He has prepared a city for them.
Lord Jesus, You, have gone to prepare a place for me, and will come again and receive me to Yourself; that where You are, there I may be also. An inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away is reserved in heaven for me. Here I have no continuing city, but I seek the one to come.
Jesus, You were taken up from earth into heaven, and You will so come in like manner as the apostles saw You go into heaven. Therefore I will be patient until Your coming. The farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. I also will be patient. I will establish my heart, for Your coming, my Lord, is at hand. Yet a little while, and You who are coming will come and will not tarry.
Those who are alive and remain shall be caught up together in the clouds with the dead in Christ, to meet You, Lord Jesus, in the air. And thus I shall always be with You, Lord. We comfort one another with these words.
Thank You, Jesus, for preparing an eternal home in Your glorious presence.
