ABC ignores elephant in the room, asks Biden ZERO QUESTIONS about censored NY Post scoops on his son's overseas business dealings

ABC held a 90-minute town hall with Democrat presidential candidate Joe Biden without asking a single question about this week’s New York Post stories on alleged scandals involving his son’s business dealings in Ukraine and China.

Host George Stephanopoulos steered clear of the Post’s scoops, including a story Wednesday that suggested Hunter Biden peddled political influence, including providing a Ukrainian business associate access to then-Vice President Joe Biden in 2015. The Post followed up Thursday with an article claiming the younger Biden stood to make tens of millions of dollars working for a Chinese energy firm, including $10 million annually “based on introductions alone.”

The Ukraine story, in particular, contradicted Joe Biden’s previous statement that he never spoke to his son about his overseas business dealings. Biden’s campaign denied that a meeting with the Ukrainian executive took place, saying it wasn’t on the former vice president’s “official schedules,” but it didn’t refute the veracity of the emails underpinning the report.

Biden himself might have been pressed on the issue with his town hall coming up just one day after the Ukraine article surfaced, but neither Stephanopoulos nor the audience members whom ABC allowed to ask questions broached the topic. The silence followed a trend of social-media companies and mainstream media outlets suppressing the Hunter Biden reports.

Twitter not only blocked its users from linking to the news or sending it in a direct message, it even locked the accounts of the Post and people who shared the Ukraine story, such as actor James Woods and White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany. Thursday, Twitter went so far as to censor a government website. Republicans on the US House Judiciary Committee tried to work around the ban on sharing the article by posting it on their official government website and telling followers to click on their link and spread it. But when Twitter users tried to click on the link, they were met with a warning that it “may be unsafe.”

Major media outlets ignored the Post stories, and mainstream journalists cheered the moves by Twitter and Facebook, so ABC’s handling of the issue was unsurprising to those who had decried the censorship. Journalist Curtis Houck called the town hall “another example of censorship and collusion.”

Other observers saw the ignoring of the Hunter Biden issue as part of ABC’s overall kid-gloves treatment of Biden and contrasted it with the town hall that NBC hosted with President Donald Trump. “They spoke to him (Biden) like a toddler; meanwhile, Trump was attacked,” one commenter said. Another Twitter user said, “There could be a side-by-side comparison on the moderators (ABC, NBC) to really hear and see the difference of each of their tones and body language. Could be funny.”

While some observers tuned into the Biden town hall in hopes of hearing him confronted on the Post reports, others dismissed the topic. Online entertainment producer Suzanne Lindbergh called it “Russian disinfo.”Others argued that the question wasn’t relevant because Hunter Biden isn’t running for president, or that questions about Trump’s children would have been more justified.

Ingraham: Bidens family’s ‘get-rich-quick schemes’ should be disqualifying | Fox News

Democratic nominee’s relatives are ‘knee-deep in sleaze,’ Fox News host says

Hunter Biden email bombshell continues to unfold

Laura Ingraham reacts to the latest developments on ‘The Ingraham Angle’

Americans should be alarmed by the fact that the family of Democratic nominee Joe Biden appears to be “knee-deep in sleaze,” Laura Ingraham argued Thursday night.

“People like the Bidens — and the Clintons for that matter — they don’t have to take formal bribes,” explained “The Ingraham Angle” host. “There is no need for any smoking gun. They simply do everything possible while in office to help rich people and to fight off movements … that would force big business to pay higher wages.”

Ingraham added that “during the years between 2000 and 2016, a lot of middle-class folks wondered, ‘What happened to our good-paying jobs and wages? … What happened to all the prosperity we were supposed to see from allowing China into the World Trade Organization? If you look at the Bidens and the Clintons’ paydays, well, you can see where some of that money went.”

Ingraham noted that one purported email uncovered by the New York Post showed Hunter Biden demanding a Chinese oil tycoon pay $10 million for introductions with people like his father, then the vice president.

TUCKER CARLSON: NEW EMAILS REVEAL EXACTLY WHAT BURISMA WANTED FROM HUNTER BIDEN

She went on to note that while Biden has a fundraising advantage over Trump, much of the Democrat’s money is not coming from the average voter.

“Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, JPMorgan, Bank of America, CitiGroup [are giving] almost twice as much money going to Biden than it is going to Trump,” Ingraham said.

“He’s [Biden’s] always been one of the top benefactors of Wall Street’s largesse. It’s been going on for decades. But this year? Up against the populist incumbent, economic nationalist Donald Trump, the spigots of Wall Street have really opened up: Billionaires there feel very threatened by Trump because he is trying to drain the very swamp that they got so rich filling.”

That’s what fuels the opposition of the Washington establishment and the mainstream media, Ingraham concluded.

“No one in the D.C. establishment actually believes that Trump is a racist or a fascist or Russian mole. They don’t think he’s going to tear down democracy or blow up the world or destroy the Constitution. They certainly don’t think that an old hack like Biden is going to save us from COVID or anything else,” she said.

“The establishment just wants Trump and his movement out of the way so they can go back to doing what they do best: Making it easier for rich people around the world to take advantage of America’s middle class.”

Giuliani: Hunter Biden text shows half his profits go to Joe Biden | WND

A text message from an Apple computer purportedly once owned by Hunter Biden reveals the family’s system for distributing money earned through influence peddling, according to President Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani.

The message, Giuliani said Wednesday on his “Common Sense” video podcast, showed members of “the Biden crime family” were to give half of their profits to “pop,” Joe Biden.

The former New York City mayor held up a text from Hunter Biden to his daughter Naomi Biden that exposes a “distribution scheme that the Biden crime family has had for years.”

Hunter wrote, according to Giuliani: “I love you all but I don’t receive any respect, and that’s fine, I guess. Works for you, apparently. I hope you all can do what I did and pay for everything for this entire family for thirty years.”

Giuliani said Hunter Biden was handling the money so his father wouldn’t have to report it.

Hunter wrote, “It’s really hard, but don’t worry, unlike pop, I won’t make you give me half your salary.”

Other correspondence among the Biden family indicates “pop” refers to Joe Biden, Giuliani said.

WND reported in January
that five members of Joe Biden’s family “cashed in while he was vice president,” according to investigative reporter Peter Schweizer’s book “Profiles in Corruption: Abuse of Power by America’s Progressive Elite.”

See Giuliani’s “Common Sense” podcast:

The text message came from a laptop reported to the FBI by a Delaware computer repair shop owner after it had been abandoned by the owner, believed to be Hunter Biden. The New York Post reported Wednesdaythe hard drive contained an email that contradicts Joe Biden’s claim that he never discussed his son’s business deals in Ukraine and China while serving as the pointman for U.S. policy in those nations under President Obama. The Post reported Thursday another email shows that among the lucrative business deals Hunter Biden pursued in China while his father was vice president was one he said would benefit not only him but his family.

Facebook immediately restricted distribution of the Post’s initial story on Wednesday, insisting it needed time to fact-check it, and Twitter followed by blocking any links to it.

The Wilmington, Delaware, shop owner, John Paul Mac Isaac, took legal possession of the computer because it had not been claimed within 90 days. Isaac turned over the laptop to the FBI in December but kept a copy of the hard drive. After not hearing from the FBI for several months, he contacted members of Congress, who did not respond. He then, through an intermediary, contacted Giuliani’s attorney, Robert Costello.

On Thursday, Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, announced the Senate Judiciary Committee will subpeona Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg to testify about the censorship, which Republicans senators describe as interference in an election.

Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., wrote Zuckerberg on Wednesday demanding an explanation for the social media giant’s actions and to disclose whether or not the Biden campaign requested the censorship.

No Time to Panic – Founders Ministries

No Time to Panic

Three Cheers, Two Fears

A few weeks ago, at the direction of President Trump, Russ Vought, the director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), published a memo instructing executive branch agencies to cease so-called racial sensitivity training that is based on Critical Race Theory (CRT). The memo also banned training that employs the concepts of “White Privilege,” or “any other training or propaganda effort that teaches or suggests either… that the United States is an inherently racist or evil country or… that any race or ethnicity is inherently racist or evil.” Vought added that these training seek to “undercut our core values as Americans and drive division within our workforce.” Quite right. Since the release of Vought’s memo lawmakers, most notably Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) have taken notice and encouraged a full audit of relevant federal agency training programs. In an interview, Hawley wondered aloud if federal law had been violated and pledged to personally inquire into the matter. Later in September, Trump issued an expansion order that applied the same restrictions to federal contractors.

By all accounts, federal CRT-based trainings came to the attention of the Trump administration after Christopher Rufo of the Discovery Institute began reporting his findings, most notably on Tucker Carlson Tonight and in articles at the City Journal. Perhaps the most shocking amongst Rufo’s reports is the case of Sandia National Laboratories, a nuclear weapons research facility, which in recent days held a mandatory “retreat” called “White Men’s Caucus on Eliminating Racism, Sexism, and Homophobia in Organizations.” Per Rufo, only the white males at Sandia were required to attend and engage in woke rituals (e.g. admitting complicity in systemic racism, etc.). But this instance is just the tip of the iceberg. Rufo claims that a litany of federal agencies, including the Treasury Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, are performing similar trainings.

Three cheers for the President, Vought, and Rufo! This was the right thing to do. That being said, whilst the OMB memo is welcome news and a worthy recognition of Rufo’s invaluable, fearless journalism— perhaps, the only example of such in America right now— my resultant worry is twofold.

First, given the capacity for adaptability of critical social theories, the order may have been necessary but will ultimately prove insufficient. The explicit use of the buzz words (or “divisive concepts”) can be gotten around. I will return to this momentarily.

My second fear is that the denunciation of CRT by the Trump administration will backfire. Indeed, there are already signs that it has. The McCarthyism narrative, as I call it, is already taking shape both within and without the church. The emergence of this narrative is not surprising. The proponents of CRT have only become more entrenched since the OMB announcement. In some ways, this is not a bad thing. The gloves need to come off to some extent. I have already identified elsewhere what I believe is an irreconcilable divide in America’s major Evangelical denominations over this. I predict denominational split. Hopefully I am wrong.

In any case, the Red Scare is already being invoked in order to discredit well-placed concern over the influence of CRT in the federal government. Jemar Tisby, who’s new book How to Fight Racism will hit shelves in January, tweeted in response to the Trump order,

“We watched almost in slow motion over the last few years as some fundamentalist Christians turned Critical Race Theory into the latest label to libel racial justice advocates. Now we’re seeing it become a kind of “Red Scare” in the federal government.”

Ekemini Uwan, of the Truth’s Table podcast, claimed the White House memo was simply further, unequivocal evidence that we are living under a “fascist regime.” Matthew Arbo, a professor at Oklahoma Baptist University and a regular soldier of the civility brigade, opted for a combination of condescension, gaslighting, and mockery of his fellow Christians who are concerned about CRT.

Uwan’s (admittedly predictable) comment is fascinating for a few reasons. First, it shows the power over the popular imagination of convenient historical analogies that are constantly perpetuated by think pieces in leading publications. The only historical vantage point anyone seems to have is that of 1920s and 1930s Germany (i.e. the last days of the Weimar Republic or the early days of the Third Reich). Niall Ferguson has relentlesslyand rightly criticized cultural commentators (especially Andrew Sullivan) for monotonous mentions of 20th century European conflict ever since the populist backlash. In similar fashion, Tom Holland has pleaded with American’s to stop casting itself as Rome and, more importantly, to stop inserting itself into the final act of Edward Gibbon’s history of its decline.

Second, Uwan’s hot take reminds us that most of the same people who invoke the all-too-convenient analogy of 20th century Europe operate under an erroneous working definition of “fascism”— a unique historical phenomenon, under particular, preexisting political conditions and unlikely to be repeated. In reality, “fascism” is nothing more than a “political F-bomb,” as Christian Caryl aptly described it in a 2014 Foreign Policy article. Its an insult, and insults (especially political ones) do not require much historical nuance to nevertheless be effective. Eliah Bures, writing for the same publication just last November, concurred. The term is now almost completely devoid of meaning, other than the expression of distaste for whoever is on the receiving end of the accusation. Best case scenario, it functions as a loose synonym for totalitarianism. Even the more hysterical takes on the populist movements that swept across the west in 2016 were forced to admit that these did not, in fact, constitute a fascist resurgence.

And finally, Uwan’s hot take evidences the hypocrisy of the McCarthyism/Red Scare invocation. One side can appeal to horrifying historical instances of systematic mass murder, but the other cannot. This also exposes an imbalance of cultural memory in the west— a favorite subject of critical theorists. Nazism is (rightly) remembered for its atrocities, but Marxism— or more precisely, the Stalinism of Soviet Russia— is not. Marxism is simply dismissed as a scare word employed by conspiracy theorists and/or those who want to avoid awkward conversations, those who do not want to get real about their white privilege.

Feeding the gaslighting/McCarthyism deflection, mainstream media sources characterized the trainings as “sensitivity training” or “diversity education,” or “racial awareness training.” There has been a concerted effort by all but a few to avoid mention of the term “Critical Race Theory,” or even “White Fragility” and “White Privilege.” This move is by no means unique to CNN and MSNBC. A recent article at Mere Orthodoxy managed to review Ibram X. Kendi’s How To Be An Antiracist without ever mentioning “Critical Race Theory.”

Slippery Slope

The question of the presence of CRT in major institutions, from Washington D.C. to Silicon Valley, is incontrovertible. Now, especially given that its an election year, its validity and influence will become a partisan issue. Trump’s order has been cast by the media as nothing more than a pandering to his allegedly bigoted base, a dog-like obedience to Fox News talking heads, and a knee-jerk reaction to the “browning” of America. Likewise, Christian proponents of CRT’s use embrace the “pandering” narrative of Trump’s order and trot out the notorious and specious statistic that claims 81% of Evangelicals voted for the president in an attempt to substantiate the claim. For good measure, some of these “thought leaders” claim that the “obsession” with CRT by conservative Evangelicals is just the latest iteration of white obfuscation in race discussions. All that to say, the situation has only gotten more complicated in the past few weeks.

As I alluded to above, critical social theories as a class can be slippery, and this is particularly true of Critical Race Theory (CRT), by both design and function. This bodes ill for proposed White House efforts to audit federal training programs. The bestsellers like Robin DiAngelo’s White Fragility, Ibram X. Kendi’s How To Be An Antiracist, or Renni Eddo-Lodge’s Why I Am No Longer Talking to White People About Race barely, if it all (as in the case of DiAngelo) explicitly mention “Critical Race Theory.” Their indexes and bibliographies are scant, citing to only a few primary sources that would, after some digging, give you a clue as to their ideological presuppositions. But the ideas, unmistakably drawn from CRT (and Queer Theory, etc.) are there. A perusal of these books in conjunction with popular-level Christian works on the subject like David Swanson’s Rediscipling the White Churchor Daniel Hill’s White Awake evidence perfectly the truth of Peter Boghossian’s “idea laundering” thesis.

The vocabulary, framework, and concepts of CRT present (sometimes covertly) in these works have been laundered clean. There is usually two or three degrees of separation between the original source of the idea and the style in which it is presented in these contemporary treatments. The untrained eye may gloss right over them, and the authors themselves (in the Christian context) are left with plausible deniability.

This dynamic will only be compounded as the McCarthyism narrative settles in. In some ways, we have come full circle to where we were in 2019 in the days surrounding Resolution 9. In the days since, the conversation has moved from denial to justification and back to (partial) denial, if not dismissal, again.

This is why I have consistently held that whilst a threshold understanding of false ideologies presently challenging the church is necessary for pastors, their priority should be that of rooting themselves and the people under their care in true, historical, confessional, orthodox theology. They should focus on shoring up their doctrinal distinctives such that they can weather anystorm. Founders Ministries has instinctually recognized the necessity of this progression. By What Standard was the sounding of the alarm about certain dangers facing the church. The focus of Wield the Sword is shoring up doctrine in a holistic fashion such that any storm can be withstood.

All Not So Quiet on the Western Front

For those of us who have worked to raise awareness about critical theories, the easy part is ending abruptly. We now face a war on two fronts. As history shows us— I am resisting a mid-20th century Europe analogy here— this is a precarious position to be in.

First, we must continue to raise awareness in a careful, earnest, and, as overused as the word is, nuanced way. Second, we must not allow ourselves to slip into hyperbole, and we must correct hysterical commentary on the issue. At all times, we must pursue accuracy in our defense of the truth, the two necessarily go together, despite what the authors of the 1619 Project or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez may claim.

Now that CRT is receiving so much exposure—a truly surreal turn of events for someone who has been reading about this stuff for several years and often worried if he had himself entered into a conspiracy theory— the temptation for people will be to see its influence everywhere and in everything. To be fair, as my friend Neil Shenvi is fond of saying, once you see it, you cannot unsee it. It is truly astounding how influential these ideas are; how deep-seated in certain segments of our society, how all-consuming for certain quadrants of the population, they are. It would be easy to feel like the walls are closing in on western civilization— our schools, families, and governmental institutions. To be sure, critical social theories are a real and present threat to western society if for no other reason than that said theories are preoccupied with the problematization and dismantlement of western culture.

On the other hand, it is not literally everywhere. It is often said that CRT is itself conspiratorial. This is, in my opinion, an accurate description. Anything that offers a unitary explanation for human activity, and then implicates everyone in the outcome, is on its way to conspiracy status. That CRT and the niche ideas that are intricate to it (e.g. White Privilege and White Fragility) are unfalsifiable should also raise red flags. (No, that was not a Red Scare reference. Yes, I realize that CRT dismisses the standard of falsifiability as a western, white, male construct conjured up to suppress non-western, indigenous ways of knowing.)

And yet, we cannot allow ourselves to lapse into conspiracy theories about this conspiratorial ideology. It will do us no good to see it where it is not. It will help no one to offer half-baked representations of it accompanied by even doughier commentary. When dealing with critical theories, the bread and butter of which is broad and unsubstantial generalizations like “When I see disparities, I see racism,” precision is our friend (namely, because precision is the friend of truth).

We are going to have enough accusations of incivility and libel, for eroding the Christian “public witness,” on our hands merely for espousing the truth over and against falsehood when it is not publicly convenient to do so. We, therefore, need not compound the issue for ourselves by being careless in our thought. The problematic takes out there that I have in mind generally fall into one of two classes. Either they are intellectually and conceptually lazy, and sometimes bordering on conspiratorial, or they engage in friendly fire. The former gets critical theory wrong and the latter makes every man an island of self-tailored principle.

No, Black Lives Matter is not the leopard from Revelation 13:2. I am generally disinterested in eschatology— I like to say that there is a reason that the only New Testament books on which Calvin did not write commentaries were 2 and 3 John, and Revelation— but I know this much.

No, intersectionality is not the end game of CRT, as I have seen some erroneously suggest. Such a claim makes no conceptual sense. Intersectionality is, as I’ve argued, a mid-level theory, a sensibility, that, in my opinion, can have no existence outside of the assumptions, methods, and aspirations of CRT. Kimberlé Crenshaw’s creation is meant to cultivate greater awareness of difference and broader conceptions of oppression, and better equip CRT analysis of relative power dynamics. This is not an end goal. It is the means to an end. The end goal is liberation from hegemonic constraints and the emergence of some amorphous, equitable utopia.

Just as we cannot be lazy in our thinking regarding critical theory concepts, we also cannot afford to allow our excitement and zeal to yield friendly fire casualties.

Concern for social issues is not tantamount to being a pseudo-Marxist. Likewise, someone is not woke-adjacent just because they approach critical theory on its own terms, or because they insist on being apolitical, or endeavor to be fair to their interlocutors. We must make sure, both within and without the Twitterverse, that we do not throw around the pejorative of “cultural Marxist,” even against those who are overly obsessed with the latest pressing cultural issue, as indiscriminately as do the woke with accusations of “racism.”

As Carl Trueman has humorously put it,

“To deny the pre-political, to focus on institutions, to condemn anyone whose church isn’t constantly addressing the latest fad of the 24-hour news cycle as somehow sinning—that is to mimic the world’s values, the world’s practices, and the world’s cheap outrage. In fact, calling that kind of behavior cultural Marxism is to flatter it far too highly, implying a sophistication that half-baked cheap shots simply do not possess.”

It is my contention that one of the best ways to fight the scourge of CRT is to insist on reasoned, logical, sustained, principled, evidentiary arguments— basically all the things the Smithsonian erroneously labels “whiteness”— for one’s position contra our modern day race-mongers. In a similar way, the best way to fight the revolutionaries is to regularly invoke the transcendent things— the law of God, the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the communion of the saints— over and against the increasingly politicized things of this world and the false sense of immediacy present in seemingly every conversation.

The kind of belligerent fire breathing that I have witnessed on Twitter since the OMB announcement has been, by and large, counterproductive. Much of it has been hysterical, inaccurate, and indiscriminate. This is regrettable and will only make the realwork, to borrow a woke phrase, more difficult for the rest of us.

Hold Fast!

Critical theory represents a family of very, very bad ideas. CRT, Queer Theory, Critical Pedagogy, Postcolonial Theory, and all the rest spring from a common, poisoned well. The ideological ecosystem in which they were grown has historically proven its capacity for human suffering and societal confusion. More importantly, critical theories deny the transcendent, disparage (at least, our ability to ascertain non-politicized) objective truth, present an arid, lifeless explanation for human conduct that denies real moral agency, and foster a resentful attitude toward society— and, really, anything that comes to us as a given. Further, as I have argued before, the embrace of critical ideologies inhibits our ability to analyze real problems in the world, including but not limited to racism.

These ideas, for so many reasons— some of which I have tried to demonstrate— are incompatible with Christianity. As others have convincingly argued, critical social justice contains all the components of a religion. Christians cannot serve two masters. Nor can it supplement its own theology with the false religious convictions or explanations for the world.

All of this is true. But we must not panic. To be clear, I am not advocating for the very real influence, evidently destructive potential, and ideological bankruptcy, of critical theories to be downplayed. What I am arguing is that we stay the course.

Part of the reason that critical theories have gained so much ground, especially in the academy, is because Christians were resting on their laurels. It is natural to panic when you realize that you have been caught unawares. But we must resist this impulse. The information cascade effect of social media does not help. The feeling of being overrun by CRT is only compounded when it is the only thing trending on Twitter. One day you were fuzzy on the issue, and the next you are being bombarded with it.

Pastors may sense the need to play catch-up. This is partially true. But real competency in this area cannot be gained overnight, as anyone who has done the work will tell you. It will take time. There is no substitute for reading primary sources which, in this case, are often impenetrable and, frankly, boring. Congregants should not rush their pastors in this. Pastors should not abandon all other theological duties in pursuit of competency on the topic. They should not succumb to the culturally fabricated sense of urgency. Faithful, careful plodding is required now more than ever.

Another thing: do not let people convince you that taking the Theorists and their contemporary disciples at their word is somehow uncivil. On the contrary, it is fealty to the truth and honesty that leads us to do so. When Evangelical leaders say things that coincide with the prescriptions of CRT and the like and are consistent in usage and meaning with the same, it is not uncivil to hold them accountable. This is not tantamount to questioning their faith or eternal security. It is treating them like leaders.

The great thing about critical theory texts is that they tell you exactly what they mean, even if in jargon-laden fashion. If a leader espouses ideas that stink of the poisoned well of Theory, then the case is either 1) they really mean it, or 2) they have misunderstood the meaning of the ideas and lingo they are chanting and have been careless in the assessment of the same. In either case, whether for theological error— “heresy” is almost certainly too strong of a word and should be used sparingly— or laziness, accountability (especially for public statements) is in order.

In administering accountability, we must keep two things in mind. First, we must allow room, in a spirit of graciousness and hope for reconciliation, for those in theological error to return to the fold. We must be careful to fight the war on two fronts with integrity and precision, yes, but we must also offer an olive branch to the refuges of the ideological scourge we are presently facing. Many have been duped by it. Let us not be harsh with them. I argued recently that, per the “idea laundering” thesis, many Evangelicals who are dabbling in critical ideology do so either unintentionally (i.e. they are just talking like everyone else) or incompetently (i.e. they do not quite understand it). We must be sympathetic to this fact. Sympathy, however, is not the same as acquiescence or affirmation.

Second, on the flipside, it means that we must not waiver in our convictions. Judging public statements according to the rule of scripture and time-honored theological convictions drawn therefrom, is not unloving. It is supremely loving because the Truth is loving. Do not let people convince you that you are bigoted, intolerant, or anything else simply for refusing to waiver from the deposit of truth with which you have been entrusted.

Rod Dreher’s new, must-read book, Live Not By Lies, takes its title from the last message delivered by the dissident Alexandr Solzhenitsyn to the Russian people before he was exiled to the west by the Soviet government. Therein, Solzhenitsyn admitted that “to step out onto the square and shout out the truth, to say out loud what we think” might be too tall of an order for many. But he urged, “But let us at least refuse to say what we do not think!” This is the essence of what it means to live not by lies. It is as good advice as any for the present moment, especially for Christians.

Hold fast.

Twitter, Facebook Go Full Tilt Protecting Biden Just Weeks After Execs Join Transition Team | Zero Hedge

Masks are all the way off…

As if anyone needed more evidence of Silicon Valley’s overt political bias – just weeks before Twitter and Facebook nuked Biden corruption revelations from their platforms with the intensity of a thousand suns, executives from both companies joined the Biden transition team.

In a bombshell report from the New York Post, leaked emails reveal thatHunter Biden introduced his father to a Burisma executive less than a year before then-VP Joe Biden pressured the Ukrainian government into firing its chief prosecutor investigating the company – something Biden openly bragged about on tape.

As soon as the news hit, social media cracked down  suspending accounts who shared the story – including the NY Post, and preventing people from tweeting it or sharing it in Direct Messages (DMs). Twitter defended itself, claiming in a nebulous statement that they do not allow ‘content obtained through hacking that contains private information, may put people in physical harm or danger, or contains trade secrets.’

The Biden emails weren’t hacked – they were found on a laptop reportedly dropped off at a Delaware computer repair store. Yet, Twitter had no problem allowing President Trump’s leaked tax records on the platform.

Perhaps the selective enforcement of content which is politically harmful to Democrats can be explained by recent hires by the Biden transition team.

According to Breitbart, Twitter Public Policy Director Carlos Monje left the social media giant to join Biden’s transition team in September. He will reportedly serve as co-chair of Biden’s infrastructure policy committee, and helped organize a fundraiser for the former VP this week, according to an invitation from Politico.

Monje has worked in the world of presidential transition politics in the past, previously serving as the director of agency review on the team that prepared for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s administration, which failed to take flight. Monje also worked on the Obama administration team’s 2008 national security working group according to his LinkedIn profile.

Monje also acted as deputy policy director during Obama’s first run for office and subsequently served as a senior policy advisor and special assistant to the president on the Domestic Policy Council. Monje’s final years in the administration were spent in the Transporation Department before he departed for Twitter. –Breitbart

Meanwhile in October, Biden’s transition team hired Facebook executive Jessica Hertz to its general counsel to deal with ‘ethics’ issues. Notably, Facebook was the first platform to ban the Post article – with former Democrat staffer and Facebook communications team member Andy Stone tweeting that the company would be ‘reducing its distribution.’

So, does anyone believe Jack Dorsey when he says the company doesn’t shadowban content based on political beliefs?

Really?

Why are so many Americans suddenly relocating, buying guns and storing up huge quantities of food? — End Of The American Dream

In 2020, we have been watching hundreds of thousands of Americans relocate, gun sales have shattered all previous levels, and people are purchasing and storing huge stockpiles of food.  We have seen the American people get deeply concerned about the future before, but we have never seen anything quite like this.  It is definitely a major life decision to pack up everything you own and move to another part of the country, but that is precisely what countless Americans have been doing in recent months.  WABC wanted to know precisely how many people have been doing this in New York City, and the information that they were able to get from the United States Postal Service really surprised them

7 On Your Side Investigates requested from the United States Postal Service how many families requested a change of address and moved to zip codes outside of New York City, and the numbers are big.

In fact, those numbers show that over 246,000 New Yorkers “have filed a change of address request” just since the month of March…

Overall since March, more than 246,000 people have filed a change of address request. That’s an almost 100% increase compared to the same time period in 2019.

Of course people have been moving away from other major cities in very large numbers as well, and this has created a tremendous glut of empty apartments that need to be filled.

Because there is now so much supply and so little demand, apartment rental prices have been plummeting, and this has especially been the case in the San Francisco area

San Francisco saw the prices fall the furthest in September, according to data from Realtor.com, with costs for a one-bedroom unit falling by 24.2%.

Two other cities in California – San Mateo and Santa Clara – experienced the second and third largest drop in average one-bedroom rent prices, followed by Suffolk, Mass., and Manhattan.

Meanwhile, demand for housing in desirable rural and suburban areas has been skyrocketing.

For example, we are being told that there is a “stunning real estate boom” going on in Maine right now…

Maine has seen a stunning real estate boom as buyers from New York City, Boston and Washington DC flee for quieter pastures amid the pandemic, causing home values to surge 17 percent, supply to hit a historic low and properties to fly off the market in a matter of 11 days.

If I was looking to relocate to the Northeast, Maine would definitely be one of the places that I would consider.  It is quite beautiful, crime is generally not a major problem, and the population density is very low.

According to one real estate agent, people have been calling and asking her to “get me any house in Maine”, and she is doing her best to fulfill those requests.

Meanwhile, Americans have been feverishly buying guns as well.

In fact, the number of background checks that have been conducted this year has already broken the all-time record that was set last year…

The FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) – a widely accepted proxy – shows a 41% increase in activity during the first nine months of this year, compared to the same period in 2019, which was a record year. With 28.8 million background checks through the end of September, this year’s surge has already surpassed last year’s all-time high of 28.4 million.

While other industries have been deeply struggling in 2020, the gun industry is having a banner year, and many expect that to continue in 2021.

In a previous article, I discussed the fact that millions of Americans are also focused on storing up food right now.  In fact, one recent survey discovered that more than 50 percent of Americans “already have or plan to stockpile food and other essentials”

Slightly more than half of Americans in a recent poll from Sports and Leisure Research Group say they already have or plan to stockpile food and other essentials. The chief reason: fears of a resurgent pandemic, which could lead to disruptions such as new restrictions on businesses. On Oct. 2, the number of COVID-19 cases in the USA was its highest in almost two months.

At this point, so many Americans are stockpiling food that it has actually caused a very serious shortage of Mason jars

COVID-19 has caused shortages in coins, lumber and even aluminum cans. Now, add Mason jars to the list.

According to one small business owner, a twelve pack of jars will now often sell for “as much as $70”

“Some of them are as much as $70 for one 12 twelve pack of jars and they should be between $10 and $12 but nothing less than $20 dollars for a box of jars. So we can’t sell them at that, you know you just can’t make money doing that,” said Robin Hannon, owner of Timmy Crack Corn.

So why are so many Americans going to such extremes all of a sudden?

Well, there is no easy answer.

Of course many are concerned about the upcoming election, but that will come and go.

Others are worried that the next wave of the coronavirus pandemic could be even worse than what we have already experienced, but by now it has become clear that this isn’t the sort of pandemic that is going to kill millions of us.

Some people that I talk to believe that our economic problems and the civil unrest in our major cities will get worse, and I agree with that assessment.

But is that really a reason to pack up everything and head for the hills?

Ultimately, I think that many Americans understand that everything that we have been through so far is just the leading edge of something much larger.

Whether you want to call it “the big meltdown”, “the collapse of society” or “the perfect storm”, the truth is that the party is ending.

Every day we get more evidence that our society is unraveling right in front of our eyes, and I work very hard to document that evidence for my readers.

We are heading into times that are going to be absolutely catastrophic for our nation, and on a gut level a lot of people out there know that this is true.

So we should certainly not blame anyone that wants to move to the middle of nowhere, buy guns and stockpile lots of food.

In the end, the truth is that it is probably what just about all of us should be doing.

Why are so many Americans suddenly relocating, buying guns and storing up huge quantities of food? — End Of The American Dream

Forget ‘Russian Collusion’, Both Facebook And Twitter Are Interfering With Our Election And Attempting To Rig It In Favor Of Democrat Joe Biden — Now The End Begins

Following the publication of the New York Post’sbombshell story about the Biden family’s business dealings in Ukraine, Facebook and Twitter worked hard to suppress the story across their platforms. The censorship comes just weeks after executives from both firms joined the Joe Biden transition team.

Many people have said to me that “well, 2020 certainly couldn’t get much stranger”, and yet, it meets and exceeds that statement now on a near daily basis. 2020 is the strangest year in perhaps the entire 244-year history of the United States. We live in nation that gets obsessed with “Russian collusion”, spending $28 million dollars to investigate it when they knew it was phony the whole time, and does literally nothing when social media giants Twitter and Facebook are attempting to rig the election in Joe Biden’s favor while we watch it unfold in real time.

All this confirms for me the feeling I have had since the lockdowns began back in March, that the elections in 19 days are going to be explosive, ugly, and almost certainly filled with the type of violence we have seen over the last 5 months from the rioters. Tens of thousands of black-hooded BLM and ANTIFA fascist militants setting Washington on fire? Not just possible, but overwhelmingly probable. Prepare for anything, prepare for the worst, and whatever you do, witness to the lost while we still have time and opportunity to do so. That window may just be shutting for good in the next 19 days.

Facebook and Twitter Censor Biden Bombshells Weeks After Execs Join His Transition Team

FROM BREITBART: Breitbart News recently reported on the New York Post’s bombshell story that indicated that Joe Biden may have met with an adviser to the board of Burisma while he was Vice President, arranged by his son Hunter, who was working as a lobbyist for the company at the time. Joe Biden has previously said, “I have never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”

But, the leaked emails allegedly show that Hunter introduced his father to a Bursima executive less than a year before Biden, acting as Vice President, pressured the Ukrainian government into firing a prosecutor who was investigating the company. Shortly after the story broke, many found themselves having trouble sharing it across social media. This censorship comes just weeks after executives from both Facebook and Twitter joined the Biden transition team.

Breitbart News reported in September that Twitter Public Policy Director Carlos Monje left the social media company to join the transition team for Joe Biden. Monje’s specific role on the team has not been made clear and Biden’s transition team reportedly declined to comment on the situation. Despite a specific role not being named, Monje will reportedly be serving as co-chair of Biden’s infrastructure policy committee and has already helped to host a fundraiser for Biden this week, according to an invitation sent to Politico.

In October, Breitbart News further reported that Biden’s transition team had hired top Facebook executive Jessica Hertz to its general counsel to oversee ethical issues. The move reportedly came as the campaign struggles with Facebook to have posts by President Trump censored on the platform. This is the second Big Tech executive to join Biden’s campaign. Hertz will reportedly be responsible for “enforcement, oversight, and compliance” of the ethics plan that Biden’s team unveiled this week.

NY Post Editor CENSORED by Facebook and Twitter after Bombshell Story on Hunter Biden & Ukraine

NY Post Opinion Editor Sohrab Ahmari tried posting a link on Twitter to the bombshell story his newspaper broke about newly obtained emails between Hunter Biden and Burisma officials in Ukraine. But he was blocked. According to Twitter, the story was “potentially harmful.” Yeah, harmful to the Joe Biden campaign… because this story — if verified to be true — is the “smoking gun” that threads ALL the pieces of the Biden, Ukraine saga together. But instead of allowing voters to make their own decisions in the upcoming election, it seems Big Tech is doing what it can to gate keep in new, dangerous ways.

October 15th The D. L. Moody Year Book

Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled think heart to lie …?—Acts 5:3.

“MR. MOODY,” you say, “how can I check myself? how can I overcome the habit of lying and gossip?” A lady once said to me that she had got so into the habit of exaggerating that her friends said they could never understand her.

The cure is simple, but not very pleasant. Treat it as a sin, and confess it to God and the person whom you have wronged. As soon as you catch yourself lying, go straight to that person and confess you have lied. Let your confession be as wide as your transgression. If you have slandered or lied about any one in public, let your confession be public. Many a person says some mean, false thing about another in the presence of others, and then tries to patch it up by going to that person alone. This is not making adequate confession. I need not go to God with confession until I have made it right with that person, if it is in my power to do so; He will not hear me.[1]

The economic implosion of 2020: Job losses ramp up again as millions of Americans continue to slide into poverty — The Economic Collapse

The mainstream media keeps trying to convince us that things are about to get a whole lot better for the U.S. economy, but instead they just keep getting worse.  On Thursday, we learned that another 898,000 Americans filed new claims for unemployment benefits last week.  That was the highest number that we have seen since August, and it is yet more evidence that a new wave of layoffs has begun.  But according to the experts that the mainstream media relies upon, this wasn’t supposed to happen.  According to them, the number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits was supposed to be steadily tapering off as the U.S. economy shifted into recovery mode.  Unfortunately for all of us, those experts have been dead wrong.

Yesterday, I wrote about the decline of the middle class in our country, and here in 2020 this pandemic has greatly accelerated that process.

In fact, one new study has found that almost 8 million more Americans have plunged into poverty just since May

Nearly 8 million Americans have slid into poverty since May, according to a Columbia University study reported by the New York Times.

Why it matters:The researchers found that the monthly poverty rate for September was higher than rates during April or May, and it also topped pre-crisis levels, “[d]ue to the expiration of the CARES Act’s stimulus checks and $600 per week supplement to unemployment benefits.”

And another study discovered that 6 million more Americans fell into poverty in just the last three months

A separate study by researchers at Notre Dame and the University of Chicago, found that 6 million people have slipped into poverty in the last three months, per the Times.

Our hearts should be breaking because of what is going on all over the country right now.

Millions upon millions of hard working people have lost their jobs and can’t find new ones.  As a result, they have lost the comfortable middle class lifestyles that they once enjoyed and have now joined the ranks of the poor.

But the official government numbers don’t look that bad because millions of those people are not even categorized as “unemployed”.  Instead, many of the workers that have lost their jobs during this pandemic have been thrown into a category that is called “not in the labor force”.

In order to have faith in the official government numbers, you have got to believe that more than 100 million working age Americans are “not in the labor force” because they don’t want to work.

It is such a sham.  Why don’t we just put every single American that is not working into the “not in the labor force” category so that we can have 0.0 percent unemployment?

Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

Of course the truth is that more Americans are being laid off with each passing day.  Over the past few weeks, some of the most iconic companies in the entire nation have been letting workers go

Further, companies have begun initiating layoffs on a trajectory similar to traditional recessions, economists said, as slowdowns in consumer demand (rather than state-mandated shutdowns) lead them to cut jobs or close for good.

Companies such as AllstateAmerican AirlinesDisneyRoyal Dutch Shell and United Airlines have each announced plans to cut thousands of workers in recent weeks.

Some parts of the country have been hit much harder than others by this economic downturn.

For instance, tourism has dried up almost completely in Las Vegas, and this week there have been more layoff announcements

The Tropicana Las Vegas has given notice to 828 employees that they are being laid off beginning Thursday, Oct. 15.

And layoffs at two Paris Las Vegas restaurants are coming soon as notices have been filed with the state. Mon Ami Gabi intends to lay off 96 employees, and the Eiffel Tower Restaurant will lay off 53 employees. Both moves are scheduled to happen on Dec. 16, and the layoffs will be permanent.

In the end, most of the jobs that have been lost in Las Vegas will never come back until the tourists return, and that is simply not going to be happening for the foreseeable future.

Next door, the state of California has been absolutely devastated by this crisis as well.

If you can believe it, one out of every four Californians received unemployment benefits between March and July.  The state may have more billionaires than anywhere else in the country, but according to the U.S. Census Bureau it also has the highest poverty rate

Home to 166 billionaires, who made over $235 billion since the beginning of the pandemic, the Golden State also has the highest poverty rate: 17.2% when adjusted for the cost of living, according to a recent Census Bureau analysis.

That means that almost one out of every five people in the entire state of California is living in poverty right now.

If this is what a “recovery” looks like, I would hate to see what the “bad times” are going to look like.

And without a doubt, economic conditions are definitely going to get worse than they are now.

So many families in California are just barely scraping by from month to month, and more of them are falling into poverty every day.  In fact, even USA Today is admitting that “California’s middle class isn’t done shrinking”…

To many, the streets of the Bay Area are renowned for the enduring homelessness crisis as much as for the renowned tech giants of Silicon Valley. In-between, California’s middle class isn’t done shrinking; teachers, artists, waiters and gig workers are awaiting their fate, often one government program away from having to take a minimum-wage job — or lose their homes.

It is kind of ironic.  Many of those that live in California like to lecture the rest of us about “wealthy inequality”, but it is worse in their state than anywhere else.

Those at the very, very top of the pyramid are thriving (for now), but meanwhile countless others are falling out of the middle class.

It is like a really perverse game of musical chairs.  Every time the music stops, more people lose their seats and the middle class shrinks some more.

Sadly, I think that this process is going to accelerate even more in 2021, and that is really bad news for millions upon millions of middle class American families that are deeply struggling right now.

5 Fearless Female Warriors Draining the Swamp — CultureWatch

These five female superstars put so many men to shame:

I have often asked this question before: Where are all the men? Where are all the brave and courageous men standing strong when and where it counts, whether it be in politics, in the culture wars, or even in the pulpits? Why does it always seem that fantastic females are at the forefront of so many of these battles and flashpoints?

So often when I see a key bit of warfare taking place, at the front of the pack are some superlative women who seem to put so many men to shame. Don’t get me wrong: I am so glad they are there. So I am not gainsaying them but all the cowardly men who refuse to show their face where the battles rage. See my earlier piece on this here: billmuehlenberg.com/2011/07/15/where-are-all-the-strong-men/

Yes, there are of course many great men out there fighting the good fight. Trump himself of course is leading the charge here. He has the insight and wisdom to know that it is not just a matter of Republican vs Democrat, but independent patriots vs establishment politicians of either stripe. Indeed, he knew it was the swamp itself that needed to be drained.

Many other American men could be mentioned here. So too, many Australians. When it comes to the culture wars one thinks of great folks like Warwick Marsh, Lyle Shelton and Martyn Iles – to name but a few – who have stood strong for quite some time now.

And a number of male political figures could also be mentioned. Let me just single out two of them. On the Federal level, everything I see by NSW MP Craig Kelly on the social media I share instantly. He really is switched on, and he sure is not backing down on the things that matter.

On the Victorian State level we have champions like Bernie Finn fighting strong for family, for freedom, and for life. He is often a lone figure seeking to take on the Labor/Andrews juggernaut. We need more politicians like you Craig and Bernie. But let me turn to these top five female fighters who deserve so much credit and praise.

Are there more than five fearless females that can be featured here? You betcha! I could easily do 50 of them. But these five have been much in the news of late, and they have all shown us sterling qualities of bravery, principle and conviction as they each do their bit to help drain the swamp. I begin here in Australia and then shift to the US.

Pete Credlin

No one who has been following the interminable daily press briefings by Victoria’s Dan Andrews does not know how things have been massively shaken up over the past few weeks. After weeks of hot air gabfests with hardly any hard questions from the journalists – with a few notable exceptions – a seismic shift has taken place in the person of Peta Credlin.

The journalist, Sky News host, lawyer, and former Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Tony Abbott has been showing up at these press conferences and putting some real terror into Andrews. Because of her terrific investigative work, tough questions, and persistence of a pit bull terrier, she has really shaken things up.

She already has one big political scalp, and more are certain to follow, with hopefully the biggest scalp of all – Andrews himself – soon enough coming. One meme making the rounds – which might offend one or two folks – has a pic of her and Andrews with these words: “When the only person with balls in Victoria is a woman.” That about sums it up. We sure can use some male counterparts to this champion pugilist. Bless you Peta.

Miranda Devine

Miranda was actually born in the US, the daughter of the former Australian editor Frank Devine. She is an Australian journalist and commentator who has worked for the Daily Telegraph and other media outlets. She is now covering the US elections and working with the New York Post. She has been breaking some big news stories, most notably the Joe and Hunter Biden corruption scandal.

Indeed, I just saw her appearing on the top-ranked show hosted by Tucker Carlson on Fox News. In many ways she – along with her colleagues – is doing for Biden and the Democrats what Credlin has been doing for Andrews and Labor.

She is helping to break one of the top stories in the US right now – all the more important given the upcoming election, and given that tech giants like Facebook and Twitter have been censoring this story. Her work is first class, and her swamp-draining credentials are now impeccable. Bless you Miranda.

Kayleigh McEnany

My first US example of a fearless female warrior is the recently appointed White House press secretary to President Trump. What a fearless and powerful champ she is. Simply taking on the hyper-left press corps everyday as they seek to dump on Trump requires someone with courage, grace, smarts, and street-fighting skills. And she performs flawlessly.

And she is super-qualified to do so. She has graduated from Harvard Law School and Georgetown University. She also studied politics and international relations at Oxford University. She is brilliant, articulate, and unable to be rattled by the loony left as they pour their anger and spite on her and Trump.

And especially noteworthy is the fact that she is a strong, committed Christian. Just one quote from her: “My mission in life is that when I pass, I will hear Him say ‘well done good and faithful servant.’ If I can end my life that way then it doesn’t matter what people say on the way there.” Bless you Kayleigh.

Candace Owens

This African-American conservative activist and commentator has been a real champion as she stands against the unhinged left and demonstrates that one can be a conservative pro-Trump intellectual and still be Black. As Kanye West tweeted two years ago: “I love the way Candace Owens thinks.”

She even launched the Blexit movement, a social media campaign to encourage Blacks and other minorities to exit the Democratic Party. And this is all the more remarkable given that not all that long ago she was a strong critic of Trump and conservatism.

One recent tweet of hers will have to suffice, tying in to what Miranda is doing: “The most compelling piece of this Hunter Biden story is that he was actually dumb enough to drop off 3 of his laptops for repair and then never returned back for them… in 2019…as his father ran for office, boldly lying to the world. This is why you don’t smoke crack, kids.” Bless you Candace.

Amy Coney Barrett

Anyone who has tuned in to the SCOTUS confirmation hearings this past week in the US would be left with no doubt that this is one amazing woman, and she is fully qualified – and then some – to sit on America’s top court. All the usual Democrat mud was flung at her, but she came out of it smelling like a rose, and looking like the powerful, intelligent and incredible woman that she is.

Barrett is a 48-year-old conservative from Chicago who formerly worked for justice Scalia. She studied law at the University of Notre Dame and had been a long-time law professor there. Because she is a Catholic charismatic, a conservative, a constitutional textualist and originalist, and has seven children (two of them adopted from Haiti), and is pro-life, the Democrats and the Left absolutely hate her.

All the more reason to see her confirmed to sit on the US Supreme Court. Let me offer just one quote from her: “Your legal career is but a means to an end, and… that end is building the kingdom of God.” Bless you Amy.

Now let me point out that there are of course many more terrific women that I could have honoured here. Maybe future articles will do so. And obviously not all of those I featured above are evangelical, Bible-believing Christians. Some are and some are not.

I often pray for these women, and you should too. For those who are not Christians, I pray they would go all the way, getting right with God so they can be even more effective and energetic in the work that they do. But just as God can use a pagan like Rahab just as much as he can use a godly judge like Deborah, God can use – and is using – these five champions to do so much good. May their tribes increase.

info@ConservativeBaptistNetwork.com

Bossier City, La. – Today, the Conservative Baptist Network and Alliance Defending Freedom announced a collaborative partnership to advance religious freedom and support the many churches affiliated with the Network.

“Religious liberty is under grave threat,” said Rod D. Martin, SBC Executive Committee officer and Conservative Baptist Network Steering Council member. “From threats of bankruptcy and jail against California pastors like John MacArthur, to the shuttering of New York synagogues, to courts ruling that corporate worship must take a back seat to the opening of casinos and riots in the streets, the First Amendment is hanging by a thread. It is being assaulted everywhere by leftists who would happily rip it out of the Constitution. And far too many Christian leaders stand silent, doing nothing.

“I am gratified that the Conservative Baptist Network can stand together with tireless warriors for religious liberty like the Alliance Defending Freedom in this time when American churches need more help than most imagined they ever could.”

Alliance Defending Freedom is an alliance-building, non-profit legal organization that advocates for the right of people to live out their faith freely. Through its ADF Church Alliance, it provides legal help for churches who face religious liberty legal challenges. Member churches can receive a review of governing documents to ensure religious liberty protections are in place, get answers to religious liberty legal questions as they arise, and receive representation in religious liberty legal matters if appropriate.

“Now more than ever it is important for churches to be united and engaged in stewarding culture. The partnership between the Conservative Baptist Network and the Alliance Defending Freedom Church Alliance will provide churches with the tools and resources they need to keep the door of the gospel open,” said Dana Harris, Regional Alliance Director at Alliance Defending Freedom.

Michael Farris, President and CEO of Alliance Defending Freedom, agreed.

“We appreciate the work the Conservative Baptist Network is doing to protect religious freedom, and we look forward to serving their churches through the Church Alliance program.”

Steve Scully Admits He Lied About ‘Hacked’ Anti-Trump Tweet — Faithwire

C-SPAN has suspended correspondent and would-be debate moderator Steve Scully after he lied about an anti-Trump exchange he had with a former White House spokesperson, claiming the tweet in question was the result of a “hack.”

Scully, who once interned for then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-Del.) in the early 1980s, said his Twitter account was “hacked” after it was discovered he sent a tweet to short-lived White House Press Secretary Anthony Scaramucci, who has since become a vehement critic of President Donald Trump. After the Republican president called Scully a “Never Trumper,” the embattled journalist wrote to Scaramucci: “Should I respond to Trump?”

When the tweet started circulating, Scully immediately claimed his social media account was “hacked” and the hacker (apparently) sent only one tweet, which was bizarrely directed to Scaramucci. Despite the puzzling claim, the Commission on Presidential Debates boosted Scully’s assertion, adding it had reported the alleged wrongdoing to Twitter and the FBI.

Media members came out of the woodworks to defend the C-SPAN journalist. Veteran pollster Frank Luntz was quick to defend Scully against anyone who cast doubt on his claims, calling the correspondent “100% honest and ethical.”

On Thursday, Scully admitted he lied.

“When I saw that [the Scaramucci] tweet had created a new controversy,” he said, “I falsely claimed that my Twitter account had been hacked.”

Scully went on to say his initial tweet and his lie about its origin “were both errors in judgment for which I am responsible.” He added to his C-SPAN colleagues, “I ask for their forgiveness as I try to move forward in a moment of reflection and disappointment in myself.”

For its part, C-SPAN said Scully shared the admission Wednesday, noting he understands he made “a serious mistake.” The outlet said it does “not condone” his actions.

All of this, as Faithwire managing editor Dan Andros pointed out, happened amid back-and-forth negotiations between the Trump and Biden campaigns over how to handle the second presidential debate following Trump’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis, from which he has since fully recovered.

The two campaigns were in the midst of negotiating when the commission decided, apparently without consulting the president’s team, to move the town hall debate fully online. At that point, Trump — who would have been virus-free in time for the contest — said he would not participate in a virtual event. At that point, the commission reportedly made the unilateral decision, sans consultation with the Trump campaign, to cancel the debate altogether.

Scully was supposed to moderate the second debate.

Biden and Trump are still slated to go head-to-head for the final presidential debate in Nashville, Tennessee, Oct. 22.

Mark Zuckerberg Pops Out Of Man’s Shower To Warn Him The Story He’s Reading Is Fake News — The Babylon Bee

BURLINGTON, NJ—Local man Bradley Waters was reading an interesting story he’d seen on Facebook while on the toilet this morning. He wasn’t sure if everything in the story was true, but he thought it was a significant story anyway. He was about to share it on Facebook with some thoughtful comments encouraging his friends to check it out and use their own judgment to figure out if it’s true.

But just as his finger hovered over the share button, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg jumped out from behind his shower curtain to warn him the story might be fake news.

“Greetings, Facebook user! That news story may not be true!” Zuckerberg said as he threw back the curtain, startling Waters half to death.

“AHHHHHH!!!” screamed the man on the toilet as he frantically tried to cover up.

“Now, if you’ll hand over your phone, I’ll make sure that story is permanently blocked so you never have to see that fake news trash again.”

Waters attempted to have Zuckerberg removed from his house, but the tech CEO pointed out the section of Facebook’s terms of service that clearly lays out Zuckerberg’s right to come into your home and correct you on fake news at any time. It also gives Zuckerberg unlimited snack privileges.

President Trump Discusses Current Events With Stu Varney – Full Interview — The Last Refuge

Docudrama
68 minutes / 2020
RATING: 7/10

This is a very good…something. The topic matter is plain enough – human origins – but what’s less clear is whether this is a documentary or drama.

The beginning is standard documentary: apologist Ray Comfort, just off camera, interviewing college students about their views on evolution.

But when the camera pulls back we discover these interviews are actually a smartphone’s 3-D holographic projections being viewed by a teen boy sitting on the edge of his couch (presumably a decade or two into the future seeing as there’s no app for that quite yet). When mom wanders by to put away groceries, he shares his doubts about whether God really did create in just six days. “What if they’re right, and we’re wrong?” he asks, “I mean, the scientific evidence for evolution is pretty overwhelming. What if God…used evolution?” To answer his questions, mom takes us through another scene change, shifting back 20 years to modern day when she was still in school, listening to an origins lecture at a Natural History museum. When the speaker concludes and most of the other students leave the auditorium, the young mom-to-be stays behind to question, and eventually debate, the scientist/lecturer. That’s where we stay, along with a few student stragglers, listening to a well-reasoned critique of the lecturer’s evolutionary presentation. While Genesis Impact hardly has a plot, it still has plenty of drama as evolution and creationist go head-to-head over the next hour.

Genesis Impact shouldn’t be evaluated as a drama though. The acting is fine – solid enough not to get in the way, and better than many a Christian drama – but the young lady is far too knowledgeable, and the evolutionist lecturer far too reasonable (readily conceding her every good point) to be realistic. Fortunately the filmmakers’ goal isn’t realism. They wanted to present a challenging, highly educational lecture on a pivotal topic, and they wanted to deliver it in a really unique and entertaining manner. Mission accomplished!

Caution

While the topic matter is the sort you might want to share with an atheist friend, that this is a staged debate – an acted out debate – provides the “out” any skeptic would take to dismiss it entirely, arguing that a real evolutionist would have had better responses, or wouldn’t have conceded so many points. So one caution would be that this isn’t one to win over an unsympathetic or hostile audience.

Conclusion

What makes it valuable is that the creationist critique is a really good one. Evolutionary proofs aren’t so overwhelming as it seems, with guesses built on assumptions, stacked atop beliefs. Secular science presents their conclusions as being unassailable, though sometimes the hype is as much the fault of the media as the scientists. Even when researchers couch their guesswork with phrases like “could be” and “might” and “probably” the media is likely to trumpet “Evidence of life has been found on Mars!” in 36-point front-page headlines.  Still, the same sort of unwarranted certainty can be found in Natural History dislays, and in university classrooms, so evolutionary arrogance isn’t simply a mainstream media invention.

Who should see Genesis Impact? It’s best suited for bible-believing Christians who are interested in, or troubled by, evolutionary accounts. It’ll be an encouragement and could serve as a leap-off point for further study. The depth of the material discussed also means this is best suited for college-age and up.

New Hunter Biden Emails Show Sales of Influence to Chinese Interests – Millions Paid to Biden Family for “Introductions” and Legal “Assistance”… — The Last Refuge

One of the reasons we are not seeing more DC politicians talking about the Hunter and Joe Biden story is because they too participate in exactly the same system.  It isn’t only Joe Biden, his family and democrats selling influence and assistance to foreign governments; most of the senate and legislative leadership use exactly the same process to build wealth for their family.  At this point all those who remain silent are doing the same thing.

The New York Post has another censored example, this time with China, showing emails between Hunter Biden and his business interests.  The emails show payments to Hunter Biden and his business associates, and Chinese firms providing equity ownership to Joe Biden in exchange for agreements to introduce them to influential DC people who can benefit their business interests.  The intent of the communication is transparent.

New York Post […]  Another email — sent by Biden as part of an Aug. 2, 2017, chain — involved a deal he struck with the since-vanished chairman of CEFC, Ye Jianming, for half-ownership of a holding company that was expected to provide Biden with more than $10 million a year.

Ye, who had ties to the Chinese military and intelligence service, hasn’t been seen since being taken into custody by Chinese authorities in early 2018, and CEFC went bankrupt earlier this year, according to reports.

Biden wrote that Ye had sweetened the terms of an earlier, three-year consulting contract with CEFC that was to pay him $10 million annually “for introductions alone.”  (read more)

♦The biggest lie in modern economics, willingly spread and maintained by corporate media, is that a system of global markets still exists.

It doesn’t.

Every element of global economic trade is controlled and exploited by massive institutions, multinational banks and multinational corporations. Institutions like the World Trade Organization (WTO) and World Bank control trillions of dollars in economic activity. Underneath that economic activity there are people who hold the reigns of power over the outcomes. These individuals and groups are the stakeholders in direct opposition to principles of America-First national economics.

The modern financial constructs of these entities have been established over the course of the past three decades. When you understand how they manipulate the economic system of individual nations you begin to understand understand why they are so fundamentally opposed to President Trump.

In the Western World, separate from communist control perspectives (ie. China), “Global markets” are a modern myth; nothing more than a talking point meant to keep people satiated with sound bites they might find familiar. Global markets have been destroyed over the past three decades by multinational corporations who control the products formerly contained within global markets.

The same is true for “Commodities Markets”. The multinational trade and economic system, run by corporations and multinational banks, now controls the product outputs of independent nations. The free market economic system has been usurped by entities who create what is best described as ‘controlled markets’.

U.S. President Trump smartly understands what has taken place. Additionally he uses economic leverage as part of a broader national security policy; and to understand who opposes President Trump specifically because of the economic leverage he creates, it becomes important to understand the objectives of the global and financial elite who run and operate the institutions. The Big Club.

Understanding how trillions of trade dollars influence geopolitical policy we begin to understand the three-decade global financial construct they seek to protect.

That is, global financial exploitation of national markets. {GO DEEP}
