City of Peace | Today in the Word Devotional

For thousands of years Jews and Christians have made pilgrimages to Jerusalem. It is easy to understand why. Jerusalem plays a central role in both the Old and New Testaments. It is the place where Abraham was called to sacrifice Isaac, where David brought the ark of the covenant, where the Temple was built, where Jesus was crucified, and where Pentecost took place. In the Old Testament it was the place where God chose to dwell (Deut. 12:4–5; Ps. 135:21). Three times a year, Israelites were to make a pilgrimage to Jerusalem to worship at the Temple. These times were a high point in their lives, “I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the LORD.” (v. 1). To become close to the presence of the Lord was a privilege and a joy. Part of the reason for Israel’s joy was the unity brought by worshiping together. David describes Jerusalem as a city “closely compacted together” (v. 3). That might sound like urban congestion to us, but it was a positive image for him. God’s people were united in Jerusalem to “praise the name of the LORD” in obedience to His Word (v. 4). The psalm ends with a prayer for peace. This is a play on the name “Jerusalem,” which means “city of peace.” Peace in Hebrew means more than just the absence of conflict. It is a rich concept that means things are the way they should be. Our relationship with God, one another, and the world is as it was designed to be. It is a prayer for wholeness, abundance, and integrity. >> Are you longing for a fresh infusion of hope? This psalm looks forward to a time when all things will be made new. We will be in the very presence of God in the New Jerusalem and there will be “no more death or mourning or crying or pain” (Rev. 21:4). Amen, come Lord Jesus.

We must not expect to see an immediate reward for all the good we do; nor must we always confine our efforts to places and persons which seem likely to yield us a recompense for our labors. The Egyptian casts his seed upon the waters of the Nile, where it might seem a sheer waste of corn. But in due time the flood subsides, the rice or other grain sinks into the fertile mud, and rapidly a harvest is produced. Let us today do good to the unthankful and the evil. Let us teach the careless and the obstinate. Unlikely waters may cover hopeful soil. Nowhere shall our labor be in vain in the Lord.

It is ours to cast our bread upon the waters; it remains with God to fulfill the promise “Thou shalt find it.” He will not let His promise fail. His good word which we have spoken shall live, shall be found, shall be found by us, Perhaps not just yet, but some day we shall reap what we have sown. We must exercise our patience, or perhaps the Lord may exercise it. “After many days,” says the Scripture, and in many instances those days run into months and years, and yet the Word stands true. God’s promise will keep; let us mind that we keep the precept and keep it this day.

In those early days, bands of robbers were numerous; and even in our own time does not the life of animal strife, the seizure of all desirable things by sheer brute strength, does not this have some appeal for youth when strength first waxes full within the body?

‎Therefore the teacher speaks in warning:

‎“If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:

‎“Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse:

‎“My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path:

‎“For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. “Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.”

‎Such a life, we are warned, has always led to retributive punishment. Men of violence come to violent ends.

Leading in a Storm — Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God

I met  with a Christian leader, and we got onto the topic, How do you lead in a storm?  How do you lead a church or organization or ministry or business or family in times of hardship, conflict and crisis, so that everyone comes out the other side stronger, wiser, better?

Well, here’s the answer in 2 easy steps – Of course, it’s not that easy. Not quite.  But it’s maybe easier than we think.

First, much of the Bible narrates and gives specific guidance for this very thing.  Most of the stories of biblical leadership “ Joseph, Moses, Joshua, Esther, Nehemiah, Paul, Jesus, and many more“ are stories of leading in a storm.  Joseph survives his brothers’ evil and rescues his brothers from their plight, and in the meanwhile saves a whole country from disaster.

Moses faces down Pharaoh.  Joshua faces down Jericho.  Nehemiah overcomes seemingly insurmountable odds to rebuild a city’s walls and a community’s hope.  Paul endures a juggernaut of opposition to fulfill his mission.  And Jesus, for the joy set before him, endured the cross, scorning its shame.Or just look at history: all great leaders were refined in fire, tested by storm.  All of these examples are there for us to glean their lessons.

Second, the deepest reality is that God is bigger than your storm.  He’s bigger than any storm.  If we don’t believe this, we’ll be like the disciples (many who were fishermen and should have been used to storms) panicking by the wind and the waves.  If we do believe it, we’ll walk on water.

Are you in a storm?  At work?  In your home?  In your finances?  Take courage from leaders who’ve gone before you and weathered storms, most worse than yours.

And take strength in knowing God is bigger than any and every storm, yours included.

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

I pressed my hand on my belly, nothing. I tried moving around, drinking something cold, nothing. My unborn child had either been quiet for quite a while or something was wrong. I had two choices ? panic or faith.

Perhaps you have the same choice right now in dealing with a situation in your life. I discovered in the fourth chapter of the letter to the Philippian church, (verses 4-9), a formula that can help us beat anxiety if we accept its words by faith and put them into practice.

Paul invites us to rejoice in God, not to be anxious, and to bring all matters to the Lord in prayer. Next he tells us to make it a habit of choosing where we place our thoughts, and on what we feed them. Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy — that is to be our focus.

When my baby went quiet, I decided to believe that my baby would “not die but live, and would proclaim what the Lord has done” (Psalm 118:17). Then I went to the doctor’s office and was happy to hear her beautiful heartbeat coming through the machine. I am aware that the outcome could have been different, but I decided from then on to deal with things as they came from the point of view of faith, not panic. One step at a time is more than enough for me to handle.

For you, it may be choosing to remember the good in someone who’s hurt you, and choosing to make peace with them. Maybe it is deciding to trust that God is holding the airplane you are about to board in His care and has commanded His angels to watch over you. Or perhaps it is accepting that He loves you beyond what you could ever imagine. So, if you’ve messed up, you can choose to believe it’s not over and turn to Him again, knowing He is not finished with you yet.

Father, I come to you because I need your help. I want my thoughts to be aligned with yours. I want my mind to be transformed. Teach me to choose faith over panic. Remind me of your truth when darkness fills my thinking. Remind me of your love when I cease to believe it. Hold me close to you. I love you, Lord. Amen.

‎Proverbs are necessarily of the earth; they express the deeps of worldly experience rather than the heights of spiritual inspiration. The writer of wisdom has learned, and he proclaims to us, the worth and value of morality as a rule of conduct in this life, insisting upon his doctrines almost without appeal to the life beyond. The aim of the Book of Proverbs is thus, as its own words tell us, “To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.”

‎“A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.”

‎The proverbs are to be “dark sayings” over the deeper meanings of which we must ponder; we must meditate long if we would garner all their value.

The official start to the 2022 Atlantic Hurricane season isn’t until June 1, but officials are already tracking some activity in the tropics. According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC), a tropical wave has developed near the west coast of Africa. “Tropical wave guidance has it moving westward over the next 24-48 hours, passing well to the south of the Cabo Verde Islands.”

Minnesota schools could teach that police started as slave patrols, policy fellow says
Minnesota students may soon be taught that their police departments originated as slave patrols, according to a policy fellow from the Center of the American Experiment. President Bidenflation Blames Everyone Else

Inflation is up 8.3%, but the man most responsible has nothing but scapegoats.

8.3% inflation is now good news. Think about that one for a moment.

Today’s inflation report is terrible news, of course, because for yet another month under Joe Biden, inflation is sky high. And even though April’s 8.3% annualized rate is less than March’s 8.5% — the first monthly decline in eight months — it once again exceeded the expectations of “experts,” the economic dolts who continue to be unable to see what the rest of us do quite clearly.

Bad news: According to The Wall Street Journal, “The so-called core-price index — which excludes the often-volatile categories of food and energy — increased 0.6% on the month, a sharp pickup from March’s 0.3% gain.” In other words, the prices most people are affected by increased even faster in April than in March.

More bad news: Much of what caused inflation to ease a bit in April was moderating gas prices. Yet gas prices are back up in May, hitting a nominal record yesterday and breaking that record again today at $4.40 a gallon.

Has inflation peaked? It’s hard to tell, but when the economy is experiencing shortages of basics like baby formula, it sure doesn’t feel like it.

Never fear, though, the man who made this mess reassured an anxious nation yesterday by garbling a deceitful teleprompter message and taking no responsibility for anything. About the only thing Biden said that was true is this: “I know that families all across America are hurting because of inflation.”

The rest was a hash of either unintelligible Bidenisms or blame-casting:

“The number one threat is the strength, and and uh that strength that we built is inflation.”

“We control all three branches of government. Well, we don’t really.”

“I think our policies help, not hurt.”

“Republicans love to attack me as a big spender, as if that’s the reason why inflation has gone up.”

“It’s not because of spending. We brought down the deficit.” (We noted two days ago why that claim is a lie.)

So whose fault is it?

Biden blamed “a once-in-a-century pandemic” that “shut down our global economy.” No, politicians shut down our economy. He also blamed “Mr. Putin’s war in Ukraine.” To be sure, the war has put intense upward pressure on gas and food prices, but Putin invaded because he knew Biden is weak, and in any case the U.S. economy could withstand it better if Biden wasn’t shutting down American oil production and redirecting even more food (corn) into our gas tanks — the latter of which he counterfactually touted as something that will “drive down prices.”

He called the pandemic and Putin the “two leading causes of inflation,” but he had a third villain: “The Ultra-MAGA Agenda.” Note that anytime a leftist puts the word “ultra” in front of something conservative, it’s meant to scare people, not to inform them.

Here it’s also meant to deceive. Biden cast it as a choice. His plan, he said, is “to lower employer — lower everyday costs for — everyday costs for hardworking families and lower the deficit by asking large corporations and the wealthiest Americans to not engage in price gouging and to pay their fair share in taxes.”

By contrast, he warned, “The Republican plan is to increase taxes on the middle-class families and let billionaires and large companies off the hook as they raise profit and — raise prices and reap profits at record number — record amounts.”

He’s conveniently referring to an ill-advised plan from Senator Rick Scott of Florida, not Wisconsin, as Biden said. “All Americans should pay some income tax to have skin in the game, even if a small amount,” Scott said in February. Democrats predictably cast that general policy idea as a specific plan to raise taxes on millions of Americans. The truth is that Democrats do plan to raise taxes on millions of Americans by allowing the 2017 Republican tax cuts to expire.

Republicans, Biden said, “don’t want to solve inflation by lowering your costs, they want to solve it by raising your taxes and lowering your income.” It is Biden’s inflation that has wages failing to keep up.

Back to that deficit canard, Biden did in fact proclaim another truth: “Reducing the deficit is one of the main ways we can ease inflationary pressures.” The problem is his deficit “reduction” is entirely an accident of timing combined with a failure to pass his $3.5 trillion Build Back Better agenda.

And here’s the other inconvenient truth: Yes, a lot of reckless COVID spending happened on Donald Trump’s watch, though he was dealing with a Democrat-controlled Congress writing that legislation. But it wasn’t until Biden’s $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan redistributed so much more “free” money after the recovery was already well under way that inflation really began to take off. When Trump left office, inflation was still 1.4% and gas was $2.39 a gallon.

Biden says, “I want every American to know that I’m taking inflation very seriously and it’s my top domestic priority.” That may be the most terrifying thing he said.

These Mobs Are Wrong AND Illegal

The president appears unwilling to control the leftist mobs in his midst.

Remember when, back in 1973, that mob of pro-life zealots surrounded the home of Supreme Court Justice Harry Blackmun after he authored the High Court’s Roe v. Wade opinion, which guaranteed a woman’s right to an abortion?

Or the time, back in 1992, when similar mobs set up camps at the homes of Sandra Day O’Connor, Anthony Kennedy, and David Souter, directing shouts of “Shame!” and “Baby killer!” toward the three associate justices who coauthored the court’s plurality opinion in Planned Parenthood v. Casey, which upheld Roe?

Neither do we. Because these things never happened. That’s in part because any effort to intimidate a judge is illegal. As columnist Marc Thiessen notes: “Federal law — Section 1507 of Title 18 of the U.S. Code — clearly states that it is unlawful to protest near a ‘residence occupied or used by [a] judge, juror, witness, or court officer’ with the intent of influencing ‘the discharge of his duty,’ adding that anyone who ‘uses any sound-truck or similar device or resorts to any other demonstration in or near any such building or residence, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both.’”

In short: It’s obstruction of justice. It’s no different than tampering with witnesses or a jury. (Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says he’s comfortable with obstruction of justice. “If protests are peaceful, yes. My house, there’s protests 3-4 times a week outside my house.” Same with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who seems thrilled by “how so many have channeled their righteous anger into meaningful action.”)

But more than simply knowing and respecting the law, we on the Right routinely avoid mob behavior because — let’s just say it — we hold ourselves to higher standards of decency than those on the Left.

We on the Right don’t mob up and terrorize others when things don’t go our way. We don’t. We’re not like thuggish Democrat Congresswoman Maxine Waters. We’re not like the aforementioned Chuck Schumer.

Even those on the fringes of the Right know the difference between, say, storming a government building to protest a stolen election and invading a quiet residential neighborhood to intimidate a judge and terrorize his family — or, for that matter, to do the same to a Fox News personality and his family.

But you already knew all this. You already had a deeply felt belief that a person’s home is sacred.

What about our president, though? You know, Joe Biden. Does he think our homes are sacred, inviolable? After all, he’s the guy who during his inaugural address said: “My whole soul is in this. Bringing America together. Uniting our people. And uniting our nation.”

He’s the guy who also said: “We can see each other not as adversaries but as neighbors. We can treat each other with dignity and respect. We can join forces, stop the shouting, and lower the temperature. For without unity, there is no peace, only bitterness and fury. No progress, only exhausting outrage. No nation, only a state of chaos.”

He’s the guy who promised to be “a president for all Americans” and pledged to “fight as hard for those who did not support me as for those who did.”

So much for all that. “Unity,” he snarled.

Aside from his hollow pledges to unite us, though, what about abiding by his Oath of Office? Remember: He swore to “faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and … preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

Maybe he’s just too busy unifying us with bridge-building words such as, “This MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history — in recent American history.”

Maybe he’s just thinking of ways to fold that “ultra-MAGA agenda” into his own “America Last” platform.

The sad truth is, Joe Biden has lost control of the country. He’s like a tiny ship on a stormy ocean. He’s at the mercy of events. As our Nate Jackson wrote earlier this week:

Conservative justices are canceling speeches, being targeted in their homes, and condemning the leak and the attempted intimidation. The Leftmedia is busy gaslighting about right-wing violence and blaming a right-wing leaker. And the White House is practically approving of the mob and sitting on its hands regarding prosecuting the leaker. Every day that goes by waiting on the Court to issue its opinion is fraught with political peril.

Peril indeed. A Wisconsin pro-life group’s office was fire-bombed early Sunday and vandalized with abortion-themed graffiti. It only takes one nutcase, one leftist lunatic, to be the next James Hodgkinson.

Get a grip on your country, Mr. President. Enforce the Rule of Law. Or resign your office.

  • More of the radical Left vs. parents: Parents in Barrington, Rhode Island, are fit to be tied following the school board’s decision to eliminate honors classes. During the early days of the COVID pandemic, the Barrington District School Board adopted an “equity and inclusion” agenda that involved the implementation of a de-leveling system eliminating honors-level classes in an effort to “equalize” students. The result of this de-leveling agenda has been a drop in Barrington’s public schools’ educational ranking. Prior to the de-leveling, U.S. News in 2019 ranked the district’s schools #189. Two years later, the district has dropped to #308. At a recent school board meeting, irate parents voiced their opposition to the “equity” agenda, with many noting how it was costing their children merit-based scholarship opportunities. One mother complained, “My daughter has lost out on opportunities which could affect merit scholarships for her, which I think is appalling.” Another parent noted that his own parents were immigrants from Mexico who did not speak a word of English, and he challenged the notion that the board actually considered those whom it was claiming to assist. “If you guys really believe in [equity], then pick an average or below-average dentist and see what you get,” he said. “But you guys get the ratings, and you pick the best that’s available.” Legal Insurrection founder Bill Jacobson observed where the district’s decision came from: “De-leveling is part of an agenda of equalizing outcomes. This equal-results approach stems from critical race theory and diversity, equity and inclusion, which posit that unequal outcomes are the result of systemic bias and discrimination.”
  • Thirty-five percent increase in number of cops shot: We’re five months into 2022, and the number of police officers who have been shot in the line of duty so far is 123, which represents a 35% increase over this time last year. Of those officers who were shot, 19 have died. If the trend holds, this year would end up worse than 2021, when 346 officer where shot and 63 killed. Numbers like this haven’t been seen since the 1990s. Data shows that prior to 2020, the number of police officers attacked and shot had been steadily declining, but over the past two years the trend has dramatically reversed. Of course, Black Lives Matter’s anti-police rhetoric, which has been widely trumpeted by leftist politicians, has much to do with the sudden turn-around. Demonizing police only serves to encourage those with already nefarious motives to feel justified in fighting police. Coinciding with the attacks on cops have been spiking violent crime rates across the country, especially in Democrat-run cities.

The CDC/MSM ‘Gun Homicide’ Propaganda

Fact: Guns don’t commit homicide; violent thugs do.

If you have seen any of the Democrats’ Leftmedia headlines this morning, you know that the CDC released a study on “Firearm Homicide and Suicide Rates” for 2020. A quick search finds hundreds of headlines asserting, “Gun homicides spiked 35%,” or some variation on the theme that guns committed the crimes. You know, because it’s a “gun problem.”

For the record, the CDC is the primary repository for national mortality data, and despite the CDC’s politically adulterated and grossly flawed COVID death data, in “normal” years the CDC has done a reasonable job of accumulating data on deaths. One would think homicide data should be maintained by the Department of Justice, but the FBI’s annual crime data is deeply flawed and has been for years.

Thus, as our analyst Thomas Gallatin noted previously, predictably, under the Biden/Harris regime, the CDC has increasingly become a political agenda enforcer. The regime has now charged the CDC with a key role in solving the “gun violence epidemic.”

Of the latest data dump, CDC Director Rochelle Walensky declared, “The tragic and historic increase in firearm homicide and the persistently high rates of firearm suicide underscore the urgent need for action.” Get ready for a BIG Gov pivot from COVID mandates to firearm mandates. Walensky previously said: “Something has to be done about [gun violence]. Now is the time — it’s pedal to the metal time.”

While the CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control director, Debra Houry, insists that advocating for political agendas is something the “CDC does not do and has never done,” that assertion has been blown apart in the last two years.

Recall that Biden has repeatedly claimed our nation is besieged with an epidemic of “gun violence” given the surge in criminal violence.

Our nation is besieged with an epidemic of cultural violence, most of it urban, which is the direct result of generations of failed statist Democrat policies that have eroded our culture from top to bottom. Demo policies have created generations of poor Americans and enslaved them on urban poverty plantations in every major city nationwide — modern-day plantations that are the locus of much of our nation’s cultural devolution. The devastating consequences of the institutionalization of poverty play out in an endless loop of daily violence.

The fact is, violent crime is a culture problem, not a gun problem, but for Demos, suggesting there is a culture problem would undermine their entire political platform.

According to the CDC, assailants murdering people with guns jumped 35% in 2020 to 19,350, which coincided with the first year of the government-mandated ChiCom Virus pandemic shutdowns. Thus, the CDC insists, “The COVID-19 pandemic might have exacerbated existing social and economic stressors that increase risk for homicide and suicide, particularly among certain racial and ethnic communities.” In other words, “increase risk” where the vast majority of violent crime occurs in any year.

The problem with that conclusion is that there was little change in 2020 suicides in which the deceased used a firearm. So what could have caused the surge in homicides?

What the CDC did not mention, first and foremost, is that guns don’t commit homicide; violent thugs do.

The study does not take into account the fact that 2020 was the year Demo hate-hustlers launched their BIG “Systemic Racism” Lie, fueling a violent summer of rage featuring their Marxist Black Lives Matter radicals and their so-called antifa movement fascists — and they cheered them on. It only tangentially references “strains in law enforcement-community relations.” This was all orchestrated just ahead of the 2020 election with the intended results.

The CDC also did not mention the Demos’ defund-police movement, which is clearly linked to surging violence and resulted in a violent war on cops — police assaults and killings are already up 43% this year.

Apparently, promoting “gun violence” is, in effect, a Democrat Party policy — bloody fodder for its efforts to undermine the Second Amendment, the biggest obstacle to its lust for power and control.

Finally, while I expect the Demo MSM to parrot Demo propaganda about “gun homicides,” I expect better out of conservative media. But the Beltway echo-chamber groupthink inevitably works its way into the right side of the ledger.

To that end, the otherwise straight-thinking editors at The Washington Times led the day with “CDC reports gun homicides spiked,” and the story read more like it had been written by their counterpart scribes across town at The Washington Post. The Times article was replete with references to “gun homicides,” but no mention of “criminals” or “assailants.”

The ‘Party of Science’ Is in Fact Anti-Science

Democrats disingenuously attempt to use science to rubber-stamp their leftist political agenda.

Leftists love to proclaim that they are the ones on the side of “science.” Excuse us — Science™. They do so as they point the finger of condemnation at Republicans, accusing them of being “anti-science” and therefore representing an existential threat to not only science but to society itself.

If judging by the percentage of Democrat faculty members in America’s institutions of higher learning is the parameter used to determine which political party is most affiliated with scientists, one might have an argument. Yet whatever the political persuasion of the majority of American scientists, it is not a legitimate scientific metric for determining which party platform most stands on the science.

Nevertheless, the perception remains that Democrats are the “party of science,” and this is thanks in large part to both the mainstream media and academia. But a look at the party’s policies reveals not a party standing for science but rather a party standing in opposition to science.

Just one glaring example that demonstrates this reality is the Democrats’ stance on abortion. As Democrats have become ideologically committed to not only maintaining the legality of abortion but even declaring it a “human right,” the science on abortion has actually gone in the opposite direction. There is now no longer any question when it comes to the science as to whether or not a preborn baby is indeed a human being. Scientific reality supports and upholds the arguments of the pro-life position.

The question of when life begins has been answered — at conception. It is no longer merely a faith-based assertion but a scientifically certified reality.

However, when the question of when life begins is raised to the Democrats, the response is decidedly unscientific. Often the answer given is not an answer at all but an emotionally laden straw man — screams that Republicans are attempting to exert control over the bodies of women. Of course, what is missing in that asinine claim is any acknowledgement of or concern for the body of the preborn human.

We could go on to point out the other issue de jour: “transgenderism.” People are born boys or girls, with XY or XX chromosome pairings. There’s no such thing, scientifically, as a boy deciding he’s really a girl.

And then there’s masks for COVID. The science is at best ambiguous on whether masks are effective, but anyone who doesn’t wear one in certain circumstances is hectored (or worse), and many leftists have developed a devotion to masking that is far more religious than scientific.

Or take climate change. Even assuming the earth’s climate is changing does not say anything about the government policies best suited to address it. But conservatives are labeled “science deniers” if they dare question subsidies for electric vehicles, carbon tax credits, emissions regulations, solar power, and so on.

The truth is that Democrats have no scientific foundation upon which to rest their ideologically driven political positions. Indeed, their political party generally stands in opposition to the science.

Knowing that science is widely viewed as objective — and, when done properly, it is the closest that naturally biased humanity can get to objectivity — Democrats have sought to cultivate themselves as the one party committed to standing on science. The clear marketing message being sent is that the Democrat Party is therefore the more objectively based political party. But the great irony is that between the two major parties’ policies, it’s the Republicans who are more scientifically consistent. Democrats treat science like a wax nose, constantly twisting it to serve their political goals when more often than not it counters them.

The Biden Baby Formula Shortage

This essential food source’s scarcity is a terrifying prospect for parents of young children.

Joe Biden continues to downplay the crisis of inflation. Democrats in the House and Senate keep trying to push legislation that will flood the market with dollars, continuing to devalue those same dollars. Raving pro-abortion activists howl about the SCOTUS leaked opinion and attempt to bully the justices into changing their minds. All the while, the rest of us are suffering. Particularly dire to parents is the baby formula shortage.

The baby formula shortage became an issue for new parents back in November 2021, but this shortage is getting worse, not better. According to USA Today, “Nearly 40% of popular baby formula brands were sold out at retailers across the U.S. during the week starting April 24, according to an analysis by Datasembly, which assessed supplies at more than 11,000 stores.”

In mid-February, Abbott Nutrition — a major manufacturer of infant formula — recalled several of its formulas that were made in Sturgis, Michigan. The factory, according to the Food and Drug Administration, had failed to maintain sanitary standards. For its part, Abbott Nutrition claims that the baby formulas were nowhere near contaminants found in the facility. It has recalled the products just the same.

The shortages — plus inflation — are causing prices to soar on these much-needed products. Baby formula, an essential food source for babies with allergies or other medical needs, has risen several dollars per can. Parents who use formula for their children easily spend between $1,200-$1,500 per year. This price hike is overwhelming to families already struggling with other inflation-related financial gouges. Senator Tom Cotton recently brought to light the plight of these worried parents: “The formula shortage is a national crisis, hitting poor moms and kids the hardest. The FDA needs to immediately step up, be transparent, explain how it will get production restarted, and give parents a timeline. And the Biden Administration needs to take this seriously.”

There is not much chance of that, unfortunately. President Biden and his administration have been consistently downplaying inflation while simultaneously trying to spend as much as they can get away with. For example, Biden has just requested another $40 billion to aid the war effort in Ukraine. This financial fecklessness combined with the promotion of a sexually explicit leftist agenda in schools are issues that parents are paying attention to. They are already angry at the radical push of this administration.

Then last week, the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization draft opinion was leaked, and Democrats thought they finally found a rallying cry to help revive the dismal outlook for them in the November midterms. As leftists call for the blood of originalist Supreme Court justices and insist that it is their right to kill unborn children, conservatives fear that this baby formula shortage will be yet another diabolical weapon in the continual genocide that is abortion. Political pundit Erick Erickson asked, “How much longer before the left uses the baby formula shortage as a justification for abortion?”

Ultimately, though, abortion is a losing issue for the radicals. Parents are more concerned about the nutritional needs of their tiny babies and the devastating effects of inflation than they are about other women’s determination to commit abortion. Podcast host Allie Beth Stuckey put it very succinctly in a social media post: “REALITY CHECK: Women’s fear of being unable to get baby formula will affect the vote this fall far more than women’s fear of being unable to get an abortion.”

Let’s hope this is true. In the meantime, parents will continue to feel the wretchedness of not being able to readily find vital food for their precious infants and face the financial crush of product scarcity and inflation.

The NIH Doled out $30 Billion Last Year in Grants and But the Entity and Its Scientists Received an Estimated $350 million or More in Royalties from 2010 to 2020 — The Gateway Pundit

Not only does the NIH distribute billions in funding for research and development and other activities around the world, but the NIH and some of its employees also receive millions in royalties for being labeled as co-inventors.

Last year, the National Institutes of Health – Anthony Fauci’s employer – doled out $30 billion in government grants to roughly 56,000 recipients. That largess of taxpayer money buys a lot of favor and clout within the scientific, research, and healthcare industries.

However, in our breaking investigation, we found hundreds of millions of dollars in payments also flow the other way. These are royalty payments from third-party payers (think pharmaceutical companies) back to the NIH and individual NIH scientists.

We estimate that between fiscal years 2010 and 2020, more than $350 million in royalties were paid by third-parties to the agency and NIH scientists – who are credited as co-inventors.

Because those payments enrich the agency and its scientists, each and every royalty payment could be a potential conflict of interest and needs disclosure.

We knew way back in April of 2020 that Dr. Fauci and the Gates Foundation would make billions on a COVID vaccine.  Bobby Kennedy, Jr. was saying this at that time.  This was before he wrote his book on ‘The Real Dr. Fauci’.

Open The Books addresses the challenges they have had obtaining income and royalty-related information on government employees in the Federal Government.

It’s been a struggle to get any useful information out of the agency on its royalty payments. NIH is acting like royalty payments are a state secret. (They’re not, or shouldn’t be!)

Consider how NIH is using taxpayer money to try and keep taxpayers ignorant and in the dark:

1.      NIH defied the federal Freedom of Information Act law and refused to even acknowledge our open records request for the royalty payments. We filed our FOIA last September.

2.      NIH used expensive taxpayer-funded litigation to slow-walk royalty disclosures (releasing the oldest royalties first). Although the agency admits to holding 3,000 pages, it will take ten months to produce them (300 pages per month). With Judicial Watch as our lawyers, we sued NIH in federal court last October.

3.      NIH is heavily redacting key information on the royalty payments. For example, the agency erased 1. the payment amount, and, 2. who paid it!  This makes the court-mandated production virtually worthless, despite our use of the latest forensic auditing tools.

NIH is essentially telling you, the taxpayer, to pay up and shut up. They’ll run things. They have forgotten that they work on behalf of the American people.

According to OpenTheBooks.com (OTB below), the Pharma-controlled National Institutes of Health (NIH) hid royalty payments of around $350 million to former NIH head Francis Collins, fraudster Fauci, his NIAID deputy Clifford Lane — and others on the take from 2010 – 2020.

How many millions more remain to be revealed before and after this time frame?

Hundreds of scientists received dirty money for supporting Pharma profiteering and their own self-interest — at the expense of what public health is supposed to be all about.

Last December, Collins stepped down after heading the NIH for 12 years.

Along with disserving as the fake Biden’s chief medical advisor, Fauci heads the NIH’s National Institute for Allergies and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), a position he’s held since 1984.

Overseeing the agency’s multi-billion budget, he’s been profiting from royalties gotten from drug development for Pharma.

Instead of serving the public interest by combatting infectious diseases and allergies, he prioritizes cashing in big — what he’s done for decades.

He “transformed NIAID…into (an)  incubator” for Pharma’s drug development, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. explained, adding:

“(H)e creates (drugs)…sells (them) to (Pharma) for very, very beneficial prices…”

“(H)e (then) walks (them) through the FDA approval process, which means then Medicare and Medicaid…pay for” what benefits Pharma and himself. 

“He helps negotiate…beneficial deals with (Pharma), and then the money comes back to him and his staff through royalties.”

“(I)nstead of researching and trying to stop all these chronic diseases from happening to our children, he’s ignoring all of that and simply…printing money” for Pharma’s enrichment and himself. 

Throughout his NIAID tenure, he’s been indifferent toward public health.

Operating as a profiteering con artist, he’s worlds apart what public service should be all about.

The same goes for Collins, the CDC’s Wallensky and likeminded fraudsters.

Based on information revealed by OTB, payoffs to US public health officials and scientists amount to a conflict of interest.

More about them and their precise amounts need to be disclosed.

From September 2009 to September 2014, OTB “forced NIH to disclose over 22,100 royalty payments totaling nearly $134 million paid to the agency and nearly 1,700 NIH scientists.”

Disclosure of the above information followed OTB’s “federal lawsuit vs. NIH,” adding:

The agency revealed only 1,200 pages of documented payouts.

Another 1,800 “will cover the period 2015 – 2020.”

At the same time, “NIH documents are heavily redacted” so lots of important information remains concealed from public view.

At this time, amounts paid to Collins, Fauci and others were redacted.

The agency continues to keep as much of its dirty linen secret as possible, OTB saying:

HHS, NIH, NIAID, FDA, CDC and other US health-related agencies are destroyers of public health, not their protectors as falsely claimed.

The nation and its people would be far better off these Pharma-controlled agencies were shut down and no longer existed.

Americans use far more drugs than any other nations.

On average, they pay around double the amount compared to what it costs consumers in other developed nations.

They’ve been especially harmed since kill shots were rolled out in December 2019.

Since early 2020, Dr. Vernon Coleman sounded the alarm, saying:

Flu/covid jabs “are weapons of mass destruction.”

If fail to stop mass-jabbing, “we are doomed.”

The only pandemic that exists is among jabbed individuals.

Staying unjabbed is crucial to protect and preserve health.

“For longer than I like to think about it, I have been warning about the dangers of” flu/covid jabs, Coleman said in early 2021, adding:

A “year ago, I warned that (flu/covid was a) fake pandemic…that experimental (jabs) are dangerous and produce many potentially deadly side effects.”

The health of countless millions throughout the US/West and worldwide has been irreparably harmed.

In recent testimony, US military Dr. Teresa Long said the following:

She’s seen “many soldiers destroyed by” kill shots.

“Not a single member of my senior command has discussed my concerns with me.” 

“I have nothing to gain and everything to lose by talking about it.” 

“I’m okay with that because I am watching people get absolutely destroyed.”

She and other US military physicians were ordered to stay mum about what’s been going on since mass-jabbing began.

Military whistleblowers are being punished for revealing what’s crucial to know.

Within days after mass-jabbing US military personnel for flu/covid began, thousands of “health impact events” were reported.

How many more went unreported is unknown. 

Nor is there information on the seriousness of health issues experienced or numbers of US military personnel killed by jabs.

During the 1991 Gulf War, around 150,000 US troops were jabbed for anthrax.

Short-term it caused redness, swelling and fever that’s associated with all jabs.

Serious health issues weren’t discovered until later called Gulf War syndrome.

Experimental anthrax jabs caused severe autoimmune diseases and deaths among Gulf War veterans later on.

They included rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, neuritis risking later paralysis, uveitis risking blindness, neurological harm, congenital disabilities in offspring, cognitive impairment, and systemic lupus erythematosus, among other health issues.

The latter disease can harm joints, skin, brain, lungs, kidneys, and blood vessels.

From 1990 to 2001, over two million doses of anthrax toxins were administered to US military personnel.

According to Stars and Stripes, the VA denied over 80% of claims filed by vets for health issues related to the Gulf War and/or anthrax jabs.

Like earlier, US military personnel are once again being used and abused as unwitting lab rats. 

Many became ill earlier. Thousands died. History is again repeating.

One Gulf War vet’s lament was as follows, saying:

“Was the character of my valor less intense than those at Lexington?” 

“Was the pain of my wounds any less severe than those at Normandy?” 

“And was my loneliness any less sorrowful than those at Inchon?” 

“Then why am I forgotten amonst those remembered as ‘heros?’ ”

Compulsory mass-jabbing for flu/covid is medical barbarism and malpractice.

The practice flagrantly breaches the Nuremberg Code. Its 10 points include the following:

1. Voluntary consent on matters relating to human health.

2. Procedures yielding positive results that benefit individuals and society.

3. Procedures based on positive experimentation results.

4. Physical and mental suffering prohibited.

5. Whatever risks death or disability is forbidden.

6. Risks taken should never exceed sought benefits.

7. Proper preparation in suitable facilities should precede procedures followed.

8. Only scientifically qualified individuals should conduct them.

9. At any time during treatment, individuals may cancel it at their discretion.

10. Scientifically qualified individuals involved must terminate procedures if too high a risk of harm to human health exists.

Flu/covid mass-jabbing — especially when involuntary — breaches the letter and spirit of what medicine as it should be practiced is all about.

First and foremost, do no harm.
