August 21 Transformation Power

1 Timothy 1:13

I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I obtained mercy.

The great glory of the story of the apostle Paul is knowing what he had been before seeing what he became. The greatest enemy of the Lord Jesus Christ in the first century became His greatest servant, most trusted apostle, and a faithful friend. The same hand that wrote out indictments of heresy against the early church was the hand that wrote the letters upon which the early church was based and ultimately spread. The heart that rejoiced when Stephen was stoned to death became a heart that rejoiced at the privilege of suffering for Christ’s sake. The noble statements of theology in Romans, the sweet lyrics of Christian love in 1 Corinthians 13, and the desire to reach the regions beyond with the gospel all came from the former persecutor of Christ and His church.

If ever there was any evidence of the transforming power of the gospel, it is seen in the life of Saul the persecutor who became Paul the apostle. Hopefully that same gospel has transformed you as well. If so, like Paul, may you ask the Lord today, “What do You want me to do?”[1]

August 21st The D. L. Moody Year Book

They brought young children to Him, that He should touch them: and His disciples rebuked those that brought them.—Mark 10:13.

I HAVE no sympathy with the idea that our children have to grow up before they are converted. Once I saw a lady with three daughters at her side, and I stepped up to her and asked her if she was a Christian.

“Yes, sir.”

Then I asked the oldest daughter if she was a Christian. Her chin began to quiver, and the tears came into her eyes, and she said:

“I wish I was.”

The mother looked very angrily at me and said, “I don’t want you to speak to my children on that subject. They don’t understand.” And in great rage she took them away from me. One daughter was fourteen years old, one twelve, and the other ten, but they were not old enough to be talked to about religion! Let them drift into the world and plunge into worldly amusements, and then see how hard it is to reach them. Many a mother is mourning to-day because her boy has gone beyond her reach. In those early days when his mind was tender and young, she might have led him to Christ.[1]

August 21, 2020 Evening Verse Of The Day

  1. Blessed be Jehovah God! the God of Israel. David, after having prayed for prosperity to his successors, breaks forth in praising God, because he was assured by the divine oracle that his prayers would not be in vain. Had he not with the eyes of faith beheld those things which we have seen above, his rejoicing would have been less free and lively. When he says that God alone doeth wonderful things, this, no doubt, is spoken in reference to the subject of which he is presently treating, with the view not only of commending the excellence of the kingdom, but also to admonish himself and others of the need which there is that God should display his wonderful and stupendous power for its preservation. And certainly it was not owing to any of David’s successors, a few excepted, that the royal throne did not fall a hundred times, yea, was not even completely ruined. To go no farther, was not Solomon’s most disgraceful apostacy deserving of utter destruction? And as to the rest of his successors, with the exception of Josias, Hezekiah, Jehoshaphat, and a few others, did they not fall from evil to worse, as if each strove to outstrip his predecessor, and thus so provoked the wrath of God, as it were deliberately, that it is wonderful that he did not immediately launch the thunderbolts of his vengeance upon the whole race utterly to destroy them? Moreover, as David, being endued with the Spirit of prophecy, was not ignorant that Satan would always continue to be a cruel enemy of the Church’s welfare, he doubtless knew that the grace of God, of which he presently speaks, would have great and arduous difficulties to overcome in order to continue for ever in his own nation. And the event afterwards unquestionably showed by how many miracles God accomplished his promises, whether we consider the return of his people from the captivity of Babylon, or the astonishing deliverances which followed until Christ as a tender branch sprung out of a dead tree. David, therefore, with good reason prays that the glory of the divine name may fill the whole earth, since that kingdom was to be extended even to the uttermost boundaries of the globe. And that all the godly, with earnest and ardent affection of heart, may unite with him in the same prayers, there is added a confirmation in the words, Amen, and Amen.[1]

August—21 The Poor Man’s Evening Portion

And it came to pass as they were eating of the pottage, that they cried out and said, O thou man of God, there is death in the pot.—2 Kings 4:40.

It was at a time of great famine, that the prophet Elisha ministered among the sons of the prophet at Gilgal; no wonder, therefore, that their diet was reduced to a dinner of herbs. During the season of persecution in our kingdom, somewhat more than a century and a half since, there was a spiritual famine, not of bread or of water, but of hearing the word of the Lord; and so precious was the word of the Lord in those days, that our good old fathers used to remark, “bread and water, with the gospel, was choice fare.” We find, in the household of Elisha, that wild gourds, by the ignorance of him that gathered the herbs, were served up in the pottage of the people, which, as soon as they were discovered, occasioned the cry to the prophet, “O thou man of God, there is death in the pot.” And is there not death in the pot when any matters of a poisonous quality are mingled and served up to God’s people with the word of his grace? Surely, the springs of all spiritual food and life are in Jesus, his blood, his righteousness, his finished salvation, the graces of his Holy Spirit, and the rest and dependence upon God the Father’s covenant, love, and mercy in him; these are the only food of the soul, by which it can be nourished. To drop these rich and savoury truths, whereby the soul is kept alive to God, and brought nigh to God in Christ; or, what is the same thing, to mingle, like the wild gourds of the field, the righteousness of the creature, as made partly the means of salvation, with this only wholesome food of the soul; may surely cause the believing soul to cry out, “O thou man of God, there is death in the pot!” I charge it upon thee, my soul, this evening, in the view of this scripture, concerning the sons of the prophets, that thou take heed to receive not mingled things for the good old fare of the gospel. The smallest introduction to error is as one that letteth out water. Where the person of Jesus, his work and glory, are neglected to be set forth, there will be death in the pot, whatever else be substituted in the place. A real believer cannot live in his soul’s health a day, no more than a labouring man in his body, where the food suited to each is not given. And it surely were a pity, when there is such an infinite fulness in Christ, to substitute any thing for him. See to it then, my soul, that all thy food be Jesus, and let “all thy fresh springs be in him.” Remember the promise, for in the saddest times of dearth, if Jesus be looked to, it never can fail. “They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house, and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures: for with thee is the fountain of life.” (Psalm 36:8, 9.)[1]

August 21 Life-Changing Moments With God

You are my portion, O Lord.

Lord, in Christ all things are mine. I am Christ’s, and Christ is Yours. My Savior Jesus Christ gave Himself for me. You gave Christ to be head over all things to the church. Christ loved the church and gave Himself for me, that He might present me to Himself, a part of the glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that I should be holy and without blemish.

My soul shall make its boast in You, Lord God. I will greatly rejoice in You, my soul shall be joyful in You, my God; for You have clothed me with the garments of salvation, You have covered me with the robe of righteousness.

Whom have I in heaven but You, Lord God? There is none upon earth that I desire besides You. My flesh and my heart fail; but You are the strength of my heart and my portion forever. My soul has said, “You are my Lord.” You are the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot. The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good inheritance.

Lord, I have an amazing inheritance in You.

All praise to You!

Gingrich: 3 reasons Biden-Harris ticket will ‘collapse’ before Election Day | WND

Is your memory long enough (or are you enough of a political geek) to remember Sen. Thomas Eagleton? If not, he was easily the least successful choice of running mate in major party history, given that he didn’t last an entire month on the ticket.

Eagleton, a Missouri Democrat, was selected by George McGovern — the unlikely winner of the 1972 Democratic nomination — after an extensive search to find anyone willing to associate with the far-left South Dakota senator’s doomed campaign.

There was some great irony in the selection, in that Eagleton was the source of an off-the-record quote about McGovern that would haunt McGovern’s legacy long after the campaign was over. (“McGovern is for amnesty, abortion and legalization of pot,” Eagleton told columnist Robert Novak, adding that when “middle America — Catholic middle America, in particular” finds that out, “he’s dead.”)

But wait, it gets worse! Eagleton didn’t disclose to the McGovern campaign that he had been treated with electroshock therapy for “nervous exhaustion,” as The New York Times noted in his obituary. After 18 days and consultations with Eagleton’s doctors, McGovern forced Eagleton to withdraw.

The controversy wrecked an already ill-starred campaign and left a flailing McGovern desperate for anyone to run on the ticket with him. (He would eventually pick Sargent Shriver, former ambassador to France and first director of the Peace Corps, whose major qualification was being related to the Kennedys by marriage.)

I mention that because former House Speaker Newt Gingrich thinks that the Joe Biden-Kamala Harris ticket will quickly “move into the 1972 George McGovern range of isolation from the American people.”

In an Op-Ed for Fox News, Gingrich noted that this time, it’s the man at the top of the ticket who many Americans believe is showing potential unfitness — and his second-in-command is the unpalatable “radical” (or at least, someone who embraces radical positions when it suits her).

“Biden-Harris ticket will collapse between now and election due to these 3 factors,” the headline of Gingrich’s piece read.

The first has to do with questions over Biden’s cognitive and physical health.

“I received an email from the Biden-Harris headquarters which showed a gif of Biden and Harris coming out of a doorway. Both were looking down or away and not interacting with anyone (including each other),” Gingrich wrote in the piece published Wednesday.

“The email asked, ‘Have you ever seen two people who look this ready to lead on Day 1?’ I was flummoxed. They didn’t look ready to do anything.

“The question was a parody of their problem, and the image was embarrassing. I was astounded because the material had been made by the Biden campaign which had total control of the product. Biden does not look like he is ready to lead. He is looking down like he wants to make sure he doesn’t fall down.”

Gingrich cited a Rasmussen Reports survey which found 38 percent of likely voters thought Biden was experiencing cognitive decline and another poll of likely voters by Rasmussen which found 59 percent thought Biden’s veep choice would become president during his first term, were he to be elected.

“That included 49% of Democrats, 57% of independents, and 73% of Republicans,” Gingrich wrote.

“When nearly six out of every ten Americans think you are not likely to finish a four-year term, it is hardly an endorsement of your fitness. The more Biden has to campaign and actually appear in uncontrolled environments, the bigger this problem will become.”

Then there’s the second problem — whether or not Americans are willing to embrace Kamala Harris.

“Harris will prove to be the most disastrous vice presidential nominee since Sen. Tom Eagleton, D-Mo., had to resign from the McGovern ticket when it turned out he had been subjected to shock therapy treatments for mental issues (I am not criticizing mental illness or its treatment, but in 1972, Americans simply did not want to think of a potential president having mental illness),” Gingrich wrote.

“As a presidential candidate, Harris had wavered between embracing the most radical positions and then opportunistically changing to more moderate positions when she got blowback,” he added. “She was as unreliable in her policy positions as she was in her attacks on Biden. She aggressively attacked Biden on four different occasions and has since repudiated her own words. If Biden is exhausted and hiding in a basement, his running mate is energetically bouncing all over the place with no consistency or reliability.”

Also, if Democrats thought Harris was going to energize black voters, they should think again.

“Democrats (and propaganda media) believe that she will be powerful in attracting the African American vote,” Gingrch wrote

“This is undermined by the objective reality that in November 2019, after months of campaigning, a Quinnipiac University poll showed Harris was fourth in attracting Black voters. Biden had 44%, Sanders had 10%, Warren had 8%, and Harris was down to 6% of the Black vote. When Biden was drawing nearly eight Black votes for every vote Harris was getting, so why would the Democrats think adding her to the ticket was a smart idea.”

Finally, Gingrich said, voters will become alienated with the ticket once “the depth of radicalism of the Biden-Harris platform and the Chuck Schumer-Nancy Pelosi legislative agenda become clear to the American people.”

“Importantly, the real danger to the Democratic ticket is not the general allegation that Biden-Harris is a radical ticket. The real danger to the Democrats is the item-by-item alienation of different groups of Americans based on adopting positions that please radicals but are deeply opposed by most Americans,” he continued.

These items included a push by Democrats to force suburbs to accommodate low-cost housing, their commitment to use taxpayer money to pay for abortions through the ninth month, their support for giving COVID-19 relief funds to illegal immigrants, Biden’s promise to pursue Beto O’Rourke’s gun control plans, calls to defund the police and the Democrats’ deference to the teachers unions on the issue of reopening schools.

“The list goes on, but these first six radical, alienating ideas give you some notion of how rapidly the support for Biden and Harris may fade,” Gingrich wrote.

“The propaganda media has done (and will likely continue to do) all it can to protect Biden in the basement. He has quietly slipped further and further to the left under their protective non-coverage.”

Gingrich also talked his theory on the Fox News morning program “Fox & Friends.”

So, is Kamala Harris the new Thomas Eagleton? It’s worth noting, again, that the roles are reversed.

This time, it’s Biden who seems unsteady and unfit. Meanwhile, Harris is the potential radical — particularly since she seems aligned with the younger wing of the party, which is more willing to embrace left-wing ideas outside the American mainstream.

Either way, the contrast between President Donald Trump and Joe Biden couldn’t have been made more clear by the convention and the fact that the Democratic standard-bearer now has to come out of the basement.

Will the ghost of Thomas Eagleton haunt the campaign? It’s exceptionally unlikely that Biden will be searching around for his own Sargent Shriver.

On the other hand, that means he’s stuck with Harris — and that could make Shriver look pretty good. Stay tuned.

Hollywood Elites Rush To Normalize Pedophilia Before They’re All Outed By Ghislaine Maxwell — The Babylon Bee

U.S.—With Epstein’s infamous assistant Ghislaine Maxwell awaiting trial and testimony in prison, many celebrities, politicians, and entertainment industry elites are rushing to make pedophilia generally acceptable before they’re outed as patrons of Epstein’s notorious island.

“I’m not going to lie, this is going to be an uphill climb,” said actor and director Rudy Allan, “but it’s absolutely necessary in order to prevent the entire world from seeing us as depraved perverts. Well, actually, I guess we don’t mind that so much as we just want depravity and perversion to be considered completely valid sexual orientations. I mean, we’re pretty much there already, just have to check off one last box.”

According to Allan, the movement is gaining unprecedented cooperation from across industries and international political positions. From an unnamed prince in a small country off the coast of France, to fashion industry moguls, to famous musicians and actors, the push to make pedophilia mainstream is gaining traction.

“The gay rights movement took 30-40 years, but the transgender movement really only took about 5-10 years,” said a hopeful former US President from Arkansas who preferred to remain anonymous. “At that rate, we should be able to make this thing happen by the end of the year!”

“Honestly, the timing couldn’t be better,” says Oscar-winning actor Kelvin Smacey. “If this whole Epstein Island thing had come out before we had fully integrated things like transgender children and Drag Queen Story Hour into mainstream values, we’d be totally doomed. Nowadays, we’ve got so many letters crammed into the whole ‘LGBTQETC+’ thing, nobody even notices if we slide a ‘P’ in there somewhere!”

In addition to those subtle changes, the ramp-up includes bolder strategies, such as a California proposal that will make it okay for 22-year-olds to have relations with 13-year-olds, a new streaming series about an 11-year-old girl defying her family’s outdated traditions by dancing sensually, or simply tweeting pro-pedo slogans like “love has no age” from popular drag queen associations.

While the momentum has recently increased, Allan says they’ve been laying down the groundwork for decades.

“I mean, we’ve got award-winning movies and shows featuring minors in sexual situations,” Allan says. “We’ve got drag shows for toddlers, school curriculum developed to get children thinking about exploring their sexuality really early on, and clothing lines designed to show off their bodies. We’ve implemented various strategies to reduce parental influence and protection over their children by weakening the family structure and encouraging promiscuity. And that’s not even mentioning abortion. Like, once you’re okay with casually slaughtering babies by the millions, how is anyone going to take issue with objectifying kids?”

According to Allan, next steps include Kidnapper Story Hour at the library, human sacrifices at public schools, a competitive reality TV series called Six-Year-Old Strippers, and outlawing millstones within 40 miles of any large body of water.

Angry Joe Biden slammed his hands on the lectern and ripped into President Trump during his Dem convention speech.

Biden looked like an angry, tired old politician screaming about the same old problems while making the same empty promises.

But the fact that Biden showed up with a pulse and didn’t make any monumental gaffes while reading from a teleprompter is good enough for the Democrats. Pathetic.

STATEMENT: The Conservative Baptist Network strongly supports John MacArthur’s stand for religious liberty — Conservative Baptist Network

Friday, August 21, 2020

The Conservative Baptist Network strongly affirms and applauds Dr. John MacArthur’s courageous stand for religious liberty against the grossly unconstitutional actions against him, Grace Community Church, and other churches by Los Angeles County and the State of California.

While individual local churches have every right to differ on the wisdom of meeting during the COVID-19 pandemic, we find no “we’re afraid” exception in the First Amendment. The Free Exercise and Freedom of Assembly Clauses are the bedrock of American liberty, and are granted by God, not the State. And if the State may infringe them indefinitely in the name of “emergency,” the State need not observe them at all.

Moreover, in this specific case, the government is clearly singling out churches for this persecution, while exempting gatherings advocating speech it supports. This is the very definition of tyranny, and further renders the State’s actions unconstitutional.

The Conservative Baptist Network affirms America’s Constitutional protection of religious liberty, as well as The Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Convention, which states in Article XVII on “Religious Liberty,” that, “The state owes to every church protection and full freedom in the pursuit of its spiritual ends.”

We wish to express our deep appreciation for the ministry of Dr. MacArthur. His sermons, conferences, and writings have been a blessing to the body of Christ for decades. Dr. MacArthur’s unwavering commitment to the sufficiency and authority of Scripture is an example to believers around the world and is at the heart of the mission of our network.

But now, Dr. MacArthur and his church are willingly, intentionally risking bankruptcy and imprisonment for their faith. We pray that we too would have such courage and willingness to stand in the face of persecution. They are examples to us all.

We call upon the members of our Network and all believers everywhere to join us in speaking out against this tyranny, and in prayer and support for Dr. MacArthur and Grace Community Church as they prepare for the upcoming legal battle, currently scheduled for September 4th. We further call for similar prayer and support for all other churches facing similar persecution, and such direct action as may be required “for such a time as this.”

‘Principled Conservatives’ Endorsing The Most Progressive Ticket In Recent Memory Have No Principles — The Federalist

Republicans endorsing the most progressive platform of any Democratic ticket in recent memory seem to be of the ‘Orange Man Bad’ ideology.

‘Principled Conservatives’ Endorsing The Most Progressive Ticket In Recent Memory Have No Principles

Democrats paraded the high-profile endorsements of prominent Republicans this week at their online convention, featuring pointless performances from former Ohio Gov. John Kasich and former Secretary of State Colin Powell speaking in support for the Democratic ticket.

“America is at a crossroads,” Kasich said while standing at a literal crossroads from his home Columbus suburb of Westerville. “I’m proud of my Republican heritage. It’s the party of Lincoln, who reflected its founding principles of unity and a higher purpose. But what I have witnessed these past four years belies those principles.”

One has to wonder then, what Kasich witnessed that could undermine President Donald Trump’s credibility as one of the most conservative presidents in the last 30 years. Just in his first term, Trump has set new standards for pro-life administrations, passed monumental tax cuts, confirmed more then 200 constitutionalist judges and signed a landmark criminal justice reform bill giving Trump a more credible record on the justice system than either former Vice President Joe Biden and California Sen. Kamala Harris.

Kasich’s indictment of Trump’s supposed abandonment of conservative principles then, speaks more of the failed 2016 presidential candidate’s own allegiance to NeverTrumpism than it does Trump’s adherence to them in the White House. The former primary rival’s criticism appears to be cut from the same “Orange Man Bad” ideology that provoked the media to condemn Trump’s patriotic speech at the base of Mount Rushmore honoring civil rights heroes as “dark and divisive.”

Former New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie offered no anguish over Kasich’s pointless stand.

“Republicans are going to look at that and go, ‘You can have him. Please, believe me, give us a break. Get him out of our party. You can take him for awhile,” Christie said on ABC following Kasich’s remarks. “I’ve worked with John a lot. He’s exhausting.”

Powell meanwhile, who hasn’t endorsed a Republican for president since George W. Bush in 2004 and has revoked his endorsement from seemingly every item on the party platform, still somehow convinces networks to identify him as a Republican while campaigning for Democrats. The former secretary of state joined the small group of ex-Republicans speaking at the DNC and offered his brief testimony Tuesday.

“Joe Biden will be a president we will all be proud to salute,” Powell said.

Former New York Republican Congresswoman Susan Molinari also addressed the convention with California billionaire Meg Whitman claiming to support Biden on principle. The Biden-Harris platform however, offers no values principled Republicans should be comfortable claiming.

Republicans merely opposing Trump in November ought not to deserve the same condemnation as those publicly campaigning for Biden, who promises to serve as a vehicle for the left’s 21st century woke revolution. An unfortunate symptom of the two-party system includes a tendency to lock voters into a divisive binary that categorizes individuals as either completely committed or completely averse to the two major party candidates before them with no nuance.

However, when Republicans claiming to cling to conservative principles flock to support the most radical Democratic ticket in recent memory, where no such principles exist, the absence of the very values those Republicans hold dear are exposed as nothing more than a dedication to execute personal self-promotion.

Running on a $10 trillion platform and putting Harris on the ticket illustrates Biden’s willingness to be pressured by the left-wing forces engulfing the Democratic Party. Despite legacy media’s endless promotion of the progressive pair as “pragmatic moderates,” Harris has the second most liberal voting record in the Senate, even left of Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders. Harris has previously endorsed Medicare for All, the Green New Deal, higher taxes, open borders, sanctuary cities, tax-payer funded health care for illegal immigrants, late-term abortion and a religious litmus test for Catholic nominations to the federal judiciary. There’s nothing conservative about that platform, which would likely take over the administration even if Biden claims to call the shots.

Kasich tried to appease moderate concerns Monday night by voicing his faith that Biden will refrain from turning “sharp left,” even though Biden already has.

After unveiling the 110-page “Unity Task Forces” agreement which promises to waste no crisis to “rewrite the economy” and achieve “environmental justice” with Sanders, the Vermont socialist heralded Biden if elected, as “the most progressive president since FDR.”

Sanders even spoke right after Kasich at the convention pledging Biden will serve as a conduit to promoting the progressive agenda.

“To everyone who supported other candidates in the primary and to those who may have voted for Donald Trump in the last election: The future of our democracy is at stake,” Sanders warned. “The future of our economy is at stake. The future of our planet it at stake. We must come together, defeat Donald Trump and elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as our next president and vice president.”

Fact-checking the Democrats ‘Empathy’ | Townhall

Source: AP Photo/Chris Carlson

After four nights of their virtual convention that deceptively used the state of Wisconsin in their logo even though candidates Joe Biden and Kamala Harris didn’t deign to set one foot in the Badger State, it’s clear that Democratic strategists decided that “Empathy” was to be the word of the day, every day, every hour and every minute of every cliched bromide uttered by every speaker presented to the American people.

Empathy.

They all talked about it.

“Empathy” must have been market-tested, polled, and sampled to undecided voters to determine what message would hit hardest against Trump and in favor of the Dems.

We are to believe that Donald Trump lacks empathy for the American people. We are to believe that Republicans and their mean-spirited, free market, capitalist policies leave the American people feeling that the party of Lincoln doesn’t care about them or their needs or their feelings.

It’s like the inverse of Ben Shapiro’s catchphrase embodied in the entire raison d’etre of Biden’s candidacy.

If you’re to believe the Democrats overwhelming “Empathy” messaging this week, caring about your feelings is really the only value that is paramount for presidential leadership, and neither facts nor policies really matter.

“We care about you. Joe cares about you. Vote for us.”

Empathy.

It’s a compelling argument if it’s left unchallenged. And, sadly, Republicans in elected office probably have no idea how to respond to it other than some lame attempt like, “Oh, we care about you too! Here, let me show you how much money we want to spend on a big government program to prove it to you!!!”

That’s not how you do it, pals. Please don’t go there.

No, how about we reject the premise of their entire argument.

Joe Biden has empathy?

Joe Biden?

Ask the family of Robert Bork how much empathy he has.

As I wrote here at Townhall earlier this year:

Joe Biden was the leader of the Bork inquisition. He is responsible for it and every other atrocious display of character assassination disguised as “advice and consent” ever since.

Before Bork, nominees for the Supreme Court, or any job on the federal bench, or for any cabinet position for that matter, were valued and respected if they had a long paper trail of decisions and experience and a documented track record of achievement. Because of Biden’s behavior as Chairman of the Judiciary Committee overseeing the Bork confirmation, experience, track record and achievement is no longer valued, it is avoided.

Biden and his inquisitors ruthlessly combed through every line of Bork’s writings and twisted his words to distort his views and his life’s work. They bullied him at the hearings and treated him with contempt. Biden led the way.

Do you want to know who invented the modern age of “the politics of personal destruction”? Just look at Joe Biden, my friend.

He also ran the three-ring circus that attempted to destroy the character of Clarence Thomas. Biden stopped at nothing and stooped to the lowest of the low to slime this fine man in a desperate effort to keep him off the Supreme Court so Joe Biden’s big-money donors could continue to legally kill babies before they are born.

Empathy? From Joe Biden? How empathetic was he to Clarence Thomas and his family?

Even more outrageous, for four nights, Democrat after Democrat intruded into our living rooms, telling us how they corner the market on empathy and they all neglected to mention one major tragedy inflicting innocent Americans on a daily basis as we speak.

They let their hearts bleed with tender compassion for every possible protected class in this country in every market-tested speech, but they completely ignored a group of Americans who have been unjustly harmed, impoverished, persecuted, injured, and even killed.

It could have been so easy for them. Just one mention. One statement. But none of them could do it.

You want to show us how much empathy you have, Joe Biden? Kamala Harris? Barack Obama? Michelle Obama?

Want to prove how much empathy you have Democrats? How about one speech. One phrase… one lousy mention on behalf of the innocent Americans who have been victimized by the riots, arson, looting, and violent mayhem on a nightly basis in American cities for the past several months?

They had plenty to say about the protesters who are creating the welcome environment for this mayhem, but not one word on behalf of the innocent Americans (many of them minorities and immigrants) who are now suffering at the hands of those very protesters.

Empathy?

They don’t even know what it means. They don’t care about you. They care about the people they expect to vote for them and keep them in power. And they don’t even really care about them; they just pretend to care about them every four years.

The rest of us. They have no empathy for the rest of us. None at all.

For us, they have nothing but contempt. They think we’re deplorable. They always have and they still do. It’s just that sometimes, on rare occasions, they let it slip and say it out loud.

THE FOUNDATION

“Energy in the executive is a leading character in the definition of good government. It is essential to the protection of the community against foreign attacks; it is not less essential to the steady administration of the laws; to the protection of property against those irregular and high-handed combinations which sometimes interrupt the ordinary course of justice; to the security of liberty against the enterprises and assaults of ambition, of faction, and of anarchy.” —Alexander Hamilton (1788)

Joe Biden talks of ‘soul’ saving as Democrats remove ‘God’

Joe Biden said in his farewell, oops, he meant to say, acceptance speech, that he’s going to restore the “soul of America” if voters elect him this November to the Senate — oops, he meant to say, White House. Mental acuity aside, the question is: How’s he going to restore a “soul” when his fellow Democrats are busily removing God?

Franklin Graham laments Dems’ decisions to leave God out of convention | WND

Evangelist Franklin Graham

Evangelist Franklin Graham says he’s worried about America’s future if the nation, as the Democrats largely did this week,  takes God “out of government and public life.”

Some of the sessions at the Democratic National Convention removed “under God” from the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. And there was a general lack of acknowledgement of God in the speeches.

Graham, the CEO of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, wrote on Facebook:

In watching some of the Democratic National Convention on television this week, it has been interesting to see the absence of God. I don’t believe America’s finest hours will be in front of us if we take God out of government and public life. It is God who set the standards we are to live by.

It is God who said, “You shall not murder.”

It is God who said, “You shall not steal.”

It is God who said, “You shall not commit adultery.”

It is God who said, “Honor your father and your mother”

It is God who said, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

It is God who said, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”

It is God who said, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”

It is God who said, “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

It is God who said, “You shall have no other gods before Me.”

It is God who said, “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

“God created us and this earth we live on. Who do we think we are to try to rewrite the rules and run things apart from Him? Who do we think we are to try to take Him out of everything?” Graham wrote. “As Dr. Ton Evans said, ‘When One Nation Under God becomes One Nation Apart From God, expect the consequences.’ That’s true in our individual lives and for our nation.”

“Under God” was left out of the Pledge of Allegiance at least twice at the beginning of DNC public meetings.

CBN reported there was no verbal resistance to the omission of “under God” by the moderator for the DNC’s Muslim Delegates & Allies Assembly, AJ Durrani. DNC Chairman Tom Perez, Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and Muslim Rep. Rashida Tlaib. D-Mich., were among the featured speakers.

At the LGBT Caucus Meeting, DNC delegate Marisa Richmond, who identifies as transgender, paused as she omitted “under God” from her recitation. She was holding both an American flag and a gay pride flag.

CBN noted it wasn’t the first time Democrats have been criticized for eliminating God at their convention. In 2012, the DNC removed the words “God-given” from their platform.

Earlier this month, Just the News reported, President Trump charged that Joe Biden is “against God.”

“He’s going to do things that nobody ever, would ever think even possible because he’s following the radical left agenda: Take away your guns, destroy your Second Amendment, no religion, no anything, hurt the Bible, hut God. He’s against God. He’s against guns. He’s against energy, our kind of energy,” Trump said about Biden.

Courts repeatedly have rejected attempts to remove “under God” from the Pledge.

Where’s Tulsi? Outsider candidate Gabbard smeared by Clinton not even invited to Democratic convention | RT – Daily news

Where’s Tulsi? Outsider candidate Gabbard smeared by Clinton not even invited to Democratic convention

The Democratic convention featured senior never-Trump figures from the Republican Party, but Tulsi Gabbard, a primary contestant who won delegates, wasn’t invited. Was that due to her anti-war rhetoric or Hillary Clinton’s grudge?

This week’s Democratic virtual gathering to nominate the Joe Biden/Kamala Harris ticket for the November election was a triumph of party centrism over the progressive wing. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was given a whopping 90 seconds to nominate Bernie Sanders in a technical procedure, and no members of her ‘squad’ were given the stage. Instead, a parade of speakers from both parties told Americans that replacing Donald Trump with Biden was the single most important task at hand.

‘Trump should thank her’: AOC ‘endorses’ Bernie Sanders, but bends the knee to Biden

One other party outsider was noticeably absent at the convention. Tulsi Gabbard, the representative for Hawaii, was snubbed despite remaining in the primary race right until Biden’s imminent victory and winning two delegates. In those metrics, she performed better than VP nominee Harris herself. Yet Gabbard “was not invited to participate in any way”, she confirmed on Twitter.

Frankly speaking, she would have been welcomed at the convention about as gladly as evil witch Maleficent at the birthday party of Sleeping Beauty. Once considered a rising political star and given the same duty to nominate Sanders in 2016 as AOC this year, Gabbard has become a pariah in her own party over the past two years.

Apparently, the Democratic leadership would rather give a platform to someone who helped lie the country into the 2003 Iraq invasion than to a woman who calls for an end to forever wars, some commenters noted.

During the campaign, Gabbard stepped on quite a few toes. Going after Harris’s prosecutorial record was arguably the moment the California senator’s bid for presidency went sideways.

Guest of honor Pete Buttigieg, described by Biden as the future of the party, would probably not appreciate her either. After all, after he brought up her infamous trip to Syria during a debate, Gabbard gave him a lecture on the importance of talking to your adversaries.

But some believe it wasn’t her political positions, which are favored by US voters and despised by both parties, that cost Gabbard a speaking slot at the convention. Surely a politician who was widely called a secret Trump Republican and a Russian asset had no place there. And who cares that she repeatedly said she opposed the incumbent president and that her alleged connection to Moscow amounts to rumors, speculation, and unproven accusations?

The redbait smearing of Gabbard began early in her campaign. In February 2019, NBC declared her a “Russian favorite” based on the opinion of New Knowledge, the shady firm best known for fabricating a ‘Russian influence campaign’ during the 2017 Senate special election in Alabama. In October, the same attack was launched from the very top of the party establishment, as Hillary Clinton claimed the Kremlin was “grooming” Gabbard to run as a third-party candidate. Needless to say, that prediction never materialized.

So, while the Democratic establishment was preaching unity and supposedly rallying forces to fight for the soul of the nation, Gabbard was reportedly heading to Alaska to help out a small native tribe. She is not seeking reelection as a congresswoman in November.
