Democracy was never on the ballot. Everyone who participated in the democratic process on Tuesday knows it.

Record Numbers Of Voters Show Up To End Democracy — Babylon Bee

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Fears are growing throughout the nation’s capital as record numbers of voters are turning out to polling stations across the country in an effort to end democracy as we know it. Leaders of both parties have been conducting closed-door meetings to determine what should be done.

“In a nation built on democracy, we simply cannot afford to have this many people making their voices heard in a democratic fashion,” said one high-ranking member of Congress under the condition of anonymity. “If we let everyone in the country legally vote to choose the nation’s leadership, democracy itself may be lost forever. Democracy!”

In order to calm the intense waves of voter turnout, plans were being hatched and put into motion from coast to coast. While vote tabulating machines in Maricopa County, Arizona were being commanded to malfunction and voters in Michigan were being informed that they had already voted, other potential schemes were rumored to involve blaring Nickelback at polling locations and even unleashing hatchet-wielding badgers in major urban centers.

“We’ll do anything to make sure people stop exercising their right to vote,” another Congressional staffer said. “Just think — if record numbers of people were to actually vote, our entire democratic process would collapse in on itself. Things might actually change, and we can’t have that!”

At publishing time, calls had already been made to Dr. Anthony Fauci and the NIH to fast-track the release of their newest deadly virus with the hope that a new global pandemic might save democracy as we know it.

The Cartoon Network Is No Longer Safe for Kids — Daily Declaration

Parents, beware: The Cartoon Network is spewing woke unscientific propaganda at your unwitting children.

I’m old enough to remember when watching cartoons on a Saturday morning was just a fun part of being a kid.

These days, it’s a dangerous pastime where kids are actively groomed by so-called entertainment companies.

Away with Biology

The Cartoon Network, owned by Warner Brothers, now presents messages like this as a matter of routine:

Cartoon Network

Our children are being taught, when watching cartoons while eating their Weetbix, that:

“We can’t tell someone’s gender just by looking at them, and shouldn’t assume we know.

Well, that’s ridiculous.

“There are many gender identities beyond ‘girl’ or ‘boy’. Some people don’t identify as any gender!”

And that’s a lie.

Now I’m sure propaganda like this couldn’t have anythingto do with the explosion in kids “identifying” as something other than their biological sex! (Heavy dose of sarcasm there!)

Nefarious

When 99% of pedophiles are men, confusing kids about who the men are is a predator’s dream.

The gender-botherers target our children with their insane ideology because they refuse to have their own natural offspring.

The kids’ entertainment industry is fast devolving into a massive recruitment drive, with big business and big government working together.

I’m not sure the Cartoon Network is for kids anymore.

Here’s more from the Cartoon Network:

Cartoon Network

Tell me again how serving up the gender Kool-Aid to kids on a Saturday morning is not grooming?

‘No, no. It’s teaching kids to be inclusive,’ protest the gender-bender apologists.

If you need to exclude science in order to be inclusive, you’re doing inclusion all wrong.

‘But, but… cartoons have always educated, and this is just education,’ they pretend.

Yeah, nah.

Vile groomers target kids because they know the rest of us aren’t stupid enough to fall for their ze/zir idiocy.

Blatant Grooming

The Cartoon Network tells children:

“Whether you use he/she/them or something else, we acknowledge and LOVE you!”

Wait. What?

Get away from my kids, you weirdos.

I’m cool with The Cartoon Network showing my children reruns of Tom and Jerry. I’m not cool with Pride flag-waving activists at The Cartoon Network telling my kids they LOVE them. That is waaaaay out of bounds.

Did I call you people groomers yet?

Groomers!

Meet cartoon character Chloe:

Cartoon Network

Chloe believed herself to be a girl until she fell into the clutches of the Cartoon Network, who quickly corrected her.

Creating Dysphoria

If everything goes according to plan, later today Chloe will let her school know that she wants to change her pronouns.

The school will secretly create a gender transition plan, addressing Chloe as Craig and using male pronouns he/him. Chloe, er Craig, can use the boy’s toilets if that’s what Craig wants.

Of course, there’s nothing sinister about the school being secretive regarding this, you understand. Teachers are just following best practice to make sure Chloe is protected from potentially unsupportive parents whose LGBTQ bigotry might lead Chloe to self-harm, or worse. It’s rumoured Chloe’s parents are Christians, you see.

If things go well, Chloe will soon be taking puberty blockers and contemplating surgery. It’s all part of the Big Pharma business model.

Anyone who protests that social transition, medication and removing perfectly healthy body parts are not in Chloe’s best interests will be deemed a dangerous bigot.

If her parents make a fuss (did I mention there’s a rumour they are churchies?), a government department will move Chloe to a more supportive environment.

The Cartoon Network has become a clever use of cartoons to network little kids with woke educators, activist ‘health’ experts and anti-family social workers.

If the Cartoon Network is going to insist on religious programming, they should air reruns of Veggie Tales.

Mainstreaming Drag and ‘Queering’ America — David Fiorazo

David Fiorazo

By on November 8, 2022  in absolute truthBiblical WorldviewChristianity in AmericaDavid’s BlogGender IdentityLGBTQMoral RelativismPolitical and Moral issuesPublic SchoolsSpiritual Warfare

A lot can happen in fifty years. The drag queen phenomena – nowhere on people’s radar – has now become mainstream.  How did we arrive at the point that men – dressing up as women – are allowed to read to, interact with, and perform for young children? Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is now celebrated as performances take place in bookstores, libraries, public schools, and tragically even in some so-called churches.

These “performances” are applauded by many parents causing many of us to ask, ‘Why would they go along with this?’

Part of the stated drag agenda is to disrupt foundational and traditional (biblical) beliefs about sex and gender.

This was once an obscure and hidden part of the gay subculture. Not anymore. Primarily homosexual men take on a drag queen persona, find a public space to work, act flamboyantly and often erotically, and are a common feature of pop culture.

But what kind of history is behind this agenda?

First things first: this is an overt attack on the image of God in mankind as well as a rejection of the truth of Scripture. We are witnessing acts of rebellion and debauchery, progressive efforts to not only ‘queer’ children but even seduce the church of Jesus Christ.

In his excellent article, “Drag Queens and the Queering of the Church,” M.D. Perkins writes that queer has become a label of pride within the LGBTQ+ acronym. Scholars began using the word to define radical social theories and the disruptive process of promoting non-biblical, non-traditional sexuality.

Perkins states:

“Queering is intended to complicate and disrupt what is perceived to be normal; to directly challenge heterosexuality, traditional gender roles, or the male/female binary. …”Queering is one strategy for queer activists who want to unsettle or complicate normative practices…”

In other words, the demonic goal behind most drag queen performances is to use entertainment and emotion to move people’s perceptions in order to confuse binary depictions of sex and gender.

Drag Queen Story hour is also a nonprofit organization which helps them solicit donations and use its status to get into schools and claim rights to public spaces. Their website proudly states their mission is to reach children, “defy rigid gender restrictions,” and promote the idea that “everyone can be their authentic selves.”

Not who God created you to be, but whoever you imagine or identify as. It is a perversion of the truth, an extension of the ‘born in the wrong body’ philosophy, and obviously a blatant mocking of the God of creation. This is not new; they just found another way to do evil and to attract kids.

The Bible states:

“But you, beloved, ought to remember the words that were spoken beforehand by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ, 18 that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.” Jude 1:17-18

Innocent, impressionable children as young as toddlers are being targeted by DQSH.

This past summer, Fox News reported the fact the nonprofit now known as “Drag Story Hour NYC” received approximately $207,000 in taxpayer funding since 2018 from New York residents. It has yet to be determined how many other states have similar groups that send drag queens into classrooms and access schoolchildren as young as age 3.

A gay college professor, drag queen, Harris Kornstein, who performed some of the first readings in public school libraries not only wrote a children’s book but also sits on the board of Drag Queen Story Hour. In fact, the nonprofit has since expanded to 40 local chapters having put on hundreds of performances across the country.

The deception goes deeper. Another perversion of the truth is the fact drag queens are being advertised as “family friendly” to supposedly promote reading, tolerance, and inclusion. This is yet another example of redefining strategic words and meanings.

To “queer” something is to intentionally blur the lines of right and wrong, good and evil, natural and unnatural, male and female. Those who support this philosophy in public and vote for politicians who endorse its wickedness are what the Bible refers to as “participating” in their “deeds of darkness (Eph. 5:11).

Moreover, Colossians 2:8 adds another warning:

See to it that there is no one who takes you captive through philosophy and empty deception in accordance with human tradition, in accordance with the elementary principles of the world;

In his incredibly extensive article, “The Real Story Behind Drag Queen Story Hour,” Christopher Rufo details the dangerous ideology driving the movement which he says was “born in the sex dungeons of San Francisco” and then incubated in academia.

Drag became political when the Stonewall riots of 1969 took place during the sexual revolution and drag performances became open forms of resistance to sexually “repressive” laws.

Later, the academic discipline of queer theory was born in 1984 to deconstruct and subvert the “sexual hierarchy” of married heterosexual people. By cultural influence and “a revolution of values,” they have worked successfully to soften and even tear down Western (read “Christian”) morality and biblical principles.

Rufo adds:

“The purpose, then, is to subvert the system of heteronormativity, which includes childhood innocence, and reengineer childhood sexuality from the ground up.

…The drag queen might appear as a comic figure, but he carries an utterly serious message: the deconstruction of sex, the reconstruction of child sexuality, and the subversion of middle-class family life.”

Remember the goal of these visual, entertaining drag performances is to obliterate traditional concepts of gender. Cutting to the chase however, one logical ending point of this deviant process is absolutely no restrictions on sexual behavior which, sadly will lead to the bottom of the perverse barrel: pedophilia.

Some laughed at those of us who warned about the slippery slope of denying God’s natural order, of normalizing homosexuality and then, legalizing same-sex “marriage.”

One radical in the 1990s, Judith Butler, further paved the way by mixing queer theory with post-modernism. She claimed that “once the premise is established that gender is malleable (changeable) and used as an instrument of power,” the next step is social reconstruction.

With people’s basic understanding of sex and gender identity now questioned, the reality of gender is also put into crisis. Chris Rufo further explains:

“it becomes unclear how to distinguish the real from the unreal. And this is the occasion in which we come to understand that what we take to be ‘real,’ what we invoke as the naturalized knowledge of gender is, in fact, a changeable and revisable reality.”

Now that more of us acknowledge the sheer mainstreaming of this evil in our culture, why would we be surprised to see it creep into the church? This ideology spread from underground to bookstores and libraries to the public schools which are fertile ground for “queering education.”

Until more concerned Christians, parents, pastors, voters, and political leaders understand the true, diabolical nature of DQSH and the ideology that drives it, it will be difficult to stop the enemy; to replace needed boundaries, common sense, and sanity. It will sadly be difficult to save the lives of countless young people and countless souls.

Jesus once warned about those who lead children astray that, “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea (Luke 17:2)” than cause “one of these little ones” to sin or to stumble.

God is the Author of creation including mankind (Genesis 1:27-28), Jesus confirmed the established order of marriage between one man and one woman as well as the family (Mark 10:6-9), God calls it an “abomination” for a man to wear a woman’s clothing or vise versa (Deut. 22:5), and those who practice any sexual sin outside of biblical parameters will not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 6:9).

It is therefore astounding so many (professing) Christians have been silent or ignore these issues until it’s too late. What’s worse, too many church leaders fail to address sin and resist wickedness being played out right before their eyes. By avoidance or neutrality, we are not looking out for others and protecting vulnerable children.

Love cares enough to do uncomfortable things like warning others and telling them the truth! Repent of your sin, trust Jesus and become a new creation.

As M.D. Perkins said, this “false dichotomy between loving our neighbors and standing for righteousness needs to stop.” If you think they’ll stop at the door of our churches, you’re in for a rude awakening – and we will have to answer for how we responded in this pivotal cultural moment.

U.S. Consumers Will Be Spending Much Less This Holiday Season Because Many Of Them Are Already Tapped Out — The Economic Collapse

This holiday season is certainly going to be far less jolly for millions of Americans.  Yesterday, I detailed 11 signs that economic activity in the U.S. is rapidly declining.  Well, today we have gotten even more bad news.  Thanks to deteriorating economic conditions, Americans plan to buy a lot less stuff this holiday season.  In fact, one survey that was just released has discovered that approximately half the country plans to “buy fewer things” this year…

Inflation is weighing heavily on the holidays this year.

Roughly half of shoppers will buy fewer things due to higher prices, and more than one-third said they will rely on coupons to cut down on the cost, according to a recent survey of more than 1,000 adults by RetailMeNot.

Normally, if cash is tight Americans will just load up their credit cards during the holiday season.

But for many people that simply won’t be possible this year.

Millions upon millions of us are already completely tapped out, and credit card balances have surged to a brand new record high

Credit card and personal loan balances have reached record highs in recent months as an increasing number of consumers lean on such means to combat growing financial pressures caused by sky-high inflation.

According to TransUnion’s Quarterly Credit Industry Insights Report (CIIR), bankcard balances rose 19% during the third quarter from a year ago, reaching a record $866 billion. This was driven heavily by a growth in Gen Z and Millennial borrowers whose balances increased 72% and 32%, respectively, according to the report.

A lot of Americans have already been heavily leaning on their credit cards just to survive from month to month in this harsh economic environment.

Now that balances are so high, there simply is not a lot of room for additional spending.

Women usually do a great deal of the holiday shopping, and another recent survey discovered that they are even more concerned about inflation than men are…

Rising prices are taking a toll on everyone right now, but a new study shows women are feeling the pain more than men – and it is the primary money woe keeping ladies up at night.

Research from Fidelity Investments found that inflation is currently the top financial concern for U.S. women, with upwards of 70% citing it as their main worry. Respondents listed the costs of essentials as the second-biggest stressor (65%), and another 58% expressed worries about not having enough saved for emergencies.

The cost of living has become extremely oppressive, and this has greatly reduced the amount of money that Americans have available for discretionary spending.

As a result, businesses all over the nation are struggling.

The NFIB’s Small Business Optimism Index just dropped again, and inflation continues to rank as the number one concern

According to the National Federation of Independent Business, 33% of small business owners cited inflation as their most important problem in October. That number is three points higher than was reported in September.

The NFIB’s Small Business Optimism Index dropped 0.8% to 91.3 in October, marking 10 consecutive months it has remained under the 49-year average of 98.

As I discussed yesterday, 37 percent of all small business owners in the entire country were not able to pay rent last month.

That is a disastrous number.

Of course many large businesses are experiencing major problems as well.

Just look at Carvana.  Just a couple of years ago Carvana was really flying high, but now it is literally on the verge of collapse

In total, Carvana’s shares have plummeted 96% this year after hitting an all-time intraday high of $376.83 per share in August 2021. According to CNBC, the stock’s all-time low of $8.14 per share occurred less than a week after it started trading publicly on April 28, 2017. The company’s previous worst day of trading was a 26.4% decline on March 18, 2020.

As a result, Morgan Stanley pulled its rating on Carvana, saying its stock could be worth as little as $1 to $40. Analyst Adam Jonas blamed the decrease in used car sales and an uncertain funding environment for the change. “While the company is continuing to pursue cost-cutting actions, we believe a deterioration in the used car market combined with a volatile interest rate adds material risk to the outlook,” he said via CNBC. These factors contribute to a wide range of positive and negative outcomes.

One of the biggest factors that is depressing sales for the auto industry right now is rapidly rising interest rates

The average interest rate for a new-vehicle loan climbed to 5.2% in the third quarter, while the average rate for a used vehicle loan hit 9.7%, according to TransUnion. Both are up more than one percentage point compared with the year-earlier period.

The Federal Reserve should not be aggressively hiking rates just as we are entering a major economic slowdown.

It is an incredibly foolish thing to do.

The Fed’s policies have been absolutely eviscerating the housing industry, and now it has become clear that the same thing is starting to happen to the auto industry.

But they are going to keep raising rates anyway.

As Americans went to the polls on Tuesday, the economy was the number one issue on their minds, and that does not appear to be good news for the Democrats

A report released Friday outlined the problem for Washington’s current ruling party. The University of Michigan, which releases a closely watched sentiment survey each month, asked respondents who they trusted more when it came to the economy and which would better for personal finances.

The result: overwhelmingly Republican.

The survey of 1,201 respondents saw Republicans with a 37%-21% edge on the question of which party is better for the economy. While that left a wide swath — 37% — of consumers who don’t think it makes a difference, the disparity of those with a preference is huge.

At this moment, Joe Biden’s approval rating with independents is the lowest that it has ever been.

All of the numbers seem to indicate that the election results will go a certain way.

But will that be what the “final results” actually show?

We will just have to wait and see…

Here’s A List Of Counties Reporting Issues At The Ballot Box This Election Day — Conservative Review

Election Day 2022 has arrived and unsurprisingly, some Americans are already encountering a myriad of problems when going to cast their ballots at their local precinct.

Dominion Voting Machines Down In Texas, Arizona, New Jersey – Other Voter Irregularities Reported — The Gateway Pundit

Voters in Mercer County, New Jersey, are facing a “county-wide system outage” in their election using Dominion Voting Machines.

The Gateway Pundit reported on this issue earlier today.

Voters are not being turned away, but are being asked to fill out ballots manually and place them in the slot for manual counting later.

In 2020 Mercer was a +40 Biden county. In the 2021 Governor’s race, Democrats lost 9 points over their 2020 performance in the county of 387,000 people.  The turnout in 2021 was of course significantly less.

It’s not just New Jersey, either. The Gateway Pundit has reported election day anomalies and machine outages across the country.

In Maricopa county, tabulators did not work starting at 6 am when the polls opened.

Incumbent Governor Stacey Abrams Loses Bid For Reelection — Babylon Bee

ATLANTA, GA — Incumbent Georgia Governor Stacey Abrams has lost her bid for reelection tonight, multiple official election sources are reporting. Challenger Brian Kemp managed to overcome an early vote lead to unseat Governor Abrams in a historic flip of the seat, which Abrams has held since 1992. Sources say Abrams just couldn’t hold on against a flood of votes on Election Day, which leaned heavily toward the previously unknown Republican challenger. At publishing time, Abrams had given a victorious acceptance speech and had also thanked her supporters for electing her President of Earth.

Pennsylvania Results Extremely Slow As Fetterman Is Counting The Ballots Himself — Babylon Bee

PENNSYLVANIA — Results from the midterm elections this week could take months or even years to come back, Pennsylvania election officials confirmed, after candidate John Fetterman insisted on counting the ballots himself. According to sources, Fetterman was handed a stack of ballots and began counting. “1… 2… 3…” he began, poll watchers claim, stating that Fetterman had managed to count three full ballots in just under seventeen minutes. At one point, between ballot numbers thirty-seven and thirty-eight, Fetterman even stared off into space for several hours, before signaling with Morse Code eye-blinks that he had lost count and needed to start over. “This could take a while,” said one poll volunteer. At publishing time, Dr. Oz said he had this “one weird trick” to cure the state’s election counting woes, but you’d have to click through to his website to find out what it was.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.Isaiah 43:2

Bridge there is none: we must go through the waters and feel the rush of the rivers. The presence of God in the flood is better than a ferryboat. Tried we must be, but triumphant we shall be; for Jehovah Himself, who is mightier than many waters, shall be with us. Whenever else He may be away from His people, the Lord will surely be with them in difficulties and dangers. The sorrows of life may rise to an extraordinary height, but the Lord is equal to every occasion.

The enemies of God can put in our way dangers of their own making, namely, persecutions and cruel mockings, which are like a burning, fiery furnace. What then? We shall walk through the fires. God being with us, we shall not be burned; nay, not even the smell of fire shall remain upon us.

Oh, the wonderful security of the heaven-born and heaven-bound pilgrim! Floods cannot drown him, nor fires burn him. Thy presence, O Lord, is the protection of Thy saints from the varied perils of the road. Behold, in faith I commit myself unto Thee, and my spirit enters into rest.

A Song of Love — Daily Devotionals by Thoughts about God

“There are three things that endure – faith, hope and love – and the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

Today is wholly devoted to the praise of love. The first three verses of 1 Corinthians 13 speak of the absolute necessity of love as the chief thing in our religion.

If I could speak in any language in heaven or on earth. . . if I had the gift of prophesy . . . if I had the gift of faith so that I could speak to a mountain and make it move . . . if I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body . . . but if I didn’t love others” then, three times repeated, “I would only be making meaningless noise like a loud gong or a clanging cymbal . . . what good would I be? . . . I would be of no value whatsoever.”  If I have not love, I am of no value.

There are fifteen things said about love, but one sentence sums up its whole nature: “It does not demand its own way” (verse 5). And again: ‘Love will last forever” (verse 8). Prophesies, unknown languages, and knowledge shall vanish away.  Even faith and hope shall be changed into sight.  But love lasts forever.

Love does not demand its own way.” Think and pray about this.

Love will last forever” Consider all that means.

The greatest of these is love.” Let this love rule in your life.

God is love. ‘God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them1 John 4:16

Let your heart be filled with love so that, by God’s almighty power, you may be a witness to the transforming power of love.  Then you will be a blessing to all around you.

“When a woman who had lived a sinful life in that town learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she brought an alabaster jar of perfume”  Luke 7:37 (NIV)

Imagine bringing something worth as much as one whole year’s salary and pouring it out on the feet of Jesus. The woman who worshiped Jesus with the alabaster jar of oil brought a gift that was extremely extravagant, by any account. She took everything she had – her very best – and chose to pour it out to Jesus. This was her simple, but oh, so extravagant thank you.

Jesus loved her act of worship; He saw her heart. He knew her story and He understood her worship. She had a heart filled with love for the God who forgave her sins.

What does my worship look like? Does it spring out of a heart of gratitude? What have I brought to God that is most precious to me?

Jesus, thank You for pouring out Your life on my behalf. I want to bring You my very best. Thank You that You know my story and that You see my heart. Amen.

The Political Left’s Reaction To Free Speech On Twitter Confirms Their Authoritarian Intent
We hear a lot these days from the political left about conservative and liberty minded ideals being a “threat to democracy,” and it’s important to understand that leftists use the word “democracy” very deliberately and with specific intent. America has never been a pure democracy, and for good reason. Democracy is rule by the mob; it is 51% of society lording over the other 49%. It is tyranny of the majority. The founders of our nation described America as a Constitutional Republic. Not once in the Declaration of Independence, the Bill Of Rights or the Constitution is the word “democracy” used. Not once. Leftists continue to use the word to describe our nation in bad faith,

The letters on the inscription are only fragments of words, with the rest of the letters having been broken off. When found, the artifact was near an ancient man-made pool together with pottery shards dating to the 8th century BC. However, at the time the Israel Antiquities Authority did not make a conclusive connection between the inscription, King Hezekiah and the pool.

That number was sub 5 million before the vaccine rollout, and although confirmed COVID deaths have flattened out, cumulative excess mortality continues to rise. And that estimate of 21.8 million excess deaths could very well be as high as 28 million.

“From The Patriot Post (patriotpost.us)”.

THE FOUNDATION

“Let each citizen remember at the moment he is offering his vote that he is not making a present or a compliment to please an individual — or at least that he ought not so to do; but that he is executing one of the most solemn trusts in human society for which he is accountable to God and his country.” —Samuel Adams (1781)

IN TODAY’S DIGEST

FEATURED ANALYSIS

Biden’s IRS Gets Out the Democrat Vote

A timely reminder about “free” money from the federal government seems suspiciously timed.

Nate Jackson

How many Americans received a mail-in ballot and an IRS letter telling them of benefits Democrats gave them on or about the same day? Inquiring minds want to know.

Everyone loves “free” money, and Democrats are experts at shamelessly redistributing income in a not-so-subtle exchange for votes. This election, the IRS seems to have gotten in on the act by sending a letter last month to nine million households extending the deadline for filing a 2021 tax return another month, all the way until November 17. To entice people, the letter reminded them that they “appear to qualify for a variety of key tax benefits.” In other words, recipients might be eligible for one of those $1,400 checks from last year’s American Rescue Plan, or maybe some of the expanded child tax credit or the drastically increased and grossly misnamed “earned-income tax credit.”

Democrats have campaigned heavily on all of the above.

“With rent, food prices and utility bills up, many families could use some extra cash. Inflation is stressing people’s budgets big time,” reported The Washington Post last month. “If you’re struggling and didn’t file a tax return this year, check your mail.”

All that redistributed taxpayer money caused inflation, but sure, go ahead and check the mail.

Why would the IRS send that letter out in October right before a critical election? The agency says it sent out a “similar” letter in 2020, but that one was only a reminder about the filing deadline. It didn’t contain an extension or reference the tax credits Democrats regularly trumpet on the campaign trail.

Texas Republican Kevin Brady, ranking member on the House Ways and Means Committee, marveled at the “suspicious timing” of the letter, which “appears political.” He wants an explanation for how this happened. Recipients were chosen largely based on having incomes low enough that filing a return is not required. People who pay little or no taxes and receive benefits anyway are far more likely to vote Democrat.

Meanwhile, there are still nine million unprocessed 2021 returns sitting at the IRS. Maybe that’s why the agency “needs” those 87,000 more employees.

What amounts to politicizing the IRS is nothing new, of course. For example, when $1,200 pandemic checks went out to 70 million Americans in 2020, “President Donald J. Trump” appeared in the memo line. Democrats caterwauled at the time, but only because he was outdoing them at their own game.

Touting redistributed benefits is not the only way the IRS has been politicized either. Leading up to the 2012 presidential election, Lois Lerner and a cadre of deep state IRS players effectively created an “enemies list” targeting Tea Party and Patriot groups for additional scrutiny in order to silence those groups. We can still only wonder if Barack Obama would have won reelection if his faithful minions in the executive branch hadn’t put an elbow on the scales on his behalf.

For all their incessant talk about the Republican “threat to democracy,” Democrats sure do know how to run a banana republic. They use the IRS to silence American citizens, they send the FBI to raid their political opponents and seed collusion conspiracies to undermine them, they deploy the Departments of Justice and Education to squelch the rights of parents who disagree with what they’re doing to children, and they use various other cabinet agencies to determine winners and losers in our economy. Does anyone think they’re above using the IRS to kindly remind voters ahead of an election just how “generous” Democrats are?

Beyond This Election Day

Today’s election is a step in the right direction, renewing our Republic’s advance toward Liberty and repudiating the leftist plague that has besieged our nation for the last two years. We will retake control of the House, and I hope the Senate as well.

But the outcome of elections has never changed our mission. Your Patriot Post team rises every day with a single mission “to support and defend” our Constitution and the American Liberty it enshrines, as irrevocably and eternally “endowed by our Creator.”

In addition to the ballot you cast in this election, please consider a second vote in support of your Patriot team and our mission, an investment that will pay dividends far beyond this election cycle:

I humbly ask that you please support The Patriot Fund’s Year-End Campaign today.

Thank you for being vigilant and faithful in your support of Liberty. We’re humbled to count you among the ranks of today’s Patriots, and it’s my great privilege to serve you as Publisher of The Patriot Post.

Dems Try to Pin Violent Crime on Red States

A recent left-wing report tried pathetically to shift the blame from the Democrats who run big cities.

Douglas Andrews

“He has been hyperventilating,” said New York Democrat Governor Kathy Hochul, “trying to scare people for months, and New Yorkers are onto it. All the legitimate media organizations have called him out for what he is doing: fear-mongering.”

Hochul, the former lieutenant governor who now holds the state’s top job only because former Governor Andrew Cuomo resigned in disgrace last year over a sexual harassment scandal, was referring to the man who stands between her and legitimate election — Republican Congressman Lee Zeldin — and to his dogged focus on the issue that concerns many New Yorkers above all others, including inflation: violent crime.

Indeed, Hochul’s steadfast failure to acknowledge crime as the central issue that it is, coupled with Zeldin’s intelligent candidacy, have turned a race she once led by 24 points into an Election Day toss-up.

“Democratic states are safer than the Republican states,” Hochul claimed recently. It’s a statement that, even if true, misses the point entirely. And the point is this: The crime-ridden hellholes across the 50 states are the big cities and their surrounding counties, and these are almost entirely run by Democrats. As a new report from The Heritage Foundation makes clear:

Cities with rogue prosecutors have imposed policies that all — each and every one of them — inure to the benefit of criminals. Such policies have contributed to the lawlessness across so-called blue cities and the steep rise in crime rates across America. To suggest now that Republican elected officials who have followed different policies have contributed to crime increases is at best laughable.

None of this should surprise anyone. As our Mark Alexander pointed out back in June: “There was an unprecedented spike in murders nationwide in 2020, which spilled over into 2021 and 2022 … and there will be new records set in Demo-controlled urban centers again this year.”

Perhaps Hochul and other desperate Democrats have been emboldened by this smokescreen of a report from Third Way, which fancies itself a center-left think tank. The report, titled “The Red State Murder Problem,” states that “murder rates are far higher in Trump-voting red states than Biden-voting blue states.”

Hmm … why might that be? Heritage quickly debunks it:

The fundamental flaw with the study and the reason it does not deserve any serious consideration is that the “murder rate” in each state is largely a function of the large number of murders in a state’s biggest city or cities. A super majority of those cities, even in otherwise red states, are deep blue and run by left-wing ideologues.

So what the study’s authors try to spin as a red-state murder problem is really a blue-city murder problem.

As for those deep-blue cities run by leftists, here are the inconvenient truths: New Orleans currently owns the dubious distinction of Murder City USA, with 36.8 homicides per 100,000 residents. The Big Not-So-Easy is followed directly by Baltimore, Birmingham, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Rochester, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Kansas City, Washington DC, Richmond, Oakland, Cincinnati, Chicago, and on and on.

Any of those cities sound like Republican strongholds to you? Us neither. Many of them haven’t had a Republican mayor in decades.

Perhaps, when the smoke clears from Election 2022, and the Democrats have spent all the ammo in their circular firing squads, perhaps they’ll revisit their smug and disastrous decision to spend more than 10 times as much on abortion advertising as they did on the number one issue on voters’ minds, inflation, and more than twice as much as they did on that other major issue, violent crime.

It seems simple enough to us: A government that fails to ensure the safety of its citizens soon loses the confidence of those citizens. And Democrat leaders have clearly and unequivocally failed their citizens.

When we wake up on Wednesday, it’ll be interesting to see whether the voters in blue cities and blue states have opted for law and order, or are still somehow beholden to the soft-on-crime Democrats who got them into this mess.

Executive News Summary

The Dems’ “unacceptable” pandemic fraud, Biden’s secret talks with Putin, and more.

Thomas Gallatin & Jordan Candler

Cross-Examination

  • The Dems’ “unacceptable” pandemic fraud: GOP House members are calling on the Labor Department to preserve records that show agency officials’ knowledge of the extent of fraud related to the COVID pandemic unemployment program. Republican lawmakers have sent several letters to Labor Secretary Marty Walsh related to their concern over fraud within the pandemic program. They contend, “The lack of a sufficient response and action from the [Biden] administration to date is disappointing and unacceptable.” Of the roughly $800 billion spent thus far in the pandemic relief program, there has been an estimated $200 billion in fraud. “The amount of UI fraud is staggering,” wrote Representatives Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Brad Wenstrup (R-OH) in a letter sent last Thursday to Walsh, which “is why congressional Republicans have repeatedly sought information about the billions of taxpayer dollars stolen due to fraud and worked to stop the ‘pay and chase’ model and improve accountability in pandemic unemployment programs.” They further requested “information about the administration’s knowledge of UI fraud and what is being done to recover stolen dollars.” In the likely event that Republicans gain control of at least the House, it is a foregone conclusion that the issue of COVID relief fraud will be dug into much more throughly.
  • Biden’s secret talks with Putin: It has recently come to light that Joe Biden’s national security advisor, Jake Sullivan, has been communicating for months with Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy advisor, Yuri Ushakov, and Putin’s national security advisor, Nikolai Patrushev. The reason behind the communications has been to reduce the risk of the use of weapons of mass destruction, including nuclear weapons, in Putin’s war against Ukraine. Neither the White House nor the Kremlin have admitted that the discussions have taken place. National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson simply stated, “People claim a lot of things,” and Russian spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed, “Anglo-Saxon newspapers have been publishing numerous hoaxes.” Meanwhile, the traditional diplomatic communications between Moscow and Washington have effectively become nonexistent. While maintaining communications is undoubtedly important, one can image the Leftmedia outcry if it had learned that Donald Trump was holding secret talks with the Russians.
  • Afghanistan: A permanent pox on the Biden administration: As millions of Americans go to the polls today, Joe Biden and the Democrats are hoping that most voters don’t recall Biden’s disastrous surrender and abandonment of Afghanistan to the Taliban. Recall that Biden’s actions in Afghanistan cost the lives of 13 U.S. military personnel and hundreds of Afghan allies, which in turn initiated the dramatic plummet in his job approval rating, a descent he has not recovered from. What may be most ironic about Biden’s Afghanistan debacle was that he had intended for it to be a favorable political talking point: “Joe Biden ends America’s longest war.” Instead, it has become Biden’s biggest disgrace, inflicting a generational stain on America’s global reputation and likely directly leading to Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine. The impact of Biden’s Afghanistan stain upon Democrat election hopes remains to be seen, but if history is any indicator, a sitting president’s party generally does not outperform his job approval rating in a midterm election. Currently, Biden’s approval is just 42%, which is a bad omen for Democrats. While Afghanistan is far from the only reason Biden is under water in the polls, it may be the one factor that most damaged his image in the minds of the American electorate.

Legacy Media: One Fail After Another

Leftmedia talkingheads are still grappling with the fact that hating Trump is not enough to keep and grow an audience.

Thomas Gallatin

Donald Trump was a boon for mainstream media outlets. Many of them saw their bottom lines balloon as their coverage of the uncharacteristic candidate and then president became blatantly partisan on a level not seen in modern American history. Of course, most mainstream media outlets have long leaned to the left while claiming they were merely engaged in straight news coverage and repeatedly denying any political bias. But with Trump, that non-biased façade was quickly discarded and replaced with a self-righteous “resistance” that eschewed straight news as permitting the dispensing of “misinformation.”

The faces of this blatant embrace of leftist political bias were a growing number of commentators on outlets such as CNN and MSNBC. While the latter always embraced leftist political bias, CNN once sought to at least maintain vestiges of its non-biased façade. The truth is no one who watched believed it, but, infected with Trump Derangement Syndrome, they tuned in to get their daily fix. And CNN leaned hard into this, creating stars out of the likes of Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo.

Interestingly, Fox News, which has long been recognized as the sole major right-leaning news media outfit, also did well during Trump’s term. However, unlike CNN and other Leftmedia outlets, Fox News did not experience a significant dip in viewership following Joe Biden’s election. Naturally, Fox’s refusal to placate the MSM anti-Trump narrative clearly rubbed some of its own media personalities the wrong way, as both Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace left the company. They both now may be regretting their decisions.

We have repeatedly observed how CNN’s viewership numbers sank following Trump’s exit, even as the outlet changed presidents and claimed to want to move back to the middle. Furthermore, CNN’s once-popular commentators have fallen on hard times. Chris Cuomo got caught up in an unethical journalism scandal with his brother Andrew, the disgraced former governor of New York, and was fired.

As Don Lemon’s CNN primetime show was tanking in the ratings, the outlet tried various gimmicks like renaming his program before canceling it and then sticking him in a new morning show called “CNN This Morning.” However, as of last week, that show was able to pull in only 387,000 viewers compared to 1.5 million people watching “Fox & Friends.”

Maybe even more embarrassing was Chris Wallace, who left Fox to become the face of CNN’s new streaming channel, CNN+. But that $300 million disaster didn’t even make it a month before it was canned. That was ironic indeed given Wallace’s assertion that he left Fox News because he believed it had become “increasingly unsustainable.” Evidently, Wallace had become so infected with TDS that he could not see past the January 6 Capitol riot. Now Wallace is largely forgotten.

And Shepard Smith, who was a staple on Fox News for 23 years, also finds his career languishing. His program, “The News With Shepard Smith,” debuted on CNBC in September 2020 and was canceled last week. TDS appears to be what drove him from Fox News, as he couldn’t work alongside those who expressed “partisan” views.

Although MSNBC has never really sought to claim it was not biased to the left, it is revealing that even that network could not justify holding onto racist firebrand commentator Tiffany Cross. MSNBC fired Cross last week after she derided Florida Governor “Ron DeStupid” and disparagingly referred to the entire state as a certain body part. She failed to meet the outlet’s “standard,” MSNBC said.

The moral of the story is that admitting bias is not what turns people off. The offense is reporting and commentating that so blatantly ignores the truth for a favored leftist narrative and then labels all who object to the fraudulent portrayal as ignorant or racist rubes. Thankfully, fewer people are listening to these purveyors of anti-American hate.

Celebrity Endorsements Before the Midterms

Democrats and their policies have even lost the love of Hollywood elites.

Emmy Griffin

Today is Election Day. Happy midterms!

Though celebrity endorsements aren’t worth much — they hardly change anyone’s mind — they are much more intriguing when higher-profile celebs go against leftist talking points. This is all the more notable because in this political climate, that sort of off-the-reservation thinking is liable to get them canceled by Hollywood.

Elon Musk is the first person of interest in this cadre of heterodox celebs. His defection from the Democrats is not that shocking considering he had already shared that he voted for Congresswoman Mayra Flores, a Republican, earlier this year. Musk’s message to his Twitter followers this week was: “To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic.” He also pointed out that staunch Republicans and Democrats are set in their vote; it is the independents who decide election outcomes. Musk’s theme this past year seems to be restoring the balance of power. It’s part of the reason he pursued buying Twitter in the first place.

Comedian and actor Rob Schneider voiced his discontent with the Democrats in sharing that California had gotten so bad that he moved his family to Arizona. He has long criticized the Democrats for their heavy-handed overreach during COVID, and his outspokenness then stymied his career. Now that he is free and out of showbiz, he has focused on his family and is voting for a candidate who aligns with family values — gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake. In his statement to his fans, he wrote: “My family left California & moved to the free state of Arizona because individual liberties were trampled in the guise of liberalism which was just disguised authoritarianism. The lives of Americans have been made more difficult under these Dem run states. I’m voting for Kari Lake.”

As for the A-list actors and performers, Chris PrattKaty PerryGwyneth Paltrow, Snoop Dogg, and Kim Kardashian have publicly declared that they are voting for Rick Caruso for Los Angeles mayor over incumbent Karen Bass. Though both are Democrats, Rick Caruso was a former Republican. Bass is largely considered the more progressive of the two candidates. Pratt, Perry, and Paltrow all voiced their dismay at their home of LA being degraded by bad governance and that perhaps a change of leadership would start to turn it around. It’s going to take more than one semi-moderate mayor to lift that city out of the quagmire, but the fact that celebrities are being confronted with the reality of Democrat governance and its consequences is very interesting considering how much of a bubble these people live in.

When even big Hollywood elites are able to quit pretending LA is all hunky-dory, it’s a testament to how desperately out of touch the Democrats are with the consequences of their radical agenda. Musk, Schneider, Pratt, Perry, and Paltrow may not be the most definitive canaries in the coal mine, but they’re certainly indicative of a larger movement away from a Democrat Party that has driven us off the deep end.

It’s Election DAY, Not Election Season

The extension of our elections from a single day to a multi-week event only erodes our confidence in the system.

Douglas Andrews

It’s Election Day. Finally. This Election Season stuff is for the birds.

It’s also for the cheaters, the ballot-stuffers, the Philly bosses who always turn their votes in last on election night, just waiting for word on how many votes they need to deliver for the statewide or national Democrat candidate. Former MSNBC political analyst Chris Matthews, himself a Philly Democrat, used to laugh about this very thing on Election Night.

Yep, election fraud is a real hoot.

This new Election Season arrangement has also baked an expected Democrat advantage into every election. Pennsylvania Democrat Senate candidate John Fetterman explains: “Because Pennsylvania is one of the only states that reports Election Day totals first before ballots cast by mail, and because more populated counties around Philadelphia can take longer to report, we should expect one of the most dramatic shifts in the country from initial GOP support in early results to stronger Democratic gains as more votes are processed.”

See how that works? Even if a Republican candidate is holding a decent lead over his Democrat challenger on Election Night, we shouldn’t necessarily expect that lead to hold up. How poisonous is that when we’re talking about free and fair elections?

Unfortunately, it’s not just Fetterman who’s sowing doubt by setting these expectations of late-night and early-morning Democrat heroics. Taking a brief break from smearing the “MAGA Republicans,” those 74 million Americans who voted for Donald Trump in 2020, as “a threat to our democracy,” Joe Biden got into the expectation-setting act last week, warning the American people thusly:

“We know that more and more ballots are cast in early voting or by mail in America,” Biden said. “And we know that many states don’t start counting those ballots till after the polls close on November 8. That means in some cases we won’t know the winner of the election for a few days — until a few days after the election. It takes time to count all legitimate ballots in a legal and orderly manner. It’s always been important for citizens in the democracy to be informed and engaged. Now it’s important for a citizen to be patient as well. That’s how this is supposed to work.”

No, Joe, that’s not how it’s supposed to work. Election Day isn’t supposed to be Election Season.

As if on cue, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre carefully read from her prepared notes and reiterated Biden’s time-buying election tactic: “I also just want to note — as you all know because you guys have covered this these past couple of years in 2022 — it took two weeks to call every state,” she warned. “In modern elections, more and more ballots are being cast in early voting and also by mail. And many states don’t start counting those ballots until after the polls close on November 8.”

Even Twitter is propagandizing on behalf of the Democrats. “It takes time to count all of the votes,” Twitter’s welcome message told users in big, bold letters when they logged on recently. “It’s expected to take multiple days to count the votes, so the projected winners of some elections might not be announced yet,” it continued. “This means you could encounter unconfirmed claims that a candidate has won their race.”

Why can’t we count our votes in a timely manner like Florida does and like the rest of the world does?

Of course, our newly extended election events are also catnip for the conspiracy theorists — those who now have yet another reason to sow doubt about the integrity of an election. Think about it: The more avenues there are for casting a vote, the more opportunities there are for casting doubt on an electoral outcome.

It’s the voting machines! It’s the coding! It’s the see-through mail-in ballots! It’s the overwhelmingly Democratic Postal Service! It’s those suitcases we see being hauled into the vote-counting area after hours! It’s the big-city Democrat vote counters who won’t let Republican observers anywhere near where the votes are being counted!

But besides ballot integrity, there’s another reason why voting should be reserved for Election Day, and we were treated to it on October 25 in Pennsylvania, when John Fetterman and his Republican opponent, Mehmet Oz, took the stage for their lone debate of the electoral season. Unfortunately, thanks to early voting, hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians had already cast their votes before being able to witness the disastrous debate performance of the stroke-addled Fetterman.

This isn’t the way it’s supposed to be. How many among that massive group of early voters would’ve reconsidered their vote had they seen Fetterman’s deeply disqualifying performance? One in 10? One in a hundred? In an election this close, that’s often all it takes to swing things.

It wasn’t long ago when we knew the result of elections on the evening of the election itself.

Those were the days. And they might one day return, if we finally come to realize that our once-simple voting system is no longer reliable and that it’s been corrupted by the unnecessary extension of Election Day into Election Season.

SHORT CUTS

Insight

“Private property was the original source of freedom. It still is its main bulwark.” —Walter Lippmann (1889-1974)

Political Futures

“Donald Trump fired the first shot in his 2024 competition with Ron DeSantis by calling him ‘Ron DeSanctimonious’ at a Pennsylvania rally over the weekend. … Trump is not a party-builder. Yes, he’s a movement-builder, but he imagines that the movement is all about himself. … Trump has already shown once before that he can take a winnable national race and lose it, in part because he couldn’t conceal his personal flaws — he didn’t even try — and made himself repellent to too many voters for no good reason. (It’s one thing to be hated for fighting courageous fights; it’s another to be hated for idiotic tweets and pointless outrages.) … We can’t know how a 2024 fight will play out. We do know that the stakes will be enormous.” —Rich Lowry

For the Record

“Democrats: Election denial is so bad that you must vote for us. Also Democrats: If we lose, it will because of voter suppression (Stacey Abrams), Russian bots on social media (Amy Klobuchar), and ‘hanky-panky stuff’ (DNC chair Jaime Harrison).” —Ben Shapiro

“It’s unfortunate that a President who promised to unite America is now calling half of us threats to democracy. If you agree that we deserve better than this — vote!” —former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo

Belly Laugh of the Week

“Across the board, what we’re seeing is enormous popularity for the Biden agenda.” —White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield

Freudian Slip

“We settle ‘em peacively [sic] at the battle — at the battle blox [sic] — the ballot box.” —Joe Biden

Non Compos Mentis

“[Lee Zeldin] has been hyperventilating [on crime], trying to scare people for months, and New Yorkers are onto it. All the legitimate media organizations have called him out for what he is doing: fear-mongering.” —New York Governor Kathy Hochul

“Other than murder, violent crime is not up. Did you know that?” —columnist Mona Charen (“Helpful tip when attempting to persuade: never begin a sentence with ‘other than murder…’” —Greg Gutfeld)

Let Them Eat Cake

“I grew up in a family where, you know, if the gas price went up, the food budget went down. So by this time of the week, we’d be eating Chef Boyardee if that budget wasn’t going to change, right? So that’s what families have to do.” —Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney

Dumb and Dumber

“We may not know all the winners of elections for a few days. It takes time to count all legitimate ballots in a legal and orderly manner. That’s how this is supposed to work.” —White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre

“In the private sector, Rick Scott oversaw the biggest Medicare fraud in history. So, don’t take my word for it. Don’t take our word for it. Let’s take PolitiFact’s. So with that, you know, you really can’t make things up.” —Karine Jean-Pierre

Village Idiots

“There’s 330 million people in the country. Maybe a good 80 to 90 million aren’t very bright. No offense to those of you watching who aren’t bright, but … you’re watching MSNBC, so I’m making an assumption that you know what’s going on.” —filmmaker Michael Moore

“The midterm elections are on Tuesday, and we have a tough decision ahead. On the one hand our democracy is being threatened by extremists who want power at all costs, even if it means burning us to the ground. On the other hand, gas is four dollars a gallon now.” —comedian Jimmy Kimmel

And Last…

“There may be some explanation as to why certain states take several days to tabulate all ballots, BUT there is not an acceptable explanation. It is simply outrageous and breeds enormous distrust, skepticism and cynicism. Does it happen in red states, BTW?” —David Limbaugh
