‘Trust Us To Make Health Decisions For You,’ Says Government Health Agency That Can’t Define What A Woman Is — The Babylon Bee

ATLANTA, GA—The Director of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention issued a statement Friday reminding US citizens to trust the CDC to make important health decisions for them despite the agency’s glaring inability to use a single word that has defined 50% of the world’s population for millennia.

The CDC stressed the importance of having absolute faith in the agency when it comes to life-altering health decisions, while also proving repeatedly over the past 18 months how easily it can be bullied, manipulated, and politicized into misinforming, backtracking, even lying to the American people.

“Trust the Science,” said CDC Director Rochelle Walensky while dabbing beads of sweat from her forehead and looking over her shoulder at the pink-haired consultant holding a rainbow-colored binder labeled “Genders” in one hand and a taser in the other.

“When it comes to COVID-19, Far few wom—err—far few walking cell clump incubators have been vaccinated against the virus. We urge all impregnated cell division catalyzing stations to reduce their 100% risk of death by receiving the vaccine which has been proven to be 110% safe for all complex cellular growth transportation organisms.”

Following the statement, Director Walensky offered the press a warm smile while waiting for the consultant to remove the thumbscrew.

Doctrinally Sound Christian Men to Follow – 1 — Michelle Lesley

If you’re a long time follower, you’ve probably run across my article, A Few Good Men: 10 Doctrinally Sound Male Teachers. Well, it needed updating and a fresh coat of paint, so to speak, so that’s what this article is, in case it looks somewhat familiar. :0) I’ll be updating the subsequent articles in this series in the near future, and adding more great brothers to follow.

Ladies, the Christian retailing machine isn’t doing us any favors when it comes to Bible study and theology.

First, they’ve created the impression that in order to study God’s word, we have to buy a book, workbook, or DVD by a Christian author. Next, they show us the materials we have to choose from by cordoning off part of the store or web site under the heading “Women’s Bible Study.” Finally, they fill the shelves in that department with materials penned almost exclusively by women, the majority of whom (even at supposedly trustworthy Christian retailers) are false teachers.

Let’s think outside that box, shall we?

First, you do not have to use someone’s book to study the Bible. In fact, I recommend that you don’t. Just pick up your Bible and study it in a systematic way. Next, if you do decide to use a Bible study book or other resource, it does not have to be written by a woman (though there are some great female teachers at the Recommended Bible Teacherstab in the blue menu bar at the top of this page). If you limit yourself to women authors, you’re going to miss out on some wonderful teaching by the many doctrinally sound male teachers out there. Let me introduce you to a few of my favorite pastors and male authors of Bible studies and other great Christian books and resources.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Don’t take my (or anyone else’s) word for it that any ministry, podcast, book, or blog is biblical in its doctrine. You MUST do the work of comparing with Scripture everything you read and hear. If it doesn’t match up with God’s word (in context), chuck it.

Charles Spurgeon– “The Prince of Preachers,” Spurgeon was “England’s best-known preacher for most of the second half of the nineteenth century…Spurgeon frequently preached to audiences numbering more than 10,000.” Most of his works are still in print in both hardcover and e-book format, and many are available online for free. You may wish to use his commentaries to aid in your study of the Word. The brief devotions in Spurgeons’ Morning and Evening  are a favorite of many, and you’re sure to be edified by his many other books as well.  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram

John MacArthur– “John MacArthur is the pastor-teacher of Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California, as well as an author, conference speaker, president of The Master’s College and Seminary, and featured teacher with the Grace to You media ministry.” Dr. MacArthur has written approximately 400 books, including study guides, commenataries, Bible studies, and more. You might enjoy one of his free on line daily devotions, one of his study books, a sermon on the passage of Scripture you’re studying, or one of his books on a variety of biblical topics.  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram

Steve Lawson – A pastor for 34 years, Dr. Lawson is now founder and president of OnePassion Ministries, “a ministry designed to equip biblical expositors to bring about a new reformation in the church.” He serves on the board of Ligonier Ministries and The Master’s Seminary, where he is also Professor of Preaching. Dr. Lawson has written a plethora of books, from commentaries to preaching texts, to an interesting series of profiles of godly men of the past such as Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, William Tyndale, and others. Follow along with Dr. Lawson’s Bible study lessons on video, And, of course, you’ll want to listen in to his sermons Facebook  TwitterInstagram

Todd Friel– Todd is the host of the Wretched podcast and television show, an outstanding resource dealing with discernment, evangelism, the church, theological aspects of current events, and various other topics. “Witness Wednesday” (the weekly episode airing on Wednesdays) is a great way to get “boots on the ground” training in how to share the gospel. Todd has produced a myriad of materialsfor both churches and individuals on biblical topics such as marriage, church history, parenting, anxiety, pornography, and more.  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram

Paul Washer– An echo of Paul the Apostle, Paul Washer served as a missionary in Peru for ten years where he also founded the HeartCry Missionary Society. HeartCry now supports church planters in Peru and indigenous missionaries world wide. Paul is a challenging author and a sought after speaker who boldly exhorts the church. Be sure to explore his books, sermons, Bible study lessons, and videos.  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram

Voddie Baucham– “Voddie Baucham wears many hats. He is a husband, father, former pastor, author, professor, conference speaker, and church planter. He currently serves as Dean of Theology at African Christian University in Lusaka, Zambia.” Voddie specializes in cultural apologetics, and has been instrumental in shedding light on and pushing back against Critical Race Theory, among other issues, when speaking at conferences and other events. Listen to one of Voddie’s many fine sermons and check out his books and other materials on a variety of biblical topics.  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram

Chris Rosebrough– If you’re looking for Chris’ previously daily podcast, Fighting for the Faith, that pirate ship has sailed. Chris is still the head of Pirate Christian Radiowhere you can find oodles of useful articles and audio, but the Aletheia is now docked at the Port of YouTube where Chris creates informative discernment videos on a variety of false teachers, false doctrines, and current events in evangelicalism. He is also the pastor of Kongsvinger Lutheran Church in Oslo, Minnesota, and quite an accomplished photographer.  Facebook  TwitterInstagram

R. C. Sproul– “Dr. Sproul was founder of Ligonier Ministries, founding pastor of Saint Andrew’s Chapel in Sanford, Fla., first president of Reformation Bible College, and executive editor of Tabletalk magazine. His radio program, Renewing Your Mind, is still broadcast daily on hundreds of radio stations around the world and can also be heard online. He was author of more than one hundred books,” which you can find at Ligonier along with teaching materials on nearly any passage you’re studying, as well as other biblical books, music, and other resources.  Facebook  Twitter Instagram

Phil Johnson–  “Phil is the Executive Director of Grace to You. He has been closely associated with John MacArthur since 1981 and edits most of John’s major books…Phil was an editor at Moody Press before coming to Grace Community Church. He is an elder at Grace Community Church and pastors the GraceLife fellowship group.” Phil is an amazing lecturer and preacher with an incredible depth of knowledge of church and biblical history. You’ll enjoy the theological richness of Phil’s sermons (check out his “Bible Q & A” teachings) and be challenged by his blog articles at Pyromaniacs.  Facebook  Twitter

Alistair Begg– “Alistair Begg has been in pastoral ministry since 1975.” Formerly of Scotland, “in 1983, he became the senior pastor at Parkside Church near Cleveland, Ohio.  He has written several books and is heard daily and weekly on the radio program, Truth For Life.” Subscribe to the daily Truth for Life devotion or get the app, listen to a sermonon the passage of Scripture you’re studying, check in with the Truth for Life blog, or read one of Alistair’s fine books.  Facebook  Twitter  Instagram

You can always find these – and more great Christian men and women to follow – at the Recommended Bible Teachers tab in the blue menu bar at the top of this page.

October 1 Evening Quotes of The Day

Ruled by Meditation on the Life to Come
Titus 2:12–13; 2 Peter 3:11–13; Revelation 22:20

The life of a Christian is wondrously ruled in this world by the consideration and meditation of the life of another world.

Christ’s Servants Should Expect to Suffer
Matthew 10:22, 25; Luke 24; John 11:25; 15:20; Colossians 1:24; 2 Timothy 3:12; Revelation 13:8

The Lamb is slain from the foundation of the world.… Indeed, he did not only suffer in his body, but also through the cross and death entered into that glory which he, for a time, had left for our sakes.… If Christ then had to suffer such torture, anguish, misery and pain, how shall his servants, children and members expect peace and freedom from suffering while in the flesh?

Never Ashamed — VCY America

Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32)

Gracious promise! It is a great joy to me to confess my Lord. Whatever my faults may be, I am not ashamed of Jesus, nor do I fear to declare the doctrines of His cross. O Lord, I have not hid Thy righteousness within my heart.

Sweet is the prospect which the text sets before me! Friends forsake and enemies exult, but the Lord does not disown His servant. Doubtless my Lord will own me even here and give me new tokens of His favorable regard. But there comes a day when I must stand before the great Father. What bliss to think that Jesus will confess me then! He will say, “This man truly trusted Me and was willing to be reproached for My name’s sake; and therefore I acknowledge him as Mine.” The other day a great man was made a knight, and the Queen handed him a jeweled garter; but what of that? It will be an honor beyond all honors for the Lord Jesus to confess us in the presence of the divine Majesty in the heavens. Never let me be ashamed to own my Lord. Never let me indulge a cowardly silence or allow a fainthearted compromise. Shall I blush to own Him who promises to own me?

A Reason for Tears — Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God

“Why do we cry?  Tears are therapeutic. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning!

I am worn out from my groaning. All night long I flood my bed with weeping and drench my couch with tears:” Psalm 6:6

Why do we cry? My new granddaughter usually cries because of hunger, tiredness, a dirty diaper, or teething pain. Most of us cry because we are frustrated, hurting, depressed, weary, or unhealthy.

David’s sorrow led him to be worn out with weeping, to the point of “flooding his bed” and “drenching his couch with tears”. Can you identify with this kind of weeping? I can. At one particularly low point in my life, I cried every morning for a week!

Tears are therapeutic for preventing dryness and infection, supplying oxygen and nutrients, and healing damage. I would like to propose that they also have spiritual purposes: preventing spiritual dryness and sin’s infection of our spirits, supplying spiritual oxygen and nutrients to our soul, and healing our spiritual wounds!

The overall purpose of tears is that we might see better, both physically and spiritually! There is a song that came to mind as I was reflecting about the reason for the tears I’ve shed over the years of my life:

He washed my eyes with tears that I might see the broken heart I had was good for me. He tore it all apart and looked inside. He found it full of fear and foolish pride. He swept away the things that made me blind, and soon I saw the clouds were silver-lined. And now I understand ’twas best for me he washed my eyes with tears that I might see. (Lyrics by J Swaggart)

Father God, thank you for tears and for the way they bring me back to you! Help me to trust you when life does not go the way I wish it would, and please use my tears to keep me spiritually healthy and responsive to your Holy Spirit’s work. Amen.

If you find that you are crying a lot lately, here is a final encouragement from Psalms 30:5b: Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning! Trust God to bring healing and health from your grief and sadness, but know that he is also using your tears for his good purposes.

October 1 Afternoon Quotes of The Day

Not Faith that Saves, but Christ through Faith
Ephesians 2:8–9; 1 Peter 1:9

It is not, strictly speaking, even faith in Christ that saves, but Christ that saves through faith. The saving power resides exclusively, not in the act of faith or the attitude of faith or the nature of faith, but in the object of faith; and in this the whole biblical representation centres, so that we could not more radically misconceive it than by transferring to faith even the smallest fraction of that saving energy which is attributed in the Scriptures solely to Christ Himself.

Perfect Love and Perfect Hate
Isaiah 26:11; Matthew 13:42, 50; 22:13; 25:30; Luke 13:28; Revelation 19:6

Even as in the blessed in heaven there will be most perfect charity, so in the damned there will be the most perfect hate.

Black Lives Matter Killed 2,000 Black People
The Black Lives Matter movement and the allied criminal justice reform movement which opened jails and decriminalized crimes led to a nearly 30% surge in murders in 2020. The 29.4% increase is historically unprecedented. …in the year of Black Lives Matter, black people were disproportionately likely to be killed as a result of police defunding and the George Floyd Effect, as well as the pressure on the justice system to open up prisons, free criminals, and stop arresting new criminals in the name of fighting for the big lie of racial justice.

If CNN starts sounding like The Economic Collapse Blog, what does that mean? Unfortunately, the truth about what is in our immediate future is becoming apparent to everyone. Global supply chains are in a state of complete and utter chaos, and this is driving up prices and causing widespread shortages all over the country. Over the past couple of weeks, I have written five articles with either “shortage” or “shortages” in the title, and some have accused me of being a little alarmist. If that is the case, then CNN is being alarmist too, because one of their top stories today openly warned of a “global transport system collapse”…

IN TODAY’S DIGEST

FEATURED ANALYSIS

Journalist Shames Gold Star Family

An incident within the Capitol this week reminded us all of why we hate the media.

Douglas Andrews

“All of us learn to write in the second grade,” said legendary Indiana basketball coach and media scourge Bob Knight. “Then most of us go on to greater things.” Clearly, Politico co-congressional bureau chief Heather Caygle wasn’t one of them.

Caygle is feeling the heat for having taken to Twitter to shame the Gold Star family of Marine Corps Sergeant Nicole Gee, one of the 13 warriors killed in the August 26 suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan. You’ll remember Sergeant Gee:

What set Caygle off? Simply this: She saw some mask-free members of Gee’s family taking a Capitol tour hosted by their congressman, California Republican Tom McClintock. “Masks requirement in the House,” she scolded. “Tours not allowed. Yet here we are — group of 9, only 2 in masks.”

Never mind that in the picture Caygle posted, Statuary Hall appears to be empty but for the family and the congressman.

Here, normally, we’d mention that Caygle had no idea as to this family’s special status. But she doesn’t deserve this defense. When it was pointed out to her, she dug in her heels. “Instead of immediately being a tattletale,” replied one Steven Smith, “maybe ask some questions first. If you did, you would learn that this is the family of fallen Marine Sgt. Nicole Gee, getting a tour from their Congressman Tom McClintock. Maybe consider taking this tweet down.”

To which Caygle smarmily replied, “How does that exempt them from wearing a mask?”

Setting aside this family’s special status, though, doesn’t Caygle have anything better to do than tattle on visitors to the U.S. Capitol for the non-crime of not having worn their ceremonial face diapers?

And if not, if Caygle really does believe this to be such an egregious offense, then how did she manage to check her outrage when far more prominent people flouted that same rule earlier in the week?

As Indiana Republican Congressman Jim Banks rightly observed: “On Tuesday, Speaker Pelosi was hugging and shaking hands with over a dozen people without a mask. Not a word was reported from this journalist who is now smearing a Gold Star Family on a Capitol tour so far away she had to zoom in.”

In response to a request for comment, McClintock simply said “Res ipsa loquitur.” That’s a Latin legal phrase that translates to, “The thing speaks for itself.”

Indeed it does.

McAuliffe Sides With Teachers Unions Against Parents

As Virginia’s gubernatorial race enters its final month, Democrat McAuliffe is exposed as an authoritarian.

Thomas Gallatin

“I’m not going to let parents come into schools and actually take books out and make their own decisions,” declared Democrat candidate Terry McAuliffe during this week’s Virginia gubernatorial debate with Republican candidate Glenn Youngkin. He then added, “I don’t think parents should be telling schools what they should teach.”

Youngkin put it this way: “[McAuliffe] believes that government and politicians know better for our children than parents. He wants to exclude parents from being involved in educating our children.” The following day, when asked to respond, McAuliffe actually doubled down:

Listen, we have a board of ed working with the local school boards to determine the curriculum for our schools. You don’t want parents coming in every different school jurisdiction saying, “This is what should be taught here,” and, “This is what should be taught here.”

No, that’s exactly what parents should be demanding of their school boards. Schools work for the parents, not parents for the schools — or at least that’s how things used to work in this country. Clearly, McAuliffe, the longtime Clinton bag man, has his priorities set on placating the demands of the teachers unions, not the legitimate concerns of parents or the needs of students.

The race between McAuliffe and Youngkin has remained uncomfortably tight for the former Democrat governor, with recent polling indicating a toss-up with just over a month to Election Day. And as Youngkin has recently picked up steam in the home stretch, he has hit upon what could be the deciding issue of the election for the Republican to win the northern Virginia DC suburbs.

Loudoun County in particular has become the national epicenter for parents calling out school boards over Critical Race Theory and “transgender” ideology. Youngkin has exposed McAuliffe as the candidate opposed to parents because his loyalties lie with the teachers unions, and because he wants children indoctrinated into the ideology of the Left rather than educated on the sound principles of a classical liberal education.

Effectively, the message McAuliffe is sending to Virginia parents is I know better than you what’s best for your kids, so shut up and accept my diktats. As Youngkin insightfully notes, “[McAuliffe’s] worldview is ‘I know better than you,’ and yet it doesn’t have to apply to me. We saw it just a couple weeks ago when he’s been calling for mask mandates, and then he boards a train and violates federal law and won’t even put a mask on.”

Meanwhile, Youngkin sees this as the issue that could take him into the governor’s mansion. He has come out preaching the message of school choice, pitching a plan to significantly increase the number of charter schools in the state. Virginia currently ranks among the lowest in the country for its number of charter schools.

Many on both sides of the aisle view Virginia’s gubernatorial race as a bellwether. If McAuliffe is able to win, all the Democrats will have accomplished is to simply hold serve in an apparently solid blue state. But a Youngkin victory would turn this prevailing view on its head, serving as an ill omen for Democrats and indicating just how strong are the headwinds they face in 2022.

X-Rated Adult Books Packaged for Children

“Education” literature increasingly contains content that is explicit, pornographic, and obscene.

Emmy Griffin

There are a plethora of books being presented in schools as part of a social/emotional learning curriculum, sometimes referred to as SEL. These books offer characters of diverse backgrounds and worldviews and are meant to help students understand and even identify with their stories. Initially, this curriculum may have been introduced as a means of helping students understand and learn about other cultures, socioeconomic circumstances, or religious beliefs to prevent bullying. But however well-intentioned, it has been hijacked by activist teachers.

The issue now, more than ever, is that these books increasingly contain content that is explicit, pornographic, obscene, profane, and full of horror that leads to a character’s suicide. Parents are now finding out about these books from other parents across the country and are investigating with the vain hope that it’s not in their own child’s school.

Last week, a Virginia mom from Fairfax County confronted the school board after discovering these books were available in her high schooler’s library. Two of these books contain material that was pedophilic and graphic. She said: “This is not about being anti-gay, anti-trans, or whatever. I would have been there and said every single word I said if this had been the depiction of a heterosexual couple with heterosexual acts — pornography is pornography, and I don’t care what the gender is. And by the way, it’s even worse that the pornography involves children. That takes it to a whole other level of evil.”

She recited some of the passages at the meeting. Ironically, though, the oblivious school board cut off her mic, saying there were children present. If it’s something you’d be horrified to have read aloud at a public meeting, you should be equally horrified to know it’s available at your high schooler’s library — which is exactly this mother’s point.

In Texas, there were two different incidents where moms went to the school board about books their middle school-aged children were being asked to read. The first mother, Kara Bell, found a sexually explicit passage in a book called Out of Darkness by Ashley Hope Pérez. It describes acts that no high schooler, let alone middle schooler, should be exposed to. This mother was irate as she confronted the board.

In the second instance, Texas mom Sherry Clemens had to confront her child’s school board after attempts to go to the teacher, principal, and district were proven ineffective. She had very grave concerns about the books her gifted middle school child was asked to read. The first red flag was when her child brought home a reading list, and seven of the books needed a permission slip. The next red flag was when her daughter mentioned that she herself was concerned, which was the impetus for Ms. Clemens to start investigating. After researching and reading these books, the mother found there was explicit sexual content, sexual violence, obscenity, books with LGBTQ+ material, and instances of suicide. Understandably, she brought her concerns to the teacher (who has yet to meet with her), the principal, the district, and finally, since no actions were being taken, the school board.

There are other instances that only make the local news, but more parents across the country are actively searching for these books that are clearly inappropriate for their children. Which should be a good thing, right? Unfortunately, at a Virginia gubernatorial debate this week, the Democrat candidate staunchly disagreed. Terry McAuliffe feels that parents should not be allowed to interfere in what schools are teaching their children. He thinks it is demeaning toward the teachers and that parents should just let them be. This despite the two candidates discussing the incident of the Virginia mother regarding pedophilic books. Monstrous.

If a politician has the audacity to try to take away your rights as parents in your child’s education, that should be a huge wake-up call. There is great and terrible power in books with bad ideas. The more these inappropriate books are exposed and taken out of the hands of these vulnerable kids, the better. But to McAuliffe’s point, parental interference is the only stopgap to cultural depravity and teachers with an agenda.

Where’s That Flood of Evictions?

After the CDC’s moratorium was lifted, renters are … still in their homes.

Brian Mark Weber

For many Americans, it’s time to pay the rent again.

That’s a frightening proposition for people months behind in their obligations to landlords. And just when it’s time to go back to work, new vaccine mandates might just keep them off the payrolls for months to come.

It didn’t have to be this way.

State governments across the country didn’t have to put millions of people out of work. They created a crisis, and they continue to make it worse for the rest of us.

As Barack Obama’s former chief of staff, Rahm Emmanuel, once said: “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that [is] it’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

One of those opportunities included allowing the Centers for Disease Control to wield power it was never intended to have when it imposed a nationwide moratorium on evictions in September 2020. No matter if tenants hadn’t paid rent, landlords couldn’t evict them. Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden both oversaw extension after extension, with Biden admitting the policy wouldn’t pass “constitutional muster” all the while giving it the go-ahead one more time.

Finally, the Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision last month that the policy exceeded the CDC’s authority and needed congressional approval. The Court’s majority opinion rebuked the Beltway bureaucrats by saying, “It strains credulity to believe that this statute grants the C.D.C. the sweeping authority that it asserts.” Sweeping authority for the federal government to essentially abrogate private contracts doesn’t exist.

It’s too little, too late for landlords who’ve collectively lost literally billions of dollars in unpaid rent.

According to Howard Husock of the American Enterprise Institute, “A $2.4 billion rental assistance program aimed at helping tenants pay their landlords has given funds to fewer than 5 percent of applicants since its start in June.” In a classic case of ineptitude, the government can’t even efficiently disburse the money it allocates.

“A system that requires both tenants and landlords to complete complex forms is the enemy of both,” Husock adds. “Only $156 million has trickled out to date.” He argues: “There’s a better way: Trust the landlords. Get rid of the red tape and substitute a simple, legally binding declaration by property owners of the amount their rental income has declined — tied to a promise not to evict tenants for nonpayment.”

Any solution is better than what we have right now. As for tenants, the situation is not as bad as the Left predicted when the moratorium was lifted.

Even The Washington Post admits that: “Housing experts mentioned a slew of devastating metaphors — cliff, tsunami, tidal wave — to describe the national eviction crisis they saw coming. One month later, however, many of those same authorities find themselves wondering: Where is the cliff?”

The Post explains that the predicted wave of evictions simply didn’t happen: “In major metropolitan areas, the number of eviction filings has dropped or remained flat since the Supreme Court struck down the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention moratorium on Aug. 26, according to experts and data collected by the Eviction Lab at Princeton University. In cities around the country, including Cleveland, Memphis, Charleston and Indianapolis, eviction filings are well below their pre-pandemic levels.”

And data provided by the Atlanta Regional Commission indicates that landlords are filing less paperwork to evict tenants than they did back in 2019 when the economy was strong and COVID hadn’t arrived.

The Left makes landlords out to be heartless misers itching to toss families out onto the streets, but many rental properties are owned by middle-class Americans who also have bills to pay. Now that the moratorium has ended, it’s becoming clear that landlords are being patient and understanding. If renters want to blame anyone, they should look no further than state and federal governments.

So far, evictions are not increasing and there is no tidal wave. But we’ve all learned — or should have learned — an important lesson: The government ruins everything it touches, and it’s time for political leaders and bureaucrats to fix a crisis they created in the first place by getting out of the way.

Why All the ‘Unexpected’ Jobless Claims?

COVID clampdowns made a comeback in September, hurting the jobs market.

Nate Jackson

There are nearly 11 million job openings in America right now. Yet week after week we’re treated to mainstream media headlines about how jobless claims rose “unexpectedly.” The September jobs report isn’t due out until next Friday, but in the meantime, we know that the American employment picture is still not great. Why?

If 11 million positions are open, and if enhanced jobless benefits that kept people unemployed have finally ended, why have the last three reports on weekly jobless claims featured “unexpected” increases? Yesterday, it was 362,000. Last week, it was 351,000, and the week before, it was 332,000. Continuing claims are now at 2.84 million.

“With enhanced unemployment benefits coming to a close,” reports CNBC, “the total of those enrolled under all programs fell to 11.25 million, a drop of 856,440. A year ago, 26.6 million were receiving benefits under programs the government had developed to combat massive pandemic-related layoffs.”

Hmm, 11 million “enrolled under all programs,” with 11 million job openings. Just saying.

Recent reports are a far cry from the millions of weekly jobless claims we were seeing when government officials were shuttering (mostly small) businesses for 15 days to stop the COVID spread. You’d think the jobs market would be going gangbusters nearly 600 days later.

Perhaps therein lies the answer. September featured a regression in lots of places in terms of dealing with the coronavirus. Governments, schools, and businesses all clamped down again in the face of spiking cases. While hospitals are dealing with an increased load of COVID cases, they’re firing nurses over vaccination status. Other businesses are doing likewise, thanks in part to Joe Biden’s mandate.

Ergo, more unemployed people, and fewer jobs filled.

This persistently off-kilter jobs market is a major contributing factor to inflation. If businesses can’t get people to make, deliver, or sell their products, those products are going to be delayed and cost more.

According to the latest figures, inflation is up by the most in 30 years. “The rate of inflation in the 12 months ended in August edged up to 4.3% from 4.2%,” reports MarketWatch, “the highest rate since 1991.” And the Commerce Department says the April through June quarter saw the worst inflation since 1982. It’s eased only very slightly since then.

While the Federal Reserve has spent most of this year insisting that inflation is “transitory,” there are finally rumblings from central bankers who, MarketWatch says, “acknowledged inflation could remain high well into 2022 because of ongoing shortages of crucial business supplies and and even labor.”

With Joe Biden trying to take the absolute worst of Barack Obama, Jimmy Carter, Lyndon Johnson, and Franklin Roosevelt, it’s a big question whether the economic picture will improve much in the foreseeable future.

Behind Biden’s Border Patrol Vaccine Mandate

Already taxed border agents will now be forced to get the COVID vaccine or risk termination.

Thomas Gallatin

A whistleblower in the Department of Homeland Security has alleged that the Biden administration will soon require Customs and Border Protection officers to receive the COVID vaccine or face termination.

Republican Representative Jim Jordan (OH) responded to the allegations with some stern words for Team Biden: “The people who have been busting their tails, enforcing our law, doing their job on the border, they’re gonna get fired if they don’t take the vaccine. Meanwhile, for people who break the law and come in here, no big deal, your choice [to take the vaccine], it’s up to you. That is how ridiculous the Biden administration has become.”

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas recently confirmed that apprehended illegal aliens are given the choice as to whether they want the COVID vaccine or not.

In a letter sent to Mayorkas, Jordan noted: “For years and through multiple administrations, it has been difficult to recruit and retain men and women to service the U.S. Border Patrol. The locations of the job are typically remote and the job is often dangerous and hard.” That’s especially so when Joe Biden and company spread “false accusations of cruelty” against illegal immigrants at the hands of Border Patrol officers.

So, the Biden administration has created yet another factor contributing to an already elevated Border Patrol attrition rate. It’s almost as if Biden’s goal is to hamstring Border Patrol by reducing the number of agents, which would critically hamper the ability to police the border, depressing morale further among the remaining agents. It will also artificially reduce the number of illegal immigrants apprehended, while at the same time increasing the number of illegals who get in unnoticed. That’s a pretty dastardly way to ensure that Scranton Joe won’t face headlines about quite so many illegal border crossings.

“If that isn’t the goal of a borderless hemisphere, if that isn’t deliberate, I don’t know what is,” Jordan concluded. “So this is again what is so scary, what is so frightening about this administration — this is what they must want because there is no other conclusion a rational person can reach.” Indeed, Biden invited this chaos as part of a larger strategy. But we’re supposed to think he cares because he’s demanding Border Patrol agents get vaccinated?

[VIDEO] Rand Paul Just Publicly Humiliated Biden’s HHS Secretary Over COVID Misinformation | LifeZette

The one true COVID truth warrior, who has beaten a drum of facts is Rand Paul.

Rand is a doctor himself, so he’s the best person right now to be out there seeking the truth.

And he’s not holding back – he certainly can be credited with bringing down fraud Fauci, and his latest target is Biden’s HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra, who he shredded limb from limb in a public flogging that is one for the record books.

Real Clear Politics reported that Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) challenges HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra on the Biden administration’s vaccine mandates and says the science is against Biden when it comes to naturally acquired immunity for those who have already had COVID-19.

“The science is against you on this. The science is clear. Naturally-acquired immunity is as good as a vaccine,” Paul said. “This isn’t an argument against the vaccine, but it’s an argument for letting people make a decision who already have immunity.”

“Mr. Becerra, are you familiar with an Israeli study that had 2.5 million patients and found that the vaccinated group was actually seven times more likely to get infected with Covid than the people who had gotten Covid naturally?”

“I’m not familiar with that,” Becerra replied.

“I think you might want to be if you’re going to travel the country insulting the millions of Americans, including NBA star Jonathan Isaac, who had Covid, recovered, look at a study with 2.5 million people, and say, well, you know what, I should make the decision. Instead, you’ve called Jonathan Isaac and others, myself included, flat earthers. We find that very insulting… Are you a doctor or a medical doctor?”

“I have worked for over 30 years on health policy,” Becerra said.

Paul said: “You’re not a medical doctor. Do you have a science degree? And yet you travel the country, calling people flat earthers, who have had Covid, looked at studies of millions of people, and made their own personal decision that their immunity they naturally acquired is sufficient but you presume somehow to tell over 100 million Americans who survived Covid that we have no right to determine our own medical care. You alone are on high and you’ve made these decisions, a lawyer with no scientific background, no medical degree. This is an arrogance coupled with an authoritarianism that is unseemly and un-American.”

“You, sir, are the one ignoring the science.”

You can watch the video below:

I can’t imagine in what worse shape we’d be in right now if we didn’t have Rand Paul fighting for us.

He’s one man, standing between us, and a massive political propaganda scheme that is so big and so powerful, it has totally encompassed our entire world.

Thank God for Dr. Rand Paul, and let’s hope he keeps at it, because we need a lot more of this.
