No Love for the World
Deuteronomy 7:7–8; John 15:19; 1 Corinthians 7:31; 1 John 2:15–17; 4:19
This clay idol, the world, has no great court in my soul. Christ has come and run away to heaven with my heart and my love, so that neither heart nor love is mine.

Repentance Comes after Being Humbled by the Law
Romans 3:19; 7:14; 11:32; Galatians 3:22
When a man is humbled by the law, and brought to the knowledge of himself, then follows true repentance (for true repentance begins at the fear and judgment of God), and he sees himself to be so great a sinner that he can find no means how he may be delivered from his sin by his own strength, endeavor, and works.
Ritzema, E. (2013). 300 Quotations for Preachers from the Reformation. Bellingham, WA: Lexham Press.
Many people seem keen to make predictions about what our post-pandemic world will be like. Will we fully get back to ‘normal’ or are we heading for a ‘new normal’ and should we, therefore, relocate the office to Bermuda?
I’m not going to make any predictions because one of the most important things we should have learnt by now is that we don’t know what the future holds. Remember no one predicted the pandemic! We can’t control the future, but we can control how we respond to what happens to us in life. I want to suggest five lessons that we can take into the future, whatever it holds.
Cultivate an attitude of gratitude
One of the joys of coming out of lockdown was appreciating afresh things that we may have taken for granted before. A meal with friends, a day out at the rugby, or a family holiday. It’s like when you recover from having the flu – for at least a few days you appreciate your health in a way that you didn’t before. The danger is, that like with our health, it is all too easy to start taking these other things for granted.
Develop a rhythm of rest
A recent article in The Guardian spoke of people who wanted to develop a regular ‘lockdown day’ after the pandemic. Many of us might find the idea crazy given most of us were desperate to get out of lockdown! However, they found that, for all its many challenges, lockdown also caused them to slow down and spend time with their own family. Maybe we need to commit to regular times when we slow down rather than simply rushing back into busyness.
Remember the importance of relationships
Someone recently commented that British people should have found social distancing easy – we’ve been doing it for years! It is somewhat ironic that it took a pandemic to bring us together as a society. People started to get to know their neighbours and communities pulled together. Perhaps we have started to learn that we need each other. Deprived of close human connection we may have learnt that it is who we have in life, not what we have, that makes life worth living.
Avoid the myth of ‘safety-ism’
It seems that no longer do people say ‘goodbye’ but the new accepted phrase is ‘stay safe’. Whilst it is totally understandable that we might wish people safety (especially in the middle of a pandemic) there is a danger that we make safety our primary concern in life. Real life is about more than just staying safe; indeed, life can never be 100% safe. The psychologist Jonathan Haidt, observed (even before the pandemic) that an overemphasis on safety is stunting the development of young people and preventing them from learning how to weigh up risks.
Reconsider the foundation of life
The pandemic was something of a wake-up call to a culture that had forgotten about death. We have been reminded daily of the numbers of people dying, yet we can forget that even without Covid-19, over 1,500 still die every day in the United Kingdom. We can’t escape the reality that life is fragile, and it’s not just death that can come out of the blue: jobs can end with redundancy, and the most precious of relationships come to an end through death, divorce or disagreement. All of this should make us consider whether we can find something that can stay constant even when everything else changes.
What about God?
You may be surprised that I haven’t also added something like ‘Think about God’ to that list. After all, I am a Christian writer, writing in a Christian magazine! What is more, surveys show that the pandemic has caused people to think about spiritual realities in a way that we wouldn’t normally do. However, there is a danger that we simply think that we need to tack on some religion to our lives just as we might a hobby. However, God is not simply to be another aspect of our lives but the very foundation of them. It is my conviction that knowing the God revealed to us in the Bible makes the best sense of every aspect of life. With that in mind, let me revisit my suggestions:
Cultivate an attitude of gratitude
We have said that we should cultivate an attitude of gratitude but to whom should that be directed? It seems that we have much to be thankful for, but no one to be thankful to. Knowing God as the source of the good in our lives and thanking him for it actually increases our enjoyment of those things.
Develop a rhythm of rest
I find it amusing that The Guardian has suggested we need a regular lockdown day when the Bible had been on that idea over three thousand years ago. It’s called the Sabbath – a weekly day of rest. God’s rules are not given to us to limit our enjoyment of life but to enhance it. When we break God’s rules they also break us. If God is the author of life, then he knows best how life should be lived and we should listen to what he has to say – not just in regard to rest but also in everything else.
Remember the importance of relationships
We have learned that relationships make life worth living. That should be no surprise. The God who made us in his image is a relational God. Relationships are therefore at the core of who we are. We were made to relate to God, but we were also made to relate to each other. One of the best places to find intergenerational and multicultural community is the church.
Avoid the myth of ‘safety-ism’
If love and relationships are the most important things, then life can never be ‘safe’. To love is to risk getting hurt. This is the story of the Bible, God didn’t stay in the safety of Heaven but came into this broken and dangerous world. His love was expressed not simply at the risk of his life but at the cost of it. Jesus chose love over safety and calls us to follow in his footsteps.
Reconsider the foundation of life
The only foundation that is strong enough to build our lives upon is Jesus himself. The Bible says that he is the same yesterday, today and forever. When we come to put our trust in him and make him the foundation of our lives then nothing can separate us from his love, not even death. Since Jesus not only died but also rose again to life, we can have confidence that death is not the end but merely a gateway to an even more wonderful dimension of life.
Corrie ten Boom was a Dutch Christian who faced the horrors of a Nazi concentration camp. Reflecting on the turmoil that she lived through, as she suffered the loss of both her father and sister, along with experiencing unspeakable suffering she was able to conclude: ‘Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.’
And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward. (Matthew 10:42)
Well, I can do as much as that. I can do a kind act toward the Lord’s servant. The Lord knows I love them all and would count it an honor to wash their feet. For the sake of their Master, I love the disciples.
How gracious of the Lord to mention so insignificant an action—”to give to drink a cup of cold water only”! This I can do, however poor: this I may do, however lowly: this I will do right cheerfully. This, which seems so little, the Lord notices—notices when done to the least of His followers. Evidently it is not the cost, nor the skill, nor the quantity, that He looks at, but the motive: that which we do to a disciple, because he is a disciple, his Lord observes and recompenses. He does not reward us for the merit of what we do but according to His riches of His grace.
I give a cup of cold water, and He makes me to drink of living water. I give to one of His little ones, and He treats me as one of them. Jesus finds an apology for His liberality in that which His grace has led me to do, and He says, “He shall in no wise lose his reward.”
Just reading billboards on a road trip is enough to realize that people want to change their lives. Whether it be physical, financial, or relational, there are a vast range of self-help industries that have sprung up around the world’s insatiable demand for self-improvement. In effect, they perpetuate a lie that dominates the world: you can change yourself.READ MORE
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” Matthew 5:9 (TNIV)
This is the seventh of the beatitudes, and seven was the number of perfection among the Hebrews. It may be that the Savior placed this blessing seventh on the list because the peaceful child of God is perfected in the person of Jesus Christ.
Anyone who seeks perfect blessedness (as far as it can be experienced here and now on Earth) must grasp this seventh benediction and become a peacemaker. There is significance in the position of this verse. The verse which comes before it speaks of the blessedness of “the pure in heart: for they will see God.” Understand that we are to be “first pure, then peaceable.” (James 3:17, KJV) Our peaceableness must never permit sinful behavior or toleration of evil. We must set our faces sternly against everything which is contrary to God and His holiness. Once our souls are settled, we can continue on towards peaceableness.
The verse that follows also seems to be positioned on purpose: “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Regardless of how peaceable we may be, we will be misrepresented and misunderstood. And this should be no surprise, because even the Prince of Peace, by His perfect peacefulness, ended up bringing fire on the earth. Jesus Christ, though He loved humankind and did no harm, was “despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering.” (Isaiah 53:3) Therefore, the peaceable in heart should not be surprised when they meet with enemies, despite their peacefulness.
Lord, give us grace to climb towards this seventh beatitude! Purify our minds that we may be “first pure, then peaceable,” and fortify our souls, that our peaceableness may not lead us into cowardice and despair when, for Your sake, we are persecuted.
Question: Where in your life can you act as a peacemaker?

“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid”
We were waiting for the traffic light to turn green. A car beside us (going the opposite direction) had her left turn signal light on, waiting to cross our lane. The woman in the car behind her was not impressed. Impatiently, she sat on her horn, then got out of her car with great anger and gave a tongue lashing to the driver of the car that was waiting to turn. The woman could have easily passed on the other side, but chose to vent her hostilities instead.
We sat watching this display of anger. We recognized the woman! I am sure she would have felt embarrassed had she realized she was being watched.
Our pastor spoke on Ephesians 2:11-22 this morning in church. It was all about peace. Peace provided to us through what Jesus Christ did…through His life, death and resurrection. What an appropriate message considering current world events. Peace for our hearts…and peace with those God puts in our paths.
Jesus spoke a lot about peace. He said,
“Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid” (John 14:27).
He also wants us to be peacemakers:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called the sons of God” (Matthew 5:9).
You and I don’t have the responsibility of making decisions that will affect world peace or war, but Jesus did provide the possibility for us to have inner peace and He wants us to do whatever we can to make peace with those around us. Let’s be peaceful inside and be peacemakers where we can. The Prince of Peace will enable us.
Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for us so we can have peace with God. Thank You, too, that You provide everything we need to be peacemakers with those we along our journey. Amen.

Taking Issue with the Bible’s Chapter Divisions
I feel vexed with the fellow who chopped the Bible up into chapters.… I have heard that he did the most of his carving of the New Testament between London and Paris, and rough work he made of it. Surely he was chaptering the Gospel of Matthew while he was crossing the Channel, for he has divided it in such queer places.

Words That Edify Bring Joy
Proverbs 12:25; Matthew 12:36; Romans 14:19; Ephesians 4:29; 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Words that edify bring joy to those that hear them. Harsh words give pain to our friends, but idle words rob us of the fruit that time would have produced.

“From The Patriot Post (patriotpost.us)”
“It is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope. We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth — and listen to the song of that syren, till she transforms us into beasts. Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty? Are we disposed to be of the number of those, who having eyes, see not, and having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation? For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it might cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it.” —Patrick Henry (1775)

As the outrage continues to grow, the president tries to talk about anything but Afghanistan.
As the enormity of Joe Biden’s Afghanistan disaster continues to sink in, and as his polling numbers continue to plumb new depths, we can understand why he and his handlers and enablers are so desperate to change the subject.
Think about it: If Gold Star families were telling you to “burn in hell,” and if the Taliban were throwing victory parades with the billions in American military gear that you’d just abandoned, wouldn’t you want to talk about something — anything — else?
Like white supremacy, for example?
This is something of a pattern for the Left: When in doubt, lie, and when in trouble, circle the wagons and misdirect.
Yesterday, almost as if on cue, speaking virtually to Jewish leaders ahead of the High Holy Days of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, Biden told of a trip he’d made to Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue shortly after the 2018 anti-Semitic massacre that left 11 dead. Trouble is, Biden never went to the Tree of Life synagogue. In Walter Mittyesque fashion, he simply made it up. The synagogue’s executive director confirms this.
Of course, Joe Biden has a long history of making stuff up.
“I remember spending time at the, you know, going to the, you know, the Tree of Life synagogue, speaking with them,” Biden lied in a 16-minute ramble that then went on to warn of future attacks by white supremacists.
You know, you know the thing.
“And so,” he went on, “I guess the point I’m making is that the attack in Pittsburgh, those attacks — all anti-Semitic attacks aren’t just a strike against the Jewish community; they’re a strike against the soul of our nation and the values which we say we stand for.”
Translation: Forget Afghanistan. Remember the white supremacists. And lest you think we’re exaggerating, here’s Joe Biden’s hand maidens at CNN trying to connect white supremacy to the Taliban, of all things.
“White supremacist praise of the Taliban takeover concerns US officials,” reads the dire headline.
Let’s hope the American people see through this shameless stuff. Early signs indicate they’re doing just that.
This week, a Rasmussen poll found that a majority of the American people want Biden resign for his handling of our withdrawal from Afghanistan. The numbers are remarkable: 52% agree, just 39% disagree, and 9% are undecided — which is to say, 9% are afraid they’ll be audited by the IRS if they answer honestly.
This is one poll, and one snapshot, but it clearly indicates that the American people don’t believe Joe Biden simply left Afghanistan — he lost Afghanistan. And lost it badly.
On June 5, 1944, on the eve of the D-Day invasion, General George Patton’s speech to the 3rd Army captured an essential part of the American spirit: “Americans,” he said, “love a winner and will not tolerate a loser. Americans play to win all the time. That’s why Americans have never lost and will never lose a war. The very thought of losing is hateful to Americans.”
Much has changed since that day, but, by and large, the American people still hate losing, and they especially hate losing in a manner as disgraceful as we did in Afghanistan — leaving our equipment to the enemy, abandoning our people and our allies, and losing 13 young warriors so awfully and needlessly. We have Joe Biden to “thank” for it, and he and his handlers know it.
No wonder this loser wants to change the subject.
Biden, Pelosi, and Markey rail against SCOTUS’s decision not to block a Texas heartbeat law.
Joe Biden claims to be a Roman Catholic who is “guided by his faith.” Similarly, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a long history of boasting about being a “devout Catholic.” And Massachusetts Senator Ed Markey likewise touts his Catholic faith by claiming that his “basic text for everything I do is the Sermon on Mount.” He added: “Blessed are the poor. That’s Medicaid. Blessed are the elderly. That’s Medicare. Blessed are the children. That’s Head Start.”
Besides being Catholics, all three are longtime leading Democrats. And despite their oft-voiced claims of being guided by their Catholic faith, their words and actions demonstrate just the opposite. The reality is they are truly devoted to their political idols.
Following the recent and entirely legally sensible decision by the U.S. Supreme Court not to grant emergency relief against Texas’s Heartbeat Act, therefore allowing the new law to go into effect, Biden, Pelosi, and Markey went ballistic in rushing to defend the Left’s most sacred cow: abortion.
Biden railed against the justices’ decision as “an unprecedented assault on a woman’s constitutional rights under Roe v. Wade, which has been the law of the land for almost 50 years.” Guided by his Catholic faith? Please. Conflating a lawless court decision like Roe v. Wade with law was bad enough, but not nearly as absurd as the blatantly false assertion that abortion is a constitutional right.
Pelosi also played up the act, suggesting that SCOTUS’s failure to “protect” women means the House will consider legislation to “enshrine into law reproductive health care for all women across America.” The reality is that Texas’s law does more to genuinely protect the reproductive health of all women than does Pelosi’s concoction. Killing a preborn is not healthcare. The Party of Science™ knows this reality, but refuses to admit it because even scientific truth must be sacrificed in order to protect its holy sacrament of abortion.
Markey may like to claim his basic biblical text for everything is the Sermon on the Mount, but the text doesn’t read “blessed only are birthed children.” He too shows his true religious commitments in his call for the elimination of the filibuster, arguing, “We have seen what the Republicans will do in ultra-conservative state legislatures across the country to quash the constitutional rights of Americans, and this ruling needs to be an urgent call to action for my Senate Democratic colleagues.”
The truth is Biden, Pelosi, Markey, and their Democrat colleagues worship at the altar of abortion rights. Everything else must be brought into submission to this primary issue. If protecting the lives of the most vulnerable and most innocent were important to these “Catholic” Democrats, then they would be praising the Court’s decision. Their words and actions show the opposite is the case. Political power, not preserving life, is what’s most important — be it in Afghanistan or in the womb.
There was no justification for detaining and jailing Mrs. West.
Lost in the horrendous scenes of Joe Biden’s surrender and retreat from Afghanistan over the last three weeks was an episode of injustice targeting the wife of our friend and, most recently, Texas GOP Chairman Allen West. He is now a gubernatorial candidate.
Our longtime readers will recall that in 2003, we were the first national organization to come to the defense of then LtCol West after an Operation Iraqi Freedom incident leading to his unjustly being charged with a UCMJ violation for his interrogation of an Iraqi national believed to have information about an ambush of American soldiers. I have supported Allen through many different endeavors since and know him to be an extraordinary voice for American Liberty, and a man with very strong family and faith convictions.
You will find no man in our country who is more supportive of law enforcement. At the same time, Allen does not hesitate to call out negligent policing practices. What follows is an indisputable case of, at best, such negligence and, at worst, the zealous targeting of the wife of a high-profile Black conservative.
On Friday evening, 20 August, Allen’s wife of 32 years, Angela, was returning home with her three-month-old grandson after dinner with friends. She was stopped by a Dallas Police DWI task force officer for suspicion of driving while intoxicated. After field sobriety tests, Angela was arrested for DWI and endangering a minor, and taken to jail — leaving her traumatized grandchild with officers while his parents came to pick him up.
For context, I was a state-certified law enforcement officer by age 19 and worked as a uniformed officer for four years before graduating college. I have remained active in professional law enforcement associations in all the years since, retaining to this day a law enforcement appointment. In those early years, I made many DWI stops and arrests — not one was overturned for lack of cause or evidence. Here is my assessment of Angela’s arrest.
I have viewed, multiple times, every second of the dash cam and officer body cam videos of the stop and arrest of Angela West, and I have reviewed the other evidence in this case.
I believe, based on the dash cam videos, that the officer was correct in making this traffic stop. West did drift over the sideline of the highway, which could have indicated impaired driving.
That being said, there is nothing, NOTHING, in the remaining videos of the field sobriety tests that would lead me to conclude that Angela West was under the influence of any intoxicant. And given the fact that the breath alcohol analysis completed on the scene, twice, was “inconclusive,” there was no reason — I repeat, NO reason — to further detain Angela West, much less place her under arrest and take her to jail. She complied with all of the officer’s requests and was courteous.
Moreover, the fact that other more senior officers had arrived to assist in this stop, officers who should have known better than to arrest Angela West, raises much greater suspicion that she was unjustly detained and arrested because of political animosity held by the Black officers against Allen.
In an affidavit from the arresting officer, she indicated that Angela West’s appearance was “not crisp” and that her hair “looked ungroomed.” Well, take her to jail! Once in jail, Angela agreed to a blood draw for toxicology screen analysis, a standard procedure.
Following Angela’s arrest, after bringing her home from jail on Saturday, Allen released a video that was, well, 100% what you would expect from a loving husband and “highly pissed off” decorated combat veteran. Knowing well that his wife was not using any alcohol or drug that would have impaired her judgment, he demanded an apology from Dallas Police Chief Edgardo Garcia, who was hired from San Jose, California, in December.
Garcia was quick to defend his officers against Allen West’s “mischaracterization” of this arrest, declaring: “We’re not trying to try this DWI arrest in the media. Mrs. West is entitled to due process.”
Indeed she was, and indeed Garcia was too quick to defend his officers. According to the Dallas district attorney’s review of Angela West’s toxicology report, she had used NO alcohol or drugs — none.
Following the release of that report, Allen declared: “I stand by my assertion that a full apology to my wife Angela is warranted. As well, the full unedited body cam video should be released by the Dallas PD Chief Garcia to the press and the public. My wife’s honor and reputation should have never been assailed.” She is certainly due that apology.
We have provided in-depth analysis about the pandemic of Black-on-Black violence in Democrat-controlled urban centers across our nation — the direct result of failed Democrat social policies. We would hope this case is not a harbinger of racial targeting of prominent Black conservatives by Black officers.
A full investigation into the background of the arresting officer to exclude any other motives for the arrest of Angela West should now be conducted.
The West Virginia Democrat is slowing the rush to socialist utopia.
Let’s get one thing straight up front: Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV — Trump by 39 points) is no conservative. It’s very unlikely that he’ll switch parties anytime soon, as some hope. If for no other reason, he likes the attention he can generate as the “moderate” Democrat in a 50/50 Senate. All the same, the thought of Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and Bernie Sanders suffering some serious heartburn over Manchin is amusing.
Earlier this week, Manchin called for Congress to “hit the pause button” on the $3.5 trillion Bernie Sanders-written spending bonanza poised to pass both houses. Then he wrote a Wall Street Journal op-ed fleshing out his argument and throwing down the gauntlet:
Some in Congress have a strange belief there is an infinite supply of money to deal with any current or future crisis, and that spending trillions upon trillions will have no negative consequence for the future. …
At $28.7 trillion and growing, the nation’s debt has reached record levels. Over the past 18 months, we’ve spent more than $5 trillion responding to the coronavirus pandemic. Now Democratic congressional leaders propose to pass the largest single spending bill in history with no regard to rising inflation, crippling debt or the inevitability of future crises. Ignoring the fiscal consequences of our policy choices will create a disastrous future for the next generation of Americans. …
I, for one, won’t support a $3.5 trillion bill, or anywhere near that level of additional spending, without greater clarity about why Congress chooses to ignore the serious effects inflation and debt have on existing government programs.
Unfortunately, Manchin’s opposition has more to do with the timing and size of the bill than the sweeping socialism of Sanders’s legislation. Yet Manchin also hints at objections on a more fundamental level. “The purpose of the proposed $3.5 trillion in new spending isn’t to solve urgent problems, but to re-envision America’s social policies,” he says. “I believe that spending trillions more dollars not only ignores present economic reality, but makes it certain that America will be fiscally weakened when it faces a future recession or national emergency.”
Speaking of recession, we’re certainly not in one right now, but the economy isn’t exactly roaring either. The August jobs report was a huge disappointment, with only 235,000 jobs added instead of the expected 720,000. There are now a record-shattering 10.5 million openings in the country, largely because Democrats keep spending taxpayer money to keep people from taking those jobs.
Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema are the only two Democrat senators who even have qualms about the latest spending spree. A handful of “moderate” Democrats in the House feel likewise. Ultimately, though, we expect Democrat infighting won’t stop them from passing something, and whatever it is will be too expensive and too radical because that’s just who Democrats are.
He abandoned Americans and allies, but he made sure government employees got a raise.
Brian Mark Weber
With Americans still trapped in Afghanistan, inflation soaring, kids losing out on another year of schooling, and joblessness rampant across the country, President Joe Biden really has his priorities in order. There may not be a worse time to raise federal workers’ salaries than during economic, political, and military chaos, but that’s exactly what Biden did this week when he used his presidential “emergency powers” to pad the paychecks of government employees in 2022.
Unsurprisingly, the move was praised by the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association. Who doesn’t want a bigger paycheck?
In a letter to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and President of the Senate Kamala Harris, Biden declared that “national emergency or serious economic conditions” warrant his decision to increase federal salaries.
It must be nice to work in a cubicle deep in the bowels of a DC federal building and have Uncle Joe kick in a nice raise. Meanwhile, the poor schlub down the street has to pray for another stimulus check to make up for the job he lost during the government shutdown. Maybe that guy should apply for work in a federal agency.
The Congressional Research Service reported more than two million federal workers in 2020. The number doesn’t include those working in the CIA, FBI, White House, U.S. Postal Service, State Department, or other agencies. That’s a heck of a lot of pencil pushers.
Let’s be clear: This isn’t a categorical knock on federal employees, some of whom are fine Americans who work hard. But many of them aren’t and don’t, and let’s not forget that the expanding bureaucracy runs on the tax payments made by everyone else. In return, a significant portion of the federal workforce doesn’t really produce anything of value to society.
It’s easy to hand out raises when you’re playing with other people’s money. What organization in the private sector gives every single employee a raise every single time, along with a lifetime job guarantee and a generous pension? That company doesn’t exist.
In the real world, if Ned spends more time at the office solving his Rubik’s Cube than finishing his weekly reports, it’s off to the unemployment line. In Washington, Ned could last for years without being noticed, all while living a pretty good life in the DC suburbs.
Even still, all of this might not taste so bad if it weren’t for the poor timing.
Maybe if we were all feeling the positive effects of a roaring economy driven by a party in power that looks out for all American workers, a federal pay raise might be easier to swallow. But now, it’s insulting. Federal employees already rake in an average salary that’s roughly two-thirds more than their private-sector counterparts.
“Yes, after creating the veritable model of incompetent governance recently witnessed by horrified Americans and allies around the world, Mr. Biden has decided this is the moment to declare a swamp-wide pay raise,” James Freeman writes in The Wall Street Journal. “What on earth does this latest raid on taxpayers have to do with addressing national emergencies?”
We all know it’s not an emergency, especially for someone pulling in six figures and guaranteed a cushy retirement. For everyone else, this is a kick in the teeth.
We’ve all seen in recent days how President Biden just doesn’t get it when it comes to relating to ordinary folks. He couldn’t even properly respect the remains of our soldiers coming back from Afghanistan, so we shouldn’t be surprised he’s handing pay raises to federal employees while the rest of us wonder how we’re going to make ends meet.
History is the gift of a million timelines because it broadens the human experience.
When Nikole Hannah-Jones published her dubious Pulitzer Prize-winning 1619 Project, it sparked a debate on how we look at and teach history. This biased and historically inaccurate series of articles by Jones puts the legacy of slavery as the main driver of American history. It oversimplifies and overshadows the triumphs that decorate the story of our nation as a whole. The 1619 Project is universally denounced by distinguished historians. Jones has perfectly demonstrated how history can be skewed based on a biased lens.
Why even bother to learn history if it can be so convoluted? To begin to answer that question, we need to define the purpose of history. In an article by University of Melbourne professor Mark Edele, he proposes that people are driven to learn history because it is closely tied to our human identity. It answers that age-old question: Where do we come from? History began when humans started writing down their stories.
Some of these stories teach larger moral questions. They remind us that there is nothing new under the sun. They remind us that there are no perfect humans, and that heroes had their bad moments too. We can still honor the achievements of amazing humans and strive to live up to the best examples they provide. If we are limited to condemning the character flaws of these men and women, no one would deserve a statue or to be remembered. History should not be used as a prognosticator. It is far too complex to ever be a reliable guide to making specific future decisions. Overall, though, the human patterns of behavior are archetypes from which we can teach and learn.
History teaches us about change happening over time. If left to their own ignorance, humans are limited to the timeline in which they are born. The amount of change that can happen in those years of life are significant, but only to the humans they directly affect. History is the gift of a million timelines. It broadens the human experience by giving a glimpse into the life of other people, places, and cultures.
Perhaps because history is so complex, it also helps us learn to view the past through many lenses. We can look at it through the eyes of a specific historian, or through the lenses of religion, politics, diplomacy, and people. The fallacy comes in when the teacher or “historian” seeks to only teach through one lens or use only one source because it aligns with his own worldview.
Finally, the teaching of history should instill a love of country in our students. Not overly fervent nationalism — which is just as biased as the 1619 Project — but a balanced, unflinching look at the achievements with the failures. It should be a telling of all the people that have made up the fabric of the American Story and tying it all back to the core values of the American Dream. It should bolster up the triumphs and condemn the evils. Students should leave a lesson feeling united.
So is Nikole Hannah-Jones’s fallacious account fulfilling the purpose of history? Not at all. It pushes a Marxist Black Lives Matter agenda that seeks only to divide students based on past grievances. Those sins of the past should not define the future, but redemption and the highlighting of moral ideals should guide the way forward in teaching history.
Nielsen ratings show that the cable news channel is the most watched yet again.
Once again, claims and predictions of Fox News Channel’s impending demise have proven mere wishful thinking, as ratings show it is indeed still the most-watched cable news network. Recently released Nielsen ratings for the month of August show that FNC dominated the market with 94 of the month’s top 100 cable news telecasts. Furthermore, 13 of the top 14 news programs were on FNC.
Just how dominant has Fox News been? Well, according to the numbers, FNC bested CNN by over 200% in total prime-time viewers. Meanwhile, CNN saw its viewership numbers decline by another 39% after losing 70% already earlier this year. And MSNBC’s viewership continued its downward spiral, hitting lows not seen since 2017.
This past month was a particularly good month for FNC. The Associated Press reports: “In August, viewers watched FNC more than any other cable news channel helping the network capture averaging 4.1 million viewers and 809,000 with A25-54 during primetime on the days the Taliban took over Afghanistan and last Thursday when a suicide attack killed 13 U.S. service members. The network closed out the month as the number one network in all of weekday television in primetime, besting broadcast and all of cable in total viewers during the past 3 weeks, bolstered by wall-to-wall breaking news coverage surrounding Afghanistan and Hurricane Ida.”
Impressively, FNC’s late-night show “Gutfeld!” ended the month as the number one rated show for the 11:00 p.m. time slot in cable, and the AP says it even “outpaced ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! [and] NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in total viewers while topping Comedy Central’s The Daily Show and all other cable late night programs in both total viewers and the younger A25-54 demo.”
While FNC continues its long run leading the pack, it’s important to note that the total number of leftist news outlets continues to outnumber those on the Right. Newmax, FNC’s closest competitor on the Right, has seen its viewership numbers halved from its high in December 2020, when it averaged 300,000 viewers. It’s now down to roughly 114,000. In other words, Fox News might be winning the individual network battle — and it may lead the pack well into the future — but even combined with other conservative channels, it still doesn’t outweigh the influence of the Leftmedia.

Nothing officially reported and proliferated by media press agents should be taken at face value — notably nothing about imperial wars and all things flu/covid.
Is the delta scariant surging in the US and elsewhere?
Did half a million US kids test positive for flu/covid from August 5 – 26?
Do masks limit flu/covid from spreading?
Do jabs protect, notably double, booster and forever ones?
Do experimental, Pfizer/Moderna DNA-altering mRNA drugs — falsely called vaccines — cut so-called long-flu/covid risk in half?
Do fast-tracked J & J/AstraZeneca covid vaccines work the same way?
Do recovered flu/covid patients face a greater risk of kidney damage?
Are unjabbed individuals endangered and hazardous to others?
Does flu/covid threaten humanity or are jabs, masks, PCR tests, and obstructed interactions by social distancing harming everyone?
Asking “(w)hen will the delta (scariant) surge end” by the NYT ignored what it should have reported.
The same goes for fake news fear-mongering claims about multiple pandemic “wave(s),” widespread flu/covid hospitalizations attributed to delta and deaths for the same alleged reason.
On August 31 — based on science — Jon Rappoport explained that PCR tests can’t identify delta.
Based on how they’re administered, they can’t identify any flu/covid strain.
Rappoport quoted the following from the Texas health department, saying:
PCR tests “are not designed to tell you what variant is causing (flu/covid) infection.”
Accurate detection requires “genomic sequencing…testing” most often not administered.
No data exists to know how many Americans contracted delta.
Officially reported numbers are “fiction.”
Rappoport also quoted the following from the American Lung Association, saying:
“Regular (PCR flu/covid) tests do not detect which variant is involved in a patient’s case.”
Detection “requires genomic sequencing, a process separate from regular virus tests and one that not all labs are able to do or do not do on a routine basis for patient care but are done more for public health monitoring.”
Citing state-level data collected by the American Academy of Pediatrics, CNN claimed that half a million children tested positive for flu/covid during a three-week period last month.
Ignored was that nearly all positive PCR tests are false because they’re administered to falsely produce large numbers as part of state-sponsored — media supported — fear-mongering mass deception to mind-manipulate maximum numbers of people to be jabbed with what harms health.
Ignoring as well is that all flu/covid strains are similar, delta no more scariant than others.
CNN falsely claimed a “dramatic rise in (outbreaks) and hospitalizations due to the…delta” scariant…especially” among the unjabbed.
Citing a likely Pharma financed study, WaPo reported that outbreaks among fully jabbed people “are extremely rare (sic)…reduce…hospitalization(s) (and) likelihood of…debilitating symptoms” post-infection (sic).
It cited another dubious study claim that recovered flu/covid patients “face a heightened risk of kidney damage.”
All of the above is part of state-sponsored fear-mongering about garden-variety seasonal flu renamed.
It aims to convince us to believe what harms harms health — and eliminates free and open societies in favor of social control on a path toward tyranny — is beneficial.
Eminent truth-telling physician Vernon Coleman noted that “(t)he Queen in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland believed it possible to believe many impossible things before breakfast,” adding:
“The trouble today is that people (controlled by brainwashing, the media and their own cognitive dissonance) believe impossible things all day long.”
We’re “trained to be obedient,” Coleman stressed, today at the expense of health and fundamental freedoms.
On all things flu/covid what’s going on is “lead(ing) to our destruction.”
It’s the responsibility of governments, their public health officials and Pharma to prove flu/covid jabs are safe — an impossible task “they cannot do,” Coleman stressed.
Nor can anyone else. No peer-reviewed data exists to prove what harms health is safe.
Everyone jabbed for flu/covid risks contracting any one or more serious illnesses.
They greatly heighten the risk of contracting the viral illness jabs are supposed to protect against but don’t.
They’re hazardous to health risks with no rewards — what’s suppressed instead of stressed.
Elephants in room abound, including a never found SARS-Cov-2 virus claimed to be responsible for flu/covid.
Left unexplained is how a never lab-isolated virus can cause any illness.
The mother of all US/Western scams suppresses virtually everything vital to know — featuring Big Lies and mass deception exclusively on this most crucial issue of our time.
Throughout the West, we’re carpet-bombed daily with fake news about all things flu/covid — with diabolical aims in mind.
That’s the disturbing reality that establishment media go all-out to suppress — supporting health destruction and eliminating what remains of free and open societies, instead of exposing and condemning the draconian plan.
As Saudi Arabia’s Al Arabiya News reported, images shared on social media appeared to show U.S. military armored vehicles in Iran.
The vehicles had allegedly belonged to Afghanistan’s army prior to the country being taken over by the Taliban, though Al Arabiya “could not independently verify the authenticity of those images shared on social media.”
Images shared on Twitter appeared to show Iranian army trucks transporting Humvees on a highway between Semnan and Garmsar, according to the Saudi outlet.
One Twitter user wrote in a translated post, “Transfer of American Humvees from Islamic Republic of Iran to Afghanistan to Iran * Location of photos: Semnan-Garmsar police station.”
The Biden administration has handled the Afghanistan withdrawal than anybody could have imagined. The withdrawal has included the deaths of 13 U.S. military personnel who were killed in a bombing by ISIS, American citizens still trapped in the country after our troop withdrawal and an untold amount of military equipment being left in the hands of the Taliban.
Gen. Kenneth McKenzie Jr., commander of U.S. Central Command, said this week that some of this equipment had been destroyed prior to U.S. troops leaving.
According to an official transcript of a Defense Department media briefing Monday, McKenzie said of the equipment, “We brought some of it out, and we demilitarized some of it.”
He went on to offer an example, saying the systems used to defend the Kabul airport from rocket attacks were kept in place until the last moment before troops left, when they were finally demilitarized.
“We have also demilitarized equipment that we did not bring out at of the airport that included a number of [Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles] — up to 70 MRAPs that we demilitarized that will never be used again by anyone; 27 Humvees, that little tactical vehicle, that will never be driven again,” McKenzie said.
McKenzie added that 73 aircraft left on the ramp at the airport were demilitarized and are unable to ever be flown again.
Additionally, retired military personnel have warned about what this means for the world and how other U.S. adversaries may be able to get this equipment from the Taliban in the future.
It appears that these warnings may have come true already.
It should be noted that Iranian officials have not confirmed or responded to the images, and the validity of the photographs has not been independently verified.
However, if these photographs turn out to be legitimate, this could be a destructive development for the free world.
If Iran has really gained access to U.S. equipment, the amount of knowledge and information it would be able to learn from them is frightening, to say the least. The country whose citizens routinely chant “death to America” would love nothing more than to use our technology to its own advantage.
Iran has been considered a threat to the U.S. for some time now, but having access to our own advanced tech makes the nation a much more credible threat. It is all thanks to Biden’s poorly executed troop withdrawal from Afghanistan that makes this development even a possibility now.
If Iran has in fact successfully procured military equipment from the U.S., it leaves one to wonder: What did the Taliban get in exchange for the equipment? And what other nations might Iran share its newfound knowledge and access with?
While the answers to these questions are unknown at the moment, one thing is certain: Iran having access to American military equipment makes the entire world less safe.
More than 340 million people around the world suffer persecution for practicing their Christian faith – making it the largest persecuted religious group. In solidarity with them, and to help raise awareness, the 2nd annual March for the Martyrs will take place in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 25, 2021.
It’s the first time the March, hosted by For the Martyrs, will be held in our nation’s capital.
“We all see what’s going on in Afghanistan right now. Christians are being hunted down and killed. This is happening in so many other nations across the world, and so few people are talking about it. That’s why we’ve chosen to move the March for the Martyrs to Washington, D.C.,” said Gia Chacon, president of For the Martyrs.
“More than 1000 participants, dressed in red, will march for and with all Christian denominations and people of good will,” added Chacon. “I believe we can all unite around this cause – with one voice – as the body of Christ in the United States advocating for our persecuted brothers and sisters.”
The March will begin with a rally on the National Mall. From there, participants will follow a route up the National Mall, past the White House and end with the Night for the Martyrs at the JW Marriott Hotel. There, participants will hear testimonials from persecuted Christians and those who advocate for them.
The persecution of Christians is widely ignored by the media and often overlooked within communities of faith. For this reason, For the Martyrs is on a mission to place Christian persecution on the forefront of the fight for human rights.
In addition to Ms. Chacon, speakers include:
Nasarean.org founder, Fr. Benedict Kiely
Open Doors USA president, David Curry
Chinese defector and ChinaAid founder, Bob Fu
Musician and speaker, Sean Feucht
In Defense of Christians president, Toufic Baaklini
Ex-U.S. Commissioner on Int’l Religious Freedom, Rev. Johnnie Moore
Relatable podcast host, Allie Beth Stuckey
For this year’s event, The Catholic Connect Foundation, Open Doors USA, In Defense of Christians, Liberty University’s Freedom Center, and Students for Life have signed on as official co-sponsors.
“Jesus people, of all different backgrounds, need to rally as one for those who are persecuted, oppressed and murdered for their faith in Jesus. March for the Martyrs is the moment to let our collective voice be heard,” said Open Doors USA’s David Curry.
The March for the Martyrs made history on September 5th, 2020 (pictured above), when hundreds of Christians across all denominations of Christianity marched to stand in solidarity with persecuted Christians around the world. It was and continues to be the United States’ first and only large-scale march representing persecuted Christians.
The March is organized by For the Martyrs, a nonprofit organization that seeks to raise awareness about the crisis of Christian persecution, advocate for religious freedom and provide aid to suffering Christians across the globe. It was established in 2019.
Gia Chacon is a humanitarian, motivational speaker and founding president of For the Martyrs. She first began her humanitarian efforts in 2017 and has since traveled to Central America, East Africa and throughout the Middle East.

It’s really no secret that Fox News today is nowhere near the Fox News of 2016.
Once Roger Ailes left, the whole thing went to hell in a hand basket.
But the worst thing that happened, was adding that snake, Paul Ryan to the Fox board.
I don’t think they could have found a more anti-America First globalist if they tried.
And now, Matt Gaetz, who recently launched a new podcast, announced who was behind the firing of popular Fox host Lou Dobbs.
And you guessed it…It’s that snake, Paul Ryan.
Bizpaceview reported on what Gaetz said:
“One of my favorite shows on the Fox platform was ‘Lou Dobbs Tonight.’ Sweet, sweet Lou, like America’s angry uncle, politically incorrect sometimes, red in the face and usually right about stuff,” Gaetz continued.
He then played a montage of Dobbs relentlessly bashing Ryan as a “RINO.”
“Now that Paul Ryan has concentrated power at Fox News, Lou Dobbs is no longer on air. He can’t guide the populist right away from the invade everywhere, invite everyone version of Republicanism that sells out to K Street and abandons Main Street,” the congressman then said.
Dobbs was ousted in February a day after the election systems company Smartmatic filed a pre-planned $2.7 billion lawsuit against Fox Corp. that named Dobbs as one of several hosts who’d allegedly “irreparably harmed” its reputation by accusing it of committing election fraud.
In a statement, a spokesperson claimed at the time that the discussions over ending the Fox Business Network host’s show had preceded the suit.
“As we said in October, Fox News Media regularly considers programming changes and plans have been in place to launch new formats as appropriate post-election, including on Fox Business. This is part of those planned changes. A new 5 p.m. program will be announced in the near future,” the spokesperson reportedly said.
Nobody really believed them then, and neither goes Gaetz.
“Paul Ryan never used his considerable power as speaker for Trump’s wall or other key immigration reforms, but he was able to use his power at Fox News to cancel the great Lou Dobbs,” he said, concluding the part of the podcast about Ryan.
You can listen below (comments start at the 19:25 mark):
Fox News has shown time and time again that they’re not our friend. As a matter of fact, they’re much more dangerous and hurtful to our cause than CNN or MSNBC combined.
If you want to show Fox News who’s boss here’s what you can do:
Don’t watch anything, not even “friendly” shows on Fox News. Turn them off.
If you want to watch your favorite shows, watch them on Youtube or social media (not Fox’s Youtube channel).
Do not click on ANY Fox News or New York Post article at all.
Cancel all subscriptions you may have to any Fox News app or program they offer.
Block Fox News on social media do not retweet them or promote them.
If you’re looking for broadcast alternatives, go with OANN or Newsmax.
If we follow these five steps, we will send a very clear and very powerful message to these traitors and to Paul Ryan, that they can’t use us for our ratings and loyalty, and then sail us down the river later.

President Putin had some choice words to assess the American war in Afghanistan, claiming the same excuses have been used for centuries. ‘This attempt to ‘civilize’ other people, to impose western civilization on them, I hope they’ll realize it was a mistake.’ He added that his counterparts ‘have kept doing this since the times of the so-called Enlightenment… they still maintain their influence using democracy as an excuse.’ Follow us on Telegram https://t.me/rtintl From: RT

Earlier this month, protesters from the ‘Official Voice’ group, who called for the latest rally, attempted first to storm a former BBC building and then ITN headquarters, in another demonstration.
Almost as if it was straight out of Hollywood, this Retired Extremely Dangerous (R.E.D.) group of heroes are a go for Pineapple Express, the sequel.
The Pineapple Express , a group of highly trained US military veterans who risked their lives conducting secret rescue missions behind the Biden State Department’s back, is going back to Afghanistan for the next phase of their mission — getting the hundreds of Americans left behind by Biden out, and bringing them back home.
During the first phase of their mission they were able to help almost 700 US citizens and allies get to their evacuation flights at the airport safely. The special operators used their contacts in and outside of Afghanistan to transport people safely and even worked with US troops on the ground who had to disobey orders to help the rogue rescue effort.
Our retired soldiers care more about trapped Americans than the current pudding-brained commander in chief who told active forces on the ground to “stand down.” Biden’s regime has not even made any public mention of the elite rescue team, and the operators will continue on without any official US military support.
According to the heroes: “Nobody else is coming.”
Scott Mann – a retired Green Beret and co-founder of the Pineapple Express – spoke with Breitbart news exclusively and explained the newfound urgency that has been created to rescue those left behind, after Biden shamelessly honored the Taliban deadline to end evacuation efforts.
Unlike the deliberately clueless State Department, Mann says there are hundreds of US citizens who are still stranded behind enemy lines.
“We’re having to move from what was a very network-centric starfish kind of thing to way more of a deliberate recovery. That focuses on two things, moving people to safety, getting them immediately out of harm’s way from retribution and targeting and then ultimately some of them to freedom.
Categorically, we’re looking at American citizens that are still a couple of hundred, at least, that are still in country.”
The rogue special operators efforts will also focus on assisting Afghan allied forces, at-risk individuals(women and children), prosecutors, judges, and any others who may have participated in activities that could make them targets of retaliation from the Taliban.
Now that Jihad-Joe armed their captors and bailed with his tail tucked between his legs, someone has to step up and help them.
Speaking of pathetic “leadership,” Mann also explained that his group has been receiving calls from the White House and the Joint Chiefs of Staff for help to get their specific people out.
“I’ve had calls from inside the White House in the West Wing and the Joint Chiefs to get their people out,” he said.
On the other side of the coin, The U.S. State Department has refused to honor requests by ‘Taskforce Pineapple’ to formally partner with their rogue efforts to get the remaining American citizens and Afghan SIV applicants out. They will not even provide support or help them at all.
“We need help. They [the State Department] can open the borders to Tajikistan. It’s very hard to get across and if we’re going to move people that’s one place we’d love to go. They could increase capacity in the embassies so that they’re ready to process.”
The State Department could allow private organizations to bring helicopters around the periphery of Afghanistan and fly people in duress out. The Biden administration could issue a presidential finding [to] keep the Pineapple Express rolling, with the the need for clandestine activities that would allow a private-public partnership to occur, where we are a citizen liaison network leveraging 20 years of relationships that we’ve already proven and working hand in glove with responsible DOD entities to honor the promise and get our people home.
I mean, those are some very specific things and very doable.”
Despite their best efforts to get assistance from US forces, they are on their own to clean up Biden’s mess.
So why is the White House calling them for anything?
Why don’t they suit up those Joint Chiefs and drop them out there to start rescuing “their people?” These Green Berets and Special Operators are too busy being heroes for the American People and their allies who need them.
What a joke. The terrorist’s deadline should never have been obeyed if there was just one American trapped behind enemy lines.. let alone the hundreds that are unaccounted for.
Now, because they are so frustrated with Biden abdicating his duty and leaving Americans to become prisoners of the Taliban, this group of retired veterans has to risk their lives AGAIN – with no support – to go back into the country they had already sacrificed so much in.
God bless these MEN, they are true heroes.
Americans are forever grateful for your service!
