“He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
As one nation America mourns the loss of our brave and brilliant American servicemembers, in a savage and barbaric terrorist attack in Afghanistan. These noble American warriors laid down their lives in the line of duty. They sacrifice themselves for the country that they loved, racing against time to rescue their fellow citizens from harm’s way.
They died as American heroes, and our nation will honor their memory forever. I want to express my deepest condolences to the families of those we have lost. Today all Americans grieve alongside you. Together we also pray that God will heal the other courageous American servicemembers who were wounded in this heinous attack. In addition, our hearts are with the families of all the innocent civilians who died. And with the many men women and children who were terribly injured in this act of evil.
This tragedy should never have taken place, it should never have happened. And it would not have happened if I were your president. Over the past few weeks, I know that many Americans have felt profound sorrow and even pain, watching the events taking place in Afghanistan. And perhaps none more so than the veterans of that 20 Year War. many of them answered the call proudly and without hesitation, after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Every American who served in Afghanistan has made tremendous sacrifices for our country.
On behalf of your fellow citizens, I want you to know that those sacrifices were not made in vain. We know what you did. We know how brave you were, and we thank you. we salute you and we honor you for all time. I hope that every American will join me in continuing to pray for the safe return of all US citizens and soldiers from Afghanistan in the coming days. Thank you. God bless you and God bless America.
This disaster would have never happened if we had a legitimate leader. President Trump does not fear evil.
Look at where “The most secure election in U.S. history” has gotten us.
There are certain moments that just make you want to cry. The bombings in Kabul that killed 13 U.S. troops and at least 90 Afghans didn’t have to happen. If we didn’t have completely and utterly incompetent political leaders and completely and utterly incompetent military leaders, things could have turned out very differently. The end of a 20 year war is being capped off in humiliating fashion, and nobody is going to be afraid of the United States after this. And that is actually a really bad thing, because fear of U.S. retribution has kept China, Russia, North Korea, Iran and a whole host of terror groups largely in check for the past several decades. Now that the U.S. is seemingly unable to play the “restrainer” role any longer, the stage is set for tremendous global instability.
For years, our generals were telling us that the Taliban had been defeated.
Obviously, that wasn’t even close to the truth.
And ISIS had supposedly been bombed into oblivion, but apparently that wasn’t true either.
Everyone knew that having so many evacuees crammed into such a small area would be a really tempting target, and our leaders were depending on the Taliban (the guys we have been shooting at for 20 years) to protect us.
Needless to say, that was a recipe for disaster, and that is precisely what we got.
Speaking to the American people in the wake of a devastating terror attack at the Kabul airport that left scores dead on Thursday — including numerous U.S. troops — President Biden promised the U.S. would strike back against those responsible.
“To those who carried out this attack, as well as anyone who wishes America harm, know this — we will not forgive, we will not forget, we will hunt you down and make you pay,” the president said in a somber White House address.
Yes, I am sure that they are shaking in their boots.
At this point, nobody is afraid of our “woke military” and the snowflake generals that are leading them.
The head of U.S. Central Command was asked if the Taliban allowed the ISIS terrorists to get close to the Marines, and “there’s a failure somewhere” was the best that he could come up with in response…
The commander of U.S. Central Command said Thursday he did not know if the Taliban — whose members the U.S. was relying on to screen individuals getting to the airport — let Islamic State suicide bombers get through and conduct at least two bombings that have so far killed 12 Marines and injured 15 more.
“Clearly if they were able to get up to the Marines…at the entry point of the base, there’s a failure somewhere,” said Marine Gen. Kenneth McKenzie at a press briefing on Thursday.
We know that more ISIS terrorists are lurking in the vicinity right now.
So will there be additional attacks in the days ahead?
One source told Fox News that it is “likely” that there will be more…
A source briefed on the situation in Kabul told Fox News that some Americans stranded in Afghanistan will likely be left behind after Thursday’s bombings.
The source told Fox News that “hundreds” of ISIS-K fighters remain in the vicinity of the Kabul airport and that the attacks are “likely to continue.”
Hearing that “some Americans stranded in Afghanistan will likely be left behind” should make your blood boil.
What in the world is wrong with our leaders?
Trump was impeached over a phone call. How much more does Biden deserve to get impeached if he leaves Americans behind in the hands of the Taliban?
U.S. officials in Kabul gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to grant entry into the militant-controlled outer perimeter of the city’s airport, a choice that’s prompted outrage behind the scenes from lawmakers and military officials.
The move, detailed to POLITICO by three U.S. and congressional officials, was designed to expedite the evacuation of tens of thousands of people from Afghanistan as chaos erupted in Afghanistan’s capital city last week after the Taliban seized control of the country. It also came as the Biden administration has been relying on the Taliban for security outside the airport.
Some are calling this a “kill list”, and that is exactly how the Taliban could choose to view it once all U.S. military forces are gone for good.
And thanks to our recklessness, Taliban fighters are going to be armed to the teeth as they begin their new reign…
A government watchdog group says the U.S. military is leaving behind 75,000 vehicles, 600,000 weapons and 208 aircraft in Afghanistan as forces evacuate the country after a 20-year war.
We’ve made the Taliban into a major U.S. arms dealer for the next decade,” said Adam Andrzejewski, CEO of Open the Books. “They now control 75,000 military vehicles. This is about 50,000 tactical vehicles, 20,000 Humvees they control about 1,000 mine-resistant vehicles, and even about 150 armored personnel carriers.”
To make matters worse, you and I paid for all of that equipment.
How can any of the brass at the Pentagon keep their jobs after such a debacle?
I just keep looking at those numbers and I keep wondering how our military leaders could possibly be so grossly incompetent.
And the rest of the world is watching.
If a ragged group of opium dealers and goat herders can absolutely humiliate the once mighty U.S. military, why should anyone else ever be afraid of us ever again?
What the Taliban has pulled off is going to greatly inspire terror organizations all over the globe, and it is going to embolden America’s most prominent enemies.
I think that the Biden administration was hoping that withdrawing from Afghanistan would be a move toward peace, but instead their incompetence has set the stage for more war.
As America is humiliated in Afghanistan, there have been lots of news stories about how China has been practicing for an invasion of Taiwan…
China’s long-standing threats to invade Taiwan would require the biggest amphibious invasion in human history — and analysts say recent military activities, including exercises using commercial ferries, appear designed to practice exactly that.
If you think that global supply chains are messed up now, just wait until that happens.
I know that a lot of people are cheering the fact that things are becoming more unstable geopolitically, but this new period of instability will not end well.
For decades, the United States dealt with everyone else from a position of strength.
But now the rest of the world can see that the emperor doesn’t have any clothes, and a power vacuum will always be filled.
Here is a question that seems like a no-brainer to me: With the absolute hellhole that is Afghanistan right now, who would any sane person prefer leading the free world at this point? The choices are these: A decisive, no-nonsense leader like Trump, or a mentally-enfeebled, wishy-washy woke-wonder like Biden?
As I write this, Afghanistan is in complete freefall, and Sleepy Joe is unable and unwilling to do anything about it. We now have terror attacks occurring with impunity, killing hundreds of people, including American servicemen. We now have thousands of people trapped behind enemy lines with no hope of getting out. We now have one of the worst debacles in American foreign policy in decades.
This may well become the largest mass-hostage situation we have seen – perhaps ever. And with billions of dollars’ worth of high-tech military equipment (including Black Hawk helicopters) simply left behind, and now in the hands of our enemies, this is just the beginning of hell on earth – not only in Afghanistan but around the world.
And on top of all this we now have this shocking headline from Politico: “U.S. officials provided Taliban with names of Americans, Afghan allies to evacuate”. The article begins:
U.S. officials in Kabul gave the Taliban a list of names of American citizens, green card holders and Afghan allies to grant entry into the militant-controlled outer perimeter of the city’s airport, a choice that’s prompted outrage behind the scenes from lawmakers and military officials.
Hey, what could go wrong? The Taliban are fully trustworthy, are they not? Commentator Rod Dreher says this about the situation:
At what point does incompetence become evil? We are there. The United States government gave these savage cutthroats a list of our people to kill! Who did it? Who? Name names. Fire people. Salt the earth of their reputations forever! I don’t know that I’ve ever been more ashamed of who we are as a nation. The Biden administration trusted the Taliban, and because of that, people who trusted America will die.
People, listen to me: the answer here is not “vote Republican”. It is not to tolerate this appalling level of stupidity, incompetence, and corruption at the highest levels of our military. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was overwhelmingly confirmed to lead the Pentagon. Is he going to fire anyone for this debacle? Will Gen. Mark Milley, the Trajan of the Woke, keep his job as Joint Chiefs head?
The fact that Congress has taken no action despite the revelations of institutionalized serial mendacity on Afghanistan highlighted in the Afghanistan Papers shows you how little they care about genuine accountability. They were lied to for years, their money was misspent, and a lot of American lives were lost — and now, a lot of lives of Afghans foolish enough to trust the competence and moral decency of the US Government — so maybe they could muster up more than a yawn at this conduct.
He goes on to show how this will impact the entire free West:
I know a lot of Republicans are going to want to blame this entirely on the Biden Administration. I will not lift a finger to defend it, but I insist that we not let the Pentagon and State Department brass off the hook. This is a failure across the board of our leadership class.
You know what’s going to happen now, don’t you? There is going to be a mass exodus of Afghans, mostly men, to Europe. Europe will be swamped with these migrants. Germany, led by the retiring Christian Democrat Angela Merkel, opened its doors to a million refugees from the Syrian war. Merkel is retiring, and her Christian Democratic party is now behind the Social Democrats and the Greens in polls. It is likely at this point that Germany will be governed by a Social Democrat-Green coalition. That means open doors, and a likely civilizational catastrophe for Europe.
All this should never have been allowed to happen. But many people who are still able to think straight warned last year that a Biden Presidency would not only be disastrous for America, but for the rest of the West. We are now seeing this being played out on a massive and shocking scale.
While the American military is still among the best in the world, we need leadership right now. But there is none to be found in the White House. All we have there is an old man with increasing senility who runs away from press conferences, afraid to answer questions.
There is no leadership and no accountability with this morally and mentally decrepit Commander in Chief. The disaster we see unfolding right before our very eyes should result in heads rolling, starting from the top. Biden should resign immediately, along with other top brass who have been responsible for this tragedy in Afghanistan.
The situation is so bad that for the first time since Biden took office, even some of the most sycophantic mainstream media personnel are beginning to turn on Biden. Even they are now starting to ask some belated hard questions. It is a pity that it has taken Americans coming home in body bags before some of them have started to wake up.
What will happen in the days ahead will be an utter nightmare. Biden is still insisting on his arbitrary August 31 date for a complete withdrawal. There is no way that this will be possible, and so many will be left behind – not just Americans but other Allies, as well as so many Afghans who have been loyal to us.
I tremble for the future of the world. As long as total incompetents like Biden are in control of things, we have no future as a free West. Yes, as a believer, I know that there are much greater powers, and God is in control. Despite complete losers like Biden, at the end of the day justice will prevail, and good will triumph over evil.
But in the meantime, there will be massive amounts of suffering, bloodshed and death found not just in the Middle East but throughout the world. The enemies of America and the West now know they will have a free run. America will not be able to oppose their moves as they once again engage in global terrorism and jihad with renewed vigour and bloodlust.
What to do? We can pray at least. But the future looks as bleak now as at anytime in my sixty-plus years. If this is how America and the West come crashing down, well, then so be it. But until I am certain that this must be the case, I will continue to speak out. And I will continue to pray for all this.
Christ and His Cross Part in Heaven 2 Timothy 3:12; Revelation 7:17; 21:4
Christ and His cross are not separable in this life; nevertheless Christ and His cross part at heaven’s door, for there is no room for crosses in heaven. One tear, one sigh, one sad heart, one fear, one loss, one thought of trouble, cannot find lodging there. They are but the marks of our Lord Jesus down in this wide inn, and stormy country, on this side of death. Sorrow and the saints are not married together; or, suppose it were so, heaven would make a divorce.

Description:Eschatology—or the study of the “last days”—is full of heated debates. In this message, R.C. Sproul looks to Jesus’ own words to bring clarity to this topic. This is the 1st in a series of messages by Dr. Sproul on the last days.
Christians are those who are ‘looking for the appearance of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ’ (Titus 2:13). Yet, has the church today lost faith in the hope of his second coming? There is an indissoluble link between faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and belief in his second coming.
The ‘second coming’
The phrase ‘second coming’ is the term most Christians associate with Jesus’ glorious return. However, the nearest we come to such wording in the Bible is, ‘he will appear a second time’ (Heb. 9:28). Rather, the three words most frequently used to describe Jesus’ return are:
parousia – generally translated ‘coming’,
apocalypse – meaning ‘revelation’,
epiphany – which refers to an ‘appearing’.
The Old Testament does not distinguish between Christ’s first and second comings but speaks in terms of the ‘last days’, which denote the period of time between Jesus’ incarnation and his second coming.
The New Testament, once it has recounted the history of Christ’s first coming, is replete with the prominence, certainty and imminence of Jesus’ second coming. The Lord’s return is mentioned over 300 times in the 260 chapters of the New Testament and in every New Testament book, except Galatians. On the eve of his departure, Christ comforted his disciples with his promised return, the apostles preached it as a matter calling for urgent action, and taught its daily relevance (John 14:1-3; Acts 3:20-21; 2 Pet. 3:11-12).
Our Lord said, ‘concerning that day or hour no one knows, but the Father only’ (Matt. 24:36). A Christian knows that faith faces a challenge in keeping alive a balanced view on this ‘open secret’. Our faith has to wrestle with the unambiguous way Jesus pronounced his return, and it was taught by the apostles, with faithfully understanding the enigmatic, inexplicable and sometimes opaque biblical teaching on the manner of his return.
The enigmatic nature of Jesus’ second coming is likened to that of a ‘thief in the night’ – completely unexpected. How disturbing a thought is that? This is how Jesus himself says he will come again. In contrast, Paul tells the Thessalonians they are those who ‘wait for his Son from heaven’ (1 Thess. 1:10) – a deliberate act. They are to be ready. How does one expectantly wait for the unexpected?
The inexplicable nature of our Lord Jesus’ appearance is that it will be a unique, universally visible, sudden, personal and bodily appearance (Rev. 1:7; John 14:3; Acts 1:11; Heb. 9:28). How does one explain that? Which one of us can get their temporal, earth-bound minds around it? Faith has to grasp that which reason and logic struggle to perceive.
The chronology of events leading to Jesus’ return is opaque. When will the moment come when the gospel has been preached to every nation (Matt. 24:14)? How will the great tribulation, the great apostasy, the conversion of Israel and the man of sin come together (Matt 24:29; 2 Thess. 2:3; Rom. 11:26; 2 Thess. 2:4)? Are we to expect these events to occur simultaneously or do they flow out of each other?
The truth is the Bible’s perspicuity reveals a mystery, the details of which we cannot fathom. Faith’s certain expectation of Jesus’ return should not lead to speculation about how and when he will come, for the former galvanises faith whilst the latter detracts from hope’s certainty.
How then should faith embed our Lord’s second coming into our daily lives? First, let faith keep fresh in our hearts the hope that Jesus’ appearing will be the revelation of God’s glory. It will be the climax of the Father’s redemptive work, the completion of the Spirit’s work of sanctification and the finality of Jesus’ gathering in of his church and ushering in of the kingdom. It will be that moment when God will be seen to be all in all, and his glory manifested.
Faith’s hope keeps alive the wonderful personal implications of that glorious event. What a change Christians will know! The average person blinks twelve times a minute and one blink lasts a third of a second; yet in the blink of an eye, believers will be changed! A personal change that will see them witnessing death defeated, mortality swallowed up in immortality, a complete victory won and a ring-side seat to view the deliverance of creation into the glorious liberty of God’s children (1 Cor. 15:51-56; Rom. 8:21).
Faith’s hope reflects on the joy of the completion of being made Christ-like. The life of the Christian is empty and aimless without the prospect of our Lord’s return and our own resurrection, for if our hope is in this life alone, ‘we are of all men most pitiable’ (1 Cor. 15:19). The prospect of seeing Jesus face to face is the primary cause of motivation in sanctification, for, ‘everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure’ (1 John 3:3). It is the spring of a patient endurance in living Christ-circumspect lives, as we recall, ‘what manner of persons ought we to be in holy conduct and godliness’ (2 Pet. 3:11).
Teach me to live that I may dread
The grave as little as my bed;
Teach me to die, that so may I
Rise glorious at the judgement day.
‘The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!” And let the one who hears say, “Come!”’ (Rev. 22:17).
A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench. (Isaiah 42:3)
Then I may reckon upon tender treatment from my Lord. Indeed, I feel myself to be at best as weak, as pliant, as worthless as a reed. Someone said, “I don’t care a rush for you”; and the speech, though unkind, was not untrue. Alas! I am worse than a reed when it grows by the river, for that at least can hold up its head. I am bruised—sorely, sadly bruised. There is no music in me now; there is a rift which lets out all the melody. Ah, me! Yet Jesus will not break me; and if He will not, then I mind little what others try to do. O sweet and compassionate Lord, I nestle down beneath Thy protection and forget my bruises!
Truly I am also fit to be likened to “the smoking flax,” whose light is gone, and only its smoke remains. I fear I am rather a nuisance than a benefit. My fears tell me that the devil has blown out my light and left me an obnoxious smoke, and that my Lord will soon put an extinguisher upon one. Yet I perceive that though there were snuffers under the law, there were no extinguishers, and Jesus will not quench me; therefore, I am hopeful. Lord, kindle me anew and cause me to shine forth to Thy glory and to the extolling of Thy tenderness.
“And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” Galatians 6:9
When he felt the pop in his leg, he knew it wasn’t good. He said it felt like somebody had literally snapped his leg in half. The American Olympic sprinter had half a lap to go in the first leg of the 4X400 meter relay.
He also had a choice to make, keep running or stop and lose the race. To him it was not much of a choice. Manteo Mitchell finished the lap and limped to the sideline to watch his team finish the race and qualify for the finals.
A few hours later, doctors confirmed that he had run the late 200 meters with a broken left fibula. It was a complete break.
He said that he had to finish because he was running for his country and in a relay three other runners were depending on him. But he credited something more than simple adrenaline for pushing him the rest of the way around the track.
“Faith, focus, finish. Faith focus finish. That’s the only thing I could say to myself,” he said after the race. He said he was in the race and just finish and do what he was called to do.
Sometimes it looks so easy to give up in the face of adversity. The Bible is replete with advice on keeping going when we are tempted to give up.
What should we do when we feel like giving up? Be honest with God about our feelings. God has promised strength when we need it. Giving up often causes us to miss the best God has to offer.
When our hearts condemn us, we should not give up. God’s presence is not always a glorious, fantastic, awesome display – He might be in a still small voice. You are not alone. Though we make mistakes, we are still in God’s hands. Mistakes happen and sometimes we fall – don’t give up, get back up. Nothing can separate us from God’s love.
Trust God and wait on Him. God will not fail you in your day of adversity. Nothing is apparently more helpless, yet really more invincible, than the soul that feels its nothingness and relies wholly on God.
Never give up in pursuing God’s calling on your life. It’s in the Bible.

Use temporal things but desire eternal things. You cannot be satisfied with any temporal goods because you were not created to enjoy them. Even if you possessed all created things you could not be happy and blessed; for in God, Who created all these things, your whole blessedness and happiness consists.

Corinth was a religiously diverse city. In the congregation of Corinth, there were members who came out of idol-worshipping families. They were brought to faith in Christ, but many of their extended family members were still worshipping false gods. The temptation is real for new believers to participate in the idol feasts. Their new commitment to Jesus is often challenged by family and friends who want them to participate in their temple feasts.
In their relationships with friends and family, Christians are not to compromise their commitment to Jesus. This also means not participating in idol feasts. By participating, one identifies himself with idols and demons. Christians must not participate in the Lord’s Table and in the table of demons. True, an idol is not real; it is not a god at all. But demons are real. Those who worship idols have fellowship with demons.
By faith, you belong to Christ and to a new family. He does not want half of you. He wants the whole of you because He gave Himself for you. You would not want to make God jealous, would you? Peter Leithart writes, “History is God’s work of rescuing His bride from the table of demons to bring us to the marriage supper of the Lamb.” At the Lord’s Table, we share in proclaiming our faith in Christ Who shed His blood for our sins. By eating the bread, we share in the body of Christ. In Christ, we are united to Him and to one another.
Suggestions for prayer
Perhaps you struggle with participating in both the Lord’s Supper and idol feasts. Pray for God’s grace and courage. He gives to those who ask! Pray for those you know who struggle with this. Ask the Lord for wisdom to encourage your brother or sister in Christ.

Early COVID Patient Samples From Wuhan Had Genetically Modified Virus Similar To Canadian Lab’s: Report Samples from early Wuhan COVID-19 patients show the presence of genetically modified Henipah virus, an American scientist has found. Henipah was one of the two types of viruses sent to China by Chinese-born scientists from a Canadian laboratory at the center of a controversy over the firing of the scientists and collaboration with Chinese military researchers. It is not clear whether the virus found in the Chinese samples is related to the virus samples sent by the Canadian lab, which were shipped in late March 2019. The finding was confirmed for The Epoch Times by another qualified scientist. What they found, he says, are the results of what could likely be contamination from different experiments in the lab making their way into the samples, as well as evidence of Henipah virus.
