1. Trust in the Lord.
Prov. 3:5–6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
2. Nothing is too hard for God.
Jer. 32:17, 26–27. ‘Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You. Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?’ ”
3. See the glory and power of God.
1 Chron. 29:10–13.
1 Chron. 29:11–12. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, The power and the glory, The victory and the majesty; For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours; Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, And You are exalted as head over all. Both riches and honor come from You, And You reign over all. In Your hand is power and might; In Your hand it is to make great And to give strength to all.
4. The Lord is your shepherd.

5. The Lord is the believer’s light and his salvation.

Ps. 27:8. When You said, “Seek My face,” My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
Ps. 27:13–14. I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living. Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
6. The Lord is the believer’s refuge and strength.
Ps. 91:1–2. He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
7. God’s purposes prevail.
Prov. 19:21. There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.
8. A person’s steps are directed by God.
Prov. 20:24. A man’s steps are of the Lord; How then can a man understand his own way?
9. God sovereignly works out his plan.

10. Lift your eyes to the hills.

11. Jesus calmed the storm and rebuked the disciples for their little faith.

Matt. 14:31. And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”
13. God is faithful; his mercies are new every morning.
Lam. 3:22–24. Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The Lord is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I hope in Him!”
14. God is always faithful.
Lam. 3:32. Though He causes grief, Yet He will show compassion According to the multitude of His mercies.
15. Trust and delight in the Lord; wait patiently for him.
Ps. 37:1–7.
Ps. 37:3. Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.
Ps. 37:4. Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Ps. 37:5–6. Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.
Ps. 37:7. Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.
16. Why are you downcast? Hope in God!

Ps. 42:5. Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.

18. God knows us intimately; he is always leading us.

Ps. 139:1–3. O Lord, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehend my path and my lying down, And are acquainted with all my ways.
19. God holds and guides us.
Ps. 73:23–24. Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. You will guide me with Your counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.
20. Be near to God, your refuge.
Ps. 73:28. But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord God, That I may declare all Your works.
21. God gives comfort to his people.
Isa. 40.
Isa. 40:11. He will feed His flock like a shepherd; He will gather the lambs with His arm, And carry them in His bosom, And gently lead those who are with young.
Isa. 40:28–31. Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
22. Do not fear; you are the Lord’s child.
Isa. 43:1–3. But now, thus says the Lord, who created you, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; You are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I gave Egypt for your ransom, Ethiopia and Seba in your place.”
23. Do not fear; the Lord is with you.
Isa. 41:10. ‘Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
24. Call upon the Lord in the day of trouble.
Ps. 50:15. “Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify Me.”
25. Take refuge in the Lord.
Ps. 57:1. Be merciful to me, O God, be merciful to me! For my soul trusts in You; And in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge, Until these calamities have passed by.
26. Trust your heavenly Father to take care of you. Think of how God cares even for the birds and the flowers. You are of much more value than they.
Matt. 6:25–34.
27. God’s servant Joshua is given a difficult task. The Lord counsels him to be strong and courageous.
Josh. 1:1–9.
Josh. 1:9. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
28. Trust in the Lord brings peace to the heart. Trust in his unfailing love.
Isa. 26:3–4. You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in Yah, the Lord, is everlasting strength.
Ps. 9:9. The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.
Ps. 28:7–8. The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. The Lord is their strength, And He is the saving refuge of His anointed.
Ps. 33:18–22. Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope in His mercy, To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine. Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, Because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, Just as we hope in You.
Ps. 36:5–9. Your mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Lord, You preserve man and beast. How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of Your wings. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of Your house, And You give them drink from the river of Your pleasures. For with You is the fountain of life; In Your light we see light.
29. God cares for those who trust in him.
Nah. 1:7. The Lord is good, A stronghold in the day of trouble; And He knows those who trust in Him.
30. Do not trust in worldly power or wicked men.
Isa. 31:1. Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, And rely on horses, Who trust in chariots because they are many, And in horsemen because they are very strong, But who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, Nor seek the Lord!
31. God cannot forget us.
Isa. 49:14–16. But Zion said, “The Lord has forsaken me, And my Lord has forgotten me.” “Can a woman forget her nursing child, And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.”[1]
