

Here’s how an RNA vaccine works: rather than injecting a pathogen’s antigen into your body, you instead give the body the genetic code needed to produce that antigen itself. When the antigens appear on the outside of your cells, your immune system attacks them—and learns how to defeat future intruders in the process. You essentially turn your body into its own vaccine manufacturing unit.

Because RNA vaccines let your body do most of the work, they don’t require much material. That makes them much faster to manufacture. There’s a catch, though: we don’t know for sure yet if RNA is a viable platform for vaccines. Since COVID would be the first RNA vaccine out of the gate, we have to prove both that the platform itself works and that it creates immunity. It’s a bit like building your computer system and your first piece of software at the same time.” ~ Bill Gates

So, the rushed Covid-19 vaccine will not be a traditional vaccine. It will not be tested in any significant or standard capacity given the present state of emergency. It will be administered by the military, and it everyone on the planet will have to take it.

As noted by investigative journalist Jon Rappoport:

“Two new technologies are in the COVID testing pipeline as we speak: DNA and RNA vaccines. They have never been released for public use. DNA technology is actually gene therapy. Genes are injected into the body, and they permanently alter the genetic makeup of the recipient in unknown ways. RNA vaccines would carry the danger of triggering autoimmune reactions, meaning the body basically goes to war against itself.

The vaccine that is being tapped by the US government… under its National Institutes of Health…through drug company Moderna…HAS NEVER BEEN USED ON THE PUBLIC BEFORE. IT IS NOT LICENSED FOR PUBLIC USE.

RNA VACCINES AND THE TECHNOLOGY THEY USE ARE ENTIRELY EXPERIMENTAL.

AND THIS IS THE TYPE OF VACCINE BEING RUSHED INTO EXISTENCE IN 90 DAYS.

What in the world could possibly go wrong?

One way to find out is to unleash it on millions of people, stand back, and see.” ~Jon Rappoport

H.R. 6666 – The Nullifying Your 4th Amendment And Forcibly Separating Your Family To Keep You ‘Safe’ Act | DC Dirty Laundry

Representative Bobby Rush (D-Il) introduced on May 1st H.R. 6666, a piece of Orwellian legislation that could create a national surveillance and quarantine program, allow government entry into our homes to test for Covid-19 and even grant the authority to remove Americans from their homes by force.

Also called the TRACE Act (Testing, Reaching and Contacting Everyone), the bill was co-sponsored by 58 house democrats and touts that it would allow the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) to provide grants to some hospitals, schools, and nonprofits to help fight the coronavirus.

“This bill authorizes the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to award grants for testing, contact tracing, monitoring, and other activities to address COVID-19 (i.e., coronavirus disease 2019).” [SOURCE]

However, the law would also give these organizations the power to test Americans for Covid-19 “as necessary, at individuals’ residences, and for other purposes,” and give the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) the authority to forcibly remove Americans from their homes if “necessitated by the circumstances of the declared emergency.” [SOURCE]

This bill is in clear violation of the fourth amendment, which guarantees, “the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures.” The key word here is ‘unreasonable’, however, meaning if the Supreme Court classifies it as ‘reasonable’, these home invasions will remain legal despite being clearly against the spirit of the law.

The push for forced entry echoes remarks made by the World Health Organization’s Dr. Michael Ryan in early April.

“In some senses, transmission has been taken off the streets and pushed back into family units, now we need to go and look in families and find those people who may be sick and remove them, and isolate them, in a safe and dignified manner.” – Dr. Michael Ryan [SOURCE]

The Queen of England voiced her support for forced entry as she compared it to British evacuations prior to the London bombings of WWII.

“[Citizens were] evacuated from their homes and sent away for their own safety. Today, once again, many will feel a painful separation from their loved ones but now, as then, we know, deep down, it is the right thing to do.” [SOURCE]

The TRACE Act has a keen focus on ‘contact tracing’, a term that effectively means government surveillance of our everyday behavior. Its purpose is to test for who has the coronavirus and to whom they may have come in contact. In Washington State, the government will soon require restaurants catalogue the phone numbers, emails, and time of arrival of every customer.

You may want to think twice if you believe that these programs will ever go away once enacted. Governments rarely give up power without incredible pushback from voters. Edward Snowden articulated this brilliantly while the pandemic was still in its early stage.

“Do you truly believe that when the first wave, this second wave, the 16th wave of the coronavirus is a long-forgotten memory, that these capabilities will not be kept? That these datasets will not be kept? No matter how it is being used, what is being built is the architecture of oppression.” – Edward Snowden [SOURCE]

Interestingly, Bill Gates was recently awarded patent #060606 for a, “crypto currency system using human body activity data.” In layman terms, it’s a patent for a digital tattoo microchip which can detect ‘body activity.’ Millions of dollars have already been awarded to companies for similar technologies by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Watch Luke Rudkowski discuss the larger agenda behind the TRACE Act on Bitchute:

How the FBI used news leaks to push Trump-Russia agenda | WND

James Comey (FBI photo)

By Chuck Ross
Daily Caller News Foundation

A common theme that has emerged from the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation is bureau officials’ use of media reports and leaks to advance aspects of the bureau’s probe of the Trump campaign’s possible ties to Russia.

In at least five instances, FBI officials capitalized on the so-called news hooks — also called news pegs, in journalistic jargon — as justification to open up new areas of the investigation.

James Comey, Andrew McCabe and Peter Strzok all took advantage of media reports to push the investigation forward. And in one case, Comey orchestrated a leak of his own to spur the appointment of a special counsel.

Prominent media outlets played a key role in advancing the now-debunked theory that the Trump campaign colluded with the Russian government. Much of that media manipulation centered around the infamous Steele dossier, which the Clinton campaign and DNC funded.

Christopher Steele, a former British spy, briefed numerous reporters, the FBI, Department of Justice (DOJ), State Department and think tank officials on his dossier. The FBI’s possession of the dossier itself would eventually serve as a news hook that allowed Steele’s unverified allegations to make their way into public view.

Comey’s dossier briefing to Donald Trump

Comey’s briefing on Jan. 6, 2017, to then-President-elect Donald Trump regarding allegations in the Steele dossier touched off a series of events that shifted the collusion investigation into high gear.

The FBI received information from Steele months earlier, and numerous media outlets had a copy of the full dossier, which accused the Trump campaign of conspiring with the Kremlin to influence the 2016 election. Steele, a former MI6 officer, also alleged that the Kremlin was blackmailing Trump with a sex videotape.

Comey has justified briefing Trump on the blackmail portion of the dossier claiming that he did so because the media had the dossier and was poised to publish it.

“I said I wasn’t saying this was true, only that I wanted him to know both that it had been reported and that the reports were in many hands,” Comey wrote in a memo following his briefing.

“I said media like CNN had them and were looking for a news hook. I said it was important that we not give them the excuse to write the FBI has the material or [redacted] and that we were keeping it very close hold.”

Despite Comey’s concerns, CNN found its excuse to write about the dossier. Four days after the briefing, the network reported that the meeting with Trump occurred and that he was briefed on the existence of a salacious document that alleged that the Russian government had compromising information on the president-elect.

BuzzFeed News used the CNN report as a news hook of its own. The website cited CNN’s report as justification to publish the entire dossier, sparking a controversy that drags on to this day.

While Comey has publicly claimed that his purpose for the Trump briefing was to warn the incoming president of rumors floating around about him, he also appears to have used the meeting to advance the Crossfire Hurricane probe.

FBI officials told the DOJ’s office of the inspector general (OIG) that they and Comey discussed using the briefing to collect information for Crossfire Hurricane.

“Witnesses interviewed by the OIG also said that they discussed Trump’s potential responses to being told about the ‘salacious’ information, including that Trump might make statements about, or provide information of value to, the pending Russian interference investigation,” reads an August 2019 report regarding Comey’s memos.

Comey told the OIG that he treated the memo he wrote following the Jan. 6, 2017, briefing as if it were obtained through surveillance, suggesting that he viewed it as material derived through an investigation rather than a simple defensive briefing.

According to the OIG report, Comey said his post-briefing memo “ought to be treated … [like] FISA derived information or information in a [counterintelligence] investigation,” a reference to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act.

Peter Strzok capitalizes on dossier’s release

The FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane investigators were far from upset over the publication of the dossier.

Strzok, the FBI deputy chief of counterintelligence at the time, immediately seized on the publication in order to advance the probe.

“Sitting with Bill watching CNN. A TON more out,” Strzok texted FBI lawyer Lisa Page on Jan. 10, 2017, just after publication of the dossier.

Strzok was seemingly referring to Bill Priestap, his boss at the FBI.

“Hey let me know when you can talk. We’re discussing whether, now that this is out, we use it as a pretext to go interview some people,” Strzok added.

According to an inspector general’s report on the Crossfire Hurricane probe, Strzok said that he recalled that the text messages referred to the possibility of interviewing former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

Steele accused both of taking part in the Trump-Kremlin conspiracy.

Strzok told the OIG investigators that the Steele dossier could be used as cover to conduct the interviews without compromising the Crossfire Hurricane probe.

“Strzok said the media release of the reports would be a logical reason for the FBI to interview Cohen and Manafort without alerting them to the Crossfire Hurricane investigation,” the OIG report stated.

Weeks after the dossier was published, two FBI agents would investigate former Trump campaign aide George Papadopoulos for the first time. Court documents show that the investigators initially told Papadopoulos that they wanted to speak to him about an associate, Sergei Millian, who had been identified in the media as a possible unwitting source for the dossier.

FBI agents also interviewed Steele’s primary dossier source in the days before Trump’s inauguration. That source told investigators that Steele embellished key parts of the dossier.

McCabe says leaks about Michael Flynn prompted White House interview

The FBI also seized on a seemingly illegal leak of classified information to the media in order to advance its investigation of Michael Flynn.

McCabe, who served as deputy director of the FBI, testified on Dec. 19, 2017, that FBI leaders wanted to use a column published in The Washington Post as a pretext to interview Flynn.

On Jan. 12, 2017, Post columnist David Ignatius cited a senior U.S. government official who said that Flynn had spoken by phone weeks earlier with Sergey Kislyak, the Russian ambassador to the United States. Ignatius raised the possibility that Flynn had discussed U.S. sanctions against Russia and that the retired general might have violated an obscure law called the Logan Act.

The leak appeared to be based on information from classified transcripts of Flynn’s calls in late December 2016 with Kislyak.

At the time, the FBI was investigating whether Flynn and three other Trump associates were working as agents of Russia.

On Jan. 24, 2017, days after Flynn took over as national security adviser, McCabe phoned him to arrange an interview at the White House.

“Why did the Bureau interview General Flynn when they did? What was the reasoning for the interview?” then-Rep. Trey Gowdy of South Carolina asked McCabe in a December 2017 House Intelligence Committee deposition.

“To the best of my recollection, we interviewed General Flynn at that time because of the existence … of his conversation, the record of his conversation with Ambassador Kislyak had become widely known through press reporting,” McCabe answered.

“[T]here was no reason to continue, kind of, in a covert investigative posture and so we wanted to sit down with General Flynn and understand, kind of, what his thoughts on that conversation were.”

Flynn pleaded guilty on Dec. 1, 2017, to making false statements during that interview. But the DOJ has since filed to drop the case after Flynn retracted his claim to have lied to the FBI.

Flynn’s lawyers and supporters have theorized that Flynn was somehow set up in a perjury trap through the use of the leak to the Post and McCabe’s request to interview Flynn. Ignatius’s source has not been publicly identified.

Comey orchestrated leaks to prompt special counsel

After his firing on May 9, 2017, Comey created a news hook to justify the appointment of a special counsel to take over Crossfire Hurricane.

Comey testified that he provided his memos to his friend, Daniel Richman, after his firing in order to prompt the appointment of a special counsel.

Comey said he authorized Richman to provide New York Times reporter Michael Schmidt with memos that laid out Comey’s interaction with Trump regarding the alleged request to not investigate Flynn.

“I asked a friend of mine to share the content of the memo with a reporter. Didn’t do it myself for a variety of reasons,” Comey told the Senate Intelligence Committee on June 7, 2017.

“I asked him to because I thought that might prompt the appointment of a special counsel.”

The Times published an article based on Comey’s memo on May 16, 2017. The next day, then-Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller to serve as special counsel.

Mueller’s investigation ultimately found no evidence to support the initial theory of Crossfire Hurricane: that members of the Trump campaign conspired with Russia. Mueller also found no evidence that any Trump associates acted as agents of the Russian government.

FBI used news articles to justify steps in Carter Page investigation

The FBI used several media reports to justify steps in their investigation into whether Carter Page was a Russian agent.

Applications for FISA orders that the FBI submitted on Page in 2016 and 2017 show at least three areas where news reports about the Trump aide were used to open up new lines of inquiry or to make the case that he was working for Russia.

The FISAs stated that an FBI confidential human source, or CHS, met with Page on Oct. 17, 2016, and “made general inquiries about the media reporting regarding Page’s contacts with Russian officials.”

The FBI source, Stefan Halper, had met with Page for the first time months earlier.

“Although Page did not provide any specific details to refute, dispel, or clarify the media reporting, he made vague statements that minimized his activities,” read the FISA applications, which have recently been declassified.

The FBI also cited reports that appeared in summer 2016 to justify its logic that Page was working with Russia.

One of Steele’s unverified claims was that Page secretly met two Kremlin insiders in Moscow in July 2016 to discuss relaxing U.S. sanctions against Russia, and to drive a wedge between the United States and Ukraine.

News reports in the Post and other outlets in July and August 2016 said the Trump campaign mysteriously altered the language in the GOP platform regarding providing lethal aid to Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

Citing those reports and Steele’s allegations, the FISA applications said that the “FBI assesses that, following Page’s meetings in Russia, Page helped influence [the Republican party] and [Trump’s] campaign to alter their platforms to be more sympathetic to Russia.”

That theory was ultimately debunked. The OIG report on Crossfire Hurricane said that the FBI omitted information showing that Page “played no role” in the platform change.

The FBI also cited a Yahoo! News article published Sept. 23, 2016, as part of the applications to obtain surveillance orders against Page, the FISA application shows.

There is some debate over whether the bureau cited the article as further evidence that Page was a Russian agent, or if the article was included in the FISA request in order to show that Page had denied working with the Kremlin.

The FISA application shows that the FBI discussed the article in a section which showed that Page denied allegations in the Yahoo! News story. The FBI dismissed Page’s denials, writing in the surveillance application that the “FBI believes that Page’s comments were self-serving and, based on the source reporting described above, untrue.”

Steele was the source for the article, but the FBI failed to disclose that link in the FISA applications. The IG report stated that while some FBI investigators believed that Steele was Yahoo’s source, other FBI agents believed that someone else was the source.

Steele himself denied being the source during an Oct. 3, 2016, meeting with FBI agents. He expressed frustration at what he called leaks regarding his dossier, the IG report stated.

He said that the leaks were causing his source network to dry up. One FBI agent told the IG that he was shocked that Steele would complain about leaks when he was the source for multiple journalists who wrote about the dossier.

Lindsey Graham wants to subpoena Russia-collusion investigators | WND

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., in his opening remarks chairing the House Judiciary Committee testimony of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz Dec. 11, 2019 (screenshot)

Sen. Lindsey Graham, the chief of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has announced a procedure for the committee to vote on and authorize subpoenas for documents, information and testimony from Peter Strzok, Bruce and Nellie Ohr, James Comey, James Baker, Lisa Page, John Podesta, Rod Rosenstein, Bill Priestap, Susan Rice, Christopher Wray, Sally Yates and others.

They all are thought to have first-hand information about the Russia collusion investigation launched by Democrats against President Trump when he was elected.

That investigation included FBI special counsel Bob Mueller’s two-year-long investigation that concluded there wasn’t evidence that the Trump 2016 campaign colluded.

Graham said on Monday the committee will debate and vote on a subpoena authorization that focuses on the FISA abuse investigation and oversight of the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.

These topics also apparently are the subject of a criminal investigation being conducted now by U.S. Attorney John Durham.

Graham’s announcement said the subpoena authorization would cover documents, communications and testimony from witnesses such as Comey, Andrew McCabe, James Clapper, John Brennan and others who played a role in the attacks on the president.

The vote is expected on June 4.

Graham explained under Senate Judiciary Committee rules the chairman cannot by himself issue a subpoena. That can happen only with the consent of the senior minority party member, in this case the top Democrat, or by committee vote.

Graham said he would use the precedent set by Democrats in 2008 when they were in the majority and authorized subpoenas by party-line vote.

Sought are documents and communications referenced in, and testimony at a hearing or deposition of “any individual named or identified by pseudonym in the report titled ‘Review of Four FISA applications and Other Aspects of the FBI’s Crossfire Hurricane Investigation’ issued by the U.S. Department of Justice Inspector General.”

The IG already has concluded the Democrats in the Obama administration made many major errors in the process of submitting information to the FISA court in their pursuit of permission to spy on the Trump campaign.

Others who could be summoned include Trisha Anderson, Brian Auten, William Barr, Dana Boente, Jennifer Boone, Kevin Clinesmith, Patrick Conlon, Michael Dempsey, Stuart Evans, Tashina Gauhar, Carl Ghattas, Curtis Heide, Kathleen Kavalec, David Laufman, Stephen Laycock, Jacob Lew, Loretta Lynch, Mary McCord, Denis McDonough, Arthur McGlynn, Jonathan Moffa, Sally Moyer, Mike Neufield, Sean Newell, Victoria Nuland, Stephanie O’Sullivan, Joseph Pientka, Samantha Power, Sarah Raskin, Steve Ricchetti, Gabriel Sanz-Rexach, Nathan Sheets, Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, Glenn Simpson, Steve Somma, Michael Sussman, Adam Szubin and Jonathan Winer.

The Washington Examiner explained, “Facing growing pressure from the Right to make good on his pledge to subpoena officials who may have knowledge of the investigation’s origins, the senator has said timing is a factor. Graham noted earlier this month that he wanted to avoid ‘interfering in an ongoing criminal matter,’ referring to U.S. Attorney John Durham’s investigation of the Russia inquiry.”

The IG’s report last year criticized the Justice Department and the FBI over at least 17 “significant errors and omissions” related to the FISA warrants against Trump campaign associate Carter Page in 2016 and 2017 and for the bureau’s reliance on Steele’s salacious, and now-debunked, dossier.

Steele’s claims were created at the request of Fusion GPS, an opposition research firm hired by Hillary Clinton’s campaign.

Footnotes newly declassified by Barr and acting spy chief Richard Grenell show that the FBI was aware that Steele’s dossier might have been compromised by Russian disinformation.

Phone Calls Between Biden And Ukraine’s Poroshenko Leaked; Details $1 Billion “Quid Pro Quo” To Fire Burisma Prosecutor | ZeroHedge News

Leaked phone calls between Joe Biden and former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko explicitly detail the quid-pro-quo arrangement to fire former Ukrainian Prosecutor General Victor Shokin – who Poroshenko admits did nothing wrong – in exchange for $1 billion in US loan guarantees (which Biden openly bragged about in January, 2018).

Shokin was notably investigating Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company that hired Biden’s son, Hunter, to sit on its board. Shokin had opened a case against Burisma’s founder, Mykola Zlochevsky, who granted Burisma permits to drill for oil and gas in Ukraine while he was Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources. In January, 2019, Shokin stated in a deposition that there were fivecriminal cases against Zlochevesky, including money laundering, corruption, illegal funds transfers, and profiteering through shell corporations while he was a sitting minister.

Viktor Shokin

The leaked calls begin on December 3, 2015, when former Secretary of State John Kerry starts laying out the case to fire Shokin – who he says “blocked the cleanup of the Prosecutor Generals’ Office,” and sated that Biden “is very concerned about it,” to which Poroshenko replies that the newly reorganized prosecutor general’s office (NABU) won’t be able to pursue corruption charges, and that it may be difficult to fire Shokin without cause.

Later in the leaked audio on February 18, 2016 – less than three months after the Kerry conversation – Poroshenko delivers some “positive news.”

“Yesterday I met with General Prosecutor Shokin,” says Poroshenko. And despite of the fact that we didn’t have any corruption charges, we don’t have any information about him doing something wrong, I specially asked him – no, it was day before yesterday – I specially asked him to resign. In, uh, as his, uh, position as a state person. And despite of the fact that he has a support in the power. And as a finish of my meeting with him, he promised to give me the statement on resignation. And one hour ago he bring me the written statement of his resignation. And this is my second step for keeping my promises.

To which Biden replied: “I agree.”

Four weeks later on March 22, 2016, Biden says “Tell me that there is a new government and a new Prosecutor General. I am prepared to do a public signing of the commitment for the billion dollars.

Poroshenko tells Biden that one of the leading candidates is the man who replaced Shokin, Yuriy Lutsenko who later said in a deposition that Hunter Biden and his business partners were receiving millions of dollars in compensation from Burisma.

Then, on May 13, 2016, Biden congratulates Poroshenko on “getting the new Prosecutor General,” saying that it will be “critical for him to work quickly to repair the damage Shokin did.”

And I’m a man of my word,” Biden adds. “And now that the new Prosecutor General is in place, we’re ready to move forward to signing that one billion dollar loan guarantee.”

Poroshenko thanks Biden for the support, and says that it was a “very tough challenge and a very difficult job.”

Shokin, meanwhile, filed a criminal complaint against Biden in Kiev this February, in which he writes:

During the period 2014-2016, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine was conducting a preliminary investigation into a series of serious crimescommitted by the former Minister of Ecology of Ukraine Mykola Zlotchevsky and by the managers of the company “Burisma Holding Limited “(Cyprus), the board of directors of which included, among others, Hunter Biden, son of Joseph Biden, then vice-president of the United States of America.

The investigation into the above-mentioned crimes was carried out in strict accordance with Criminal Law and was under my personal control as the Prosecutor General of Ukraine.

Owing to my firm position on the above-mentioned cases regarding their prompt and objective investigation, which should have resulted in the arrest and the indictment of the guilty parties, Joseph Biden developed a firmly hostile attitude towards me which led him to express in private conversations with senior Ukrainian officials, as well as in his public speeches, a categorical request for my immediate dismissal from the post of Attorney General of Ukraine in exchange for the sum of US $ 1 billion in as a financial guarantee from the United States for the benefit of Ukraine.

* * *

And now we have the audio that shows how the deed was orchestrated.

God of Isaiah vs. the “higher power”

The Word Like Fire

“I, even I, am the one who wipes out your transgressions for My own sake,
And I will not remember your sins. (Isaiah 43:25)

In 1941, Jack Alexander of the Saturday Evening Post wrote the article that provided A.A. its first national publicity. Describing A.A.’s “higher power,” Alexander noted the following:

[The alcoholic] “may choose to think of his Inner Self, the miracle of growth, a tree, man’s wonderment at the physical universe, the structure of the atom, or mere mathematical infinity. Whatever form is visualized, the neophyte is taught that he must rely on it and, in his own way, to pray to the Power for strength.” [1]

Please note that Alexander’s article, with this A.A. definition of “god,” is distributed as official Alcoholics Anonymous literature.

We can warn against the New Apostolic Reformation, contemplative prayer, The Shack, the Enneagram, Bill Johnson’s Bethel Redding, etc., and that is fine and good…

May 19 Rahab and Sarah

Through faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive. … By faith the harlot Rahab perished not.
(Hebrews 11:11, 31)

Hebrews eleven is faith’s “Hall of Fame.” In it you’ll find Sarah, Abraham’s wife, and Rahab the prostitute. Now, I understand Sarah being there, but how in the world did Rahab get there? Because God saw in Rahab what He also saw in Sarah—faith, which is why He saved her. God’s not looking at your present position or your past problems; He’s looking at your faith. No matter how many mistakes you’ve made, if you’ll just believe God, you can get to live next door to Sarah. Not only you, but He’ll save your entire house, too. That’s right! He saved Rahab’s whole family—and her’s alone.

You’d have thought that God would save some nice little old lady’s house, with petunias growing in her garden. Instead, He saved the harlot’s house. Why? Because she had faith, and that’s what moves God. When it was all over, she was the richest woman in the city and the only person in town who owned property. Her faith saved her family, her finances, and her future. She even went on to become one of the great-grandmothers of our Lord. Often we settle for less because we didn’t meet the best. But when you find the best, it gives you the power to let go of the rest.

And that’s what will happen to you when you meet Jesus and put your trust in Him.[1]

May 19th The D. L. Moody Year Book

Which is the earnest of our inheritance.—Ephesians 1:14.

A POOR woman once told Rowland Hill that the way to heaven was short, easy and simple; comprising only three steps—out of self, into Christ, and into glory. We have a shorter way now—out of self and into Christ. That is heaven begun below—a little of what waits us over there.[1]

May 19 Feeding Sheep

John 21:17

Jesus said to [Peter], “Feed My sheep.”

The final chapter of John’s Gospel records one of the last conversations between the resurrected Lord Jesus and Peter. Just days earlier, Peter had denied his Lord beside a fire. Now, beside another fire, he will be restored. Just as Peter had denied Christ three times, he would be given three opportunities to confess his love for Jesus.

That’s the portion of the story most people remember. Jesus uses one word for love—a strong, intense word for committed love—and Peter, his confidence shattered, comes back with a weaker word in reply. That happens two times, until finally Jesus looks Peter in the eyes and uses Peter’s own, weaker word, as if to say, “Peter, do you even care for Me as a friend?”

The question breaks the big fisherman’s heart, but Jesus neither rejects nor casts the sorrowing man aside. On the contrary, He recommissions Peter in the kingdom. In no uncertain terms, He gives him a job to do.

That is the portion of the story so often overlooked. Every time Peter answered the Lord, the Lord gave him a strong, specific command: “Feed my lambs, Peter”; “Tend my sheep, Peter”; “Feed my sheep, Peter.”

Peter got the message. Do you?[1]

COVID-19 Deaths In Context: How Many People Die Each Day? | Zero Hedge

As the COVID-19 pandemic rages on, the media continues to rattle off statistics at full force.

However, as Visual Capitalist’s Jenna Ross notes, without a frame of reference, numbers such as the death toll can be difficult to interpret. Mortalities attributed to the virus, for example, are often measured in the thousands of people per day globally—but is this number a little or a lot, relative to typical causes of death?

Today’s graphic uses data from Our World in Data to provide context with the total number of worldwide daily deaths. It also outlines how many people who die each day from specific causes.

Worldwide Deaths by Cause

Nearly 150,000 people die per day worldwide, based on the latest comprehensive research published in 2017. Which diseases are the most deadly, and how many lives do they take per day?

Here’s how many people die each day on average, sorted by cause:

Cardiovascular diseases, or diseases of the heart and blood vessels, are the leading cause of death. However, their prominence is not reflected in our perceptions of death nor in the media.

While the death toll for HIV/AIDS peaked in 2004, it still affects many people today. The disease causes over 2,600 daily deaths on average.

Interestingly, terrorism and natural disasters cause very few deaths in relation to other causes. That said, these numbers can vary from day to day—and year to year—depending on the severity of each individual instance.

Total Daily Deaths by Country

On a national level, these statistics vary further. Below are the total deaths from all causes for selected countries, based on 2017 data.

China and India both see more than 25,000 total deaths per day, due to their large populations.

However, with 34.7 daily deaths per million people each day, Russia has the highest deaths proportional to population out of any of these countries.

Keeping Perspective

While these numbers help provide some context for the global scale of COVID-19 deaths, they do not offer a direct comparison.

The fact is that many of the aforementioned death rates are based on much larger and consistent sample sizes of data. On the flipside, since WHO declared COVID-19 a pandemic on March 11, 2020, daily confirmed deaths have fallen in a wide range between 272 and 10,520 per day—and there is no telling what could happen in the future.

On top of this variance, data on confirmed COVID-19 deaths has other quirks. For example, testing rates for the virus may vary between jurisdictions, and there have also been disagreements between authorities on how deaths should even be tallied in the first place. This makes getting an accurate picture surprisingly complicated.

While it’s impossible to know the true death toll of COVID-19, it is clear that in some countries daily deaths have reached rates 50% or higher than the historical average for periods of time:

Time, and further analysis, will be required to determine a more accurate COVID-19 death count.
