How Do I Deal with My Pain? How Do I Help a Loved One Struggling with Pain?

For believers there is hope beyond the grave: “And now, dear brothers and sisters, we want you to know what will happen to the believers who have died so you will not grieve like people who have no hope. (1 Th. 4:13)”

For believers, there is fellowship with Jesus in suffering: “So that I may know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death (Phil. 3:10).”

For believers, there is comfort in that:

He intercedes for us: “He is forever able to save the people he leads to God, because he always lives to speak to God for them. (Heb. 7:25)”

He also sympathizes with our weaknesses, being touched by our infirmities: “We have a high priest who can feel with us when we are weak. He has been tested in every way, just as we are. But he did not do anything wrong. (Heb. 4:15)”

Not a sparrow falls to the ground without His notice: “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And one of them will not fall to the ground without the knowledge and consent of your Father. And even the hairs of your head are all numbered! Therefore do not be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows (Matthew 10:29-31).”
