Surefootedness — VCY America

The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hind’s feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places. (Habakkuk 3:19)

This confidence of the man of God is tantamount to a promise, for that which faith is persuaded of is the purpose of God. The prophet had to traverse the deep places of poverty and famine, but he went down hill without slipping, for the Lord gave him standing. By and by he was called to the high places of the hills of conflict; and he was no more afraid to go up than to go down.

See! The Lord lent him strength. Nay, Jehovah Himself was his strength. Think of that: the almighty God Himself becomes our strength!

Note that the Lord also gave him surefootedness. The hinds leap over rock and crag, never missing their footholds. Our Lord will give us grace to follow the most difficult paths of duty without a stumble. He can fit our foot for the crags so that we shall be at home where apart from God we should perish.

One of these days we shall be called to higher places still. Up yonder we shall climb, even to the mount of God, the high places where the shining ones are gathered. Oh, what feet are the feet of faith, by which, following the hind of the morning, we shall ascend into the hill of the Lord!

Moving from Bitterness to Forgiveness, Part 2 Pathway To Victory

Anger in and of itself is not a sin. Even God feels a righteous anger! But when we let unresolved anger fester into bitterness, that bitterness becomes a deadly poison. Today on Pathway to Victory, Dr. Robert Jeffress explains why forgiveness is essential to our physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

The Bible and its Story: Thrift and Charity

The Book of Proverbs opens its tenth chapter with what may be accepted as a summary, a sadly deep comment on all its previous appeals to youth. “A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.” The book then ceases its particular counsel to the young, and begins to present a series of maxims, wise sayings applicable to all life.

‎The first idea touched upon is of wealth and poverty; and the book to its very end recurs constantly to the consideration of the comfort of worldly wealth, the good prospect of attaining it through uprightness, and the proper use of it when won. It should be shared wisely with the needy. Thrift and charity! these are the watchwords of the teaching.

‎“The Lord will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked.

‎“He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich.”

‎“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”

True Worship, Part 3 – Listen to Grace to You with John MacArthur, May 13, 2022

There have probably been some Sunday mornings where you’re physically present at church but spiritually you’re not there at all . . . not ready to worship God the way He deserves and desires. So on days like that, what should you do . . . how can you put your focus back on Christ? And, is worship only something you’re supposed to do in a church setting?

Three Principles for Biblical Worship — Grace to You Blog

False and superficial religion fills this world. But we who love Christ dare not accommodate our worship to the styles and preferences of an unbelieving world. Instead, we must make it our business to look to Scripture alone to direct our church practices.

Pursuing Peace in Relationships — Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God

“And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” Colossians 3:14

Relationship help is one of the hottest topics searched on the Internet. Relationships can be messy. Love isn’t always easy. It takes courage to love well.

As always, the Bible has very practical help to offer. If you find yourself in a challenging relationship right now, start here. Take the five points right from the heart of God in Colossians 3:12-15. Ask for His help in putting them into practice and then watch the results. Whether at home, at work, or among friends, these five steps will take you to higher ground in the relationships you want to nurture.

1.    As you get dressed in the morning ask God to clothe your heart with compassion and kindness in the particular relationship you are focusing on. Pray for a gentle, humble attitude.

2.    Knowing God’s heart of forgiveness toward you, ask Him to help you forgive the grumblings against you. Ask for grace to not let them settle into your heart.

3.    Ask God’s Spirit to strengthen and help you respond in love that helps create unity and not add to hostility.

4.    Remember that you are called to be a peacemaker. Ask God for His peace in your heart and then let it spill over in this particular relationship. Don’t put yourself in harm’s way as you seek peace, and find a mediator if you need one.

5.    Remember to be thankful for the good things you see in the other person and to choose to place your focus there instead of on the negative.

Father God, I need Your Spirit to clothe me with a soft heart today. May I help bring Your presence into the circumstances of today by being dressed with the characteristics Your Holy Spirit can bring to my life. Stir within me a thankful heart and use my presence to help bring Your peace into my relationship. I ask this in the strong name of Jesus, Amen.

The Bible and its Story: The Rule of Wisdom

The eighth chapter of Proverbs consists of a celebrated and beautiful poem descriptive of Wisdom, the glorious tutelar spirit of the Book. Passages from this chapter have been quoted far and wide, through all the schools and colleges of the world; for the aim of all education is the following of this ancient precept, the imparting of Wisdom to youth.

‎“Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice?

‎“She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths.

‎“She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors.

‎“Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man.”

‎In another passage, Wisdom offers her rewards: “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

‎“Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness.

‎“My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.”

Heidelminicast: Heidelberg Catechism 84—How Is The Kingdom Of Heaven Opened And Shut By Church Discipline? — The Heidelblog

The Heidelberg Catechism is one of the most beloved and well used catechisms to emerge from the sixteenth and seventeenth century Reformation. Published in its final form in 1563, the catechism has been used by millions of Christians to teach the faith to children and adults alike. Arranged in 52 Lord’s Days (Sundays) the catechism takes the Christian through the basics of the Christian faith (our creation, fall, redemption, new life in Christ, and glorification). It explains the Apostles’ Creed, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord’s Prayer. It is a treasure. To encourage listeners and readers, we expect to post one question and answer a day on the HB. If you are subscribed to the Heidelcast or the Heidelblog (see below) you will receive these episodes automatically.

Joyfully Secure | Today in the Word Devotional

Fear and anxiety are rampant in our world. It is easy to understand why. The pandemic reminded us of the fragile nature of our lives, jobs, and the economy. While there are days when life feels precarious, today’s psalm describes how God’s people remained secure and joyful in a world just as uncertain as our own. If you stand on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem today and look around, you will notice that the city is surrounded by hills. The Psalmist sees this geographical feature and draws a spiritual lesson, “As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people” (125:2). Those who trust in the Lord have placed their trust in a secure source. As believers today, sometimes we need to be reminded that God cares about us and desires our good. In John 17, Jesus prayed for His disciples, “Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name” (v. 11). In a world riddled by fear, we can be confident in our relationship with God. We can pray with expectation for peace (Ps. 125:5). Because of their idolatry and sin, Israel had been exiled to Babylon. This must have seemed like the end to many who were forcefully relocated thousands of miles from their homeland. But God was not through with Israel. After 70 long years, Cyrus issued a decree to allow the people of Israel to return home. Psalm 126 expresses the wonder and joy experienced at this answer to prayer, “Our mouths were filled with laughter, and our tongues with songs of joy” (v. 2). Joy should be a mark of God’s people. >> Even when things look uncertain in our lives, we should remember that our deepest needs have already been met on the cross. Laughter and joy are hallmarks of those who have experienced God’s grace. Spend a few minutes today thanking God for all He has done for you and let Him fill you with joy.

Israel needs to get ready for Russia-style sanctions
Support like that which Israel received from the Biden administration during last year’s war in Gaza cannot be taken for granted anymore. it is doubtful that anyone in Israel would call Santos a true and dear friend. He published an op-ed on Sunday in Spain’s El Pais newspaper calling on the world to apply its aggressive response to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to Israel. Santos is not alone in seeking to impose on Israel the same international sanctions and aggressive diplomatic measures being used against Russia.

Mid-Day Snapshot · May 13, 2022

 “From The Patriot Post (patriotpost.us)”

“The principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding, is but swindling futurity on a large scale.” —Thomas Jefferson (1816)

Bad Timing for Biden’s Binge

He wants to open the “infrastructure” spending floodgates, but he seems oblivious to the consequences.

Douglas Andrews

It’s just Joe Biden’s luck.

The one legislative achievement he can point to — his $1.2 trillion “infrastructure” obscenity — will do a lot more harm than good if he dares to move forward with its prescribed spending splurge. And he’ll dare. Just watch him.

Granted, there’s never a good time for government profligacy, but there are certainly bad times. And now is one such time. Bidenflation is at a staggering 8.3%, and thanks to it, working Americans got the equivalent of a 2.6% pay cut last month. He did that. To you. Joe did.

He did it with last year’s $1.9 trillion in “COVID” relief spending, and he did it with this year’s $1.5 trillion omnibus spending bill. And he did it with various stopgap spending bills along the way. And now he’s fixing to add more fuel to this inflationary inferno with an additional $1.2 trillion in “infrastructure” spending.

Inflation is the cruelest of taxes because it hits everyone — which means it hits hardest those who can least afford it. But that’s what we get when we keep printing and spending more money, which puts more dollars into a supply-strapped economy to chase fewer and fewer goods.

“It’s not because of spending,” protested Snake Oil Joe. “We brought down the deficit.” (Our Lewis Morris has noted](https://patriotpost.us/articles/88189-bidens-big-deficit-lie-hits-your-wallet-2022-05-09) why this claim is a lie.) Biden can crow about the falling deficit all he wants, but it’s falling because the pandemic-related spending splurge is largely over. And because tax revenue is booming thanks to Donald Trump’s much-maligned tax reform package. You know, that Ultra-MAGA stuff.

But back to infrastructure: Biden signed that bill last November, right? Could it be that we’re only getting around to spending it now? Yes, it could. And could the resulting infrastructure activity also further bollix up our nation’s supply lines? You betcha. Here’s New Hampshire Republican Governor Chris Sununu:

This infrastructure money? Not a penny has been spent yet. Not a penny has been spent — it’s all been authorized, but there’s no dollars actually out the door. Wait until that starts happening. And then we’re gonna have issues with steel, with oil even further, because you need oil to make asphalt, right? With raw materials, cement and concrete. The cost of cement has gone up three or four times. I watch this stuff every day. … We’re still going to feel these inflationary pressures, especially around gas and diesel, for a long time. Truckers, just getting the product … to your Walmart in New Hampshire or wherever it might be, that cost that trucker another 1,500 bucks, just in the price increase that happened last week. Two weeks later, he’s spending 1,500 bucks more, just to transport that product. That’s going to bring the supply chain to a halt.

New moms, among others, would assert that our supply chain is already at a halt. Never in our nightmares could we have imagined it, but we’re in the midst of a baby formula shortage. American families will be relieved to know, though, that we have just enough formula to load onto pallets and ship down to Mexico.

And what happens when, as National Review’s Jim Geraghty notes, 50 states and countless localities kick off all these projects simultaneously? What happens when everyone needs concrete, steel, asphalt, and other essentials all at once? And just how expensive do those products become with that additional inflationary pressure?

So hold off on all this spending, Joe. Remember: America comes second. You’ve got a $40 billion war to fund in Ukraine, for Pete’s sake.

The Coming COVID Midterm Fraud

One million deaths, billions of dollars have been misspent, and Democrats are warning of another virus wave.

Brian Mark Weber

As summer nears, tens of millions of Americans are getting beyond COVID and getting back to their normal routines. They’re heading to the beach or to a campsite, or maybe to a nearby national park. Or maybe they’re just heading downtown to a favorite restaurant, or gathering with friends for a cookout. Regardless, they’re no longer worrying about masking up or showing proof of vaccination — at least for now.

But it might not be time to burn those face diapers or vax cards just yet. Why? Because Democrats are warning of another COVID wave — a wave they expect to hit us, conveniently, just in time for the midterms. We did, after all, just reach one million American COVID deaths.

When we passed 200,000 deaths in October 2020, Joe Biden said during a presidential debate, “Anyone who … is responsible for that many deaths should not remain as president of the United States of America.” What does he have to say now that we’ve passed one million?

(Insert caveat here for the numbers — many more Americans died with COVID than because of COVID.)

The Democrats face a twofold problem: On the one hand, the Biden administration is already requesting more relief funds. On the other, Democrats will be making demands for mail-in voting. Our country cannot afford either one of these approaches. One will drive us even deeper into debt and a likely recession, and the other will allow Democrats to hold off the coming red wave — or at least soften the blow — of a Republican-administered shellacking in November. Both are designed to help the Democrats hold onto power, and both will result in less freedom, less trust in our electoral system, and less faith in our economic system.

As for the additional funding Biden wants, how quickly he seems to have forgotten the massive fraud that plagued our nation’s pandemic relief programs during the past two years.

For example, the Paycheck Protection Program was touted as a means of making sure businesses weathered the storm of COVID shutdowns. According to Fox Business, fraud resulted in billions of dollars in lost taxpayer funds.

How many billions? NBC News reports that 10% of the PPP funds, around $80 billion, was pilfered. And nearly half, up to $400 billion, was stolen from COVID unemployment funds by international fraudsters who used the money to buy homes and cars. If it weren’t so sad, it’d be comical. No wonder no one trusts the government.

Making matters worse, the Biden administration didn’t use COVID funds exclusively to fight the virus — far from it. As a letter penned by House Republicans claims, “The $2 trillion in funding in the Biden Administration’s so-called COVID ‘rescue’ bill allocated less than 9 percent to combatting the virus, with the remaining 91 percent spending hundreds of billions of dollars to bail out state governments, and build bike trails, new high school weight rooms, apartment buildings, and golf courses.” Caught red-handed, Team Biden has refused to comply with GOP requests for info about how the funds were allocated. So much for transparency.

Fraud and deception won’t stop these Democrats from pushing for more “aid,” though. And the best way to get the support they need is to instill fear.

This time, they’re warning Americans that a massive spending splurge for new vaccines is the only way we can stop the next COVID surge. That’s right: If the government doesn’t spend billions more that it doesn’t have, COVID deaths this fall and winter will make last year’s look like the common cold.

As The Wall Street Journal reports, “The cases would amount to a million a day over the course of three to four months, according to a senior administration official, who shared the estimate as part of a White House push to secure $22.5 billion in new funding to combat the pandemic.”

Democrats, of course, are merely reverting to what worked last time, says historian Victor Davis Hanson, and what worked then was using fear to attract voters and “desperately looking for some magic escape route” to avoid facing real issues like the border and inflation.

Time’s running out for them to salvage something from the midterms, thus the COVID Hail Mary. “Democrats’ push to make permanent the voting rules put in place during the pandemic is a near last-ditch effort to keep their 2024 hopes alive,” opines columnist Kristin Tate. “The combination of reversion to pre-pandemic voting measures and shifting demographics means that without a thumb on the scale in the next elections, they lose.”

Democrats are hoping voters will be too focused on those summertime activities to notice the phony fearmongering. But maybe, just maybe, Americans won’t get fooled again.

Executive News Summary

Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler

Top of the Fold

  • Biden shipping pallets of baby formula … to the border: One of the more urgent crises affecting Americans across the country has been the sudden lack of baby formula in stores. Thanks, President Brandon. As sources for procuring baby formula have dried up, some Americans, especially mothers with infants, have been panicking. To make matters worse, the Biden administration is focused on helping migrants who broke our laws by illegally crossing our southern border. “Biden is sending pallets of baby formula to the border,” observed Republican Representative Kat Cammack. “Meanwhile, store shelves across America are empty and moms are being told they don’t know when more is coming in. Welcome to Biden’s America where American moms and dads are last.” It is, she concluded, “another example of an America last agenda.”
  • The groomers at Disney and Fisher-Price: Actress Zara Phythian, who was most recently featured in the Disney-produced Marvel film “Dr. Strange,” and her husband, Vitor Marke, were found guilty on all counts in a British court of having sex with a 13-year-old girl. No wonder execs at Disney are panicked about bills that impose on their ability to groom children. Speaking of grooming children, Fisher-Price recently released a toy series for children that is a collection of “Little People” dolls based on the gender-bending TV show “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” Make no mistake: The Rainbow Mafia is grooming kids.
  • J6 subpoenas: Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s politically motivated January 6 Committee took yet another highly provocative and nearly unprecedented step on Thursday, issuing subpoenas to a group of sitting Republican representatives — House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (CA), Jim Jordan (OH), Mo Brooks (AL), Andy Biggs (AZ), and Scott Perry (PA). The committee claims the Republicans “have information relevant to our investigation.” Due to the purely partisan nature of the J6 Committee, Republicans have good reason for refusing to cooperate. Pelosi broke House protocols when she refused to allow McCarthy to pick Republican members (like Jordan) to sit on the committee, and McCarthy argues that it’s not “a legitimate investigation” but rather is “acting like the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee one day and the DOJ the next.” Perry further blasted the “illegitimate body” for having “leaked their latest charade to the media ahead of contacting targeted Members.” This, he said, “is proof positive once again that this political witch hunt is about fabricating headlines and distracting the Americans from their abysmal record of running America into the ground.”

The Generation That Hates George Washington

An op-ed in a paper named for the father of our nation calls for renaming the university named for him.

Nate Jackson

George Washington was not only the general who led colonial forces to victory in the American Revolution. He was not only the father of our country and our nation’s first president. George Washington serves to this day as the model for presidential character. No wonder modern leftists hate him.

The Washington Post — a paper named for the town named for George Washington, mind you — ran an op-ed from a senior at George Washington University demanding a name change for the school. “Maybe rename the paper before running this?” National Review’s Dan McLaughlin teased. Or maybe if this snowflake student is so triggered, he could simply transfer to one of the hundreds of schools across the nation named for someone or something else.

More on that op-ed in a minute. First, let’s flashback to 2017 when a guy named Donald Trump was widely mocked by the Leftmedia for predicting this very thing:

So this week it’s Robert E. Lee. I noticed that Stonewall Jackson’s coming down. I wonder, is it George Washington next week? And is it Thomas Jefferson the week after? You know, you really do have to ask yourself, where does it stop?

At the time, The Washington Post ran a headline with the lampooning title, “Historians: No, Mr. President, Washington and Jefferson are not the same as Confederate generals.”

Yet Trump was right. “Progressives” never stop. And it didn’t take until a college kid’s op-ed in 2022 for Trump to be proven right. Statues of Washington and Jefferson were coming down or being vandalized two years ago as part of the Black Lives Matter purge of American history.

Which brings us back to this GWU student’s ignorant diatribe.

“Racism has always been a problem at GW,” he asserts, followed by some historical markers and current statistics. The school’s manifold shortcomings, in his view, include the fact that “no African languages are taught at the university.” His thesis is, “These problems are rooted in systemic racism, institutional inequality and white supremacy.”

To accomplish real reform, he insists that Washington must go, as well as buildings named for James Madison and Winston Churchill, and even the school’s Mount Vernon Campus, “named for George Washington’s former slave plantation.” Moreover, the school must enroll more black students and replace its outgoing president with one who’s black.

Well, it’s obvious that he passed his exam in Critical Race Theory 101.

The real story here is that this is a deep, wide, and serious problem. American academia is chock-full of this anti-American garbage, and our nation’s future leaders are being indoctrinated with it. We don’t “Hail Thee George Washington” (the school’s motto) because he owned slaves. We do so because of the truths in our first paragraph. Yet far too few students in any school at any grade level today could say anything historically meaningful about Washington or any of the other Founders, much less express the profundity of their contributions to American and human history.

Virtually no prominent people on the Left — not in politics, the media, or any institution — will stand up and rebuke this racial grievance-mongering, either. Quite the opposite; they teach and foment it.

The supreme irony in all of this is that it was the bold and heroic efforts of Washington and his fellow Founders that secured for us the free country we still (to some degree, anyway) enjoy today, including the freedom of speech and press that allow this drivel to be seen by anyone.

“No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain these blessings than United America,” Washington wrote in 1788. “Wondrously strange, then, and much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to neglect the means and to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass.”

It is alarming that if students like the miseducated nincompoop at Washington’s namesake university are any indication, we have already departed “the road which Providence has pointed us to so plainly.” “Much to be regretted,” indeed. And much to be corrected.

‘No Argument’? Levine’s False Gender-Affirming Claims

This “first female admiral” is mistaking lifestyle bias for grounded science.

Emmy Griffin

Our Douglas Andrews wrote earlier this week about the dangers of the leftist manipulation of language as a form of power that separates the wheat from the chaff. One of the biggest ways that this linguistic gymnastics has been employed throughout the pandemic is the claim of “misinformation” and “disinformation.” To leftists, these once important words with specific implications for national security have come to mean just about nothing because they merely mean anything they don’t like and wish to silence.

Well, last month, Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel (Richard) Levine — the first “woman” to achieve the U.S. Public Health Services Commissioned Corps’ (USPHS) honorary title of four-star admiral — had a new strategy for silencing inconvenient truths that he happens not to like. In an interview with NPR, he said, “There is no argument among medical professionals — pediatricians, pediatric endocrinologists, adolescent medicine physicians, adolescent psychiatrists, psychologists, etc. — about the value and the importance of gender-affirming care.” This is, as the Washington Examiner’s editorial board explains, “a fallacy called ‘proof by assertion’ — as if the forceful repetition of a controversial statement can make it true.”

Levine, by insisting on the fantasy that all physicians et al. agree that gender-affirming care is the right way to proceed with people struggling with identity, ignores the thousands of physicians who have been fighting this harmful practice from the get-go. Doctors such as Florida Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo, who tore apart the Department of Health and Human Services’s (HHS) “guidance” on gender-affirming care for children just last month; Idaho endocrinologist Dr. William Malone and his colleagues, who have been fighting against the unscientific biases of HHS and the Endocrine Society (ES), both of which are advocating puberty blockers; and child psychiatrist Dr. Miriam Grossman, who has been on the front lines navigating this social contagion that is seriously harming the children under its sway.

Dr. Grossman issued a statement of her own in response to Levine’s delusional stance, saying: “There is a complete lack of high-quality, long-term data that these medical interventions actually help, and it is very disturbing to me as a fellow physician that Dr. Levine is arrogantly announcing that all pediatricians, all physicians and therapists agree with her position.”

These are the voices of doctors just in the United States. In Europe, physicians in several countries are shying away from gender-affirming care. In Dr. Ladapo’s point-by-point rebuttal of the HHS gender dysphoria guidelines, he points out: “A small study on 44 patients in the United Kingdom failed to show any psychological benefit to puberty blockers on children aged 12 to 15. … In May of 2021, Sweden’s Karolinska Institute suspended the use of puberty blockers for those under the age of 18 due to the potentially irreversible consequences such as cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis, infertility, increased cancer risk, and thrombosis. … A recent Finnish study … reported on the effect of initiating cross-sex hormone therapy on functioning, progression of developmental tasks of adolescence, and psychiatric symptoms. This study found that during cross-sex hormone therapy, problems in these areas did not decrease.”

Levine, of course, has all the reason in the world to stifle new studies showing just how dangerous gender-affirming care is in general, but especially to children. He is, after all, “transgender,” and justifying his lifestyle choices takes precedence over the lives harmed or the truth that men are men and women are women — at least that’s what his words and actions demonstrate.

As a woman, it is truly insulting for these men to pretend to even understand what being a woman is. By their own woke logic, transgenderism could be considered a form of cultural appropriation, though it can’t even be considered quite that because men have no concept of what it is to be a women, just as no woman has any inkling of what it’s like to be a man. So they build a fantasy on what they think being a man or a woman is really like. This is amply demonstrated by those who dress in drag. Their stage character is usually a hyper-sexualized facsimile of a women. This is not a surprise, though. As conservative podcaster Matt Walsh has famously pointed out, they can’t even define what a woman is.

Political analyst Kylee Zemple sums up Levine’s incompetence perfectly: “The bottom line is that anyone who claims to be a champion of medicine or science but is quick to shut down dissenting theories and flag new evidence as ‘disinformation’ is no scientist at all.” Levine is delusional, that much is evident. His blatant lies on this subject are laying the groundwork for much suffering. Thankfully, there are plenty of ethical medical professionals out there willing to put their jobs and reputations on the line to speak out against gender-affirming care for children. Enough of us are listening that censorship will not be as effective as Levine and Biden’s Ministry of Truth hope.

The Democrats’ ‘Ultra-MAGA’ Agenda

Desperate to find a winning message for the midterms, Democrats have hitched themselves to a real doozy.

Douglas Andrews

We could see it coming a mile away, but even our most cynical self was struck by the amateurish idiocy of the effort.

We knew the Democrats, desperate to avoid getting their clocks cleaned in this year’s midterms, would pull out all the stops. We knew they’d somehow resort to fearmongering the American people between now and November 8. And we figured they’d do everything they could to make it about their favorite bogeyman, Donald Trump.

But still. “The Ultra-MAGA Agenda”? Really?

So sorry are the Democrats’ prospects this fall that they’ve apparently turned their campaign’s messaging strategy over to 79-year-old Scranton Joe “Big Guy” Biden. How else to explain the administration’s seizure of “MAGA” as the cornerstone of their efforts? And sure enough, we saw it being rolled out just last week: “This MAGA crowd,” he rambled, “is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed … in recent American history.”

Sensing he was onto something big, really big, Biden this week coined the phrase “Ultra-MAGA,” which the happiest person in Washington, outgoing Press Secretary Jen Psaki, says is her boss’s very own creation. “I think what has struck him is how extreme some of the policies and proposals are,” Psaki fumbled along, “that a certain wing of the Republican Party, that is taking up too much of the Republican Party, are for.”

All this makes perfect sense, coming from the guy who gave us such linguistic gems as “Jim Crow on steroids” and “Jim Eagle.”

This time, though, the wordplay is weapons-grade. Note the clever use of the word “ultra,” which for Democrats has long symbolized something sinister. Think: ultra-conservative. And anytime a leftist puts the word “ultra” in front of something conservative, it’s meant to scare folks, not to inform them.

But a funny thing happened on the way to the shellacking: The Republicans decided to play along. As columnist Kerry Picket writes:

Those whom President Biden branded derisively “Ultra-MAGA” on Tuesday were quick to embrace it and warn Democrats that waging war on the Trump agenda was tantamount to waging war on the American dream. “I’m proud to be an Ultra-MAGA,” said Rep. Matt Gaetz, Florida Republican. “The president’s remarks signify a true shift. He’s moving away from an indictment of President Trump specifically to now trying to indict an entire political movement that they fear.”

Or, as our Mark Alexander observes, “So Biden uses ‘Ultra-MAGA’ as a pejorative? Since when is being ultra-committed to making America great again a bad thing?”

Then there’s former Trump senior adviser Stephen Miller, who’s been tabbed by Democrats as one of the MAGA bad guys. What does he have to say for himself and this newfound focus on MAGA? “Ultra-MAGA means always putting America First,” he said. “It is the heart of the mainstream of public opinion across all groups. It means voters over special interests. Strong borders over bloodthirsty cartels. American workers over guest workers. Domestic production over foreign production. National security over needless war.”

In short, the Republicans’ message on MAGA seems to be: Go ahead. Make our midterms.

The Bottom Line

“The truth is, President Biden won the nomination because he promised not to be Bernie Sanders. Who has he tried to emulate? Bernie Sanders. After 14 months, we know that President Biden believes in bigger government, higher taxes, more spending, more debt, more regulation, a weaker military, open borders, taxpayer-funded abortion-on-demand, and turning cops into social workers. His energy policy — here’s his energy policy: wind, solar, and wishful thinking. He thinks he can run the greatest economy, the most powerful economy in all of human history, without fossil fuels. And that’s one of the main reasons why the prices at the pump are so high. And the American people see this. They see that after 14 months, nothing is built, nothing is back, and nothing is better — and that’s why when you poll it, the American people say, ‘Well, the country is headed in the wrong direction.’ And the president, he has no self-awareness, or at least the people around him won’t allow him to have self-awareness about the real problem.” —Senator John Kennedy

“Remember those long lines you’d see on the television? People lining up in all kinds of vehicles just to get a box of food in their trunk. How quickly we forget!People were hurting. And what did the MAGA crowd want to do? Forget it. Forget it. God, this is the United States of America. The idea that people would have to wait in line an hour, an hour and a half to get a box of food in their trunk. It’s just unbelievable.” —Joe Biden

The first year of my presidency, the first year, I reduced the deficit, literally reduced the deficit by $350 billion. First year. A Summary of Thursday’s MSM Fake News on Russia’s SMO in Ukraine — The Stephen Lendman Blog

MSM presstitution long ago substituted for  journalism as it should be.

On all things Russia and Ukraine, there’s no ambiguity about who’s winning and losing, none about how things will turn out ahead.

According to independent analyst Ljubisa Malenica:

“Russian military formations have retained their offensive capabilities and are currently showing initiative in the Donbass area.”

Their “advance is slow but constant.”

In contrast, “no large-scale Ukrainian offensive has been observed for the entire duration of the conflict.”

Russian forces gained control over “one quarter of Ukraine.”

No defeat of their forces by Kiev occurred since Russia’s SMO began on Feb. 24.

Claims otherwise by US/Western regimes and their MSM press agents are fake news.

Up against vastly superior Russian military strength, “Ukrainian forces do not have the ability to organize a major military operation that would critically jeopardize the results of Russian advances so far.”

Its forces maintain indisputable ground, aerial and naval superiority over greatly degraded Ukrainian troops.

Once Russia liberates Donbass entirely from the scourge of Nazified occupation, the defeat of Ukrainian forces will largely have achieved the demilitarization of Kiev.

Yet according to NYT fake news, Russian forces are “losing ground (sic).”

Citing unnamed Ukrainian and Western sources, Russia faces its “biggest setback (sic) since its (nonexistent) retreat from Kiev (sic).

The above rubbish is typical Times misreporting.

On virtually all major issues, turning truth on its head is its longstanding specialty.

And this Times fake news:

“More than 1,000 bodies of executed civilians (were) recovered in areas north of Kiev that were (controlled earlier) by Russian forces.”

No evidence of civilian executions by Russian forces exists — what Nazified Ukrainian forces are guilty of.

What the Times and other MSM called war crimes in Ukraine were committed by Nazified thugs.

So-called “skill and bravery of Ukrainian soldiers” are largely nonexistent, notably among conscripts.

Hundreds continue to lay down their arms and surrender daily.

No Russian advances were “thwarted” by Ukrainian troops as the Times falsely claimed.

Nor did US/Western sanctions cripple Russia’s economy, far from it. They’ve largely shot blanks.

And this Times fake news:

Citing a Biden regime official with no credibility, “Russian detention camps are interrogating and torturing (sic)” Ukrainian POWs.

On issues related to detentions and torture, the Times and other MSM are mum about hegemon USA’s global gulag.

No evidence links Russia to these heinous practices.

No Ukrainian civilians were “forced…out of their homes and into camps in Russian-controlled territory,” as the Times falsely reported.

No “beatings, torture and sexual violence” by its forces — what are longstanding US/NATO/Ukrainian Nazi specialties.

What the Times called Ukrainian “soldiers (inside) the Mariupol steel plant are Nazified thugs — murderers, torturers, rapists.

And this Times Russophobic opinion piece, saying:

“The West needs a strategy that guarantees Russia will end up regretting its actions (sic).”

US/Western regimes “must make sure (that) Russia (is) in a worse position than before” its SMO began.

What the Times called “horrific abuse(s) of human rights” were committed by Ukrainian forces, not Russian ones.

The goes for “atrocities” in Ukraine — a specialty of its Nazified thugs, not how Russia operates.

Calling for Moscow to be “completely isolated from access to Western economies” ignored reality.

On the one hand, Russia is largely self-sufficient.

The West greatly needs Russian energy, uranium and other commodities.

Russia needs little, if anything, from the West.

And this WaPo rubbish:

Russia “destroyed…houses, apartment buildings” and other civilian targets in Ukraine (sic).”

“Mariupol has been largely cut off from the world (sic).”

What WaPo called Russian “horrors” were committed by Ukrainian forces, mainly Nazified thugs.

WaPo and other MSM go out of their way to invent fake news reports about Russia’s SMO.

Truth and full disclosure is entirely absent in their Russophobic propaganda.

Separately, WaPo congratulated US/Western regimes for waging sanctions war on Russia.

At the same time, it grudgingly admitted that they’re biting US/Western economies and consumers — notably by soaring inflation, shortages of essential goods, and growing economic weakness.

And this WaPo rubbish:

“The world will eventually celebrate a final Ukrainian victory” over Russia (sic).

No push back of its forces occurred.

Who’ll pay for rebuilding Ukraine when Russia declares mission accomplished?

US/European taxpayers no doubt — at the expense of their vital homeland needs that continue to go begging.

And this WSJ rubbish:

Citing nonexistent video evidence, the Journal falsely accused Russian forces of “fir(ing) on and kidnap(ping) fleeing (Ukrainian) civilians (sic).”

“Moscow sustained heavy losses, failing to conquer (new areas because of) battlefield setbacks (sic).”

Claiming that “Putin (intends) to seize all or most of Ukraine (sic)” is more Journal rubbish.

A so-called Ukrainian general was cited, falsely claiming that Russia suffered heavy losses and was reluctant to fly missions (sic).”

Fabricated reports about “Ukrainian forces hold(ing) the line in Donbass” reflect more Journal rubbish.

Daily MSM fake news continues with no end of it in prospect.

When Russia finally declares mission accomplished in Ukraine, MSM most likely will change the subject to ignore reality on the ground.

At a time of growing economic weakness, food insecurity for millions, third-worldization of the US, soaring inflation, and deflating what one market analyst calls “the Everything Bubble,” the vast majority in Congress wants virtually unlimited billions thrown at Nazi-infested Ukraine to wage forever US proxy war on Russia.

When profiles in courage are urgently needed to stop the madness, few in Washington ever rise to the challenge.

On throwing another $40 billion at Ukraine — at the expense of vital homeland needs gone begging — one partial profile in courage alone stood out in the congressional upper house.

On Thursday, Senator Rand Paul alone objected to voting unanimously for the latest gargantuan handout to Ukrainian Nazis, saying:

“No matter how sympathetic the cause, my oath of office is to the national security of the United States of America.”

“We cannot save Ukraine by dooming the US economy.”

“Congress should evaluate the costs of continuing down this path.”

“The biggest threat to the US today is debt, and inflation, and destruction of the dollar.”

“Americans are feeling the pain, and Congress seems intent on only adding to that pain by shoving more money out the door as fast as they can.”

“We should not forget that the Soviet Union collapsed in large part not because it was defeated militarily, but because it ran out of money.”

“In an attempt to save Ukraine, will we doom the US to such a future?”

Paul’s remarks came a day after House members passed legislation to provide Nazi-infested Ukraine with $40 billion more for weapons, munitions and related military equipment — to continue perpetual US proxy war on Russia.

What greatly risks crossing a rubicon of no return to direct East/West confrontation — potentially with nukes — is ignored in Washington.

Paul didn’t prevent Senate passage of latest proposed Biden regime handout to Ukrainian Nazis.

He only delayed it by demanding the appointment of a special inspector general to monitor how billions thrown at Ukraine are spent, saying:

“You shouldn’t shove all $40 billion out the door without any oversight.”

“And having a special inspector general, we did it in Afghanistan—it didn’t stop all the waste.”

“It at least makes thieves think twice about stealing the money.”

Apparently, 99 other senators disagree — undemocratic Dems and Republicans alike.

If what Paul demands is added to the legislation in question, House members would have to vote again on the revised measure — to be followed by a Senate vote.

It’s unclear precisely how much the US has thrown at Ukraine since the 2014 Obama/Biden Maidan coup in Kiev — replacing democratic rule in Ukraine with Nazi-infested tyranny.

According to Paul, it’s $60 billion so far — a figure virtually certain to increase by many billions more as long as majority congressional war-mongers support forever war on Russia.

In response to Paul’s action on Thursday, MSM Russophobes hyperventilated as expected.

The NYT quoted undemocratic Dem Senate majority leader Schumer — an unindicted war criminal multiple times over — roaring:

“If every member held every bill in exchange for every last little demand, it would mean total and permanent paralysis for this chamber.”

What a wonderful idea, he left unexplained.

Days earlier, interventionist Blinken and war secretary Austin called for “provid(ing) uninterrupted critical military support to our (Nazified) Ukrainian partners.”

The NYT expressed wholehearted agreement.

So did WaPo, saying:

“Sen. Rand Paul defied leaders of both parties Thursday and single-handedly delayed until next week Senate approval of an additional $40 billion to help (Nazified) Ukraine and its allies (sic)” wage US proxy war on Russia.

And this from the WSJ, headlining:

“Rand Paul Blocks Quick Passage of Ukraine Aid Bill”

Undemocratic Dem Foreign Relations Committee chairman Menendez’s displeasure was quoted, saying:

“I thought this was going to be (rammed through) like greased lightning.”

GOP minority leader McConnell called for fast-tracking the handout measure to help Ukrainian Nazis “win the war” they already lost to vastly superior Russian military strength.

And this from AP (fake) News:

“Sen. Rand Paul defied leaders of both parties Thursday and single-handedly delayed until next week Senate approval of an additional $40 billion to help Ukraine and its allies withstand Russia’s three-month old invasion (sic),” adding:

“Paul’s objection was an audacious departure (sic) from an overwhelming sentiment in Congress that quickly helping Ukraine was urgent (sic), both for that nation’s prospects of withstanding Vladimir Putin’s brutal attack (sic) and for discouraging the Russian president from escalating or widening the war (sic).”

There’s no doubt about overwhelming adoption of billions more for Ukrainian Nazis to wage forever US proxy war on Russia.

Approval will just take a little longer than expected.

The illegitimate Biden regime and overwhelming majority in Congress support what heightens the risk for global war.

What’s going on is further evidence of US decadence, depravity and derangement.

Perpetuating US proxy war on Russia with expendable Ukrainian foot soldiers risks fiddling while planet earth burns.

Mad dog US leadership may destroy planet earth and humanity by risking use of WMDs against Russia with regime change in mind.

That’s where things appear to be heading.

The more weapons et al thrown at Nazified Ukraine, the more likely it is that armageddon may follow.
