US West Prepares for Possible 1st Water Shortage Declaration

CARSON CITY, Nev.—The man-made lakes that store water supplying millions of people in the U.S. West and Mexico are projected to shrink to historic lows in the coming months, dropping to levels that could trigger the federal government’s first-ever official shortage declaration and prompt cuts in Arizona and Nevada. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation released 24-month projections last week forecasting that less Colorado River water will cascade down from the Rocky Mountains through Lake Powell and Lake Mead and into the arid deserts of the U.S. Southwest and the Gulf of California. Water levels in the two lakes are expected to plummet low enough for the agency to declare an official shortage for the first time, threatening the supply of Colorado River water that growing cities and farms rely on. The agency’s models project Lake Mead will fall below 1,075 feet for the first time in June 2021.

Bashing Russia for US-Orchestrated Ukraine Aggression – Freedoms Phoenix

Bashing Russia for US-Orchestrated Ukraine Aggression

by Stephen Lendman (stephenlendman.org – Home – Stephen Lendman)

All the news that’s fit to print is banned in NYT editions — state-approved reinvented reality featured instead.

Since the Obama/Biden regime installed Nazism in Ukraine over seven years ago, US-orchestrated intermittent war raged against Donbass by puppet regime conscripts.

Since February, things dangerously escalated.

On Friday, Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Militia Deputy Chief of Staff Eduard Basurin said the following:

Ukrainian fighters violated the Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire 36 times over the past week.”

They used US/Western-supplied mortars, IFVs, anti-aircraft guns, and grenade launchers to target 16 DPR townships.

Last July, Additional Measures to Strengthen the Ceasefire were signed at a Contact Group meeting — to reinforce and control the indefinite ceasefire in effect since July 21, 2019.

Attempts to resolve years of conflict since 2014 by Russia, the DPR and  LPR (Lugansk) People’s Republic failed because US-controlled Ukraine wants endless war, not restoration of peace and stability.

Since US-orchestrated aggression by Kiev forces on Donbass began escalating in February, the NYT and other establishment media falsely blamed Russian forces for crimes of war, against humanity, and related rule of law breaches by Ukrainian conscripts.

On Friday, the Times turned truth on its head by falsely claiming that Russian forces in their own territory threaten Ukraine.

So-called Donbass (DPR and LPR) separatists refuse to live under the scourge of US-installed fascist tyranny — nor should any one.

On all things Russia — and other nations free from US control — the Times and other establishment media invent their own falsified reality, based on state-supplied talking points.

No Russian buildup in its own territory threatens cross-border attacks.

No Russian US election meddling or cyberattacks occurred — what Washington and its imperial allies repeatedly inflict on targeted nations, along with endless wars by hot and/or other means, the highest of high crimes on nonbelligerent states threatening no one.

No annexation of Crimea occurred, no Russian disinformation — a longstanding Times speciality.

A litany of bald-faced Big Lies defines all its reports on Russia and other independent nations, hard truths suppressed.

No Russian show of force cross-border threat exists.

The US is frustrated because for over a century, Russia remains proudly independent of US imperial control.

Except for the aberrational 1990s, Russia hasn’t and isn’t about to roll over for any foreign power, clearly not imperial USA — at war on humanity at home and abroad.

Moscow aims to restore peace and stability to Europe’s heartland — polar opposite US rage for endless wars worldwide.

Russia isn’t pressuring Ukraine or any other countries.

In stark contrast, the US pressures, bullies, bribes and smashes other nations into compliance with its hegemonic will.

What works at times against some easy-to-roll-over weak nations fails against Russia, China, Iran and other sovereign states that won’t sell their soul to a higher power anywhere outside their borders.

The Times and other establishment media long ago abandoned journalism as it should be — operating instead as a collective mouthpiece for wealth, power and privilege.

Lies, Big Lies, mass deception, and state-approved propaganda is what they do, truth and full disclosure banished on issues mattering most.

Russian Foreign Ministry on Hostile US Actions, Ukraine and Dedollarization – Stephen Lendman

Russia’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova (MZ) slammed hostile Biden regime actions, including its UN Charter-breaching sanctions.

“We have repeatedly warned the US about the consequences of its hostile moves that are dangerously raising the level of confrontation between our countries,” she said, adding:

Washington “is not ready to accept the objective reality of a multipolar world in which American hegemony is not possible.”

“This aggressive conduct will certainly meet with resolute resistance.”

Biden regime hardliners are recklessly pushing the envelope for possible direct confrontation with Russia, China, and other countries — on top of endless US wars by hot and other means in multiple theaters.

They transformed Ukraine into the world’s top hot spot in Europe’s heartland.

US-orchestrated ceasefire violations by proxy Kiev forces against nonbelligerent Donbass doubled in recent weeks.

MZ: “Kiev continues to send new military equipment to the contact line.”

“From March 1 to March 31, the Special Monitoring Mission reported 288 cases where Ukrainian (artillery, combat UAVs, and other) weapons were spotted at Donbass railway stations controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.”

“The number of attacks on the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s rRepublics (sharply) increased.”

Since 2014, US-orchestrated Kiev aggression killed thousands of Donbass civilians, including young children — the slaughter ignored by the West, including by their press agent media.

Zelensky heads Kiev’s US-controlled puppet regime.

“His most recent remarks are openly aggressive and belligerent,” said MZ, adding:

“At the same time, Ukraine is clearly counting on intervention of its Western supervisors.”

“Bad idea. Any scenarios of a forceful suppression of Donbass, let alone a seizure of Crimea, are infeasible and suicidal.”

“We do not count on the sanity of (extremists installed by the US) in Kiev and deceived the expectations of people who believed in their peaceful intentions.”

Efforts by Russia to ease heightened tensions and deescalate conflict failed because Biden regime hardliners want endless war.

As directed by its US handlers, Kiev’s Zelensky regime keeps pushing the envelope aggressively near Russia’s borders.

US-led Western and Ukrainian propaganda falsely blames Russia and Donbass for aggression by Pentagon/CIA directed Kiev conscripts.

They falsely accused Moscow of threatening to invade Ukraine, knowing no such threat exists.

The US, NATO, and Kiev bear full responsibility for killing thousands and “for(cing) 2.5 million people to become refugees and internally displaced persons” since 2014, MZ explained, adding:

The Biden regime and “its NATO allies continue (to falsely) accus(e) Russia of building up its military units and equipment near the border with Ukraine.”

“These propaganda attacks demonstrate that the Alliance and its member countries want to justify their more intensive military activities in Ukraine and near it.”

The Pentagon, CIA, and their NATO counterparts are actively involved in orchestrating endless Kiev war on Donbass.

They’re pouring heavy weapons and equipment into Ukraine for warmaking, not defense.

They’re deliberately escalating hostilities along the contact line between Ukraine and independent Donbass.

Ignoring good faith conflict resolution efforts by Russia, Biden regime hardliners are using aggression by proxy Ukrainian forces to try dragging Moscow into direct confrontation with them.

Separately, MZ explained that Russia is developing “and promot(ing) an alternative payments architecture that will be aligned with analogues in other countries that do not depend on Washington’s policy.”

It’s well known that “Washington us(es) its national currency and financial system as tools for conducting its policy aggressively, not just contrary to or in violation of the international legal framework, but with a view to destroying it.”

Policies pursued by Moscow are in response to failure by the US-dominated West “to ensur)e) uninterrupted access to the international financial system, the decreasing predictability of the US economic policy, uncontrollable introduction of unsubstantiated restrictions, and continued threats of their use.”

“(O)ur experience shows, as Dmitry Peskov has already said, that nothing can be ruled out in our current relations with the West.” T

“We must prepare for any unfriendly moves by” Russia’s mortal enemies its officials falsely call “partners” and “colleagues.”

7 Attributes of the Considerate Christian — Beautiful Christian Life

Where have all the manners gone in society today? We don’t have to look any further than social media or the comments section of online articles to find lots of rude—and even cruel—remarks. Civility seems to be an increasingly uncommon attribute in much of the world.

The basis of all good manners is consideration for the feelings of others, and Christians should be known for being especially gracious, loving, and kind. Here are seven attributes of considerate Christians:

1. They are inclusive.

Considerate Christians try to make sure people feel included in group activities, parties, and other social gatherings. This is not a burden for considerate Christians, because they find great happiness in making people feel loved and wanted.

2. They treat everyone with respect.

Considerate Christians give all people the respect and honor they deserve as creatures made in God’s image. They take time to listen to, care about, and help everyone God brings into their lives. When considerate Christians have different views from someone else on a certain topic, they engage in discussion—sometimes quite vigorously—with all politeness and decorum. As G. K. Chesterton stated, “People generally quarrel because they cannot argue.”

3. They give necessary criticism privately whenever possible.

Considerate Christians don’t rebuke or scold people in public—whether in person or online—unless it is essential to correct a serious error or circumvent a dangerous situation. When considerate Christians must give public criticism, they exercise discretion, wisdom, and great humility in their deportment. A considerate Christian follows the biblical guidelines in Matthew 18:15–20 and Galatians 6:1 for confronting a brother or sister in Christ who is caught up in a sin.

4. They uphold biblical standards with courage and serenity.

Considerate Christians don’t force their beliefs on others. They hold resolutely to the teachings, beliefs, and commands God has given them in the Bible with peaceful hearts and minds. Considerate Christians do not allow others to intimidate or bully them to compromise in any area that would go against their conscience in Christ. They are not afraid of declaring the glorious truth of the gospel—or standing alone if they must. In holding to their convictions with grace and dignity, considerate Christians provide a safe harbor where both Christians and non-Christians can go for wise and faithful counsel.

5. They seek to love and forgive at all times.

Considerate Christians never return evil for evil but rather show the world the better way of forgiveness and love. This does not mean Christians don’t fight in just wars or come to the defense of someone being harmed. A Christian’s honor requires such duties. Instead of returning an insult, considerate Christians forgive, pray for, love, and show respect to the person who has sinned against them. By repaying evil with love, Christians display their citizenship in a kingdom that is not of this world (John 18:36).

6. They are humble.

Considerate Christians understand that they are sinners who are deserving of hell if it weren’t for the saving work of Christ on their behalf. Like David, they cry out to their heavenly Father, “For I know my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me” (Ps. 51:3). The knowledge of their own sin and God’s mercy in Christ humbles considerate Christians and makes them grateful to God as well as empathetic and helpful to others in their struggles.

7. They don’t seek to draw attention to themselves.

Considerate Christians recognize and are happy that all glory belongs to God, so they do not strive for personal accolades or higher status. They seek to die to their own selfish ambitions and follow Christ in all (Matt. 16:24; 1 Cor. 13:4–5). Considerate Christians rejoice with people in their joys and successes and comfort them in their sorrows and defeats (Rom. 12:15).

While no Christian behaves perfectly in this life, being considerate is a characteristic that all believers should strive to attain. May Christians be the most considerate people in the world.

No Repentance, No Gospel – CultureWatch

We have no biblical gospel if repentance is not part of it:

Christians have a message to proclaim – a gospel. It is imperative that we get the gospel message right, as there are many false gospels making the rounds. From the earliest days of Christianity we have been warned about this. We are to be on the alert for a fake Jesus and a fake gospel. As the Apostle Paul put it in 2 Corinthians 11:2-4:

I am jealous for you with a godly jealousy. I promised you to one husband, to Christ, so that I might present you as a pure virgin to him. But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ. For if someone comes to you and preaches a Jesus other than the Jesus we preached, or if you receive a different spirit from the one you received, or a different gospel from the one you accepted, you put up with it easily enough.

And all of God’s choice servants have echoed these concerns. Salvation Army founder William Booth warned about where we were heading as a different gospel crowds out the real gospel: “The chief danger of the twentieth century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, and heaven without hell.”

And Dietrich Bonhoeffer put it this way: “Cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline, Communion without confession, absolution without personal confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ, living and incarnate.”

Notice that a key theme found here is that of repentance. There is no Christian gospel without repentance. Everywhere in the New Testament this is clearly stated. John the Baptist preached repentance, Jesus preached repentance, and the disciples preached repentance. That is no getting around this.

Often we hear about those wishing to get back to New Testament Christianity. They want to fully align themselves with the early church and how it operated. That is a fair enough desire, but if we are serious about it, then that means we must proclaim the message that the early church proclaimed.

And obviously if you want to know about how the early church functioned and the sort of message it proclaimed, you simply need to read through the book of Acts. There we find the early church in action. And there we find the gospel of repentance preached constantly and routinely. Consider for example the following passages from Acts:

Acts 2:37-38 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”  Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

Acts 3:26 When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.

Acts 5:31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins.

Acts 8:22 Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord in the hope that he may forgive you for having such a thought in your heart.

Acts 11:18 When they heard this, they had no further objections and praised God, saying, “So then, even to Gentiles God has granted repentance that leads to life.”

Acts 13:24 Before the coming of Jesus, John preached repentance and baptism to all the people of Israel.

Acts 17:30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

Acts 19:4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”

Acts 20:21 I have declared to both Jews and Greeks that they must turn to God in repentance and have faith in our Lord Jesus.

Acts 26:20 First to those in Damascus, then to those in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and then to the Gentiles, I preached that they should repent and turn to God and demonstrate their repentance by their deeds.

As can be seen, repentance is a core topic of teaching and preaching for the early church. It was a non-negotiable necessity. Yet so much of the church today shies away from preaching repentance. Too many believers do not like the topic, or think that others will find it to be “offensive”.

But repentance is exactly what our non-Christian neighbours need to hear. We all need to hear about it. For without repentance there is no salvation. Without repentance we have no Christian gospel, but just sentimental and humanistic mush. We dare not refrain from believing it, preaching it, and teaching it.

Let me close with some of my favourite quotes on the issue of repentance. There would be many hundreds to choose from, but here are some that are especially good:

“The first word of the gospel is not ‘love.’ It is not even ‘grace.’ The first word of the gospel is ‘repent.’ From Matthew through the Revelation, repentance is an urgent and indisputable theme that is kept at the very forefront of the gospel message.” Richard Owen Roberts

“The business of evangelism is not just to solve people’s problems; psychology does that, the cults do that, many things do that. The thing that separates the gospel from every other teaching is that it is primarily a proclamation of God and our relationship to God. Not our particularproblems, but the same problem that has come to all of us, that we are condemned sinners before a holy God and a holy law. That is evangelism. It must, therefore, always put repentance first.” Martyn Lloyd-Jones

“I trust that sorrowful penitence does still exist, though I have not heard much about it lately. People seem to jump into faith very quickly nowadays. . . . I hope my old friend repentance is not dead. I am desperately in love with repentance; it seems to be the twin sister of faith. I do not myself understand much about dry-eyed faith; I know that I came to Christ by the way of weeping-cross. . . . When I came to Calvary by faith, it was with great weeping and supplication, confessing my transgressions, and desiring to find salvation in Jesus, and in Jesus only.” C. H. Spurgeon

“Repentance is almost a lost note in our preaching and experience and the lack of it is filling churches with baptized sinners who have never felt the guilt of sin or the need of a Saviour. . . . We are trying to get young people to say, ‘Here am I’ before they have ever said, ‘Woe is me!’” Vance Havner

Image of 'Return To Me': A Biblical Theology of Repentance (New Studies in Biblical Theology, Volume 35)‘Return To Me’: A Biblical Theology of Repentance (New Studies in Biblical Theology, Volume 35) by Array

“There are no impenitent people in heaven. All who enter have felt, mourned over, forsaken and sought pardon for sin in Christ.” J. C. Ryle

“It needs to be said that faith is not a mere optimistic feeling, any more than repentance is a mere regretful or remorseful feeling. Faith and repentance are both acts, and acts of the whole man. Faith is more than just credence; faith is essentially the casting and resting oneself and one’s confidence on the promises of mercy which Christ has given to sinners, and on the Christ who gave those promises. Equally, repentance is more than just sorrow for the past: repentance is a change of mind and heart, a new life of denying self and serving the Saviour as King in self’s place. Mere credence without trusting, and mere remorse without turning do not save. ‘The devils also believe, and tremble.’ ‘The sorrow of the world worketh death’.” (James 2:19; 2 Cor. 7:10).” J. I. Packer

“Some people do not like to hear much of repentance; but I think it is so necessary that if I should die in the pulpit, I would desire to die preaching repentance, and if out of the pulpit I would desire to die practicing it.” Matthew Henry

Biden Blames Russia For The Exact Same “Interference” That US Corporate Media Is Guilty Of | ZeroHedge

Authored by Michael Tracey via substack,

Deliberately vague weasel-word terms like “election interference”and/or “influence” gained such purchase in the past four-to-five years for a simple reason: the deliberate vagueness allowed people in power — elected officials, pundits, Intelligence Community functionaries — to claim unspecified expertise on a supposedly emerging range of threats.

The threats were portrayed as particularly scary because of their alleged potential to Undermine Our Democracy. Consequently, these power-wielding people acquired a potent tool in their arsenal to accuse political enemies, whether foreign or domestic, of contributing to the proliferation of new and scary threats. The accusations were so deliberately vague that it was almost impossible to ever rebut them; sometimes even retweeting a meme was sufficient to be implicated in a foreign plot to destroy the very foundations of America. If an act so trivial as clicking one’s mouse on a social media post could be spun as abetting a foreign-backed “interference” or “influence” scheme, then that created an endless number of booby-traps for you to walk into.

So there was nothing new about the suite of anti-Russia charges promulgated Thursday by the US federal government, and parroted as usual with maximum credulity across the US media ecosystem. The charges were again predicated on the idea that Russian “interference” and/or “influence” is an extremely foreboding test for the survival of US Democracy. Taking bold action, the Treasury Department levied sanctions against a bunch more Russians for their claimed nefarious behavior in carrying out this interference/influence — a fulfillment of Joe Biden’s oft-stated campaign pledge that under his watch, Russia would finally “pay a price” for allegedly engaging in such activities. Donald Trump, it was thought, had been appallingly lax in his resolve to confront this threat; now, a new sheriff is in town.

Leaving aside the question of whether it’s prudent to assume that Janet Yellen is suddenly in possession of a foolproof methodology for attributing the provenance of “cyber operations” to specific foreign individuals and nation-states, it’s worth emphasizing what exactly is being alleged in the statement. The Treasury Department document reads: “Outlets operated by Russian Intelligence Services focus on divisive issues in the United States, denigrate US political candidates, and disseminate false and misleading information.”

Noting that these same characteristics could be just as easily applied to US corporate media outlets is so blindingly self-evident as to almost be redundant. Were there not “outlets” during the 2020 election that were “focused” on “denigrating” Donald Trump? Or for that matter, Joe Biden? Do “divisive issues” not tend to be “focused on” by these same outlets as a basic precept of their core business model?

Controversy = clicks/views, which equals revenue.

Everyone knows this.

Yet when scary Russian outlets are said to employ this same logic in their own content-production enterprises, it magically becomes dangerous enough to justify all manner of punitive government and corporate action. Including but not limited to: censorship purges, tighter regulation of online speech, and, as Biden announced Thursday, sanctions and expulsion of diplomats. “Disseminating false and misleading information”? The entire US media just got caught “disseminating” a fake story about Russians putting bounties on the heads of US soldiers in Afghanistan. If you’re truly concerned about the dissemination of “false and misleading information” having deleterious effects on the health of US political culture, your first target should be CNN.

One of these supposedly-scary Russian “outlets” identified by the Treasury Department is the website SouthFront. (Gee, way to give them far more publicity than they could’ve possibly generated on their own. I’m sure more than .001% of Americans had heard of this obscure website before this week.) SouthFront is alleged to have committed the grave crime of having “sought to promote perceptions of voter fraud” after the 2020 election. I wrote extensively at the time about how the “perceptions of voter fraud” promoted by Trump and his media allies were mostly ill-founded, overblown, and illogical, and it’s true that consumers of fraud-obsessed media coverage often became more-than-a-little deranged. But that’s not the point: the point is whether or not promoting these theories constitutes some sort of terrifying “interference” that requires a forceful punitive response. In which case, the entirety of US right-wing media could be deemed as complicit, requiring vast state-backed retaliation (which may well be the long-term goal). Promoting ill-founded perceptions of political events might be bad, but it doesn’t generally rise to the level of Democracy-Threatening Existential Crisis unless you have some other motivation for raising it to that level.

In any event, Biden declared a “national emergency” with respect to this vague threat, on the ground that Russia had violated the “sacred” nature of US presidential elections by way of these website postings — even though the criteria invoked would apply to an infinitely wide array of US “outlets” that do exactly the same thing. Nonetheless, it’s henceforth an “emergency” to be on the lookout for irrelevant amateur websites like SouthFront. (Aside: Does anyone really view as “sacred” America’s multi-year presidential election rituals, into which billions of unregulated dollars are poured? Most Normies seem to be actively disdainful of presidential election melodrama and the attention/resources these rituals consume, rather than worshipful of their “sacredness.”)

In his remarks, Biden also introduced what is possibly an even vaguer term than “interference” or “influence” to describe this horrifyingly ever-present threat: Russia, he alleged, was guilty of “engagement in our elections.” And again, this “engagement” was said to consist of Russian Government-backed websites publishing posts about issues related to the 2020 US presidential election.

So now we have an official “national emergency” declared vis-a-vis Russia’s conduct in orchestrating website posts, which has in turn been lumped into another “emergency” that apparently encompasses the ongoing escalation of conflict in Eastern Ukraine — a geopolitical domain Joe Biden has always taken a keen interest in. And this is largely being received not as an ominous development in US relations with a nuclear-armed power, but instead as a cheerful sign that the US has returned to asserting its rightful global dominance.

One neat trick of this whole rhetorical framework is that foreign “interference,” “influence,” and “engagement” will obviously never be completely curtailed, especially if these things consist of internet postings. Therefore, the framework authorizes a perpetual war-like footing against Russia (or whatever country is next in the line of sight) which is especially convenient if you are interested in waging a New Cold War to garner whatever benefits (political, military, economic) you calculate comes with doing so. The rationale for keeping this ridiculous tit-for-tat going in perpetuity is clear — but don’t expect much clarity on that score from the US media, which always takes delight in blaming scary foreign entities for partaking in the exact same Democracy Undermining behavior that it’s guilty of itself.

CANDACE OWENS: What’s Happening At The Border Is Far Worse Than We’re Being Told | The Daily Wire

Author & host Candace Owens is seen on the set of

We’ve all read the headlines on the border crisis and seen the pathetic Biden administration tripping over itself trying to make us all believe it’s not as bad as the reports indicate. Well, I’m here to tell you that it’s far worse than the Biden-apologists in the media are telling us. And it’s been far worse than we’ve all thought for years.

My show this week is focused in part on immigration. Not wanting to just rehash information we’ve all heard, I thought I’d dig a little deeper and provide my audience with a more authentic account of the situation at the border. So, I reached out to a young girl I know who’s a DACA recipient and asked her if it would be possible for me to speak to her mother about how she first came into this country. Despite all of the debate and statistics on immigration circulating on the internet, Americans generally don’t understand how the process takes place. How do migrants actually get into this country illegally and why does it continue to happen at such a high rate? So I asked the girl’s mother and ended up having a conversation that absolutely blew my mind.

This woman started her journey to America in Guatemala 13 years ago. When she crossed the border illegally, she was a Guatemalan citizen. She has since married an American and has been granted a green card and thus legal status. Her first step required her handing over $3,000 to a drug cartel member, the entry fee for what would prove a harrowing journey that would cost some of the other travelers their lives.

A group of some 200 others trying to get into America, who had also been forced to fill the pockets of the cartel, met at a farm in Guatemala where they were picked up by a massive truck loaded with a lightweight good — plastic cups. The cartels, she said, make sure that the truck has something that’s lightweight because under the goods is a hollowed-out area into which the 200 migrants are packed. The first leg of the journey lasts around 24 hours, during which time all the travelers were given was a bottle of water. The woman told me that there was also a bucket in the back to go to the bathroom.

Over the course of that first leg of the trip, she said, the truck came to several checkpoints where people working for the Mexican government would spray the bottom of the truck with pepper spray, trying to see if there were any illegal aliens hidden inside. If the officials didn’t hear any coughing, they allowed the truck to pass. The coyotes, she said, would threaten to slit the throats of the passengers if they coughed. This routine happened about 10 times.

After that nightmarish ride, the migrants would be crammed into a house that she said would have hundreds of people in it and where they waited for over a week for a new transport to take them on the next leg of the journey.

Eventually, the group of migrants reached the point in which they had to walk through the desert. The woman told me that it took her group five days hiking, and at times running from Mexican authorities, through the desert to make it to the border. For that grueling trek, the migrants were handed backpacks containing just a couple of gallons of water and some meager portions of food. During the desert hike, she recalled how one man collapsed, saying he couldn’t go on any further. A woman also gave out during the brutal hike. The two were left to die out there while the coyotes pushed everyone else to keep moving.

When they reached the American border, she told me, they all breathed a sigh of relief. Once you actually hit American soil, you know you’re finally safe, she said. The threat — and consequences — of being caught is far more real on the Mexican side.

She crossed over in Arizona, where an SUV driven by an American was waiting for her group. The traffickers proceeded to pack 24 people into that vehicle, which then drove them all to Los Angeles to a house that held hundreds of people. Now, if you find yourself, like me, doubting the story because it all sounds so surreal, I’ll point you to a recent story that came out of California, where an SUV holding 25 illegal immigrants got into a horrific crash, leaving 13 migrants dead.

Once she arrived in Los Angeles, her family had to wire another $3,000 to the traffickers for her dangerous journey to finally end. The final payment received, the migrants were taken to various cities across the country. She told me that when she arrived in Virginia, she already had a job lined up for her at a national pizza franchise.

What I am describing to you is just one person’s story among millions, and, obviously, I cannot attest to all the details of it. But the larger takeaway is that what is happening at our border is not just happening at our border. It’s happening throughout the United States. It’s beyond a crisis. It’s a network of individuals perpetuating this ongoing humanitarian crisis — on this side of the border.

For years, I have been asking why the Mexican government isn’t doing anything about illegal immigration. Why are the Mexicans allowing these migrants to race through Mexico forcing us to work so hard to secure the border? But in this woman’s experience, it was the opposite: the migrants feared Mexican authorities far more than Americans, whom they generally felt were actually inviting them in. They were being welcomed by a highly organized network that provided them protection, a place to live and even a job.

When then-candidate Trump stood up and declared, “I’m going to build a wall,” the politicians and the news networks exploded with rage. They did not want that wall built. They still don’t want that wall built. Why? It’s because illegal immigration is actually a well-run business operation that operates the most efficiently on the American side of the border.

Left-wing activists and politicians are effectively sending out an invitation to migrants, offering sanctuary cities, hotel rooms, college to college, tuition, you name it. Who, we must ask, profits?

I don’t work for the United States government. I don’t work for the CIA, or the FBI or the DOJ. I simply asked a question of one woman — and what I learned laid out an entire network of criminal behavior. If I was able to learn all of that via a one-hour conversation, do you really believe that our Justice Department and FBI don’t know what’s going on?

It seems painfully obvious to me that the cartels aren’t just controlling the American borders, they’re also exerting control over aspects of American politics. It’s not a coincidence that at the very same time that tens of thousands of undocumented immigrants are walking across our border, Democrats are fighting tooth and nail to ensure that voter ID is not a requirement in this country. I think the cartels want the money, but the Democrats want the power. Me? I just want the truth.

[VIDEO] The Great Michelle Malkin Absolutely Destroys Lifetime “Mob Inciter” Maxine Waters – WayneDupree.com

Maxine Waters is back up to her old tricks.

It’s been a while since we’ve seen her incite violence, but she just made up for lost time by whipping a group of BLM protesters into an absolute frenzy.

Mad Max gave a rousing speech in Minnesota where she encouraged the crowd to “burn it all down” if Derek Chauvin isn’t convicted of the first-degree murder of George Floyd.

This certainly isn’t the best choice of words considering that there are already many cities burning across this nation.

Maxine is already facing a huge wave of criticism for inciting yet another mob, but no one has put her in her place better than Michelle Malkin, who actually has quite the history with ol’ Maxine.

Check it out:

If you didn’t catch it, that interview is from 2018, which goes to show how long Malkin has had Water’s number.

Although at this point it seems like everyone is going after Maxine, with many calling for her to be arrested for these comments – Majorie Taylor Greene took the punishment to a whole new level.

As The Hill reported, Majorie Taylor Greene is going after Maxine head-on and introduced a resolution today to expel her from Congress.

From The Hill

GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (Ga.) announced on Sunday that she plans to introduce a resolution to expel Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters(Calif.) from Congress.

Greene in a statement on Sunday said that she will “be introducing a resolution to expel Rep. Maxine Waters from Congress for her continual incitement of violence.”

The Republican lawmaker specifically targeted Waters for speaking to protesters at a demonstration in Brooklyn Center, Minn., on Saturday. Protests broke out in the city last week after police fatally shot 20-year-old Daunte Wright during a traffic stop on April 11.

Waters told reporters on Saturday that she is “going to fight with all of the people who stand for justice,” adding, “We’ve got to get justice in this country, and we cannot allow these killings to continue,” Fox News reported.

The killing of Daunte Wright comes as former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin is on trial on murder charges in the death of George Floyd last year. Floyd died after Chauvin knelt on his neck for several minutes during an arrest.

Good stuff!

This is what we need to do folks. Just keep railing against these violent liberals every chance we get.

Kevin McCarthy: I Will ‘Bring Action’ Against Maxine Waters For ‘Inciting Violence’ If Pelosi Doesn’t | The Daily Wire

WASHINGTON, DC - JUNE 25: U.S. House Minority Leader Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) speaks during his weekly news conference June 25, 2020 on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. McCarthy discuss various topics including the police reform bill.

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) demanded on Sunday that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) take action against Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) over remarks that Waters made over the weekend, otherwise he will be forced to take action.

“Maxine Waters is inciting violence in Minneapolis — just as she has incited it in the past,” McCarthy said in a statement. “If Speaker Pelosi doesn’t act against this dangerous rhetoric, I will bring action this week.”

McCarthy’s remarks come after Waters attended a protest on Saturday night in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, where police shot and killed a man last week after he tried to flee while being arrested. Waters’ remarks also come just days before a verdict will be reached in the Derek Chauvin case involving the death of George Floyd.

“We’re looking for a guilty verdict. We’re looking for a guilty verdict. And we’re looking to see if all of this [inaudible] that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd,” Waters said. “If nothing does not happen, then we know, that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice, but I am very hopefully and I hope that we’re going to get a verdict that will say guilty, guilty, guilty. And if we don’t, we cannot go away.”

When asked about what activists should do if Chauvin is not convicted, Waters said that they must “stay on the street.”

“And we’ve got to get more active. [We’ve] got to get more confrontational,” she said. “[We’ve] got to make sure that they know we mean business.”

The New York Post Editorial Board said that Waters was “trying to create a Civil War” and urged that Pelosi (D-CA) “should strip her of her committee assignments and move for a vote to remove Waters from office.”

Notable elected officials and political commentators also slammedWaters over her remarks:

  • Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX): “Democrats actively encouraging riots & violence. They want to tear us apart.” “‘We gotta stay on the street,’ Waters was recorded saying, adding that protesters needed ‘to get more confrontational’ & they should ignore the curfew in place.”
  • Matt Walsh, podcast host: “Maxine Waters is trying to intimidate a jury to influence the outcome of a murder trial. Every elected Republican in the country should be calling for her immediate arrest and removal from congress.”
  • Steven Crowder, podcast host: “If Trump was removed from Twitter AND Facebook for ‘inciting violence’ then Maxine Waters needs to be federally charged and impeached.”
  • Bryan Dean Wright, Democrat and former CIA officer: “Maxine Waters is a threat to the Republic.”
  • Gerry Callahan, podcast host: “Donald Trump was impeached and banned from all social media platforms for less.”
  • Kurt Schlichter, attorney and columnist: “This is an insurrection.”
  • Tim Pool, podcast host: “Maxine Waters says that Chauvin premeditated the murder of George Floyd and that if Chauvin is not convicted [of] a crime he wasn’t charged with they should get ‘more confrontational[.]’ More confrontational than burning down buildings?”

Latest VAERS Data Show Reports of Blood Clotting Disorders After All Three Emergency Use Authorization Vaccines – Global Research – Centre for Research on Globalization

VAERS data released today showed 795 reports related to blood clotting disorders with 400 attributed to Pfizer, 337 to Moderna and 56 to Johnson & Johnson between Dec. 14, 2020 and April 8, 2021.

Data released today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on the number of injuries and deaths reported to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) following COVID vaccines revealed reports of blood clots and other related blood disorders associated with all three vaccines approved for Emergency Use Authorization in the U.S. — Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson (J&J). So far, only the J&J vaccine has been paused because of blood clot concerns.

VAERS is the primary mechanism for reporting adverse vaccine reactions in the U.S. Reports submitted to VAERS require further investigation before a causal relationship can be confirmed.

Every Friday, VAERS makes public all vaccine injury reports received through a specified date, usually about a week prior to the release date. Today’s data show that between Dec. 14, 2020 and April 8, a total of 68,347 total adverse events were reported to VAERS, including 2,602 deaths — an increase of 260 over the previous week — and 8,285 serious injuries, up 314 since last week.

Form the 4/8/21 release of VAERS Data

Of the 2,602 deaths reported as of April 8, 27% occurred within 48 hours of vaccination, 19% occurred within 24 hours and 41% occurred in people who became ill within 48 hours of being vaccinated.

In the U.S., 174.9 million COVID vaccine doses had been administered as of April 8. This includes79.6 million doses of Moderna’s vaccine, 90.3 million doses of Pfizer and 4.9 million doses of the J&J COVID vaccine.

This week’s VAERS data show:

Reports of blood clotting disorders in VAERS

Children’s Health Defense queried the VAERS data for a series of adverse events associated with the formation of clotting disorders and other related conditions. VAERS yielded a total of 795 reports for all three vaccines from Dec. 14, 2020, through April 8.

Of the 795 cases reported, there were 400 reports attributed to Pfizer, 337 reports with Moderna and 56 reports with J&J — far more than the eight J&J cases under investigation, including the two additional cases added Wednesday.

As The Defender reported today, although the J&J and AstraZeneca COVID vaccines have been under the microscope for their potential to cause blood clots, mounting evidence suggests the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines also cause clots and related blood disorders. U.S. regulatory officials were alertedto the problem as far back as December 2020.

CDC ignores The Defender, no response after 39 days

According to the CDC’s website, “the CDC follows up on any report of death to request additional information and learn more about what occurred and to determine whether the death was a result of the vaccine or unrelated.”

On March 8, The Defender contacted the CDC with a written list of questions about reported deaths and injuries related to COVID vaccines. We requested information about how the CDC conducts investigations into reported deaths, the status of ongoing investigations reported in the media, if autopsies are being done, the standard for determining whether an injury is causally connected to a vaccine, and education initiatives to encourage and facilitate proper and accurate reporting.

After many attempts to get a response from the CDC, 22 days after our initial outreach a representative from the CDC’s Vaccine Task Force responded, saying the agency had never received our questions — even though the employees we talked to several times said their press officers were working through the questions we sent.

We provided the questions again and set a new deadline of April 7. We’ve reached out multiple times since, but the representative has not answered our emails or returned our calls.

On April 15 we called the CDC’s general media line again and were told they had our list of questions and were unsure why the representative told us she never received them. We were told the COVID response team would be informed and that we should follow up in a few days.

It has been 39 days since we first reached out and have yet to receive answers to our questions.

Johnson & Johnson paused over reports of blood clot

On April 15, The Defender reported that a healthy 43-year old man in Mississippi suffered a stroke hours after being vaccinated with J&J’s COVID vaccine. Brad Malagarie, father of seven, had received the vaccine a little after Noon and was found unresponsive by co-workers at his desk.

Also on April 15, the  Cincinnati Enquirer reported that the Ohio Department of Health is monitoring the investigation into what may have caused a 21-year-old University of Cincinnati student to die suddenly last Sunday, about a day after he received the J&J vaccine.

Alicia Shoults, a spokeswoman for the state health department, said the agency is waiting for the completion of a Hamilton County coroner’s report, and “if necessary,” further guidance from the CDC.

The two news stories came just days after federal health officials paused the J&J vaccine.

As The Defender reported April 13, the CDC and U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) called for a temporary but immediate halt to the use of J&J’s COVID vaccine while the agencies investigated the vaccine’s possible link to potentially dangerous blood clots.

In a joint statement, the agencies said the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) was reviewing clinical data gathered on six women, one who died, between the ages of 18 and 48 years who developed blood clots after receiving the single-dose J&J vaccine.

On April 14, the ACIP held an emergency meeting to vote on whether to lift the pause on J&J’s vaccine or change recommendations for its use. As The Defender reported, the ACIP postponed the vote, extending the pausepending further analysis of data relating to blood clots. The ACIP said it would reconvene for a vote in one week to 10 days.

That same day, J&J revealed two more cases of blood clots — one that occurred in a 25-year-old man who suffered a cerebral hemorrhage during a clinical trial and another case of deep-vein-thrombosis in a 59-year-old woman.

In its review of J&J’s submission for Emergency Use Authorization in February, the FDA initially urged further surveillance of a slight “numerical imbalance” in blood clotting events after receiving the shot. At the time, it was concluded there was “insufficient” data to determine “a causal relationship” with the vaccine and the drugmaker resumed the trial.

As The Defender reported April 12, the rollout of J&J’s COVID vaccine has not been smooth. At the beginning of the month the vaccine maker had to throw out 15 million doses of its vaccine after they were contaminated with AstraZeneca vaccine ingredients at an unapproved manufacturing plant in Baltimore.

The vaccine maker also has been plagued with shutdowns of its vaccine sites prior to the vaccine being paused, multiple reports of COVID breakthrough cases and criticism over its CEO’s $30 million pay package while the company pays out billions for its role in the opioid epidemic.

CDC, multiple states report ‘breakthrough’ COVID cases among fully vaccinated

Cases of fully vaccinated people getting COVID, referred to as “breakthrough” cases, continue to make news.

Calling it a “really good scenario,” the CDC yesterday reported 5,800 cases of COVID in fully vaccinated people. Of the 5,800 cases, 396 required hospitalization and 74 people died, the CDC said.

The CDC said it was “keeping a close eye” on the cases, but that breakthrough cases are to be expected. Tara Smith, a professor of epidemiology at the Kent State University College of Public Health in Ohio, told NBC News:

“This is a really good scenario, even with almost 6,000 breakthrough infections. Most of those have been mildly symptomatic or asymptomatic. That’s exactly what we were hoping for.”

On April 12, the Houston Health Department reported 142 breakthrough cases of COVID that occurred in fully vaccinated people since January, according to ABC 13 News. Vaccine recipients received either two doses of Moderna or Pfizer, or one dose of J&J. The report ruled out those who were said to have contracted the virus 45 days before their second scheduled shot date.

Houston Health Department said there were 2.46 positive cases out of every 10,000 fully-vaccinated people and it was unclear if those who tested positive contracted the original strand of COVID or a newer variant.

Last month, The Defender reported on breakthrough cases in Washington, Florida, South Carolina, Texas, New York, California and Minnesota. On April 6, The Defender reported on 246 breakthrough cases in Michigan, which included three people who died.

Children’s Health Defense asks anyone who has experienced an adverse reaction, to any vaccine, to file a report following these three steps.

Vast Stretches Of America Have Now Descended Into A State Of Deep Economic Hopelessness — The Economic Collapse

Even though the stock market has been booming and the corporate media is full of talk about “recovery”, there are many communities in the United States where a permanent atmosphere of despair seems to hang in the air.  The federal government gives us doctored numbers that show that the national unemployment rate is low, but in small towns all across the country it seems like almost everyone is either unemployed or working extremely low paying jobs.  Earlier this month, one such town was profiled by USA Today.  Even before the COVID pandemic came along, the little town of Ogdensburg, New York was deeply struggling, but now economic conditions have become extremely dire

Ogdensburg is tiny and desperately poor, so it experiences these national trends in concentrated form. The median house in this city of 10,000 people sells for $68,000, according to the U.S. Census. The average family earns $42,000 a year, and 2,300 residents live below the federal poverty line, giving Ogdensburg a poverty rate 75% higher than the rest of New York State.

Then the economy closed. The governments of Canada and the United States tried to limit the spread of COVID-19 by shutting the international border, including the curvy suspension bridge between Ogdensburg and Prescott, Ontario. In the small industrial park east of town, the few remaining warehouses and Canadian-owned factories shut down. The hospital in Ogdensburg furloughed 174 people. Most restaurants and grocery stores stayed open, primarily by firing every person they could.

Like millions of other Americans, most people living in Ogdensburg are just trying to find some way to survive month after month.

The fact that stock market investors are rolling in giant mountains of cash doesn’t matter to the citizens of Ogdensburg.  At this point the city government is “nearly bankrupt”, and the latest economic downturn has fueled “a spike in narcotics overdoses and deaths”

The economic collapse fueled further crises. Ogdensburg’s city government is nearly bankrupt, says City Manager Stephen Jellie. Stores that depend on customers crossing the border from Canada are nearly empty. The pandemic closed 12-step groups across the St. Lawrence Valley, causing a spike in narcotics overdoses and deaths.

Ogdensburg’s struggles started 62 years before the pandemic, when the opening of the St. Lawrence Seaway destroyed the city’s port. Now the city faces so many problems simultaneously, it’s difficult for people here to imagine what “recovery” even means.

Of course Ogdensburg is far from alone.

Similar articles could have been written about thousands of other towns and cities from coast to coast.  There is so much economic pain out there right now, and it is getting worse with each passing month.

As he drives to work each day, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell gets a firsthand view of the economic suffering that he has helped to cause.  Just two blocks away from his office, a tent city has sprung up that just keeps growing and growing

As he drove past the intersection of 21st and E streets in Northwest Washington, a 68-year-old man peered through the window, struck by an encampment of homeless people here that grew from 10 tents to 20 in the past year. Then 30. Now 40.

The people living in those tents had no idea that their burgeoning village kept this man, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, up at night, or that he kept thinking about them as he drove two blocks south to his office. Powell doesn’t know their names or backstories, either. But what he saw was clear. A visceral reminder of the uneven economic recovery. Right there in the Fed’s shadow.

Powell sure seems to know how to shower stock market investors with cash, but he appears to be powerless to do anything about the tent cities that are mushrooming all over the nation.

Unfortunately, the housing crisis in this country is only going to get worse.  As foreign governments, real estate investment companies and wealthy individuals gobble up properties at a feverish pace, millions upon millions of ordinary Americans are being priced out of the market.

This is particularly true for young adults.  At this point more of them have moved back home with their parents than ever before

The number of adults aged 18-34 living at home with their parents continues to accelerate to levels not seen in decades, according to Goldman Sachs, citing US Census Bureau data which found that just over 33% have returned to the nest.

And while real estate in major markets is booming, the percentage of young adults in the ‘boomerang generation’ – who leave the nest only to return years later – has taken a dive, as unemployment and punishing (self-inflicted) student debt has forced many younger Americans out of the housing market.

But at least the financial markets have been doing well, right?

If you believe that this financial bubble is real, you are just deceiving yourself.  It isn’t going to last, but the social decay that is rapidly growing all over America will.

Earlier today, I came across an article that claimed that the “knockout game” has now returned to New York City

Areas of the city which were generally thought to be safe, such as Midtown Manhattan, Chelsea and the leafy Upper West Side, have all been locations on random assaults in recent months.

Some are describing the assaults as proof of the return of the so-called ‘knockout game.’

And civil unrest continues to rage in many of our major cities on an almost nightly basis.  In fact, rioters in Portland set an Apple Store on fire on Friday night

Despite advance warnings, Portland Police Bureau officers were powerless to stop another night of rioting, arson, and gunfire carried out by Antifa. Rioters set multiple fires and engaged in drive-by gunfire.

Antifa rioters set an Apple Store on fire Friday night during the third declared riot in five days. The fire was one of the multiple fires Portland police officers were powerless to prevent.

Didn’t those rioters know that Apple is a “woke” company?

Sadly, those involved in the rioting, looting and violence are not going to check whether you are “woke” or not when they come to your neighborhood either.

As I have warned for a very long time, civil unrest in the United States is going to rise to absolutely horrific levels.

A lot of people out there expected the civil unrest to go away once Joe Biden got into the White House, but that obviously hasn’t happened.

As economic conditions deteriorate, people are only going to get even angrier, and the rest of the world will watch with great interest as American cities burn.

The Joe Biden Who Never Was › American Greatness

Biden is proving the Biden he always was—as incompetent as Jimmy Carter, without the latter’s probity. He may prove as corrupt as Bill Clinton yet without his animal energy.

These are the most radical first three months of a presidency since 1933, the most divisive—and certainly the most dangerous. And its catalyst is the myth of ol’ Joe from Scranton who has unleashed furies and hatreds never quite seen in modern American history.

April 18 Evening Quotes of The Day

Thinking Any Service Is Good Enough for God
Deuteronomy 15:21; 17:1; Malachi 1:6–14

Men have naturally such slight thoughts of the majesty and law of God that they think any service is good enough for him, and conformable to his law. The dullest and deadest times we think fittest to pay God a service in. When sleep is ready to close our eyes, and we are unfit to serve ourselves, we think it a fit time to open our hearts to God. How few morning sacrifices God has from many persons and families! Men leap out of their beds to their carnal pleasures or worldly employments, without any thought of their Creator and Preserver, or any reflection upon his will as the rule of our daily obedience.

Satan Has His Miracles
Exodus 7:10–12, 22; 8:7, 18; Deuteronomy 13:1–3; John 7:18; 8:50; Acts 8:9–13; Revelation 19:20

The mark of sound doctrine given by our Savior himself is its tendency to promote the glory not of men, but of God. Our Savior having declared this to be the test of doctrine, we are in error if we regard as miraculous works that are used for any other purpose than to magnify the name of God. And it becomes us to remember that Satan has his miracles, which, although they are tricks rather than true wonders, are still such as to delude the ignorant and unwary.

April 18 Evening Verse of The Day

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_0658.jpg

4:10 The name “Jabez” literally means “he afflicts, gives pain.” He was asking God not to allow his name to characterize his destiny. In the ancient Near East, names were often associated with the character of a person, or of a desirable or undesirable destiny.[1]

4:10 Jabez prayed a personal prayer, asking God for his blessing. He wanted more land, he wanted God’s hand to be with him, and he wanted God to keep him from harm. Nothing in this passage indicates that we should pray these same words, let alone that we should pray them as if they represented a formula for blessing; instead, Jabez’s prayer is an example for us in its honesty and fervency.[2]

4:10 And God granted what he asked Jabez’s prayer for a larger border serves as a reminder to the postexilic community that God answers prayers and is able to bring blessing instead of pain.[3]

4:10 — And Jabez called on the God of Israel .… God granted him what he requested.

Jabez lived an “honorable” life (1 Chr. 4:9) and made specific prayer requests to God—and the Lord heard him and answered his prayers. Prayer is life’s greatest time saver.[4]

10 The final line of Jabez’s prayer may be better construed along the lines of “so that I will not cause pain” (cf. NKJV) rather than “so that I will be free from pain.” Pechawer suggests that the prayer request of Jabez be translated, “If you would only bless me, then enlarge my territory that your hand may be with me, and provide me with pastureland so that I will not be in distress.” This translation suggests that Jabez’s prayer request had a single focus related to ample pastureland (see L. Pechawer, The Lost Prayer of Jabez [Joplin, Mo.: Mireh, 2001]).[5]

April 18 Afternoon Quotes of The Day

Praying for Truth Better than Contending about It
John 18:37–38; Romans 15:30

We stand at better advantage to find truth, and keep it also, when devoutly praying for it, than fiercely wrangling and contending about it: disputes toil the soul, and raise the dust of passion; prayer sweetly composes the mind, and lays the passions which disputes draw forth; and I am sure a man may see further in a still, clear day, than in a windy and cloudy. When a person talks much, and rests little, we have great cause to fear his brain will not long hold; and truly, when a person shall be much in talking and disputing about truth, without a humble spirit in prayer to be led into it, God may justly punish that man’s pride with a spiritual frenzy in his mind, that he shall not know error from truth.

Ritzema, E. (Ed.). (2012). 300 Quotations for Preachers. Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press.

Do Not Be Afraid of Others’ Opinions
Matthew 10:20; Mark 13:11; Luke 12:12; John 21:22–23

Fear not to appear little and contemptible, or to be called by men fools and madmen; but announce penance in simplicity, trusting in Him who overcame the world by humility; it is He that will speak in you by His Spirit. Let us take care that we do not lose the kingdom of heaven for any temporal interest, and that we never despise those who live otherwise than we do. God is their master, as he is ours, and he can call them to himself by other ways.

Did Iran order a drone attack on the US in Iraq?
A drone attack last week on Erbil in northern Iraq’s autonomous Kurdish region has all the hallmarks of an Iranian-backed attack. Drones have been used by Iran’s proxies in Yemen, and Tehran has exported them to partners in Iraq, Syria and Lebanon. Biden Finally Admits There’s A “Crisis” At The Border | ZeroHedge News

After months of his administration downplaying chaos at the southern US border which started after the 2020 election, President Biden has finally admitted that what’s happening is indeed a ‘crisis.’

Migrants enter the United States near Yuma, AZ

In Saturday comments during an off-the-cuff Q&A with reporters in Wilmington, Deleware after his first game of golf as president, Biden said: We’re going to increase the number [of refugees allowed into the country],” adding “The problem was that the refugee part was working on the crisis that ended up on the border with young people,” according to the New York Post.

“We couldn’t do two things at once,” he added. “But now we are going to increase the number.”

The Post translates:

In his somewhat garbled comment, Biden seemed to be saying that the strain of handling the influx of migrant children has overtaxed the nation’s immigration authorities — making it impossible for them to handle an increase in authorized refugees as well.

On Friday, hours after Biden signed an executive order retaining the Trump administration’s 15,000-person cap on refugee admissions for this year, White House press secretary Jen Psaki issued a hasty announcement saying that the White House will unveil an undisclosed higher cap on May 15.

The sudden switcheroo came after progressive Democrats, led by Reps. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), excoriated the initial decision on social media.

By using the word “crisis” – possibly on accident – Biden has now given the press tomatoes to pelt White House spox Jen Psaki during Q&A, after the administration avoided using the term for months.

In March alone, 172,000 migrants were arrested after illegally entering the United States – a 15-year record which has overwhelmed US Customs and Border Patrol.

Perhaps Biden shouldn’t have promised illegal migrants the world during the 2020 US election. Virtue signaling has consequences.
