Biden’s Basement Strategy: Just Say Nothing | ZeroHedge News

Some polls now have Joe Biden running ahead of Donald Trump by 10 points and sweeping the battleground states of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. This vindicates the strategy Biden’s advisers have adopted:

Confine Joe to his basement, no press conferences. Trot him out to recite carefully scripted messages for the cameras. Then lead him back to his stall.

This enables Biden to avoid the blazing questions that are dividing not only Democrats and Republicans but liberals and leftists. And most of these issues touch on the explosive subject of race.

Consider. California’s legislature just voted to put to a statewide ballot in November a return to the racial preferences that were banned as discriminatory in a statewide referendum, 25 years ago.

The proposal would reverse the 1995 constitutional amendment, approved by 55% of voters, which outlawed “preferential treatment” based on “race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin.”

If the measure carries, California returns to a racial spoils system.

Race preferences are being pushed because they are needed to bring about greater representation of Blacks and Hispanics in the student bodies of elite schools of the state university system like UCLA and the University of California, Berkeley.

Asian students are today “overrepresented” in these prestigious schools, because of their superior test scores.

Where does Biden stand on anti-Asian discrimination?

Earlier this June, the California Assembly voted to establish a task force to make recommendations for reparations for slavery.

Now, California did not enter the Union until 1850, and slavery was outlawed in the state constitution, though several thousand slaves were brought there during the 1849 Gold Rush.

Where does Biden stand on reparations for slavery?

Many of the recent protests in the wake of George Floyd’s death have involved the desecration and destruction of monuments.

What does Biden think about tearing down statues of Christopher Columbus and Robert E. Lee? Where does Biden stand on destroying statues of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Andrew Jackson, Lincoln, Grant and Theodore Roosevelt?

What did Biden think of the removal of the statue of Caesar Rodney, Delaware statesman and slave owner, who, despite a grave illness, rode to Philadelphia to sign Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence and cast his lot with the American Revolution?

Understandably, Biden would prefer not having to choose between Caesar Rodney and BLM.

Black men are arrested and incarcerated more often than whites because of the systemic racism of law enforcement officials, we are told.

Does Biden believe white cops are congenital racists?

In the great cities where the killing of Black men is today all too common, the regimes that have ruled them for decades have been almost wholly Democratic.

Does Biden believe there is systemic racism in the ruling circles of all these Democratic-run cities?

Over the last month, there has been an explosion of shootings and killings. In Chicago, over Memorial Day, 84 people were shot, 24 mortally.

Last weekend in Chicago, 106 people were shot and 14 killed. New York City is experiencing the worst shooting violence in a quarter century.

Is there systemic racism in the police departments of our great cities? Again, who has been running those cities, if not Democrats?

Is there inequality in wealth between Black and white America because of systemic racism? If so, why did that inequality persist through two terms of our first Black president, with Biden as his VP?

Does Biden believe, with Elizabeth Warren, in wealth taxes on the rich and wealth transfers to close the Black-white wealth gap?

Is there systemic racism in American media?

Our dominant media institutions include The Washington Post, New York Times, ABC, CBS and NBC. All are controlled by liberals.

Is there systemic racism in our great universities and colleges? Yet, Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, and the rest of the Ivy League have long been run by an entrenched liberal elite.

Is our huge federal workforce permeated by racism?

Though African Americans are 13% of the U.S. population, they occupy 18% of all federal jobs.

Is there systemic racism in our public schools? Who controls the teachers unions? Who fills almost all of the teaching positions?

Is there systemic racism in California? If so, who is at fault? The governor, both senators, both houses of the legislature, all statewide offices, and 46 of 53 U.S. House seats in California are held by Democrats.

If Biden emerges, then he will have to answer why all these institutions where his party and people are predominant — the media, Hollywood, the academic community, public schools, big-city governments, the big foundations, the federal bureaucracy — are apparently shot through with systemic racism after decades of Democratic dominance.

And, more precisely, what he intends to do about it.

Perhaps it’s better to shelter in place in the basement.

Members of the coronavirus task force hold a media briefing on Friday, its first in two months. The task force has been out of the public eye since the White House on April 27 stopped holding what had been near-daily briefings. Friday’s briefing comes as the outbreak spreads in numerous states, including California, Oklahoma, Arizona, Florida and Texas, which are seeing record numbers of new infections.

Lindsey Graham: William Barr cleaning up ‘sewer that was the Obama Justice Department’

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., commended Attorney General William Barr for cleaning up the “sewer” left by Obama-era Justice Department (DOJ) officials, citing newly uncovered notes penned by then-FBI agent Peter Strzok that appeared to show both the former vice president Joe Biden and President Obama had been part of the case against ex-Trump national security adviser Gen. Michael Flynn.

Judicial Watch Obtains Secret Service Records Showing Hunter Biden Traveled to 29 Countries, Including Five Visits to China — The Gateway Pundit

Conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained Secret Service records for the first five years of the Obama Admin showing Hunter Biden took 411 flights and visited 29 countries.

The Secret Service did not disclose, as requested by Judicial Watch, if Hunter Biden flew on Air Force One, Air Force Two or other government planes or whether other family members were in attendance.

The records reveal Hunter Biden visited China 5 times.

The new documents also show that Hunter Biden never visited Ukraine prior to being hired by Burisma Holdings, a corrupt Ukrainian natural gas company.

Judicial Watch announced today it received records from the U.S. Secret Service showing that, for the first five and a half years of the Obama administration, Hunter Biden traveled extensively while receiving a Secret Service protective detail. During the time period of the records provided, Hunter Biden, son of then-Vice President Joe Biden, took 411 separate domestic and international flights, including to 29 different foreign countries. He visited China five times.

The Secret Service records show that countries and territories visited by Hunter Biden, between June 2009 and May 2014, included:

  • Ethiopia and India on June 14-22, 2009
  • Argentina on September 14-17, 2009
  • France and Spain on November 9-13, 2009
  • Canada on February 12-15, 2010
  • Dominican Republic on February 18-22, 2010

Ukraine and China knew Hunter Biden was a crackhead and chronic drug addict but paid him millions anyway — the countries then used it as fodder to blackmail daddy VP Joe Biden.

After many arrests and several stops into drug treatment facilities, Hunter joined his father, Vice President Joe Biden on a trip to China in 2013 where Hunter — inexperienced and out of place — was able to secure a $1.5 billion from China for private equity fund which he was forming at the time.

Even the best hedge fund managers at Goldman Sachs were unable to accomplish this, but crackhead Hunter Biden had the special touch of genius apparently.

Then in April 2014, just a couple months later, Hunter Biden Hunter joined the Board of Burisma Holdings in the Ukraine. Hunter served on the Board until early 2019. Hunter was paid approximately $50,000 a month in his position.

Joe and Hunter Biden still have not been forced to answer for their corruption, bribery and money laundering schemes.

“Given the Burisma-Ukraine-China influence peddling scandals, Hunter Biden’s extensive international travel during the Obama-Biden presidency, including at least 5 trips to China, will raise additional questions.” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

2 Views of America: Ronald Reagan vs. Albert Mohler — Capstone Report

There are two views of America: A land of harmony & peace or a land of systemic racism

Ronald Reagan saw America as a City on a Hill: “I’ve spoken of the shining city all my political life, but I don’t know if I ever quite communicated what I saw when I said it. But in my mind, it was a tall proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, wind-swept, God blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace—a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity, and if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors, and the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. That’s how I saw it, and see it still.”[1]

As Henry Kissinger noted Reagan truly viewed America like this and because of it led America to victory in the Cold War. Kissinger said, “America as a shining city on a hill was not a metaphor for Reagan; it actually existed for him because he willed it to exist.”[2]

Contrast this optimistic view of America and its promise with what Al Mohler just said. Mohler views America as racked by unjust structures.

“Yes, there is systemic racism and systemic sin in America,” Mohler said.

Mohler tries to finesse what this means. “Do we believe in structural racism? Yes and no. Yes, in that sinful human beings bring their individual sin, including racism, into the structures and systems of society. We have seen that take place over the course of human history, and we can see it in the policies, laws, habits, and customs of our own society in this contemporary moment. This means that systemic racism is one of many aspects of sin’s presence in our society. Abortion, for example, represents another horrifying facet of systemic sin.

So, what does it mean?

“This means that no structural overhaul, no revolution, no eradication of biblical Christianity will secure lasting justice and peace,” Mohler said. Right before urging stamping out structural sin. “We are called to do everything within our power to expunge sin from the structures of our society. Christians know that the justice of God demands that we do so.”

Oh, and if you think the Founders and our Founding documents aren’t sinful, let Al Mohler dispel you of that belief.

Mohler writes, “Our national history unquestionably reveals structures of racism. When the nation was founded, the Constitution allowed for race-based chattel slavery. Black human beings were viewed as less human than those with lighter skin. Not only do we find systemic racism in the institution of slavery, but also in the era that followed the American Civil War in the Jim Crow South, and in pervasive notions of white supremacy that, for example, can be traced to President Woodrow Wilson in the White House. States and local governments codified race-based discrimination and enacted economic policies that harmed African American communities.”

Also, notice the trick Mohler uses to distract you. He talks about abortion. He uses that as an individual sin that is a systemic sin.

However, Mohler ignores the point—Abortion is Legal. Racism is banned in just about every way possible. And has been. The Fair Housing Act became law in 1968.

Here is the challenge: You claim America has systemic racism. Then prove it. Show examples of it today. Let’s see the stats not your ex cathedra pronouncement that such exists. Denying systemic racism are the likes of Walter Williams and Thomas Sowell. What do you have to affirm it? Matthew “I’m a racist and white supremacist” Hall? Howard Zinn?

Elites betray America

Also, Kissinger’s view of America is worthy of consideration. He wrote, “Having spent my childhood as a member of a discriminated minority in a totalitarian system and then as an immigrant to the United States, I have experienced the liberating aspects of American values.”[3]

That isn’t to say America is perfect.

It isn’t. You can hear on tapes Richard Nixon using racial and anti-Semitic talk  to Kissinger. It is horrible.

Yet, America has changed. It bans arbitrary and capricious discrimination. The public rejects racist talk.

However, Kissinger’s experience teaches us that America and its values are great.

America and its values are worthy of respect and protection.

Rich Lowry notes how Elites have worked to destroy the image of America. He explains the corrosive work of Howard Zinn’s Marxist view of American History. Then with this powerful excerpt from Samuel Huntington, he explains the treason of the elites: “In the 1960s and 1970s,” Samuel Huntington writes, “they began to promote measures consciously designed to weaken America’s cultural and creedal identity and to strengthen racial, ethnic, cultural, and other subnational identities. These efforts by a nation’s leaders to deconstruct the nation they governed were, quite possibly, without precedent in human history.”[4]

And this is what Al Mohler’s assertion of America as systemically racist does. It destroys our shared identity and strength. It lies about America—the least racist land in the world. As Ben Shapiro pointed out this week, there is so little actual racism in America that the Leftist media must invent racist stories.

America is a land that fought a Civil War to free the slaves. America is a land with millions upon millions of immigrants. It welcomes political refugees.

So, compare the views of Ronald Reagan and Albert Mohler. Which best fits the facts?

Is America a shining city on a hill?

Or, is America a racist land with structures that must change?

Al Mohler has joined the Elites deconstructing America. He offers no proof that America is racist other than historical facts–facts long since moot because of America’s conscious decision to outlaw racism.

Iran has denied this.

Iraqi security forces have raided a base belonging to a powerful Iran-backed armed group in southern Baghdad and detained at least 14 militia members… The raid late on Thursday was the most brazen action by Iraqi forces against a major Iran-backed group in years and targeted the Kataib Hezbollah faction, which United States officials have accused of firing rockets at bases hosting US troops and other facilities in Iraq.

Magnitude 5.5 quake hits western Turkey
An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 5.5 hit a town in western Turkey on Friday, sending people rushing out of buildings. There were no immediate reports of any casualties or damage. The earthquake was centered in the town of Saruhanli, in Manisa province, at a depth of 9 kilometers (5.6 miles), the government-run Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency said.

If you haven’t figured things out by now, the ‘fight to end racial injustice’ on the radical Left is actually a fight to destroy the United States of America. The keen-eyed observer will notice that along with Confederate statues being torn down, statues of legitimate American heros like Abraham Lincoln, Ulysses S. Grant and Teddy Roosevelt are also being targeted. What does that tell you the real target is? That’s right, it’s America that they hate.

How Our Mass Dishonor Of Elders Helps Destroy Society

Over the last 70 years, the glorification of youth-centric culture has exacerbated the degradation of parental honorHollywood sought to portray parents as unsophisticated and antiquated in their perspectives, and the entertainment industry successfully communicated this through sophomoric plot narratives and  imbecilic and self-interested parental characters.

The 1970s classic “All in the Family” depicts Archie Bunker, the traditional all-American father and husband, as a chauvinist and racist. His more open-minded and progressive family futilely attempts to “educate” him throughout the series.

Similarly, contemporary hits like “Shameless” have brought the media’s attack on parenthood full circle. The show tracks the story of patriarch and deadbeat father Frank Gallagher, who repeatedly abandons his family in search of booze and chicanery while his children fight for survival in South Side, Chicago, mirroring the degenerate behavior of their parents.

Although some of these storylines can be entertaining or humorous, the media has made a mockery of the common foresight possessed by parents and elders. In doing so, they have cultivated ridicule and irreverence towards the wisdom of elder generations. This altering of the public consciousness extends to the lack of value youth are now typically willing to place on the wisdom of those in seniority. In its place, society mindlessly extols and champions the ethos of adolescence, assigning equivalent value to the whims of youth, in contrast to the prudence of adulthood.

This shift is exemplified by the rapid anointing of Greta Thunberg as a climate change expert. Thunberg was trotted out by the United Nations (UN), at age 16, to give a speech condemning world leaders for their “self-serving” policies “wreaking havoc” on the climate. “You are still not mature enough to tell it like it is. You are failing us,” she scolded. In a climate protest in Germany earlier that year, Thunberg admonished adults further, “We are striking because we have done our homework, and they [those in authority] have not.”

Within hours of her speech at the UN in 2019, Thunberg was essentially ordained a global warming tsar. She swiftly began appearing on the cable news circuit and was even called upon as an expert for CNN’s coronavirus panel. Upon witnessing the media’s canonization of Thunberg, one cannot help but be reminded of the biblical admonition, “As for My people, children are their oppressors…Those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths.”

This is not a suggestion to silence the voice of youth, but a caution to place it in a proper context. Within rational bounds, adolescents should retain their freedom of expression. In some cases, they can indeed provide sincere insights their elders may not be able to see. A society, however, that comprehensively lionizes youthful hyperbole, and gleefully rejects the wisdom of age invites a perpetual revisitation of past failures.

Twenty-first century “woke” culture regards itself as the inclusive and enlightened generation, whose obligation it is to “educate” those in authority. The media and educational systems, in unison, have successfully conditioned the last four generations of Americans to assign little worth to our nation’s forbearers — especially those figures with past transgressions and a fallible nature.

This has yielded an all or nothing, zero-sum game that has become especially prevalent throughout the educational system. There is no need for nuance or to recognize the complexity of an issue. There is no desire, moreover, to examine and wrestle with the complexity of human nature, to realize absolute truth, and become a more evolved society.

It’s now deemed superfluous to learn from the mistakes of our elders and achieve a greater understanding of a matter. Instead, the past can be corrected and the future remedied by giving a reductive analysis of history and cultural affairs — hence, the voracious call for the removal of historical monuments.

The chaos and rioting that erupted nationwide after the death of George Floyd also exemplifies this. Floyd’s death was heartbreaking to watch, and those across the political spectrum were quick to decry it as such. This failed to assuage elite media and the radical groups that encircle them, who harnessed the tragic event to procure leftist policies.

Peaceful protests were quickly hijacked by largely juvenile mobs, who called for police defunding, censoring of “offensive” television and movie programming, and the toppling of commemorative statues. In the aftermath of Floyd’s death, a photo went viral, showing a protestor in Philadelphia whipping a statute, complete with graffiti writing on its base, stating “colonizer” and “murderer.”

It was soon confirmed that the statue was in remembrance of abolitionist Mathias Baldwin. This misappropriation illustrates the perils of rashly following the collective echoes of youthful hyper-emotionalism and its disregard of knowledge and truth.

Those who try to hide the negative aspects of a people’s culture and history  hinder its ability to elevate itself and overcome its deficiencies and shortcomings. The danger that lies in following a youthful ethos is that it lacks the wisdom acquired from experience. In an effort to divorce ourselves from any reminder of shameful past transgressions, we unwittingly destroy what will ultimately enable us to realize the liberty and justice that our founders desired to achieve.

If children are our future, then we must begin to acknowledge and respect the role of parents and the wisdom of our elders, so that we may realize true success and affect authentic, lasting, positive change in our society.

The image of George Washington’s statue facing the ground after being toppled and vandalized in Portland fills my heart with immense sadness. The imagery set forth a wave of baleful nostalgia of a similar incident 54 years ago. During China’s Cultural Revolution, a prominent statue of Confucius was dismantled by militant university and high school students who referred to themselves as the “Red Guards.” It seems, in many respects, 2020 may be a repeat of 1966.

What drove Chinese Communist Party dictator Mao Zedong to launch the Cultural Revolution in May 1966 was his unquenchable desire to seize and maintain power. After his disastrous economic policy resulted in a three-year famine (1959-1961) and an estimated 20-30 million deaths, Mao temporarily retreated from the power center and let his relatively moderate colleagues take charge. But, in 1966, he was ready to seize power again in the name of a proletariat revolution in culture.

In an editorial for the People’s DailyMao’s propaganda chief, Chen Boda, explained the aims of this proletarian cultural revolution:

…not only at demolishing all the old ideology and culture and all the old customs and habits, which, fostered by the exploiting classes, have poisoned the minds of the people for thousands of years, but also at creating and fostering among the masses an entirely new ideology and culture and entirely new customs and habits — those of the proletariat.

Following this rallying cry, a campaign to get rid of the “four olds” — old customs, old culture, old habits, and old ideas — was launched across on college campuses in Beijing. Professors and leaders with western educational backgrounds, as well as those who demonstrated any traditional Chinese cultural influence, were quickly denounced and publicly humiliated as “monsters and demons” by their enthusiastic students.

Soon, denouncing college deans and professors was not enough. The Red Guards needed a bigger target to send the shockwave to the rest of the nation.

Selecting the Ultimate Target

For the target of their cultural revolution, the Red Guards chose Confucius (551–479 BC), who had been worshiped as a great teacher and philosopher for establishing the system of morality and proper conduct that dominated China for more than 2,000 years and for generations was regarded as the ultimate embodiment of Chinese culture.

In November 1966, Tan Houlan, founder of the Red Guard faction at the elitist Peking University, led 200 Red Guards to Qufu, Shandong province, the home of the Confucius temple where Confucius’s family cemetery and historical living quarter resides. The local Communist Party forced the town to hire 300 local workers, who were paid 50 cents a day to assist the Red Guards for the planned destruction.

It’s no surprise that this mass destruction was led by those well-educated. As American author Cynthia Ozick wrote“Stupid mobs are spurred by clever goaders: The book burners were inspired by the temperamentally bookish — who else could know which books to burn?” Of course, the well-educated also like to think too highly of themselves to do the dirty work.

On November 15, after a massive rally called “Annihilate the Kong Family Business” transpired, the destruction began. The Confucius statue was toppled and later paraded around the village to be vilified. The Red Guards further directed the villagers to pull stone stelae and commemorative arches positioned along the spirit way leading to Confucius’s tomb.

Relics that could be burned were thrown into bonfires, including the plaque bearing inscription gifted to Confucius from Qing Emperor Kangxi, which read “Teacher of Ten-thousand Generations.” Relics that couldn’t be burned were smashed into pieces. Unfortunately, the destruction didn’t stop there.

From the beginning, the Red Guards wanted to destroy all the tombs inside the Confucius family cemetery. However, they were told by locals that the cemetery was massive, and contained 70 tombs of Confucius and his direct descendants as well as more 2,000 clan members, which would take up to months to dig up.

To save time, the Red Guards decided to dig up the first three generations. The targets became Confucius, his sons, and grandsons, as well as the last three generations of Confucius’s direct lineage: Kong Lingyi, his father, and grandfather. By doing so, the Red Guards could declare that they had destroyed Confucius’s family “from the beginning to the end.”

According to a report, “on the first day the grave was flattened, on the second day a three-meter deep trench was dug, but by the third day, the rebels had run out of patience so they used dynamite to blow up the site. The grave was effectively obliterated.” Valuable objects buried with the corpses, such as gold and jewelry, were looted; the Red Guards and the proletariats had no objections in keeping treasures for themselves. Corpses were mutilated and displayed for days before they were thrown into a ditch and burned.

The final tally of the damage consisted of 100,000 volumes of classical texts, of which 1,700 rare items were burned, as well as the destruction or vandalism of some 6,618 cultural artifacts. One thousand stelae were smashed. The Red Guards’ destruction inspired a tomb-digging frenzy. In the months that followed, more than 2,000 tombs in the Confucius family cemetery were looted.

A Parallel and A Warning

The destruction of Confucius’s temples and family cemetery in the early days of the Cultural Revolution was meant to send the message to the rest of the country. If someone who had been revered for thousands of years, one of the ultimate symbols of China and her culture, could be humiliated and destroyed in such a way, nothing and no one else would be safe.

In retrospect, that November marked the beginning of the darkest decade in China’s history, during which many more places would be destroyed, many more books burned, and many more families torn apart after children denounced their parents and spouses denounced each other in a desperate attempt to survive by demonstrating “ideological purity.” An estimated two million Chinese were either executed or driven to suicide as a result. Millions more suffered malnutrition due to famine fueled by a broken economy. Only later would people finally come to realize that the Cultural Revolution not only destroyed the culture but also ruined the country.

History may not repeat itself exactly the same way, but it does rhyme. The destruction we’re witnessing in America today is beginning to resemble 1966 China more every day. Washington’s statue was toppled not simply because of his personal failings for being a slave owner. Washington represents the ultimate symbol of the United States of America in a similar way Confucius was for China.

By pulling down his statue, the mob wants to send a message: they reject all founders of the United States and denounce the founding principles that this nation was built upon. If Washington can be condemned and humiliated in this way and what he stood for can be rejected with no resistance, no one else in this country is safe.

Just like Mao and his Red Guards, today’s mob is hungry for power. They seek the power to rule over us, and the power to impose a rigid conformity so the rest of us can only think and behave in the ways they alone approve. Ultimately, the annihilation we’re witnessing is a manifestation of their unwavering desire for this power.

The dismantling of Washington’s statue — and the dismantling of all historical statues — won’t stop the mob. More obliterations will come. Each destructive act that is left unchallenged will embolden the mob further.

Annihilation comes in many shapes and forms beyond the demolition of physical objects. More people who refuse to conform to the mob’s demand will lose their jobs and see their lives be ruined. The mob won’t stop until they destroy everything we hold dear and attain complete power over us.

Knowing this is where our nation is heading, one question we need to urgently ask ourselves right now is: am I going to sit back and hope the destruction will spare me (reality check: no one will be spared), or am I going to step forward and say “no” to the mob?

Banks Could Be Sending An Ominous Warning to Investors, Says Joe Friday — Kimble Charting Solutions

When the economy is humming along, the stock market tends to out-perform. And one sign of a strong economy is a healthy banking sector.

On the flip side, when the economy is struggling, the banking sector lags. And this is a drag on the broader stock market.

Today’s chart has Joe Friday concerned that the latter scenario may be playing out… and another bear market may be lurking.

As you can see, the Bank Index to S&P 500 ratio has been an important indicator for stocks. In both 2000 and 2007, bank stocks underperformed for nearly 2 years before taking the broader stock market lower. This divergence can be seen at each point (1) on today’s chart.

Note that each of these divergences eventually lead to a major bear market.

The same (or worse!) divergence is rearing its head today at (2). Over the past 30 months, the Bank Index has grossly underperformed the S&P 500. Will this ominous warning bring a second wave of selling in 2020?

If past is prologue, investors should be careful here. Stay tuned.

It’s not just the protesters tearing down statues and erasing American history. New York City officials are planning to remove the bronze statue of Teddy Roosevelt from outside the Museum of Natural History. The statue has stood there in the Theodore Roosevelt Rotunda facing Central Park since before the Second World War.

To score points with the mob, House Speaker, Nancy Pelosi gave orders to remove from the walls of the U.S. Capitol building four portraits of former House Speakers who served in the Confederacy. Andy Woods responded:

“ The deliberate erasure of history is a Stalinist, Maoist tactic for purposes of destroying one civilization so that they can bring in their “higher” social order (Communism, Marxism, statism). Beyond that, if you want to get rid of all vestiges of racism in the history of the United States, you would also have to also get rid of the Democratic party itself, which is the party of the Jim Crow South, the KKK, and Robert Byrd.”

Virginia Charging Huge Fines For Churches, Ministries For Their Beliefs — Christian Research Network

(John Harding – My Christian Daily)  On July 1, churches, Christian schools, and other religious ministries with theologically orthodox views on marriage will no longer be welcome in Virginia.

And if you are among those operating a ministry in accordance with your religious beliefs about marriage and human sexuality, the state has declared a sort-of legal “open season” on you. The first offense comes with a fine of up to $50,000. Subsequent offenses come with fines of up to $100,000!

The message is clear: Virginia will crush you if you disobey.

We have history’s greatest sermons at our fingertips. I have recently discovered a new edifying podcast called Revived Thoughts. I was able to connect with Troy Frasier, one of the men who produce the content, and I asked him if he would be willing to write a guest post to let us know what Revived Thoughts is all about, and he graciously agreed.

Most people serious about their faith are familiar with some of the great theologians of the past. It’s not uncommon to hear a quote by Charles Spurgeon dropped in a sermon. Only 39 Percent of Americans Believe ‘Life Is Sacred,’ Barna Finds — Blogs

Six out of 10 Americans disagree with the statement that “human life is sacred,” according to a new survey.

Barna Group surveyed about 2,000 people and asked about feelings on human life. “Sacred” was defined as “having unconditional, intrinsic worth.”

Of the 2,000 people, only 39 percent said they agreed with the claim that “human life is sacred.”

“A substantially larger share of the population combined to offer views such as ‘life is what you make it, but it has no absolute value’ (37 percent); ‘life does not attain its full value until we reach our highest point of evolution and expression’ (11 percent); or other, less popular points of view that concurred that life has no infinite, unconditional value,” the report said.

Of those who said they were evangelical and born-again Christians, 60 percent agreed with the statement. Of those who identified as Pentecostals, that number was 46 percent and 43 percent of Roman Catholics surveyed.

Most (69 percent) said that people are “basically good.” More than 30 years ago, the Barna survey showed that 83 percent of people believed people were “basically good.”

Dr. George Barna, the founder of Barna Group, said the survey’s findings are impacted by demonstrations happening across the U.S.

“A movement to defund police departments might make sense if people are innately good,” he explained. “People with a humanistic worldview argue that crime and violence happen because of poverty, bad parenting, systemic discrimination, and other external forces. Yet crime statistics, political tensions, tendencies toward anger and hatred, and America’s moral deterioration and confusion suggest that we are neither innately good nor that emotional responses to empirical challenges will solve the problems.”

“The underlying issues are ill-formed character and a broken moral compass,” Barna continued. “Economic, social and cultural depravity are outgrowths of our moral and character deficiencies, not causes.”

In other findings, the survey showed:

  • 12 percent believe that people are “material substance – biological machines.”
  • 12 percent believe that people are “part of the mind of the universe.”
  • Other responses said humans are “an illusion, do not exist or are sleeping gods, part of the soul of the universe.”

June 26 Life-Changing Moments With God


“Oh, that You would bless me indeed,… and that You would keep me from evil.” … So God granted him what he requested.

Your blessing, Lord, makes me rich, and You add no sorrow with it. When You give quietness, who then can make trouble? And when You hide Your face, who then can see You?

Salvation belongs to You, Lord God. Your blessing is upon Your people. How great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have prepared for those who trust in You in the presence of the sons of men! Jesus did not pray that You should take me out of the world, but that You should keep me from the evil one.

I ask, and it will be given to me; I seek, and I will find; I knock, and it will be opened to me. For everyone who asks receives, and seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. You, Lord, redeem the soul of Your servants, and if I trust in You I shall not be condemned.

I praise You for Your immeasurable goodness, Lord!

May I always trust in You who are faithful and kind,

all-wise, all-powerful, and all-loving.
