“He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust to God’s providence to lead him aright.” – Blaise Pascal. "There is but one straight course, and that is to seek truth and pursue it steadily" – George Washington letter to Edmund Randolph — 1795. We live in a “post-truth” world. According to the dictionary, “post-truth” means, “relating to or denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion and personal belief.” Simply put, we now live in a culture that seems to value experience and emotion more than truth. Truth will never go away no matter how hard one might wish. Going beyond the MSM idealogical opinion/bias and their low information tabloid reality show news with a distractional superficial focus on entertainment, sensationalism, emotionalism and activist reporting – this blogs goal is to, in some small way, put a plug in the broken dam of truth and save as many as possible from the consequences—temporal and eternal. "The further a society drifts from truth, the more it will hate those who speak it." – George Orwell “There are two ways to be fooled. One is to believe what isn’t true; the other is to refuse to believe what is true.” ― Soren Kierkegaard
As the nation debates whether children should be forced to wear face masks at school, Dr. Anthony Fauci is now advocating for COVID-19 vaccination to be a condition of attending school.
What are the details?
Fauci, chief medical adviser to President Joe Biden, said on CNN’s “State of the Union” the COVID-19 vaccine should be added to the list of vaccines that most schools require students to have before admission.
“I believe that mandating vaccines for children to appear in school is a good idea,” Fauci said.
“This is not something new. We have mandates in many places in schools, particularly public schools, that if, in fact, you want a child to come in, we have done this for decades and decades, requiring polio, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis,” he continued. “So this would not be something new, requiring vaccinations for children to come to school.”
Fauci, however, conceded that he understands “that a lot of people will be pushing back against” making COVID-19 vaccination a requirement for school attendance.

Currently, the Food and Drug Administration has approved the COVID-19 vaccine for people age 12 and older. The age restriction preventing children under 12 from receiving the vaccine complicates Fauci’s proposal.
However, in a separate interview on ABC’s “This Week,” Fauci predicted the FDA could give clearance by October for children younger than 12 to receive the vaccine. Last week, Fauci said clearance could come before the holiday season, Reuters noted.
Have any schools implemented a COVID vaccine mandate?
Earlier this month, the Culver City Unified School District in California likely became the first school district in the nation to enact such a requirement.
Culver City schools Supt. Quoc Tran said the student vaccine mandate was issued after safety protocol discussions with the school board, teacher and employee unions and parents — who agreed that the requirement would help protect their schools as much as possible. The district, which serves 7,100 K-12 students, has 900 employees, who also must be vaccinated.
“We felt that doing the minimum is not quite good enough. We could do more,” Tran said. “We are in the context of constantly crowded places in school settings. The vaccine helps in case our children or staff members contract the virus. They have a lesser chance to be severely impacted.”
According to the Los Angeles Times, the decision was praised by parents, students, and public health officials. Tran said there was minimal pushback to the district’s decision.
Here’s a good video by Michael Brown on the subject. I’d add that the Christian understanding of two comings makes more sense of the stone that gradually grows to cover the earth in Daniel 2:35, the figure who already has enemies on earth and is waiting with God in heaven for the subjection of those enemies in Psalm 110:1, and the coming of God in power after having been pierced by his people in Zechariah 12:10.
9:62on the plow and looks back Followers of Jesus must have a singular focus on the work of God’s kingdom. This may be an allusion to 1 Kgs 19:19–21.
9:62 Anyone who puts his hand to the plow has to keep looking forward to guide the plow, for if he looks back the plow will quickly veer off course.
9:62 looking back. A plowman looking back cuts a crooked furrow.
9:62looking back: Here is the vacillating disciple—hot and cold. Jesus makes it clear that entry into discipleship with Him in faith is something from which one does not turn back without great peril. The allusion to looking back recalls Lot’s wife (Gen. 19:26). The remark about being fit (or usable) for the kingdom of God shows how seriously Jesus takes commitment to Him. The remark is a warning that the one who comes to Jesus should be prepared to stay with Him (1 Cor. 15:2; Col. 1:21–23; Matt. 7:21–23; 22:11–13; Luke 13:25–27). To put a hand to the plough is to engage in a task. Here, it is the task of serving the kingdom. Looking back militates against plowing straight furrows. The first disciple was too ready because he hadn’t counted the cost. The second disciple was not ready at all because he hadn’t sensed the urgency of moving when Jesus said move. And the third disciple was only half ready—hot to go when he looked forward but cold to go when he looked back. What lessons these are for those of us who aspire to discipleship and reign with Christ in His kingdom.
9:62 Jesus told him that once he put his hand to the plow of discipleship, he must not look back; otherwise he was not fit for the kingdom of God. Christ’s followers are not made of half-hearted stuff or dreamy sentimentality. No considerations of family or friends, though lawful in themselves, must be allowed to turn them aside from utter and complete abandonment to Him. The expression not “fit for the kingdom” does not refer to salvation but to service. It is not at all a question of entrance into the kingdom but of service in the kingdom after entering it. Our fitness for entering into the kingdom is in the Person and work of the Lord Jesus. It becomes ours through faith in Him.
And so we have three cardinal hindrances to discipleship illustrated in the experience of these men:
1. Material comforts.
2. A job or an occupation.
3. Family and friends.
Christ must reign in the heart without a rival. All other loves and all other loyalties must be secondary.
9:62 What a shocking statement! The Kingdom is ultimate! It must take priority over every aspect of self. Followship is the only worthy goal. Keep focused!
In ancient times plowing with an animal held two dangers of not staying focused on the ground ahead:
1. One could hit a rock or root and damage the plow.
2. One could plow a crooked row and cause loss of crop.
Again this type of call for priority discipleship cannot be used in every family issue. We all live in families and are called on to act responsibly toward them (cf. 1 Tim. 5:8). John was told to care for Jesus’ mother (cf. John 19:26), which he did until her death in Palestine; then John went to Asia Minor. Jesus’ statements are hard-hitting priority truths, but they must not be pushed so as to damage other Scriptural truths.
62. Jesus replied, No one who has just put his hand to a plow and (then) continues to look back is fit for the kingdom of God.
The fact that this proverb was not original with Jesus but can be traced back to Hesiod (fl. about 800 b.c.) does not make it any less appropriate. The man who puts his hand to a plow and starts plowing forward, but then immediately looks back and continues to do so, constantly trying to plow forward while he looks behind him, cannot run a straight furrow. It is entirely proper for him to stop his plow and then, while standing still, to view what he has done, in order to correct mistakes. But to plow in one direction while looking in the opposite direction will never do.
This man’s heart was divided. He should stop following the example of the Israelites (1 Kings 18:21), and instead should follow in Paul’s footsteps (Phil. 3:13, 14). Then, by God’s grace and power, he will be “fit” for the kingdom of God, “very useful to the Master” (2 Tim. 2:21). He must learn to say, and to mean it:
62. He who, after having put his hand to the plough, shall look back, is unfit for the kingdom of God. We must carefully inquire what this declaration of Christ means. They are said to look back, who become involved in the cares of the world, so as to allow themselves to be withdrawn from the right path; particularly, when they plunge themselves into those employments which disqualify them to follow Christ.
9:62 / who puts his hand to the plow and looks back: Marshall (p. 412), rightly commenting that Jesus’ demands are “more stringent than those of Elijah,” cites this interesting parallel from Hesiod, Works and Days, 443: “one who will attend to his work and drive a straight furrow and is past the age for gaping after his fellows, but will keep his mind on his work.” On the parallels between Luke 9:61–62 and 1 Kings 19 see Brodie, pp. 216–27.

“Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God” Psalm 145:13b
Do you feel confident today that God is always faithful? That He is exactly who He says He is? Aren’t you glad He doesn’t change His mind or get PMS or forget about His promises? Friends or family may let you down or even betray you. But not God. He is completely faithful throughout our entire life – not only to you, but all His children.
“For I the Lord do not change” (Malachi 3:6).
Do you lack confidence today? The Bible says,
“Faithful is he that called you, who also will do it” (1 Thessalonians 5:24).
He will be your adequacy.
Are you fearful about something? He said,
“I hem you in – behind and before; you have laid your hand upon me” (Psalm 139:5).
He is watching over you – behind, in front and overhead.
Are you facing an impossible task? Pray and discuss it with Him.
“Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we receive mercy and find grace to help us in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16).
We just have to ask. He will answer.
Have you messed up? Feel guilty?
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
He will cleanse you – make you completely pure.
Do you want to be more faithful to those you love? You can. Daily ask the Holy Spirit to fill you and direct you.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is…faithfulness” (Galatians 5:22-23).
The Holy Spirit will produce faithfulness in you.
Father, thank You for being faithful. How comforting to know that You never leave us or forsake us. You will provide what we need. You will enable us to be faithful – to You and to others. Thank You! Amen.
When I was in my thirties, I believed in God—was a Christian, was a churchgoer, but I did not know that I was created to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. I learned that to experience a full and meaningful life, I needed to yield the control of my life to God (I had never done that), then I could experience His love and power moment by moment. This is the prayer I prayed. You can too!
“Dear Father, I need You. I acknowledge that I have been directing my own life and that, as a result, I have sinned against You. I thank You that You have forgiven my sins through Christ’s death on the cross for me. I now invite Christ to again take His place on the throne of my life. Fill me with the Holy Spirit as You commanded me to be filled, and as You promised in Your Word that You would do if I asked in faith. I now thank You for directing my life and for filling me with the Holy Spirit.“
Does this prayer express the desire of your heart? If so, bow in prayer and trust God to fill you with the Holy Spirit right now.
“Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.” Psalm 119:49
Whatever your specific need is, you will likely find a promise about it in the Bible.
Are you feeling wearied and weak because your life has been troubling and tiring? Here is the promise: “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.” (Isaiah 40:29) When you read such a promise, take it back to our great God who promised it, and ask Him to fulfill His own word.
Are you seeking after Christ, and yearning for closer relationship with Him? This promise shines like a star upon you: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” (Matthew 5:6) Take that promise to God’s throne continually. Do not plead anything else, but go to God over and over again, praying “Lord, You have said it, I humbly ask that You do as You have said.”
Are you distressed because of sin, and burdened with the heavy load of your wrongdoings? Listen to these words: “I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.” (Isaiah 43:25) You have no worth of your own to deserve God’s pardon, but plead His written promises and He will perform them.
Are you afraid that you won’t be able to persevere to the end? Do you fear that, after having thought yourself to be a child of God, you might instead be a ‘castaway‘? Take this word of grace to God’s throne and plead it: “Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed.” (Isaiah 54:10)
If you have lost the sweet sense of the Savior’s presence, and are seeking Him with a sorrowful heart, remember these promises: “Return to me, and I will return to you” (Malachi 3:7) and “For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.” (Isaiah 54:7) Rest your faith upon God’s own word, and whatever your fears or desires, look to God’s “Bank of Faith” in your Father’s written word, saying, “Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope.”
Question: Which of God’s promises that you just read resonated most powerfully with you, and why?
Arguing about Food, and Not Eating It Philippians 4:2; 1 Timothy 1:4; 2 Timothy 2:23; Titus 3:9
Two learned doctors are angrily discussing the nature of food, and allowing their meal to lie untasted, while a simple countryman is eating as heartily as he can of that which is set before him. The religious world is full of quibblers, critics, and sceptics, who, like the doctors, fight over Christianity without profit either to themselves or others; those are far happier who imitate the farmer and feed upon the Word of God, which is the true food of the soul. Luther’s prayer was, “From nice questions the Lord deliver us.”

What Pleases People Often Displeases God 1 Samuel 2:3; 16:7; Psalm 147:10; John 7:24; 1 Corinthians 13:4; 2 Corinthians 10:7; Revelation 2:23
Do not take pride in your good deeds, for God’s judgments differ from those of men, and what pleases them often displeases Him. If there is good in you, see more good in others, so that you may remain humble. It does no harm to esteem yourself less than anyone else, but it is very harmful to think yourself better than even one. The humble live in continuous peace, while in the hearts of the proud are envy and frequent anger.

For the lost, it is crucial to seek the Lord for salvation. However, for a believer, it is also vital that you spend time with the Father daily in order to grow in your relationship with Him and be conformed to the likeness of Jesus.
The All-Seeing “i”: Apple Just Declared War on Your Privacy By now you’ve probably heard that Apple plans to push a new and uniquely intrusive surveillance system out to many of the more than one billion iPhones it has sold, which all run the behemoth’s proprietary, take-it-or-leave-it software. This new offensive is tentatively slated to begin with the launch of iOS 15—almost certainly in mid-September—with the devices of its US user-base designated as the initial targets. We’re told that other countries will be spared, but not for long.

WASHINGTON, D.C—President Joe Biden has finally stepped up delivering harsh remarks regarding those responsible for the deaths of our troops in Kabul. The President has authorized deadly force to deal with all who caused this tragedy.
“We will not rest until those responsible for this senseless, avoidable crisis in Kabul have been removed from this Earth,” said a forceful Biden. “We will unleash everything within our military’s arsenal to stop those who allowed this to happen!”
Unbeknownst to Biden at that very moment, a US military drone was activated and given the White House as its target. Before Biden could finish his speech he was pulled away urgently and briefed on what he’d just done.
“Aw c’mon man! I said kill the terrorists. Not us! What’s the deal, man?” said Biden.
“I’m sorry sir, but unfortunately you said to kill those responsible, Mr. President,” said General Milley. “The drones are quite literal, sir. There’s nothing we can do.”
At publishing time, Biden had tried to give the drones new orders to kill those who wish to harm our country, but the drone’s path remained unaltered.

The C.1.2 variant first detected in South Africa is more mutated compared to the original virus than any other known variant.
A new coronavirus variant, C.1.2, has been detected in South Africa and a number of other countries, with concerns that it could be more infectious and evade vaccines, according to a new preprint study by South Africa’s National Institute for Communicable Diseases and the KwaZulu-Natal Research Innovation and Sequencing Platform. The study is awaiting peer review.

Reporting on the exploits of Hunter Biden is off limits to the mainstream media, but soon there will be a movie all about “My Son Hunter ”, directed by actor Robert Davi. He’s here to tell us all about it.
President Joe Biden has a lot to say about what former President Donald Trump left for him to deal with when he was sworn in in January, and most of it is far from complimentary.
However, as the current president attempts to blame Trump for his own horrific handling of the Afghanistan crisis this month, he’s spent the better part of this year skirting around the fact that he was able to inherit his predecessor’s quick and successful program to produce a COVID-19 vaccine.
When Biden’s not taking credit for the development of the vaccine, with which he had very little to do, he’s insulting the intelligence of the unvaccinated, many of whom are loyal Trump supporters themselves.
However, the glories promised us by the swift production and delivery of the vaccine — credit whichever president you will for this vision of victory over the pandemic — have failed to come to fruition.
No sooner was the vaccine made widely available by April (something which Trump had indeed promised would be the case), than Biden was setting goals for vaccination rates he’d end up failing to meet a few short months later.
Meanwhile, the delta variant of the virus, we’re told, has presented itself as a worthy foe against the novel inoculation and as the administration has been dolling out money to TikTok influencers to try to sway the “vaccine-hesitant” to get their first shot, top federal health officials are already discussing boosters — perhaps taken at regular intervals.
On Friday, Biden revealed that he and his administration’s top medical adviser, the notorious Dr. Anthony Fauci, are now discussing the possibility of COVID-19 booster shots for those already fully vaccinated, at intervals as frequent as every five months.
Biden made the comments while speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, where he was meeting with new Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, as the New York Post reported.
“The question raised is should it be shorter than eight months? Should it be as little as five months? That’s being discussed. I spoke with Dr. Fauci this morning about that,” the president said.
Israel has already begun administering booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine to senior citizens, despite pleas from the World Health Organization to wait until more shots can be made available to third-world nations still waiting for their initial round of inoculations.
The supposedly vastly empathic Biden said that booster shots “will start here on Sept. 20 pending approval of the FDA and the CDC committee of outside experts,” as apparently, the United States will also be disregarding the underdeveloped nations who haven’t had any vaccines at all for the sake of administering shots to those who have already received theirs. You know, just to be safe.
This week, the FDA fully approved the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, and the companies have now also requested approval for their booster shot. Also this week, the Post noted, Johnson & Johnson said that its vaccine, which is still under emergency use authorization, works better with an extra shot.
“We expect the rule will be simple. Get your booster shot eight months after you got your second shot,” the Biden administration’s COVID-19 response coordinator Jeff Zients said on Tuesday, although the president and Fauci have now apparently considered shortening this length of time.
Something tells me that this push for booster shots isn’t exactly going to make the hesitant very eager to get their first round of the vaccine.
With a daily average of over 156,000 new cases of COVID-19 reported over the last week, which health officials attribute to the delta variant spreading among a population that is already over 70 percent vaccinated, skeptics are unlikely to be convinced that this shot is effective at all.
Trump has been credited with overseeing the speedy development of the vaccine but has also been criticized for not doing enough to encourage his base to get vaccinated themselves. Although he has briefly recommended Americans get the shot and admitted that he has received it in passing since leaving office, no one could accuse him of pushing to see the high vaccine rates that Biden has vied for.
No, Biden owns his urgent, and at times incredibly condescending and paternalistic, insistence that all Americans get the shot.
If regular booster shots every five months become the norm and COVID-19 is still spreading through the country, where on earth are he and Fauci going to go from there?
