
Several people were arrested after a COVID-sceptics protest descended into chaos in Berlin on Sunday. Police clashed with protesters in Berlin city centre. Germany has eased most of the restrictions this summer, but some are still in place – such as mandatory mask-wearing in the public transport and indoor spaces – as according to the Robert Koch Institute, the fourth wave of the pandemic has already begun in the country. The German government said on Sunday the number of new cases could soar to 100,000 a day in about two months unless many more people get vaccinated, while those who decide not to may face restrictions.
